(Wedge sits at a piano and sings the scouting report)
Goodbye Lamar Miller
Though I never saw you get many carries

You had the skill to resign elsewhere
While the Dolphins look elsewhere

Now the Dolphins have to look to the draft
who can they find to replace you

Maybe some one else who will only get 3 touches a game
Though I really hope not

And it seems to me that a Utah running back might be a good idea
A guy like Devonate Booker …..hmmm hmmm hmmm

In 2014 Booker had 0ver 1500 yards on the ground
never needing more than 292 carries and averaging more than 5 yards per carry

In 2015 you had a few less carries
and still had over 1200 yards and close to 5 yards per carry again

23 total touchdowns on the last two years
and that includes receiving touchdowns

600 yards receiving and 22 reps on the bench press
we will have to wait until your proday to see you run the 40 .

And I would have liked to draft you
but I’m just a alien fan
a fan who sobs for Lamar Miller

If Devontae Booker was a alien weapon of destruction
he would be a Space Hankerchief, helping us get over Lamar Miller.

Watch his highlights here:

tim,
yeah that is his primary belief. he does what most do and lump everyone of a race together. i constantly have to point out you cant lump all like that. that i am pretty damn sure if you like him or not the president is a lot smarter then most.
He’s a Republican cat voting for Trump
mike,
Bush got 40% of latino vote. We’ll see where trump ends up.
Honestly, I really don’t care where ends up as long as he doesn’t get enough delegates to be the Republican candidate. Regardless, whether they vote for him or for someone else is not an indication on whether they thought he was racist or not.
That’s all you can keep saying. I guess Hitler, err Trump is racist if he gets anything less than 40%.
tim,
you have the racist thing all wrong. here is how it works.
if the other guy says you are a racist first then you are a racist. no take backs, no rubber i am glue…none of that works. as long as the other guy said it first then the other person is a racist and nothing at all the first guy says can ever ever be construed as racist, he has a free pass to even wear white sheets in public and not be called a racist as long as he said it first.
There’s that too which is annoying.
Piggy, my company is working on a campaign about human trafficking. It’s a really depressing topic and based on my research it’s a real problem in Mexico, Central and South America. But just as depressing is that it’s just as rampant in America in California, Texas, Florida, Georgia and New York. It’s real.
Just remember if you are interested in a prostitute and it’s a young girl, she’s likely being held against her will. And that’s not all it’s about. Some is for slave labor. It’s a really sickening thing people do to each other. Some of the people involved know the victims and still do it. They have no conscience.
Tim
Are you saying all pigs are interested in prostitutes?
LOL, I meant to say ‘anyone’ but being that I addressed him specifically it looks like it was for him. The same with swimming cats, not all are into water. LOL
Gotta go folks

Same here, later folks.
Just remember if you are interested in a prostitute and it’s a young girl (first you are a sick scumbag and need your dick removed by a very dull rusty knife), she’s likely being held against her will.

well actually he was questioning if he was into girl prostitutes
Piggy, I’m sorry you see it that way. I think you’re cherry picking the way a sentence was phrased not to your liking and attacking the guy on it.
There are many Mexicans, Cubans, etc, that are in support for Trump. Apparently they didn’t read into those comments they way you did. But that’s ok, each to his own I guess.
Good luck with the candidate of your choice. We can only hope they have all American’s best interest at hand & a priority.

FFR, when I mentioned young prostitute girls I didn’t necessarily mean underage, I just meant young. That said they do tend to be put out there underage by these creeps.
So is young for you under 50 😉
No, my comments were in reference to human trafficking which is something I have worked on at my company for a campaign to bring awareness. I was pointing out where it is rampant and it blows my mind how much of it exists in America. Atlanta and New York are two of the biggest hubs in this country.

this mus have been before we traded out of 8
We could also trade up. Though the hardcore draftnik fans who like to keep all their picks will be pissed. LOL
Dbolt,
I don’t remember that quote from the movie Rudy! Lol
Boulder/Tim,
If we trade up after trading back already(in which we got no picks), I’m gonna slap somebody in the front office. Lol
***
Seriously though….I can’t take anything off the table in this draft. I’m not sure there’s anybody in this draft I’d give up multiple picks to get, but they may feel differently. We have a lot of holes to fill…for me, I’d hate to give up picks at all.
We got two projected starters by trading back 5 spots. That trade wasn’t about adding picks.
Randy, my view on our team is what the 53 man looks like at the end of the day and did it make us a better team, not how we got there.
Tim,
Gandhi was not a perfect man. I just like the quote. Actually, I was thinking of politics when I posted that. I don’t like to get into the race debate. It’s pointless…sorta like the Tanny discussions I avoid at all costs! Lol
I hear ya man. I was just pointing out not even a guy with his rep was perfect.
Discussing race issues from a race point of view without it being political is a healthy debate IMO. It’s when it becomes political is where it gets off track.
The Tanny discussions aren’t as important. 🙂
Tim,
I think you have to take into account where your team currently is too. If they feel the team is close to a legitimate deep playoff run team, then give up picks and go get that guy who can step in and make a difference day one. If you’re a team with lots of holes and/or a serious lack of depth, then accumulate picks and continue building your team for the future. You have to self scout yourself and make a plan.
***
Again, just my preference. There’s lots of ways to skin a cat. The draft truly is part art, so they’ll have to read it as it goes. I’m always up for adding high end talent…that’s why I didn’t want to give up the #8 pick in the first place! I just don’t wanna give up picks to get back there. Lol
Management could view the team as having less holes than the media and fans do because they’re closer to the situation and may like how some young players are developing that we’re not seeing. So they may feel go for impact and fill some depth with some of our remaining draft picks, UDFAs and some late vet pickups after cuts who we might value over a player or two we have.
If the team really knows the formula for comp picks then next year we’re going to have extra picks to work with – a potential 3rd, 4th and 7th but that’s not guaranteed just a projection. So they might want add more immediate impact this year rather than a lot of developmental depth which we already have a lot of.
Comp picks can also be traded starting 2017 so those are extra bargaining chips to trade up again next year to add more immediate impact.
I’ve said it before, the way this team is constructed is to start competing now, not a few years down the road, regardless of whether we think they are or the team is right about it. We have a ton of UFAs next year and a few guys currently on 1 and 2 years deals.
Even Ross when asked about rebuilding; he said “I don’t believe so not with a 5th year QB.” So Tannehill knows it’s his time to go to the next level or he’ll be headed for competing for a job in Miami or elsewhere. That’s really where we are. Make a playoff run this year and see who we’d like to keep building around moving forward, or possibly be forced into starting a new phase of rebuilding. This season will be very telling where we’re headed in 2017.

randy,
you mean give up draft picks and trade back to 8? LOL. now that would be one for the books.
3 starters for 2-3 picks? We gave up nothing but position for Maxwell and Alonso. Say we traded our 1st and 2nd to move to #6 for Mack, we’d have 3 projected starters and still have a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and two 7’s. That’s if we coveted a guy. We don;t have to do that.
Still not my favorite!

Tim,
Yep, I know you’ve mentioned before that you think this team may be closer than others do. That’s cool. Every season is unpredictable to a certain extent. I think it’s a mistake to think this team is anything more than an average team with a number of holes and a serious lack of depth. That’s what leads to making dumb choices. Again, it’s all about self scouting.
***
As for Ross, well, when he talks about football….I’m not impressed. Besides, the whole organization is in “Sell hope” mode every year at this time. It’s all “we’re close” “We’re not rebuilding.” “We’re trying to win now.” That’s okay. I expect it, but it doesn’t mean I buy it. Lol
I get all that and I’m not saying we’re closer, the team is saying it in their actions. The contracts scream it and so does age for some guys.
As for Ross saying I don’t think we’re rebuilding with a 5th year QB, he’s publicly saying I expect to win now. That’s where I’m drawing all this from. Tannenbaum was brought here to jump start the team, not start over. He’s aggressive and knows there is talent in pace that needs to be built around sooner than later or it will become a rebuild in a few years.
That’s how I view it. I’m not predicting anything. I’ve never seen the 2016 team play.
I still get worked up over certain moves, but at the end of the day it means shit until we see them play. It’s okay to be passionate and opinionated about our team though; that’s what makes it fun.
Of course that’s why I’m open to many scenarios. The fans who are draftniks and hate trading up and ‘giving away’ picks always fire off patriot missiles to stop that shit though. LOL

Did you catch when I mentioned my wife’s district is going on strike? Starts tomorrow.
I did. What are the circumstances surrounding the strike? Pay?
4yrs without a contract. Board & their Attorney asked for fact finders to come in and settle the stalemate back in September. Teachers accepted the fact finders resolution which included retroactive back, but included higher insurance premiums. The board who requested it….rejected it.
School board has tried to collapse columns on teachers who have a masters+ essentially trying to eliminate any step growing earning potential. They also tried to get the teachers to accept a minimal 2.25% increase with higher insurance premiums which equal a 0% net gain and actually a net loss for some teachers. They also tried to put in the contract language full freedom to label teachers, at their own discretion, part time which would eliminate all health benefits. They also published false contracts that were never negotiated on the school website in attempts to sway public opinion in their favor.
They tried to say teachers never want to meet with them when in actuality this year alone they gave the board 140 dates that they could meet in which the board only gave 7.

i am not sure what in all this has to do with me saying it is funny how now draft position is important but some were ripped on here as bad fans when they could careless about a meaningless win and wanted draft position over the win.
as as far as an open mind goes it doesnt get any more open how mine has been over the past decade or so……..with every move they make my answer is ‘will tell you in december if it was a good move or not’
It’s another example of me just stating my opinion. Not disagreeing with you but adding to the discussion of how to use draft picks and build a team. There is no one way. You also have to look at the situation.

Man, half the Mets team looks lethargic. They have WS loss layover for sure and weird scheduling. They had to go back to KC and watch them celebrate some more for 2 days to open the season. At least they split. Then looked ho-hum in the PHI series 1-2 and now getting their asses kicked by the Marlins. Time to get out of the funk and start playing some ball Metsies.
Oh wait, how many more games, 156? LOL

I can’t speak for anybody else of course, but I’m never cool with losing on purpose….even for a higher draft pick. I do believe you lose something with that sort of mindset….it’s just harder to quantify than better draft position. Like Lombardi said; Winning is an all the time thing.

piggy,
i am sure if they become better teams and are winning the attendee would improve a little bit. but baseball is all more about tradition. and neither the rays or marlins have had a chance to build a generation or two of fans
I liked what the Rays were doing a few years ago
But it didn’t really take off
The Marlins built, win and sold
Then built won and sold
Then built and sold without the winning
I agree
Btw baseball, more than anything else is about tradition

my guess is mike and tim have been life long mets fan. i myself grew up a reds fan and once i got to meet some certain people in position of a bit importance became a yankee fan too. the rays have been around for 19 years i think i was a reds fan longer then that. it takes generations to build up a loyalty in baseball

Dbolt,
That is absolutely ridiculous . It’s not uncommon for teachers up here to work without a contract, but retroactive pay is fairly standard if that is the case. The health insurance factor is ludacris. I wonder what is going to happen to that board once elections roll around…
I guess the community ripped the holy hell out of the board tonight for their actions. The wife said it was great!
I think the worst part of that post DBolt is the full discretion to name teachers as part time employees – which the obviously are not
I hear from teachers in FLA that some of the same things come up
I don’t know what is going on with education

well it did, but they just ran into a baseball darling in the phillies who had not won a world series in 30 years. there was no way mlb was going to let that happen. when a pitcher walks off the mound and tips his cap to the umpire for giving him calls and the networks can even point out how the pitcher thanked the ump for the calls you got to know you didnt have a chance at winning that series
People in fla don’t really love baseball that much
not so sure about that. i mean i think it has more to do with it is a sport down here that is played year round in youth sports. no other sport is as much as baseball. i think that has a lot to do with the parents who would have to be buying tickets to attend games just having their fill of the sport.
‘They also tried to put in the contract language full freedom to label teachers, at their own discretion, part time which would eliminate all health benefits.’
how is that even legal or possible. maybe some of the legal ones here can chime in but how in the world is that even legal. when the law already states what a full time employer is isnt that the law, i dont see how someone can say ‘ok you can have this as long as you let me break the law’ no one has that right to say others can break the law. it is like someone saying ‘but he gave me permission to rob that guy over there’ or ‘but he gave permission to kill him’. i dont think someone is allowed to give another person the permission to break the law
I suppose if they forced hours below the full time minimum it would be legal

Good points Steve. Teachers are technically 10 month employees, so I’m sure that’s the angle they are trying to use to make the part time label happen. The thing is, they COULD make them part time employees if the teachers signed a contract agreeing to it, which they would never do.

Too many Mets bats are still asleep, and they haven’t gotten the dominating pitching yet. It will turn around. They’re a better team than the way they have been playing. Granderson nothing, Duda and d’Arnuad nothing, that will change. The pitching will come around, though I’m surprised to see how poorly Harvey is pitching.
I know, I was joking. That’s why I said how many games are left, 156? LOL
I wasn’t really replying to that post, just stating what I think. That being said, I wish we had gotten a leadoff hitter, I hate the lack of wheels we have on the base paths, I also think we need to play better defense, and d’Arnaud can’t throw anyone out. That’s a problem.

That’s a really general answer

you can however waive or release claims – but consideration has to be exchanged
MMQB’s Peter King reports the Titans have a “solid offer” on the table for the No. 1 overall pick.
GM Jon Robinson said last week interest in the pick has “increased some” in the last several weeks. Robinson has been open about his desire to trade down, but he will likely wait until closer to the draft to see if North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz or Cal QB Jared Goff creates enough buzz to drive up the price. The Eagles, 49ers and perhaps even the Rams could have some interest in trading up, and Cleveland might be interested in moving up from No. 2 overall to ensure they do not get jumped. The Titans reportedly will target Notre Dame LT Ronnie Stanley if they trade out of the top spot.
The Dolphins swoop on in and take Jalen Ramsey. LOL
Mike, the Mets aren’t a perfectly constructed team. They’re about their starting pitching and some punch in the lineup. The defense at SS and 2B looks a lot better. Wright has arm issues so we have to live with that.
Henderson could be be a nice find as a 7th or 8th round guy.
I’d be happy with conklin if he’s the pick.

Trump has a history of suppressing union rights not granting greater rights to employees

he has dodged labor dispute and regulation to his benefit and for his own profit to the detriment of salaried employees
Trump hired undocumented workers to build a hotel during a labor dispute so he can pay them under $5 an hour. Its well documented go ahead and google it. If he has a quick speedy relosution for this sort of dispute it would not be beneficial to employees.

piggy, that was my question. i didnt see how putting something in the contract that is illegal would be allowed. i mean if that were the case i would give OD permission to sale the fins to me for $2.98 and then let you be in charge of the draft.
generally a contract cannot be illegal
the classic hypothetical is a hitman sues the mob to collect on a contract they failed to pay for a hit he did
What does the court do?
Dismiss the case and call the DA….lol
Piggy at the front of the Dump Trump bus…..smh
Ya won’t have to worry about Trump Piggy. He likely isn’t going to be ‘elected’, even though he has an overwhelming lead in votes all across America, & very strong with our military voters!
But the growing evidence is yet another rigged & stolen election, of the elite, by the elite & for the elite.
This time around they’re being wide out in the open with it. Like they could careless what we dumb sheep think. They’re blatantly showing the average citizen that, hey, your vote doesn’t count. We’ll ‘select’ who we want.
I sincerely hope you’re going to be happy with their ‘selection’ as he/she is a continuation to carry on the Bush/Obama policies that they were instructed to move forward.
Ahh, good times! smh
Let’s try and stay away from the politics today. It’s worse than arguing about Tannehill
I said the same thing. It turned some people off like uwant and they don’t want to be here if that’s what the blog is going to be about.
He’s being facetious. I saw him on here spouting about politics & injustices in the land down under before….lol
Conklin could handle LG with absolutely no issues. He’d offset BA & Pouncey’s lack of strength at the POA.
Cool!
I really like Conklin, think he might be even better than Stanley. But I was hoping we’d see a big jump in Douglas in his 2nd year.
I’d also like to see some better depth, a young guy, maybe from the later rounds in a deep OC draft, to groom to replace Pouncey.
Douglas could make the big jump, he could also continue to work at center for some versatility. Turner could make a big jump. Most people probably don’t think Thomas will. Urbik will likely be the starting RG. Nick Martin would be a good young prospect to groom behind Pouncey.
GDP
Douglas can move to RG, just put the best 5 out there
It’s not always that simple. Turner is gaining exp @ RG. He’s bigger & might be more suited to play there. We won’t know what Tbomb, Gase, Forester, & Christensen really think of our OL until we see how the draft goes.
That’s always the idea.
Turner is bigger than Douglas how?
Turner just seems built more the road grader type than Douglas for the RG spot. This is not to say Douglas would be incapable of playing there or most anywhere along the OL.
Douglas is a powerful guy, but either way, it wasn’t run blocking that either of those guys struggled with, it’s pass protection. Hopefully, whoever plays OG for us is better than they were last year.
Tim, you don’t draft a Nick Martin early just to stick him behind Pouncey…IMO>
As you mentioned, Douglas can maybe continue to be depth there.
To groom a future starter there to replace Pouncey, then the late rounds offer some good choices like Matt Skura. His skill set & intelligence is said to be inline with a Alex Mack type.
That’s more the route I’d go.
Martin could also compete at guard.

This is where the separation between college and the pros need to be taken into account. Tebow was a good college QB. 😉
The other con on Scooby is scouts don’t like his body. He’s top heavy with skinny legs. He was horrible at the combine in drills and wasn’t much better at his pro day. They said even in LB drills he was just okay.
I’d like to see us add a better LB than him in the draft.
Schoebert is a good looking athlete who looked good at the combine
and as I recall he made a play in the senior bowl too
My feeling on him is that he is not as aggressive as he should be though
maybe that’s a good thing (Piggy shrugs)
Scooby is Scooby and does take athletically declined to new levels…lol
but he is very aggressive and instinctive and that is worth something
On day 3 Scooby makes a lot more sense
but I’m not as high on him as I once was
bc I do think the limitations are there
I don’t know a thing about Daniels
Yeah it’s nothing personal on Scooby, he is what he is. Maybe he will overcome his athletic limitations and be productive but he’ll likely have to do that as a 3rd day pick.
Mike, good point on pass pro. The new coaches have to really work on that this offseason.
LMAO at Mike E over @ other Phins blog talking politics. Hypocrite! 😆
It’s a little much here already, and that was just a joke on the other blog anyway.
there’s another blog?
I’m not talking politics, I’m talking about a social issue.
You mean the Hillary comments? There’s about 20 words and that was the end of it and it was a joke. Calm down there Pepe! LOL
For those who care, “Hillary… scarier than a coconut crab!” LOL
Yeah I agree on a bar of politics today
I will do my part and shut up for the day
Charlie for president!
damn here’s a funny email I got recently started coming every day.
“The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive”
Trump…. February 2016
I’m barred from addressing this today
disbarred , sorry
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/04/12/arizona-lb-scooby-wright-iii-writes-cover-letter-to-nfl-teams/
This is for you Piggy!
Answer from and NFL team: “Thank you for your letter Scooby, seriously that’s your name? Here’s the thing, you run and move like Herman Munster and you’re built like an egg propped up on tooth picks. Good luck!”
I actually liked what he did.
Tim
It’s possible Scooby wasn’t totally healthy at the combine. His production is there, if I were interested in drafting him, I’d want to bring him in for a workout.
The reality is
he is not a great athlete
the combine is a place where you demonstrate your athletic skill
but he is tenacious, instinctive and will work hard accepting a lesser roe on a team if necessary
I hope his letter doesn’t work and we get him in the 4th or 5th round….lol
It’s possible and I’m just having fun. But he wasn’t very good at his pro day either.
College production can be very misleading too. Can he matchup with the best of the best at the next level play after play, game after game?
That letter is pretty awesome no matter what Timmy Scrooge says…
Lots of players write letters and send videos to teams when they know they’re not top prospects.
What is the love affair with this guy? Other prospects get bashed daily but Scooby has some of you cuddling with stuffed animals and drinking juice boxes. LOL
Why do you hate him so much?
There is a lot more positive things than negative things about prospects here
He just happens to be an early favorite of mine
we all hve favorites
I don’t think I bash prospects to much
I try to keep it positive most of the time
there are a couple I have laid it on over the years (Jordan Tripp comes to mind and that WR from Texas A&M everyone wanted to draft that I hated) but I don’t really think we bash too many prospects
Some bash more than others I guess
Piggy showed his racist roots when he hated the thought of drafting the Amish Warrior Ryan Swope. 🖕Still to this day Pig😂
Piggy
I’m sure you saw the combine, he looked like one of us trying to do drills, not an athlete that played college ball for 4 years and probably practiced those drills hundreds of times.
what do you mean?
I thought he looked good in the shuttle
Watch it again and tell me what you think
LOL! Pretty close.
Tim & Scobby had a falling out a few years back. Prior to that they were best friends!
Tim ate all his Scooby Snacks
ZOINKS!
Nah, just stuck his finger in the neighbors Rottweilers ass.
Piggy, I’ve said many times maybe Scooby will overcome his limitations and be a good NFL player. I’m not rooting against him or anything just having some fun. But as a fan of the draft I’ve seen and read about the limitations that are a concern.
Those concerns are written by Mr Smithers the Museum Curator
who is probably just upset he didin’t do anything about those sniveling kids when he had the chance.
Swope was Amish?
Nope, but that was one of the jokes that some on the FME site threw around about him😂
e was a 6th round pick
so no huge loss
but he retired a few months after the draft
Banged his head off the turf during OTAs or rookie camp and then had to retire due to another concussion. In all honesty, I hope he’s been able to move forward with a “normal” healthy life.
Tim said…
For those who care, “Hillary… scarier than a coconut crab!” LOL
At least she doesn’t have a face like a busted crab! LOL
GD…yes I made a couple posts early deriding your pol system ut I never expected the 200 odd posts to pol ones. I decided to stop reading and let it ride itself out, Sorta like a tsunami but now it seems to be clear,
All I want out of the draft is for us not to make a stupid trade up or down. Just keep our picks and go BPA. Conklin is my pick for 13 so nothing has changed there.
