Mustachio Cuts Player (and Coach) Profiles: Coach Dan Campbell

MustachioCutsLogo

Ah…welcome to Mustachios Cuts.  Long time you no see me…no?

Il pezzo di merda Dolphins are 1-3 (Mustachio spits on the floor).  Affanculo Dolphins – How could you be so cruel to Mustachio?  You fuck Dolphins fans so much in the first quattro games, you make my whore wife looks like a vergine.

Dolphins New Coach FootballAnd now zoppicare Coach Philbin is no more!  Mustachio was ready to bring in a new coach.

Il Dolphins promote Dan Campbell from tight ends coach to il grande capo now!  Chi e Dan Campbell?  Primo, Dan Campbell is too grande for Philbin’s old podiums…

Secondo, Coach Campbell is a man with fuoco nel suo ventre!

All week Dan Campbell has promesso a more fisico Dolphins team!

CampbellCowboys

Coach Campbell has giovanile energy! He is only trentanove and was last a player in the NFL in 2009!

Campbell was drafted by the Giants in 1999 and started for them in 2000 when they went to the Super Bowl!

By 2003 Campbell was in Dallas, and was coached by the Grande Tonno.  He barely caught over 200 receiving yards for Dallas – Per lo piu, he was a blocking tight end.

dan_campbellLions

He then went to the Lions in 2006 where he had his migliore year as a pro before retiring a few years later and starting his coaching career in Miami, which is the only team he has ever coached for.

Mustachio thinks Campbell sembra some one who can still play.

But he is not playing now – he is coaching.

And coaching very a very fisico style.  In his primo practice Campbell insisted on running il Tapano di Oklahoma!

Benvenuto to Miami Coach Campbell.  Mustachio bestows these gifts on you.  Primo a magico mustache.  This mustache will assistere you in battling each week!

Secondo, Mustchio brings you this helmet to deflect the temperamental fans and media in Miami.  This helmet will help you deflect ridiculous criticism which you can expect to come your way!

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The Mets need deGrom to out duel Greinke.

That said, my goal for the Mets was at least make the playoffs this year so win or lose I’m cool with it. They took a big step towards becoming a good team for years to come. Lots of decisions in 2016 either way, Cespedes and Murphy, they have to sign some of the young pitchers now.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

They’re saying they can’t afford Cespedes.

  55. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

i already apologized. will you stop blaming me.

  58. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Steve, i don’t think we’ll sign Cespedes. I was saying that the team has a lot of decisions to make to make for 2016. It’s not that we can’t afford him, I just don’t think ownership will do it.

Cespedes could make a lot of money from endorsements in NY as well so maybe that’s a possibility. But I don’t think it will happen.

  59. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If he isn’t worth it the Dodgers will sign him, and he’ll hit .250 with 9 homers for the yr, get hurt and miss 40 games. They seem to sign all those guys that kick their butt in the playoffs.

Trying to get excited about watching this team this weekend but I just can’t find it in me. I am so demoralized by how bad we started that even with the coaching change I am having a hard time getting psyched up for the game. I have no expectation that anything significant is going to be different.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m actually looking forward to it because of the changes. If no changes had been made I wouldn’t be because of how they looked in all 4 games.

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I should be too but I just don’t think whatever the changes were are going to save the season. I just kind of feel that it is a lost season already. I don’ mean to piss on anyone’s cornflakes but the reality is we are likely in for a long season of pain. We are have a rookie HC with no HC experience or experience as a coordinator. He is trying to jump start a lifeless team and he is doing it with somebody else’s staff. He has not had the benefit of offseason OTA and TC to get his system and way of doing things in place. I just forsee lots of pain for us this year. I know Philbin could not continue but the reality is things are likely to get worse before they get better. I just want to see our team relevant for the rest of the year and I am having a hard time seeing that.

wow it was the 12 yr anniversary at midnight of the Cubs 2003 Steve Bartman incident.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/the-cubs-are-the-team-that-can-make-october-belong-to-baseball-again-032206186.html

And nobody cared that once the clock struck midnight and the calendar turned that it happened to be the 12-year anniversary of the night Steve Bartman inserted himself into Cubs lore alongside a billy goat. As they doused one another with beers and drenched each other with Champagne and basked in the glory of ousting baseball’s best regular-season team, the Cubs did everything short of swearing this time was different, that 2015 will be theirs like 1908 was.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think Bartman has a twitter account now and a lot of poeple have publicly forgiven him

Personally I thought the ball was out of play and Alou brought a lot of unwarranted attention to it

      • jetsssuck's avatar jetsssuck says:

we were down 3-0 with 1 out in the 8th and then Bartman made a mistake that has haunted him for 12 years. We scored 8 runs after that in the inning. I’ve heard he needed to be hidden from fans leaving with police escorts after that game. The police even guarded his house.

  67. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Ken, I hear ya. I guess I want to see if this team can wake up. I’m not too concerned about the staff because Campbell knows all of them and has coached with all of them for 4 years. He also brought in Saunders and made some changes with people he’s comfortable with. I understand your concerns though, I just want to see if they can turn it around.

  68. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

  69. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think the Mets should do everything they can to sign Cespedes. Give him a 6YR $140M offer, which is very fair, but not likely to be his best offer, and see what happens. I’m not sure if we can afford that, or more, but if we can, that’s a reasonable offer. We don’t have a guy like him, and I’m not sure we’ll find one. Lagares is big ? with his elbow, he needs Tommy John surgery, and I think Granderson, Cespedes and Conforto looks like a great outfield.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

They can afford it, the issue is they probably won’t pony up. I also think Cespedes is going to be looking for much more than that. Think Robinson Cano money.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

If it gets beyond $150M, I think we let him go. Shame, because we really need his bat and defense. He really is a perfect fit here.

Over the years I’ve heard Wilbon (from ESPN) a Chicago guy and Cubs guy bash the Miami Heat and their fans – and I’ve always said to myself – who is this dbag Cubs fans TV personality telling fans how to act – Bartman was the worst incident by fans in ALL sports – he is way out of line

Exactly Right. Lead these Sheep into pro football players Dan!
    —————————————————
Lion should never be asked to lead sheep, cause they would eat them. Maybe omar should have said let a Lion show a bunch of pussies how to be big cats….

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      He should have said pig

everyone knows they are the leaders of the animal world
and we won;t eat the sheep either

how about our 1st WS title where Cleveland Indians 2nd baseman lets a ball get by him threw his legs in the 8th inning and we eventually won that game to give us the WS. The game is a matter of luck sometimes.

  75. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike E, everyone thinks Cespedes is a great fit here.

  76. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim, Ken

Mike Trout signed a 6YR $144M contract with the Angels. I think Cespedes should be in that neighborhood. The Cano contract was aberration. Even the Yankees thought it was crazy, and that says a lot! lol

  77. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Kershaw came up with a gem & redeemed himself in postseason play last nite…wow.

  78. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Ken, I agree with the highest bidder, I thought you meant his agent said something exclusively against the Mets. I don’t think the Mets will sign Cespedes. I’d like them to, I don’t think they will.

  79. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Cespedes is a really good ball player but he is not worth Cano money. Heck Cano is not worth Cano money. Cespedes has not been a high average guy and while his power numbers in the past have been good they have not been elite numbers. I don’t think he is worth the same contract as Mike Trout. I would take Trout over him any day and pay Trout more money than him in a heartbeat. But this is the way MLB when you are the prize FA people will overspend and Cespedes is likely to get his payday.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

But his agent is going to shoot for the moon. I really don’t care what he gets, it’s not likely to be with the Mets anyway.

  80. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

No response to the Trout contract? Trout is also 5 years younger than Cespedes, and has a lot more HR’s in less time.

“You fuck Dolphins fans so much in the first quattro games, you make my whore wife looks like a vergine.”

    LOL — Mustachio truth.

Biggest thing I’m looking for on Sunday is the vibe. Gonna be watching the sideline more than any game in a good long while.

  82. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

And a big sorry to Cav. I know the hurt.

  83. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

I think you’re just giving in to the notion that the Mets won’t spend. They’ve seen what a playoff team can bring to the park, and I think they want that. I’d expect they go after Cespedes harder than you think.

  84. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Pro Football Focus has had a lot of good things to say about the Raiders’ offensive line. While the run blocking hasn’t been consistently great, the pass blocking has been among the best in the league. In fact, PFF rates them the very best in the NFL.

They listed the top five offensive lines by percentage of pressured dropbacks and the Raiders were right at the top

    1. Raiders (17%)
    2. Cowboys (18%)
    3. Falcons (18%)
    4. Saints (20%)
    5. Browns (21%)

This is even considering the Derek Carr was pressured on 43 of 127 dropbacks (33%) and sacked four times on Sunday. Which I guess says more about how well they were protecting Carr over the first four weeks.

  85. D's avatar D says:

Bog thing with contracts is what year they are in, and where you ranck compared to other FA’s. A rookie vs a first contract, vs a second contract all makes a big difference. Some of them have a lot of risk reward questions asnwered, and a lot of time the player in a 2nd contract will be wanting max pay and max years as a combination where as a 1st contract might be looking more for money over year, etc. Latter career contract might be able looking for a championship team or playing near your home town. These all kind of factor in on where the guy lands and for how much.

Cespedes is kinda of in that spot where he needs to hit big with his contract and the timing is pretty good. I see him going for max money and max years, moreso than looking for a fit or home, or championship chance. Im sure those will factor in if the numbers are close, but im thinking bidder wins out with him/his agent this year.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

This is his last chance at the big payday, he’s going to go for as much as he can get. The Mets also have to sign deGrom and Harvey to solid contracts because they almost can’t balk at a good deal at this time because it will still be life changing money and we own their rights for like 4-5 more years.

  86. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

THERE IS NO REASON PHINS SHOULD LOSE SUNDAY!!!

Ken Whisenhunt is 4-28 in his last 32 games as a head coach. 4-28! He is also 1-7 coming off of the bye. That, according to gramsey, is the worst record in NFL history. His overall coaching record is 48-68. He has been an NFL head coach for 7 years and has never had a record better than 10-6.

Bill Parcells once famously said, “You are what your record says you are.” (or something like that). Ken Whisenhunt is not a good NFL head coach. There is no way to argue that he is, and there is no reason to give him more time.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Ken Wisenhut almost won a SB. He is a more polished HC with lots more experience than our HC. His team has been playing pretty good ball with a rookie QB that was supposedly not ready for the NFL. I think we are in for a dog fight this weekend.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I agree, I don’t think it’s going to be an easy game. But we have to win this game if we’re going to save the season because the Titans aren’t a top team. If we can’t beat them than who?

  87. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

LOL D – I almost typed in Gabe Jackson myself. Nah, we don’t need him . . .

It’s the NFL on any given Sunday….If we lose to the Titans I would not be shocked nor overly disappointed. They have been playing good ball even in defeat and we have not.

  90. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

2014 Draft we took OT Billy Turner @ 67 overall in the 3rd round…..Raiders @ 81 took OG Gabe Jackson.
Not only are we not doing well with 3rd rounder OL, but we’re not even getting Turner ready to take over as Albert’s replacement @ LT, instead he’s failing us @ RG depth.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Gabe Jackson didn’t fit the athletic type of OL we were looking for. Square peg in a round hole no matter how you want to second guess it. Lots of other teams passed on him too. It’s funny there is a theme here that only we pass on good players. LOL

Going to play some hoops then I am going to court. I am out. Peace to you all.

  92. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Jets waived TE Wes Saxon to make room for Sheldon Richardson coming off of suspension.
Saxton might be worth adding to our practice squad and see if Campbell/O’Keefe/Saunders sees anything in him.
