Game Wrap Up with The Little Prawn: Dolphins @ Patriots, Week 2

dolphinsfail

Okay, you haven’t heard from the Little Prawn in some time.  He is a quiet little shellfish, especially when his Dolphins lose.

But like all Dolfans, he still watches the game –

questioning what he is doing with his life.

And hoping the Dolphins will finally get out of this rut.

sadfanvcheats

So, like the rest of you,  the Little Prawn watched the game excited at the chance to take a big division game.

Things were looking up for Dolphins fans at 12:59 P.M.

We knew that Brady was out for his part in a cheating scandal you may have heard Patriots fans whine about.

But Rob Gronkowski was also out.

So the Dolphins were set to take on Jimmy Garoppolo and an undermanned Patriots team.

But then it happened…

hogancatch

The same thing that always happens…

The Dolphins looked like a high school tam playing a pro team.

The offense had 2 very quick three and outs.

The headsets didn’t work right!

Ryan Tannehill looked like he was confronted with something he just didn’t understand.

tannyconfused

And before he threw 3 passes the Patriots had thrown 3 TDs.

Jimmy Garrappolo looked all world.  Dissecting the Dolphins zone.

Here Prawny musters up the energy to point out that

THE GODDAM RECEIVER IS BEHIND YOU HOWARD!!!

howarddhogan

The Patriots exploited the weaknesses in our passing defense early and got ahead of the Dolphins fast!

It was like the Dolphins could not do anything right.

They could not get a first down.

They could not complete a pass.

They could not get any yards on the ground.

In fact, for the 2nd week in a row, the Dolphins were not able to gain much on the ground most of the game.

It turns out Ryan Tannehill is the team’s leading rusher through two weeks…OUCH!

The Patriots scored often and early through the air

But they ran well too

by the end of the game Legarret Blount would rush for 123 yards.

The Dolphins could not stop him.

Here Prawny demonstrates that this:

IS NOT HOW TO MAKE A FUCKING TACKLE!!!

blountrun

Things were so bad that Martellus Bennett told the Foxboro Media that he was having the best time of his career.

And you can understand why –

It seemed at times like the Dolphins defense wasn’t aware they should cover him.

Miami Dolphins v New England Patriots

But…

their was a glimmer…

There is nothing more inspiring then causing an injury to a team you hate in Prawny’s world.

Especially when that team’s entire offense in made up of guys that dress like they shop with Justin Bieber.

garopolohurt

And Garoppolo goes down!

Jimmy Garoppolo

Awwwwwww

While New England mourned at the loos of their latest star child

The Little Prawn yelled at the screen “I hope your brain bleeds out of your ears you fuck!”

Bill Belicheat apparently could not figure out a way to break the rules and get out of the rest of the game.

So he turned to someone named Jacoby Brissett

Miami Dolphins v New England Patriots

Who?  In this photo The Little Prawn points out a coach who is probably more uncomfortable than a Monday Night Football Audience listening to the sound of Charles Woodson’s voice.

Seriously, does Charles Woodson eat live frogs.

What is going on with his voice?

He sounds like a muppet who just hit puberty

But back to the game.

The Patriots were able to avoid a disaster by avoiding mistakes.

But

Ryan Tannehill, Jabaal Sheard

Ryan Tannehill looked in control the entire 2nd half.

We’ve seen Tannehill compile stats in garbage time before.

But there was something different on Sunday.  He passed for almost 400 yards.  But who cares about the yardage.

The game was in our grasp.

The Dolphins were a play away from the win and the passing game…

it looked like a machine.

landrycatchvcheats

Landry and Parker both had over 100 yards receiving.

And there were TD passes to guys that dropped crucial passes last week.

Both Stills and Cameron had TD passes.

It helps that the QB was hitting the tiniest windows.

CameronTD.jpg

In the end.

it didn’t matter.

The Dolphins lost again.

but….

there may be hope for the 2016 Dolphins.

….stop me if you think you heard this one before…

it doesn’t matter…you are gonna watch next week anyway

try to enjoy it.

Prawny is willing to do whatever it takes.

Steve that system totally negates pass rush. People just have never gotten wise to how to stop them.
    _______________________________________
I can’t completely agree with this. If the system was so great why are not 32 teams using it? It’s been out there long enough for everybody to copy it if they wanted to. Also we have seen great pass rushes create havoc for the Pats in the past. Ask the Giants or hell even Cam Wake when he made Brady cry.
    ——————————————————
The thing is they have 3 receivers who can all do it, and they all line up from any position and can run any route from that position. Not many teams build this way, because not many teams have Tom Brady, or from what i have seen early on, Garapolo.

When Garapolo came out of college, i might have been one of the few fan faovites of him. I think M13 had similar feelings but insisted he would be draft too high for us to consider. He was right in that respect and we didnt need to use a second rounder to get him, so it is what it is, but what i saw in the kid that i wanted for us was that he made great decisions o his trows, the throws were crisp and he put them in great position. To be certain i had no desire to unseat Tanny at the time because he was still on the upswing when Grapaolo was drafted, but still thats his game to perfection, quick decisions, fast release, perfect position on throws. He and Brady do the same things well, and the result is, that offense and the midget, speedy receiving core they have is a perfect fit for it.

Thats why they do it and no one has been able to copy them. Green Bay is pretty close, Giants sorta kinda run similar system with similar build to their receiving core, but they are just now getting there.

If you don’t play physical against those little receivers at the line of scrimmage they’ll do that to you all day. I remember when the ravens beat the pats in the playoffs a few years ago, they hit those receivers hard every time any of them touched the ball and they would be very physical at the line of scrimmage. Our CBs were 10 yards off them this last game. Let them do whatever they wanted all day. You’re not gonna beat those guys playing soft. Our coaches should know better

  6. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

    nice job piggy!

BTW the photos of the soft defense you posted last night reminded me of Coyle bend don’t break defense. Didn’t Gase say something about our defense playing aggressive this year? This defense is far from being aggressive.
Why do Miami coaches go into fetal position and ask for their mommy when they play the pats?

Stills was open, Cameron throw was forced into very tight coverage from both sides, that’s how both defenders banged helmets on that one. That was a very precise throw.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It was a good throw though

      Maybe the bar is low…lol

By it was in a place where Stills didn’t have to turn back

      The Cameron TD was perfect
There are many other food throws in the 2nd half that weren’t TD passes

I really thought it was a very good half for him

I don’t need him to make 20 great passes in the 2nd half
I need him to make precise 3rd down throws so the receiver doesn’t have to turn back to make the catch

And keep drives alive throughout the game

That is what we need from him going forward
Not just a great half of football

  13. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Boulder,
The frustrating thing to watch from a scheme standpoint is the cushions underneath for sure.
If you are not talented enough to play disciplined high or low, to me you gamble on the underneath stuff and force the throws over the top. It is the least accurate throw to make. Conversely, the short routes are the most accurate so it drives me nuts when coaches in a scheme give up the underneath route for fear of a deep pass (give up the highest % throw for the lowest? INSANE!).

    • Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Did you notice when Jimmy started throwing deep as the Fins applied pressure underneath and missing repeatedly? That was right before Kiko KO’d him.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I have no idea why VJ called the defense the way he did in the 1st half. He changed it to more press in the 2nd.

      • Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

I’ll chaulk it up to feeling out the new guys and to VJ being new to play calling. I’m confident in the new coaches that they will adapt to what is needed.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

agreed. I just don’t understand that coverage against the pats. Did these guys not watch any film?

  14. D's avatar D says:

Here are some key points about Tanny vs Garapolo.
    71% comp rate.
    67% comp rate.

    8.6 yards per comp.
    8.7 yards per comp.

    2TD/2INT.
    3TD/0INT.

So if you want me to assess just from statistics what can be seen. Id have to say, see other stats. Here are the “other” stats.

    Team PD.
    NE 5
    MIA 1

    Team INT
    NE 2
    MIA 0

    Rush yds.
NE 161, 4.2 avg. RB was lead rusher.
MIA 70, 4.4 avg. QB was lead rusher.

These all add up to NE’s secondary playing aggressive, and playing tighter coverage. It also shows that their LB’s were better in coverage. Since most of their big runs were to the outside, it shows we arent performing the wide 9 well at all, most of which would be on the LBers, but some also on the secondary who should be playing press, so they should be closer to the line and assisting with runs. Im not sure what our expectations were with playing off-man coverage, when our defensive scheme is not made for it and NE’s offense is designed to destroy it.

I still don’t feel that stats tell you shit. Suh was dominant, his stats support it. Misi and Alonzo weren’t, but their stats say they played well, though i do think Alonzo had some good moments to go with the bad ones. Warmsley’s stats dont show much but he was ballin’. You really have to trust your eyes, more than the stats but you can also piece together some things looking at stats in their entirety.

This week we need, more tempo, more aggression on defense. Double A gap blitz the fuck out of the 3rd string QB they have in there now. Molest the fuck out of their WR’s for the first 5 yards. Get Drake involved more, try to find some balance with the running game but keep them on their heels while doing it.

    Opening Odds & Computer Pick

Odds at sportsbooks such as Bovada had the Miami Dolphins pegged as -7-point favorites in this betting matchup. The total, meanwhile, was listed by books like TopBet at 42.5.

Odds Shark computer prediction formulas pick a 28-13 win for the Dolphins on Sunday.

  17. D's avatar D says:

Gase needs to alter his offensive game plan. He needs to go up tempo early, and settle into a controlled offensive scheme once we have established a good lead and need to grind out the clock. I wouldn’t mind it being uptempo all day but the players do need to not to be running tempo even after it isnt necessary. Its smarter to me that you do it early before your players had played a half and are somewhat tired. It also helps us establish an offensive identity and rythm before kicking it down a level. Tanny seems more confidant running it than the other as well. I hope he starts the game with tempo from now on.

No matter what his decision is, though, he really needs to alter the plan as soon as it seems it isnt working. He holds on to it too long and isnt making the adjustments soo enough and i can say with confidence i feel it had been part of the cause for the two losses. To a smaller extent game 1, but to a fairly large extent this last game.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Wasn’t that the gripe we had against philbin? He didn’t adjust the game plan quick enough during the game? It must be the water in Miami or something.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Like Al just said about VJ, and what I was saying yesterday, I believe the coaches are still learning the players and team overall. The coaches and many of the players have not played many games or been through a season together. I know fans are tired of not having a successful team, but this is what happens when you start over even if it was necessary to do so.

  18. D's avatar D says:

Garapolo’s downside is his deep game. He is not a deep ball receiver, he has a limited arm and his decisions and accuracy tail off once you get outside about 20 yards. We should have been forcing him to play to that weakness, press man on the outside, shallow safeties, taking away the underneath zone, force the desire to throw deep because of the man coverage and then come at him hard with the pass rush. Would have been a completely different game.

  19. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

So how are the Dolphins going to game plan against Isiah Crowell?

  20. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    D,
    For sure!
Get physical at the line with the WR and take away all inside lanes.
The hardest throw to make are the out throws.
One scheme that I love seeing from a DC like Capers is the one where he places the safeties between the Y-Z & X split TE receiver at a medium to shallow depth in the shape of a triangle between the S-OLB-CB. This formation leaves the middle area behind the LB open but ANY S can run across the slant route to defend off the snap and the QB is left wondering what the fuck the S is going to do and what is going to happen within the triangle formation.

    • Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

      Regarding the Fins LB…
There still seems to be lots of hesitation at the point of attack by guys like Jenkins & Kiko.
That pass that Jenkins allowed with his back to the QB on a short inside route that went right over his shoulder as the WR was trying to adjust to his position in front of the pass drove me nuts!

I don’t think we’re bad, played 2 teams that have been almost unbeatable at home, and had a chance to win both in the last minute. But that’s not what I’m excited about, you have to be able to play low and high scoring games. I’ve seen RT go off and I’ve seen the D go off to where on any given Sunday we can get it done.

  25. Ken's avatar Ken says:

    Tim:
It’s the coaching staff’s job to know their players at the start of the season. Otherwise it’s just an excuse for giving games away

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

That’s not really realistic though Ken. You have to see what the guys you have can do in the schemes and positions the coaches put them in. They just don’t practice enough to really have a handle on what guys are capable of and not capable of. It takes a little time.

      • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

How did the Jets win 10 games last year with a new coach and new scheme? I agree with Ken. Its an excuse.

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

That’s what film study is for. There is coaching turnover every year. Many of the coaches figure out their players before the season starts. The ones that don’t usually don’t last long

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

What Mike said. This team has no experience with each other. They’re now getting a lot of film on the players and make adjustments as they go. The coaches also make adjustments with themselves as they learn what we do well and what we don’t.

Not saying we don’t have to win games, that’s the main objective. Just trying to be realistic about all the new we have. Let’s hope we start cleaning up some things and play better sooner than later.

The Jets have a lot of solid veterans on defense, and they relied on that defense pretty heavy, but at the end, their offense wasn’t good enough to get them in the playoffs.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

You shouldn’t need a few games to figure out your players. You got enough film on every player to know what you have. There are many examples of new coaches and GMs being successful their first year. As Ken said, the ones that don’t, won’t last long.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

They also started out 4-1 last year then they were 5-5 as fans started to doubt Bowles before they won 5 in a row but lost the most important game of their season at the end and missed the playoffs. Teams have different seasons.

  28. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Ken

I believe it’s talent too. I think the jets from last year had more talent than we have this year on defense, and while I think we have some better offensive pieces, in general, their O-line was a better run blocking unit, and Marshall and Fitz and Decker had a good chemistry. I think Tannehill is getting there with Parker and Landry, but we need more, we need to run the ball effectively.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It wasn’t 10 yards all the time, sometimes it was like 5 but we didn’t play a lot of press in the 1st half and I don’t why either.

  33. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Yeah, learning the players is valid to an extent. We heard all offseason of the things we were going to do and when we’ve had two games, we just didn’t do them until it was too late.

Gase was gonna bring a running game to balance the pass game. We were gonna go uptempo.
Defense was going to be an aggressive press defense. That’s why we brought in all these big corners.

It’s okay to say they didn’t come into games with good plans to start, but they did well at adjusting. They just didn’t do enough to finish the teams off. It’s inexperience at the coaching positions in gametime situations and gameplanning on a new level waaay more than it is the coaches not knowing what these players can do. People at home can see these things and the coaches have a better look at them.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

In the NFL, new coaches have to be successful their first 2 years. If not by 3rd year the players know the coaches are coaching for their jobs and many times they check out and that’s the end. Spending half the first season trying to figure out your players usually is recipe for disaster for new coaches.

  36. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

You have to look at this team and all the units and who’s playing where and why?

As for Gase bringing balance with the running game, he tries to run it and we get less than 3 YPC from our backs. Do you want to see that all day or do you want us to try and win the game as we try to get better running the ball. We’re not a good running team right now.

If we run it 30 times for 75 yards I can hear the fans say we couldn’t run well so why did we keep doing it, we should have passed more. Hindsight is a crazy thing and a lot that goes on in games is not that easy to determine from the TV, just saying.

    • Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

I said this during the Philbin years but running is more than just getting a good amount of net yards. It tires down DL and LB who have to crash into backs and OL in pursuit of running backs. 30 times for 75 yards is not efficient in the context of gaining yardage but 30 times at the DL is tiring to them and the more you can pound it.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

If you have a lead yes, if you’re not scoring but just running in the name of balance that’s not productive. Are we picking up 3rd and short a lot of the time, no! So the efficiency of the runs isn’t there either. We got to get better at it.

  37. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

    —————————————————–
Jenkins never looked back on that play, he turns his head and we would have had nother turn over and likely they would have scored one less TD. He was in perfect position, had great coverage, just never looked back. I saw Kiko commit to the run pretty quickly this game, problem is he couldnt bring down Blount, and his tackling fundamentals were poop. He just looks small now. I remember when he played for the Bills he may not have been much heavier but he looked more muscular and thicker. He cant tackle a guy like Blount high, he just got bowled over. I was most disappointed though when he came screaming through the gap on a blitz and couldnt bring down Garapolo. That was some weak shit imo. Im going to hop he is still just adjusting and it will kinda work itself out, because i have seen flashed of how good he could be in our system, but there are a lot of disappointments as well.

I understand what Gase meant saying the CLE game isn’t a must win, because there are 13 games left after that. For fans and pundits it’s a death sentence though. But what if you win 5 in a row and now you’re 5-3?

Believe me losing to CLE in our home opener won’t sit well with me at all. But again, there are still 13 games to be played. It’s still a numbers game at that point.

    • D's avatar D says:

I look at it like this, home opener, against one of the worst teams in the league, on their 3rd string QB, isnt going to send any warm fuzzies that make us think everything is going to be ok. So in a sense, its a must win, because if we can win with those kind of advantages, what makes you think we can turn shit around against teams who wont be at such disadvantages….. its not a positive spin negative spin scenario, its a reality check, if we cant beat them we have a big problem.

      • D's avatar D says:

logistically i see how 0-3 doesnt mean we cant turn around and be 13-3, KC did a really good job of turning things around, but really do you think if we get beat by the Browns, we are going to make a major turn around, through the rest of the season with the strength of schedule we still have left to face?

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s how I will feel. But again, what if all of a sudden it does turn around? The Chiefs started off 1-5 last year and finished 11-5 with a playoff win. The Jets last year started off 4-1 then lost 4 of the next 5 before winning 5 in a row but fell short losing to BUF at the end missing the playoffs. Seasons aren’t necessarily go 0-2, 2-0, 1-1, 1-1… etc. Teams go on runs or losing streaks for all sorts of reasons. There isn’t a set formula.

Of course we expect and want to see us get our first win against CLE in our home opener.

  41. D's avatar D says:

So disappointed in Ajayi, he gets a chance to redeem his pity party attitude, that he had because the Coach wants a sure handed RB, and then he straight out fumbles the ball. Man, i mean kinda would think he would have really put a bunch of effort into trying to focus on securing the ball with that much riding on it.

  42. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    I hear you D but…Meh

Attitude and fumble and not related

    One is in your control
The other is just a mistake
It’s not like he wanted to fumble

He’s not moving up the depth chart though based on the combination

    I think it’s possible I underestimated Drake
Drake has a chance to be a #1 RB

  43. D's avatar D says:

3 QB’s have more rushing yards than any of our RB’s, one of which is our own QB.

  44. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I would feel a lot better about the direction of this team if we cleared up the situation at RB without needing the 2017 draft

I know the draft class at RB in 17 is good

But I would prefer we focus on defense in 17
Give me LBs, pass rushers and cbs in 17 please

But to achieve that we really need Ajayi or Drake to show they can be a #1 RB
It would be great if by December Ajayi and Drake were 1 and 2

I like Foster – but Foster is not the future

    • D's avatar D says:

Right now im looking at next years draft as BPA between CB/LB and DE, with consideration on which position seems deepest. Its a pretty deep LB group from what i have seen so far. CB is decntly deep if the underclassmen expected to declare all declare.RB is a little more shallow but i dont think we are as needy there, but we have to see how Drake pans out. DE is really not very deep at all, shockingly shallow and big gap between the top guys and the next tier. I would think we would be more force to address DE early than the other positions. We could get a stud LB in the second this coming year. CB I think CB is not very top heavy either but i like some of the guys in the second tier. Id love to have Jalen Tabor, much of the same skills as Hargreaves, but bigger bodied. Some pretty solid safety prospects too.

I think we could do pretty well at RB wth someone in the 3-4th round like Jalen Hurd out of UTenn. Big powerful back with some nice wheels.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

If no one steps up at RB this year we can always get one in day 2

But if we have 3 picks (I know we might have more) it would be nice if all 3 were defense

It would be nice to have the kind of draft to make a dramatic difference on defense
We have some pieces on D we can build around with young players

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think he is the kind of playmaker we could use

Obviously one player isn’t gonna make a defense great

But we shit the bed at LB this offseason

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I think it’s too premature. It also wasn’t a good LB draft. Many of the guys talked about are backups, are inactive or on practice squads.

The jets will gladly trade lee for tunsil 🙂 I think they were trying hard to get in front of us and take tunsil.

    • D's avatar D says:

IMO Lee wasnt worth a 1st and despite how good he may or may not have looked in that game, he still wasnt worth a 1st. Deion Jones is having a better year so far, and he was a second rounder. I would have much rather had him than Lee. Tunsil was obviously a pick that we should not have overlooked, given our OL woes, but Howard in a trade up over Jones….. i dunno. We did need CB but i think we probably needed LB more.

  51. D's avatar D says:

For what its worth, i already see these guys as elite LB prospects next year, just to give you an iea of how good this calss is going to be.

Reuben Foster, Jarrad Davis, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Kendell Beckwith, Alex Anzalone, Richie Brown, Charles Harris, Tim Williams. and thats just from the SEC. I havent really looked deeply at any of the other prospects although i know that Walker guy from Washington is supposed to be really good too.

  52. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We have to give young players a chance to get better. You can’t focus on the draft all the time then when we draft prospects and play them don’t expect some growing pains.

  53. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Our secondary concerns me more than our LB’s. McCane did not play well at all and the stupid PF penalty was uncalled for. Maxwell looked like shit, no effort and Howard looked OK, but could have been roasted for a TD if JimmyG hadn’t over thrown his man. The wide open receivers this past sunday were more on the DB’s than the LB’s even though everyone was bitching about the LB’s.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Been saying it since the game. The DL got no pressure early and the back end looked sluggish the entire 1st half. Everyone was running around likes what’s happening? We were so off it was depressing. The secondary allowed most of the chunk yardage, not the LBs.

  54. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

    130.8 & 100.2

the passer rating of the backup QB and the Backup backup QB against our D last sunday.

  55. D's avatar D says:

Tim the DL couldnt get pressure when the CB were playing so deep that there was barley over a second beore e threw the ball. Once they started playing up on the line and stopped giving them 10 yards of cushion, then our pass rush started getting to him. You keep harping on pass rush as being the chicken before the egg and it just isnt. That coverage off the line is crucial, DE’s and DT’s CANNOT get to a QB that fast. Its physically impossible.

    • D's avatar D says:

You MIGHT could get a blitzing LB to the QB that fast if no one is available to block him, but when you blitz you also open yourself up to the quick pass to an uncovered guy.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I concur. I just posted something similar below.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Garoppolo wasn’t getting rid of the ball that fast. He had time to go to the next level. His OL gave him a pocket and an escape route plenty of times.

By the way it all starts up front, not in the back end.

  57. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Also, when Garapalo was in our pass rush didn’t have a chance. He was getting his passes off under 2.5 seconds because of the cushion our DB’s were giving the WR’s. Hell, he was throwing the ball in his drop back some plays. (before he finished is 3 or 5 step drop)

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I keep saying that

      It wasn’t just the Dbs

  68. D's avatar D says:

Looking at that video of Garapolo’s throws, we were in cover 3 a good bit. Thats really dumb against a quick strike passing game. Cover 2 is pretty dumb as well. They dont have guys who get deep, we should have been in cover 1 most the game, and let Jones fly around blitzing, playing man, etc. Hell we went cover 4 two or three times in the first 14 passes that Garapolo did. Cover 4 is fucking prevent defense. Now if we had been playing press-zone, cover 3 would have been alright, but we played straight zone.

When we switched to press, we started reallt taking the game over on defense. I hope they just go back and look and go working vs not, because its pretty frigging obvious to me when the change started occuring and i can tell when they switched their game plan, and they happened at the same time.

  69. D's avatar D says:

Steve, there were several plays in the first half that Alonzo got burned on in coverage, and a couple that if Garopolo had just held on to the ball longer he woulda gotten burned on. Coverage wise, i really didn’t think he played well. Misi was really bad but we know that. Jenkins had good coverage but had a couple bonehead plays, most specifically the play where he had an easy int but never looked back at the QB. The Amendola TD though, when i looked at it, that was on Alonzo as well. Amendola crossed in front of Alonzo, behind Jenkins. Jenkins never saw him, but had coverage over him underneath. Alonzo should have ran with him to guard him deep, but he bit on Garopolo looking like he was going to scramble, which Jenkins had that covered. When he broke to play the QB, Garopolo just dumped it to Amendola now behind Jenkins, and no one behind him (safeties were deep, it was cover 2)

We don’t have enough to go on yet as to what this team is, if they have the effort things will come around.

    I see adjustments galore though, this isn’t Philbin’s O or Wanny’s vanilla D.

personally I think there is too much focus on what Trump says
and there should be more focus on what he has done

this kind of stuff on your taxes should make some on inelligble to run for President

He screwed NJ even worse with the real estate taxes he owed from the Taj Mahal casino too
    http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/08/report_did_christie_cut_trumps_atlantic_city_casin.html

the name calling the goes on in the election is just par for the course now
but the character of these candidates is a serious issue

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

He’s surely done some things, and that’s what businessmen do, but if you want to disqualify him for what you say here, then no one who’s ever been president should’ve ever been able to run. The bottom line is what can/will either do for the country?

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m pretty sure we have had presidents that didn’t even come close to this

This isn’t just normal run of the mill business practices

its not just cheating on your taxes

this is being sued by the State of NJ after filing bankruptcy for real estate taxes (2nd link) and settling for a much lesser amount

And this is illegally taking charitable contributions to pay off taxes of business taxes

I don’t think this is the norm for a public servant at all

I tend to agree with your bottom line
at the end of the day I think the decision needs to be made on policy

By I really have to question what this particular person says is his policy when most of his life has been spent for his personal gain at the heavy expense of the country (when you don’t pay taxes, it undeniably hurts the country)

Now all the sudden Donald Trump is going to do right for the country when most of his life he has exploited every practice available even do the detriment of the state and federal reserves? I have a hard time believing he is good for the country

I can make similar arguments about Hillary though – I admit that

These two candidates are two very bad candidates
        I can’t say that enough

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

If not paying taxes is bad for the state, then you also have to include the tax dollars his businesses have brought into the state, you can’t just mention the so-called bad things. Again what is the bottom line? We aren’t talking about a political action, so lives aren’t on the line with what he did, if you believe what they say.

If that’s how you feel you really should stop taking what the mainstream media says as word. Lots of videos out there where Trump bashers say exactly what you just said, and not one of them can give examples to back that opinion.

Steve when i see a guy reverse his feelings so dramatically on things, say stuff and then reverse his statements when there is backlash, have a completely different persona in primaries vs general election, et, i just see shady car saleman.

Is he a bigot/racist, is he a philanthropist, is he pro choice, if he pro life; just depends on the time, day and what the polling data tells him to be. I know it can be said all politicians do this, but thats exactly my point, he shows all the signs of the same political shenanigans i have ever seen in other candidates i dont like, so most all the chatter around him, good or bad just gets negated in my mind because im like, same shit different day. He isnt any different, so voting for him believing that he is, is not logical in my opinion.

To be certain, i am definitely not voting for Hillary, but im not voting for Trump because of that, and truthfully i dont know that Gary Johnson has shown me any reason he deserves my vote either. This is about as cocked up a political race as i have ever seen or ever hope to see.

Again people keep saying what he is and can’t give examples to back it up, just makes me believe it’s parrot talk from the liberal media. Voting for a candidate that doesn’t have a chance to win is illogical, and what got us in this Clinton mafia situation in 92.

    D,
I’m mocking Trump supporters. Those aren’t my feelings on Trump.
