Hey Everyone! Great game vs the Bills right?
Am I right?!?!
Does your butt hurt yet?
If so than I’m right at home with you!
Here is a live photo of the game
The Bills gained 420 yards against the Dolphins
The Dolphins countered with 397 yards
Close game right?
Nope – Bills 33 Dolphins 17
of that 420 yards the Bills rans for 266 on the ground.
When McCoy was injured Karlos Williams took his place and ran for 2 TDs.
Both Williams and McCoy ran for 100 yards
Another Bill who had a big game was Sammy Watkins who had 8 catches for 168 yards
It turns out the Brent Grimes has his cleats specially fitted with banana peels for the game!
Watkins ate the Dolphins alive
Here is another photo of the end result
Ryan Tanenhill threw for over 300 yards.
Lamar Miller had 97 of those yards. He ran for 2 yards –
but he wasn’t very effective on the ground.
Landry caught 11 passes and actually threw one too.
They keep using Landry in various ways.
And Kenny Stills was involved too
But still poop on Sunday.
I hate the Bills

Agree with all that C-P.
Time for a Dolphin colonic irrigation?
Wash, rinse, repeat ………… seems like forever now 😦
When will the torment and suffering end.
RIP 2015 season

I honestly don’t want to see Greg Jennings on the field anymore. I can’t remember the last time he actually caught a pass. Just put Parker on the field, if his foot falls off, fuck it, shit happens.
I nearly cracked a rib laughing at this when reading through yesterdays’ comments. Fing hilarious!

What’s a matter with pen Station?
I just read a breaking news banner on a web page that said there had been a shooting

Hi,
Looks like it will be another depressing week LOL
The non-sack where Suh clearly had Taylor “in his grasp” and Taylor was aloud to underhand throw the ball out of bounds followed by the 40+ yard touchdown to Watkins where Suh was obviously held was the turning point of yesterdays game. The Refs clearly fucked the dolphins yesterday. Oh, well the season is over now. No playoffs. New front office personnel next year. Rebuilding once again. I hate this fucking team.

To me this is the funniest line since “I think we’re going to need a bigger shark”
I wish to see the team return towards fundamental football.
With Ajayi now in the mix, the Fins coaching staff needs to work inside out since it’s obvious the personnel mix (OL/TE) cannot handle the pass heavy approach
I was watching the game at a sports bar yesterday and I was talking to a guy about Tannehill, and the end of the first half. To me, he needs to take that time out as soon as the ball was marked in bounds by the official. Good Quarterbacks need to be in tune with the situation and take charge. There is too much pussifying of the position these days when the QB has to rely on the HC to provide direction to do ANYTHING on the field.
Not sure what Ross is going to do but I would not be surprised if he starts over from top to bottom. Something isn’t right with this team and it’s not just coaching. I have doubts about these players to step up in important games. No matter who is on the team it’s the same stuff. I’m tired of watching the same thing. It’s almost like watching replays from previous years. It sucks!
I hope you’re right.
The team obviously has holes.
At this point, I’d be moving Pouncey as well.
^this
bookman,
Agree.
It’s like that line in the movie Road Trip…
“You know what your problem is? You’re all brains …not enough cock and balls”
I tried to post the exact time in the clip when he says it (1:15 mark).
Exactly
This team won’t get to 11 wins like I hoped prior to the start of the season but perhaps they can win 8 games yet again 😛
Not sure about that. I see more like 6-10 maybe 7-9.
I agree. 6-10 is the high end. I think we’re closer to 4-12 or 5-11
Bookman
I agree about that timeout situation
It drives me crazy about Tanny that he doesn’t realize that
Everytime I see him not understand the game I go back to hard knocks where he didn’t know the divisions
He is more behind the 8 ball than I thought and it shows in critical situations
I do note that anyone – including a coach Campbell probably could have called that timeout
But it wasn’t just not calling a timeout – it was the lack of urgency when the offense lined up. I don’t know how much time came off the clock but there were 2-3 plays there
That drive should have been a TD
I said it yesterday – sometimes I feel like Tanny learned about playing qb from reading it in a book the week before he was drafted
It kils me
I think in time he is going to be a very god qb – but he ends more time than I thought
it doesn’t matter. We’re stuck with SUh and tanny for the next couple of years. But I would draft a QB next year in later rounds.
I agreei think being stuck with both is not a huge detriment
The key is to use the draft well
I agree 100% with this post. He is obviously physically talented, but he has not excelled in the mental part of the game. I don’t know if that is him, or being in a system and with a coaching staff that is too hands on. It is almost as if he cannot make a decision for himself on the field as it pertains to game management.
I really think it’s just lack if experience
But it’s our time he is wasting in getting the experience
If we cut him at the end of the year he would probably be in the pro bowl within 3 years…lol
What a crappy game from a crappy team. Grimes should just quit now after that showing.
So this year is over and campbell will be gone in January. If I were Ross I’d blow the whole thing up. Get rid of hickey and tannenbaum and get a real coach in here.
BTW suh was the biggest waste of money. Some of us knew this is the shit we’re gonna get but some thought everything would be different now that Suh is here. LOL yea everything is different. We’re much worst than last year.
lmfao.
Actually on D what is really driving me nuts are the LB.
Instinctual is definitely not in their characteristics.
If you look at the film vs the Patriots, they were beaten repeatedly by 5 yard dump offs.
The LBs are horrible
The DBs other than Jines are not much better
I think we can add solid LBs and a solid safety via the draft
But I would also like a solid pass rusher and that’s hard to acquire
I think Suh is the only good part of this team right now
Not a Waste of money IMO
Well not at least the player
But it doesn’t make sense to spend that $ if you are not a contender so to that extent I agree
We still need to fix a lot
I think the keys is better coaching, better production from the draft
Both Green Bay and the bengals have rosters compromised of guys they drafted
I would just build around Suh
Draft another qb eventually and let him compete against Tanny
But the coaching has to be there
I don’t want to do a garage sale for draft picks
You can add what you need to build a team of you draft well
Good teams do it
Also the coaching has to be there
I just think he’s not worth 60million guaranteed money. He’s not worth half that.
And I do think there needs to be bigger changes made than just coaching.
That’s all well and good Piggy, but the coaching has to be there…..Oh wait……
Piggy,
You were on board with Suh from the beginning, so at this point I don’t think aqnyone expects you to do an about face- but he does limit what the team can do going forward. I saw where you said you build a defense around him, but that is not a recipe currently in vogue in the NFL (you don’t make a defensive player the highest paid player on your team). Doesn’t mean it’s not possible, just not the most likely path to success.
The clock stuff didn’t even bother me because I knew we weren’t winning that game even if we scored a TD there. You can just sense it. It’s like ground hog’s day.
It is still a part of the bigger problem.
2 plays that changed the game. The throw right before half. IF we can’t punch it in from 1 yard line then we get what we deserve. The other was the in the grasp call that should have been a sack or intentional grounding.
I think the fumble sack was also huge
I don’t blame Tanny for taking the sack
But the ball security there…wow…and he has done that many times before
He just doesn’t understand the game sometimes IMO
Tim,
LOL @ “you can just sense it”.
That moment came to me when I saw the safety LOL
yup. exactly. We stop them on defense and a safety? That was on tanny. He’s just not that good.
That was a bad snap, you could see it the way Pouncey was acting on the bench head in hands. You can’t snap it high like that down there. I disagreed with the commentators saying RT has to catch that ball. It was too fast and high. It was a wild pitch, not a passed ball.
LOL, after that I said here we go! That was a sign for sure.
For me is was when a Bills fan came and sat next to me for the game. His name was “Bill”…seriously? Should have been an omen
Btw,
I’m not a ‘grass is greener on the other side’ kinda person but I couldn’t help but think about the time Jeff Ireland / Bill Parcells traded away multiple draft picks to acquire Brandon Marshall instead of just outright drafting Dez Bryant 😦
i thought about it watching the Dallas game
The rest of AFC east seems like are in a different league than us. I doubt we could beat any of the teams at home or on the road. Nice job Ross, Tannenbaum and hickey. Hell of a team you put together. Fuckin losers.
Let’s not get nuts, the AFC is pretty bad overall.
well we’re one of the worst in afc so we must really suck.
First let me offer an apology to FFR. Wasnt my intention to be so snarky toward you, but i do feel that a lot of people here give Tanny a pass on just about everything. I still hold to my assertion that he committed egregious cock ups in that game, but shouldn’t have taken your post as directed at me and then gone on the offensive to make my point, and i probably should have stayed away from the phrase i used. I apologize for that.
I have never though Fox was any good. If you go back to earlier this year and including some of the PS games, you will see i have always said Fox has no ability to defend speed rushers. He isnt bad one on one with a power rusher, but if they have quick twitch and they hit him with a speed move, he looks almost helpless to defend it.
The rest of the OL wasnt that bad, the snap was on Tanny, he wasnt paying attention and the snap had been signaled for and OG had called for it. He did this the previous game as well. Both times it looked as if the cadence had been called, his hands were at the ready, he took his eyes off the ball right at the time of the snap. Pouncey looked good on several plays, Thomas looked good, Turner had a few issues on his side but overall the only real failure on the OL was Fox.
Grimes shit the bed, and i think this is a sign that he is losing a step on some of these younger guys. Taylor was crappy, hell entire secondary looked back with exception of Mr dependable, Jones.
DL actually looked pretty decent. We definitely missed the pressure from the outside, but it wasnt a bad performance by Shelby. Suh got robbed of a sack but was disruptive in the middle most plays. LB’ers didnt help much this game outside of a few good plays by Jenkins.
I expected a closer game, i thought we had what we needed to win this one. Would have been very nice to walked away with a win here, and not just to continue to hold out hope for a decent season, just because it sucks being 0-4 to the Bills over past two years and its the kind of game that could have really gave us a lift for second half of the season.
How is the snap on RT when he’s the one who calls for it so he knows when it’s coming? He was still barking stuff out when it happened. Both snaps the past two weeks were bad snaps. I’m not defending RT because we give him a pass on everything, but you could tell even Pouncey knew it was on him by his actions on the sideline.
the one against the pats was on pouncey but the one yesterday I thought was on tanny.
Why can’t we put tanny under center in the situation. I hate Lazor.
Silver lining
The game wraps up are easy to write when I’m just posting pics of poop
LOL!!!
I hope they consider these guys for coaches next year.
Hue Jackson and Doug Marrone
Wolverine?
Mike Smith is the HC available with the most success.
May be better options by years end. Those arent bad ones but there may be better.
Hey Piggy here is you a defensively heavy draft. I squeezed in some OL and a QB pick as well.
Your score is: 6140 (GRADE: B+)
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida (A+)
Round 2 Pick 13: John Theus, OT, Georgia (B+)
Round 3 Pick 13: Rees Odhiambo, OG, Boise State (B)
Round 4 Pick 13: Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 13: Charles Tapper, DE, Oklahoma (A)
Round 6 Pick 13: Bronson Kaufusi, DE/OLB, Brigham Young (B+)
Round 7 Pick 13: Kris Frost, OLB, Auburn (B-)
Hargreaves would be awesome
But 2nd and 3rd round picks should be LBs or Safeties
I’m not sure at the end of the day the personell on the OL is so bad
Boulder, even yesterday Lazor tried to be cute when other more basic stuff was working. He did a good job with formations and getting the ball out quickly and then would call some wacky shit. Not sure why he feels the need to do that.
He’s a bad OC is why. He has 0 ability to adjust to what the defense is giving him too.
he’s gonna get his ass handed to him this weekend by his mentor.

——————————————-
Tim, the snap works by Tanny barking out a cadence, OG then reaches over and taps Pouncey on the leg and then based upon some previous determined number of seconds after the tap OC snaps it. Tanny was in the ready position and then looks to his right and the snap comes. It looked like Tanny took his eyes off at a bad time to me.
I can’t say it was that because I don’t know but it was also a bad snap, way too high to the right and up at the top of his head. It’s suppose to be around his chest. It’s just another thing that compounds the frustrations with this team.
It was about chest level Tim, wasnt at top of his head he didnt have to jump to get to it. He just wasnt prepared for it.
It’s just a football game people. SMH
Imagine explaining that to your family and friends
Some of the tricky stuff I like
It’s not that it’s too cute
But there is minimal gain from it even if it works
You run screens and reverses to manipulate an agressive defense
We run then as the foundation of our offense
So when teams know it’s coming – then what?
What do we go to then?
Oh more screens and reverses – that will work…(sigh)
I’m talking about other odd plays that look like a disaster as they’re happening and they yield very little gain. It just doesn’t seem worth it.

LMFAO!
Just went back and reviewed that snap play, Bills one def on Tanny, he was at the ready, didnt look to the right like i thought he just wasnt watching for the snap. Snap hit him in the hands and he couldnt handle it.
In the hands over his head where it’s not suppose to be. It was not a good snap no matter who you want to give more blame to.
To me unless you have a laser guiding QB such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Peyton Manning even, there’s no point going shotgun from the 1 or 2 yard line.
Under center, I formation, double TE formation is the most difficult formation to defend because of the obvious -> RB and FB can run in either direction, the TE can slip the blocks.
It also forces the defense to concentrate the defenders inside, isolating the corners and WR in one on one.
under center because the QB can sneak it as well.
That’s what I was hoping for. We never do it so they wouldn’t have expected it.
I can’t wait to see the game this weekend. Lazor trying to out think Chip Kelly. Should be real entertaining
I can see the headline now
Coach runs entire offense from the handstand position
Coach states “I thought it would work because no one else thought it would work”
LOL
it’ll be a massacre. I bet we lose by 3 TDs.
Cant really tell on the Pats game though. All OL moved simultaneously with the snap, not a snap then everyone moved so it seems only one not on the same page was Tanny.
Tim the snap was at chest level, higher on the chest than normal, still where he should have fielded it. It was a little high but not overly so.
I only saw it live
But it didn’t seem like a really high snap as I recall it
Okay, it was not a good snap no matter how you slice it. You could tell Pouncey knew it too. That’s what I’m going by. Not worth continuing to discuss it’s not why we lost.
I just re-watched it, it was at his head not his chest the way I saw it live.
Well, here we are again friends. Sad stuff.
Silver lining – We can now seek other things to occupy to our Sundays, because the Dolphins have let us off the hook mercifully early this season. We don’t have to wait for the late season collapse, it’s over already.
Only one thing to say about the Bills game in general
The Eagles game should be quite interesting….their offense is the ultimate dr jekyll / mr hyde. Bradford sometimes is way off on his throws (guesses incorrectly, etc). They do have big play makers in their WR but Matthews sometimes shows those droppsies on his deeper routes. If I’m the coaching staff, i’m lining up the DE wide and forcing hte action inside.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000574933/Dolphins-Ryan-Tannehill-fumbles-snap-Bills-get-the-safety
Too high, and it was a rocket too. Too fast around the end zone
Exactly and Pouncey knew it. Just another thing to compound the frustrations with this team.
Another bright spot is Ajayi looked real good Sunday, of course in limited action. Looks really explosive. Something to look forward to
He looks more instinctive than Williams and more explosive than Gray. He’d a nice compliment with Miller. Though Miller probably won’t be here next year. Not sure who will be here next year. Something has to change with this team, something ain’t right.

—————————————-
There are a couple of Alabama LB’s i think would be good. If our draft level is higher we probably could get Foster with pick 2. He wasnt there and best ILB available was the guys from Missouri who is an OK pick but i wouldnt draft him in the 2nd. Did have a really great safety to choose from, Jalen Mills from LSU but he has been hurt first part of this year so stayed away from him for fear of the “drafting injured players” thing.
Antonio Morrison from UF would be a great pickup, he plays better than his size (6’1) or draft status suggest. He will be a fallback pick for me at the position.
Just like when you guys say over and over that our WRs should catch passes from Tanny that are behind them…over their heads…at their feet. you always say that’s a catch that they should have made if they could touch it with their fingertips. Well, tanny was responsible for NOT securing that snap. He should have handled it. Yes, it was a bad snap, but it still should have been caught because he had his hands on it. You anticipate a bad snap…not a perfect one. Pouncey has had his issues with snaps over the years though, and any good center is going to take the blame for that play to protect his QB. Tanny’s ball security has also been an issue for 4 years. He doesn’t get the “inexperienced” excuse anymore. We’re way past that. This team isn’t gonna win much of anything if we can’t score more than 20 points a game.
***
The OL held up pretty well given the situation yesterday. They had their hiccups, but they played well enough to win. Too many times, Lazor puts our OL in horrible situations and Tanny’s terrible pocket presence makes it worse. It’s no fluke that they looked much better when we committed to the run. Where the hell did that go? Why is Campbell not stepping in and telling Lazor to call more runs? Even when we were down one score, we started throwing out our asses. We needed to slow the game down, establish the LOS and control the clock. Nope! Just throw every flipping down….that always works so well.
Campbell doesnt have his Boss Balls yet. Dont know that he knows what to do with that situation. He should have fired Lazor with Coyle and then he could have promoted someone to OC or just told Saunders its his job. Im assuming Saunders really doesnt want the role.
OMG man, you are so anti Tanny it’s the same thing every week. The entire football team isn’t any good. The snap was bad and way too high. I just posted it. There is no debating it.
Snap wasnt so bad he shouldnt have come up with it Tim. Ball went straight to his right shoulder. He was caught off guard with it getting to him so fast that he swiped up at it and batted it over his head. You want me to link the video so you can see it, and hear the announcers say that he should have had it?
Im not anti Tanny but he is not playing well. He seems distracted. He seems just off. Nothing about who he was last year is showing up in more than just spurts this year.
Hargreaves + Mills with Jones is a pretty shut down secondary.
Randy my big thing with the strip sack was that he glanced over and saw Hughes bearing down on him and he still held the ball out like he was practically handing it to them. There are so many times he crumples up and takes the sack when he could have stepped out of the way or up in the pocket to avoid it, and then others when he wags that ball around like its a piece of chicken he’s tempting a tiger with.
tanny needs to be in a run first, ground and pound offense.
The players that showed the most yesterday.
Lamar Miller
Ndamukong Suh
Ja’Wuan James
LOL. james showed a lot. as much as miller and suh.
I see what you did there lol…..
Stills looked pretty good, Cameron looked solid on the few plays i saw him involved with. Jones for sure was playing well.
Suh and Miller were very good
I guess you mean the value of James given Fox’s performance
Tim,
Ball hit him in the hands, and it was not over his head. It went over his head after it hit his hands. Suck on tanny’s balls all you like. I have been consistent in my evaluation of him from day one. I can’t help it if it hurts your feelings that I was right. Deal with it.
we just gave him 100m so he’s not going anywhere. Have to build around him and suh.
ok so the list we have right now, in no particular order, is
Hue Jackson, Doug Marrone, Mike smith.
That snap was higher than his shoulder, just about helmet high, and fast. Can’t agree that Tannehill should have caught it.
Mike he bats it helmet high, when it gets to his body and hits his hands its right there on his right shoulder.
I think it was too high too
but he should have caught it
it was not like it was over his head
But it was Pouncey’s fault first and foremost
WTF Pouncey
that is just unprofessional

—————————————–
I think he also needs to use his legs more as in they need to roll him out more. He isnt blazing fast but he is sneaky and had a good field of vision when he runs with the ball. He does seem to need that complimentary game, we probably need to be more 30-35 running plays vs 30-35 passing. Probably need to emulate Seattle and let Tanny just game manage. He use to look like the guy who could carry a team in a pinch and i thought he was working toward the type a guy the offense could lean on but this year is proving me completely wrong on that.
yup. I think a seattle style or even a bills style offense would work here.
Anyone here been watching the LB’s from this draft class, like McKinney, Kendricks, Anthony, Perryman etc . . . ?
D
You’re preaching to the choir man. I’ve watched Tanny do this stuff for 4 years. But, his stats look good, so people ignore the basic QB shit he screws up weekly. I am not a Tanny hater, but he gets a pass way too often. This offense was built for him. These players were brought in for him, and he’s not getting it done. The coach gets blamed, the OL gets blamed, Lazor gets blamed, the receivers get blamed. How about we look at the guy who is supposed to make this offense work? But no, I’m a hater if I state the obvious.
There are good not Tanny reasons to blame the OL, the receivers (before this year, Lazor and the coaches
I think people always saw the game day screw ups
but with a young player you let it go for potential
it has nothing to do with stats IMO
but he is past that now
and he is way behind the 8 ball in terms of what an NFL QB should be
Odell Beckham would have had that snap yesterday

😀
Randy
You keep saying the offense was built for him, but who are these builders, and do any of them currently have employment in the NFL? Philbin, Sherman? Lazor would be gone too if it weren’t the middle of the season.
In the past, Game of Thrones would premiere within a week or so of Easter. But new HBO series Vinyl drops into the 9pm timeslot on Sunday, Feb. 14, and it has a 10-episode order. That puts its season finale on April 17. That means the Game of Thrones season 6 premiere date is almost certainly going to be Sunday, April 24 at 9pm.

I thought Ajayi was a bright spot as well
and Stills too
Ajayai definitely made me happy to see him. He IS the RB we need. He’s a pure north south runner and he gets really good acceleration before getting to the LOS. Maybe he will get more carries through the end of the year. Still potentially need another back drafted next year but if he continues to show like that, we cant probably wait deeper in the draft to get one. If he doesnt im all for drafting Derrick Henry from Alabama.

I don’t mind. No rush to get GOT going again. That bastard better get that book out, I want to read it already!

McKinney was starting for the Texans from game 1. Not sure about the other guys.
McKinney has played in every game but he just recently started starting for them. He has played decent in most recent games.
Anthony has started since day 1. Has 64 tackles, 1 sack.
MikeE,
I have no problem with blaming “the builders” too, but pretty much everyone here loved the moves this team made the last couple years. Hiring lazor(a QB guy), going to a short passing game which is great for stats, getting rid of all our WRs who supposedly were not a “good fit”. I think it’s a bit disingenuous for folks to backtrack now that it’s not working. I know you didn’t like Philbin….and he did nothing to keep his job, but he was not the problem with this team because they are playing exactly the way they played before he was fired.
The Flying Pig says:

Indeed Pig. They say the worse thing for a guy on the OL is when the broadcasters are talking about him a lot……..seemed like Fox was auditioning for the next Bravo reality show.
Kendricks has actually looked pretty good for the Vikings. They seems to really like his upside. He’s hurt right now. But, they traded the guy playing in front of him, so they feel comfortable with him starting. He would be an upgrade over our LBers.

Well you need a QB first and foremost

Its not like we will have another shot to sign a free agent like Brees
the fact that Tanny is not living up to his contract is a bigger deal IMO
if we want to replace Tanny we basically have to spend a high draft pick on a QB
there is nothing about signing Suh that stops us from doing that
I just personally hate have to start all over in terms of QB
I think in the NFL you need at least one stud on defense
its hard to consistently win in the NFl without playing good defense
and I think suh is a cornerstone to make that happen
but I can’t say the same thing for Tanny
Tanny is no cornerstone IMO
as a matter of fact I can’t say it for albert (Who I think has the 3rd highest salary) either who is never healthy
A stud is one thing- A stud making QB money is another, regardless of how valuable you think he is (“you” in general, not “you” specifically).
I posted the snap play how can you guys continue to say it wasn’t at his head? It’s clear to see. They’re not suppose to be that high. That’s like posting a picture of a bomb going off and people saying I didn’t see a bomb go off. LOL
It was a bad snap. One more time. It’s not debatable.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000574933/Dolphins-Ryan-Tannehill-fumbles-snap-Bills-get-the-safety
Then you must have visual difficulties, you can see the ball come straight at his right shoulder, he gets his hands up late and slaps the football up and behind him.
Also listen to the announcers….they say it just like we are. It wasnt a perfect snap but he should have had it.
Like Mike said above — it wasn’t just the position it was the speed.
Easier for a catcher to block a bad slow curve ball than a 100 MPH steamer thrown way off target.
Still…..you have to be prepared for the damn thing. There isnt one thing on that video that says to me…Ryan had not chance of fielding that.
And sometimes their is a judgment call on passed ball versus wild pitch. I’m going wild pitch.
Stephone Anthony
64 tackles, 1 sack.
Benardrick McKinney
20 tackles.
Eric Kendricks
38 tackles, 4 sacks.
Denzel Perryman
22 tackles.
Kendricks 4 sacks is really something
Anthony on pace for 100+ tackles
Perryman is a backup right now
I don’t really think style of play is hurting Tanny
I think we would be better with a serious running game
but I’m not sure that means Tanny doesn;t make mistakes when it matters
one thing about russell wilson is that he makes big play in bog moments
And, I just rewatched that safety a dozen times. The ball hits Tannehill’s hands basically right under his chin. The ball then sails over his head…after it hits him in the hands. Too much mustard on the snap…a QB who wasn’t ready….leads to a safety. They were both at fault.
But if he wasn’t ready…….isn’t he the guy who says when the ball is snapped?
guess he could have gotten the snap count wrong though.
Maybe if Lauren dressed up in a sexy mustard costume he would have a better handle on a bad snap
picture Lauren in this….no…just me?

Yeah it wasnt a perfect snap, but it was for sure catch-able IF he was paying better attention.
It’s above his face mask man. I just stopped it at that point. It’s at his eyes.
RT completed 27-36 75% for 309 yards and we’re talking about him playing poorly, throwing inaccurate passes etc.? He didn’t throw any TDs but he didn’t throw a pick either. How about that defense allowing 266 yards rushing? I laugh sometimes at what people focus on after a loss. Everything but the worst part of the game. I don’t get it. LOL
Now we’re defending a poor snap to pile on RT when everyone knows that’s not where a snap is suppose to be and it’s clear to see yet we have people denying reality. I must have signed into the bizarro world today.
but you know quoting his stats means nothing at the end of the day
if he is making costly mistakes or not making plays to win the game – that is a lot more important
A guy can pass for 150 yards and have a great game
He didn’t play poorly though. He didn’t play great but the defense lost this game – they gave up way too many big plays. I’m not even the biggest RT homer, I just think some people here bash the guy even when it’s not on him. Last week he played poorly. 9 incompletions on 37 pass attempts is not inaccurate stuff. I mean let’s be real here. Geez!
I must have signed into it as well because blatant disregard for anything he does wrong is running rampant. Im not saying he is the entire problem, ive called out other players but seem to be in complete disregard for his failures and how his failures are monumental to the success of the team. Im glad he gets mop up stats so he will continue to look good in some of your eyes, but where did his 302 yards get us? I know his disregard for holding on to the ball is 7 points for them. No one said the defense played well but how many failed drives on offense did we have, how many times when we were in crucial downs did he get it done?
A post was made about him being inaccurate when he was accurate all day. I watched the game, he was 20-25 at one point and finished 27-36 so it wasn’t garbage time stuff. I don’t think Tanny is elite but be fair.
I didnt say he was inaccurate….he was ineffective.
On 3rd and 7, he throws a pass to a receiver 3 yards downfield. Dead drive. He does this all the time its like he doesnt know where the friggin down marker is. Landry sure as shit knows.
Randy
I don’t really know anything about Lazor other than the fact he came from Chip Kelly’s program, and I hoped maybe he’d be an innovative guy. He does seem innovative, and maybe not always in a good way. He seems to love to go away from what works, perhaps to throw off opposing defenses. If the run game is going, stick with it! It’s baffling sometimes, but because there are so many facets to making things work, it’s hard to see why it doesn’t work. I don’t think Tanny has the killer instinct. I’ll readily admit that. He seems to be a guy who will do what his coaches tell him to do, and not much of an thinker or improviser. Not sure if he really grasps what needs to be done if he’s not told.
Problem is thats a skill needed to do proper reads and pick the right receiver, and he has missed a lot of those this year.
He has, no doubt.
Piggy,
I still love the Suh signing, but I don’t like what it does to our team’s ability to bring in top-tier guys in the future. I love Suh the player. Not so sure it was a great deal business-wise. We now have two huge contracts that are gonna be an issue going forward.
we basically can;t do another huge contract for a little while
and really – when you look at the packers or bengals, you can see a lot of teams are successful by using the draft and keeping their guys
T%his is basically where I’m at- it does not seem wise in a business sense, and I am not sure what he brings to the table if worth the cash outlay. Are 3 olivier Vernons’ more valuable than 1 Suh?
No IMO about vernon
I think 1 elite with 2 good players around him is more valuable than 3 good players
But I think my example proves out more than yours- see JJ Watt
MikeE,
I think actually calling plays in a game is an art. Lazor doesn’t seem to have it, but he’s still young. It’s not that he’s not a good offensive mind. He just does not call a good game. That’s where OC’s truly make their reputation. You can innovate all you want, but if you can’t adjust to what’s going on on the field on game day, you’re just not going to be successful. That’s what I keep hoping to see from Lazor, and he just doesn’t seem to have it. He might be able to draw up an offense on Thursday, but his implementation of it during the heat of the game just sucks.
He doesnt set up his plays, he doesnt adjust his game plan, half of his shit is straight from the game before so teams see the formation and know exactly whats coming. He’s not able to disguise anything.
I hear that. I agree.
Piggy,
I think our woeful drafting for a decade or more has gotten us to this point. We simply have not done a good job of bringing in talent. Every team can find mediocre talent. Successful teams find those gems in amongst the mediocrity from time to time. How many pro bowlers have we drafted in the past 10-15 years? I bet the number isn’t big.
Its definately a product of bad drafting
I think what we experience now goes back to 2008
but what they Parcels guys were experiencing goes back farther than that to the wanny/spielman days
I tend to think the 2014 draft was a pretty good draft
at least I do now – James and Landry are pretty good hits
Tim,
I’m willing to blame Pouncey just as much as Tanny on that safety. The bottom line is, you simply can’t allow that play to happen…no matter who’s fault it is. And, two weeks in a row just makes it that much harder to swallow for fans.
It starts with the snap. The error on RT is if he didn’t know the snap count. Catching that snap was impossible, like Mike E saw it, it was high and a bullet, it went off his hands and through the endzone that how much it had on it.
A good coach with the right scheme can win with tanny. He’s our QB for the next couple of years. Debating his play will get us nowhere.
Lets talk about the 2016 draft instead 🙂
D, I froze the play, his hands are touching the ball in his face. My eyes are fine.
BBL – I’m going to watch the Knicks game from yesterday. Kristaps Porzingis with his third double-double in 4 games. Things are pretty damn desperate when I’m relying on the Knicks for my sport entertainment, but the Dolphins are done, World Series is over, so . . .
Didn’t I tell you he was a good pick?
I know I was telling a Kocks fan (and I know a bunch of them) that he was a risk worht taking for a team stuck where the Knicks have been
lol @ Kocks instead of Knicks
worst typo ever
stanger,
No, actually, usually due to crowd noise…teams go with a silent count…which we did on that play. The QB signals he’s ready for the snap by putting his hands up to receive the ball. Our right guard then taps Poundey on the leg to let him know he can snap the ball…which he typically does after a one count. So, in truth, a QB in that situation has several seconds where he’s supposed to be ready for the snap. He should not have been not ready if that makes sense. Lol
LMAO @ Piggy! I thought you were funning on Knicks fans. 🙂
Lets go Kocks,,,,lol
Tim,
QBs handle high snaps in this league all the time. You prepare yourself for a bad snap just in case you need to react quickly, It’s actually better to have a high snap than a low snap. Let’s go by your view….the ball was at his eyes. That is still a snap he should handle. I don’t think it was the placement so much as the speed. The snap definitely had too much mustard on it. Just a bad play all around.
RT brings them in all the time and makes it look like easy. This was a high hard one, not the other way around it. It was a bad snap on the worst part of the field.
That said, why lineup in fucking shotgun on 1st down deep in our own end? LOL

********************
Bc they don;t have a QB
same with Mario Williams and Buffalo
But Clay Matthews or Richard sherman – who are top 10 in salary help there teams win
Its not enough to have a good QB
you need some defensive presence too
but you need that QB or the $ spent on defense is wasted
Defense is still not the top 5 or so in the league- the irony there is, niether do we! lol
CB’s always get paid more, but not qb money like suh
I would pay DL big $ before I paid a CB big money
Sherman and Haden are high paid QBs who play well – but I just think DL is more valuable
again, thae evidence does not seem to prove out your theory- and those cb’s aren’t making Suh money, are they?
Randy — it does make sense, but it was the first play of the game with the center Tanny has had his whole career. Maybe Brian was just thinking about what he wanted to eat after the game and the thought showed in his hands.
I watched the snap for the first time just now- based on what I see, it looks like it comes right at his face- Should he have caught it? Yes, because it’s his job, just like it’s a receivers job to catch a pass that hits him in the hands. Am I surprised he didn’t? No, it was moving pretty fast and he did not appear to be looking/ready for it. Was he more or less responsible for the safety? He was less responsible for it than was Pouncey or Pouncey’s signaller.
He doesn’t look ready for it so I can’t say whether he didn’t know the snap count or Pouncey snapped it early, but any way you slice it it was a bad snap deep in our own end. Nobody catches that snap if you’re not expecting it. But like I said earlier, why are we in shotgun on 1st down there?
Try,
Vernon has been a bit of a disappointment. I have always thought he was around an 8 sack a year guy…nothing special…but he’s not getting it done. LTs routinely stop his rushes. He’s too easily taken out of the game. Are 3 of him worth one Suh? Probably not because a guy like Suh can change a game for you and Vernon probably can’t. We simply overpaid for Suh, but that’s how top end FA works these days. You have to overpay to get those guys. We did the same with Wallace. Those sorts of moves don’t kill you if you do them to supplement good, solid drafting. We’ve been doing them out of desperation to fill holes because our drafts have been lacking.
My point is, is it better to have one elite guy and a bunch of good to ok guys, or three second level guys with several good to ok guys? I think it’s better to have more second level guys- I think the Patriots prove this out. In fact, I’m not sure they even have second level guys, but they get solid players that know their role and obviously produce.
The other thing is, if you lose one onf your second level guys (you always do, i.e., injury) you still have access to your other guys, but if you lose your elite guy, who you’ve built your whole defense around, then your screwed.
brady is not a 2nd level guy.
Brady also doesn’t play defense, which has been the basis of my argument since before Suh was signed.
Tim,
Agreed! Get under center there and pound the damn ball! Then no safety, hopefully.
try,
you can have a bunch of 2nd level guys on D when you have an offense like the pats. Its a lot easier to play defense that way.
The game is designed to encourage offense and protect the qb- spending money on defense seems to go away from the way the game is coached/officiated
I didn’t want suh here. I thought he was too expensive so I don’t disagree with you.
One great player does not seem to offset what the Pats do- a team with second level guys seems to do better- like the jets- And possibly the Broncos in a few weeks
I don;t know if he is 2nd level or not
but he’s an asshole
look at this jerk eating these kittens!
LOL

Campbell doesnt have his Boss Balls yet. Dont know that he knows what to do with that situation. He should have fired Lazor with Coyle and then he could have promoted someone to OC or just told Saunders its his job. Im assuming Saunders really doesnt want the role.

Never too early for that :). Should just do it this week while he’s at it.
Worked for John Harbaugh who fired OC Cam Cameron while the Ravens were 9-4 back in 2012.
Vernon isn’t earning a big payday in FA next year that’s for sure. I was hoping he’d take his game to another level but it’s not happening.
At this point I don’t care who stays and who goes. This team looks the same no matter who’s in there and I don’t get it.
Weak front office is always a doomsday thing.
sad but true. At this point a top 5 pick would be good. But we’ll probably ruin it by taking someone like Dion Jordan. Rooting for this team is so frustrating.

Agreed 🙂
I just think it was the wrong game to put on RT. Our defense gave up way too many big plays and we have trouble scoring on the Bills so once again no complimentary football. I picked this game 20-17 and that’s the kind of game we needed from the defense.
It seemed that after the offense gave up the safety the defense gave up.
And grimes had a terrible game. Basically the reason we lost. That and our rush defense.
Tim,
It’s frustrating. Not even teams like the Packers & Patriots who have monster QB put their QB in that situation.
Yeah I mean enough with the shotgun.
Boulder,
We can only hope Chip Kelly is thirsty for Jordan and would offer a 2nd RDer
I think he’s more 12th rder material. LOL
If Jordan can get himself on the field next year and produce it would be a miracle.
It seems obvious to me that boy does not want to be in Miami. Whether he wants to be anywhere at all I don’t know, but Miami does not seem to be to his liking.
Why do you say that?
Because it seems obvious to me? It is my opinion based on what I have seen/heard/surmised. I suspect he might stay clean for Kelly, but I don’t know that- but he won’t even put in the effort for a fan base that seemed poised to root for him.
Wasn’t it just a week after being suspended for the season he was shown partying with some friends? Does he have no self-awareness?
suh is not playing up to his salary next year LOL
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero
Suh cap number at $28.6M next year. So it will likely require restructure.
I’m not even trying to argue that he is not a top-level guy- he is a beast. But the expense of him on defense and the limitations he puts on the team to attract other talent (because they can’t pay for them- I clarified in case FFR showed up (lol)) seems to preclude going after guys of his stature on that side of the ball.
Maybe it gets restructured……but that is exactly what they planned for when they signed him. They also pushed Tanny’s biggest cap hit years off until 2017. Maybe they change the overall plan……but Aponte set up just like she wanted with our two bopper contracts.

Another embarrassing Dolphins number: Stats Inc. reports this was first time in NFL history team allowed 2 100-yd rushers &150-yd WR same gm
—–
😦
well that’s what happens when your team is more ready to play in the NCAA than NFL.
The two 100 yard rushers only came cause Shady got hurt…..not that the overall total wouldn’t have been about the same if he hadn’t.
And yeah Watkins crushed us. We don’t match up well against top-notch receivers with the altitude thing going on. Old news on that though.
As Herd noted, we don’t match up well with any team on a football field.
Smallish corners.
We’re number 1- in records no one wants to have!
Tim, we will have to agree to disagree because i too freeze framed the snap and the ball right before he brings his hands up is making a B-line right to his right shoulder. After he brings his hands up (very late) his hands make contact with the ball and it deflect off past his right shoulder and over his head. We apparently see different things. Ive watched that play plenty of times now and do not see what you see.
I do think we all agree on WTF was us in shotgun on that snap, well there are lots of snaps i think that on but i digress.
Mike, Try and I all saw it in his face. I’ve watched it enough, it’s the same every time.
Again, i know what frame your talking about, but its the one before it thats key. The frame right before the ball gets to him. It is what it is. I see what you are pointing out but thats after it deflected off his hand.
Randy also saw what i did….. so…..

Smallish corners.
—————————————
Smallish corners should match up well with Watkins. Grimes just looked bad yesterday. He got burned so many times. Slipped a lot, but in general just was unable to keep good position on him. I would like to see some of our bigger CB getting some experience through the rest of the year. I think its time to turn the page, let Taylor walk, get Grimes to re-negotiate or be cut.
Why should the smaller corners match up well with Watkins?
D, it was a bad snap no matter how you slice it. If you’re not ready for that snap you’re not catching it.
Right and the QB should be ready for it. Why arent you paying attention in that situation.
Maybe it was snapped early as he was still reading the defense because that’s what it looked like.

Randy also saw what i did….. so…..
Yeah but he was wrong. LOL
Watkins on his big day:
“I live by the film. I watched (Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes) in every game from 2-3 years ago and watched how he plays press and doesn’t switch it up. So I set it up to keep taking him inside, keep selling it. I beat him inside on the first throw, so I knew when in doubt that he’s going to jump inside if I do it. So I double-moved him inside, sold him with my body. He jumped, and I just put my hand up, and Tyrod delivered the ball.”
———–
Makes sense. Grimes makes up for his lack of height by keeping tight coverage and predicting the right time to break up the pass using his athleticism. He’s listed as 5’10 in some places but don’t kid yourself on that.
A taller and athletic WR and he’s pretty much got just one chance unless the throw is off. We need someone else in that role. And wouldn’t Grimes make a perfect slot corner anyhow?
Grimes has had success against bigger WRs notably Calvin Johnson but I think he might be slowing down and if he doesn’t guess right he loses the battle.
He’s still a great corner, but he has his weaknesses just like we all do. Think he can stick with the shift ones and can predict when to pounce on the big’uns. Problem is the ones that are shifty and still have a bunch of inches on him. So he might be able to deal with C Johnson, but maybe not with Dez.
