The Wedge Scouting Report: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE

It has come to my attention that the Dolphins may not have a draft entirely compromised of linebackers.

In fact, maybe they use free agency to address linebacker.

Well, that thought hurts me deep in my pulsarspheres…but it’s a fact I have to accept.

So in my sadness I turned to an Earth Movie to wash away my troubles – Tombstone

A great movie about Wyatt Earp and his companions taking on the Cowboy known as –

Emmanuel Ogbah!

Ogbah4

Wyatt Earp came to the town of Tombstone and became the lawman of Tombstone.

But little did Earp know that a Cowboy from Nigeria would also come to town.

Earp thought the best way to preserve law and order was a high octane passing game.

Ogbah had different ideas as to what was right for Tombstone.

Ogbah3

The 6’4, 274 pound Cowboy tallied 10 sacks in 2014 and 12.5 in 2015.

He was pass rushing beast at Oklahoma State ruining Earp’s plan to rule the West with that ariel attack.

And when Ogbah gets to the quarterback, well he doesn’t exactly tickle the passer.

It helps that Ogbah is a fast big man.  He ran a 4.63 in the 40 yard dash!

Ogbah6

I’ve seen Ogbah compared to NFL pass rushers like Charles Johnson, Datone Jones and Vinnie Curry.

Some scouts think he might be a better run stopper than a pass rusher because he is not known for his explosiveness.

But I say to quarterbacks “Tell them Ogbah’s coming, and hell is coming with him!”

Ogbah5

Im my version of Tombstone, the Cowboy buries all the lawmen.

Okay, I took a few liberties with this version of Tombstone.  But I think you know where I am going with this.

If Ogbah was an Alien Weapon of Destruction.  Well in this case its more of a memorial….

Looking at Trumps number’s i think they are approaching this the wrong way. Trump as polarizing as he is loses if the other candidates drop out. So if they can first convince Kasich and Carson to drop out, i think you see most if not all of those voters move over to endorsing Rubio and/or Cruz, thats about 15-18% of the voters i think, if im accurate to last polling numbers, if all shift to one of the other Rubio or Cruz you are looking at someone who catches Trump in percentage and then getting the other to bow out pushes the other guy over the top. The first two, a vice presidency consideration might well do that, for the other two, im not sure.

  2. Mike E. says:

    Ken

There’s been talk of Mitt Romney running on the Independent ticket to knock off Trump

    • getterdone says:

Not as independent, he’ll be a late add to the GOP. He’s their last resort to try & keep Trump from running away with it as he’s been doing….lol

    • Tim Knight says:

LOL, yeah he’ll win as an independent this time. What a doofus!

    • Ken says:

That’s a different scenario. I am talking about the Republicans wanting to get another candidate nominated other than Trump. In either scenario an independent candidate or a Trump nominee the Republicans likely lose the general election. Their best bet is a moderate Republican as the nominee in a two man race with Hillary. A moderate Republican can probably get a number of independent and even some democrats who don’t like Hillary to vote their way. Winning a primary is about pandering to the extreme elements of the party but winning a national election is about winning the moderates.

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

      LOL.

    • jetsssuck says:

Bush might get back into it if Trump wins the primary. Listen to his withdrawal speech speech and he said “suspending” his campaign and he hasn’t provided a endorsement to anyone yet. Everyone thought he would give it to Rubio but he has withheld his endorsement.

Ken, young people have been indoctrinated into believing in socialism for years, that’s why Sanders resonates with them.
    Reply

I saw a video interview of several Sanders voters, & they said they’d go Trump rather than stay with the Dems on Hillary. They want reform too, just they were following the wrong guy. So this is a good thing, waking up the yutes!

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

Trump the socialist? LOL So the socialist sanders voters are gonna vote for Trump the billionaire capitalist that sanders has been fighting against his whole life? Where they waving southern confederate flags as they said it?

And BTW no president can do any of the drivel Trump has been spewing like rounding up the mexicans or banning all muslims. He’s not the king. There is still congress he has to deal with. But his white supremacist base likes to hear it so he says it.

  4. Tim Knight says:

I have to say, I do enjoy that our political system continues to show us what they’re all about. Maybe someday we’ll wake up.

  5. D says:

He resonates also with young people because they in no way understand what socialism is truthfully. Thos same kids i bet would tell you the government controls too much. They probably are very much the same people that believes the conspiracy theories, etc. yet they are behind a guy who is promoting even more governmental control. Its like they dont get it at all. If the government control medicine, if they control education, if they control business and the economy, then they can fuck you up on a WHOLE other level than you think they can now.

    • getterdone says:

      Exactly…they need a real schooling….lol

    • Tim Knight says:

They get fed anti-wealth, big business and capitalism and if we can all share more we’ll all live better.

      • BoulderPhinfan says:

we do. Look at the list of top 10 happiest people on earth. most of the list is from European socialist countries. Like Denmark, Sweden etc….

  6. D says:

LOl Omar is now saying we are 20 players off from a playoff contending team….

  7. BoulderPhinfan says:

I hope re-signing misi doesn’t mean he’s gonna be the starter. I like Misi but I just think we must do better.

    • Tim Knight says:

Restructuring Misi doesn’t mean we feel we’re okay with the LBs, just that he’s one of the best ones we have so why move on from him and get even thinner.

I read that his contract wasn’t extended either, so they either paid him in bonuses or he took a cut.

  8. getterdone says:

Boulder, you mean like King Obama who has to deal with the congress that he & Bush turned into potted plants? 😉

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

I don’t get your point. As I said you can’t get much done domestically as president because you have to deal with the congress.

  9. Ken says:

Omar is 2 nuts short of being a man.

  10. Tim Knight says:

I love when Omar comes up with obscure numbers like we need 20 players to be a playoff team. It’s really more like half that and not all starters. Actually 3-4 new significant players could help us get there.

  11. Ken says:

I think what the Republican Party is hoping for right now is that they can do enough to stop Trump from getting the necessary 1238 delegates he will need for the nomination and thus have a brokered convention where just about anything can happen. Based on current projections it is going to be real close but 538.com has Trump getting just enough delegates to avoid a brokered convention.

  12. Tim Knight says:

Boulder, this is also an example of a political party not caring about the will of the people instead wanting to keep their party the way it is corruption and all. I hope more people see it for what it is.

    • The Flying Pig says:

I think they just want to win and they don’t think Trump will turn the swing voters

a polarizing figure like Trump is probably more likely to turn independent voters off

independent voters are many times less passionate about political idealology than other voters
Its one thing to rev up the republic base by talking about building a wall
its another to turn swing voters by that talk – bc their response is kind of like…..”why?” instead of “its about time”

people who don’t come to the discussion with strong feelings on the subject are harder to persuade with Trumps strategy

      its a different psychology

I think the republicans have to listen to their base
but there is a difference between being popular in the primaries to be popular in the race

at some level, in every election, people are going to say – can this guy actually win
That is not unique to trump

you have to have crossover appeal
with Trumps dialogue and the attention he brought himself – does he have that?

  13. Ken says:

While I don’t think we will be a playoff team next year but the 20 players short is idiocy. No team in the NFL is 20 players short from being a playoff team. The line between a winning team and a losing team is a lot thinner today than it ever was.

    • Tim Knight says:

How would you know that we won’t make the playoffs until we see our roster? But I agree with the rest of your point.

      • Ken says:

I do think we have a few too many holes for 1 off season. Just my feeling. Holes at LB, DE, OL, CB and S to fill. It’s not 20 players but it’s a lot for one off season. I think you try to put that many new parts together and it takes time to gel. But rapid turn arounds have happened before so it is possible but I think unlikely we make the playoffs. It does not help that we play in a competitive division.

Ken, I’ve been saying this ad nauseam for awhile now. Yes, that’s their sinister plan to stop Trump, rather than back a fellow GOP candidate who’s party surge is the biggest since the 60’s, it’s been historic.
But they can’t buy him, so they will try to destroy him. Even if it means Hillary being pres, cause she is also from the same controlled cabal.

    • Ken says:

LOL at your characterization of it as a sinister plot. To the contrary it may be rational and well intentioned.

  16. Tim Knight says:

Boulder, those Scandinavian countries are not a melting pot like the U.S., they’re a majority of people from the same culture for hundreds of years. Look at the women there, no wonder everyone is happy. LOL

  17. finfanrob says:

omar just showed his ignorance. if he had any knowledge he would know they are not 20 players away they are just 1 new owner away

  18. D says:

Truth is with our team what we need is anchors at several levels of our offense and defense. We have a anchor at DT. We need one at DE now. We will need one at CB, we have one at Safety, and we need one at LB, i like Jenkins but he’s a contributor not an anchor. So to me we have 3 major needs for players on the defense. We need to have one side of our OL that is stable, and we are one player from having that on either side. We need also need to have an anchor in the running game so we either need to re-sign Miller or get one player there.

To me we really are about 5 players from a truly honest shot at being playoff caliber. We can easily address these in FA and draft so i believe this to be a 1 year doable thing. We doo need to address depth as well, and we can get some of that accomplished in FA and draft, but we may be a little thin in general in the area of depth, but im also not overly concerned if we cant have confidence in a couple of players 2 and 3 deep on the depth chart.

  19. Tim Knight says:

Deflategate is back in the courts and Brady could get suspended. Hearing about it on the radio now.

  20. D says:

Boulder i think restructuring Misi without extending him means we actually dont think he is a starter. I think they are moving towards looking at him as a rotational player possibly a situation guy and not a starter. I think they are getting his money down to reflect that with this restructure.

    • D says:

Didnt doubt the report i just think its going to be hard with a previous court ruling to over turn unless they have new evidence that might would have made that ruling invalid.

  23. Tim Knight says:

Piggy, I said “Look at the women there, no wonder everyone is happy. LOL”

  24. The Flying Pig says:

    Its the appeal
    its not a new case

they don’t consider new evidence (evidence is not looked at on appeal)
What they consider is whether the district court did not follow the prevailing law in its decision

I think there is a good chance, the decision is reversed and Brady is suspended for the first 4 games of next year

  25. getterdone says:

Trump just released his HealthCare Plan direction he likes if he can repeal Obamacare.

Repeal the McCarran-Ferguson Act, and allow the sale of insurance across state lines. “By allowing full competition in this market, insurance costs will go down and consumer satisfaction will go up,” he says.

Allow tax payers to fully deduct health insurance premium payments in their tax returns, as businesses can. The plan asks: “Businesses are allowed to take these deductions so why wouldn’t Congress allow individuals the same exemptions?”

Allow all individuals to use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and make those contributions tax-free and allow them to accumulate year after year. Make them part of an individual’s estate, able to be passed on to heirs without fear of any death penalty.

Require price transparency from all healthcare providers, including clinics and hospitals.

Remove barriers to entry into free markets for drug providers that offer safe, generic options. “Congress will need the courage to step away from the special interests and do what is right for America.

It’s all about Goodall’s absolute power to determine right or wrong. NFL owners think the CBA gives them absolute power right or wrong and they think NO federal Government can change that.

Now seeing it reported that Texans are now in play as competition for Miller. The definitely can promise everything he is looking for. Foster got tons of touches when he was available.

      Please stay Millertime!

      • D says:

I just dont see it unless he just loves this team. If he does whats best for him, he likely plays elsewhere. He will be making a sacrifice to stay because there definitely will be suitors offering him plenty of playing time, touches and at the same time more money than we will be able to.

  33. D says:

Just having teams like the Pats and Texans, and a couple others i have heard are interested, means there are going to be some decent numbers on the board. no way he stays under at or under 5mil per that i have seen a lot of us saying is about what we are hoping for. I think he will be looking at 6-7mil. He has more upside to any of the RB’s in free agency this year. Better hope for a big name RB to get cut in order to add some competition for other teams to consider.

    • getterdone says:

I get the money thing, but what did you mean above about Miller getting more touches & playing time with other teams?
We have a whole new regime now. One that’s showed it’s penchant for running the ball, being balanced, & getting the RB’s involved in the passing game as well.

    *******************

I think jetsuck hit closer to it than you

Appeals are not a means to re-try a case
There are a place to look and see if there is reversible error on the court’s decision

their is a history involving what the court’s limitation are and are not in changing a decision made under a CBA

That history is one of the reasons I thought Brady would lose
they usually don’t disturb those decisions

    But this judge did

They are reviewing whether the lower judge erred in doing that

the trial (it was a hearing in front of an arbitrator) did not happen in federal court
it wasn’t even the lower court

jetssuck said NFL/Goodell think the Fed Govt cant undue their decisions
    That is correct
but the idea is – generally speaking the Fed Gov has been interpreted to have little power to change decisions made pursuant to a CBA

    and this one did

so they are arguing whether he had a basis or not

this case ends at this level no matter the result

unless the Supreme Court heard it – which will never happen
there is no place left to got after this court rules on it – other than the US Supreme Court – and the idea of them hearing it is laughable

    They might talk about evidence
but its not the same thing as hearing new or old evidence

GD, i wasnt saying getting more touches, im saying they can make the same promises in that department, so all things being equal, money will be hard to turn down unless you just want to stay and are willing to give up something for you to be part of something you feel attached to.

    • D says:

Went back and looked at my wording and i didnt say more i said those teams will offer plenty of playing time and touches. I think he will get that same shot here with Gase, therefore its going to come down to the offer.

      • getterdone says:

No prob, I get ya. I just hate to see him go after he was our hometown dart pick…ugh!

      • D says:

Dont really think anyone wants him to go, its a problem with economics. Hell we may all be wrong and we can afford him even at 7mil per, and maybe im wrong thinking another team actually offers more than us, but i know the position we are in and i know the quality of him as a back and i just see him being worth more than we can spend. We will know in a few days because he will be one of the first free agents off the board i think.

    • Tim Knight says:

It’s too early for that. We need to get all our players in camp first before they figure out who plays where.

  43. Mike E. says:

    jetssuck

I desire Brady to pay a penalty just like any other player that the NFL rules on. It’s not whether the NFL is right or not, they made a ruling on a player, and the player weaseled out of it. Every other player that was suspended, did their time. Was very ruling the NFL put forth correct? Not likely, but they served their time regardless.

    • jetsssuck says:

if that is the way you think the league should operate right or wrong that is your opinion. Reminds me of GM(american general motors) building tanks and Jeeps for Germans during the WW in Germany and US paid GM because US was wrong for bombing those manufacturing plants. Stupid ruling but I have to a bind by a contract.

      • Mike E. says:

I didn’t say that’s how the league should operate, just that if the league makes a ruling, every player has to abide by it. That’s how it works. I think they should always try and get it right, but when they make a decision, that’s it. Stand by it.

  44. dbolt48 says:

You do realize the NFL took a 1st rd pick this year away from the Pats and a 4th in 2017 right? That was their ruling, Brady fought him on being suspended personally missing games and money. But his team was penalized by the league with drafts picks and money. Why? Because they did nothing wrong. LOL

  47. The Flying Pig says:

Every player agreed to abide by the leagues rules when they agreed through player reps to the CBA

The federal ruling reversing the suspension really undermined the CBA

It would not have bothered me if the two sides would have just agreed in 2 games

I think that is the smarter move than leaving not up to the courts

Roger Stone is very knowledgeable. Was an insider all the way back to Goldwater & Nixon, and is still active. He used to be part of the corruption as a young guy, trying to make money. But his conscious got to him & he came clean for many years now and he’s outing all of them.
Check him out sometime on youtube or his website Stonezone.com

  61. jetsssuck says:

Here’s 1 4 u guys.Hillary invested 1000 dollars in a 9 month futures cattle contract and can you guess what her return was? I wonder if it was inside info but I guess anything is possible.

    • getterdone says:

Her, Pelosi, Reid, & many others in both parties have made tons with insider info. There’s a little known caveat in the law that allows members of congress to do so. No wonder it’s such a highly sought position, besides all the lobby & special interest monies….SMH!

      • getterdone says:

That’s why many of them as well as the large banker execs made fortunes off of the housing bubble burst days before it popped, then again on the bailouts, courtesy of your tax dollars.

GD, the last question was centered around Trump being the head honcho. All the debates have been rigged. Unreal!

No substance. A lot of bad stuff but some good entertaining stuff as well. That’s what it’s all about anyway right? LOL

    We got Trump’s life documentary.
    Some infrastructure and defense discussions.
    Foreign policy eh?
The common town, only Kasich, He’s the best candidate but he’ll never win.

The biggest thing I got out of his debate was Trump’s moderate stance. He appealed to a larger audience as abrasive as he is. He stayed calm. Cruz tried to lure him in and he backed off.

None of these other candidates can claim Trump’s accomplishments and they know it. So they don’t go there other than Kasich who has done it on the government level.

That said, it doesn’t mean I’m voting for Trump, I don’t like the decorum of the panel. But the media set this up. They can’t wait for Hillary vs. Donald.

    • getterdone says:

He did seem very clam and laid back tonite. He’s cool now, he knows he’s got an insurmountable lead. Only way to stop him is by rigging, stealing delegates, corruption, a huge false flag event that declares a national emergency, or by physical harm.

He’s in the driver seat, he’s surrounded himself with good advisors, and he’s becoming more serious in what he’s doing.
Is he perfect? No. Does he have a few warts? Yes…they all do, most on a grander scale.
But Trump seems to be genuinely for pulling the fracturing country back together, & becoming more prosperous.

    • getterdone says:

Tim, the media isn’t trying to set this up for Hillary vs Trump….Hillary yes, but they’re trying their best, from orders given them to discredit Trump at all costs with silly questions and asking about disavowing Duke over & over & over, all the while throwing up softball questions for the establishment guys, Rubio, Cruz, & Kasich.
Funny, it keeps backfiring on them…LOL

  63. jetsssuck says:

Not going to happen to many big money people who have million and billions on the line. Here’s a interesting person you can look into for “right to rise” PAC Ray Lee Hunt.

After his father’s death in 1974, he inherited Hunt Oil Co. along with his three sisters. In 1982, Forbes magazine estimated Ray Hunt’s family’s total net worth to be $200 million. Ray made a huge oil find in Yemen in 1984.[2] It took two years for Hunt, partnering with other companies, to lay a pipeline and build a refinery for the oil. In 2006 Forbes estimated that Ray’s family’s net worth increased from $200 million to $4.6 billion.

In September 2007, Hunt struck an oil deal with the Kurdistan Regional Government in the disputed territories of Ninewa near the Dohuk Governorate with an estimated value of $8 to $14.5 billion. The federal Iraqi Oil minister has denounced this deal as illegal, because under current Iraqi law only the central government is authorized to enter into contracts, though the Kurdistan Region believes it has a constitutional right to do so. The Kurds refuse to share details about the deal but insist that they will share profits. Likewise, Hunt Oil has refused to answer questions about the deal from US government officials who called for details when the deal became public.

  65. Tim Knight says:

jetsssuck, it’s obvious Trump is upsetting the apple cart. I like that about him. I don’t really like him as a person but he’s smarter than most people. Some can’t handle that. I don’t care. At the least I want him to blow up the Republican Party and expose it which is what he’s doing.

If Hillary wins we’ll still be okay. She’s also a big Wall Street girl so business as usual. LOL

    • getterdone says:

Trump makes you want to punch his smug face, but I don’t care what a candidate looks like or sounds like. Remember Ross Perot?
He was the smartest guy running at the time, and a business man, a billionaire in fact, as well as an outsider, non-establishment guy. He told the nation in a debate if they passed NAFTA, you’d hear a big sucking sound of corporations, manufacturing, 7 jobs leaving America.
Well, he didn’t win, cause he looked like an Elf.
Guess what, NAFTA was passed after the election and you see the results today in our labor sector/ GDP, etc.
Now they are trying or have passed TPP, which is NAFTA on steroids. Trump opposes that, but nearly everyone else voted in favor. Boo on them scumbags, boo! As our kids & their kids suffer the consequences!

    • jetsssuck says:

She was a lawyer assistant for mike fernandez. The guy walked in the building with about 50 people surrounding him without parking the cars in the street. They just left them in the street for 30 minutes.Lots of lawyers and I got to talk with one of the most beautiful ones.

Jonathan Jones is small like Grimes, but is blazing ass fast!

The Republican debate was a farce. Trump is an embarrassment of a candidate, his behavior fits an 8 YO snot nosed kid more than a Presidential candidate. The rest of the losers (save for Kasich) are just mumbling the same ol’ same ol’. What a shame. I can’t see voting for Trump, I just can’t. I don’t want Hillary in, but I don’t want Trump either.

    • The Flying Pig says:

      Vote for a 3rd party

      • Mike E. says:

I may just do that. It was intolerable to watch. The crowd was yelling, there were a lot of kids in the audience. It’s just such an unprofessional and un-serious forum now. It used to be a serious event, now it’s a very casual free for all, no rules, and nothing that commands respect or viewership.

      • getterdone says:

Mike, the crowd was yelling cause the tickets to the event are given to hand picked people now that will protest & boo Trump. So yeah, I’d be snotty too.
But, actually Trump was very calm & composed last nite compared to other times.
He had Rubio, Cruz & Kelly with their panties in a bunch though….lol

As you mentioned the candidates other than Trump were just same ol same ol rhetoric.
Trump is fresh with bold ideas. His camp released a new Health Plan yesterday too, but Fox avoided that….Hey, we wanna hear you disavow David Duke for the 20th time Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump, did you disavow David Duke?
Mr. Trump, so will you disavow David Duke??? SMH, and they’re called “moderators”…LMAO. They’re so slanted it isn’t even funny, it’s SAD!

Piggy–here’s something that you may find interesting since you work for yourself and not the man.

Trevor D. Rees-Jones—He started his career as a bankruptcy attorney in Dallas. Later, he practiced oil and gas reorganization law—-major whale for pac “right to rise”. Maybe with S.Arabia refusing to lower its production and our homeland oil companies are going to suffer but it will create opportunities. Maybe we are going to see allot of reorganizations and mergers because these companies are suffering. Maybe you can obtain some extra work since you made the big leap of working for yourself.

    • getterdone says:

…Or maybe a US president could quit holding hands with the Saudi princes & drop our dependency on their foreign oil.
More oil in the US than in Saudi Arabia anyways. Issue offshore drilling permits again! Stop being a bedmate of the Saudi’s.

      • jetsssuck says:

We obviously didn’t watch the same debate. If I were there, I would have wanted to run up on stage and put a freaking gag on him to stifle him from interrupting every comment. It was so frustrating. I can’t stands him! That’s alls I can stands, and I can’t stands more! lol

    • Mike E. says:

Actually, it was “Little man Marco”. Silly me! lol

    • getterdone says:

He was calm when asked a question by the slanted moderators, but did become agitated when the two goons flanking him where constantly interrupting. Hell Rubio could never shut up. • BoulderPhinfan says:

I think that’s the first presidential debate I’ve ever seen where the candidates penis size was debated. LOL

it was more like a clown show than a debate. It was good TV 🙂

    • getterdone says:

Which further shows all the pandering of the Saudi’s is about way more than Oil. It’s about exploiting other weaker ME nations, ousting their leaders, and robbing them of their oil for the international cabal that many of our governmental and societal leaders are invested into as well.

    • jetsssuck says:

yes we are one of the larger producers but we still consume more than we produce. Russia is in the same boat concerning oil production. That article mentions during the 6 month period. As the cost of a barrel of gas goes down so does the incentive of domestic producers to produce in N.America. Cr uz has a plan to create a agreement between Mexico, Canada, and US to take advantage of N.American reserves and lower the cost for the 3 nations by having cutting distribution (transportation) costs. Similar how NAFTA helped auto industry lower costs for assembly compared to the Japanese

  74. Mike E. says:

    Tim

I don’t find Trump amusing at all, not even slightly, and I think he would embarrass our country if he were President. He’s an ass.

    • BoulderPhinfan says:

no argument there but when you have a reality TV star as a nominee you get reality TV. The debate last night was like the apprentice.

    • getterdone says:

On the world stage he’d out negotiate Dubya, BO, Billary, lil Marco, & lying Ted all day long though.

      • The Flying Pig says:

because he is rich let’s all assume he will out negotiate people

You understand that this guy was born with more capital to invest than anyone else

Trump has made more money than any of the other candidates
he’s also lost more money than any of them

He has capital to spend and create more money

it doesn’t mean he is some great negotiator or that somehow that will translate to foreign policy negotiations

Trump didn’t make something from nothing
        he mad something from something

we are just dealing with such huge amounts of money that the profits are really large

If you think business success = the best negotiator
and he will get what he wants
look at our own guy, one of the richest owners in the NFL, Ross and compare the success he had with obtaining Jeff Fisher or John Harbaugh

He’s one of he most successful business men in the NFL – and it does has not translated to NFL success in terms of getting what he sets his mind to

In terms of politics, diplomacy is a real skill
and it has been invaluable to politicians everywhere since the beginning of time
Trump can’t change hundreds of years of making compromises and swallowing your pride (which is what diplomats do everyday)
He does not show any diplomacy skills

Maybe that’s something angry voters relate to
But I have a hard time believing than trying to bully everyone around is going to work on the world stage
and I dread the pushback from that

If you negotiate like trump acts on the world stage – I think there are going to be some real problems

diplomacy is about compromise – voters don’t want to hear that, but that’s the truth
and I’m not getting from Trump that is his strong suit.

    • Tim Knight says:

Well since I think most pols are asses but not as amusing, actually more nauseating, I do like that Trump is fucking the Republican Party up because it needs to happen.

  75. BoulderPhinfan says:

    GDP,
the issue is not who has more oil. The issue is who can get the oil into gasoline cheapest. It costs Saudi Arabia less than $10/barrel to get their oil out. So if oil is above 15/barrel they make a profit.

Oil has to be over $60/barrel for US shale oil producers to get a profit. So as long as the Saudis are pumping a lot of cheap oil we won’t be able to compete with that unless the technology catches up and makes it less costly

  76. The Flying Pig says:

I thought Trump was the same jerk he always is

I don’t think there is anything presidential about him

I did think Cruz and Rubio were pretty tough on him
but for the most part – their criticism was right on the money
and Trump acted like “so what”
so I guess that can be seen as “calm”
But for some one who hates Trump (like me) he did nothing to convince me that I’m wrong about him

and for some one who loves him – they still love him

it looks pretty set in stone now

last night was just about entertainment value and not so much substance

    • Mike E. says:

I think it was entertaining if your a Democrat, or you don’t care if we have an ass as President.

    • Tim Knight says:

They barely discussed any issues. But they rarely do that during debates anyway so it might as well be amusing. When the reality is this woman will be our president anyway, why not have a laugh along the way.

  77. jetsssuck says:

JS, I doubt you even watched it or did a study on it. But yeah, the “forest” is 96million americans out of the work force. 100M on some sort of government teat, at all time record levels….and the progressives want to hand out more, so they can control the minions as they & their cronies makes untold riches.

    • jetsssuck says:

Wow- I didn’t realize 96 million out of work that is almost 40% of all of working. The great recession wasn’t as bad. Yes, some industries suffered but others gained as a result of Nafta.

  87. jetsssuck says:

here’s a question for you Piggy:
Do you think Brady can sue Goodel for defamation of character with malice with his pursuit or should I say continuation of suit in civil court?

    • The Flying Pig says:

      no
defamation is very tough to prove in general
Think of it as an exception to the 1st amendment
bc when a person sues another person for defamation they are asking a court (the gov’t) to suppress speech

so the threshold is high to begin without looking at the facts

people sue for defamation all the time in spite of that
but its not an easy suit to win when push comes to shove

There is a couple of parts to proving defamation that are generally problematic

the first being that the defamatory statement must be false
that means the suing party must prove that its false
the burden shifts and that is the killer

Its not that Tom Brady has to say to the NFL – you can’t prove I didn’t do anything
its that Tom Brady has to prove – I didn’t actually do anything
sure there is evidence out there, more like theories, like the ideal gas law – but I don’t think Tom Brady can prove he didn’t do anything
while I do think he can say “NFL can’t prove it” and win
its the shifting burden than hurts the person claiming defamation

my law school professor use to give us a hypothetical
Tom Cruise wants to sue the Enquirer for saying “Tom Cruise is Gay”
How’s Tom Cruise going to prove that?
He can’t – he has to convince everyone he is not gay, not that it was wrong to call him gay without knowing if he was

      You see the difference
You have to prove its false
and proving something said about you is false is hard and messy and ugly

Tom Brady probably doesn’t want to have top prove he didn’t cheat
it will probably hurt him more than it helps him

There is also an priveledge aspect
and I suspect, but I don’t know, that the CBA creates some kind of immunity for the commissioner in enforcing its rules, even if the commissioner wronged some one in doing that

and if that’s true, that will case a case dismissed before it even gets started

  88. getterdone says:

This is soo sad! And now the BO admin has pushed through the TPP.
It must stop for the good of the common people in all countries involved.

    • jetsssuck says:

why choose the auto industry? AAllot of foreign multinational companies manufacture in Mexico. The American auto industry was a success story if you consider the industry would have collapsed if it stayed in US. The citizens of Mexico that work at these factories probably have not made as much in their life. It will take more factories to move to elevate the people of mexico

        Upgrade the OL.
        WR Landry
        WR Parker
        WR Stills
        TE Cameron
        QB Tannehill
        RB Miller

There’s a lot of talent there. Put a sensible offense in place, call the game like someone who has a clue and we could be a very good offense.

that’s pretty steep IMO. IF he gets that I hope the guarantee money is not more than 13 or 14

  90. Tim Knight says:

I think the guaranteed money would be around half for Miller.

Be glad you’re not a mexican worker…but if our country keeps pushing these types of trade policies, then we will become mexican & chinese workers. Bring on the robots. 😉

  92. BoulderPhinfan says:

    gdp,
If miller is getting 6mil/year then the guaranteed money is usually 2+ years. SO I think its in the 13-15mil range but you never know.
