Mike Pouncey, Rishard Matthews, Jelani Jenkins, Jordan Phillips, Earl Mitchell, CJ Mosley, Jarvis Landry everyone took some hits yesterday
But no more than you the Dolfan…
The jests fondled and groped each other to a big dominant victory.
It seems like all season we have seen some jaw dropping stat lines. This week it was rushing stats. How is this for you – Jests ran for 137 yards. Dolphins 12. Ouch
The jests finished the game with 38 points but most of them were through the air as Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 4 TDs.
2 of those TDs were caught by “Stabby” himself. Good job Marshall – I will shank you!
The Jests gained 277 yards in the air, which is significantly less than the 351 yards the Dolphins gained in the air. But the Dolphins were trailing the entire day after failing to score with great field position on three consecutive drives to start the game.
What’s a matter feeling a little sick?
Well here is the good news. Jarvis Landry had another good day. Landry caught 13 passes for 165 yards and a TD. In a horrible season Landry continues to play hard and show he is the real deal. That’s 65 catches on the year for 651 Yards and 3 TDs. And that doesn’t even include his special teams impact or rushing yards.
There were some drops by the other receiver but rookie DeVante Parker finally made an impact and scroed a TD on a 33 yard catch with a lot of YAC. Parker finished the game with 80 yards.
Another rookie Jay Ajayi caught 4 passes for 52 yards.
On the bright side rookies like Parker, Ajayi, Douglas
, Phillips and even Good Ole Bobby McCain are seeing the field are getting some playing time and playing hard. And when you are 4-7 you need to look to the future…
Let’s keep nursing those baby Dolphins!

I admit that I’d like to see more fire from Tannehill, but some guys just aren’t that way. It does seem to be something lacking in him. I’m sure he cares, but he doesn’t seem like a real competitive guy.
Agreed….problem is I see no leaders on this team. Jarvis Landry and Reshad Jones are our best players. This team is not talented and we’ve seen it in these embarrassing losses. Tanny is inconsistent and I believe has a low football IQ.
I don’t know if he has a low football IQ, or just some real bad habits. When you feel like you don’t have time to operate with, you start rushing everything, including the decision processes. I saw him make an awful lot of bad decisions yesterday. On the other hand, the fact that he wasn’t given power to audible makes you wonder if somethings missing.
He looks pissed a lot and makes his remarks known on the sidelines and in the locker room from what I’ve seen. But if you want temper tantrums, then I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO FUCKIN TELL YA OK!?!?!?!

I don’t see it man. I see Brady freaking out last night when his C didn’t snap the ball in time, and he had to call a time out. I just don’t see that. I can’t stand Brady, but I’m telling you, those guys in the huddle respect Brady, and when he chews out his O-line like that, he makes them know they’re accountable. They probably don’t like him, they might even hate him, but I guarantee they all respect him.
That’s from all the winning. When things aren’t going well everything gets questioned and that’s fine. But I’m not going to pretend that Tanny never plays well to verify questioning everything about him during tough times which happens all the time in sports. I’ve been hearing it about Eli for years.
Of course it’s from winning, but it’s a product of winning. Some of the best coaches in football are hated because they yell at their players, and chew them out when they fuck up. Parcells was famous for doing that. His players were always accountable, and they responded. I know the game has changed since then, but we can make fun of Brady from today till tomorrow, he’s a great leader, and his team responds and respects him, that’s without question.
I posted on last page. They used to say the same like of fire and leadership about Eli. Some leaders yell, some do it by their play. Where Tannehill is on this is hard to see if he lacks fire or is this team just a wreck no matter if he is yelling or balling. I don’t know the answer.
Ya know, it’s interesting how I hear Viking fans up here have some of the same, exact conversations we have. Honestly, I think we’re all fairly civil and considerate compared to some of the arguments I hear. I wonder if it’s just like that for every team.
Tim, I mentioned Earl Morrall earlier because you or somebody claimed that your season is lost if you have to rely on a backup QB for more than a couple of games.
As a modern example, Brock Osweiler ‘might’ be the future for Denver, and this remaining season even if Peyton feels better/like he can go throw more INT’s. 😉

Both are different situations. Morrrall was in a time when there was no salary cap and you can carry a vet backup. To expect that in today’s game is unrealistic. In Denver’s case, Osweiler was a 2nd round pick who was drafted to be Peyton’s heir apparent. Additionally he is playing now because he is better than Peyton at this point because Peyton’s skills have significantly declined.
LOL, why does everyone always come with a “hey, you can’t make those comparisons, that was different than this situation’ LOL, they’re all different. But no one ever goes, yeah, good point of when a team gets it right or at least got lucky, or was a real good coached team then…. 🙄

True except for his 1st SB team that beat the Ken Anderson led Bengals. That team, especially on offense was pretty vanilla. RBs Ricky Cooper, Paul Hofer and Bill Ring. WRs Freddie Solomon and Dwight Clark were pretty good but neither were ever elite. That to me was Montana’s greatest season by taking that group and winning SB

The refs need to all sit in seminars and really review this season and not come out until they all agree on what the hell a catch is. They suck and are ruining the game more than ever before.
I think they are so afraid they’ll get overturned that they try to make the safest call, which in some cases the is no call at all- but the catch rule seems to be able to be interpreted by each individual as they see fit.

I think a leader can lead in many ways. It doesn’t have to always be in a demonstrative way. Fans always love that because it’s visual, and we can SEE their passion…or so we tell ourselves. Sometimes we’re just seeing guys lose their cool….which rarely helps.

I don’t believe a leader has to be that sort of guy, but he has to be a guy who sets the tone for what will or won’t be tolerated as far as preparation and accountability, and I do believe he has to show he has passion for the game. That starts with him, but he has to demand it of his teammates too. Coaches can only do so much. Great teams are built from within.

There’ve just been far too many things with this team over the past 5 years or so that suggest nobody is doing that with this team. I’m not even talking about Tannehill. But, the reality of the NFL is that he is thrust into a leadership role whether he likes it or not as a QB. Is he…and the other leaders on this team…demanding that from one another? I’ll settle for meaningful fourth quarter tds and being in tight games late and having a chance to win.

the refs already agree on what a catch is. if the pats wr touches the ball or it lands within a two yard vicinity of him that is a catch. if their opponent catches the ball and doesnt hold in to it thru the post game shower then that is incomplete cause he didnt make a football move.
Lazor’s offense also got too pass-happy, as evidenced by the 58-9 pass-to-run distribution in Sunday’s loss to the New York Jets.
Lazor now has a chance to be a star HC in the AFL.

I liked Osweiller too and he was lucky that he didn’t get thrown in there. He might be alright going forward.
His freakish height for a QB @ 6’8 could affect his passing. You could see it some last nite. But that’s something he can work on.
I did like how he had a pretty quick release where most longer arm QB’s like that would have more of a big wind up, so that will help him.

During his appearance on PFT Live Monday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald said that the decision to fire offensive coordinator Bill Lazor was made by interim head coach Dan Campbell and not executive vice president for football operations Mike Tannenbaum or anyone else in the front office.
Campbell said the same thing during his Monday press conference while discussing Lazor’s departure from the team. Campbell called it 100 percent his decision and that it came after he shared his feeling with Tannenbaum and team owner Stephen Ross. Campbell pointed to the team’s lack of balance offensively — 61 called passes in Sunday’s loss to the Jets and nine runs — as the reason why he wanted to make a change.
“We have to find a way to become a more physical offense,” Campbell said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “We need more of a physical presence. How ever we establish that, that’s what I’m looking for. I don’t think we scare anybody in the AFC East and that bothers me. We need to find a way, even if it is two yards and a cloud of dust. … I am a more run-oriented person. I want to be more balanced. I like a more balanced approach.”
He’s right get the ball and our fate out of Tannehill’s hands.
Does it matter who fired Lazor? He fired himself as far as I’m concerned.
I just hope this gets Tannehill going and we see hope because all I see is despair with him.

Don’t expect a ton of difference. It takes time to switch to a new system, so they’ll ride this one out with more an emphasis on running….but many of the run plays were poorly designed as are the passing plays.
Next year is where we’ll wanna see what a new OC and or HC & DC can do with their systems.

I think this will be my last year as a Dolphins fan. All is dark on the horizon. Tannanbum is in charge. Mangini will be the new HC!!! We are in cap hell and have no way to replenish the team with quality players. We have too much money tied up in Suh and Tannehill and Albert. None of whom are worth it.

WR screens should not be such a high % of your offense
I think a Lazor took Chip Kelly’s offense to an up extreme
And that paired with Philbins finesse design has just made it easy for teams to beat us

The season was conceded after week four when they fired the head coach. The only thing that can come from a better showing from the team the rest of the year is putting us back into the middling draft pick range again. what sucks is I can’t even look forward to the potential for hope because I have no confidence in Ross or Tannanbaum making the right decisions.

you do kind of get the cheats have this guy named brady. and an offensive they have run for years. a defense that can stop other teams, the refs and a head coach who knows hot to cheat.

Wow, that’s as bad as a QB/coaching job as I’ve seen to end a game since Eli and Caughlin opening week. The Brown’s with 40 seconds left from the Ravens 42 run the clock all the way down to 9 seconds on a QB scramble that gets 9 yrds, and the idiot slides instead of running out of bounds to gain 3 more yards to make it a manageable Fg. With 9 seconds left, ok to run I guess, but don’t put the QB under center and tell them you’re going to run for -1. How ’bout throwing for 5 yrds? The kick now from 51 is blocked and returned for a TD.
I think the Browns will fire the coach after the yr, and we’ll end up with him next yr.
