from Tim
Q – Okay week one, which receivers do you see being targeted the most? This includes TEs and RBs. I ask this because I want to know the fucking answer. LOL
Thank you!
I think Jarvis Landry will be the main target this week, and almost always unless proven otherwise. Tannehill and Landry are on the same page, and Landry gets open, and makes the catch, and fights for extra yardage every time.
I do think Greg Jennings will get some targets, and be on the field a lot. He runs great routes, and is a guy who knows how to play the game, and although last year in Minnesota, he had a down year, I expect bigger things this year from Jennings.
I also expect Jordan Cameron to get some big targets. he’s tough to cover down the seam, if Tannehill can find him open, he has potential to make some big plays. I think that’s what Cameron does best. I don’t think he’s a Mark Bavaro type, where you hit him with a 5 yard pass, and then he drags 3 guys for a 15 yard gain. He’s dangerous when he breaks open and gets good separation, because he has the speed to take one all the way.
I think MillerTime will get 2-5 passes on Sunday as well, and I think Damien Williams, Miller’s backup will also get a couple of targets. Still, I think it’s Jarvis Landry that will get the most opportunities.

Q – When the season is over do you think we will regret not taking the best available O-Lineman in the 2nd round.
I really hope not. I went back to take a look at who was available in the 2nd RD, but we also have to remember we traded back from RD 2 Pick 15 with the Eagles, to get 2 5th RD picks, and move down to RD 2 Pick 20.
We took DT Jordan Phillips at pick #52, and and there were no OL taken in between pick #47 (our original pick) and pick #52 (Jordan Phillips). Mitch Morse (OG), who I personally had no interest in at that point was taken at #49 by the Chiefs. Jake Fisher (OT) was taken by the Bengals at pick #53, right after we took Jordan Phillips. Fisher is a guy I wanted the Dolphins to draft.
As it turns out, Jake Fisher appears to be the heir apparent to the LT spot when Andrew Whitworth is done in Cincinnati, which is likely 2016, when Whitworth becomes an UFA.
I think the biggest piece to this puzzle or question, is how Branden Albert does this season. This was/has been one of my worries since before the draft. It seems doubtful #76 will be in the lineup Week 1 against the Skins, but all reports have been good, and Albert has been doing a little more each week, without any setbacks. Now it’s not just a matter of Branden Albert getting into the lineup, but to me, it’s that when he is in the lineup, he’s something close to the player he’s been previously, and not like Jake Long was at the end of his career in MIA. If he’s not effective, or healthy, or both, and we need to move either Jason Fox or Dallas Thomas to LT, and then move Jamil Turner to LG, and Billy Turner to RG, I think we might be in some trouble.
Most fans seem to have taken Albert coming back for granted, but I’m not one of them. If the O-line keeps us from what I think we can be, then YES, I think we should have taken an OL instead of a DT, Jordan Phillips. My guess is the OL will have been more valuable to us this year then the DT. Clearly, Earl Mitchell and Suh are the starters, and Jordan Phillips is the next guy in the rotation, but if big #76 isn’t right for us this season, I’ll be seriously regretting that pick. Hopefully, that’s not that the case Randy.

Q – What’s your over/under for sacks against the Redskins?
And while we are at it, how about their rushing yards?
Yeah……I’m thinking might be a whole different world in both categories.
stanger
I think Kirk Cousins is a pretty smart guy, and I’m sure he’s done his homework on our Dolphins defense. That being said, I’m sure the OC realizes that they don’t want to ask too much of Cousins, and have designed a lot of plays where the ball comes out quickly. The last thing they want is our defense all over Cousins because he’s holding the ball too long. However, neither the OC or Cousins really knows what they’re up against.
I would say the over/under for sacks against the Redskins should be 4.
As far as rushing yards, I would expect OD’s favorite, Alfred Morris to be a big part of their offense. He’s going to get a lot of carries, but not with great success. My guess is, unless they fall behind really fast, that Morris gets between 20-25 carries, but the over/under for yards should be about 70. It’s gonna be tough out there for big Alfred, as the Dolphins defense will not be offering much in the way of rushing lanes. I expect a volume of carries with little success.

Q – Mike
If they weren’t the first game on our schedule, I might be stating on a
daily basis that the Redskins are the worst team in the NFL, that they had a
horrible offseason and that they would be lucky to win 4 games this
season.
But they are our week 1 opponent. So I go into “don’t get over
confident” mindset even though I have no control of what happens on the field.
This is of course to protect myself from being let down, which is of course
inevitable if we lose, even if I expected to lose.
This is the damage I do
to my psychology every football year. I know I’m not the only one. What is
wrong with Dolfans? Are you willing to go in the record and call a win over the
Redskins a sure thing. Or are you as dysfunctional as the rest of us? Really
how bad are the Redskins?
Pigsgerald
I don’t think we’re going to lose, even if Branden Albert doesn’t start, (He says he’s starting). I could even say even if Branden Albert does play, because I don’t expect him to be in there all that much. Either way, I think, like you, the Redskins are a hot mess. If we want to be contenders, you take a team like the Redskins, and you bet them, beat them good. I’ll take a sloppy win, but I don’t think that happens Sunday against the Redskins. I expect an all around thrashing. I
I picked 30-6, and I meant it. We’re going to be all over them this week, without necessarily “running it up” on them. Joe won’t keep his foot on the accelerator all game, and we’ll be running the clock midway through the 3rd QTR until the game is over. We’ll be up by 17-20 points at halftime.
Just relax, and understand we’ve built a pretty good team. Think of this. Devante Parker is now healthy, and ready to go, and he’s like the 5th string WR. Of course he missed a lot of time, but we’re not desperate for his services! We have a nice corps of WR’s now, with Jennings and Stills and Landry, even if I think it’s Landry, Jennings and Stills. Our defense will be ravenous, and and will ravage the Redskins. Lamar Miller is going to have a nice day against the Skins. Jordan Cameron is going to make a couple of big plays. I expect at least 2 INT’s, and a fumble recovery. We will win the TO battle.
I’m confident we will win, and win strong on Sunday. Maybe it’s me who needs to be committed. lol

Q – Deer Axe Mike,
With Brandon Albert confirming to start Sunday @ Washington, do you think the coaching staff & trainers are pushing Albert in too fast?
We’d sure hate to see a setback or poor play due to not being a 100%, just a lil over 10 months since tearing both ACL & MCL.
Serendipity,
GetterDone Phins!
I think if Jason Fox wasn’t concussed, Fox would be starting, so in that regard, YES, I do think they are letting circumstances dictate the terms a bit. On the other hand, like I mentioned above to Pigsgerald, I don’t think for a second Albert will play the entire game, and despite his “starting” status, I don’t think he’s in there for more than a series or two or three. They don’t want/need to push Albert too far Sunday, and I don’t think they will. We’ll see a lot of movement on the line, with Dallas Thomas probably playing some LT, along with Jamil Douglas moving to LG, and Billy Turner at RG. I think Jeff Linkenbach might even play some LT Sunday. I think it’s really unrealistic to expect Branden Albert to go the entire game this quick, and he won’t. We’ll need big #76 to be in shape, so consider this his first preseason game. He’ll play for a few series, and then out he goes, as he leaves it in the hands of the aforementioned Thomas and/or Linkenbach.

So far no bite on the Kaepernick for Tanny trade offer lol. But someone did cut Eli Manning so im going to try to drop Kaepernick pickup Manning and change the trade offer Eli for Tanny.

I’m loathe to admit it, but I’ve never hated the Bills outside of when we are playing them. I’ve actually admired that organization and those fans since the Kelly/Marino days.
Jets/Pats is a totally different story.

AND THAT is going to be the BEST part of having Mr Jennings here this year.. His shared wealth of experience .. Teach the Pups how to be Great and Professional
Also make some plays himself because he can still play.
I think Jennings is going to be more involved in this offense than some people think.
Mike E, I agree on Jennings being more a part of the offense as well. I think RT will find him open and reliable.
Jahn i think im the opposite but i have a personal history with that town and those fans. They also to me were the biggest adversary we ever had and i didnt respect much of what they did. Credit where credit is due for Kelley and how good of a QB he was, but he also had nothing on Marino other than a fucking beast of a team around him.I do feel empathy for Kelley and his condition, and now i think of him differently, but when he was a player i never liked him much.
In my eyes, my hatred is in this order, Bills, Jets, then Pats, due im most part to thats also generally the rankings those teams were during my most influential days watching as a kid. Some of what i have felt for the Bills has died down a little, and the Jets and Pats have definately risen, but order remains the same, they are just a little bit closer to one another in how strongly i despise them.
Not saying Jennings won’t be a part of the offence, or calling him washed up… just think that he will be a great teacher for these young guns we have..
I didn’t mean to suggest that. Agreed on all accounts.

Teamates vow #Dolphins LT Branden Albert will return to Pro Bowl level. They’re also high on rookie RG Jamil Dougls
If he goes to Pro Bowl good chance Tanny does… Hopefully they are both Busy that week 🙂
I read an article can’t remember by who but he said Douglas is the best guard prospect in probably 50 years.
WOW, that’s saying something, especially for the round he was drafted in.
He didnt look that good in pre-season. Again, i think he looks more natural at OG than Turner, but he’s far from great at the position, and he definitely isnt as good a OG prospect as Sims was.
By not that good i meant, not the “best prospect in 50 years” level of good. He is starting caliber, but he is very far from a great OG at this point.
I like Jamil, but same time i think his spot as a starter is more about Turner just not being ready than it is him being really good. I think eventually they may go back to an idea of Turner as a LT more so than an OG. I wastched all the OL very closely and he looked the most unnatural/uncomfortable of all of them. Fox got beat athletically a bit but turner just looked confused. He really got worked on twist plays, pre-snap shifts and a few inside gap stunt plays. When he had a straight up assignment he did well, he has good physical traits too, just i dont think he gets the OG position.

Can the person who wrote the article remember who he is? lol
He was high i promise you that was a crazy statement.
You’d think if he was that good a prospect, someone else would have had him ranked higher than he was.
When I was younger (not young, I don’t remember ever being young anymore, LOL) I used to hate the Bills, I felt sorry for the lowly Pats, HATED the Colts and disliked the Jets (mostly because of their fans)
Then after the realignment of the league I stopped hating the Colts. The bills began to suck so I didn’t hate them so much anymore and the Jet’s became my most hated team.
I have never really hated the Pat’s. I can’t stand their HC or pussy QB or the preferential treatment (Only PERCEIVED preferential treatment, of course, they couldn’t possibly get real preferential treatment, no one would stand for that……..)
So now in order of hate it goes Jets, Bills, Pat’s

Jamar Taylor (thigh) also practiced on a limited basis. However, I expect he’ll be cleared to play on Sunday vs. The Redskins.

Jason Taylor, a member of the some of the best defensive lines in Dolphins history, doesn’t mince words when it comes to whether the 2015 defensive line could be as good as some of his crews.
“Be as good as us?” Taylor asked. “They should blow us away.”
Taylor, the likely Hall of Famer who was drafted in 1997 and retired after the 2011 season, isn’t alone in that opinion.
Tim Bowens, the ex-Dolphins wide-body defensive tackle who is a member of the franchise’s Walk of Fame, also thinks the 2015 defensive line of tackles Ndamukong Suh and Earl Mitchell, and ends Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon, could be better than his units, especially in the middle.
And when you add-in the backups — tackles C.J. Mosley, Jordan Phillips and A.J. Francis, and ends Derrick Shelby and Terrence Fede — the 2015 group becomes deeper and more talented.
The 2000 Dolphins defensive line, which featured run-stuffing tackles Bowens and Daryl Gardener, and pass-rushing ends Trace Armstrong (16.5 sacks) and Taylor (14.5 sacks), was a fearsome foursome, one of the best in team history. It was shutdown unit against the run and amassed 48 sacks, third-best in franchise history. That group led the Dolphins to an 11-5 record and an AFC East title.
The difference: In 2000, when the Dolphins played a 4-3 defensive scheme, just as they do now, Bowens and Gardener tied up defensive linemen so middle linebacker Zach Thomas could make the tackles.
The 2015 Dolphins want their tackles to push upfield and create havoc themselves.
“All you need is a takeoff,” said Bowens. “We couldn’t takeoff like that because we had to hold up.
“So, yeah, those inside guys will be a lot better than we were as far as rushing the passer and causing havoc in the backfield.”
Bowens, however, was slow to fully anoint the 2015 defensive line as better than his.
“As far as the ends, I don’t know, man, J.T. was one of the best; I don’t know if I can give them that one,” said Bowens, who played for the Dolphins from 1994-2004. “And ol’ Trace, he was veteran. So I don’t know about those ends yet.
“But as far as the inside, I’ll give that up to them because Suh, he’s one of the best, man. And then Earl, last year he came along, so he’s pretty good, too.”
This year’s defensive line has not just beaten, but dominated, every opponent from training camp through the preseason.
There’s a chance the defensive line could help this defense beat the franchise record of 49 sacks established in 1983 and matched in 2005.
David Bowens, the ex-Dolphins defensive end who had six sacks for the 2005 defensive line, second on the team behind Taylor’s 12, thinks the Dolphins’ pass rush should feast this season.
“When you have guys like Suh and OV [Vernon] and Cam, guys that get after the passer,” he said, “they’re just licking their chops right now.”
Praise for this defensive line goes beyond former Dolphins as well.
“This front four can rock you, man,” said Jon Gruden, the ESPN analyst who won a Super Bowl with a defensive-minded Tampa Bay team.
“These guys are really good rushing the passer. I just watched them against Atlanta [in the preseason finale]. They can create a lot of problems with their games and with their energy.”
And that’s where their priority lies — creating major problems.
“I don’t want to ever be a part of a defensive line, and a part of a team that just kind of shows flashes,” said Suh, who joined the Dolphins on a 6-year, $114 million deal this offseason. “I want to be consistent each and every single day, each and every single game, going out there and showing dominance.
“That’s the biggest focus, in my opinion.”
Taylor, whose 139.5 career sacks rank sixth in NFL history, said he’s pulling for the 2015 Dolphins defensive line.
“I want Cameron Wake to be way better than I ever was, and he already is, really,” said Taylor, whose name is on the Dolphins’ Honor Roll at Sun Life Stadium. “Suh being here, and OV on the edge, Earl in the middle.
“The potential is endless.”
I love the comments by Suh….he’ll really rub off on the youngins too!

I remember when we picked Douglas in the 4th on day 3 and Son said there’s your guard so now you can all STFU! LOL
I remember looking at his tape, wondering how he lasted that long. After we took him I felt better about taking Phillips in the 2nd.
Suh has been saying all the right things, doing all the right things on the field, and has been better than advertised. What happened to the guy that stepped on a QB last yr and has gotten suspended a few times? He sure doesn’t seem to be that guy. Maybe the FO said, I’m going to make you the highest paid Dlineman in the history of the NFL, but you need to be a role model and stop with the foolishness.
Maybe he’s maturing and controlling his emotions better or he hasn’t played enough games yet. LOL
What’s the over/under on team sacks this yr for one game? I say 7.5, and think there’s a good chance we get 8 one game, and it could be Sunday.
I just realized, where is Randy? He hasn’t been on here in a while that I remember. Did someone piss him off, I mean like really really piss him off?
Yeah, but that’s beside the point. Our Dline is so good he’s not needed any longer 😉
I’ve wondered about that to. I know he felt he was pissing on everyone’s Kool Aide party even though I don’t think that people were down on him for that, just that they didn’t agree with him on Tannehill who he’s not overly impressed with.
Fans from our division should get together and boo Brady every second he’s on the field in the 3 visiting stadiums. Then chant we’re not going to take it…

Part of 10 Bold Predictions from Yahoo’s Frank Schwab
The Miami Dolphins will have a three-game lead in the AFC East for a Week 8 game at New England
The Dolphins have a really easy early-season schedule. The Patriots at least have Tom Brady back, but their early schedule is pretty tough. Wouldn’t it be fun for a 6-0 Dolphins team to be coming into New England for an Oct. 29 Thursday night game against the 3-3 Patriots?
We’ll have two 20-sack players, even though J.J. Watt and Justin Houston won’t get there
Watt and Houston each reached 20 sacks last season, the first time in NFL history that two players reached 20 sacks in the same season. That will repeat, but with two different players. Miami Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake will have his career season with Ndamukong Suh occupying blockers, and Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller is going to have a heck of a contract year in Wade Phillips’ defense.
New England Patriots will miss the playoffs
Most years, a team that’s a consensus pick to walk into the playoffs has the wheels fall off and misses out on the postseason. It seems crazy to think that a team like the Patriots, who are so well coached with an all-time great quarterback, could just miss the playoffs, but ask Sean Payton and Drew Brees about that. I didn’t pick the Patriots to miss the playoffs (though I didn’t pick them to win the division), but you can talk yourself into a scenario in which it happens.
The Patriots are a Rob Gronkowski injury from having a pretty unimpressive group of skill-position players around 38-year-old Tom Brady. Their cornerbacks have taken a big drop, from the great Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to a lot of unproven commodities. The AFC East is the toughest division in football, and every team is gunning for the Patriots. And there’s a reason last season’s Seahawks were the first defending Super Bowl champ to win a playoff game since the 2005 season. It’s hard to keep that championship focus after winning it all. If another AFC East team takes a big step forward and wins the division, maybe this is the year the Patriots aren’t in the playoffs, no matter how strange that seems.

The Kansas City Chiefs will get a touchdown from a wide receiver
I chuckled at that too….it’s inevitable 😉
Yes, Douglas was a 4th round…I typo’d it. But potentially still a great pick by Hickey with questions in Thomas & Turner.
It could also potentially have been too little too late if he doesn’t get the job done.
Was there really anyone else in the draft who was a no-brainer?
Not sure if there is ever a no-brainer. Jake Fisher is a guy who can play T, and I really liked Ali Marpet as well. I think Marpet was this years Joel Bitonio, who happens to be doing very well. Marpet is also starting.

I’m in one fantasy league where I drafted:
Tanny, Miller, Landry, dolphins D, and wake (we have individ Defensive players int he league)
Piggs, my daughter got all of the Dolphins you got except they don’t have a defensive player.
“King of the Tannehill” was the runner up but she named her team:
Suh’s your Daddy now?
Nice!
Mike E, Marpet did win the starting RG job in TB but who’s to say he’s any better than Douglas who did the same thing? As we know draft status does not always determine better NFL players.
Fisher was not considered a guard prospect but like you said more of a tackle. He’s also been struggling with injuries all offseason.
So we’ll see if we did enough. So far in the PS I didn’t see anything to be alarmed about. We’ll see when we play the better defensive fronts. Hopefully we found a gem in Douglas and he’s a starter for us for a long time. He fits our ZBS very well.
Yep, agreed.
Tim
We’ll see how he does. My other problem was we had a chance to upgrade without destroying the cap (Evan Mathis), but we passed.
I was never on that bandwagon in a big way. I thought his name status and PFF rankings overrated him a bit and he’s not getting any younger. I don’t think you need to go bonkers at guard. People forget part of our problem last year was at center with Satele being overwhelmed too often. He’s not even on a team this year so that says a lot.
My best friend Scott (Steelers fan) just texted me to tell me he drafted Jarvis Landry and Lamar Miller, and what I thought of them. I told him he did really well with Landry, and that this should be a breakout year for Miller.
Miller’s breakout year was last year. But I do think he can take it to another level this year. He’s just 24 years old with not a lot of wear and tear on him and he’s ascending. we have a few young players on this path and that’s what we need to take this team to another level lead by Tannehill.
True, but I think he gets more opportunities this year. He could be a 1500-2000 yard total offense back this season

^Today’s randomn thought by FFR
some think that is a typo by ken, but he really likes his domn that much
If I only could be unchained.
Piggy:
I don’t think Daerius is as good as Suh but I agree he is a good player. But how do you pay him and Williams. That’s a boat load of money on the DL
Tyrod Taylor is their QB
Lets see by next year if that is the case
I think Dareus is a great player, and those guys get paid.
LEGACY
* * * *
WRX
* * * *
Not the car! the Patriots Legacy is four *
Is it my Patriot hate or do their cheerleaders look fat?
Lmao. Wife just said ” even their cheerleaders are flat”
LOL I was thinking the same thing and then I realized they weren’t the cheerleaders.
Yeah the ones wearing red arent cheerleaders.
What were they?
excuse me while I go vomit
Wife said he looks like a bobblehead
LMAO
The ones in red are the people holding the flags and shit on the field
Well they still looked fat.

They really shouldn’t be allowed to do that on the field. 😉
Better than NOT hoding their shit on the field🌰
I wonder if Bell and Blount are in a car in parking lot blowing a Blunt
Maybe they could wind up watching the game with Hernandez
Williams makes something out of nothing
Nice start
Williams looking good so far
‘thats nice of the pats to put the 50 in gold to celebrate the fins anniversary’ says every dolphin fan to a cheats fan
LOL
Shit play. You are moving the ball down the field no need for trick plays.
Woohoo injured patrirot
SHHHHHHHH (karma)
OH NO! An Injured Patriot! I hope he is ok…..
I don’t root for injuries…but in the case of the Patriots I make an exception.
I don’t often root for injuries but when I do it is against the Patriots, Bills or Jets and it is a season ending Injury.
Ken THE most interesting man in the world
LOL and I like Dos Equis.
Yeah thats what i meant😇

The Steelers cut Legarrette right before the playoffs last season, otherwise, that would have been a possibility. lol
Rethink this for a minute😎
Kinda killed their own momentum. Ouch missed
My fantasy kicker just missed. Double fuck me.
Neg pts?
well that was like premature ejaculation during a wet dream
Most of the lawns on my block are shit. We definitely need this and I’m tired of having to water our gardens and plants everyday. LOL
Weve had crazy amounts if rain this year weird not normal here
INJURY INJURY INJURY
^^rooting for injury
What did the Steelers forget to practice pass defense on the sidelines?
Brady missing a deep ball. Must have been hanging with Tannehill.
Awwww poor tommie missed a throw
wait, what. i thought only tanny missed on the deep passes.
OMG Brady can’t throw the deep pass
A hit on Brady. Yes!
