Happy Fest Day! It’s another Home opener of sorts, the first with Dan Campbell as head coach. So many opportunities today. We have the opportunity to finally beat the Texans. We have the opportunity to get to 3-3 before a stretch of road games. We have the opportunity to put together back to back wins for the first time in what seems like an eternity. I’m not looking it up, but it seems like a long time. And not to be ignored, it’s the opportunity to get a victory for those attending the Fest.

I think Gigi, among others, will be glad to see the Al Golden era end at Miami. The problem now is, Miami will not pay for a good coach, so there is little to make one believe the Hurricanes will be any better any time soon. It seems the alumni, the “boosters” if you will, don’t understand how it works. They have to also pay to get top coaching talent at their school.

Good luck festers. I sit bumming that I am not as I wait at the airport having to travel for business and missing the game
So far a good weekend. As most of you know, I didn’t go to the fest because I was participating in the Alzheimer’s Walk with my family. A bittersweet day for sure, but our ‘Team’, which is my sister, my niece and myself along with a couple of cousins and anyone else we can draft about 15 of us raised over $5000 for the cause, good for 3rd place in the small teams category.
When you do this walk, they give you flowers, they are different colors, yellow signifies someone you care about has Alz. Purple indicates you have lost someone to the disease. We’ve always gotten yellow flowers but this year was the first time we were given purple ones. Seems like such a little thing but it was the hardest part of the day.
Sorry for your loss Herd and congrats for raising so much for a worthy cause. I did an Alzheimer’s Walk a couple years ago. Should really get into another one.
Wow.. That’s an amazing thing you are doing. So wish you didn’t get the purple flowers this year. What a great cause that will someday pay off and a cure will be discovered. Keep up the fight !!!
On another note, this Jags team is so awful. Gifted(somewhat) 20 points and they are going to try and squeeze it out over 30 minutes.

How many friggin times can you call a run up the middle on short yardage and get stuffed before you call another play. …3 times at the one in the 3rd quarter and 2 more times in the 4th quarter where they also needed one yard. All five times stopped for no gain. Just stupid.
