Game Wrap Up with the Little Prawn: Week 3

jets_dolphins

Ahh…the football season is under way ad early in the season we got the horrible jests…so easy win right?

Eh…right Prawny?

FU Prawn

Prawny…What’s wrong…it’s just the jests?

Oh…I see…yeah.  Not a lot of highlights on Sunday.

The Dolphins were horrible against the Jests mustering only 225 yards (most of them in the air and late in the game)

The Jets held the ball for 36:08 to the Dolphins 23:52 in what was a disaster.  The Dolphins narrowly avoided being shutout.  It was just ugly.  why re-live it.

D , not sure if was same play or not.. was on the drive where we gambled on 4-down inside the Jets 20.. i think was 3rd down,Cutler was scrambling forward , we needed 2 yds for 1st and he had at least 5-10 yards open to run , but he threw a bad placed pass into EZ incomplete

  12. Phindog's avatar Phindog says:

We lost this in the trenches on both sides of the ball… Plain and simple !! You can’t put this loss on just 1 guy. Our OLine sucked today and couldn’t open up rushing lanes or pass protect. Our front 4 on D couldn’t pressure the QB. Oh and our secondary was out of position quite a bit. We will fix this.. #GASEISPISSED !!!

  15. D's avatar D says:

The play I was talking about was a dropped pass by Landry. He got hands on it, and I don’t think there was another receiver around I was pretty sure of the play Tim was talking about and knew this was different but then it seemed like Tim jumped on it like it was the same play.

Doesn’t change the fact that this is the same argument that was made about Tanny, with no difference in the argument other than who is on what side of it.

I’m with you it’s an overreaction big time. We will see how well things bounce back. It’s not like we have much choice anyways.

Makes for a good REVENGE game for the Fest.. now lets get ready to take down the Saints

  18. D's avatar D says:

The NFL is a list closer team to team than people think. NY was at home, they had been challenged by their fans to not act as a team who had already given up, they have a players coach who is hanging on by a thread. This is a rivalry game. We walked into a trap and we couldn’t even correct ourselves to get the advantage back.

Give props to them, they played well, their defense swarmed us. We weren’t prepared, we had no energy, we sucked, plain and simple, but this was no gimme game and that’s probably where the first mistake, as fans and as a team, was made.

The bills are rebuilding but they just beat Denver who was 2-0. Jags just destroyed the Ravens with Bortles as their QB. The 0-2 bears beat the 2-0 Steelers. The 0-2 saints who have looked awful just beat the 2-0 Panthers with their Superman QB. The Vikings with a backup QB beat the team a lot think will challenge for a Superbowl, a team that on paper is way better than us, by double the points. Shit happens, we just were the recepient this time, and just like all those other teams, we deserved to lose.

You guys are overreacting. This was never going to be a perfect season. This was going to be a hopefully we get through it with some dignity. First game we we did that, this second we didn’t. Let’s see how a few more go before selling out the QB and therefore the teams chances to redeem itself.

  23. D's avatar D says:

I’d rather have that game now than later, we still have plenty of time to get it corrected and yeah I’m sure the QB room will be a ugly place Monday, or maybe already is tonight. Gase will probably have a good sit down with Cutler too, no so much to team him but probably to get his head straight so they can move on

    PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:
QB JAY CUTLER, 67.6 OVERALL GRADE
Cutler couldn’t get anything going down the field today. On throws targeted 20-plus yards downfield he was only 1-of-8 for 26 yards. Once pressure got to him, Cutler crumbled as well. He was pressured on 17 dropbacks and went 4-of-13 for 26 yards on those plays.

TE JULIUS THOMAS, 40.9 OVERALL GRADE
Thomas will have to add more in the receiving game for his sub-par run blocking to be able to see the field. He caught three passes on the day, but for only 16 yards and had a handful of play-ruining run blocks.

  28. naplesfan2010's avatar naplesfan2010 says:

DT DAVON GODCHAUX, 82.0 OVERALL GRADE

It was a very rough day at the office for Verner who managed only five snaps on the day. Of those, only two were in coverage, and of those one was an ugly 69-yard touchdown.

Still can’t believe Trump refered to the kneelers as son’s of bitches. I kinda feel that way about Kaepernick, because I do think believe him like i do a lot of if not most the others. It was bad enough to call for people to be fired because they expressed their right of free speech within the rules the NFL has set aside for player conduct. To add on the son’s of bitches part just made it classless on top of unamerican and not being his place to do that.

It would have been so much better had he just tweeted to the NFL asking that they try understand the feelings of the armed forces and veterans who are and have sacrificed for the rights they are electing to invoke, and instead join with him to have discussion that he could help facilitate between the community outreach groups and government officials capable of finding a middle ground for change.

I mean if he does that he stands up for patriotism and the military past and present and yet doesn’t attack and divide those two groups from one another and make a rediculosly anti-patriotic statement. Those people actually sacrificed for that right, so they can do it, know better than most would understand living in a country where you can lose your job because you invoke a fire freedom is against what they fought for

I hate to end a night with another statement about all this, but I’m still in shock that this shit even happened and extremely disappointed in our president. He seems really unstable, maybe even bipolar, that’s the kind of shit bipolar do when they are manic.

So what is this rumor that might explain this. A low blow to the nether region with Jay not wearing an athletic protector. It is also stated that most NFL players do not wear them. It would make sense in a loss of power just like in fighting if this did happen to him somehow or by someone as in a Jets player.

Once, a bottle hit me right in the back of the head! –I was OK but YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE DAMAGE MY HEAD DID TO THAT BOTTLE!!!

  50. D's avatar D says:

It’s not that the kneeling is or isn’t disrespectful to the military, some probably know and don’t care and some truly don’t see it that way.

I’d be standing, I have too much respect for the anthem, the country and the military to ever do that, but I’m also one of the people that sees it more than just a stage to bring attention to a cause, I see it as a reminder that being able to sit there and watch a game free of persecution came at a cost. Most the younger generation don’t even care or think about that, they aren’t “attached” to the sacrifices, they are more connected to the protest generation. They are children of idealism, they are the generation of what is my country doing for me, not what am I doing to support my country.

That said I don’t agree with the protests but how in hell can you agree with what Trump did and especially how he did it. That’s one step from a dictator with him controlling what people do or believe.

One thing I have learned in life is things of the heart cannot be controlled without severe repercussions. Religious persecution, what American is here due to, was one of those things and one of the reasons the Constitution was drafted to protect against what Trump just tried to do. Remove your anger for the protesters from this argument and I can’t see how anyone can agree with forcing them to stop.

Seriously this got amped up by what he did, not resolved. The people who united against him now are doing it for a whole other reason, they have an issue that many of them are really passionate about getting fixed, something deep in their heart and just like our history has shown, when backed into a corner people fight over those things. So next time you see a team disrespecting the anthem, like a whole team of them, thank this current president for that.

  51. D's avatar D says:

Son, team is about unity, there should be nothing wrong with them linking arms to express unity, that’s actually a really good representation of what should always be done when honoring the anthem. Unity is a good thing whether it be teammates, or amongst a unit (note this is the root of unity) of soldiers, or a country of people. I’d be proud to link arms with my team and stand for the anthem.

  52. D's avatar D says:

There were a few bizarre upsets this week. The Ravens got their asses handed to them in London against the Jaguars 44-7, The Bills beat the Broncos 26-16, Bears beat the Steelers 23-17, and the Vikes beat the Bucs 34-17. I really think our mindset is what makes this loss worse than it is. We all bought into the Jets are just so bad, but they have talent on that defense, they most certainly do. We all thought they packed it in and were looking to get that #1 pick in the draft, but the Jets are a division team, and I’m not sure if Gase and company underestimated them too, but maybe they did. Once they stopped our run game, we were done. We had no answer. So many say it was Cutler, but did we come up with something that put the Jets on the defensive in the 2nd half? Nope, we just couldn’t execute well.

Cutler was bad, but he only turned the ball over once. We were down 10-0 at half, and promptly went down 20-0 in the 3rd quarter. Halftime adjustments? Uh-uh. We just got beat, it’s our SECOND game of the season, with a new QB who didn’t get a lot of practice, and yes, he was a flawed QB, that’s why why he was available to us after Tanny got hurt. Is he worse than ever? I don’t buy that shit for a second. His situation coming in to start this season may have been the worst, because he had less practice and less time to prepare, especially since it was with a new team and anew offense, although Cutler was familiar with the premise of the offense.

I juts saw an awful lot of overreaction from some of you who are normally more even keel. It’s fine, it just surprised me. Cutler would have been fine yesterday if we had some balance, but the Jets completely shut down the run game, and made us one dimensional. I’ve seen so many games when that happened to us with Tannehill, and folks, the results were any better, and sometimes a lot worse. It’s just not a good formula for success, this early, with a QB playing his 2nd game with a new team.

Can we give Cutler a chance? For those of you who say “Trust in Gase”, do you really think Gase would start Cutler if Matt Moore were better suited to help us win? If Cutler is starting next week, there’s a reason, and it’s beyond financial ramifications, it’s because he’s the best QB we have.

I know this is a very volatile topic, but I have to say, just like Trump likes to turn to twitter to get attention for the things he’s saying, the best way for these players to get a point across is to “protest” when everyone is watching. The players insist they are not doing this to disgrace the military in any way, and they are definitely getting a message out, because everyone’s talking about it, much like people discuss Trump threatening Kim Jong Un. If it’s out there, and it’s getting recognition, then the message is out there.

I didn’t blame Cutler for the loss. The entire offense looked out of sync and the defense was on the field too long on a very hot day. My point on Cutler is he didn’t look right. His arm didn’t have the velocity I’m used to seeing from him. I’m worried that he’s not the same QB he once was.

I talked to a friend of mine last night who is also a Dolphins fan and he thought the same thing watching the game, that Cutler no longer has his fast ball. He compared it to when Marino could no longer throw the deep out without it being picked off. Marino had some kind of nerve damage issue going on, but remember Cutler had shoulder surgery in the offseason and maybe his arm isn’t the same. That’s just the way it looked it to me. The best we can hope for is that he’s still rusty and not at full strength. My fear is that it’s not going to get any better. I hope I’m wrong.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      Cutler specifically looked bad

its not blaming one person to point that out. Fact is he looked bad.

Honestly I think going deep on early downs early in the game can go open up the running game. I think they were so committed to run ajayi I became easy to stop

  70. Rhino's avatar Rhino says:

Tunsil and Cutler both made statements about the loss: “we practice shitty all week”…

  71. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Tannehill has stunk it up just as bad many, many times, and all we ever heard is how it was everybody else’s fault. Funny. The same thing happens to Cutler(no running game, no TOP, crappy playcalling, poor protection, nobody catching balls), and he sucks. If Tanny played yesterday, absolutely nothing would have been different….except he would have been sacked 4 times and thrown 2 INTs.
    ***
Expectations for this mediocre team have been way too high. A playoff berth after beating up on every bad team in the league and people are thinking this team is better than they are. Tanny isn’t the sort of QB that makes big plays or makes others better, so him being out means next to nothing.
    ***
And on Gase, he needs to do better. This team has looked unprepared, unfocused and lethargic two weeks in a row. Where is the discipline? Gase isn’t getting it done. Period.

  72. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Randy, I don’t think the team looked unprepared, unfocused and lethargic in LA. Yesterday yes.

I completely understand what you are saying OCRob and I hope you didn’t take what I said as a you are wrong, I’m right thing,

I’m just saying what went down went down in the worst way possible. It’s a country of freedoms and we cant pick and choose which ones in which situation they are invoked.

Freedom is and always has been a double edged sword, but I’d rather have to suffer through the bad to even have the possibility of having the good just to know it’s there.

I hope that makes sense, and it’s completely understandable and within your rights to not support them if they are not aligned as you see they should be. It’s just not the president’s right to call for firing the son’s of bitches that kneel and invoke a freedom of their own

  74. D's avatar D says:

Locking arms to me is the best protest. When Seattle did it I tweeted to the team that I was proud of how they handled it. This is when I was still pretty damn mad at Stills, Thomas and Jenkins. Once I stepped outside myself I started getting that done are actually legit and they just want better and there is nothing wrong with that in fact it’s kind of honorable that they are standing up for others. I still didn’t feel good about those guys until I saw them follow through with trying to bring cops and community together. IMO you can say what ya want about what they are doing, you don’t have to feel good about it, but it does help thinking about it individual to individual, because some of those guys have their hearts in the right spot

    • D's avatar D says:

The locking arms send the best statement. We are one people standing together instead of dividing ourselves, and we still stand for the anthem, but as united Americans and not individuals with individual agendas

It absolutely was the right move. You play on a team and should be team first. Politics can figure its own stuff out.

  75. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
I missed about a quarter or so of the SD game, but we looked bad in the first half. They picked it up….mostly because of Cutler…in the second half, but it was still a pretty blah performance overall. And this is all with the caveat that I expect our offense to struggle for a month or so. Winning because their rookie kicker sucked made it feel better, but it was still a very uneven performance, in my eyes. I know we’ve had to deal with a lot, but that should be behind us by week 3. The yets came ready to play. We did not. We weren’t even competitive. That’s BS. Losing happens. Getting your ass handed to you by that team is inexcusable. I hope to see more passion and intensity next week.

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Way I look at it Randy is we were the dog in one game and won. And then we were the favorite in the next and loss. So 1-1 is about where we should be. Oddly enough though, D looked about what you would expect last game. The O with all those skill weapons failed.

  76. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy,
There were lots of posts about Tannehill, so don’t tell me to give it a rest. I’ll post what I like….just as you do.

  77. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

This team looks very similar to the team we had early last year. They might be able to fix it and make a run later in year but I highly doubt we make the playoffs because our schedule is a lot tougher. Anything over 6 wins I say is a good year.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I think they need to ripen up the offense a little
      Throw deep on early downs
I want to be a run heavy team but it seemed predictable to me yesterday

On defense, I really think the middle of the field is open so much bc our LBs aren’t in the passing lanes, maybe that changes when he Timmons/Alexander dust settles. It’s early. We will see.

  78. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Tim,
The Tannehill stuff started yesterday. I didn’t start it. For me, it was a comparison about how we would have done if Tannehill was playing as opposed to Cutler. Tannehill does still matter. He’s still a part of the team. It was just interesting to me that so many people go out of their way to make excuses for Tannehill. But, Cutler has a poor game, and it’s all his fault, which it wasn’t. And it was never all Tannehill’s fault either….but that doesn’t mean he didn’t suck ass many times, individually. So, again, tons of posts about how Tannehill would be better…he’s a better QB….Cutler sucks, and nobody’s told to shut up. I post once about it, and I’m told to give it a rest. Fuck that.

Disliking my posts and telling me to shut up about something are two different things. Dislike all you want…argue with me all you like….call me a fucker even….but don’t tell me what I should or shouldn’t post. It’s not your place….at least as far as I know.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      “Agreed…fucker”

Does that make you feel better? What difference does it make if i tell you to give it a rest when I’m not actually doing anything to stop you? You know you can keep posting all you like no matter what I reply with.

It’s an insufferable conversation Randy. I’m trying to give you feedback. Maybe some one agrees with you. Maybe some one doesn’t. My point of view is that I would rather stick needles in my eyes than hear about what Tannehill would have done. thats just feedback

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        For the record
I value your input on most subjects. Not trying to attack you. Just saying I don’t get the point of Tannehill discussions

  82. ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

    So…..

Timmons went to a Stealer practice and was in locker room?? WTF. How is this not grounds for termination? How can the Dolphins not be able to fire his ass and get their $$ back?

    • ElephantRider's avatar ElephantRider says:

And how does the Stealer organization allow this? WTF

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t know if you know something I don’t on this

But I don’t think the Dolphins are searching for grounds for termination. They can waive Timmons if they want to – but they will take a cap hit, without even seeing him on the field and that doesn’t scratch the surface of the problem with the talent on the roster.

Timmons and Alexander together might mike quite a difference to our defense

Middle of the field is always wide open
and I really think QBs have wide open passing lanes to throw through

  83. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy,
I guess with all the posts I read since yesterday that had a lot of chatter about Tannehill/Cutler I didn’t think I was the only one talking about it. My post was more saying: Hey, Tannehill has sucked plenty of times too when everything around him was shit. Let’s not be too hasty to paint Cutler as this or that just yet, and I’ve already said when they signed him that I was never a big fan of Cutler. He’s been inconsistent his whole career. But, I saw a team lose yesterday…not a QB….and yes, Cutler did have a bad game…just like a lot of other players and coaches did.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Sorry if I came out a little strong on it

I criticized Cutler myself. We will be able to see what he is in the next few weeks. and yes the rest of the team was 💩 – but cutler was also 💩

Honestly early in he season I’m hesitant to make any assessments of what the next few weeks hold

A lot of weird games yesterday: raiders, Ravens, Broncos and Dolphins all disappointed yesterday

  84. Randy's avatar Randy says:

    Piggy
Yeah, I said last week that I expect our offense to struggle for a few weeks. I didn’t think they’d look as bad as they did yesterday, but you can’t bring in a new QB a few weeks before the season and expect things to go smoothly right away. Cutler was gunshy yesterday, and he didn’t get much help from anyone. The OL was pathetic yesterday, for one….lots of catches not made too. I’m not sure Gase knows quite how to call a game for Cutler with this team yet. We aren’t built to play from behind…most teams aren’t.
    ***
I also think it was just one of those wacky weeks in the NFL. We usually get one or two a year.

  85. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Maybe Cutler was going through dead arm syndrome. It tends to happen to QBs at some point during TC due to all the reps. Maybe Cutler is dealing with that now because he came in late and had no OTAs etc.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t remember him being the kind of bad he was yesterday

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I agree. It wasn’t his decisions that bothered me so much as he looked like he couldn’t make throws. He never had a season where he came in late like he did so it’s different than any other season he’s had. He did have shoulder surgery in the offseason so who knows if that has something to do with it, arm fatigue, age or all of that. He didn’t throw the ball down the field very much in LA it was mostly short stuff (Landry 13 receps) and a lot of handing off to Ajayi. But there were a few throws he made that made me say Jay where’s the arm? Yesterday I saw a lot of more of that. That’s my concern.

      • D's avatar D says:

He most certainly has had moments that bad, if not worse. The best case for an “ive never seen something so bad from Tanny” you could make would be that Tanny’s throws have always had more zip than Cutlers did when he was throwing off his back foot. We also haven’t seen any strip sacks from Cutler that killed a drive and gave them the ball back, which we have seen multiple time in a single game with Tanny.

Good with the bad, or there shouldn’t be an argument at all. One bad game, and every phase of the offense was horrible. No one helped the others out. Just like MikeE was saying, its an overreaction the like of we have seen plenty of other times with the people on one side of it now on the other.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        I don’t think you see what I mean D.

There were a couple of times when he avoided pressure and had a wide open receiver where the ball would just land in a place that was nowhere near the receiver.

there were times when the ball was really uncatchable to anyone

Cutler has been plagued by bad decision making his whole career – but yesterday, he did not seem physically capable of throwing the football the way the position demands.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s what I’m saying Piggy. Not sure why some people are having a hard time with that point. It’s as if we didn’t see what were seeing and we’re making it up. I’m not ragging on Cutler’s performance and blaming him for a bad game. It was his mechanics that has me concerned.

  86. D's avatar D says:

Piggy i think he is picking up where the last part of the previous blog and the first part of this blog was at when you had a few people saying that Cutler isnt the answer and Cutler needs to go, and they didn’t see how it was ever going to get better with him. Im not sure how Randy adding his opinion to the mix that was thrown around yesterday should be met with such angst. Its a moot point, but it was yesterday too, so if we let other ride with their opinions, why not Randy?

    ———————————-
Ill assume he had to have their permission to do this, or it may be that when suspended they rules are that you are just a civilian and able to attend games as if you were a fan of the team. Granted most fans dont get invited into the locker room, but celebs sometimes do. Im sure there is some tampering rules here that might apply IF he wasnt indeed given permission. His contract language should include something about it being a conflict of interest at the least.

    • D's avatar D says:

We had an awful game, period. Look at the Raiders though. That team is STACKED, defense and offense and they looked as bad if not worse than us against the Skins, and the Skins werent thought to have given them much opposition, same as the Jets. In fact that game is probably comparable to ours, just scaling down both sides some. Shit happens, dust yourself off and get back out there.

  91. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

D, you’re still trying to make what I said something I’m not talking about. I know other people who saw the same thing that I saw. It’s about his arm, not a bad performance. It’s like taking away Nolan Ryan’s fast ball and asking him to be the same pitcher he once was. I felt bad for Cutler yesterday because I saw a guy who doesn’t have the same arm anymore. If you read some of my other posts about it, I’m trying to come up with some explanations. I’m not excusing the bad performance from other players on offense. They didn’t play well. I thought the defense was playing well until they started being on the field way too long. That always catches up with you.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

If you are saying there is a possibility his arm is not the cannon that it used to be – then you saw it as I did

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah and I know others who said the same thing not on this blog. Nobody was saying Cutler sucks just because, many people were saying where’s his arm?

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I want to give him time
and I know he has pros and cons

but without the big arm – what’s the point
and what I saw yesterday worries me

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s what I’m saying. I’m concerned, not bashing him. I’ve supported him since we brought him in. I still support him and hope it’s just a dead arm.

Remember the hail mary he threw at the end of the half in LA? Even if the call was to throw it out of bounds and not get a pick and maybe a return, the pass looked horrible.

    • D's avatar D says:

You were the only one calling it to be his arm, most everyone here was saying he threw off his back foot and didnt get anything on his throws. Also, how do you know it had nothing to do with anything other than his arm. Isn’t he short practice reps? Couldnt the pressure and not getting set before you throw make your passes off and your throws not have zip, i know it has for Tanny. Why cant that be the same reasoning here?

I watched him, his arm wasn’t as lively as in the first game, and maybe he was still recouping from that since its the most he has thrown since last season in Chicago, but you don’t just lose arm strength, barring injury from one game last week to now without there being other factors at play.

Also strengthening your argument because someone else backs you isnt a good argument, i have people backing mine, at least as many as you have yours, am i all the sudden right? All i have asked you to do is look to your own previous comments on why its too early to start labeling Tanny with shortcomings, and he wont ever this or that, look to your insistence that its overreaction to think like that, and just heed your own warnings.

I agree with what you said about Tannehill and Cutler, and NO, you don’t have to ask anyone’s permission on what you want to post. I said the same damn thing about 5 times already. If Cutler doesn’t look good in one game, I don’t see how he’s done, his arm isn’t right, or anything like that. He played poorly, he was constantly throwing off balance. Gee, do you think that might affect the velocity on his throws? Fuck yeah it will! If you want to say his mechanics sucked yesterday, I would agree with that, because he was either throwing off his back foot, or throwing on the run, which can also affect your accuracy and velocity, especially if it’s not something you work on often.

  95. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I give up. I’ve seen Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Drew Brees have bad games, but it wasn’t because of something with their arm. So I’ll continue to be concerned about what I saw with my own eyes and yes others saw the same thing, and some of you guys can discuss Tanny having bad games or whatever that has nothing to do with what I’m saying. It’s a waste of time.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

All those guys have been in the same offense with the same coaches forever. Cutler came in about a month ago, is still getting familiar with his receivers, the offense, and this is week 2 on this team. It was likely going to be a bad game for him. When the run game couldn’t get going, and we were going to pass all day, it wasn’t a recipe for a good passing day. He was off because his mechanics were poor on almost every throw. Some of that may have been he was spooked by pressure he may have assumed was going to be there, and sometimes there really was pressure. He was very uncomfortable, that much all of us can agree on. When you’re uncomfortable, and you rush, bad mechanics happen, and I think they happened all day. You want to say it’s arm strength, we’ll have to wait and see on that opinion. If he’s firing lasers next week, we’ll know. If he’s throwing ducks next week also, then he either needs to clean up his mechanics, or maybe his arm really is bothering him. I just think it’s way too early to make that diagnosis

Report wss during the “bye” before he went AWOL
    ——————————————-
Might be why he was going AWOL. This is starting to really sound bad.

So during the “BYE”, players can attend other AFC teams and go into the team facilities. Again, this seems borderline tampering, assuredly conflict of interest, maybe even violation of no-compete depending on how they have that drawn up.

It would be like a engineer at Coke, taking their new 0 sugar Coke formula to visit his engineering buddies at Pepsi and they brought him in with all the other people at Pepsi and they “hung out” behind closed doors in their board room.

Throw in the AWOL part and it would be like that Coke Engineer then getting ready for the first release of Coke 0 and bailing on that first release, only to be found out to have been preparing to go visit family in what happened to be the same town that he just happened to be at the previous week when he met with all the Pepsi execs.

Throw in the indefinite suspension and hiring of an replacement engineer, doesn’t sound to me like there was any knowledge that he visited the Pepsi people the week before, and maybe it just got back to the Coke execs, who then were planning to hold him out of the initial release before investigating and suspending him anyways, and the only reason that he hasn’t been straight up fired yet is possibly because he knows the Coke 0 formula and they need to get some Lawyers to draft up something to keep him from giving Pepsi the formula once he is fired and so they can get back some of the money they had used to hire him in the first place.

  97. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Tim, Piggy

Both of you do realize Cutler didn’t have mini camp, training camp, and the entire pre season right? It’s like a pitcher coming back from retirement starting his 2nd game after missing all of spring training but 2 games. You have to give it some time.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I said that already. QBs go through a dead arm period during camp with all the reps. He started late so maybe that’s it and he’s going through it now. The throws I’m talking about is when he had no pressure there was no life to his passes. He was throwing sinker balls and some passes just hung up there with no direction. Again, I’m concerned not ripping on the guy. I felt bad for him.

Not one of them taking a knee is going to spend not even a moment do anything to fix shit. They are all content with their big fat fucking pay checks.

  99. D's avatar D says:

Given he was said to still have a very strong arm by everyone in PS (coaches, players, reporters, etc) i would guess its arm fatigue more than anything, which means it will improve as the season goes on and his arm becomes more accustomed to it. He didnt have the normal prep time to get ready, and even as some FA’s might have been at least staying in some kind of shape and conditioning their arms, he wasnt planning on needing to, so its probably surprising he is where he is. First game his arm was live, this game, some of it was not planting or throwing off back foot, but his arm is probably fatigued too.

When i use to work out it would take a few weeks for me to come back from a lay off, get a good tear down and bounce back to where i could start gaining strength again. Id usually spend the first week having regressed from the first workout even, second week back, i might be back to where i was, and third week i could start to see some movement in the right direction. All we are saying is chill bro, give yourself a breather before rushing to judgement.
