It wasn’t a pretty win. Even good teams have bad games. If you can manage to win your bad games you’re on the right track.

    Ryan Fitzpatrick, Nov. 6, 2016

We still had 140 yards rushing against the best run D in the league. This team will win or lose on Ajayi’s back. Eat you some Campbell’s Chunky young man.

    Wyoming,
Hey, one list I wish we would see Brady on! Lol

  6. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I just got back from the bar and they had a “Jet’s room” where the local jet’s fan club had rented the whole room. It is in the back near the smoking area so every time I went to smoke a cigarette I was standing near the room and something good would happen for the Dolphins. I would stop and open the door on my way back to my inside seat and yell GO DOLPHINS! they were all like get the fuck out of our room you are bad luck, every time we see your bald head the Jets screw up.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ride the J train! Dolphins are 4-4 and in the race.

  7. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy,
You realize Philbin is an OL coach and prefers to run, right? I don’t think he told his OC’s what plays to call. His mistake was sticking with the guys he hired and letting them do their own thing. We also saw plenty of stupid play calls today too.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

THe team was built soft under Philbin

What we saw in the field was his vision
lets not start making excuses for him

  8. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Lol. I bet Kelce is gonna get a nice big fine for throwing that “flag”. Funny but very stupid.

  9. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy,
Seriously? So now we can’t make excuses for anybody? Well, that’s gonna just fuck this whole place up! Lol

  10. Phindog's avatar Phindog says:

Drake … 1st kickoff return for a TD had me and Phinpup doing a double shot of tequila 😎.. so glad we got the win.

  11. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Philbin’s biggest problem is that he didn’t know a lot of really good coaches. His significant time in the small college ranks and in just GB didn’t give him a lot of exposure to good assistant coaches for the NFL. Look at the guys we had during his tenure. Not a really inspiring bunch.

  12. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    New Age,
I agree, but you can’t let what the officials are doing make you do something stupid. That was a premeditated slap in the face of the refs by a player. That only hurts your own team…just not worth it.

  13. 81Howie's avatar 81Howie says:

    How about our TE’s

On that return I said to Max sitting next to me. ON THEM! they have to kick from farther back and set up the return. Sure enough, old Max about fell asleep in his beer when I had to wake him up for the final 25 yards of the TD

  15. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Only thing I was sure of in the 2nd half when we were up by 4 was that the Jets would have the lead again.

Thanks to Drake and whichever Jets guy was offsides on the first kick, but they we looked after that think we would have won anyhow. Not a bad game.

  16. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

As Al Davis used to say, “Just win baby ”

I enjoyed that win. We almost lost it with special teams, and then we won it with special teams. Fitting

Ok, NFL.com has corrected their mistake and now have the Dolphins listed in 2nd place.

  18. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I thought that was a good win. Thought the D played well and did all we needed for us to win. Won the turnover battle, held them mostly to FG’s.
The offense was efficient enough and stayed with the running game which wound up winning the game and no picks from Tannehill and sacks way down.
Still young, still make a lot of stupid penalties but the team looks inspired and becoming winners together.

    new age,

college is not quite as the ref show as the nfl has become but it is close. although college has that absurd targeting rule where game in and game out some kid is ejected because of some bs targeting call. in the fsu game last night that kid that was called for targeting and ejected was one of the worst i have ever seen. it would have had to of been some super human effort to not make contact with the qb yet he still got ejected from the game.

the officiating is just ruining the game

it is also what happens when you stop asking your average qb to win games and the rest of the team steps up and starts playing well so your average qb isnt expected to be something he isnt.

VERY lucky that pass today wasn’t picked. That would have likely changed the outcome of the game.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Every QB gets lucky like that, it’s part of the game. No one has sympathy when a receiver pops it up and it gets picked, so don’t nitpick when a DB jumps a play, but drops the INT. It works both ways!

    • Phindog's avatar Phindog says:

or the drop on third down when he hit the TE right in the hands. one can do this all day long…..play the what if game.

  57. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

the colts are up 24-13 in the forth over green bay. so damn glad the fins dont have a horrible qb like rogers. rogers has to be one of the worst qb’s ever letting is team lose to the lowly colts

  58. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Not exactly how we drew it up but Mike E and I called exactly how Drake should be used in this game. We said tire out the other team and let Drake hit the loose gaps to the open field.

We were thinking after Ajayi, but they did it in another way. They sent Grant out for a kick off and had him run all over the field like he was playing keep away. Once Grant had them panting……….the Phins sent in Drake for the re-kick. You guys know what happened next.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

      That was crazy!

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

It also wasn’t smart football unless Grant knew that the flag was down and against them……..but hey — as long as the play took his coaches might have been yelling “Jets Penalty” from the sidelines.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Much respect for Cohen, and can;t argue with this part.

“A large share of the credit continues to belong to this offensive line. Tannehill was sacked one time, meaning he has been sacked twice in the last three games after getting sacked 17 in the previous five. He wasn’t intercepted either, which makes it three games in a row. Interesting isn’t it how much better a quarterback you become when your running game is working and you’ve got time to throw? Again, back to the offensive line. “

  59. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

wow rogers sucks, he just let the colts drive down the field and score a td to put the colts up 31 – 13

  65. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    D,

GB is losing to the colts at home. So I guess those who put all the blame on the qb must thing rogers sucks

    • D's avatar D says:

Rodgers really isn’t helping much. He is off this year for sure. His OL definitely isn’t the entire problem.

      • D's avatar D says:

I’ve seen games where he had eternity of time to pass and still made the wrong decision. He has had decent time to make his passes but he us going against the strength of his receivers trying to make deep plays work when the short ones gave been open, he also has no running game to balance it. Even elite QBs have bad games and seasons, but you do have the elite years to remind you that it’s a bad year, and anomaly. We are hanging on to Tanny finally stringing a few games together to build confidence off of, not a multi year career of success. Not a real close comparison to make a point with.

  66. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

One doesn’t excuse the other and one doesn’t replace the other. You want the best you can get at any spot,

you do kind of get that is impossible to have the best at any spot. that is why you take what you have and you play to the strength of the team. thill isnt the strength of the team stop being a D when he isnt. accept who he is and find other ways to improve……oh wait, they did that the last 3 games. sorry what do i know it should just be an elite qb or bust

    • D's avatar D says:

I am OK with how it’s been going. It’s not completely dependant on any obe position, so it’s nice that one can be off while the other excels and we win. I’m just saying you ultimately want the best you can at any position and you want to eliminate weakness at any position. That includes QB. If he continues to do his part he isn’t the weak link anymore.

  68. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

    stanger,

so hmmmm t hill gets blamed for all the losses but he oline gets credit for all the wins. oh well makes sense to me

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I only speak for myself ffr, nobody else. And I think this line plus Tanny work just fine. And my problem before these three wins was the O-Line. Think Tanny is who he is….a constant influenced by other factors more than anything.

Also I think another thing is because we aren’t as reliant some of his claws aren’t as crucial. There were bad throws today. Behind guys when it should have been in front, low throw to Landry he had to fingertip catch it, but it’s not killing us as bad. He also responds better not, bounces back to make plays to make up for the mess ups. He is definitely improving.

Im glad we are winning and I think everyone is on board with a game manager as long as we win. The only problem with game managers is that they usually can’t get you that extra win or two that is really needed once the playoffs happen. See, even when it’s the OL and running back winning games for us, somehow Tannehill gets the praise…for doing nothing but not screwing up. What a shock. Lol

Having a game manager means your defense has to carry you in the playoffs. We can live with that but it does mean we need to keep drafting D.

So bringing Rodgers into the co go as a show that Tanny’s issues aren’t any different than his isn’t a comparison?

wow, that was what you got out of me saying over and over and over and over that even an elite qb cant win a game on his own. you got out of that i was comparing thill to rogers. if that was what you got out of me being plain as day. EVEN AN ELITE QB CANT WIN A GAME ON HIS OWN. i have nothing left to discuss

He also threw a beautiful touch pass today, something he’s struggletd with in the past

mike none of that matters. only that he threw some bad passes. cause even lady boy and rogers and all the elite ones never ever ever throw bad passes. just the avg qb of the fins throws them. the rest are perfect on every pass

Aaaaaand….we are one day away from the end of the intrusive political ads
    ——————–
Bookman — and you guys in the cheese land are just one of the “maybe” swing states. Read yesterday that they have spent $130 million on Presidential ads in FL (and that doesn’t include the others ones).

You turn on a local station here and you get five, six, seven in a row.

    • herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

The presidential ones are bad, then you get all the other state races. The tv stations where I live have coverage for a 3 state area, so I get to hate candidates I don’t have a chance to vote against.

        Exactly

Those negative ads work to an extent though. Told my wife as we out of the polls, “didn’t worry too much about checking out our congressman, since he wasn;t getting bashed on TV figured at least my vote on him didn’t matter.”

Good night everyone, I really don’t care who is to “blame” for the win today. 😳 4-4 and in the playoff hunt. 3 wins in a row….I will take that any day.
