  1. Mike E. says:

We need to keep Terrance West in check, and don’t let Flacco hit deep passes on us. He hasn’t been doing it all year, Smith is still his best receiver. Wallace is having a decent season, and Pitta is one of his favorite targets.

  2. Tim Knight says:

I think our offense can score on anyone if we can block a little bit.

  3. herdfan says:

Are any of you guys in touch with NJ from the SS blog? Seems like I remember him being in Gatlinburg now and from what I hear the whole place burned down.

  4. Mike E. says:

    Herd

Sorry, NJ used to live in Guttenberg NJ, that’s what I thought of when I saw Gatlinburg. He’s in Sieverville I believe

  5. 81Howie says:

So I go to put my ‘alternate’ coffee cup in the dishwasher before I left work and my missing mug is in there. I’m going to stake out the kitchen in the morning and catch whoever the thief is. Lol

  10. Mike E. says:

That’s where I’m talking about. Sievervillle, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are all pretty much together.

    • Mike E. says:

I saw it, I just got busy here in my office. I reached out to him, he said it’s very bad there, air quality. As far as I know, no damage to his restaurants or home. He answered me hurriedly, as I’m sure he has his hands full.

  12. 81Howie says:

    MikeE
why is he not on the Blog anymore? Tell him Howie misses talking to him about Steve Austin and Andre the Giant 🙂

  13. 81Howie says:

Well maybe not now, Hope the fires go out before they hit his house

  14. 81Howie says:

Dolly has been big news this Christmas season and now these awful fires but ET did cut her short tonight to let us know that Kanye went to the bathroom today…

  15. Mike E. says:

    Howie

After the blogs split, I guess he found other things to do. He has the 2 restaurants now, so that’s definitely keeping him busy. I’ll tell him though Howie, I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of that.

  16. Tim Knight says:

Wishing the best for all dealing with those fires. It’s been raining all day here and everything is wet. Then you think somewhere else that’s not the deal.

OD says: A YOUNG CO-WORKER, his fiancee, and a couple of other friends who went to their FIRST Dolphins game yesterday stopped at a HOOTERS in Naples on the way back to Tampa from the game. Almost two hours after the game, the patrons were STILL celebrating Miami’s last play win over San Francisco! NAPLES IS A HUGE DOLPHINS TOWN and the residents are truly pumped over the 6-game winning streak! I really haven’t seen south Florida Dolfans this excited about the team since 2000!!

YEAH BABY NAPLES ROCKS THE DOLPHINS!

  18. Rockphin says:

Tannehill had his best game of the season and it marked the second time this season he was the top overall quarterback for the week.

You better buckle your chin strap for this one! 🙂

      • that’s what I’m thinking. this could be a very low scoring affair; maybe even 13-10 or even 12-10 but I don’t think either offense is going to put up a lot of points. Our D and our st’s will need to continue to create scoring opportunities for our offense and we’re really going to need to play our most complete game of the year to come away with a win in this one.

  24. wyoming85 says:

In case anyone hasn’t noticed yet? 😉

  25. wyoming85 says:

    I think so Lou

I don’t see Baltimore having anyone that gives up fits on offence!

    No running QB
    No stud TE
Steve Smith is the one that will give them the best chance

If the front 4 do their thing Wallace won’t have time to go deep

    • The big question is going to be the offensive line. If we go into the game with Moe & Larry on the left side we won’t be able to get anything going on offense. So, the D and st’s are going to need to help us out either with some points or turnovers.

  26. herdfan says:

Even I’ve been to Hooter’s. lol

  27. Well I’ve never been to Hooters
But I kinda like the Boobies
Say the ladies are insane there
And they sure know how to use it……….la di da

  28. Donald Hawkins is now a free agent and Sam Young still has a job. Crazy world we live in. In any case, I say it’s imperative the Phins bring him back to shore up the T position for the road ahead.
Young got whipped so many times on Sunday his jock strap was two sizes too big by the time the game was over.

  39. stangerx says:

Liked the guy, but was glad we passed on Charles Clay at the price. Not like Cameron has worked out that well either…..but he was cheaper.
    —————————
“Clay signed a risky five-year, $38 million offer sheet the Bills thought would both bolster their offense while dealing a blow to the division-rival Dolphins.

The matchup problems and big-play ability Clay was expected to offer have not materialized. Despite having the NFL’s seventh-highest average annual contract value among tight ends, Clay ranks 28th among his position in receiving yards per game and 28th in yards per catch. With 36 catches for 323 yards, Clay is on pace for 469 receiving yards, which would be his least-productive season since 2012. His average of 9.0 yards per catch is the lowest of his career, and Clay has yet to score a touchdown this season. “

    • Tim Knight says:

I think his knee/knees might be affecting him. He had knee issues with us and they continued in BUF.

      • stangerx says:

He was still never going to be a dominating TE. Could win SB MVP as that extra option in a great O (thinking Warder and the turf show), but you get the idea…..

Leon Orr made his way off the PS to active……sounds like he won’t be going back on it.
    ————————————-
Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr was arrested Tuesday and faces charges for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies approached Orr’s car, they “could immediately smell the odor of the marijuana coming from inside the vehicle,”

Deputies began searching his car. They found “what appeared to be three glass vials containing what appeared to be marijuana wax.” They also found “a green plastic bottle containing a red liquid inside.” The front label of the bottle read “kush syrup.”

  42. The Flying Pig says:

    Tim

    Are you pigjudice!

  43. herdfan says:

Marijuana wax? Guess I’ve been out of the loop and missed out on some new products. Lol

Dolphins’ Branden Albert and Laremy Tunsil return to practice

  46. BoulderPhinfan says:

Wow this article by mando is interesting. I guess philbin wasn’t such a hardass afterall.

“And the culture he’s tried to instill has taken root and is starting to bloom.

“I think it’s been mostly a gradual (shift) through the progression of the season,” Gase said. “We would have one or two things a week. It wouldn’t be always these huge (things), like this guy isn’t playing because of this. It wasn’t things like that all the time, just little tiny irritant things for a coach where, ‘Why can’t we just be on time?’ Some of those things happen every once in a while and it happens in every organization and it’s frustrating when it does because this is your job. It would be like any of us not being where we’re supposed to be and just kind of shrugging your shoulders, not really caring. That was something we felt like we needed to get changed fast and we needed to make sure we were doing the right things because it does matter on Sunday. It all adds up at the end of the day.”

    Ready for the bombshell?

Gase believes this stuff needed to be “changed fast” because it had gone on too long before he arrived. That’s right, Joe Philbin — obsessive in picking up wads of paper from the practice field and not having certain personalities on the team — apparently let this other stuff happen more than we know.

“I think that’s how it has been here for the last how many whatever years,” Gase said. “That’s just what it was.”

    Read more here: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article117982903.html#storylink=cpy

    • Tim Knight says:

I guess that’s why the team got worse not better under Philbin. Ugh!

    • stangerx says:

Crowder a couple days ago told the story about how he showed up like 15 minutes late for a team meeting. One of his coaches asked why and Crowder said, “cause of last night.”

He still got fined seven grand……but also guessing that is part of why he retired so young.

  47. The Flying Pig says:

I’m not putting down Gase or defending Philbin

but factor in that Gase is in his first year
and guys in t heir first year usually come in like wrecking balls
Sometimes, over time, they get into bad habits too

Philbin may have not starting off shrugging his shoulders at late players until after his first year

He may have come in very ambitious to change the culture too….and failed
    it happens

  48. The Flying Pig says:

Now everyone is mad at me

  49. Mike E. says:

I think Gase has a better overall approach to changing things. Stand by for more on that in tomorrows Ask Mike

    • stangerx says:

Gase didn’t know about Orr’s arrest until practice had started. Orr was fired before practice had finished. Suspected coming in the Gase was the high-thinking kind, but even if seems nice he has that other side too him as well.

    lmao piggy.

well the good thing or at least some hope, in my honeymoon stage i was told no to getting f**ked so there is always that. although it did end up in a divorce years later but i will take years of not gettng f**ked and the fins a winner

  51. finfanrob says:

and here is a good place to vent. spent the last two days with funeral services for my ex bro in law. i really dont get this god thing, he was truly one of the great people. this world needs more people like him. truly was a great person, i have no idea if there is a god or not but if there is why would he take him over pricks like me or some of the evil people in this world.

and sorry just a hard last night and today. besides i had to hug my ex wife. give me a break for today.

okay i for one do get that. kind of like i have always said about t hill. not putting him down or defending him. just always said he wasnt the issue the whole team is.

  53. finfanrob says:

and with all of that, i am going to start drinking. my liver may hate me in the morning

  54. Mike E. says:

    Rob

Sorry man. Tough to comprehend when those things happen. It really is. You can Ask Mike, but I got nothing when it comes to that. Thankfully, time heals all bud, that much I’m sure of. Hang in there my friend!

  55. Ken says:

Piggy loving him some Joe Philbin. JK. I will say there is a cultural difference between Philbin and Gase. Gase seems to take personal accountability much more seriously. I think Gase took control of this team the day he cut Thomas, Turner and Douglas. He made it clear that if you don’t do your job then you have no place on this team.Philbin did not seem to hold the players accountable for their play and practice habits.

  56. finfanrob says:

    mike,

thanks. i know this sounds kind of dumb, but there is lots of things that happens in a divorce. one was knowing i would not be with my kids every day. and i admit another i knew was not going to be able to spend time with him and his family. he was truly one of the great people, lol even if he was an attorney. (just a joke to you guys who are). it truly was one of the hardest funerals i have even had to endure.

and sorry to bring it here just this is good place to be and help deal with things.

  57. Ken says:

    Stanger:
Charles Clay has a shitty QB throwing the ball to him. Say what you will about Tyrod Taylor but he is not a very good passer. He is athletic and has a very strong arm but his accuracy waxes and wanes and they don’t have him throw very much at all.

  58. Mike E. says:

    Rob

Don’t be sorry at all. I think this place is very therapeutic. There are plenty of ears to hear your grief, and try and help you through it. Like I said earlier, time will definitely heal, but man, it’s tough until that time arrives, you just cope as best you can. The human spirit is truly amazing though, the pain we can overcome. Really sorry for your loss, and even sorrier you had to hug your ex-wife. 😉

  59. finfanrob says:

will say this. last night my brother laid into me. he has always claimed to be a dolphin too. but he is by far a bucs man, i think he was always more a marino fan. but he told me at dinner he says ‘hey the fins have one 6 in a row’. i kept saying who cares the didnt beat anyone and he said ‘stop being a dick, they won 6 in a row just enjoy it’ lol what are big brother for then pointing out a lil brother being a dick.

  60. drg says:

I don’t expect miracles from a coach, but at least add to the equation in some way. The more the better obviously, but I never was able to identify anything Philbin brought to the table.

  61. finfanrob says:

Really sorry for your loss, and even sorrier you had to hug your ex-wife. 😉

lol you dont know the horror. LOL

(and all really just joking about it, she is okay, just got married too young. and her family is great. her dad and i always got along well. it was horrible watching him have to lay his son to rest like they say no parent should even have to do that.)

Cornerback Xavien Howard again was limited as he continues his comeback from a knee injury, and guard Jermon Bushrod (calf) also was limited.

Five players did not practice: RB Kenyan Drake (knee), LB Jelani Jenkins (knee/hand), DT Earl Mitchell (back), WR DeVante Parker (back) and C Mike Pouncey (hip).

Dolphins yanked the season tickets of the guys in the fight last Sunday. The story on that included the below…….guess who the three top arrest teams are.
