The point is other teams are getting more value for their trades of picks, in one case the pick we traded to them! The less picks we have, the less of a chance we land another Vernon, Miller, and Jones in the 3rd 4th and 5th rounds respectively:
Yeah we have up picks in what I see add the meat of the draft and gathered then up at what usually is the special teams part of the draft.
We turned 3 into 4 the first 2 days and 3 into 5 the 3rd day. I’m not getting your point? We have more picks then what we started with. Next year’s comp picks are a big part of the equation and we don’t know what that will be yet, but management is banking on a 3rd, 4th and a 7th next year which replenishes our voids from the trade this year,

Grant isn’t just a straight line speed guy, he has all kinds of moves. reverses the field etc.
He scored 27 TDs in college. If could pull a Ted Ginn on the road at the Meadowlands once a year and just not royally screw up the other returns, he’d be worth a 53 spot.

We got some good players but we overdrafted on just about all of them after round one. Must have been too hard on Tannen after round one to keep his excitement in check. At least we bamboozled some teams for their weighty 6th and 7th rounders. Banking on those…

Where did Seattle get most of their secondary? Where did we get Reshard Jones?(5th). Where did Dumervil, Sitton, B Marshall, Geno Atkins, Henry Melton, etc go? In the 4th where we also didn’t have a pick. You find a lot more top talent when you actually have the picks than when you don’t. Why did we trade that 4th again? Oh, yeah for the guy that would have been there anyways.
He’s a bad drafter. Hopefully, Gase can get past his gambling just to gamble but Tannenbaum is a bad drafter. And he got rid of the guy who must not have been a yes man.

Grier’s board is doing the drafting. They decided the next 125 prospects all have 6th, 7th and UDFA grades on them, why not maximize our chances with a few extra picks and play from here. It’s really not a big deal. Tannenbaum isn’t pulling the strings today, he’s involved with the big stuff.
