OMG! The Draft is Here!!

2016 NFL Draft

We’ve talked about it for a long time, in fact, some of us started talking about it before we drafted last year, in the 2015 NFL draft.  It never stops.  The NFL Draft, the place where dreams are either realized, or crushed.  There is always hope, always, because where else can you bring in new, young talent, and the potential to bring in 8 or more new faces to your team in one weekend.  This only happens with the NFL, and then after the draft, even more excitement is generated by the signing of players who went undrafted.  Sometimes, a player who was expected to be a mid round pick falls completely off the draft board, or in last year’s case, a possible top 10 pick, like La’el Collins, who due to bizarre circumstances with a murder case he had no part in yet was being questioned by police, had all 32 teams wipe him right off their draft boards.

Tomorrow will begin the madness that is the 2016 NFL Draft.  The Miami Dolphins currently hold 8 picks, starting from the #13 pick, #42, #73, #107, #147, #186, #227, and finally #231.  There is no guarantee that the Dolphins will use all those picks to get 8 players, they may trade up early in the 1st RD and use 2 or 3 picks to accomplish that.  They may trade back later in the into the 1st RD, and gain a couple of picks.  There are so many angles from which to look at either strategy, and a case can be made for both, without either of them being necessarily wrong or right.  For instance, supposedly, this draft plateaus from approximately pick #15 to pick #50, meaning the talent at #50 is nearly equal to the talent at #15.  We pick at #13, right around that imaginary line, so would trading back to pick up a couple of extra players in that range be smart?  Sure.  If all the supposed blue chippers are in the top 10, does it not make sense to trade up and get a superior talent and a player with a greater chance of making a big impact on our team right now?  Sure.

Whatever we do tomorrow, partly because of past failures, such as the Dion Jordan trade up to #3 in 2013, or just because of personal preferences, some of us will be angry at some of the selections we make, and yet others will be ecstatic.  That’s how it is.  I have to give all you guys/girls lots of credit for your dedication to the sport, and especially the entire draft process.  I know many of you tirelessly watch college football to find potential for the Miami Dolphins, and others, like myself, who don’t watch college ball, scour as many scouting reports, watch highlight reels, record and watch the entire week of Senior Bowl practices and the game itself, the same with the NFL combine.  The funny thing is, even the best of the best here, who really put in max effort, most likely don’t put in a fraction of the time our scouting staff put in, and our coaches and our GM put in.  Granted, that’s their job, we do it for (fun?).  Still, we should all probably just chill out with the negative feelings (I know I will have them), because these guys really did put in the effort to make the team better, and hopefully, it actually works.

I’m going to give you my picks for each round, without trade ups or trade downs, because those are just too hard to predict, it requires a lot of cooperation and desire from another team or two, and therefore, I’ll just do it straight up.  This draft is not who I want for our team, it’s how I expect it to happen.

RD 1 – Pick #13  RB Ohio State  – Ezekiel Elliott

First of all, let’s put that myth that if he’s elite, he’ll be gone by pick #10 nonsense, and if he’s not, he’ll be there.  Great NFL players are chosen all over the place, and these selections are made by a few parameters, GRADE, NEED (at a certain position) and VALUE.  Every team will have different metrics on those, and many teams obviously have different needs for both position, and the type of players they want to fill those positions.  For example, while Vernon Hargreaves may  be rated very high on most boards, a team that prefers bigger CB’s may not have him on their board early at all.  So back to Elliott.  He would most definitely be our best RB if he were to join our team.

Much has been made of Adam Gase’s use of a “running back by committee”.  I think it’s only fair to look at each situation, and why that may have been.  In Denver 2013,  first off, Gase had Peyton Manning., who threw the ball 659 times for nearly 5500 yards.  The Broncos drafted Montee Ball, and added him to a stable with Knowshown Moreno, Ronnie Hillman, and and CJ Anderson.  Moreno carried the ball 241 times, more than double the carries Montee Ball got at 120 carries. Is that really a RB by committee?  In 2014, again, Manning put up astronomical numbers, 597 pass attempts, over 4700 yards.  With Knowshown Moreno out of the picture, and Montee ball fat and out of shape, and fumbling often, Gase had little choice to try and find the hot hand.  CJ Anderson rushed 179 times, for 849 yards, and Ronnie Hillman 106 times, for 434.  Keep in mind, Ronnie Hillman was the better 3rd down back, and most of his action was on 3rd down, but again, the RB by committee aspect doesn’t necessarily show up, because the talent just simply wasn’t there to earn the bulk of the carries.

In Chicago, 2015, Adam Gase had 30 YO Matt Forte,  rookie Jeremy Langford, and 2nd YR RB Ka’Deem Carey.  Just for some background, Forte has never really been a bellcow RB, the most carries he had in his career was his rookie season when had a high of 316 carries.  He never broke 300 again, and has been slowly diminishing in carries the last few years, from 289 in ’13, to 266 in ’14, and last year 218.  Langford carried 148 times, and  Carey 43.  Clearly, Forte was his best guy, but at 30 YO, he didn’t overwork him, and for the most part, Chicago’s offense was a disappointment, despite Jay Cutler playing at his most efficient, with 21 TD’s and only 11 INT’s.  They sorely missed Brandon Marshall last season, and when Alshon Jeffery got hurt, that was it for this offense.

My point is, I don’t believe that Gase has a strategy to use his running backs nearly equally.  I think he had to in Denver, out of necessity, and in Chicago, he didn’t want to burn out his 30 year old star in Matt Forte.  Gase did say he wants a stable of RB’s, and I think that’s the responsible thing to do, considering what can happen if there’s a severe drop off in talent from your starter to your reserves.  make no mistake, if we draft Ezekiel Elliott, he will clearly be our best RB, and we will use him as such.   He will make a huge impact in our offense.

RD 2 – Pick #42  CB Houston – William Jackson III

We have a definite need at CB, no question about it, and we get the best we can in the 2nd RD.  Jackson gives another 6 foot CB who can play both press and zone coverage.  A good fit for what we’re looking for, Jackson will certainly be given every opportunity to start opposite Byron Maxwell.

RD 3 – Pick #73  OG Stanford – Joshua Garnett

As much as we need a CB, we need to shore up the interior OL.  We get the powerful OG Garnett from Stanford.  Garnett also will be given every opportunity to start somewhere on the OL, most likely LG, to compete with vet Jermon Bushrod.  That will leave a battle royale at RG, with Billy Turner, Jamil Douglas,  and Kraig Urbik .

RD 4  – Pick #107  OLB Akron –  Jatavis Brown

Excellent athletic player, with wheels (4.47 40).  Driven, team oriented player, lunch pail type of guy.  A little undersized at 5’11” 227, but a great guy to bring into the mix at OLB.

RD 5 – Pick #147   S Miami –  Deon Bush

Bush is a physical player who likes to hit, and when he does, forces fumbles.  Bush forced 5 fumbles in 2014.  He can also go up and get the ball with his 39 1/2″vertical.  Bush has only 4 INT’s in 4 years, along with 13 passes defensed.  Could be a good player down the line.

RD 6 – Pick #186  CB Virginia – Maurice Canady

Canady brings another CB with size to the team.  Not a physical player, but a player with talent that perhaps VJ can bring out.

RD 7 – Pick #227  DE Baylor  –  Shawn Oakman

Oakman is probably worth a flier in the 7th RD.  he could easily end up off the team before the season, but maybe, the light goes on, and he becomes a player.  I’d take tht chance this late in the game.

RD 7 – Pick #231   WR  Illinois – Geronimo Allison

OK, so I really just want to scream Genonimo!!!!!!  Do I take a chance and try to sign him after the draft?  No way!!!

I understand that, but IMO we didn’t need to give up a third and fourth next year to get a WR4. It’s not the end of the world, it just aggravates me is all. I hate trading away picks.

Do they think Stills is soft?
Or our WRs are Parker, Landry, Stills, the Rutgers kid, Whalen and Hazel if we keep 6. We might need 6 with Gase’s system.

I don’t get why everything we do is looked at as a possible mistake. This team is trying to win this year, we’re not building for someday. You don’t sign Mario Williams on a 2 year deal and trade for Maxwell for a long term building project. Why even bother if that’s the case?

I’m not saying Super Bowl but get in the postseason and get it started.

  8. Ken's avatar Ken says:

I get our first 3 picks but this one I don’t get. We need a LB we need some help on D and it is not likely coming in this draft. We now have shorted ourselves 2 picks this year and next

Hey, we have a QB….just an average one. If he doesn’t start getting this team in the end zone after all the pieces they’ve added on offense this year….I don’t want to hear another damn excuse for him.

i agree with you there an average qb on a below average team. but after watching the fins have one of the best qb’s to ever play the game and not win a damn thing i would prefer an average qb on a great team and win that way. pretty sure another great qb went out last yeah as a sb winner and he had a non average year.

  12. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Lou, good call on the trading of next year’s picks with the expectation of comp picks. Another sign we’re trying to win this year.

We don’t even know what our offense will look like this year because we’ve never seen it so Gase is getting his team based on what he’s trying to do. I also don’t think Hazel and Whalen are locks and I’ve never been impressed with Hazel.

  13. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
Except Tannenbaum said they weren’t making moves to win now. So, if you actually believe what team officials say, they are saying they aren’t building to win now.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I thought coach and GM speak is nonsense? LOL

Ross hired Tannebaum to win now. There are pieces in place to win now. That doesn’t mean we’ll have no young talent long term to keep bulding with, we have a lot of young players, but we are not okay with another .500 or worse season and no playoffs. That’s a fact. Ross has said it.

  14. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Except that the NFL has become a lot more pass happy and QB-centric. QBs have more influence on winning and losing now than they ever have.

  15. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Piggy, we addressed defense pretty heavy in FA and we added DBs and LBs in UDFA that made the team last year. But every new draft we tend to write those guys off.

  16. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    It’s true
We have comp picks next year

But seems like we were really willing to give a lot away

We gave away a 4th this year to move up 4 slots in the 2nd round

    And then a 3rd and 4th next year and a 6th

    I don’t really care about the 6th
But it seems like a lot

Maybe caroo turns out to be really good

That is a high price to pay

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We traded a 4th and 6th this year, and a 3rd and 4th next year for an extra 3rd this year. You’re saying it like we didn’t get an extra 3rd this year so it looks worse. Then if our projection is right, we get a 3rd and 4th next year in comp picks. I think they expect a 7th as well.

I told you we could very well target guys we want rather than just stand still and have a bunch of late round picks.

i dont think any team in the 3rd round of the draft is picking players to ‘win now’. that is what FA is for. not 3rd draft picks

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      These aren’t bad players
I just expected defense to be a bigger focus
And I’m not sure how we can compete with the current status of our D

      We will see
      Maybe coaching makes a difference

I can’t say drake & caroo are bad players

But when we gave up that 4th to move up
We put ourself in a corner where we had to take a RB in the 3rd

There are good RBs on the board right. Ow
That will be gone by the 4th

We probably could have stayed at 42
Kept the 4th and take a defensive player in the 3rd
      Maybe even 2

Then went after the RB and WR in the 4th and 5th

I don’t get putting defense on the backburner

  27. If you like Landry you have to really like Carroo. It’s only my opinion but I think Carroo is a better prospect than Landry was when we drafted him. Imagine when we go 4 wide with Landry, Parker, Stills and Caroo. Gonna be nice.

  28. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    lol just looked up irony

lou saying ‘Imagine when we go 4 wide with Landry, Parker, Stills and Caroo. Gonna be nice.’ but he thinks the qb is god awful.

  29. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

After getting Caroo I’m a little surprised, I had actually turned off the draft. I thought about the Drake pick wondering what they were thinking, then I thought I had it figured out and they bring in Caroo. We surely have some playmakers, Miller who?

I don’t think we’ll be a traditional running team this yr, the pass blocking Tunsil, the speedy RB that can catch, and a faster almost as scrappy Landry type of player, and we’re going to open up the playbook.

I don’t think I’m going to recognize this team, they’ve surely changed. A pressuring D, and a wide open O.

  30. we decided to go in a certain direction and I’m good with that. I wanted to upgrade our LB unit because of what we’ve got there but it’s apparent the team decided it had a vision for the offense and that’s the way they decided to go. we are giving Gase and Tannehill every opportunity to succeed this year with what we’ve done so far and get the offense what it needs to score more points.
maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, but I can’t fault the team for saying “let’s at least try and be good or very good in at least one area” and that area seems to be on the offensive side of the ball. there’s still cuts to come that may help us. so, I’m fine with what we’ve done. can’t complain one bit.

like i said, i dont judge the player. i know the fins front office knows way way way more then i about any player. and no matter how much film all of you watch they still watch more and know more. all in my most humblest of opinion i can go by is what position of need i think the fins need. and i dont think wr was one. but i am not a part of the brain trust the the offense they are going to run. can only hope they know what they are doing. i will say, i think giving up future draft picks sucks but hopefully they know what they are doing

Caroo and Landry on the field together means the Defense does not know which is going in the slot or line both up as slot and give Tannehill two quick options, both of whom will stiff-arm you, hand fight for the ball, and run right into your CB on purpose to get an extra yard. Teams will hate playing us. And then if you lock them down Drake and Ajayi are both excellent hands catchers out of the backfield with Parker and Jordan Cameron outjumping your guys in the seams.

Why worry about the Defense? We have 3 DL with 4 pro-bowls each. One was the #1 overall and another was the #2 overall pick in their drafts. We have the D-RoY at LB and a Baby Legion of Boom at safeties and CBs. Ok LB is still a bit shaky, but Misi will hurt you when he hits you and Jenkins is fast. And so is Hewitt. I say our D just needs a rising star DC oh wait Vance is a man on a mission to become a HC and he is gonna drive these guys to play outta their minds on the D.

So what are all these holes we have after the trade we made with PHI, then FA and adding 4 picks the first two days of the draft?

Also we’re now all annoyed about day 3 picks? Yet some here talk about them like they’re nothing but camp fodder until we trade them. LOL

I guess I view the draft process different than a lot of you. I would rather target players than just look at picks as picks and we need them all.

I don’t think the defense was horrible. Statistically they were more middle of the pack. The offense also hung them out to dry a lot. The defense was the only reason we were even in several games. I’m not saying they played great, but they weren’t horrible either.

Lou, we addressed mostly defense in FA. We added more vets to a team that was too green last year. We’re building the offense more through the draft.

We already had some good talent on the team, people act as if we have no players and I don’t get it.

  44. New Age's avatar New Age says:

This is exactly what Tannenbaum did in NY. He mortgaged the future for some short term success. In 2007, 4 picks total. 2009, 3 picks total. 2010, 4. Most teams are built in the draft. Mike Tannenbaum isn’t responsible and so he wastes picks…because it doesn’t cost him anything. A gambler who plays with other people’s money at the table. How often do they win? How often do they care when they don’t?

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s looking at it like we have no good young players on our team already but we do.

Are we trying to win or are we just going to keep rolling with developmental players and build forever like we did under Ireland? I really don’t get why people don’t like aggressiveness to win as opposed to what we’ve been.

  48. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
The more picks you got…the more chances you have to get a really good player…or even just a good player. Every pick you give away is one less chance at a player that could be a significant contributor. You can’t build through the draft with 4 or 5 picks a year….unless you’re hitting on every pick.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We just picked 4 players in the first two days, we went in with 3. You’re worried about tomorrow’s 4th and 6th and a 4th next year because the 3rds are a wash – we just got one a year early with what we just did? We still have a 5th and two 7ths tomorrow and that equals 7 picks which is what every team gets each year.

We’re banking on those comp picks next year to fill next year’s 3rd and 4th voids, and yeah it might be risky, but I’m guessing we crunched that formula pretty well.

If they’re right next year we will have a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and two 7s next year. So where is the void?

  49. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

Why not trade our 2017 picks? They are worth less because they will be picks in the high 20s. Plus we will get comp picks to replace them.

  54. the other thing is they have a plan for the way they want to use guys in the offense. thus the Drake pick. so unlike the past when you had Ireland picking guys and saying “here’s what you’ve got to work with” they picked guys that are going to work within the framework of the offense. they have a plan for how they are going to use Drake’s specific skill set.
we lost 2 wr’s when we let Matthews walk and cut Jennings and the wr’s needed an upgrade there because we only had 3 guys and then everyone else who was fighting it out. Carroo gives us that 4th weapon now and he’s solid. He’s another red zone threat and he’s another guy with great hands. 3 drops in his career at Rutgers.
So, when a team has a plan and gets the guys in the draft who fit what they want to do you can’t argue with it. It would be a different story if we were just picking guys to fill holes but we didn’t do that. Gives you some comfort that the brass and coaching staff worked so well together to make this happen. A lot of people will be talking about how well we did in this draft for weeks to come.

What I always said about Ireland was he never understood team-building.
He drafted random shiny toys with no attention to where they fit in the plan.

worth a re-post. just maybe lets all hope just maybe the peoples paid to do this do know more then those here.

We badly needed a better OL. We have that.
We needed to replace Lamar with another homerun hitter. Done.
We needed to replace OV with a great pass rusher. Done.
We needed a dynamic MLB who can read an offense’s tendencies. Done.
We needed to tackle way better on D. Done.
We needed a high energy HC instead of a piece of wet white bread. Done.
We needed a DC with a nasty attitude. Done.

Win win and win!!!! We should all be delirious about trading 1 pick for 3 starters.
Not just any 3 either — the #1 best player this year, the defensive rook of the yr, and the Legion of Boom Super Bowl Winner.

      Win Win and Win!!!!

Ok, now I’m convinced someone hacked Lou’s account 😛

  61. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Exactly Naples, that’s what I’ve said about Ireland. He didn’t know how to build a team he was just acquiring talent, with no particular thoughts about how they may be used.

  62. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Lou, you caught me off guard. I thought you’d be down on what we’re doing but you and Naples and I see it the same way. It’s about a plan and targeting specific players and building a team rather than just picking a guy all the time when you’re up. We’ve been there done that too and it hasn’t worked.

I just pointed out to Randy that we will finish with 7 picks by tomorrow if we stay at 5 and our two 7s. Then the comp pick projection next year will give us 8 to start again yet people are saying we traded all our picks away. Not true! LOL

    • Now I think everyone may understand why every time Grier was asked about picking certain players his answer was “we’re going to pick the best player for our team” because that’s the way you do it. You have a plan for what you want to do on offense and defense and then you look at the players in the draft who give you the best chance of achieving your goal. I’ve been saying for the longest time, you don’t pick for need. You pick the talent that puts your team in the best position to win. I believe that’s exactly what we saw happen over these past two days.
You had a front office and scouts working together with the coaching staff, an entire organization working together, and they picked the players THEY wanted that fit what they wanted to do on both sides of the ball rather than just picking up some guys who filled holes or needs. This is the way it’s done and we’re going to see that come to fruition when we see the finished product.
I’m excited once again to see how this offense is going to play on Sundays.

  64. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Thanks Naples. I don’t think some of our fans have the math right with our picks because they’re too busy bashing what we did. LOL

Now I’m not saying everything we’ve done will result in great success, but this is how we’re going about it and we’re not pissing away picks. But we better be right on the comp picks next year or there will be a void.

    • As soon as I saw the picks from next year that we traded I said to myself they already know we’re looking at a 3rd, 4th and 7th next yr. They’re pretty confident in it and that’s good enough for me. These guys seem to have their shit together.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I thought the same thing and thought of you. LOL

People say nobody knows how the comp formula works or that damn QB rating. Well yeah actually people do know how it works and that’s how they get to it. LOL

My guess is Tannenbaum knows how it works or he has a dept. that deals with that and they know the formula. It’s not that complex in a layman’s way – it’s about gains vs. losses, contract numbers and some other variables with performance.

They better be right or they will have egg on their face.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

When the new season started we had major holes all over the field, didn’t sign any of the top 4 FAs we had, nor did we have much cap space, and we still filled all the holes. Kudos to the FO and coaching staff.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I know. I asked what are the holes and nobody answered. We don’t have any holes. We may not have the best talent everywhere, of course not, but this team does have talent and potential talent on the way.

      Watch the roster.

  66. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I see Walker still has his thumb down for the Howard pick. It’s hard for him to bring it up, because he’s got it so far up his ass…

  67. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I know I’m up late, that’s how it is right now. 🙂

Howard has really good coverage skills – he’s a very aggressive player and will hit and tackle. He’s not perfect but he reminds me of a 2015 Josh Norman.

  68. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He is another Landry. We’re taking a page out of the Pats book with tough guys to cover all over the place. Then you have Parker who could become elite and Stills with his speed.

  69. uwantwat's avatar uwantwat says:

Tim… I think you have nailed it with the Pats reference. Tanny will have a real choice now. Those 4 WRs plus Cameron plus Ajayi and Drake. He has never had weapons like this and standing behind a proper OL. Piggy needs to bring the chonch horn out so we can have a blow of it.

  70. jetsssuck's avatar jetsssuck says:

Well it wasn’t a dream, I’m still pissed.Everything lined up perfectly in the universe and the fins passed on Derrick Henry then to make matters worse they picked up the change of pace Alabama rb who played back up to Henry with several plays designed for his shiftiness or when both played in backfield he would split wide and Henry ran through the hole previously occupied where LB was covering the RB splitting out…I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think so this time. We blew the greatest chance to turn this franchise around in the last 10-12 years.

I’m more upset about next years picks
And the trade value we received

I bet we even trade one if the 3 picks we have left for a pick next year

  73. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    Tim:
This team has huge holes. It needs at least 2 LBs, it needs another CB and another S. I also think we need a DE. We addressed OL and RB but still too many holes and not enough picks to fill them.

Rock we will easily pass 3000 comments today.

  75. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Caroo is a good prospect (maybe not a good person) he may be productive but I can’t see giving up 3 picks to get him. That is what bothers me about the selection more than anything

  77. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Ken

I do t think we have holes per se
I think we have subpar talent at LB and in the secondary
And we are on the cusp of problems there

    It’s semantics I guess
    But there are bodies there

    Just a lot of ifs

  80. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

WOW!!! I guess I went to sleep a little too early.

This is the way I’ve chosen to look at the moves we made. It’s all good if these players play well for us. Picks are there to make the team better, and if the guys we traded up for help us do do that, than it’s fine. It’s all a crapshoot anyway, so we just put some more chips down on certain situations. I like Caroo, it will be interesting to see how he fits in. Thinking about the trio of Parker, Landry and Caroo is exciting. Badass! I also relent on the Xavien Howard pick. So what we gave up a 4th. If he’s great for us, that’s all that counts. They identified the players they wanted, and they got them. Good for them

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Howard I understand but Caroo seems like a luxury pick to me and we gave up way too much to get him

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

“Seems” – I’m not a huge fan of Stills, and this could potentially give us a very dangerous trio of WR’s.

  82. Ken's avatar Ken says:

I will be the first to say it – LC 3

  83. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

I like Carroo (It’s easy to spell)
Looks just like a Landry clone!
    NO RUNNING OUT OF BOUNDS!!!
    Good hands
    Blocks downfield!

  84. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Mike E I like Stills and thought he played well last year. He was very good at getting open deep. LC 3 is a different type of WR much more like Landry than Stills

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think Stills is an “eh” player. Carroo seems badass, and Landry is too, and Parker has tons of talent. I like bringing toughness to the offense, especially considering our TE is a puss. lol

  85. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

I’ll take 20 more Landry clones on this team!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

No doubt I was thinking the same thing it’s like he likes making trades just to make trades he’s pretty well documented that I do not like Tannenbum but I hope we succeed despite his presence

  89. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Mike E Stills is an excellent deep threat and with him we had 3 quality WRs. LC3 is not the deep threat Stills is. Big difference in speed between the 2 which is why to me this is a luxury pick

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

We weren’t looking for speed, we’re looking for a guy who wants the ball more than the defender, and then wants extra yards more than the defender wants to tackle him. Stills is a softy. I didn’t like when we traded for him in the first place. He was targeted 63 times, and has 27 catches. I know, Tannehill sucks . . . .

  90. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think it’s more like we want 4 reliable wrs rather than stills on the out

I’m think we want another RB too

  91. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I bet after Tannebaum finished last night
He traded his parking ticket for his car
Then he traded his door key for an open door
Then traded his work clothes for pjs
Then he traded his work for bed

    The guy just doesn’t stop

He should join a group or something and talk it out

  93. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Highlights are just that, cherry picking of only too plays, but I like Carrooooooooooo’s he seems like a tough mother f***** goes and gets the ball and tries to get to the end zone every time along with that kid from the German Football League we picked up in free agency who I have been rooting for it looks like we can have an awesome wide receiving Corps. Landry, Parker, Stills, Carrooooo, Tyler Davis: these guys do not drop the ball if it is in their zip code they will catch it we have a tough hard fighting talented wide receiver Corps

  94. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

You can blow the conch for Carroo. Just think of the possibilities. Carrooooooo and Ifoooooooo

  95. uwantwat's avatar uwantwat says:

Ken…he is the Matthews replacement. Tough SOB with sure hands, exactly what we needed. It must be me but I have never got the fascination with holding onto picks at all costs. To me, if you want a player do a deal and get him, simple as that. I think most of you complaining about the LB corp are not taking into account the improvement that will come from last year’s class. This LB draft class is a weak one IMO, cast your mind back to when we took Eddie Who(Moore) over Boldin. This class is as weak as that one was. 3 low picks is nothing most of them failed to make the cut anyway. We always find an UDFA as well.
