Hey Dolfans
The Dolphins took a beating on Sunday and need the sweet tender touch of Nurse Pokey.
Mike Pouncey, Rishard Matthews, Jelani Jenkins, Jordan Phillips, Earl Mitchell, CJ Mosley, Jarvis Landry everyone took some hits yesterday
But no more than you the Dolfan…
The jests fondled and groped each other to a big dominant victory.
It seems like all season we have seen some jaw dropping stat lines. This week it was rushing stats. How is this for you – Jests ran for 137 yards. Dolphins 12. Ouch
The jests finished the game with 38 points but most of them were through the air as Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 4 TDs.
2 of those TDs were caught by “Stabby” himself. Good job Marshall – I will shank you!
The Jests gained 277 yards in the air, which is significantly less than the 351 yards the Dolphins gained in the air. But the Dolphins were trailing the entire day after failing to score with great field position on three consecutive drives to start the game.
What’s a matter feeling a little sick?
Well here is the good news. Jarvis Landry had another good day. Landry caught 13 passes for 165 yards and a TD. In a horrible season Landry continues to play hard and show he is the real deal. That’s 65 catches on the year for 651 Yards and 3 TDs. And that doesn’t even include his special teams impact or rushing yards.
There were some drops by the other receiver but rookie DeVante Parker finally made an impact and scroed a TD on a 33 yard catch with a lot of YAC. Parker finished the game with 80 yards.
Another rookie Jay Ajayi caught 4 passes for 52 yards.
On the bright side rookies like Parker, Ajayi, Douglas
, Phillips and even Good Ole Bobby McCain are seeing the field are getting some playing time and playing hard. And when you are 4-7 you need to look to the future…
Let’s keep nursing those baby Dolphins!
Oh…one more thing…bend over and get ready for the final 5 games of the season. Pokey is coming for you!

First Update
DOLPHINS-RAVENS
T/P 21-12 BAL
WE’RE BAD 😦
Now someone take down the Panthers; They still have 5 NFL games to play and against some teams fighting for the Wild Card. If that dont happen then I wont mind the Patriots winning the Super Bowl
Good to hang with Mike E at the game yesterday, albeit in a horrendous showing by our Dolphins. It’s clear we need a complete overhaul. Unfortunately, Tannenbaum is going nowhere, so he will be the ones making the decisions on the staff we bring in. We can only pray that he gets it right. I think we beat the Ravens handily next week, but the rest of the season looks pretty grim.
BOOM
Blow up the whole damn franchise! Clear everyone out starting with Tannenbaum
You had the “Tanne” part right, lol
There’s no way he’s firing his football czar because the last guys QB is a wuss. Fix the D, get a QB and move on. It’s football this isn’t hard.
Did any of you see the fired up, emotional, smooth play of Osweiller in only his second start last night?
Well, he doesn’t have to play behind this line and he hasn’t had 3 regime changes and his receivers no where the ball is going to be and run to that spot and his coordinator calls a better game and blah blah blah and yadda yadda yadda so….
Oh yeah, I forgot- he doesn’t play half his games at sea level and it’s not as hot and his defense is better and he has been on the bench watching an all-timer and…
He’s got my vote
I’m thinking the Broncos will be my ‘replacement’ team for the rest of the season. They earned it last night.
AMEN, HERD!!!!–I turned off the TV when the Cheats took a 21-7 lead in the 3rd quarter. Was astonished when I turned on the TV this morning and found that Denver had won in OT!!–My Monday will be much better!!
———–
I PLAN ON having a special sign for the Patriots when they come to Miami early January. Instead of “Less Filling” and “Tastes Great” I’ll have “BRADY CHEATS” and “KRAFT LIES”
Bill Lazor was fired this morning.
Yay
After the past couple of games it was clear the insanity of doing the same things over and over and expecting different results on offense was not going to cut it.
This is a franchise in total free-fall- no direction, no purpose, no where to turn for answers. What’s the point of firing Lazor now? You can’t turn the season around, the coaches left aren’t coming back… finish the season, evaluate in the off-season, get new leadership to put in a blueprint and fix this thing.
the other side of the coin is what is the point of keeping Bill Lazor?
we knew he would be fired at season’s end
it really doesn’t matter who the OC is now
yesterday was the nail in the coffin for the season
I would rather not watch 15 WR screens a game for the last 5 games
The point of keeping Lazor is you have to pay him. I realize it’s not my money, but just in general it seems a waste from a business standpoint. And to put it back to you- what’s the point in letting him go with 5 games left? Is the team going to improve, and even if they do, does it matter as there will be wholesale changes in the offseason? It looks like ownership is just throwing darts and seeing where they land, or more appropriately, Hail-Mary’s to see if someone will catch it, but we know the truth- 99 out of a hundred don’t end in a score for your team.
Glad they fired Lazor. Who cares where we we’re heading, Lazor wasn’t going to be a part of it, and I think he sucks for the team anyway. Went to the game yesterday, and saw Taylor getting abused all day. Grimes did too, but at least Grimes has had a great career. Taylor = Toast.
Taylor rhymes with Lazor, so maybe he’ll be gone soon too.
Logan Ryan was drafted almost a round after Jamar Taylor
oops
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/broncos-appropriately-fire-back-at-tom-brady-s-facebook-photoshop-124627425.html
LOL
Try
At season’s end they are going to be in the same place anyway
It really doesn’t matter if they fire lazor now or in December or when Philbin was fired
I think Campbell always gave the impression that he was not making a decision on Lazor
****
Anyway for the last 5 games of the season we can’t fire anyone else….lol
I’m told we have the 7th pick in the 2016 draft right now
we need to be in top 5. Go Phins! you can do it 🙂
hickey will be gone as well. Lazor firing is a bit too late. I think even tannenbaum should be worried. when you get blown out in every division game you play means time for big, big changes.
Don’t agree about Hickey but I could see it happening. Tannebaum is safe
I thought tannenbaum was safe but right now I’m not so sure. If we lose every remaining game i think tannenbaum job is on shaky grounds. if hickey sticks then this team has no future with Ross as owner because he’s obviously clueless.
I can understand why Campbell didn’t want to make wholesale changes out of the gate
but it didn’t work out for him
Piggy,
I think it does make a difference. To me, this is just like going after Harbaugh when you have Sporano- it looks Bush-league and sends a message to all potential candidates that there exists no organizational direction or voice in place- it’s a free-for-all, throw shit against the wall and see what sticks, we have no rudder on this boat kind of organization. It’s embarrassing. I could see it if the season was salvageable, but it’s not.
My feeling as this season has gotten worse is Ross may feel he was sold a bunch of BS from Tannenbaum on down. All the positive talk of how talented this team is, adding Suh, signing both Tannehill and Pouncey to extensions and then he sees these results. If he goes after a proven HC which he should, he can’t have people in place that will turn them off. But who knows, maybe Tannenbaum helps him in the search and looks to someone he has a relationship with. But I don’t think we can go for a first time HC this time around. It has to be someone who has proven they can win.
I tend to agree with going with someone that has previous HC experience.
well the new hc candidates are gonna love this team. good draft choice position, a decent defense with 2 pro bowlers, good cb, 3 decent OL, young smart qb, 3 good wr’s 1 good blocking te, and we have decent cap room to sign a very good player or several decent fa. The new coach can mold this team very easily to be a playoff team in a very short period almost like the sf team several yrs back.
good cb? who is that grimes? he got killed by every AFC east receiver this year. grimes is gone next year.
we need a big cb to cover the big guys
my coaches pick in no particular order
jackson
marrone
john harbaugh
sean peyton
shula
3 of those coaches have not proven anything as HCs in the NFL.
who cares.
LOL, she needs the…
http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/olivia-culpo-calls-it-quits-with-tim-tebow-over-his-abstinence-report-78885
I saw that yesterday. I didn’t read it because I figured the likelyhood of any true reporting was small, and I never hated Tebow as a person, I hated him as a starting nfl qb.
It has nothing to do with hating him. I found it funny. She needs it and isn’t getting it. LOL
*likelihood
Speculation or fact?
sounds like she may have some pent up demand. Maybe you can stalk her and get lucky because of Timmy,Tim
Or maybe she can give you a lap dance.
man, that would be nice
I’m not sure what good firing Lazor right now does, but at least he is GONE. He’s the worst coaching hire this franchise has made since Damn Cameron.
Probably so they can change things up and maybe begin to work on some more fundamental basics like RUNNING THE FUCKIN FOOTBALL!!!!
Yes- it’s important the next coaching regime know what the capabilities of the team is.
What a concept, right? How many carries did we have on Sunday? lol

whoever was responsible for giving tanny his 95m contract should be fired as well. Not sure why we had to do that deal last year.
It’s a move of confidence that you’re our guy and we’re committed to you. Agree or disagree, that’s what it’s about.
disagree. Luck which was a lot better than tanny didn’t get the same vote. he’s still trying to earn that contract. Tanny is not the problem with this team and he’s not the solution. he’s a game manager if that. He’s a glorified alex smith. Actually I would take smith over tanny right now.
Hmm.. is Tanne a “glorified Alex Smith” or is Smith a better Tanne?
We didn’t have to do it, but by doing it earlier we got him at a discount. He left money on the table later for security early, and that included not getting it guaranteed the way a lot of QB contracts are.
He’s pretty much a cap cut candidate after next year if he doesn’t show it on the field.
What? How careless to let a QB change a play! And with only 2 games of starting experience!:
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/broncos-25-old-quarterback-changed-144217175.html
Great to see Parker actually play.
Liked what he showed.
That’s a hard combination of size, moves and speed for a CB to cover.
He should be a demands double coverage down the road.
He has a lot of talent.
agree with this. These guys should have been fired after 13 season. clueless ross.
Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero 10m10 minutes ago
Dolphins fired the HC, DC, OC after losses to NYJ this yr. Should have fired same crew after losses to NYJ in ’13 and ’14 finales.
Shoulda woulda coulda. What’s the purpose of reports like this? Oh right it’s Mando. LOL
its “we told you so ross you moron”
Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley
Ryan Tannehill has now twice gotten Mike Sherman fired, he’s gotten Joe Philbin fired, and now he’s gotten Bill Lazor fired.
Yep, just him. More tabloid reporting. Here it comes, all the second guessing and scapegoating. Great! 😦
its true. Tanny started blaming the offensive scheme when sherman was about to get fired. Last week he blamed the scheme and now got lazor fired.
Like Tebow’s girlfriend leaving him because she wasn’t getting any?
stanger,
do you really think we got tanny at a discount? do you think he would get that contract after this year? from anyone? Shit tyrod taylor deserves that contract more than tanny does.
We’ve all seen Tanny play better than this. It’s easy to blame him for the clusterfuck this team has become. But I’m sure this team has been losing confidence regardless of whether they admit it or not after they fired Philbin. When your HC gets fired, it’s not a sign you as a player are performing well. Players are human.
I do think that Boulder…….so did a lot of the people writing about it who are supposed to know a lot more than me. So I’m no alone in that. Like it or not, QBs get paid a lot.
I still don’t think we got him at a discount. If anything I bet we could have gotten him for cheaper after this year.
You might be right given how the team has done, but then neither him, the front office or we knew that when the contract was signed.
this is how most teams feel when they play you marsha. Last night you didn’t get every call. Whine a little more.
“”Sometimes we’re getting [the calls] and sometimes we don’t,” Brady said on Monday. “We didn’t get any last night. I don’t know why or why not. You think they’re looking at it, and they probably are. Sometimes officials miss it, too. I totally understand that. They’re not — I don’t know. I have no clue.””
try,
tanne is alex smith with bling. (or I should say hot wife 🙂
I don’t know- if you’re into bottle-blonds, she’s not too shabby.
Dolphins are 4-2 in non-division games.
Almost makes you think that opposing coordinators getting familiar with our schemes and personnel is not to our benefit.
Boulder, I’d blame the offensive schemes too. Sherman and now Lazor don’t commit to the running game and call ridiculous plays. Both of those OCs have set records for least amount of rushing attempts and yards in a game in team history. We fans have been saying the same thing the last few years so why wouldn’t Tanny feel that way? Our offensive approach is some of the worst crap I’ve ever seen.
I think the blame should go to philbin. That’s the offense he wanted to run. mostly pass.
He’s been fired so pointless to keep blaming him. It didn’t work and everything will be torn down and built back up by a new regime.
Joe Philbin was fired because he lost the entire team. Coyle was fired because he lost the defensive players. That’s not on Tanny but by all means, continue to pile on just him if it makes people feel better. SMH
Try, what’s your problem with me finding the Tebow article funny? Are you in love with him or something?
No problem- just looking for some consistency in your arguments. It’s ok to speculate about one but not about the other? By all means, carry on.
Speculating? The report was she wanted to have sex. Apples and oranges – one was a joke, the other is about the state of a football team. I find it weird you even compared the two but whatever.
Like I said, if you don’t see the inconsistency regardless of the subject in both cases, then carry on.
Tannehill’s contract isn’t difficult to get out after next year. That’s been reported since he signed it.
I think he needs real competition in camp next year.
I’m willing to see what he can do in a real offense. This team has more issues than just Tannehill. The OL still needs work and the defense has major voids too.
I can see the fins making a great improvement next year with a FA or high draft choice of OL . Sort of like SF did with yearly high draft choices each year. Good running game will help the Defense with less time on field. Tanny will have more time to pass with less sacks.I can’t remember in 50 yrs of watching the NFL have I seen any team go through the bad luck of OL injuries or contract terminations or discipline issues that has prevented a team from gaining a consistence of playing together.
Ryan Tannehill
2,991 passing yards (7th in the NFL)
62% completion rate
20 TDs
11 INTS
88.7 QB rating
————-
He might not ever be elite, but that is a more than legit NFL starting QB.
You might want elite (who wouldn’t), but then you have to figure out how to get it.
And btw — Cam Newton’s QB rating is 89.5.
All that goes to show you is how unreliable a rating system can be all by itself (i.e., without context). Newton is the better QB right now and those numbers do not show it- all they say is numerically on a scale they are equal.
A lot of overreactions to a bad team. I guess blaming one guy is easier to accept. LOL
you might want to add he is the most sacked QB in the last 3 years. He doesn’t complain either.
he’s QB rating is 21st. He’s 3rd down and 4th quarter stats are pretty bad.
He can use some competition in camp.
But then you have to bring in the competition and pay for it, whether via draft capital or money. I could see maybe getting a guy in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th to groom or bring in a troubled high potential FA on the cheap (think Kaep), but man I don’t want to pay for the QB of the future when Tanny is legit and we have to pay for him regardless.
tim,
defense is the main problem with this team. THey play one or 2 good series a game. That’s bad.
There’s a lot wrong with this team.
Boulder, I think leadership at the top is the main problem with this team- everything else is a result.
agreed
If you look at the contracts of our main OL it looks like we are set up with OL who’s contracts are spaced apart each year, so we don’t have 2 or more contracts expiring in any one year.
Stats can be misleading at times. While I don’t fault at any entirely, he is a part of the problem in offense. How many of those yards/TDs were in garbage time after we were already getting blown out?
Stats aren’t important as this time. There is an organizational issue and the flood gates have opened up.
There is no stats for critical mistake at critical times
or not coming through when necessary
Tanny has not been a QB we can win a lot of games with so f
OOPS
UNFINISHED
so far
but the fact that he manages to produce passing stats late is worth something I guess
I don’t think we should flat out give up on Tanny
I just don’t think he is performing well
and his stats don’t tell the story
agreed. You can’t put a stat on “winning attitude” which most winners have. Tanny is a manager. He doesn’t seem to care too much about winning IMO.
Brian — yes they can be, but the main part where Tanny is to blame is not being as much of the solution as he has the potential to be. He should be down the list of what we point to as the problem except for the position he plays.
I see Try’s playing blog moderator today. Obviously you’re sensitive for Tebow.
I see Tim is playing “I’m smarter than everybody” today. What’s obvious is that any derision people point at Tannehill get’s you upset.
Because if you blame one player for what you’ve been seeing with this team you don’t know what you’re talking about. I said RT isn’t playing well. If you see that as the only issue, that’s on you.
Maybe Tebow just doesn’t like the vag. Could be who knows. Just pure speculation on my part. That better?
Lol- I don’t care about Tebow- that misses the entire point. And though I don’t know why someone as smart as you can’t see that or what that has to do with me “playing blog moderator”, it really doesn’t matter. I have told you nicely, with no animosity to carry on. Please continue.
can we turn our offense to a smash mouth offense with the players we have? I think we can with this draft by drafting a high OL Guard or two maybe a draftee and FA or best of 2 guards we have now and draft another OL next year 2017.
our oline is not smash mouth oline. They’re an athletic finesse oline.
it might take a complete overhaul of the OL to go smash mouth
I don’t think its a great idea to change entire offenses or defenses (for instance from 4-3 to 3-4) if we want success sooner rather than later
I have to disagree with you guys. We can run the ball with the guys we have, but we may have to add 2 guards who have played in a offense that plays mostly smash mouth. Pouncy, albert and james(rt) have played smash mouth before and would probably like playing it again.
cam newton is on a team that plays really good defense and runs the ball well. You put tanny in that same situation the results will be better but not as good as cam has been. Newton is a winner. He’s won at every level. Tanny hasn’t won anywhere.
Smashmouth isn’t the issue. The Seahawks run a ZBS and the great Denver teams with TD running all over everyone was the same scheme we run. The difference is/was, they don’t run out of shotgun all the time.
we run the packers model of zbs. you know the one that doesn’t work LOL.
The ZBS is mainly in the run game. It works better under center so play-action is always an option. Shotgun takes away that deception for the defense. I do not think RT is a QB you put in the pocket 40+ times. We bootlegged him once yesterday that I remember and he threw a bullet for a 1st down. He should be doing that multiple times throughout a game. He threw 58 times yesterday and I know why it got that high, but we are now 0-5 in games where he throws 40+ passes and is now 2-14 in his career.
Hmmm… maybe that’s not his game. An analogy could be like allowing a pitcher to go 8 and 9 innings where he loses the lead every time. Maybe he’s a good 7 inning pitcher like Grenkie is.
Try, I do not understand your speculation point at all. The Tebow post was a fucking joke! Capiche! Geez!
I understand.
Anybody catch the end of the Steelers/Seahawks game where the defender intercepted while going to the ground and it was reviewed to see if he maintained possession after rolling over? It was the exact thing I was arguing here weeks ago about the Grimes INT.
To continue on the same theme (which isn’t so much about me being right, and is more about how inconsistently games are called with even basic shit). I don’t have any clue what rules govern the clock starting and stopping anymore. I almost brought this up after the Dallas game.
1st half Dallas has the ball and is driving, under 3:00 minutes. They get a holding penalty which we accept. The clock kept running once the ball was re-spotted. I was yelling at the TV why is the clock running?! I thought I understood the clock rules but they have changed them so many times I don’t get it anymore. Of course when we’re playing the Jest, similar situation, this time after the penalty (clock under 3:00 minutes) the clock doesn’t restart once spotted. I see weird little stuff like this all the time.
I am so frustrated with the inconsistencies. It makes me believe there really is league-wide manipulation, or at the least league-wide incompetence.
And anyone that saw the Niners/Cardinals game will agree, that was one of the worst officiated games ever. INCOMPETENT refs.
Cav — there are always going to be problems when you create rules that depend on judgment calls, but yeah it is getting a bit silly these days. Maybe they are over thinking it.
Sorta like baseball’s take on balls and strikes. Nah we don’t really know what they are…..just adjust to the home plate ump on a given day and if you bitch about it you are outta there. Play ball.
We put together a smash mouth offensive line we can shorten the game (top) and make the use of our wr’s more dangerous with play action.
we have great flexibility with Albert and Pouncy playing guard in college and Pouncy playing guard and center in pro’s. Centers are usually not drafted in first so maybe we can draft one in 2nd or 3rd.
Cav, the officiating has been really bad for years and getting worse. They need to simplify the rules to take away all this discretion from the refs.
It really has. They need to make these guys (and gal) fulltime employees that spend the offseason perfecting their craft.
Not enough games to make them full-time. I think simplifying the rules will make it better.
Whatever the answer is, they need to do it soon, because the product has gotten worse and worse.
I just don’t understand it. Day in day out, I see you guys posting things about the team and it makes perfect sense. Why doesn’t anyone on the team see the same things you guys see and do something to fix it They are paid to figure this stuff out and can’t. I honestly think they’d be better off letting some of you guys call the plays. 😉
Well there is a fired sale going on in Davie so hopefully the new people brought in will get it. 🙂
Cause I see ego’s into play here. Coaches install a system in the offseason, and that’s all they practice rigidly, so it makes it very hard to change during the course outside of a few plays here or there.
yup. That’s why I said blame philbin for our pass heavy offense shotgun offense. Because its difficult to change schemes mid season.
I wonder if the officials who let the Pats lose last night have been suspended yet?
LOL, I bet Brady brings it to court. How dare them.
LOL, yet another example of a weird clock thing. It starts running after an injury time out? I was glad it screwed the Pets, but it was still weird.
if everyone here picked a GM and a HC
or a system, etc….
it still might fail
we are basically looking at decisions made and criticizing them
Some times it seems like the team is late to act
but they are in a much different position then we are in
We can say Lazor sucks for month (and mean it)
but the team has to weigh the pros and cons of firing him
None of us knew that Lazor sucked when he was hired, albeit I think there were a few criticisms – it wasn’t exactly obvious
the problem with this team was philbin since he got here.
Lazor’s gone. AMEN!
….and I don’t see it as something that should scare away future established coaches.
Sunday 9 rushes for 12 yards…..if no other coach understands that, then we don’t need to hire them!
What cracked me up about our whopping rushing total, was the fact we usually run outside the tackles, but for some reason THIS game Lazor decided to send most of our 9 runs right into the teeth of the Jest defense and go between tackles, SMH. So not only will you not run but when you do you’ll attack the strength of the opponent instead of doing what you usually do?!
Can we fire that asshole Lazor twice?! He deserves it.
LMAO!!!!
Right! LOL
I liked when we brought in Ajayi for a couple of series because Miller must have been exhausted after we got him so involved. 😉
Lets look @ KC.
They beat a tough Buffalo defense by putting up 30 points, which is also a lot of points normally for the Chiefs.
KC lost their workhorse Jamal Charles early in the season.
Yet they never stopped running the ball. They lost Chandrick West who was running well, and now on Sunday got another 100+ yards in back to back games from the 4th string Spencer Ware.
Good balanced attack, good play calling, IDENTITY sticking to running the ball no matter who is toting the rock!
Chiefs are now in WC contention.
Lazor was employing a very very flawed system!
unlike us they have a real coach.
He is the Walrus, goo goo g’joob
Tanny has been doing this for several years. He sucks for 3 quarters and then piles up a bunch of stats in one quarter….or maybe two if we’re lucky. Funny, how nobody blames his OL when he’s piling up all those stats, but they get blamed when he’s not.
***
I think Tannehill IS a big part of the problem with this team. Guys with a lot less experience on teams that are just as bad are playing better than he is. Wilson with 5 TDs? Stanford throws 5? Fricking Fitz throws 4? Tanny can barely manage one a game….and it’s usually too late. He almost never makes the plays to win games. Sure, he puts up numbers when they don’t matter and teams are playing prevent against us. Who cares? When was the last time we saw him win a game for us? Like, never? Brock osweiler is making plays after playing 2 fricking games!!! How long are we gonna make excuses for this pathetic excuse for a leader? He’s not a leader….get rid of him. He’s not gonna get better. Teams have figured him out, and his limitations are killing us.
****
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I hate losing!
That’s cause when teams have a big lead they go more prevent. So the OL sees minimal parr rush & no blitzes usually.
I thought you were a former OL, shocked you didn’t know this??? 😯
minimal ^^pass^^ rush
I presume Saunders takes the OC reigns and calls the plays now. Hope he let’s Tanny and the offense free to play to their strengths, a novel concept indeed ol chap.
no zac taylor is the OC LOL
OH NO!
I always questioned Philbin’s hiring of him as QB coach. He was fresh off the college sidelines as an intern for crying out loud, and he himself sucked as a college QB, couldn’t get drafted either!
nope- the qb coach will be in charge of calling plays
gdp
So, our OL looks good because defenses are playing prevent against us, but that doesn’t apply to Tannehill when he’s piling up yards and completions throwing 5 yard passes against prevent?
GD, Saunders is like a consultant, he probably doesn’t want the OC job at his age. It’s a chance for Zac Taylor to build on his resumé. It really doesn’t matter because I highly doubt any coaches will be back next year.
well, i stop bye and find out lazor is fired and the cheats lost. kind of really sucks on a monday after a dolphin game that is the best news i have read in a while.
GD, most coaches were not good players when they played. LOL
Watching the game yesterday at the game, I felt like there was no chance we were going to score yesterday. I know we got some garbage time TD’s late in the game, but I have no confidence in Tannehill to pick this team up. I’m not saying he has to carry the team, but if he could just make some plays to keep the team in the game, it would be great. He looked awful yesterday, the 1st INT, the 4 of us were sitting in that end zone about 30 rows up, we all saw that throw and INT coming, because as soon as he dropped back, he looked at Stills, and never stopped looking at Stills, making it very easy for CB Marcus Williams to make the pick. He also threw so many passes in places where his receiver was going to get blown up, (AND DID), and he has to know NOT to make those throws. He threw quite a few passes behind the receiver. I’m not saying Tannehill sucks, but he has a lot of improving to do, and I’m not sure it’s even possible this late in his career, unless we get the right coaching staff in here that can FIX him.
This is the same QB who was 18-19 283 yards and 4 TDs so yes the talent is there. I think the whole team is down mentally including RT and guys aren’t on the same page. After the pick, RT was looking at Stills as if it was a route issue. Stills cut outside when maybe he was suppose to sit down and that’s exactly where the CB picked it.
First thing I’d do is get him out of this shotgun happy offense as many of us have been saying. If that doesn’t help him then eventually you move on.

I just don’t understand it. Day in day out, I see you guys posting things about the team and it makes perfect sense. Why doesn’t anyone on the team see the same things you guys see and do something to fix it They are paid to figure this stuff out and can’t. I honestly think they’d be better off letting some of you guys call the plays
————————————
That’s funny….. The guys who made it to the professional level hqave forgot more than we will ever know. I played HS ball for 1 yr and got injured so the coach offered me a easy position to full fill my volunteerism requirments of film room attendant. Iequised picked the films that they requisted. Well many mornings I would find the coaches sleeping in towel laundry baskets sleeping with same clothes as previous day. They work long hours 80-100 hours a week and that was HS. It takes a special breed to take a job with very long hours and being away from family.
Randy, yes it does apply to Tanny also. See what a QB can do when he has time!!!
Give him that time early in the game dang it! 😀

no zac taylor is the OC LOL
Well that’s going to teach us all a lesson in wanting someone fired. I was going to post something last night, that Tannehill needed a good QB coach, that this Zac Taylor person wasn’t getting the job done but I decided I’d rather have a drink instead and this team wasn’t worth my time. So now they make him the OC???? Good grief….
think of it this way. its good move for our draft position LOL
Funny Lazor was a QB coach in Philly, then Kelly got rid of Foles for a china vase named Bradford.
At least from what I’ve read that Tanny & Zac get along/friends, so maybe Zac let’s Tanny start ripping the way he wants somewhat.
But don’t expect major changes this far into the season, it would be too hard on the others on Offense.
Agreed and LOL @ a china vase.

GD, most coaches were not good players when they played. LOL
Reply
Nothing new, this I know….but most have some experience before they come to the NFL my friend.
That’s fair enough. He did coach at A&M for 4 years before coming to Miami with Sherman.
What exactly are Tannehill’s strengths?
He can sew.
He’s durable and resilient. He has talent, but between the ears, there’s definitely a disconnect. Maybe we can find a coach that repair that, maybe not.
Pissing you and Son off.
Mobility, throws very well on the run even across his body, throws sharp zip line throws, can run well and is tough as nails and durable. I’ll wait for you to completely disagree with all of it. LOL

well, i stop bye and find out lazor is fired and the cheats lost. kind of really sucks on a monday after a dolphin game that is the best news i have read in a while.

lol, I said something similar last night. It’s pretty sad when the Pets losing a single game is the highlight of the season.
Tim
It was so much more than that INT. So many throws that simply shouldn’t have been made. Very poor decisions. All 3 of us, Brian, myself and my nephew Phil were just so down on Tannehill and his performance. Frankly, I couldn’t care less what he did when the game was out of reach, I almost wish they put in Matt Moore yesterday the way Tanny played.
So he was the only one who disappointed you? LOL
No, but if I had to pick one player, he’d be the one, followed very closely by Jamar Taylor, who I don’t expect anything from, so he goes 2nd.
Poor decisions on throws, yeah that you’re forced to throw cause the play calls you receive are nothing but crap formations, run just 9x a game and then expect it to confound the Defenses?
tannys is a game manager and nothing more. if the FO doesn’t see that then they are the problem
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/25393773/report-serious-rift-brewing-with-dolphins-over-ryan-tannehill
30 of 32 QB’s are game managers. Nothing to see here folks. 😉
“Lazor, meanwhile, has limited the audibles Tannehill can call at the line of scrimmage. The Miami quarterback can change the play at the line if he deems it necessary, but he can only change to choices already served up to him by Bill Lazor before the offense breaks the huddle.”
Sounds like Tanny fought the man, and at least the man didn’t win. The guy calling the plays now is is QB coach.
And hey……let Tanny do exactly what he wants the rest of the season. Might show us what he can and/or cannot do.
Mike, Taylor looks different to me this year than he did last year. He looks slower and less aggressive. He looked really bad on that pass early to Smith where he positioned himself to make the tackle and totally whiffed on the move. I was like WTF was that dude.
GDP
NO, no and no. Can’t say if it’s just because we were there, and seeing it LIVE, but he looks worse on the field, than he does on TV. When you can see everything, you see him ignore other players, and constantly force the ball to players he trusts. That’s a bad job. Also, some sacks he has time to get rid of the ball and throw it away, and he hangs on too long. He looked awful because he PLAYED awful, not because of Lazor.
Tim
I like the way Taylor tackles. Maybe he could work on playing S, or possibly gain 25 lbs and try LB. lol
MIke E — did they have the Metlife take over crew going yesterday?
I don’t think so Jon. We couldn’t see any large Dolphins presence anywhere.
Like Brian said, they could have been sitting above us this year, and therefore, we wouldn’t be able to see them, but Brian said the last time we all went, we were at opposite ends of the stadium, so . . .

Taylor: We’re going to run the football. Going to streamline the offense & simplify things. Need to score more points to help rest of team
It takes firing people to figure this out? Didn’t Campbell say the same thing?
Cambell said it
Lazer didn’t do it
Lazer FIRED!

Taylor: “I don’t have numbers in mind, I have balance in mind. We have to be balanced.”
Saying the right things so far….lol
Mike,
On your 1:19 post. Ok, fair enough…but watch other QB’s with the same critique system.
I see Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Ryan, & many others hold the ball too long and get sacked, albeit maybe a lil less than Tanny. Lots of factors go into this.
I also saw Brady throwing behind receivers last nite. One inaccurate pass got Gronk injured.
I’ve also seen them all thro stupid INT’s. It’s football, the other team is playing too.
But the Phins don’t adjust well, that’s mostly coaching…IMO.
mike,
i think tanny played one of his worst games ever yesterday. it happens at times. the problem is he hasnt improved any this year or i should say the offense hasnt improved any. i think the reason for that is gone now. the only thing we can hope is tanny’s under performing isnt permanent
QBs do have slumps too. People love to pounce when that happens. I see a lot of criticisms of the guy like he’s never played well before. It’s silly. The entire team has been a colossal disappointment this year and no he hasn’t had that go to the next level season. Okay, it happens.
kong,
yeah it is sad that at this time in the season we have to find happiness in a firing and a loss for some other team.

Taylor: We believe in this system & what we’ve been doing but need to find ways to be more effective. Not going to completely abandon system

All I’m saying is, and you know I’m far from a Tanny-hater, is that he really need work. I know the rest of the team isn’t playing well, I know Lazor’s play calling sucks, but I just saw a really bad game from our QB, and I wonder to myself if he could ever be the type of QB that can help us win a big game when other things aren’t going well. Sometimes the QB has to do that, and I’m not sure Tanny has that in him.

I don’t care if they are friends or not or if they get along. He’s a grown man, he can find his own friends.
Yes ma’am….or he can buy friends with that big contract. In fact, I’m for sale. 😉
The more things change, The more they stay the same. 😯

Taylor says he speaks to his father-in-law Mike Sherman weekly. Says he’s been a huge influence on him.
Rob
I hope so, but yesterday was such a disappointment. I was sure we were going to get shut out yesterday. Freaking Landry probably caught 10 of his 13 catches within 10 yards of the LOS, and probably 6 of them within 5. Ridiculous!
LOL @ Wyo!
He’s tough? Who cares? I’d rather have a QB who’s a pussy but can make plays. His toughness doesn’t do anything for the team. And, he takes hits because he isn’t good at making reads and getting the ball out and has horrible pocket awareness…horrible. He hangs in the pocket because he’s not good enough to avoid pressure and make plays. I also seriously doubt his football intelligence. I haven’t seen anything that would suggest he has football smarts. If he was…why is he not allowed to change plays on his own after 4 damn years? And, he is good on rollouts, but that will never be a big part of any NFL offense…so what else? What does he do consistently well that any coach can design an offense around? Even when the plays are there, he typically doesn’t make them, so he’s not a playmaker.
***
Oh right…it’s always somebody else’s fault.
toughness matters
I never heard you say any of this before. LOL
I care Randy. Doesn’t make him a great QB but I’ve always respected people I’ve played with for being that. Kid takes a hit and doesn’t even make a show out of it after. Might not be able to control your size or speed, but that one you can.
how about mark richt as oc. The guy has paid his dues
Wyo, good point. LOL
MikeE,
Easy answer: NO, he’s not! Lol
Randy
the last thing you want your QB to be is a pussy
Mike E — you got me to search. Looks like they were there 900 strong. Must have been above you like you said. Also guessing they weren’t making as much noise as last time around for obvious reasons.

Yep Tannehill has never played well before. It is a consistent thing in sports when a season isn’t going well fans bring out all the stops when criticizing coaches and players. Yep he hasn’t shown any progress yet his numbers have improved consistently even in a down season and a recent slump. Amazing for a guy who doesn’t do anything well. LOL
People are being a bit unrealistic
obviously he has strengths and weaknesses
and he’s had ups and downs
I think ultimately you have to look at what you are getting out of the position and whether you an do better
And he is our QB next year no matter what people think. Real Q is whether he has brought in enough uncertainty to draft someone to develop with an eye to a future beyond him. And that might be tagged to rebuild or not.
Chad Henne was essentially the same guy but with a prettier deep ball and he was crucified. Enough already, enough
And I liked Chad the person too. Tanny is at least a better QB though.
Not even close. RT’s numbers are on another level. Henne never had more TD than INT as a starter. That is a bad comparison. Frustration is clouding your mind.
Go ahead Randy

piggy,
Of course you want a QB who’s tough, but it really doesn’t impact the overall performance of the team, does it? How has his toughness elevated his game or the team’s performance? I expect EVERY player to be tough. Is he considered tough because he takes hits? If so, shouldn’t we evaluate WHY he takes those hits? I don’t want my QB taking hits. Shouldn’t he be working on his pocket presence so he doesn’t take so many hits? Toughness is fine, but it doesn’t matter much if it doesn’t lead to him making plays to win games.
of course toughness affects the QB’s play
You just can’t play the QB position or much football at all without toughness
Yes – he is considered tough b/c he takes hits and keeps coming back
his pocket presence is shit – and that is certainly a big problem, but that doesn’t make him less tough
if you are arguing that he is not tough – my response is an emphatic disagreement with you
if you are arguing that toughness doesn’t matter – my argument is the same
Nothing you said about his other weaknesses changes any of those things
