Game Wrap Up with the Little Prawn Jests @Dolphins

fins-v-jestspoop

Looks like Prawny is so excited about Sunday’s win he is suggesting some edits to the Jests logo.  I think it works for them too Prawny…

Let’s recap what happened!

Well You know the Dolphins new formula

ajayirunninghard

Bruising runs by Ajayi

Again

And Again

And Again

Here Prawny points out how many defenders it takes to bring him down.

But it didn’t start out so well for Ajayi.  His first 3 runs were all for losses.

Then on his 4th carry Ajayi broke a 20 yarder for a touchdown.

landryvjests

And of course Landry was just as physical early.

Landry only caught three passes for 33 yards but he did take some one’s helmet off and scrapped all game!  And that is what Landry does.

None of the receivers had a very good game.  Between Landry, Still and Parker there was only a total of 52 receiving yards.

The Dolphins leading receiver…TE Dominique Jones with 43 yards…

fitz-getting-hit

After Jones caught the Dolphins 2nd TD of the half, the offense sort of slowed down.

But that’s okay, the Dolphins played decent defense.

Yeah they gave up some big 3rd downs early

But they hit Fitzpatrick a lot.

fitxz-sitting

And they even forced the NFL’s leading interceptor to watch from the sidelines for a series.  SIT DOWN HARVARD!

Fitzpatrick was sacked three times and threw 2 interceptions.

The jests did not get over 200 yards in the air.

Hey Look out Fitzpatrick – Jordan Phillips is about to hurdle some one!

110616 spt fins jets 18

Jordan Phillips had his first career interception.

He is also the guy knocked Fitzpatrick out of the game

Which was called for a late hit…

Ugggghhhhh

Well the officials kept the Jests in the game by making their presence known

powerref

There were some painful moments in the game

courtesy of the NFL officials

Who reminded everyone, on every other play, that they were in the building.

It was a flag fest

It was hard to watch…

but not as hard as watching Darr with the worst mistake of his young career.

darr-fumble-copy

Here Prawny reminds each of you that evil is alive in well

WTF happened!?!?!

What was that play?!?!

The Dolphins almost lost the game on a special teams play.

After this 4th down mishap deep in their own territory, the jests would score a TD

But what special teams takes, special teams gives

110616 spt fins jets 05

DRAKE!!!

Prawny lost his shell when this happened.

A penalty on a kick off and a lot of dancing by Grant on the initial kick off  help tire the jests special teams down.

And Drake struck the tired special teams!

suhvjets

The defense would not the the jests offense get started on the next drive.

Suh grabbed a sack and a big tackle on the jests next possession.

Suh now has 3.5 sacks on the year.

And on the final Dolphins drive, the Jests could not stop Ajayi.

ajayibye

Prawny points out how polite Ajayi is in this pic.

Nice of Ajayi to waive goodbye to the Jests.

Ajayi finished with 24 carries for 111 yards.  He didn’t get 100 yards until the final drive of the game – the clock killing drive!

Those extra yards sealed the Jests fate.

The Dolphins are now a .500 team

4-4

Marshall was proud of his ability to not lose his cool in the face of an onslaught of holding.

“I think I did an amazing job of keeping my emotions in check but taking the game to him,” Marshall said, adding that he repeatedly told Maxwell during the game, “Stop holding.”

Shut up stabby! You lost. Fn crybaby.

Oops – didn’t notice new blog up – from previous blog – Tim – sorry to hear that. You seem to have had a string of bad karma coming your way the last year or so – I hope this reverses as of now. Keep your chin up mate.

I love the new stej logo Piggy, except I don’t want to be any where near them when they have throwbacks.

The win is like cold pizza, just as good this morning.

Dang Tim, that’s all I can say, dang. Sorry bro.

Wow Tim, I’m really sorry to hear about the fire, If it was mentioned on here before I completely missed it. I’m assuming it wasn’t your home but it sucks all the same. All the best to your family.

  5. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Nice job Piggy/Prawny!

I was right about Ajayi, we stuck with it, he had over 20 carries, and almost got to 125 and he did get 1 TD. Where I was wrong, was Tannehill, he didn’t come anywhere near 300 yards, but still, he didn’t turn the ball over, and he did throw 1 TD pass. Regardless, I like the formula we’re using, it’s sound, and playoff ready. Very few teams these days get into the playoffs and win in the playoffs throwing the football 30-35 times. It just doesn’t work.

  6. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim

Really sorry to hear about the house, although it’s not clear whose house it is. That’s very sad, hopefully the insurance will help them bounce back ASAP.

    Nice recap Piggy

  9. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

I think the thing that makes me the most optimistic now is that even when things aren’t going well, all the flags, etc, we still found a way to win. Past years we would have collapsed and basically given up. ❤️🐬🏈

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I agree it seems we are learning how to win. I want to see how this translates on the road but I am more optimistic than I have been in a long time

  10. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Next game is a tough game against SD in their house. We’re both fighting to make the playoffs, so it should be a good match up. The Chargers score a lot of points, but they give up a lot of points too. In our winning streak, we’ve been scoring just about 28 points PPG, we may need to turn it up a notch either on offense or defense to beat them.

  11. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Thanks peeps, it was my wife’s parents house, our family shore house. My mother-in-law is in a rehab facility and has no idea her house is gone.

  12. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The jests were the #1 run defense in the nfl and still gave up 137 yards to us

They dropped to #4 after the game

    the Chargers are actually #5
so they are strong against the run

Like the jests they are bad against the pass (#26)
I would be surprised if we can pull off what we did vs the jests and stick with the ground game again in this scenario

but it would say a lot about our rushing attack if we did what we did against the jests vs the chargers

  13. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

Tim that is just tragic. If there’s a silver lining to this at least your MIL wasnt there at the time.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah that could have been really bad. My brother-in-law was the only one there and he was next door at our neighbors house saying goodbye before he left. He might have had a hard time getting her out if she was upstairs which is where she usually is.

  20. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

I guess that’s move on from that punt and not move on from the team?🤔

    • Gase walked by punter Matt Darr and told him simply “move on.” Says Darr does everything right.

  21. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Sorry to hear about your family’s loss Tim. I hope everything works out. It’s terrible to lose all those little irreplaceable items, like family heirlooms, old pictures, etc.

I was going to make a smart ass remark about your FIL’s ashes not really being lost, only mixed in with the rest of the ashes, just scoop some up, she will never know. But thought it was in bad taste so I am only posting that I was GOING TO say it…….(I guess I had to “say it” to say I was going to say it)

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We joked about it too after we had to move on from the initial sadness. He was well known and loved by most in the neighborhood and known for his whistling so you knew he was around. His spirit will always be there now.

I had to double check who posted this. Is Omar Kelly really cherry picking stats that FAVOR Ryan Tannehill??

I bet next year he will be saying he always knew……

    Omar Kelly

    @OmarKelly

Only 6 QB have a higher yards per attempt average than Ryan Tannehill’s 7.79. Brady, Ryan, Brees, Prescott, Dalton & Rivers are better

  25. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Cameron Wake just keep on going on and on

His 2 sacks vs the jests (both sack fumbles) gives him 5 on the year

After limited snaps early, he’s on pace for 10 again

    oink!

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Yeah, but Wake has a history of disappearing for games at a time. He has been “on pace” for 16 – 20 sacks before but then gone 3-4 games without any. LOVE him but let’s wait to the end of the year to see how many sacks he gets.

I think the world comes crashing back down on us Dolphins Fans next Sunday.

Melvin Gordan (196 rushing / 261 from scrimmage this week) proves too much for our Defense and Phillip Rivers takes advantage of us trying unsuccessfully to stop the run.

The Dolphins fall behind and the Bolts D makes us pay for passing too much by picking Thill twice.

  35. Ken's avatar Ken says:

SD has a highly rated run D but I think it is something of a mirage. SD has gotten some big leads in games. This causes teams to abandon the the run and throw. SD’s D has been poor against the pass so no one is going back to the run. . Their red is not like the Jets who have a killer front 4

Gase, keep it simple and let players play.

We also found playmakers on ST’s in Drake and Grant. That’s only going to get better. 🙂

And holy shit…that lizard video was amazing. I know Ajayi is balling right now, but we need to sign that elusive frickin’ lizard. Talk about escaping the jaws of death. He did it about 18 times. He’d better hope a rock doesn’t fall around him because he just used up his quota of luck for his life.

that is such bs. again this is just like giving the qb all the blame or credit. did he play great in the wins yes he did, but pretty sure the o line stepped it up just as much as he did. the D has too. why people just want to keep taking a win and pinning it on one person i will just never get.

    No idea how many districts

    I was district 72
I saw districts as low as the 60s
None as high as he 80s
    I’m guessing 15-20 districts
    No less than 10

Ajayi reminds me of Lynch, not Ricky. I see the same type of forward running and similar steps.

Wow, how did you know I meant you? 😉
