also quite frankly, that is probably Arian Foster’s one drop of the year. Cost us a drive, but history shows he does not do that, and he will probably revert to form from here on out. He catches that and not only is it a first down but probably a 15 – 25 yd gainer.

  3. finfanrob says:

Okay, can some one other then the basement dwelling green beast tell me what happened. I appreciate his attempt at humor and all but he said thill made a couple crucial plays and the defense was solid.

  4. naplesfan2010 says:

They got one score off a 30 yard punt return. That will not happen again.

  5. herdfan says:

    We won…nothing else matters.

I agree that Butler has been an improvement at LB

    NFL highlight shows

15 seconds this game, 5 seconds that game,1.2 seconds the other game, 2.7 years talking about the cheats

  8. CavalierKong says:

    Rock,
The Dolphins game was so much fun for me today, I decided to put off watching the Walking Dead until tomorrow because I know what a downer it is going to be.

  9. naplesfan2010 says:

sorry but those links are supposed to show a graph that says Ajayi has 4.11 yds after contact, first in the NFL and second is Jeremy Hill at 3.63, which is significantly less.

ABSOLUTELY THE MOST AWESOME FEST EVER!!–Just got back to Tampa Bay after 300 mile drive from Hard Head! TOTAL BLAST!! Will talk more tomorrow about it. Comeback was spectacular and AJAYI was truly amazing!!

Gonna sleep well tonight!!. HOPE MORE OF YOU will make it to next year’s FEST!!

  11. Ken says:

    FFR:
Here is the real recap. Chef Warren had smoked prime rib. Jahn made awesome beer. Piggy did not get sunburned. I was angry in the first half. The new stadium is nice in the shade. Rock made everyone stand the fuck up and there was a football game.

  12. Ken says:

Hulk needs rest. I am out and peace to you all.

lmfao, good to know I mean you are know different then any one of us, all of us well okay maybe not herd but all of us sleep really fucking well after some hard head

I really liked the throwback uniforms…wish they would just wear those all the time.

  15. manitobafinfan says:

FFR. Outside of a punt block, we outplayed them in all aspects of the game We held McCoy to 11 yrds in 1st half until he left ( i think) hurt Defense had constant pressure on Taylor. And i am pretty sure we dominated TOP , especially if ya toss out their last drive that was extended and aided by numerous penalties. We did take WAY too many penalties again this week. But most were being over aggressive, which is a good trait but again needs to be scaled back a hair. Give them something to work on next couple weeks Jets game cant get here soon enough. Go Phins

  16. finfanrob says:

you fucks should be ashamed of yourselves it took a fucking Canadian to give me a simple recap of the game.

now poor toba is going to be up all night apologizing to himself if he did it right.

    thanks toba

what is wrong with you, you mean you dont like the whale on the helmet?

    • manitobafinfan says:

They also had the old Logo at Midfield and an argyle style design in endzones looked good. Only minus is there is no Hard Rock swag other than 1-2 hats and a pin, also no gameday pins with Bills and Fins logo today. We aim to buy one from each game we attend

  18. herdfan says:

Nothing against manitoba but Ken did a recap for you a while back.

yeah but ken said the defense played good and thill made some plays, we all know that isnt possible. and stop ripping on poor toba, we all know he already hates himself for being Canadian

  20. herdfan says:

Good grief…will someone win this game between Arizona and Seattle already?

  21. olddolphan says:

MIAMI’s reliance on the running game actually brought back a few memories of the ’72 & ’73 seasons. And the crowd’s response also, at times, was ORANGE BOWL WILD & CRAZY!!! – – The guy sitting next to me downstairs was a Buffalo fan who clearly remembered the Bills going “O for the ’70’s!” He said, “I was beginning to think we’d NEVER beat you guys again in my lifetime!” –What a classic statement! from a guy who was around when Miami beat Buffalo 20 STRAIGHT TIMES!!!
    ————
THERE’S A NEW CHAMPION OF THE POOL TABLE! YOUNG STANGER beat your’s truly fair and square and now is the defending champion. We’ll play best 2 of 3 next Fest.
WARRENS’ spread was beyond awesome. Some of us probably put on a couple of pounds, BUT all that was GONE after three hours of yelling and screaming at the game!!
    ———–
I LIKED THE FACT that, this time, Ross hired a YOUNG COACH (GASE) to be head coach. He is roughly the same age Shula was when “The DON” took the Colts to Super Bowl III. –STILL have to judge GASE on the entire season but, at this point, things are looking up.
    ———–
TIME to go to work. Will travel to a convention in South Carolina this week. Next week I’ll be in Baltimore, so it’s back-to-back 7-day weeks for the Old Dolfan. Bring it on!!!!!!! –Again, my sicerest thanks to Young Stanger for putting on this UNBELIEVABLY SUCCESSFUL FEST!! –AND I surely enjoyed each and every one of the participants. Manitoba, the hat fits perfectly!

  22. ukfinfan says:

Can we start to put some names to faces (below)?!? LMAO 😉

Made up for all you festers ……………. great game to watch on tv – it must have been even better live.

The knock I heard on Ajayo (actually heard one announcer call him this) was that his knees were almost worn out before he was drafted. Gulp.

Tankneehill (wtf with his name too?) certainly looks a different QB with time. But then don’t they all? Anyway, this season just got a lot more enjoyable. At least there is the semblance of something to look forward to. Perhaps, just perhaps, this 2-game win-streak could be the first baby-steps back towards relevance and enjoyable Sundays again? God I hope so.

  23. Rockphin says:

Two Miami players made the top 10 lists from PFF this week. Top 10 best performances and top 10 worst performances. They both came in at #1 on the lists. I’ll leave it to you guys to decide who was on which list. LOL!

    1. Jay Ajayi, RB, Miami Dolphins
Miami’s fortunes have been transformed with the shift in focus to running back Jay Ajayi and the running game. For the second week in a row he topped 200 rushing yards, this week rattling off 214 — 129 of which came after contact. He broke 10 tackles on 29 carries, once again running with incredible ferocity and determination and carrying Miami to an upset win within the division over Buffalo, ending the second-longest win streak in the league in the process. Ajayi looked like a force when we visited Dolphins camp this offseason, but now we are finally seeing that in action on the field.

    1. Byron Maxwell, CB, Miami Dolphins
To say that Maxwell is having an up-and-down season would be underselling it. Fresh off one of the best games of his career, Maxwell once again provided the role of theoretical obstacle to the passing game only. In Miami’s win over the Bills, Maxwell gave up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown, allowing 26.5 yards per catch and a passer rating of 141.4 when targeted.

  24. Phindog says:

What a Great day it was yesterday !!! Great Fest.. Great Win !!! What a cool group of people.

  25. BoulderPhinfan says:

The best thing I saw yesterday was when the bills got the TD and we fell behind by 11 they kept running the ball. Years before we’d be back there passing the ball and getting sacked. They kept running the ball and drove down and scored a TD.

If we keep running the ball and playing defense like we did we can win a lot of games.

  26. BoulderPhinfan says:

Ajayi running style reminds me a little of the Bus from the steelers. He runs over people with his massive body.

  27. Tim Knight says:

Ajayi doesn’t waste a lot of time getting going. He sees the lane hits it and either runs around people or over them. Love his style.

  28. Ken says:

Hulk on ground in Connecticut. Hulk sad he miss fest friends but Hulk happy Fins win

    • stangerx says:

Glad it went smooth…..guessing that seemed like the shortest flight ever cause you were asleep before the door closed at the flight attendant had to wake you up and kick you off the plane. 🙂

  29. Rockphin says:

    Cows & Unicorns!

Ding Ding Ding MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We have our bell Cow. Now let’s just keep this cow healthy somehow! (and O-line too)

Ajayi’s ability to break tackles was impressive Sunday. He broke 10 tackles on 29 carries and averaged a ridiculous 4.4 yards after contact.

For perspective, Pro Football Focus said Ajayi has broken as many tackles on 54 handoffs the past two weeks (13) as Dallas’ impressive rookie Ezekiel Elliott has done on 148 touches this season.

    • Ajayi not only leads the league in per carry average, but by a remarkable margin. He’s averaging 6.4 per carry, more than a full yard per carry ahead of LeSean McCoy, who’s second in the league at 5.3. Ajayi, incidentally, is now the league’s sixth-leading rusher with 535 yards.

  30. Rockphin says:

    herdfan says:
    October 24, 2016 at 10:37 am

It’s almost like he doesn’t try to avoid contact but likes to run someone over.

Herd, I forget where I read it this morning but there was a quote from Ajayi saying just that. He likes to bring it to the Defense until he can tell they just don’t want to tackle him anymore. LOL!

    I love this guy.

  31. BoulderPhinfan says:

Omar Kelly ‏@OmarKelly 3m3 minutes ago Davie, FL
To watch Miami’s offensive linemen walk today after another dominant performance is very telling. Their bodies are in pain. Serious pain.

  32. Rockphin says:

Here is an interesting and AWESOME stat.

Ajayi is averaging 4.4 yards per carry AFTER contact.

The guy in front of him in total yardage so far this year are averaging the following TOTAL per carry
    Ezekiel Elliott – 5.1
    David Johnson – 4.7
    DeMarco Murray – 4.6
    LeSean McCoy – 5.3
    LeGarrette Blount – 4.0

Our boy is getting almost as many yards after contact as the rest get their whole run!

He has done it with 28 less carries than the next guy (McCoy) and SIXTY TWO less carries than the guy with the most carries. (Johnson)

He is only 168 yards behind the leader (Elliott) in total yards and has 53 less carries than Elliott.

The fans should all bring cow bells to the came and ring them after Ajayi runs the ball.

(Note I said AFTER the play Mike E, your not supposed to stand the F up and make noise when your offense is on the field until after the play! LOL)

  33. Rockphin says:

We our “physicaled” the other team again for the second week in a row.

This is what the Dolphins envisioned when they put together this defensive line: According to PFF, Bills runners averaged only 1.4 inches before contact and pressured Tyrod Taylor on 19 of 38 dropbacks. This is exactly the type of dominance Miami expected from its d-line.

  34. stangerx says:

Man — only thing that beats a Fest is the smell of napalm in the morning. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate all you folks who come from far and wide for it.

Who has pics? I only took one.

  35. Brian in NY says:

I’m about to board the plane back to NY. I had a great time this weekend, took the shuttle with Piggy and had lunch with him at the airport as well. Great guy.

Stranger- thank you again for your generosity. You are truly one of a kind.

    • stangerx says:

Brian — you are the Fest MVP for hitting the game you were going too and then turning around days later to join the crew. ANd one of the few times me being “one of a kind” has been brought up in a positive way. 🙂

  36. Rockphin says:

Mike E, did you get all the pictures I e-mailed you while not giving you directions back to your hotel? LOL I wasn’t sure if they were going through or not.

  37. BoulderPhinfan says:

That was a bullshit flag. They’re taking all the fun out of football.

Darren Rizzi said the refs explained that if Jarvis Landry spun the ball in direction of Dolphins bench it wouldn’t be a flag.

  38. Ken says:

Waiting to see game day highlights on NFL Network also want to catch the recast as well. Can’t get enough of it

  39. herdfan says:

It was a great game. However I have to admit to a Joe Philbin queasy feeling when we were behind.

  40. Mike E. says:

I hope all the rest of you folks who were unable to attend the Fest can somehow find a way to make it to the next one. A really great time was had by all, but all of us said we wished that next time that those that didn’t make it can, and were truly missed!

  41. Ken says:

    Geno Smith torn ACL

  42. Mike E. says:

Once again, a BIG THANKS to Stanger, who although is very modest saying he didn’t do anything (HE DID EVERYTHING!), and also to Chef Warren, and Toba, or resident transportation director.

I was a huge pleasure meeting the Doggy family, the Toba Family, Rock, Bookman, Warren and Story, Son’s wife Kim and his friend Bob.

These are some cool people, and I had a great time hanging with all of them. What a fantastic weekend and game we had! GO DOLPHINS!!!

    Stanger, this is for you!

  43. Mike E. says:

    Rock

I just got home, our flight was delayed about 2 hours. I’ll check my mail, I’m sure I got them.

  44. drg says:

Sounds like you guys had a great time! Glad you all got to see a win.

Who is this team and what have they done with the Dolphins?

  45. Ken says:

Lots of love for Jay Ajayi on NFL Network

    • Mike E. says:

He most certainly deserves it. I was trying to catch anything about the Dolphins on the flight home, not one snippet, it was all about the Seahags and the Cards battling for a 6-6 OT tie. Woo hoo. I hope I can catch a replay of our game, although I doubt it.

  46. Mike E. says:

I’m starting to feel a little like a politician, my apologies, but these are sincere. It was also great seeing all my buds who I’ve already met again, especially the ones I don’t see as often, like Stanger and his wife, Son, Randy (OD), Brian in NY, Ken and Piggy, in no particular order.

    • Ken says:

LOL. I was feeling left out. That make Hulk angry. Jk bro it was great see you too. It was great to see everyone. Awesome time.

      • Mike E. says:

Always good too see ya Ken, I’m going to try my best to keep my promise to go to Pepe’s too.

  47. Rockphin says:

Darren Rizzi said the refs explained that if Jarvis Landry spun the ball in direction of Dolphins bench it wouldn’t be a flag.

Can it be any more BS than this?

It was a great game. However I have to admit to a Joe Philbin queasy feeling when we were behind.

At one point I turned my back on the game, knelt down and closed my eyes like I was praying because I “knew” we were going to choke and give them the win. Thank goodness I was wrong.

I was busy typing your e-mail address 14 times and attaching the pictures so you could share them on here. That’s why Billy had to give you directions. He did a passable job of it.

    • Mike E. says:

I will post them Rock, I promise! I have some pretty good ones as well. I thought you were searching for porn all that time. 😉

  50. bookman11 says:

Today is the worst day of the Fest…leaving.

Hey Mike, if you have a group picture, can you send it to me?

  51. bookman11 says:

    Boarding my final flight now

    • stangerx says:

bookman — a tailwind at your back. Brian still gets the MVP award, but you get the one for Fest Virgin of the year……was great to meet you man.

  52. Rockphin says:

woooo hoooo! We don’t have to face the PERFECT QB in two weeks. Geno of the 158.3 passer rating has a torn ACL.

aaaawwwww dammit mike, i just found out i have to work the day of th 2017 fest, you gonna have to count me out

    • Rockphin says:

Rob, didn’t I meet you at Dave & Busters the night before one of the Fests? I am pretty sure, but my memory sucks and I might be getting you confused with someone else.

  54. finfanrob says:

    rock

i only went to the first one.

  55. Rockphin says:

I would very much like to know what the criteria for the Fest MVP is. Brian is great and all but…..I think the fix is in!

    • stangerx says:

LOL Rock — comes down to plane tickets and two games back-to-back. He’s also two out of three last games on getting on the Jumbotron on game day. Maybe you need to step up your game. 🙂

  56. Rockphin says:

For those of you who haven’t met Mike E. He is in pretty damn good shape for a guy who rode dinosaurs when he was a youngin

    • stangerx says:

Mike E is fit as hell and he has skills too. Part of why he is getting courted for big dollars on the NY/NJ fast-pitch softball circuit. And from personal experience…..don’t try to cover him in a receiving route either. Least not when there is a QB like Captain Stubbs with a deep arm.

  57. Rockphin says:

I am tasting blood again today after all the screaming at the game yesterday. I am personally responsible for the Bill’s having to call a time out in the first half. Tyrod couldn’t hear the speaker in his helmet because of me. 😉

  58. Rockphin says:

And from personal experience…..don’t try to cover him in a receiving route either.

That is good to know, because he throws a football like a girl. Even a “jr. NFL football”

    HA!!! LOL

  59. Rockphin says:

LOL Rock — comes down to plane tickets and two games back-to-back……….

Stanger, I just wanted to clarify that I don’t think that I should be in the mix for MVP, if anyone I would nominate YOU as Fest MVP.

  60. Ken says:

No offense to anyone but chef Warren gets Fest MVP. Stanger is our CFO – Chief Fest Officer but Warren was MVP.

    • Rockphin says:

LOL at one point Warren said to me “I don’t know how I got wrangled into being in charge of cooking for these Fests” I just pointed to Stanger and laughed.

    • stangerx says:

Yep — when it comes to Fest Day……no doubt who brings the most talent to his position when he walks on the field. He loves showing off how good he is at it though. And good for us that he does. Does the insurance thing to pay the cable bill, but his passion is food.

  61. Tim Knight says:

So glad you all had a great time at the fest. That’s what it’s all about. The win just clinched it for you guys. 🙂

    • Rockphin says:

Tim, Mike E, his Dana, The Doggy family and I were talking about that in two hours it took to get from the parking lot back to Mike’s hotel 15 miles away. “this ride would have been a lot worse if we had lost”

      • Tim Knight says:

Yeah I had to do that in a car full of Giants fans on the back to the hotel after last year’s game. I had a great time on the trip and the game was good but we lost. They even traded me at the tailgate to a bunch of Dolfans for one of their Giants fan friends. LOL

  62. drg says:

    Mike,

I will definitely make it one of these years. My boys and I were taking in the UCLA/Utah game at the Rose bowl this past weekend. Plus some good beach time with the family. Next year sounds good to me.

  63. Rockphin says:

    LOL @ Tim

and the New York Foot ball Giants fans just made a trade. They have sent Tim Knight and a smoked brisket to the Miami Dolphins fans for a marble rye and a fan to be named later.

  64. Rockphin says:

I love that we have pulled out the last two games and kept our season alive. There are still a lot of games to be played, but right now we are only one game back from the Wild Card spot. AND we own head to head tie breaker with Pitt.

We close the season @ bills, @ NYJ and home against the Pats. We COULD be in position for all of those games to be critical with a finally against the Pats who will have probably locked up home field by then.

I hope we get to play those cheats 3 times this year!

  65. finfanrob says:

all this bs talk about fest mvp ppffffftttt on the jumbo tron makes good food…….that is childs play………………………..when one of you fuckers can make a tent fly give me a call

  66. Rockphin says:

we should be in second place in the division next week after the Pats get their revenge on the Bills and the following week when we kick the shit out of the hated stej we should still be in second place. Unfortunately the only team ahead of us in the standings (other than Buff who won’t be in two weeks and the Pats) that we play head to head is the Ravens and they seem to always have our number.

  67. Phindog says:

Hey .. the Doggy family made the Jumbotron yesterday .. Yesterday was amazing and we have been talking about it ever since. thanks to all that made this possible. It was awesome seeing everyone again and meeting Mike E, His lovely wife Dana and Bookman.. Stanger.. you the Man and chef Warren has mad skills.. OH and big shout out to Jhando and his killer brew.. good stuff 👏👏
