Naples … When you consider that this is a less than average team that displays no heart and is poorly coached, it’s really not that hard to believe.

There is no more point to playing Tannehill in this game. We are just going to get him killed.

    it is called good coaching.

Why? it is just putting him at risk for injury at this point.

exactly and if he gets hurt and out for a while it gives blowbin more excuse to be back next year

  7. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

if philbin is back tomorrow i hope the jets make it a 48-7 game

Piggy …Do you think he should be?

I wanted him gone in the offseason

      Well I wanted harbaugh

I don’t think it’s a great idea to fire a coach in September
You basically need to promote a coordinator and I don’t want lazor or Coyle as a coach either

The oc and do are part of the problem

If you fire Philbin now, where do you go

And before some one says anything is better try to remember if you said that for sparano or Cameron

and yeah a change just for a change. why not. this is a joke. you really want more of this. this team since week 1 has actually gotten worse and it is only week 3. so yeah a change let anyone coach the team

  21. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

  24. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

I’d fire Philbin as soon as I find someone willing to take the job. I’d fire Coyle tonight. I’d think of something to do about Lazor’s inability to figure out how to manage an offense, like demote him and get a real coordinator in there.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Appearently the lions dc is sitting out the year

I don’t know if we can sign him
But that would be worth firing Coyle now

But it’s not just the defense

      Our offense looks bad
      The whole team looks bad

      I’m at a loss

  25. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I know when you fire a HC in the middle of a season you normally promote a DC or OC. I say fire all 3 and promote a positional coach. Our top 3 coaches are all 1st time at their position and they have all proven they STINK.

How many times are you going to call a fade with a QB that has shown he CAN’T THROW THAT PASS? How many times are you going to call a defense that has the CB playing 7 yards back on a 3rd and 5 or less and give up a pitch and catch 1st?

Call the season a loss, bring in some retread HC to finish out the season and get these guys off the Dolphins sidelines.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I thik Lazor was thinking “Fuck it. We’re getting blown out. Let’s practice the fade route Ryan is so shitty at throwing. Maybe he’ll figure it out”

  26. TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

As long as I’ve been on the Philbin is not a head coach bandwagon, I will say you do not fire him until the season is lost. If you do it before then, you’re taking the risk of not being able to get the coach you want, because your message is we are impatient.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The worst thing to be when shopping for the best candidate is a bad organization

I just think we might have to take this on the chin
If they are going to switch gears they need a plan

    • herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

3 years isn’t impatient. And it’s not like the team has looked prepared to play in any of the games so far this year.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Patience may be a bad word
But no decent candidate wants to come into a toxic situation
Oakland and Cleveland are struggling to bring in good coaches based on the way they went through HCs

Firing coaches is part of the nfl culture
But I do believe that there a perception about the right way to do it

      • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

I thought about that Herd, bit in the context of one season, what exactly do you lose by waiting another 4 or 5 games to see what happens? Another coach you are interested in may think better of you for doing so.

How do you know you don’t get more next week if you fire Philbin now

yeah, duh. i mean keeping blowbin we will get more of the same next week. at least some one new there is a chance of changing things. i mean what more proof is needed to know blowbin is just going to bring an unprepared team to the field

  31. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I simply have no faith that Philbin can turn this around. Lazor’s system sucks, Coyle can’t get anything out of the talent we have here, and Philbin doesn’t have his team ready to play. All 3 of those things are difficult to overcome.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

the problem is Ross. We had this shitty season last year. We have another long year as fans because ross didn’t have the balls to get rid of the idiot philbin last year.

He said we need to get better and we didn’t last year. Fuck Ross.

  32. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

wow some of you guys. so, tanny sucks but dont blame the o line cause he has .3 seconds to throw the ball. but dont fire philblow cause it is his coordinators that suck not him. like he isnt the one in charge.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Tanny needs a perfect line to play well. He’s not tom brady who can make a couple of fuckin rookies look good.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Which is why Tanny’s problems should not be ignored

The rest of the team has to be great
        But not Tanny
I don’t know what kind of philosophy that is

  33. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

If the Dolphins are going to fire anyone it will likely come during the bye week.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Would make a lot more sense
And the bye week is really the Wildcard here

It gives the team a little cushion to get ready under a new hc

  34. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Mike,
I don’t think Lazor’s system sucks. I think it’s a combination of a subpar OL and poor execution. Has the playcalling been bad at times? Yes, but I think if we had a solid OL we’d be seeing different results on the offensive side of the ball.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t really like the system
It’s just way to finesse for me
But all those factors make it worse

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

I think Randy would say the Oline is not as bad as they’re made it to be, and that bad decisions by others males them look so. Add much add I hate to say it, put Tannehill on NE and Brady here, and the outcomes would likely be different from what they have been.

  35. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Boulder,

    Boulder

It’s obvious that Ross likes Joe Philbin as a person. It has obviously clouded his judgement of him as a Head Coach. I don’t think Joe will survive this season, and I do believe if we continue to play poorly against the Jets, someone is getting fired, whether it’s Coyle, Lazor, or Philbin, or all 3. The season will be nearly over, and due to the fact that Philbin has nothing on his resume that dictates he deserves to stay, it could be it for him.

ATROCIOUS….NEVER SEEN ANYTHING THIS HORRIBLE IN THE NFL!!!!

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m not sure those guys are any better
We just haven’t seen them yet

Besides they are adopting all the problems we already have

I think the real question is who is best to fix it
And really who is best to accept the consequences of it

If we hire an interim coach they are basically the walking dead

If you fix the play calling (which I hate too)
You still have a host of other problems

If you fix the game prep, you still have more problems

I really think part of the problems are the design of the team
And that’s not going to fixed with an interim coach
You need an offseason for that

  49. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

It doesn’t mean the next guy doesn’t fail
You don’t need to send that message
      No one wants to suck
Some people aren’t good enough not to

The plan needs to be to get the best people in place
So you do whatever you need to do to make that happen

    FACTS:
Philbin coming to Miami is a 1st time HC who wasn’t even a real OC…McCarthy called the games….Joe learned nothing! GB hasn’t missed him what so ever.

Coyle coming to Miami, also a 1st time DC, was a DB coach that Cincy didn’t care to keep. Bengals are better on defense now.

Lazor coming to Miami as a 1st time OC, was QB coach in Philly….the QB he coached got traded for a hobbled Bradford. Eagles pulled together today for an impressive road win.

FACT: We have 3 of our top coaches all at the same time, green 1st timers in Miami.
Folks, show me where that’s worked for any NFL franchise???

Head coaching candidates, lets a start a list.

    1. Jim Schwartz, former HC at Detroit. Has good history with Suh.

We barely beat a dysfunctional Redskins team and lost to the awful Jags. Our defense is probably the worst in the NFL. Backups are eating it alive. Our offense is even worse than under Sherman.

I’d like to fire the garbage today, but we have no shot of a top HC right now anyways so just laugh it off. I would fire Coyle tonight and get Schwartz. Tell him whatever he has to hear and get that defense fixed. Ross is paying way too much money and I want to see Suh terrorize someone besides Coyle.

The move to bring Albert here was the right one. He was a pro bowl caliber LT. He had a fluke injury last year that could have happened to anyone. He got his leg rolled up on. I am not going to kill the organization for that move when there are plenty of other moves to kill them for.

This says it all about our coaches. From NFL.com writer Chris Wesseling, “We’d like to know why Matthews has spent the past two seasons on the trade block and in Joe Philbin’s doghouse after flashing playmaking ability with 11 catches for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Buccaneers in Week 10 of the 2013 season.”

This coaching staff is awful and I don’t think Tannehill will recover honestly. Too many OCs, too much to learn, no deep ball or desire to throw one, another system to learn. We will have a top 5 pick. We might need to get QB.

Looking at the college ranks I am a big fan of Gus Malzhan.

OK, have your lynching. But there are more potential negatives for a coaching change now than after mathematical elimination, IMhumblestO.

what is that. that the jets may beat time 54-7. i mean didnt you see this team, the game, the first 3 games. this team cant be much worse. so what if they hire some nobody and he goes 0-13 they get the top pick. i dont want blowbin hanging around and going on some meaningless 3 game winning streak or something like that and ross keeping him around.

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

And letting him go definitely changes what?

      • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

And what does the next coach we go aftet think about it? Whether you wanted him or not, don’t you think fisher turned us down because of, in part, our poor handling of Sparano/Harbaugh and a reputation of not being a well run organization? Who else do we not know of that turned us down?

really????? it changes he isnt here. it changes there is some hope. you really think keeping him round there is hope.

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

OK- hope springs eternal. You’ve convinced me. Let him go right now, and we’ll be improved immediately. Addition by subtraction. In the history of the nfl, changes like this always improve a team. It’s why the Raiders are always so good. “OFF WITH HIS HEAD!”

If you read up, you’ll know what my thoughts are. But some want blood now, though I think there is fresh pain involved with this.

you do know that is a bit arrogant. that some of us are just emotional and not thinking with a clear head but you are the one who is calm cool and collective and thinking every thing thru. the rest of us are a bunch of 13 year old emotional kids.

i for one have been calling for joe to go……hey that is it, the fins can suck with the mantra joe to go…….any ways been calling for him to go midway thru a season and a half ago. but if that is me being emotional then i am

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

You act like we speak in a vacuum- i, along with others, wanted Joe to blow with Ireland, and each successive year since. But there exists virtually no benefit to letting someone go before elimination. Sorry I’m being so arrogant.

  88. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    try,

i am not saying to go after a coach. just saying to get rid of joe, promote from with if if you need too. but just thinking keeping buffonbin and thinking something good is going to happen is just the definition of insanity

  89. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

does it make a difference to let him go now or later? Maybe we attract a better coach if we allow philbin to be mathematically eliminated before we fire him. Or let him finish the season. All it means is we get a better draft spot next year.

I just can stand the sight of him on the sideline anymore.

  90. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    ken,
yes his injury was an accident. But the injury that kept him out of this game wasn’t. he was injured often in KC as well. He’s played half a season for us and without him this team is below average.

nope, and dont put words where i never did. i never ever said they would be improved. but i do know doing the same thing over and over and over and failing doesnt mean if you do it again things will change. so why not change something and see what happens

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

Perhaps I did put words in your mouth- but that is the implication; that somehow there is a benefit to letting him go now as opposed to week.. 10, or whenever it is no longer possible to make the playoffs.

  92. New Age's avatar New Age says:

I want Philbin and staff here all season now that I think about it. Of course I also want the next coach to have a top 5 pick in every round too so I might be biased.

nope. just pointing out what i am saying isnt some irrational emotional reaction like you are saying some on here are having. i have wanted this for a while so to think i am just upset about the loss isnt fair. hell i am not even upset about it. last week yeah, but i am not tonight in the least. i had absolutely no hope going into the game. i am not upset in the least

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

You are not the only one that wants the execution- you may be calm and rational, but you know as well as I that not all can say that.

You have to go after a coach eventually- what does firing Joe after three games day to potential candidates?

aahhh, maybe if you drive this team into the ground. and you are a bumbling fool you get fired.

what does keeping him say to a potential candidate. come here. dont worry about things. be average at best or a failure and you will keep your job or 4 years no matter what

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

That’s one interpretation- I’m hard pressed to think that everyone, particularly potential coaches, only get that out of it.

  95. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    try,

but that is what i am saying why wait till eliminated from the playoffs. i get just giving an interim coach the job makes the odds of anything good happening slim to none. but with keeping the buffoon there imo the odds go from slim to none to none

  96. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    try,

and i have a hard time any coach cares. these are nothing but a bunch of egotist. they arent really going to make a decision based on how the prior coach was handled. they all think they know what to do, and think the are going to be successful. no coach looks at what the team does before and thinks, if i fail they will do that to me. they all think they will be successful

  97. TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

    Ffr,
I didn’t say this to be contrary, or to engage in a long debate about it. As I said, I don’t think I am more right than someone else with a differing opinion. I was only saying that people, particularly here, get way upset and react strongly, particularly to losses. I hope Ross is more analytical and less reactionary than we are after such a poor showing.

  98. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

so the Detroit d line lost the best defensive player ever in the history of the game but yet they still look better then the fins d line

    • TryPod's avatar Try Pod says:

Yeah- was not for that signing from the beginning, though after 3 games I’m not going to say it was a total bust, either.
