Howayah Football fans! Lestah Phonesmashah here. You may have heard of me from my notawrious work smashing phones.
I got to say.
I hear all these Ideears ah-bout how Tawmy Brady is hiding something from the NFL because he smashed one little phone.
I say to that – GAHBIDGE!
There is nothing conspicuous about smashing a cell phone.
We Ahll do it!
It’s human naycha!
I smash all myin! The NFL’s decision ain’t worth the Paypah its written on.
We can spend Ouwwahs talking about PSIs and science and stuff – but there is one thing we all have to know in owah hearts.
Smashing a phone is not evidence of anything. Like I said its human naycha.
There are a lot of times some one might want to smash a phone.
I keep this list of the best times to smash a phone. Check it out:
So you can see how normal it is to smash your cell phones. I don’t know about you but I’m not ahbout to stawp.
But it goes deepah than that. Take a look at this phone I destroyed. Looks like just an Ahdinary broken phone to you right?
Its Nawht
Take a closah look. When you break down the ordinary cell phone and pull out the chips. You will find the work of the devil! Isn’t that a pisser!

Ya see, all cell phones have these little evil microchips inside.
The microchips are all in satanic cults and they hate football.
Rogah Goodell makes these evil microchips to convince the public to hate football and Saint Tawmy Brady.
Why is Rogah Goodell out to get the Great Tawmy Brady after Tawmy built the NFL? Because Rogah Goodell is from Brazil and he wants the US to be a soccer country. We all know this is true right? If you don’t love the Pats then you might of missed this fact – because you are blinded by your hate of Tawmy Brady.
Which is where cell phones come in and why it’s a good thing to smash one. If you are not careful your satanic cell phone is going to make you watch a 1-1 tie every Sunday and then make you kick your grandma in the back. Cell phones ruin families too…
Most real football fans have been smashing their cell phones for years!
Still not convinced? Check out how this autocorrect ruined my life!
So you see, Saint Tawmy Brady was doing Gawd’s work. He wasn’t hiding evidence. Rogah Goodell is a retawded demon who wants you to watch FIFA. Are you a FIFA homo or are you gonna come with me to Federal Court?
I rest my case!

LOL Piggy.
Good morning everyone. Have a great day.
He’s rich. He’s famous. He’s got a famous, wealthy wife. Is it a normal practice for athletes and celebrities to smash their old cell phones? Hacking is sophisticated; could a phoned that’s wiped clean still be hacked into? Isn’t it safer to just smash the phone and move on?
Maybe Brady doesn’t want his private life exposed to the people inside the NFL who could leak info to the public about his personal life. I can tell you destroying phones is a common practice due to hacking techniques. Stagefright, Lollipop and KitKat are just a few of the hacking virus that are hard for virus detectors. I worked in the telecommunication industry for almost 20 years and if one is going to destroy their cellphone one wouldn’t smash it they would soak in water for 30 minutes or more then leave it out to dry. Rooting is similar to wiping out a hard drive in PC but hard drives you have to wipe it 7-8 times,so they say. The fact that he offered his paper bills with all meta data along with the equipment managers offering their phones with all text messages tells me the NFL’s case is weak. The focus of the investigation switched from psi of footballs to destroying of phone. Goodall’s decision was leaked to the press before the official verdict was handed down. Goodall was judge and jury- doesn’t sound right even when Brady requested differently. Aaron Rodgers said publicly he likes his footballs overinflated and he was not investigated about this statement. This just seems like a longtime Goodall vs NE feud.
Jetsuck
Destroying the subject f an investigation pending appeal is highly unusual and suspicious for anyone even a celebrity
The initial wells report, hardly stated Brady’s refusal to give up the phone in passing
The patriots lack of cooperation was a major factor in leading welsh to the conclusion it did
So there was no shifting of focus
The fact that it was done is just a punch line
The wells report had a lot of evidence to indicate that Tom brady instructed the equipment guy to deflate the balls
And the psi readings speak for themselves
The idea the there is a longtime feud between Goodell and the patriots is silly
The patriots have been caught cheating
I doubt Goodell wants to punish them
He has to
The saints and the dolphins have been under scrutiny as well
But the cheats have mishandled every part of this
Capped by destroying a phone
Which is just a dumb thing to do

Show me in Wells report that Brady instructed equipment managers not probably instructed. The equipment managers said they were willing to show all the text messages of their phones. Brady said he would supply all the paper bills that show numbers called along with times. Is the NFL lazy or is this infraction predetermined. What if Brady had a extramarital affair and he didn’t trust the NFL because they leaked info before to the media? Would you trust the league offices after they leaked stuff to the press before. ?

The Mets are getting closer to taking over the division lead man it’s starting to get interesting for you NY’ers.
So close they took over the lead last night!
You NY’ers probably have a hiigher step in your walk this morning. Your chests are probably pumped out today.
LMFAO Piggy! Great job!
LMAO Piggy!!
I love the auto correct example!!
NICE WORK, Piggy! Last night, Boulder suggested that all fans are the same and that, if it was proven Miami cheated during their “Run to Glory” in ’72 and ’73, we’d all shrug our shoulders and still say “They Were the Greatest Team of All Time!” NOT SO, BOULDER, NOT SO AT ALL!! –I’d be sickened if it was proven Miami did what the “CHEATS” did to win Super Bowls!!
—————–
But, of course, they didn’t. They did not get the benefit of a now non-existent rule known as the “Tuck Rule,” which unfairly allowed the Pats to keep the ball when they had lost it to the Raiders in the AFC Playoffs. The NFL now admits that rule was a “mistake.” NOR did Miami conduct the illegal filming of the other team’s practices so they’d have an unfair advantage. There is no “SPYGATE” in Miami’s repertoire! And, of course there’s no “Deflategate” nor is there a subsequent destruction of incriminating evidence in Miami’s championships! Miami’s 32-2 record was based on hard work, dedication, and the extraordinary execution of game plans and strategies which produced the greatest two year run in NFL history. Those championships were WON FAIRLY!! New England’s “dynasty’ was AND IS, BUILT ON DECEPTION, CHEATING, AND PROVABLE VIOLATIONS OF NFL RULES AND REGULATIONS. They are the “Asterisk Champions” and always will be!!
NOR did Miami conduct the illegal filming of the other team’s practices so they’d have an unfair advantage. There is no “SPYGATE” in Miami’s repertoire!

where do you get this stuff, it’s unbelievable. You really believe they were punished for taping oppt’s practices? The Pats didn’t tape oppt. practices. WoW this is unbelievable.
Things you didn’t know…………….!!!!!!!!
Islamic Dancing Rules
A Muslim couple, preparing for their wedding, meets the Mullah for counseling. He asks if they have any last questions before they leave.
The man asks, “We realize it’s a tradition in Islam for men to dance with men, and women to dance with women. But, at our wedding reception, we’d like your permission to dance together.”
“Absolutely not,” says the Mullah. “It’s immoral. Men and women always dance separately.”
“So, after the ceremony, I can’t even dance with my own wife?”
“No,” answered the Mullah, “It’s forbidden in Islam.”
“Well, okay,” says the man, “What about sex? Can we finally have sex?”
“Of course!” replies the Mullah, “Sex is OK within marriage, to have children!”
“What about different positions?” asks the man.
“No problem,” says the Mullah. “Woman on top?” “Sure,” says the Mullah, “Go for it!” “Doggy style?” “Sure!” “On the kitchen table?” “Yes, yes!”
“Can we do it with all my four wives together on rubber sheets with a bottle of hot oil, a couple of vibrators, leather harnesses, a bucket of honey and a porno video?”
“You may indeed!”
“Can we do it standing up?”
“No.” says the Mullah.”
“Why not?” asks the man.
“It could lead to dancing!”
LMAO!!!!
LMAO Piggy! That was great! Brady should have hired Ray Donovan to fix that mess.
LOL @ jetssuck
Which NL East team has Sole possession of 1st place? Yeah, that’s right, the New York Mets! Stay strong Mets!
I’m jealous. August and September are glorious when your baseball team is relevant and football is getting started. But it is dreadfully uneventful when baseball team is just playing out the season because what football there is available doesn’t feel like enough.
As Mets fans we know all to well what that’s like. This team has been brutal to watch for years until they started to get these young arms up and then the lineup was brutal to watch. Now we actually have a competitive lineup and a chance.

shocker! a New England sports page defending the Patriots. lol
they are possible or are we living in a society of guilty till proven innocent.
list of when to destroy your phone literally made me laugh out loud… “juggle” !!
…sometimes I fear that one day we”re going to see a news story about a fin fan “going postal” on opposing AFC East QBs: “reports coming in about voices in the head of the suspect…parents may want to monitor children for this segment”
🙂
LOL @ Piggy
I’m tired of this whole thing with Brady and the Pats. I really hope we just smoke them and the rest of the division and be done with it.
jetssuck, there are times when we are a society of guilty until proven innocent. Defendants for certain crimes are often detained until the trial is over so they’re not free that entire time.
but these people are judged by their peers in a fair trial. Not by one person such as Goodall did with judge and Jury even though Brady requested differently.
The NFL is not society, it’s a sport with its own rules. You don’t have to play for the league if you choose not to. It’s a privilege not a right.
I guess a federal court will decide what was fair
Rhino
Totally understood. Like Tim said, we’re kind of used to being irelevant this time of year. It’s a real treat to be in it. It’s got my full attention, I’m all in.
Cespedes showed the impact he has on this lineup last night. It’s totally different now. 😉
I would have loved to take the subway this morning to hear the excitement from the mets fans and everyone in general who usually don’t follow baseball. It’s amazing how a sport can lift the spirits of a city
jetssuck
I haven’t seen Brady, the Patriots organization, or any of the NE rags crying about the Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, or any of the other decisions. This is the league they play in, they should just pipe down, STFU, and deal with the punishment they were crrectly punished for. If Brady had cooperated rather than weasling out of it, his suspension would have been reduced.
Might have been just a fine if he had come clean.
The funny thing is, neither Rice nor Peterson’s transgressions had anything to do with football, or have any effect on a game being played in the NFL
That’s what everyone is forgetting. This is a game violation, not a domestic case. It’s an NFL rule, not a societal rule. Citizens can set the psi on their balls to anything they want. LOL
read the wells report and the patriots organizations statements then if you can be objective then you may provide a unbiased opinion. Being informed is the greatest thing when deciding a fact from fiction.
Just today on this blog OD thinks the Pats spygate infraction almost 10 years ago thinks pats were guilty of taping practices of opponents.
Tim
Just his presence in the lineup, along with either Kelly Johnson or Juan Uribe and Travis d’Arnaud lengthens and makes the lineup so much more formidable. They had 5 or 6 guys batting .175 to .250. You can’t score with an anemic lineup like that.
Big time! It actually looks like a legit major league lineup now. I did not realize how versatile Kelly Johnson is. He can play the outfield, 2nd base (last night) and 1st. So we brought Conforto back up and put Nieuwenhuis on the disabled list. With Cuddyer and Nieuwenhuis out Conforto will play and the kid hit his 1st HR last night with a 3 run shot. Our bench is better now as well.
Yeah, it’s a domino effect. Every legitimate piece in the lineup makes the next guy that much better.

No shot am I wasting my time reading a 300 page document, but I read all the pages where they discuss the pertinent issues. It seemed pretty clear that the footballs the Patriots had were down about 5psi from the Colts footballs, and there was enough dialogue between the equipment guys to substantiate the issue. Also, the fact that Brady wouldn’t hand over his phone, or more specifically, conversations with the equipment guys is very damning.
Mike E. says:
August 4, 2015 at 9:54 am
were down about 5psi from the Colts footballs.
11.5 to 12.5 is the legal amount. The footbals were measured to within 1 lb of being underinflated. The balls were tested three different times at halftime. Do you think its possible that air was lost during each test? Why are officials allowed to use their own bought measuring gauges and other are allowed to use NFL supplied and Wilson supplied gauges? Why was the colts pressure gauge used instead of the one that was used by officials 2 hours and 15 minutes before game?
What’s the difference what gauge was used if ALL the balls were tested. That makes it completely irrelevant
I prefer to throw a slighly deflated football, it’s easier to throw than a hard football. It’s easier to grip. That’s a fact.
In most instances it is true, but not a fact, proven by Aaron Rodgers. My guess is, if you have somewhat small hands you’d like the ball to have a little less air pressure. In college the ball is smaller, that’s one reason QBs/Kickers can do things in college, but they can’t in the NFL.
nice job piggy. that was hilarious.
this is not good.
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley
Jay Ajayi: Fumble. For all his potential, he’s been a bit of a disappointment so far.
A rookie in his 4th practice of TC? That’s why I’ve stressed Miller as our starter, not Ajayi because he put up huge numbers in college. The NFL is a different game. Miller is a 3 year vet and has gone through all this already.
I don’t disagree. I think willliams and even james will be a bigger part of this rushing attach than Ajayi. At least for the 1st half of the season.
Mike E, Darling pointed out that when the Mets lineup was weak and struggling they were swinging at balls out of the strike zone. Since the new additions and getting some guys back healthy they’re not doing that now. The result is more favorable counts and putting more pressure on opposing pitchers.
Yep
It’s crazy how the entire dynamic has changed.

The patriots were guilty of filming practices
So I’m not getting the distinction you are making with OD’s statement
What do you think spygate was about?
In terms of the wells report and the articles (and patriots)response
You can believe that if you want to
But I think you are dead wrong
THe wells report (which I read) set out a logical sequence of facts that would have lead a reasonable person to beleive that Tom Brady directed some one to deflate footballs
The wells report found that more likely than not a Brady directed the equipment guys to take air out of the footballs
Different reports and the patriots funding their own response, which was fairly ludicrous, may lead you to doubt the wells report findings
But doubt is not recent here
But that is not the legal standard applied here
The legal standard is preponderance of the evidence
Not beyond reasonable doubt
you can find flaws in the process and still think it’s likely Brady did what he is accused of
So raising doubt is irrelevant
The question is whether you look at the facts you know and think it’s more likely or not that Brady directed the equipment managers to deflate the footballs
I think the subject is a bit tired by now
I really don’t want to debate it
This piece is just for fun and not to be taken too seriously
Whether you are convinced with the misdirection and alternative arguments coming our of New England is your business
But I find it hard to believe that hiding/destroying evidence clears anyone, in fact quite the contrary
where are u getting your facts NE wasn’t guilty of filming practices. They were guilty of filming defensive signals against the Jets from the sidelines during a game. The commissioner sent out a memo which the pats said they never received the memo outlawing filming from the sidelines. It said something to the effect teams can record from the booth only from now on. It was never illegal to steal signals from opponents but when Goodall became commissioner he thought it was for the better to restrict where teams can record.
What is the point of talking about the difference between filing practice or defensive signals in game?
Who cares either way
It’s breaking rules
I can’t wait to see James in the preseason

Jamar Taylor has been very good today. Blankets Matthews in the end zone, forcing incompletion.
Jetssuck I don’t get you man. You seem to be taking exception to just about anything most phin fans would support. I also think your defense of Brady is less than objective. He destroyed a cell phone that he knew was going to be the subject of an investigation. The Pats had an equipment manager that referred to himself as the deflator. The balls went missing after they were inspected by the league. The Pats were guilty of filming other teams walk thrus. They did film other teams signals. But go keep defending them.
I’m sorry you are wrong they were not guilty of filming walk thrus.
Jetssuck I don’t get you man. You seem to be taking exception to just about anything most phin fans would support.——I am a independent thinker who only views things as objective and I can easily view things objectively but I don’t because the world might still be flat. Sort of like a lawyer I would guess. LOL
I am off to court. Peace.
The team is getting in football shape and getting ready for the season. My biggest concern is they get out of TC and the PS without serious injuries.
It very well may be a common practice for celebrities to destroy their phones but Brady was able to provide the phone he used prior to the now infamous deflategate phone so the fact his prior phone was still alive and kicking makes it pretty suspicious he destroyed the phone that could potentially exonerate him on or around the day it was supposed to be examined by the investigator.
It’s just another piece of circumstantial evidence, along with the equipment guy giving himself the moniker “the deflator” and the equipment guy having gone against protocol by taking the balls into the bathroom, and the guy getting signed stuff from Brady and texts which make it appear he was getting autographed stuff in return for something.
The Wells report is full of holes scientifically, no doubt, but there is far too many facts of human behavior to believe nothing happened. If the Pets had taken some responsibility it would have been over and done with quickly. Instead they attacked the league and obstructed the investigation with a holier than thou attitude. That is what this is about now.
Jetssuck, not sure where this Pats defense is coming from but they filmed the Rams’ practices before the Super Bowl. It’s always something with this team.
No they were not they were accused but never proven. The film intern never supplied the tape. The Boston paper that supplied the story retracted it.
But it’s always them. Believe what you want. I’m done with the conversation. Not going to spend all day talking about a cheating franchise lead by an insecure coach.
I was reading about Spygate the other day and there are a lot of misconceptions about what the Pets actually did. I can’t remember the article but I think Jetssuck may be right in that they didn’t film walkthrus.
I find it very odd everyone except u and me don’t know what the spygate was about.

we have to see them in a preseason game. IT seems to me that in TC tanny is getting sacked a bunch. So from the tweets I’ve read the oline has a lot of work to do.
It’s practice. If our DL wasn’t getting pressure and sacks I’d be worried being that it’s the strength of the team.
Think about how much experience this OL has together. Not much! There really is nothing you can do to speed up that process other than keep working.
The 2007 New England Patriots videotaping controversy, widely dubbed “Spygate”,[1][2] refers to an incident during the National Football League’s (NFL) 2007 season when the New England Patriots were disciplined by the league for videotaping New York Jets’ defensive coaches’ signals during a September 9, 2007 game. Videotaping opposing coaches is not illegal in the NFL but there are designated areas allowed by the league to do such taping. The Patriots were videotaping the Jets’ coaches from their own sideline which is not allowed. The act was deemed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to be in violation of league rules, causing him to say when penalizing the Patriots that this episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid long-standing rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field. After an investigation, the NFL fined Patriots head coach Bill Belichick $500,000 (the maximum allowed by the league and the largest fine ever imposed on a coach in the league’s 87-year history) for his role in the incident, fined the Patriots $250,000, and docked the team their original first-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft which would have been the 31st pick of the draft.[3] The fine garnered significant media attention for being the “maximum amount” an individual could be fined.
**************************************************
Nearly six months after the incident, the Boston Herald reported, citing an unnamed source, that the Patriots had also videotaped the St. Louis Rams’ walkthrough practice prior to Super Bowl XXXVI in February 2002,[7] an allegation denied by Belichick[6] and later retracted by the Herald. Meanwhile, Matt Walsh, a Patriots video assistant in 2001 who was fired after the team’s 2002 season, told the media the same week that he had information and materials regarding the Patriots’ videotaping practices, but demanded an indemnity agreement before speaking with the NFL.[8]
The NFL reached a deal with Walsh on April 23, 2008 and arranged a meeting between Goodell and Walsh.[9] Prior to the meeting, Walsh sent eight videotapes, containing opponents’ coaches’ signals from the 2000 through 2002 seasons, in accordance with the agreement.[10] Goodell and Walsh met on May 13, 2008, at which time Walsh told Goodell he and other Patriots employees were present at the Rams’ walkthrough to set up video equipment for the game but that there was no tape of the walkthrough made; as a result, Goodell told the media no additional penalties would be brought against the Patriots.[11] Less than 24 hours later, the Herald issued an apology for the article about the alleged walkthrough tape.[12]
Why did the Pats lose a 1st rd pick and Belichick fined 500K?

Kind of an interesting site where they go over every teams cheating moves throughout the years.
LMAO @ your team cheats .com
lol, it’s pretty amusing looking at each team’s peccadillos.
NFL commissioner and former Jets public relations intern Roger Goodell.—–this I didn’t know. He must have kissed a lot of ass to go from intern to commissioner so quickly. Our coach Philbin went to the same school as Goodall as reported by Joe Rose. Good connection to have.
I hadn’t realized that he was a stinkin Jest either, lol.

I say like as well. Um drives me crazy though. They were interviewing Michael Conforto after the Mets game last night, he must have said “um” about 50 times in 2 minutes. That drives me crazy.
Overuse drives me crazy too. Similar to “know what I’m saying”. If you say that every other sentence I don’t care what you’re saying.

In spygate the commish found the the cheats were guilty of filming signals during the game
But during the controversy they were accused of filing practices (by the rams)
But the league did not punish them for that and there wasn’t stronghold enough to support the allegation
More importantly
Why mention that distinction
If I go to court and say my client didn’t stab some one, they shot some one – my client is going to jail
This is the patriots typical defenses
“Everyone else is doing”
“You have the facts a little wrong”
There is a typo on the wells report”…lol

Yes, once again I do know what you’re saying.
So you have no regrets, not one? LOL
Mike
Good explanation of spygate
Essentially filing practices was an allegation that was not proven or punished
The patriots were punished for filing signals during a game
So Jetssuck is correct
I just don’t see why making that distinction will change the substance of the conversation or what anyone thinks about the patriots
Why did the Pats lose a 1st rd pick and Belichick fined 500K?
Because Goodell was flexing his New Commissioner muscles. He had sent out a memo NOT to film from the sidelines, and Belichick didn’t obey. That’s what it seems like to me.
I have to admit that I wasn’t up on the reality of what Spygate actually was. Also, the fact that they were allowed to film the signals, but just not from the location of the sidelines kinfd of minimizes the “crime” of it to me as well.
I think I have forgotten
And over time you start to believe what you hear
But I don’t think it really matters
what’s really weird about the whole thing it was the 1st game of the season and league wide new rules have to be approved by the nfl owners and this wasn’t. Was the memo sent lost or never receivedor maybe the new commissioners secretary didn’t know how to send correctly a group email or forgot to add NE in group.
I understand the rule but if both sides are given the same leeway then no harm. Now imagine if you are visiting team and you are only allowed to film from press box which is always located behind the home team. The visiting team will only see the signal callers back—Is this a disadvantage?
Yep, but if I recall correctly they had their videographer wearing team authorized clothing of the opposition to gain access to the opposite sideline.
sounds like reshad jones is balling. I’m so glad we have him.
Guy played at an All-Pro level last year. Really reorganized himself after becoming a first time father and seeing a drop in his play in 2013.
And a suspension the first 4 games last year.
Yep. 2012 we saw that he had a chance to be a star. Last year he was a star. This year he’ll get recognition as one of the best in the game.
Mike, and Belichick didn’t obey. Gee I’m shocked.
Quarterback Tom Brady was suspended four games without pay, and the Patriots lost two draft picks (a 2016 first-rounder and a 2017 fourth-rounder) and will be fined $1 million, the NFL announced Monday.
Did everyone forget this? This was all about nothing. LOL
Just to give you some context
Roger Goodell became the commish in the summer of 2006 before 06 season
Spygate hit the fan the following summer
I’m not a huge fan of Goodell
He has always been heavy handed
But it’s not like the patriots have been singled out
Before spygate ever happened in 2006 the commissioner announced a pretty sweeping personal conduct policy as his first action
And that has opened the door for unprecedented punishment
Goodell has probably (just a guess) fined and suspended more players/coaches and organizations than anyone before him
That is kind of who Goodell is
It just doesn’t only apply to the patriots
In the patriots case, though, the controversies seem to involve the rules of the game
IMO the patriots have earned their reputation
If you ask me the Martin/incognito contraversy is more out of the norm than anything the patriots have ever been involved with. The way players talk to each other in practice or during the game doesn’t really have a history prior to Goodell of being punished
Bottom line is the NFL is making more money now than ever before by a wide margin, so he’s not going anywhere.
I don’t know about that
I do think enough people are upset with him to at least make some noise
But you might be right, the owners might think he is making them $ and they might love him bc of it
And that is what matters
For the first few games back after suspension last season Rashad Jones was playing great
But it seemed to fade
It would be great to see him out together a probowl season this year
I think he can
He needs to stay on the field
And be consistent
I thought he was one of our best defensive players throughout the year. These guys all are pretty talented. What we need is some leadership on the defense. Basically what philbin was talking about. IF the offense goes down and throws an INT the defense doesn’t just give up and let the other team go down and score. It seems to me that’s the big issue with this team specially down the stretch when the games really matter is the lack of leadership.
I remember last year he said he was playing at a pro bowl level.I guess he thought he was the best instead of letting others determine that
I think his level of play was excellent, but losing Delmas, Thomas, etc was too much for him to cover for.
I’m sure the injuries around him were a big factor
I just though he made impact plays in Oct/nov and I didn’t notice him so much late in the year
Piggy, nobody was making plays on defense late in the year. The entire unit was spent. The pass rush totally disappeared.
Good job with the oddyssey Piggy. I don’t read ahead even when I see articles are scheduled, but last night I was getting OD’s article ready for tomorrow and I was laughing at the pics I could see in the media files. Always fun to see what’s in there. lol
Reshad isn’t part of the problem on defense. It was a lot of other things, mostly as far as he was concerned, all the injuries to our CB’s and other safeties.
Lack of pass rush hung them out to dry. We were top 5 in sacks after 10 games with ‘like’ 30 and had ‘like’ 9 the last 6 games.
here’s something you can talk about—–why is the team practicing in the early morning instead of high noon? Is this because of the CBA or its a coaches decision? I remember during Parcells era they would practice during the hottest portion of the day..
It’s all about protecting the players now. I’d say that’s the deal right there.
Yep, after a few camp deaths over the years a lot has changed.
I don’t think the new CBA permits practice at the same time every say
I do think they can get some high noon practices in
Im just speculating
But I recall some restorations on practices in the new CBA
Not sure of time of practice is one of them
One question. If the taping of signals was no big deal and no practices or walkthroughs were taped, why was Goodell so quick to destroy all the evidence without exposing it to public scrutiny? There was much more to the Cheatriots chicanery than the NFL was willing to admit. ..IMO
It’s not exactly not a big deal
Belichcick was aware of the rule and said his interpretation of the rule was not that it prohibited taping of signals
But that it prohibited taping of signals for use in the same game
But otherwise a team was allowed to tape signals for future use
Let that sink it and consider how silly it is
This things gets watered down in time
In part bc of back room deals and destruction of evidence
So tell me again why destroying a phone is not a big deal
We will never know what was in those tapes
We will never know what was on Brady’s phone
after years of thinking about that very question I believe Goodall knew he was wrong and didn’t want the public or league to know what a mistake he made. I used to think maybe the league was maybe compromised by organized crime with signals being stolen electronically and the NFL didn’t want to deal with its product destroyed. It would be really hard to steal the signals electronically and then relay them to the field in 40 seconds
Herd
Did you notice “Lester” has a butterfly tattoo
I though it was a nice touch
Very nice. He looks as crooked as his stache! lol
“Polian said videotape of sideline signals could be conceivably matched to game footage to decipher codes. Such a process might provide the type of advantage former Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson described during an interview with USA TODAY shortly after he retired in 2005.
“Every now and then I’d get a sheet, one hour before the game, with a list of audibles for our opponent,” Johnson said in November 2005. “I don’t know how, but they just showed up.”
I guess the game isn’t won between the lines as much as we think. Maybe we should hire a statistical genius like “billy ball” and we can have him decipher signals. I believe the defense is having defense captains have receiving devices in helmet where they can get signal in their helmets from sideline.

Dolphins O-line coach John Benton said he hopes to see “a steady progression, a more consistent player” from Ja’Wuan James.
“The allegation most assiduously avoided by the Patriots and the NFL was the one regarding the Patriots use of an alternative radio frequency (compared to the one specified by the NFL) to communicate between the coaches and the quarterback. As “following the money” opened up the Watergate investigation, “following the radio frequency” might be the same in Spygate.
The NFL pre-assigns a private frequency to each team so that the other team cannot hear the communications, but more importantly because they want to monitor such team communications for any other evidence of cheating or unauthorized use of the radio system (eg, only one player, the QB, is permitted to have a receiver in their helmet).
The fact (unsubstantiated, but heavily rumored and traced to individuals close to the Patriot organization) that the Patriots were communicating on another frequency (unavailable to the NFL) was key to the concealment of their scheme for stealing the other teams defensive signals AND communicating them to their QB.
The conspiracy of silence around this allegation, after it was reported several times (including Chris Mortensen of ESPN) even PRIOR TO Spygate, seems to confirm that the NFL was covering up what was really happening. They were in a perfect position to substantiate and follow up on this violation of NFL rules in many games, yet it seems as if the Patriots use of their own frequency was dismissed as a technical snafu or team preference. Also note that the NFL’s radio frequency was disabled 20 seconds prior to the the start of each play to prevent last second communications.
This radio communication angle really needs to be explored much more deeply and exposed. It makes the videotaping violations all the more egregious, since the electronics gave the coaches much greater leverage to benefit from their cheating.”
Also note that the NFL’s radio frequency was disabled 20 seconds prior to the the start of each play to prevent last second communications.
————————————————————————–
It would be very hard to call a play and set everyone up and get the play off in 20 seconds or even less if the defense is delayed any amount of time. Maybe that’s why the hurry up offense was used so much?
Bat, it’s always something with the Pats and it’s never real, they’re always unfairly criticized because of their success. Yeah that’s what it is! LOL
It’s hard to argue with the success they have had since belicheck started there. What is it 14 out 15 division titles.I can’t remember a coach having this much success. The guy fooled the entire NFL,the Ravens, best referee’s of NFL, and replay team in NY about a formation that was legal.
If you’re impressed with bending the rules and cheating. I am not.
This year that formation will be illegal

“They have all improved to a point,” John Benton said of the Dolphins guards. “But I don’t think I’m impressed yet.”
Jetssuck … That’s just the point. The Cheats were operating on their own radio frequency which was inaccessible to the NFL and not shut down.
no where in the reports does it mention Electronic frequencies irregular to the rules. I don’t say it isn’t possible but highly unlikely. For the records all frequencies are identifiable within limited spaces with the right equipment. Did they tap into the teams communication system I don’t now but like I said anything is possible now a days

“The fact (unsubstantiated, but heavily rumored and traced to individuals close to the Patriot organization) that the Patriots were communicating on another frequency (unavailable to the NFL) was key to the concealment of their scheme for stealing the other teams defensive signals AND communicating them to their QB.”
According to Jetssuck, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s not a duck. :P. I’m just kidding buddy. The reality is the NFL can do whatever it wants within the confines of the powers the owners give. Brady and the Pats were uncooperative during the investigation so it gave the impression that they had something to hide. Ted Wells was deemed an independent investigator and he gave language that it was was ‘probable’ that there was shenanigans going on and that Brady probably knew about it. If he was biased, he would have just thrown Belichick under the bus while he was at it. The reality is, innocent till proven guilty is only a criminal court logic. That logic doesn’t fly in civil courts where reasonable doubt doesn’t apply. Now going back to the NFL, it is a private enterprise who can establish whatever rules they want and enforce it however they feel like it as agreed to by the players association which let Goodell have more discretionary power in the last CBA. As for Kraft and any notion that he might have Goodell removed; good luck. The most influentual owner might be Jerry Jones and he has consistently said that he loves Roger. Stephen Ross, 2nd wealthiest owner behind Paul Allen (Seahawks), was asked about Goodell the other day and he threw his support for him. Kraft won’t be able to find enough owners to support his cause.
I tend to think the other owners are very upset about the way Kraft has handled this
Your reasonable doubt statement is pretty much what I said
So I agree
when you are not throwing some one in jail
You can use your good ole common sense to draw your conclusion
I don;t think its wise to presume people as innocent
I’m personally much too jaded for that…lol
Most people are going to think that if a organization doesn’t comply with an investigation and demonostrate transpearancy, that they are hiding something
Honestly I don;t think PSIs are a huge deal
I think the Patriots obstructing the investigation, issuing a response , theatening to go to federal court (which undercuts the commisioners powers) and destroying a phone is
the punishment probably reflects a response to that more than anything else
Agreed. I’ve always seen the current disciplinary measure as a response to non-cooperation in this investigation with consideration to past behavior.
Kraft said he accepted the fine and wanted to get this thing over. Then when goodall changed evrything about the case into the destoying of the phone as enough evidence things got real personal. Do you think you would trust the NFL offices if you had a extramartial affair sms messages on your phone.Do you believe that they could keep everything private when they already leaked info to the press. I believe this is a personal spat between goodall and brady or goodall and kraft. Goodall was a intern with jets maybe brady was doing goodalls GF when he was a intern who knows. That’s been the constant message coming from this team since the offseason. Whether they do it or not is one thing, but that’s the goal, not just having a winning record.
I think they feel they’re close and can play with anyone, but lacked some parts and consistency and now they feel they’re even closer.
shouldn’t that be the goal every year? did philbin just figure out what his job description is after 4 years?
Tim,
Going back to your point on the ‘Spygate’ settlement as it applies to ‘deflategate’, why would the Patriots take a preemptive disciplinary move as a means to receive less punishment from the NFL and also expect the NFL to negotiate disciplinary matters (as it relates to Kraft/Patriots claim that they made an offer; NFL didn’t counter offer)?
If you are 100% clean, you don’t even bother taking a pre-emptive move.
That’s what I’m saying, it reeks of bullshit and anyone who doesn’t see it has an agenda.
The Pats have lost two 1st round draft picks, a 4th and have been fined $1.5M for doing nothing. LMAO!!!!
” if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s not a duck.” But if it weighs the same as a duck it IS a witch.

here’s one for u guys? Do you think any drones will make into the stadiums this year?
If we’ve had people glide over a game before then I’m sure a drone will be attempted or has been already.
Boulder, some teams aren’t ready to compete for a championship though yes that’s the ultimate goal. The Mets the last 4 years knew they were going to lose until they had certain things in place. You just looking for a reason to bash Philbin? He’s not the only guy in the organization.
I know. I like to bash philbin, or yank his chain 🙂
Boulder,
Speaking of Philbin, made a math analogy this morning. He said last year was Algebra 1 & 2 under Lazor’s scheme and that this year they were getting into Trigonometry. I was like ‘trigonometry? If you aren’t heading into Calculus 2 at this stage you might be finding your way out of town lol.
It’s only the beginning of the 2nd season. I only expect Tannehill and Moore and a few others to really have this offense down. A lot of new OL personnel and skill players. It’s totally knew to them. Hopefully by the 3rd PS game they’re where you want them to be. 🙂

just making a example of why people would want to destroy a mobile phone with all the sophisticated hacking techniques available now a days.
Kraft has a funny way of accepting the fine and league punishment
what’s a million for this guy I believe he’s a billionaire. The guy is probably more concerned with marketing revenues lost because of the bad press..
I mean that he did not accept the leagues findings as you stated above
he did everything to protest them
releasing multiple statements questioning the initial wells report, then the decision after the appeal
he funded his own response to the wells report
then backtracked and said he supported the league
but left the response continue to run the the Patriots website
He also clearly endorsed the refusal to provide a witness to wells, in other words not cooperating, by suggesting that it was not okay to provide the witness again after being provided several times int he past
Kraft has been pretty anti-NFL and anti-Goodell during this entire process
You might be able to find a diplomatic statment by him
but his actions say otherwise
I’m sure he has upset his business partners (the other owners of the NFL)
Kraft accepted the league’s punishment against the team hoping if he did that, they would lessen or take away the punishment against Brady. A $1 million fine for him is like taking $5 from my wallet. The draft pick isn’t a huge deal because they have a good team in place and will likely be picking in low in the 1st round anyway.
good explanation
Do you think that is Kraft accepting the punishment?
He publicly said, as Tim says below, he accepted the fine in hopes it would lead to a reduced fine for Brady
then after the appeal – he has gone back to criticizing the NFl
He is not accepting this by any stretch of the imagination
he actually funded the response (to the wells report) that was published and it is being run on the patriots website
He said that publicly that he did it to exonerate Tom. What he didn’t realize was Tom handled all of this poorly.

On fifth-round pick Jay Ajayi, Tannenbaum said: “There are things we like about him, but if he can’t pass protect, he will never be active. I don’t care how talented he is between the tackles. If Jay Ajayi can’t pass protect, he won’t be active.””
Straight shooter! unlike Ireland lol.
That’s how all teams feel. Especially when you’re a heavy pass team.
I read that earlier- pretty harsh words. I don’t understand why the real GM is making those statements. Shouldn’t that be the coaches decision, and shouldn’t he be the one commenting on that?
He was probably asked that. I’ve heard many coaches and GMs say that over the years.
I get that, but shouldn’t a proper response be “that’s up to the coaches to decide”?
I’m sure that’s probably how philbin feels. You can’t pass protect you can’t play because the opponent know its a run play when you’re in.

just making a example of why people would want to destroy a mobile phone with all the sophisticated hacking techniques available now a days.
——–
I think the issue the NFL had was the timing of the phone destruction.
“I replaced my broken Samsung phone with a new iPhone 6 AFTER my attorneys made it clear to the NFL that my actual phone device would not be subjected to investigation under ANY circumstances. As a member of a union, I was under no obligation to set a new precedent going forward, nor was I made aware at any time during Mr. Wells investigation, that failing to subject my cell phone to investigation would result in ANY discipline,” Brady wrote on Facebook.
As for the NFL’s disciplinary matters (from constitutionalcenter.org’s blog)
“If this sounds like a Fourth Amendment issue, the concept is related. The amendment famously states that people have the right “to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures” and such information can only be inspected via a warrant.
But as Goodell would be the first person to acknowledge, the Brady investigation as a civil workplace matter doesn’t give the NFL any direct legal power to compel Brady to surrender evidence, such as cellphone records.
In Goodell’s 20-page statement on the Brady matter, Goodell said that “neither the NFL or any NFL member club has subpoena power or other means to compel production of relevant materials or testimony.”
However, Goodell also said that under the collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the player’s union, the NFL can consider the extent of cooperation of league or club employees during a workplace investigation in evaluating sanctions.
Goodell cited Article 46 of the collective bargaining agreement as granting the commissioner the power to discipline players for conduct “detrimental to the integrity of, or public confidence in the game of professional football.”
The commissioner’s conclusion was that the case evidence “fully” supported that Brady played part in a plan to alter the game balls and that Brady obstructed the investigation by having one of his cellphones destroyed.
If you are innocent, you KEEP your cell phone to submit the texts in question as evidence.
if I’m correct 1st amendment might come into affect also.

Tim,
How many teams has he played for before us?
Not sure what you’re asking?
The same thing was discussed about David Wilson of the Giants before he had to retire. It wasn’t just fumbles, his pass pro was lacking and he was in and out of the lineup because of it.
Pass pro for a RB is an important quality for a RB all across the league. That’s why Daniel Thomas got the nod over other backs that fans and media wanted to see get a chance instead. Not if you can’t pass protect.
The way you wrote it read like many coaches and GM’s said that about Ajayi!

“Hopefully I can get them better and they can make me better by pushing them as well, just like I expect Pouncey to do the same.”

My understanding is that Jay Ajayi was a pretty good at pass protection at Boise state
Is he not doing so well in camp now
That’s what I remembered hearing, that he was good at catching passes and protecting the passer, which is why some here prematurely predicted his unseating Miller for the starting RB position (not going to happen).
