Well, the Dolphins brass have made it clear, they wanted to improve the defense, and so far in the 2017 NFL Draft, the first 3 picks have gone to that side of the ball. In the 1st RD pick #22, The Dolphins took Mizzou DE Charles Harris (6’3″ 253)

In the 2nd RD, at pick #54, the Dolphins selected Ohio St. LB Raekwon McMillan (6’2″ 240). If I’m going to be honest, I didn’t really look closely at McMillan, there were other guys I was more interested in. McMillan could probably play any of the 3 LB spots, but maybe he’s our future MLB.

The Dolphins apparently weren’t done adding talent to the defense, because in the 3rd RD, the Dolphins took Clemson CB Cordrea Tankersley (6’1″ 199).

I hope the Dolphins will add some beef for the O-line, but that remains to be seen. Pitt OG Dorian Johnson is still available, as is Utah OG Isaac Asiata. In any case, Dolphins took care of business on the defensive side, and that’s a good thing
GO DOLPHINS! ZERO IN!

So what the hell was the trade compensation?
We shifted up 2 in 5th with our first pick, and then shifted down with the last pick in the 5th to an early 6th
We just picked last in the 5th. I see no changes in draft picks?
Ken you don’t see Kaaya as a pick we would do or that specific pick?

The Dolphins traded for No. 164 and 194 for 166 and 184 — all within the fifth round.
wrong it’s 194.in the 6th
for 10 picks before he was picked, Godchaux was listed as best remaining player at any position.
Godchaux gets to learn from Suh tooooo. Bet he’s happy, especially if he tooo wants Suh money 5yrs from now. 🙂
Okay my page wasn’t up to date. I see it now.
Brownies take Brantley
He’s a pretty good Center!
Roullier, Chase C 6’4″ 312 Wyoming
friggin Jests pick twice before us in the 6th….dem fuggers!
I’m, horrified, you? LOL
What’s the deal with Bucky Hodges?
Is he hurt or did he fuck up?
I liked his potential too, we may take him here in the 6th
Mike Tyson in Seattle
I have no idea who is left on the board, but 6th round seems a perfect place to take a safety who could hit the PS. Maybe even a CB to S conversion guy.
Tannenbaum didn’t trade our franchise away. I say we move up in the 6th and send our 2018 1st to do it. LOL
Real good stuff on Godchaux. Seems our scouts & FO have been doing their homework. 🙂
https://www.seccountry.com/lsu/2017-nfl-draft-davon-godchaux-lsu-defensive-end-bio
Sorta fits with what we want given how much Suh plays.
It’s still early but I’m really impressed with Grier. He seems to get how the draft works. The entire franchise seems to be very cohesive in what they do. Everything we talked about all offseason has happened. It’s just different names like it always is. 😉
Hodges really isn’t that good. I never understood his hype
Tops that we could take
Lee, Elijah LB 6’3″ 228 Kansas St. 5.4
Johnson, Jadar S 6’0″ 206 Clemson 5.4
Hodges, Bucky TE 6’6″ 257 Virginia Tech 5.7
Auclair, Antony TE 6’6″ 254 Laval (Canada) 5.4
Roullier, Chase C 6’4″ 312 Wyoming 5.4
Collins, Aviante OT 6’4″ 295 TCU 5.4
isn’t C KYLE FULLER still available?
There goes Tevi. He us raw and hasn’t been playing on offense but just this year but he was the LT next to asiata, and has a lot of athletic traits to work with
I guess Jadar Johnson the Safety with 5 interceptions last year is the best remaining player for us.
There ya go Tim there is the explanation.
What are we talking about here?
Brantley on NFL
Xavier Woods, damn it Dallas….that’s a Db that we could’ve stashed Stanger….ugh
The Jets traded with the Cowboys, wheeew…. I was really worried what they might do. LOL
LOL
Who did we pick today?
Guys that suck
A waitress from North Dakota. Nothing to see here. LOL
I dunno no she was a hot waitress, even if she did have no front teeth. Just can’t make her smile much and we will be fine
We looked back at your least favorites and took all of them! 😉
Round 5, Pick 20 (164) (From Eagles through Titans) Isaac Asiata OG 6’3″ 323 Utah 5.5
Pick Analysis: Miami rushers averaged 1.9 yards before contact last season (25th in NFL). Asiata is a mean run blocker who should compete for reps on a talent-barren unit. –Mark Dulgerian
Round 5, Pick 35 (178) (Compensatory Selection) Davon Godchaux DT 6’3″ 310 LSU 5.3
you guys are hilarious!
He’s there Top!
But there are a couple of Centers ranked higher
k…thanks pal.
So what do we do at #194?
D
If you took the toothless waitress for her smile your doing it wrong! 😉
You posted it before it was real. You suck! LOL
Interesting, another DT, this one I know nothing about
Another DT
Wyoming I’m just suggesting how we could get the most out of that selection. I mean she was a 3rd rounder easy if she had never smiled
The toothless ones have better qualities than a smile my friend!
Makes good pancakes
Lmao @ Chad Kelley being Mr irrelevant
I picked Vincent Taylor in one of my mocks. Ya see, they are real. LOL
Love this guy too!!
” The 2016 first-team all-conference selection led the Cowboys with 13 tackles for loss and seven sacks, and tied for the FBS lead with four blocked kicks.”
ST Ace 🙂
Good to know. Glad it was a guy with promise
WOW, VT the DT….kid is nasty mean….lots of competition now.
Well we only have Suh and Phillips so…… 😉
Phillips be like Rut Roh….lol
More like get ready to work boyz, this room is tough. 🙂
I think Fuller goes late this round or early 7th. He may go undrafted.
I haven’t seen what you guys do in him.
I haven’t either and I’m cool with that. LOL
The second DT is kind of a head scratcher for me?
But it’s the 6th round so whatever
Yeah totally disturbing. 😉
did jason BUTT the tight end get chosen yet
He “WIPED” OUT!
I had this guy in the 5th on my wish list since we had the last pick then.
Taylor led the entire FBS in blocked kicks with 4 last year and had 2 the year before. He had 7 sacks as a DT. He benched 26 reps.
I’d be pissed off too with that much acne! Now go kiss Brady big boy!!!
Well both the Wyoming players gone now!
Bucky Hodges still available, correct?
Yes
Thank you
ESPN’s Chris Low named five players who have the potential to be NFL Draft sleepers, or “the next Antonio Brown, who went from a sixth-round pick to one of the premier receivers in the NFL.”
Among his choices were Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor.
“While it’s true the Cowboys gave up 30 or more points eight times last season, it’s also true that the 6-3, 304-pound Taylor was a disruptive force on the interior of that Oklahoma State defensive line,” Low writes. “A redshirt junior, Taylor elected to leave early for the NFL draft and did so on the heels of an extremely productive season.”
Low adds, ” Everybody’s looking for productive defensive tackles, especially tackles who can rush the passer, which will make Taylor a steal if he’s still there the latter half of the draft.”
Those guys don’t really challenge Phillips, they can’t replace what he does, but he will have to push himself to stay on the field at full effort, so they don’t get a chance to get a foothold. Those guys don’t have anything close to the physical ability if Phillips at his best, so it’s more to get Phillips to stay at his best and to have better depth at a high injury chance position than anything else.
Yeah, Gase has mentioned a few times about pushing Phillips….I think the message has been delivered.
ANYONE HERE think Miami’s “Nastiness Factor” has gone up a notch or two??
Gotta punch those Patsie’s in the friggin mouth!
Its more like the passion to play has gone up a lot. These guy love playing the game and being their best. It’s good stuff. Asiata and Godcheaux are seriously nasty dudes.
Yes
Is that acne or that skin condition that makes it like a toads skin? If that’s acne he needs to advertise for proactive after they fix that for him
There goes Hodges
He has 35 inch arms and 10 inch hands!
“Fires out of his stance with some gas. Can win the early battle for neutral zone. Able to create push at point of attack and make plays on other side of line. Plus upper body strength. Bench-press numbers are impressive. Can toss blockers aside and win the gap late in the rep. Has long arms and active hands in passing lane. Motor is adequate and he’ll give an honest chase to the ball. Not a stagnant rusher. Looks to find blocker’s edge and has posted solid sack production
NAPLES: DID YOU KNOW that Piggy also “Fires out of his stance with some gas?”
PFF scouting Report:
Name: Vincent Taylor
School: Oklahoma State
Position: Nose tackle (0/1 technique)
Stats to know: 43 total pressures tied for 11th among all interior defensive linemen in 2016.
What he does best:
Tremendously powerful, uses heavy hands to shock lineman as he engages.
Consistently stands up blockers on initial contact.
Flashes ability to generate vertical movement against single blocks in the run game.
Displays good leverage and strength when bull rushing, consistently able to collapse the pocket.
Possesses sufficient power to disengage opposing lineman with just one arm.
Multi-dimensional pass-rusher, beat blocks using the swim, rip and arm over moves intermittently.
Forces offensive lineman to overextend with a developed push/pull move.
Sufficiently athletic for the position, unbalanced offensive lineman with quickness occasionally.
Refined upper body technique, displays good hand placement and ability to “get skinny” to penetrate.
Biggest concern:
Fails to consistently shed in the ground game, despite generating an early advantage in reps.
Lacks patience to find the ball, occasionally loses gap discipline.
Overly aggressive at times, widens lanes with attempts to penetrate.
Rarely generates pressure if initially blocked, lacks a variety of counter moves.
Not the stoutest against double teams, can be surprised by blindside chips.
Not the smoothest when required to change direction.
Player comparison: Michael Brockers, Los Angeles Rams
Like Brockers, Taylor has a long frame and both players can have their problems with double teams if they don’t win right off the snap. Brockers has had a solid career for the Rams, and Taylor should have plenty to stick around as a productive nose tackle at the next level.
Bottom line: If not for the depth in this class of defensive lineman, Taylor would undoubtedly have received more attention. He put together a remarkably impressive junior year, flashing an outstanding physical skillset. Taylor is already a well-developed pass-rusher, despite his tender years. In order to succeed at nose tackle in the NFL, however, he’ll need to improve against the run. Although Taylor flashed a spectacular skillset, consistency remains elusive.
I heard some days he likes to eat turkey and others ground beef. Life is crazy! 😉
Lot’s of competition for the 3rd DT spot. Edge rush depth, box LB depth and boundary corner depth. This team went defense all the way. Love it! They must be reading us. LOL
So where do we go in the 7th at #223?
I like that Taylor kid, WR out of la tech. Check out the video I posted yesterday
DTs and OL need to be mean nasty guys. Like Gase said some last year, if it takes eating a 15 every so often to let them embrace their inner demon, he is ok as long as they don’t make a habit out of it and get those that are just stupid ones
CBS gave both the DT picks a grade of A and the Asiata pick an A+ grade!
Way to rock the 5th again this year FO guys!!!
SOURCES TELL US “I think he’ll be a back-end-of-the-roster type or a practice squad player. He has some ability, but I just don’t think he’s ever going to play with balance because he’s too high-cut.” — East regional scout for AFC team
LOL, obviously wasn’t a Dolphins scout, Hmm. 🙂
That was on Vince Taylor.
I hope we take a shot on Dylan Cole. I really like what we’ve done in this draft. We definitely stouter. We don’t go for any flashy athletic players, just guys who get it done. Something could definitely be said for that. I mean, I love the guys who are little freakish athletically, but a lot of the guys we took are tough, and stout, with the exception of Tankersley who doesn’t like to tackle, but can cover very well.
He’s probably an UDFA Mikey, it might be someone though they might want to secure with a pick, just to make sure they get him though
Vikings get Bucky Tooth Hodges.
Taylor looks like Shrek — mean and dangerous!
LOL – He does look a little Shrekish
Sleeper Safety
FS DAVID JONES RICHMOND CAA FOOTBALL
Bryan Cox Jr still out there too I think. He also may go undrafted, but I might try to secure him with the 7th pick
Not gonna be easy for dozen or so to make the 53, never mind the game day 46. Let the competition begin. Really liking what we did this offseason. But until the 7th is in we’re totally incomplete. LOL
I think out PS will be completely overturned. There are a bunch of guys who could be UDFA pickups that easily unseat those guys. The 53 though, yeah most of us are going to have people we really hate to see leaving and they are going to be players that don’t make it back to us, other teams are going to pick them up this time
People here in Tampa Bay believe they’ve had a really good draft, too. One radio guy said “Those Miami boys are long on finesse and a little short on gumption. We (the Bucs) are going to step on them and over them on opening day!”
————-
Buc fans, I’d like to introduce you to Mr. Asiata and Mr. Taylor.
————
CAN’T WAIT FOR OPENING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have had a good draft. There’s is one of my favorites.
I know you’ll definitely be there live in Miami for that one….wish I was too.
That might be the dumbest post draft comments I’ve heard. Not you OD, whoever this TB doofus is. LOL
Dumb comment, typical fan base suckoff stuff
TB is going to be a really tough team, but I think we got what it takes to match them and I think our coaching is better
Not sure if you caught before…..but more than willing to be there with you for it.
Ledbetter gone
If the Fins want to do something really crazy they could draft this WR
Cannon, KD WR 5’11” 182 Baylor 5.3
He’s a tough little bastard! Kenny Stills clone!
Hey Jay Ajayi, hear what TB is saying, you’re all finesse, you too Landry and Co. LOL
What 13 picks to go before we land “the guy”? 😉
TIM: Tampa Bay fans have never gotten over their 10 consecutive years with 10 or more losses streak. Seems to have robbed them of their sanity.
————————–
The reality is that the Bucs @ Fins game on opening day will be played in extraordinarily hot and humid conditions. The team that channels its emotions most effectively (and doesn’t waste its emotions) should be the better team in the fourth quarter. And I sincerely believe this game WILL BE DECIDED in the final quarter.
————————-
CONDITIONING, CONDITIONING, CONDITIONING!!!
YOUNG STANGER: I’m counting on you on opening day. I believe it could be one of our most memorable opening day games of all time!
I’m in……don’t you get that light that tells you when people reply to your posts? Anyhow……we need to figure out how to meet up, but lots of time for that.
Conditioning for sure but seems like we lost a heat game cause it is them. Would be so much better if it was the Yets or Pats.
Patriots like them tall OT’s….took 6’8 307 Conor McDermott
Yeah just hold Wake and sit on him, we’re the Patriots. LOL
CBS gave the pick a D.
Drink lots of fluids OD….rocky mountain lite spring water 😉
What if Damien Williams gets an offer and we sign Jamaal Charles?
or
Just sign Jamaal for Petesakes!!!
and carry 4 RBs … it’s done all the time.
From way I hear it Jamal is pricing himself out if a job right now. Doesn’t want to do like AP and humble himself pay wise
same i heard but when spring training comes and goes and no contract he might soften up and he’d flourish in our scheme if he’s not too proud to split carries.
I just threw on the 4K channel and they have the Red Hot Chili Peppers on. Holy shit, the lead singer, Anthony Kiedis looks like Bill “The Butcher” Cutting. lol
gangs of New York was a very violent flick. sorta like our DL will be.
It sure was violent. Hope you’re right
hell….I say WTF……let’s hope for C TYLER ORLOSKY to be our final pick today…why not add some OL depth?……hope he’s still available by then…..zero in !
Toth is still there also
That’s because he’s still stuck in the mud. 😉
Lol did we just trade back?
What did we get from the trade back? A thank you card? Was it a 7th next year?
It looks like we traded back and picked up some later 7ths
D, we have the 19th pick, but that’s it. They must have given us a 7th next year

Dolphins traded their seventh-rounder (223rd) for Tampa’s seventh this year (237th) and their seventh in 2018.
Must have been Mikey or a player, because we traded back with the bucs who only had one 7th to trade
Well there ya go thanks wyo
Yeah, it would have to be next year’s, I doubt it was a player.
omg we got Stevie T!!!! Several of us on here have mocked that guy for us! he is 6’1 320!!!!
CBS says the above. WTF?
ok we did trade and he went to the Bucs.
That is good cuz we do not need a Middle Guard.
Nope, Buccaneers got him
MMMMMMMM Should we tell him?
You can tell me anything Bro. I’m not perfect.
Ahhh, thanks Wyo, that’s what I figured
just glad we didn’t trade to get that foul mouth skank back here…..lol.
You talking about the Waitress D drafted?
grimes wife is in TB now?
The board got dry for us. One more 7th and UDFAs are next. So we have a full draft and two extra 7ths next year. WooHoo!!!! LOL
we have the 237th
I said one more 7th.
Shit!
There goes my Kicker!
Well this bites I have to go to my sons Birthday @ Hooters!
Guess I’ll miss the pick!
It’s gonna be huge too. Let’s hope so. 🙂

With the selection of G Isaac Asiata, the Dolphins have now selected an offensive lineman in all 52 drafts in team history.
Whew! Thank goodness he was there.
NFL.com has Ford rated at 5.51, yet so many guys rated lower than him were picked before him. Any idea why?
Tim!
It’s Tim’s fault! 😉
LOL
He’s wussy.
NFL CBs will push him around. He’s compared to Justin Hunter … Not Good.
“Superb athlete with good height. Able to shake press coverage with quick jab step and sudden burst. Feet look spring-loaded underneath. Features big acceleration out of his breaks and is able to create easy throwing windows on slants and crossing routes. Varies route speed to disguise his intentions. Chomps up cushion with his speed and stems defenders into off-balance transitions and false steps. Sustains vertical danger throughout his routes. Can get up and over cornerbacks without appearance of much effort. Tracks the deep ball and has ball skills to finish. Works back to underthrown passes and is able to contort in mid-air to make the catch.” — CBS
He ran a 4.61 combine….but he’s a solid route runner and QB friendly with hands, fighting for contested balls, and tracking the ball.
Tim Knight says:

A big WR ends the day for us.
Reply
Big? He’s 6’1 194
Solid draft – Don’t be mad on me, but it was a little like an early Jeff Ireland draft. All meat and potatoes, no grilled octopus
ewwww
Don’t like grilled octopus? It’s delicious! Or ewww to Jeff Ireland?
Isaiah Ford | WR, Virginia Tech
Height: 6-1 Weight: 194
A receiver prospect with less than ideal speed, but put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and gets separation with his quickness, giving his QB windows to throw in. Very good value late in the seventh.
A+
Hmmm, some Landry like traits…..good depth.
So they have this guy if Landry leaves then?
WOW CBS gave us another A+. That is an amazing late run!
2 A’s and 2 A+’s in the late rounds.
ok well that is a mediocre pick, but you can’t expect much in the 7th round.
We did need another guy to shag passes in TC as we only had 6 WRs total on the roster.
All in all that was a magnificent 3-day draft. I am very happy with it overall. We are a better team.
I’m happy with the draft….can’t always get the guys that appeal to us fans when looking at combine #’s & college highlight reels….lol
This is the NFL, everything changes now!
I completely agree (for once;)). I loved our draft until the seventh. I wish we would have just gotten another late 7th for next year but I’ sure no one really wanted the leftovers either.

Speaking of Shrek….lol
Mason Schreck | TE, Buffalo
Height: 6-4 Weight: 258
A jack-of-all trades and master of none with good athleticism. Another depth TE for the Bengals.
C-
Okay we finished the draft with a tiny WR at 6-1 194. LOL
Mike, Really?Jeff Ireland. You dick! LOL
Round 6, Pick 10 (194) (From Eagles) Vincent Taylor DT 6’3″ 304 Oklahoma St. 5.3
Pick Analysis: Dolphins go back-to-back with defensive line selections to add competition to their front. Taylor gets after it on pass downs and can really deflate the pocket from the interior. Consistency is key in earning early rotational reps. –Mark Dulgerian
Did he he mean deviate or defecate? LMAO!!!!
i’m sure this will shock nobody…..but I loved this draft…..I truly see this team coming together and I like the direction they’re heading…..GO PHINS !…..ZERO IN !
