It has come to my attention that the Dolphins may not have a draft entirely compromised of linebackers.
In fact, maybe they use free agency to address linebacker.
Well, that thought hurts me deep in my pulsarspheres…but it’s a fact I have to accept.
So in my sadness I turned to an Earth Movie to wash away my troubles – Tombstone
A great movie about Wyatt Earp and his companions taking on the Cowboy known as –
Emmanuel Ogbah!

Wyatt Earp came to the town of Tombstone and became the lawman of Tombstone.
But little did Earp know that a Cowboy from Nigeria would also come to town.
Earp thought the best way to preserve law and order was a high octane passing game.
Ogbah had different ideas as to what was right for Tombstone.

The 6’4, 274 pound Cowboy tallied 10 sacks in 2014 and 12.5 in 2015.
He was pass rushing beast at Oklahoma State ruining Earp’s plan to rule the West with that ariel attack.
And when Ogbah gets to the quarterback, well he doesn’t exactly tickle the passer.
It helps that Ogbah is a fast big man. He ran a 4.63 in the 40 yard dash!

I’ve seen Ogbah compared to NFL pass rushers like Charles Johnson, Datone Jones and Vinnie Curry.
Some scouts think he might be a better run stopper than a pass rusher because he is not known for his explosiveness.
But I say to quarterbacks “Tell them Ogbah’s coming, and hell is coming with him!”

Im my version of Tombstone, the Cowboy buries all the lawmen.
Okay, I took a few liberties with this version of Tombstone. But I think you know where I am going with this.
If Ogbah was an Alien Weapon of Destruction. Well in this case its more of a memorial….

Check out his highlights here

Good stuff on the Rag Man 🙂
An NFL scout with “intimate knowledge of the Crimson Tide program” said Alabama LB Reggie Ragland is “a great kid, great leader, great person, great worker.”
“His speed is good enough,” the scout said. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that several scouts with whom they spoke believed Ragland wasn’t as good as D.J. Mosley, the guy he replaced (and who went in the first round to Baltimore in 2014). “Alabama runs probably the toughest defense in college football to understand, and he ran the show,” another scout said. “He had to bide his time to run the show. He did it only his senior year. He’s a pretty serious football player. Very tough, very athletic, could cover really well. Mosley is a little more versatile than Ragland but Ragland can take the pounding a little bit more.”

He (Trump) very publicly refused to disavow David Duke just a few days ago
I posted the clip when it happened
You can see it as clear as day
He later blamed the ear piece on his response
I don’t know if he disavowed Duke, white supremecy, or the KKK since then
If you have a link – post it
even if he did, that comes off as disingenuous based on what I saw on live TV
at the time he demonstrated real hesitance to disavow any of the people groups
mind you, I don’t think he is racist, I just think he is happy to get the racist vote and did not want to disenfranchise racist votes
LOL, ok then. BTW, Hillary is a racist, a Human Race/ist. Good luck with her and her illustrious record of lies & deceit. “What does it really matter”!
You should not take every negative statement about Trump as an endorsement of Hillary
Why don’t you back Rubio or Cruz or Kasich…I might disagree with their policies here and there
But there is no way I would be so passionate about my disdain for them
What bothers more is that Trump is winning the republican race
If another republican wins, we don’t get into this Hillary or Trump debacle we are left with
BTW you didn’t contest any of the facts in my post
I mean it was obvious that he tried to avoid disavowing those groups publicly on live TV
I don’t doubt that he may have disavowed them in the past
but as of the last few years Trump has been riding a racist wave of bombastic comments to get attention – starting with questioning the President’s nationality, that is when he first threw is hat in the political ring. We should have all seen this coming.
I don’t think there us such a thing as a human racists….if you hate all humans, you hate everyone, which id the definition of equality
She may be something else deregotory for her actions – but let’s not confuse the two things
I keep recommending to people here that they take some of the things Trump has done (or said) in the past more seriously
And I am personally concerned with a guy who tries to galvanize racists who may have a vote. I said it before, I don’t think he is a racist, but I think he is eager to exploit racism
GD,
Is there any reason why you stole my avi?
Where have you been?
He couldn’t find your wallet
Oh crap, I didn’t know it was your Brian. I changed to it after some heated debates here on whether we pay Miller or let him walk. I had GAse for awhile. My bad, I’ll change it.
actually, now seeing them close together they are a lil different…lol
Ragland comes off as a football smart LB
and that is a great quality
I do like LBs to be a little more aggressive and make bigger impacts though
That’s what Rag Man brings.
Miller is cutting left in one
and right in the other
They are probably both TDs…..lol
Both are probably during warm ups where he got most of his action.
I think those avis are actually pics of his only 2 carries in week 11
😦
LOL, Piggy, you’re right, it was his one of his 7 carries in week 11.
Hope Gase promises to run his wheels off.
Piggy, first of all, I’ve studied the other candidates you mentioned, as well as Bernie & Hillary quite a bit.
I really liked Rand Paul & Cruz before I did Trump. Paul got blackballed like his dad, and then I dug up evidence that Cruz was tied to the ‘establishment’ more than I thought, much like all the remaining candidates.
I’m for breaking that cycle, that vicious cycle.
Now on Duke, Trump disavowed him back in 2000 when Duke joined the Reform PArty that Trump was going to run for president in. Trump was quoted as saying he wanted no part of that kind of organization.
Now 15-16 years later, as the media say’s “former” KKK leader David Duke says he supports any candidate that takes on the corrupt rich running the country/banking system.
Yes Trump seemed a lil blind sided, had a stumble, but has since said I disavow the guy, I don’t know much about him, we don’t talk to each other.
I mean, any known name or group can say they support a candidate. Hell, even Louis Farrakhan says he prefers Trump, likes what he stands for on immigration and abolishing the TPP, NAFTA, & the FED.
So I guess that now makes Trump a Bi-Racist….SMH!
I don’t know
I think it was an easy question and he dodged it and regretted it later
GD,
I’m JBB. Keep it.
Piggy,
My Stepfather passed away about a month ago, and I’ve been really busy helping my mom out with paperwork and such, and just real busy catching up with everything at work and at home.
Thanks man, ya do know I’ll be back to a Tanny avie before long. 😉
I admire what you’re going through. Sadly it’s a matter of time before I have to do that as well. Hang in there and keep the faith.
Nice job in the article Piggy
on
DBolt,
I read your comments earlier regading your wife. I teach HS and MS, and a colleague and I were having a similar discussion today. Somewhere along the line, the schools lost all of the power and the teachers are at the mercy of the parents, and thier respective states. It’s absurd.
Pig posted highlights of Ogbah, in the article above. Do you guys really scout players, by looking at highlights?
Hard to find lowlight videos….LOL
But seriously, I think most of us, scout by watching games or game tapes/replays, as well as reading every available source on prospects as we can….then we begin to formulate our opinions from there….then you have the senior bowls, the Shrine Game, the combine, etc, to round out your thoughts.
I was referring to watching game tapes that show every play the player is in on. The only thing posted here seems to be highlights.
I don’t really “scout” players
I don’t see them live or anything
I would much rather watch a game than highlights
The highlights are really just to enjoy for entertainment
These scouting reports are generally pretty superficial
And just intended to get people excited about certain prospects
I don’t function like a scout
I really make these reports over the top and positive
When I can find game tapes i watch then
They are much better than highlights to get perspective on the player
But an alien talking about a prospect and comparing him to a weapon is just fun
So perspective goes out the window
Usually these reports talk about some of my favorite prospects
But i don’t Want them to be taken too seriously
What’s up FUers?
Trump and Hilary, and not the Dolphins, and Knicks.
Steve:
I would love to watch game tape of every play the player is in on. Unfortunately my employer has other plans for me. So I rely on the highlights and recognize it’s not a complete picture.
I am getting closer and closer to all in for Ragland in the first. We really need a thumper in that spot. Imagine if he is the next Ray Lewis but also a good person wow we’d be set in the middle for 10 yrs.
LMAO at the implications of “the next Ray Lewis but also a good person.”
The thing is
Although he has good qualities
I don’t see Ray Lewis elite kinda of MLB with Ragland
I see a solid pro
It a great one
Hey is anybody out there? Long time, no blog…at least for me!
I think a lot of us have been in the end of the season pre-start of the FA blues. I have been swamped at work and not on much myself.
Work has just been crazy this year. We merged 5 companies into one at the beginning of the year. It was supposed to be soooooooooo much more efficient, save us so much work. Yeah, right. It might be saving someone some work, but it sure as hell isn’t me.
I know the feeling. I had a huge trial the start of the year. Saved the company lots of money. But the only reward I get for it a pat on the back and more work…without a raise.
I need some sleep. I am out. Welcome back Herd. Peace to you all.

Pros: Trump not the establishment pawn
Cons: Hillary is & has been for a long time. In fact she should be a con behind bars right now.
Cons: Trump will likely not get the GOP nominee. I’ve said before that the establishment cabal is so friggin scared of him hitting then in the pocket book by breaking up their con games.
So as I mentioned the other day. We’ll see a brokered convention. They are already pulling Mitt Romney out of the moth balls to plug in as an internal 3rd party candidate type incase they can’t get anymore traction for their other establishment pawn Rubio.
They already lost pawn Jeb, and now they’re freakin.
So Piggy, you’ll likely get as you wish, no Trump. But the majority voice will be screwed and silenced once again.
Is that what you want for your country? Rigged ‘selections’???
Remember what I’m saying here. Thanks in advance.
I just can’t believe how many support him
In the democrats case
It’s either Hillary or Sanders and it’s almost like Hillary is due
The democrats already rejected her once
People,of all political inclinations don’t like her
But trump comes from nowhere
And some people love him bc he insults people as the core of his campaign
I’m not getting anti establishment from trump
I’m getting inexperienced
There’s a difference
I haven’t heard 1 NEW idea from him
Ron Paul was antiestablishment
trump isn’t anti establishment
I think you are projecting that on him
If I was projecting that antiestablishment label on Trump, then why are leaders from other countries screaming? Why are beltway insiders trying to discredit him so much? Why is his own party conspiring to rob him of delegates? Why is Mitt Romney now suddenly considering throwing his hat in? Why is the media hell bent on ripping him apart when he was such a media darling before he chose to run?
He’s exposing them all. The GIG IS UP!
Brian,
Saw your post in regards to teaching. Sad thing is, you can probably vouch for this, my wife’s school has been without a new contract for 4yrs now. The school board has a president who’ll go tell lies to the local papers about the tax hardship it would put on the locals & how unreasonable the teachers were at setting up negotiation dates. Between this past Sept-Dec they gave the board 72 days that they could hold negotiations….The president gave them 2 days and spun it in the paper that the teachers were refusing to set dates.
I ended up writing anonymous piece in the local paper that the people complaining about a minimal tax increase could always pay for private schooling for their kids at a minimum $10,000 per kid. Also said they could keep on bitching about their taxes going up $150-$200 and end up paying $500-$1500 in daycare if a strike were to occur for a 10 day period. It’s ridiculous how teachers are treated.
Also, how many other professions do you see your tax dollars go back to fund your own salaries?

Pros: Trump not the establishment pawn
______________________________________
LMAO at Trump not part of the establishment. Do you honestly think that? Trump a billionaire is not part of the establishment? He is aligned with the common man? Trump who spends his time shuttling between penthouses and mansions understands a working class family? Trump who has argued that we need to reduce wages in order to compete with China and India is not part of the establishment?
Trump may not be the establishment’s favorite son but make no mistake he is not a man of the people. Trump is all about the status quo. Don’t be fooled by what he says.
Ken
Unfortunately, the candidates that probably identify with the common man the most are out of it, and have no chance of winning (John Kasich) and (Bernie Sanders). I think what GDP is saying is that Trump is not a politician, therefore he isn’t saddled by lobbyist groups and special interest groups. Does that make him a good man though, I don’t think so. His behavior is embarrassing, and not worthy of a President IMO. On the other hand, I trust Hillary Clinton about as far as I could throw a nuclear bomb. She’s a deceitful, lying bitch, and there’s not a shot in hell I would/could ever vote for her. She doesn’t identify with any common person, she’s all wrapped up in her lying political web.
I am no fan of Hillary but in a choice between Hillary and Trump it’s not even close as to who I would vote for. I would also never vote for Sanders. I don’t see a Socialist as a champion of the common man either. Kasich would have been an interesting candidate. I generally vote democrat but not always. In a choice between Hillary and Kasich I would probably vote Kasich because I just trust him more than Hillary. Which shows how much I distrust Trump and how unqualified I think he is.
agreed. I actually like Sanders and caucused for him on Tuesday. But if its a choice between Hillary and trump its a no brainer who I vote for.
Curious why do you think Hillary is a liar? What has she lied about?

who cares if tr\ump is establishment or anti establishment. He’s a racist bigot that wants to round up all illegal immigrants and ship them out. He wants to ban all Muslims coming into this country and he wants to put surveillance on Muslim Americans only because of their religion.
White supremacists and KKK members are his core base. Why doesn’t he condemn Duke? I highly doubt Trump becomes our next president. But if he does that would be a very sad day for this country. That means we’re going backwards not forward.
OK I’m done with this topic. All I can say is I’m very happy to live in a democracy 🙂
I was just pointing out the flawed premise to GDP’s statement that Trump is somehow anti-establishment.
To tell you the truth I like Trump more than the GOP establishment candidates like Rubio. At least trump is not bought and paid for. He says what’s on his mind. He’s not a hand puppet robot like Rubio. And I doubt Trump would start random wars just so his buddies in the oil industry and military industrial complex can make a few more bucks.
Ken
It’s a sad situation. That’s all I can say. Trump’s behavior is that of a defiant child, not of a Presidential candidate. His inability to stifle the first ridiculous thing that comes to mind is unacceptable, and the things he says are truly embarrassing. I really don’t want Trump as President, but I distrust Hillary even more than Trump. If Mitt Romney runs (I actually like Romney), I’ll vote for him, although that will likely be a vote for Clinton.
you keep calling hillary a deceitful liar. Please tell us what has she lied about?
I would feel more comfortable with Romney as a candidate than any of the current crop of candidates from both parties. Kasich would probably get my vote out of the Republicans. I do not like Cruz and I think Rubio is something of an empty suit. Moderates like Kasich or Romney are very viable and reasonable candidates. My only real gripe with them is on insistence on doing away with Obamacare without putting forward a reasonable alternative. To me keeping Obamacare is issue #1 especially the elimination of the pre-existing condition clause because that is something that can have significant and dire consequences for me down the road if it is done away with.
Boulder
The Whitewater scandal, and then the Benghazi scandal after that. Then the e-mail scandal after that. She’s never guilty, but other people always end up dead. Dead men tell no tales , , , ,
I think it has been conclusively shown that there was no cover up in Benghazi. It has been investigated to death and they can find nothing indicating any lie or cover up. That said Hillary doesn’t exude the type of reliability or trust one would like to see in a candidate. But Benghazi is not an example of that.
Those are scandal because the likes of Rush limbaugh are calling them a scandal. As far as I’m concerned they looked into the Benghazi and had hearings after hearings and found nothing she did wrong. Nada zilch. Trust me the GOP wanted to find something and couldnt. The email is also not a scandal. Its made up. She used her own private server. So did Condoleezza Rice and Powell. They saw classified emails on their own private server just like Hillary. She never lied about it. BTW those emails were not classified at the time she got them. They became classified only after the FBI looked at them last year. And BTW Rice was CCed on many of those same emails.
I’m not a huge hillary fan because I feel like she’s too hawkish on foreign policy and she takes money from wall street and other special interest. But I don’t think she’s a liar or decietful. She’s been in the lime light for a long time and the GOP has been attacking her for over 25 years. Just because they’ve been calling her a liar doesn’t make it so.
Boulder, Hillary’s answer to being asked if she’s always told the truth.
“Scott Pelley asked Hillary Clinton about honesty.
After Clinton said she has “tried in every way I know how” to level with people, Pelley asked, “Have you always told the truth?”
She said, “I’ve always tried to, always. Always.”
Pelley pushed back, “Some people are gonna call that wiggle room that you just gave yourself.”
Clinton, slightly incredulously, responded, “I don’t believe I ever have! I don’t believe I ever have, I don’t believe I ever will.”
That is straight out of Bill Clinton book on how not to really answer a question and leave it open to interpretation.
I’ve always tried to. LOL
That is a good example of the lack of trust factor with Hillary.
A screwed business man is a politician of the private sector. Back alley deals, fucking the little man to help out a business interest, this shit happens daily in all sectors of business. Why would they change their spots and not do same things to get what they want passed in politics?
Ken
I really had high hopes for Rubio, but an empty suit isn’t too far from right. I expected more from him. Fact is, the GOP is busted.
He is young, good looking, minority appeal but the substance is lacking once you scratch the surface.
His ears are also absurdly large. LOL!
You pick up on it listening to him talk, its almost a strategically set up statement with hollow words. I dunno, i think he is the GOP’s best shot at winning, simply because he isnt going to run off the Hispanic and millennial vote, something that has lost the election for the GOP in the past. Im still not sure why people would vote for him though, because like you said fish past the words and there is little substance to his rhetoric.
There is no doubt to me Clinton has lied, just as there is no doubt Trump has lied, Rubio has lied, etc etc. The big deal is the things she lied about and the lie isnt the part of the thing that is so incredulous, its the topic she is lying about. The shit she has been a part of would have not only sunk most people political careers it would have landed a lot of them in jail. This is by far the election with the least options. Trump, Sanders, Clinton, etc arent just poor candidates, they are fucking awful one each of which blood red warning flags attached to them.
again I have no idea that “Shit” is that you’re talking about. And please don’t say the email server or benghazi.
She’s been attacked by the GOP for 25 years. Lets see how you hold up against such attacks.
Arian Foster is about to get the cut it seems.
Charles Grant already was this morning also
Tim,
Show me one person that’s always told the truth in their life? I mean did jesus always tell the truth? Or the pope? or anyone else? highly doubted.
This is a losing argument for all. I’m arguing with a bunch of white middle aged guys about politics which is the base for GOP 🙂
None of us are gonna change each others minds so lets talk about football.
We need March 9 to get here so we will be redirected to what really matters. LOL.
As D pointed out, it’s not just lies, it’s what she lied about. But yes, let’s move back to foosball.
She can’t even admit to having lied, that was the point. No the Clinton’s never lie. It depends on what the definition of is is. LOL
I’m also not making points for one side over the other, I just found it funny that you asked what did Hillary ever lie about?
Well what I meant was lie about something that disqualifies her to run for president. everyone has lied about something at some point in their life. But benghazi or email server to me those aren’t lies. Those are GOP mouth piece crap to throw at her because they have nothing else to throw. I mean if benghazi and the email is all the GOP has to attack hillary on then get ready for president hillary clinton.
Voting for a person because they are anti-establishment is no reason to vote for them. There are positives and negatives about career politicians, it really depends on their track record and at least with that, you have something to guage off of. You cant tell me you have any idea Trump will be a good president because of his business mind, which first off i severely question. He has no track record to goo off of, he flips to opposite ends of the spectrum on a dime (and thats never been a quality of a good president in the past) he makes outlandish statements that either he knows he cant deliver on and is lying or is possible the worst human being on earth for saying and believing that. Nothing about him says safest or best candidate. Its mind blowing to me anyone could even have him as their top guy, other than democrats because, well its going to be a cake walk beating him in general election.
Ok last political post for me including a reply, its a subject i know better than talking about.
ok that was fun 🙂 Back to baby duties.
I’m disenchanted with all presidential options. Write in candidate Booger Nuts gets my vote!
That would be great if millions of people wrote that in as their vote and the media had to keep mentioning it. LOL
Unfortunately I believe Hillary will win and that’s sad that someone like her will be elected by the people of this country. We never learn. The fact that we can only vote for Bush’s or Clinton’s with a horribly unqualified guy in between for 8 years is pretty fucking sad.
Okay I’m done with it.
If 2 QB’s go before #8, I think we may get a shot at either Jack or Ramsey
Would love to get Myles, but if he’s not there I won’t complain because I think we have 2 good options at WOLB.
I don’t think so, I think both go before us. 2 QBs, Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack and pick your next two players before us from Bosa, Stanley and Buckner.
Does anyone here think Jaylon Smith somehow gets taken in the 1st RD still? I can’t see it, I think the 2nd RD is kinda crazy too, unless they feel sure he’ll recover properly.
I wouldn’t take him until the 4th.
I’m with ya, maybe the 3rd, but I think any earlier than that would have to be a team with a luxury pick.
D-Bolt
If we took Ramsey, do you think he’d play S or CB here? I’d think S, but it could go either way.
CB & bring in George Iloka to play safety opposite of Jones….but Ramsey isn’t falling.
Again, IF Cincy is any model to look at it looks like they move to a more deep safety and true strong safety in the box/hybrid linebacker kind of guy. If this is true Iloka and/or drafting a guy like Killebrew makes more sense. Ramsey would be best as a safety in a two hybrid FS system similar to what we use to run. To enforce that idea that we might be moving away from that, Killebrew has a pretty significant meeting with us already pre-draft so might be a tip off they are moving that way.
I dont think even if 2 QB’s are taken before 8 that affects many scenarios. I think the key is, if Dallas takes a QB. If they do i think there is a small chance Jack or Ramsey slide to us, i think its more like Bosa slides to us in that scenario though because i think people realize the rarity and the shallowness of the safety and LB pool vs the DE pool and would opt for the talent value for taking Jack or Ramsey over Bosa.
Jaylon Smith is 2nd round if there is no nerve damage but possibly 4th ish if its confirmed nerve damage. Better believe any visit he gets with sites is going to have an INTENSE medical examination process.
It was already reported he has nerve damage in the knee and foot and that’s why he was determined out for 2016. Teams that examined him came away saying it’s bad.
Then he will go to a team with fewer needs that can afford to use a pick on him. Id say he is off our radar all the way around then.
I can’t see Smith being on our radar either.
D-Bolt
I really like Iloka, wanted to draft him. I’d be very happy with him and Reshad back there.
He would be a nice pick up. That is the kind of FA we should target. He is not an over the top price tag but one that can definitely have an immediate impact for us.
I have no idea what price he’s looking for, I don’t think he’s going to be cheap, but he’s not going to be outrageous either.
Ive been playing with a ton of scenarios and only ones that dont lead to us taking Hargreaves is ones where either Baltimore goes against what they generally do with safe picks (like Stanley, or Bosa) and takes Hargreaves instead OR someone jumps us them for Stanley forcing them to fallback to another pick, potentially Hargreaves, or finally someone really wanting Hargreaves and jumping us to get him. There is also the whole Cowboys take a QB and someone else falls but even that one has a high chance of us picking between Bosa and Hargreaves, which i would like to think also ends with us taking Hargreaves.
I think unless we just dont like him, we take Hargreaves at 8. Those other scenarios dont pan out. Im wondering though, and this doesnt happen many times when you have a new coach and lots of holes in your team, but an aggressive move would be to trade back, late in the 1st and take a LB, maybe someone like Brothers who. once Ragland is gone might find himself sliding into the first because a real LB needy team (GB for instance) might feel compelled to take him then. One of my biggest fears is a run on ILB’s early where we dont have any great prospects by our second pick.
WOW, lol….good morning blog. Was a nice chuckle catching up while reading thru delusional lane. 🙄
I really hope we steer clear of Ohio State LBs altogether.
Why’s that? Many of them have been real good in the past.
Go back and look at lee vs MSU & Perry vs ND. They’ll tun a mile before taking on a blocker to get to the ball carrier & when they take on a block they are typically stuck on a block.
I dont see Iloka being a expensive FA, maybe 5-6mil per. Usually your safeties unless they are just ballhawks dont get HUGE paydays. I think he is going to be pretty reasonable. He seems to have pretty decent coverage skills but he doesnt come away with many picks.
If you guys havent looked at that Killebrew kid i think you would like him. He is a really physical player.
I like him, but really like Sean Davis as you already know. Did I mention Trump? 😉 Too bad he can play FS, but he can free this country from the bondage that it’s being squeezed in.
Had a solid SR bowl week
Here is a highlight video for those of you too lazy to look him up yourself lol.
Dbolt, that’s the issue with a lot of the smaller / lighter LB’s in regards to getting latched onto by blockers. Although Perry is a big boy, so his problem is more his play speed & technique.
Here’s some projections on contracts for FAs.
http://www.spotrac.com/blog/calculating-the-market-value-for-potential-nfl-free-agents-or-extension-candidates/
Sean Davis i think is a good FS prospect. He is pretty physical, but i would see him as a stash guy to eventually replace Jones if we find ourselves having to because he shows hybrid skills of FS/SS. I think though they are about to shift our defense to using a SS more like they didnt in Cincy with Iloka, making a guy like Killebrew more desirable as a fit to the position. Id be happy if they drafted either though.
Again that hinges greatly on if whats going down is what im seeing, but i could be wrong and they may actually prefer a guy like Davis.
D
I have looked at Killebrew. I’d be cool with that. Hey, if we don’t upgrade at LB, at least we’l know we have 2 safeties that can tackle. lol
Killebrew plays like a man possessed, i really like the vibe i get when watching him play.
He’s good too. My only concern is the competition level he’s faced, but hey, a tackle is a tackle, as well as being able to read a QB, and anticipate throws.
Hopefully we do a lil of both. The defense as a whole needs upgrading everywhere sans maybe DT.
Tim, good post above about projected FA contracts. If Miller will accept 4yrs $20M, I’d be handing him the contract today!
Yeah it gives you an idea what guys will get paid. Just be fair to Miller and ensure him he will be a big part of the offense.
Well no way Gase would be dumb enough to repeat the same atrocities as the last play callers.
Mike, based on that link I posted above this is the contract projection for George Iloka.
Calculated: 4 years $22.5M ($5.6M AAV)
Likely: Franchise tag, then 4 years $24M ($6M AAV)
I’d pay Millertime first, then if enough was left at the end of other needed FA deals I might sign Iloka. But we can get another safety in the draft, plus remember 2nd to 3rd year players sometimes make a jump. We have Aikens, M. Thomas, Shamiel.
Plus I keep thinking about a move to safety for Jamar Taylor unless he starts camp very well as a corner.
I don’t necessarily think we need to make a major upgrade at safety because I believe young players do improve. I also agree you can find them in the draft. Thomas is a UFA though.
I’m interested to see how we go about the offseason. Part of it that’s exciting is not knowing then seeing moves that weren’t really discussed. It’s rarely what everyone thinks or wants it to be. LOL
Right, none of us truly know cause we are not privy to what plans are being formulated in Davie.
Thanks Tim
I’m fine with drafting a mid to late RD safety too. I really do like Iloka, and I remember wanting to draft him, and he actually turned into a pretty good player. Like D said, he’s pretty solid in coverage, but definitely not a ballhawk.
GDP,
In regards to what your saying smaller LBs struggle to get off blocks I agree. My issues with the OSU LBs is they are being hyped up because of their athleticism vs their LB ability on field. Don’t seem aware of what’s coming at them when they play good teams. To top it off they have excellent players in front of them on the DL. Do these guys have good film study habits or has Meyer’s staff failed them in the awareness dept? I see excellent athletes vs excellent football players. This is just my opinion though.
I too have worried about some of the top tier OH St prospects due to the amount of talent around them everywhere on the field. That’s something that a scout has to be very keen of with huge school programs that recruit so well, when it comes to trying to evaluate a single player from such a great squad altogether.
Yep. Like Myles Jack, you see the traits you want. Block shedding, locating the ball quickly. Ragland, Brothers, Wright, Matlock all show elite instincts that you know translates.

****************
And he’s aggressive
He’s so quick to the point of attack
I don’t know about Matlock
You guys know I like Wright too
but Wright is definately not in the same caliber as Jack
I keep saying this about Ragland, he is a good LB and a solid player
but for whatever reason – He does not appear to make game changing plays
I don’t think he should be a 1st rounder
in the 2nd I would be all over him
buy I don’t see a real drop off between Ragland and Brothers
in Brothers case I have a little concern about his speed/quickness
but I do like a lot of his qualities
I don’t know who Matlock is…..lol
Temple…too lazy to spell his name😂
The whole OSU defense was good Lot of talent there
but both Darren Lee and Eli Apple jump out as very good players
I don’t think its just hype with those 2
If Bosa was a mid 1st round guy, I would understand – but I don’t know about 1st overall pick…
Piggy,
I just don’t see Lee as a first round player. If you can go back and watch his game vs MSU from this year.

Yeah it gives you an idea what guys will get paid. Just be fair to Miller and ensure him he will be a big part of the offense.
************
Fair to Miller?
How bout fair to us!!!
We were begging for more Miller touches all season…..lol
I can’t imagine a new coaching staff being so stupid as the old one in how they treat Miller
What assurances does Miller need other than “those guys were idiots”….lol
That’s what I said…lol
HC interview:
Ross: So Mr. Gase, how do you plan to run the offense?
Gase: Meh, I plan on doing it the same way as before. The players are used to it.
Piggy, I believe Matlock is a nickname for Matakevich.
That’s good bc I would be furious if we drafted this guy
You need to start dressing like that for court. Especially when you know there will be a lot of elderly in the courtroom.
^^^
about to force a fumble on a huge hit!
More current photo of Matlock
Piggy, Miller has earned his payday. He’s worked his ass off and gotten better every season. He had no control over the dumb way he was used.
I know
I agree with you
I’m just saying he’s not the only one demanding more carries
Pretty much everyone other than the old coaching stuff wanted him to have more touches!!
lol
Panthers released LE Charles Johnson.
The move saves $11 million, but leaves $4.02 million in dead money. Johnson had just one sack and missed seven games to injury last year. With Josh Norman’s looming extension, the Panthers couldn’t afford to keep him. Carolina will move forward with Kony Ealy as their top pass rusher. 29-year-old Johnson joins Mario Williams at the top of the defensive end market.
Since they’re keeping Norman, then look for the Panthers to draft DE Ogbah, Dodd, Bullard, or whoever of that group is sitting there for them at the back of the 1st round.
@alexmarvez: LB Koa Misi & @MiamiDolphins nearing agreement on restructured contract. My @NFLonFOX exclusive https://t.co/k1QQxINWAw
Good. Kudos to the Misi camp for being reasonable. Wake, Suh, Grimes, Y’all next. 😉
I don’t think Suh has any choice about restructuring, it’s written in his contract already. He gets his money just in a different way.
Well thats one way to keep him, im betting the average comes down to something in the 3-3.5 range, kinda as i was suggesting they do yesterday. I would bet there are some good incentives packaged into it.
Here you go haters. LOL
http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/miami-dolphins-koa-misi-restructured-contract-agreement-030316
Dbolt beat ya to it, and i dont think anyone was being a hater yesterday, me and Mike were both calling for this exact action.
I admit to being a hater. It doesn’t make me wrong.
Joking dude!
Yeah we keep Misi. Shoot me now.
Think of it this way Ken, he is probably going to become a backup so he’s more of a fill in guy not someone we count on every game.

———————————–
I doubt it, i think they look to get a WR or OL, they are hurting for offensive playmakers and better protection. They have Ealy to fill a starting position at DE.
Could be, but Benjamine will be back, they did ok @ OL last year. Koni Ealy doesn’t exactly excite that much. But, who knows what their GM is thinking.
It’s rumored they’re signing Coples too. Not that he’s lock, but they are also high on Ealy who’s cheaper and had a monster game in the SB.
Ealy is a young ascending player, from Mizzou no less.

@DraftCampbell: Mackensie Alexander had formal interviews with Redskins, Ravens, Bengals, Browns, Cowboys, Eagles, Jaguars, Cardinals, Bucs & Dolphins.
….and Bears, Panthers, Broncos, Steelers, Patriots, Chargers, Giants…..
Will be interesting to see many of the guys we all liked last year & the year before start to breakout.
Like Parker, Phillips and Douglas? 😉
Ravens released ILB Daryl Smith.
A starter the past three years, Smith’s 2015 play was in decline and is entering his age-34 season. It’s a cap move from the Ravens, though releasing Smith only saves $2.6 million.
@DrewBoylhart: Agent says #USC LB/S Su’a Cravens met with 22 teams at the #NFL Combine. #Cowboys, #Dolphins & #Steelers were teams specifically mentioned
He would be a SS for us if what im picking up is right.
He’s your wide 9 guy on the back end 🙂
Texans cut Foster, that could hurt us some in trying to resign Miller. They have a shitload of money to spend. 😦
I’m not surprised by that. He’s hurt all the time.
It’s no secret we’re looking at DEs, LBs and CBs.
Shhh
LOL, because of all the reports about who we’ve met with.
So Alex Mack now out there as a FA, it will draw big money to him, thus hopefully freeing up at a more reasonable price a OG like Boone, Brooks, etc for us.
Boone will be reasonable, but Brooks is the number 1 OG on the market & will command big bucks.
Osmele is the number 1 OG on the market, though i think he is looking to be a OT since Balt used him there and the money is better.
I think Brooks is going to be 6-7mil per
D,
I eliminate him because word was the restructure of Flacco gave them the money he was seeking.
Ravens let Eugene Moore go, so all indications are they see Osmele as their LT.
Or they plan on drafting one. If they wanted Osmele for their LT they would have franchise tagged him
You dont let your projected future LT hit FA.
If Boone had been a FA last year i think he would have gotten 6mil but i think now he’s maybe 5.
That link I posted had Boone at 3 years $9M.
Damn if so his value has dipped WAY low.

Was having a convo with a guy this morning about that and said same thing. Still not sure why they didnt franchise tag him.
I think they wanted the restructure before making any further moves.
D
WTG on the Misi restructure!
He’s doing the restructuring? LOL
Yes, did you read the freaking article? It says D is handling the whole thing! lol
The Republicans are spending $50M on ads bashing Trump. Nothing like fucking your own chance at beating Hillary and proving once again that politics is all about elections. Nice waste of money there. I’m sure you could feed some people with that. SMH
They just confirmed that I will not support either of the two major parties once again. I hate them. They make me sick. They’re all phonies.
Oh lord, that is pitiful
This should be the Republicans new mascot, not the elephant.

The establishment cabal lost their puppets Jeb & Rubio, so they’re in panic mode and many have actually said they rather vote Hillary, guys like Mitch McConnell etc.
Trump has pulled their pants down and now they want revenge instead of getting behind him.
They know he’s going to break up their money & power game.
BTW, that same GOP cabal that Trump is fracking, is the same as Hillary, they act like they aren’t, but this is now a clear indicator of it.
Look for a brokered convention. They are pulling out all stops. Now Romney is on the verge of announcing his run…WTF??? He’s the same as Hillary & Obama! Nuff said!
I thought about that too. The two parties like the way they always play the game. They don’t like outsiders. That’s why the best people don’t get into politics.

You and me both…lol
LOL
Tim, you’re right. This has been going on a long time. As you’ve heard before, the Bilderberg types meet in advance of election years, and “Select” the pawns they want to install on both sides of the “so called aisle”. Therefore they don’t care what party wins, cause they know it’s their guy. They’ve hedge the field for themselves.
It’s why Obama was no better than Bush etc etc.
Same goes on in the house & senate players.
Tim
The guy with the horse reminds me a little of David Wright
The guys they are looking at is pretty interesting. Cravens is that SS/LB hybrid, I have heard they like Deion Jones, similar type player, Killebrew.
Swarming attack defense.
Well Misi didn’t get an extension because he still has 2yrs left on his deal.
I think what Cole was saying was that its not an extension its a restructure.
Yeah, they let some air out of his overly inflated balloon.
Right, but earlier some reporters thought it might be an extension to get the cap relief.
@uSTADIUM: #Jaguars are releasing OL Zane Beadles (@Rand_Getlin).
That could be a nice pickup for us
I’ll pass.
Texans released S Rahim Moore.
Signed to a “three-year, $12 million” deal last March, Moore’s Texans career ended up lasting all of seven games. He was benched for Andre Hal after performing as one of the league’s worst defensive backs. Moore is still only 26, but he’s going to be limited to one-year, incentive-laden offers after a disastrous 2015.
Chargers released ILB Donald Butler.
The move creates $9.410 million in cap space, but leaves behind a whopping $18.69 million in dead money. Those numbers fall to $4.65 million and $4.63 million, respectively, if Butler is designated as a post-June 1 cut. Butler is just two years removed from inking a “seven-year, $51.8 million” extension — which in reality was a three-year, $19.8 million pact — but was reduced to backup duties down the stretch last year. He’s declined steadily. Butler turns 28 in October.
GDP
You don’t think Beadles is significantly better than what we have?
Plus, he’s started every game for the last 5 years, and in his rookie season, he had 14 starts, but played in 16.
Not really, his play was really going down. What does that say about our OG’s? lol
Douglas will be better in his 2nd year. Turner should be better too in his 2nd ‘full’ year at the position.
GN- do u think Trump can self finance his own election during the general primary? He’s only spent 28 million so far while the last general election for the rep candidate raised 1.1 Billion. Bush’s “right to rise” pac raised 154 million in 1 month. You might find it interesting who’s who on the “right to rise” contributors. AIG and oil big wigs.
JS, it’s no surprise AIg & big oil etc are behind the super-pac’s. What’s your point?
I think Beadles might become an option as he does have a history with Gase. With that said I didn’t pay attention to him at all this past year so I don’t know how goo or bad he was. I do know 1 thing….he wasn’t graded as the worst starting OG in the league, that distinction is held by Grimace!
GDP
You’re a contradiction man. You complain that Tanny has no protection, yet you want to stay pat with what we have? I don’t get it
No No No, I didn’t say let’s stay pat with what we have. I just merely said that Beadles doesn’t really excite over the 2 youngins we have that I mentioned.
C’mon, you’ve seen me say over & over that we need to have a contingency plan for Albert & @ OG too. Both thru FA and/or draft.
Oh, OK. You scared me. lol
Unfortunately I scare a lot of people. 😦

They are doing that because they know Trump has no chance of beating Hillary in a general election. They are desperate because they see what should be a winnable election and they are pissing away their chance at winning by nominating an unelectable candidate.
Ken, C’mon, seriously…tisk tisk tisk
Okay they are spending $50 mil for shits and giggles then.
Ken, if they know Trump has no chance, putting another candidate against him guarantees the Democrats win, no?
I am not following you. They don’t want Trumpa as the candidate. They want to put a different candidate as the opposition to Hillary. I am not talking about an independent candidate, Trump and Hillary. A 3 way race makes it very easy for Hillary. A two way race vs. Trump is still a major advantage for Hillary. A moderate Republican vs. Hillary is the Republican party’s best chance vs. Hillary.
They had all this time to get a real good candidate and couldn’t do it.
I’m not sure about him not being able to beat Hillary. It’s been reported he’s winning support from some Dem voters that would not have gone to a typical Rep.
Mike E, that image is Ben Stiller as Simple Jack from the movie Tropic Thunder. LOL

Zane Beadles would be a very nice pick up for us.

I’m just curious if you think he is going to finance the primary election if he happens to be the elected candidate. It’s refreshing to have you as a passionate citizen concerning the direction of the country, you believe we should be taking.
Thanks, yes I am. But as far as a general election, I’m not sure Trump will still finance himself or not. I know you get matching funds from the fed gov. Guess we’ll see.
He said he he will finance his own general election.

True that. Republicans will have no one to blame but their own party for what will be their undoing come November.
…and the Dems got it together so well? 😉
I am no fan of Hillary but looking at the national polling it would indicate that they are nominating an electable candidate. I do think the Democrats could have done much better in grooming a next generation Presidential candidate. Their choices came down to a 74 year old socialist and an aging Hillary Clinton who has her share of warts. There was a real lack of a dynamic younger option. When Bernie Sanders is getting the youth vote something is wrong.
Ken
Ok, you’re saying something different. Not wanting Trump isn’t the same as saying they don’t think he can win. I actually think Trump has a decent chance to win (As scary as that may be), but if they put another candidate in, they will split the Republican vote (not necessarily 50/50), but that will ensure a Democratic win.
No I am saying Trump has a piss poor of winning in a general election vs. Hillary and the Party establishment knows it. All the national polling data shows that as well. Still a long way to go but Trump does not poll well in a national election. He polls well to white middle class males which is the core constituency of the Republican party. It’s not the electorate he needs to win in a general election
I’m no political expert, but if they put up another candidate, that practically guarantees that the GOP loses. Like I said, they will end up dividing whatever vote Trump would have gotten.
Mike:
I don’t get what you are saying about putting up another candidate. They can’t if Trump is their nominee. The problem they have is that if Trump is the nominee they are stuck with him as the candidate and according to most polling data he is not going to beat Hillary in a general election.
Ken what about Webb or O’malley, those were younger Dem candidates. Webb & O’Malley were against TPP like Trump, so they were easy to dispose of, since they don’t have Trump money or recognition with the public.
Those guys were not really serious contenders and no one is really getting excited about them.
Restructure/extension can be the same thing, one just comes with extra years attached, both accomplish the same thing.
Sometimes it makes it more attractive for a player to have assurance he has a job for more years getting the “restructure” as an extension, so its a way to get the deal done and sometimes its a better way to get them to spread the money out better. I wonder if it was a restructure with contact cut or if it was just moving the money around and nothing changed but that.
Ken, Trump is appealing to an ever growing demographic. Not sure where you’re getting your info from?
A combination of polls between CNN, Quinnipiack and 538.com. Trump’s demograhics have grown in the Republican but not against independent and unaffiliated voters.
Ken, young people have been indoctrinated into believing in socialism for years, that’s why Sanders resonates with them.
