Forget the matchups, forget who’s playing where, forget how many PPG we have or they have, forget about all of that. I’m not wasting my time researching that crap when this team does one thing consistently, underdeliver. NO ONE on this team is living up to the back of his football card (You can all debate that if you like) What this team needs to do, and I don’t care how Gase has to get them to do it, is come out, and smack some team in the mouth. As soon as they get on the field, impose their will, and show that team this is not going to be their day. Not once this season has this team beat up on anyone. We haven’t enjoyed one victory where it was a clear cut win where we were firing on all cylinders. Instead we’ve had to endure at least 2-3 quarters of WTF! football almost every game.
Sunday we host a team playing as poorly as us. I know the ANY GIVEN SUNDAY deal, but it’s time for this team to show a sign of life, and kick someone’s teeth in! We have been beaten down and shut out and embarrassed and undressed and tied to motorboats and have the fishes eat at us, but ENOUGH! Time for this team to give us a game where they kick ass from start to finish, a good old fashioned ass kicking BLOWOUT!
I’m not going to post the usual slogans on the bottom, GO DOLPHINS! Zero in! I think they take that too literally, and they’re trying so hard to get zero.
Chase Allen also left the Bucs game with a concussion. So we’ve taken a few hits at LB.
I wonder how many snaps per injury we got out of McMillan and Anthony
0 on McMillan. He was hurt on his first special teams play of the preseason. Before the Defense ever took the field. 😦 I was like 50 feet from him when he went down and was like “WHAT HAPPENED!!?” He never got touched.
He got blocked into his teammate on the STs play.
I think he collided with another Dophins player on the punt coverage team.
I owe MF13SS two beers today.
I know McMillan got hurt on the kickoff, I meant both combined. It can’t be pretty
HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL
Happy Thanksgiving to YOU, O-Rob!
Happy Thanksgiving Rob!
It would seem mcmillon and anthony will be great LBers in the future for us
For how many plays? 😉

Same thing happening in Miami after a playoff appearance in Gase’s first season
I’ts not our record i’m concerned with, I understand injuries and the side shows played a factor.
it’s our offensive philosophy that has me worried about gase and the future
off for my pre turkey round of golf, see you guys later, Ocala Municipal here i come!
BTW i walked out of my home yesterday and there was a freak’n BAT hanging in my porch!
First time i had ever seen a BAT, I shewed him away and he dive bombed me! later on i went out looking for him and he did it again! haven’t seen him today….shaking nervously!!!!
They’re harmless, man. Just don’t literally corner them or they’ll bite… then ya have to worry about rabies. I’ve played with bats in the past an let them walk on my arms.
MF-13. I know we cut Ray. That opened the spot. Then we promoted Smith for the bucs then released him to clear up the spot for Neville for the pats and resigned Smith Back to the PS..
I’m thinking of trying this one, this sounds like it’s exactly what I’m looking for . . .
When I was in Mexico last month there were bats everywhere at night. One hit me right in the face while I was walking the path at the resort toward the restaurant. I told my brother when we sat down about it and he called BS on me saying that there is no way a bat hit me because they are like acroBATS and can fly around anything. When we were leaving diner a bat hit him in the chest and I smacked it out of the air after it bounced off him into me.
LOL, sounds like it’s sonar malfunctioned. Perhaps it was eating fermented berries?!!
I used to drink this back in the day, mixed with Frozen Run white birch beer. Mix it about 50-50 and you’ve got some good $#!t. It tastes good, too.
If I were going to drink Jim Beam, I’d probably try the Devil’s Cut. I don’t want to mix it, I want to sip it.
Yes, good call on the Devil’s Cut for sipping.
Devil’s cut is a marketing ploy. It is the DREGS that are vacuumed out of the wood of the barrels. (the liquor that seeps into the wood) I can’t imagine it would be better than the, you know, ACTUAL STUFF they were making in said barrels.
I try to make HURRICANE ETHYL every New Year’s Eve… good stuff.
— 151 Bacardi dark
— Bacardi light
— Triple sec
— Pineapple juice
This is DEFINITELY made for sipping.
Rock – It has more of the woodsy, charred flavor. No ploy

Couple Dolphins news items: Chase Allen took first team reps at mike linebacker, remains Dolphins starter for now… Jesse Davis was right guard, with sidelined Bushrod week to week with foot injury.
Man, this season seemed to fly by. It seems like it was only 11 weeks long this year…….
I am willing to serve her pork this Thanksgiving
Mike, Maker’s Mark is pretty good and the red wax seal is fun to peel off
Thanks Sonny! I had to go out to get a few things for my black bean soup, and there’s a liquor store attached, so I went for the Woodford Reserve Cherry Smoked Barley. Can’t wait to break that baby open!
Deon Lacey was the one who collided with McMillan when he injured his knee.

#Dolphins currently have 12 former Pro-Bowlers in-house (Cutler, Bushrod, POUNCEY, J. Thomas, LANDRY, Suh, Wake, Timmons, R. JONES, Verner, Parkey, and DENNEY), and only drafted 4 of them (in caps). Collective average age: 30.3
Time to DRAFT better. #FinsUp

Co$t of these 8 former Pro-Bowlers who weren’t drafted by the #Dolphins in 2017? Just over $50M.
Lots of young players on the team that are just getting started or that have had setbacks. Let’s see in 2 or 3 years.
Rob, you did see Gase’s offense work in Denver right. I know it was peyton but the running game was a part of it. Gase sticks to the run game more than Sherman and Lazor. I’m not worried about that if we can be more effective running it. He’ll roll with it when it’s working and sometimes even when it’s not he’ll stick with it. He’s done that this year.
Mike – Can’t go wrong with Woodfords. The Jim Beam you posted is mixin’ whiskey and the, as Rock Said, the Devil’s cut isn’t worth drinking unless you want to re-live your frat boy days.
If you can find it, Filibuster is good and the the Jack Daniels single barrel is passable. Some other candidates are High West Prairies Wihiskey, Michter’s, Breckenridge, Blanton’s, and Yellowstone. All about $40-$50 a bottle.
We NEED a Pro-Bowl caliber QB (whether it be Tannehill or a drafted QB in ’18)
We HAD a Pro-Bowl RB in Ajayi
We HAVE (at least for this year) a Pro-Bowl WR in Jarvis
We MUST get to a top-10 O-Line
We NEED a ‘QB of the Defense’ (maybe Raekwon is that guy, maybe not)
We HAVE an elite player(s) at every positional unit
We SHOULD address CB in the ’18 Draft what with our ineptitude
I’m wondering if Matt Burke is in over his head? Our Defense is astounding on paper with its personnel, but they are drastically under-performing and under-coached.
How long have these guys played together on defense?
I can’t accept that as an answer, man… that’s too optimistic for even me. We are BLEEDING points (7th worst in the league) and it’s absolutely unacceptable. We can’t pressure the QB and we can’t get any turnovers, to boot.
Okay but real good defenses don’t come together overnight. Our offense has also hurt them time and time again. Remember those points also include our offense turning it over and putting them in bad spots. We might not have a win if it wasn’t for the defense.
We have a broken team that was not what it was supposed to be and the injuries keep coming.
However I agree we have not done a good job forcing turnovers. But I think part of that is because of the offense. Burke can’t play too risky because he has no idea when we’ll fucking score. LOL
I’ll NEVER understand why we didn’t draft my man Desmond King. He can do it ALL from boundary CB, to nickle CB, to Safety, to kick and punt returns. He’s viscous against the run and even better when the ball is in the air.
Carl Lawson looking good too

Happy Thanksgiving humans
Thanksgiving is a good day to review your poor choices in eating pork
turkeys are jerks and delicious. Enjoy!
Happy Thanksgiving, Pig!
Suckling pig is delish!
Do you think we’d be bad with the 2nd team?
Mike E…Woodford Reserve is currently my favorite sippin’ whiskey of that type (not considering scotch, tequila, rum, or vodka as whisky) My other favorite is Knob Creek.
That’s great to hear Naples, because that’s what I got. I should have realized you’d be a bourbon man too. My mistake

Do you think we’d be bad with the 2nd team?
I think that looks like a very good corps… on paper, of course. But what do I know, I thought our Defense as a whole was going to be top-5… we’re so far away from that. 😦
Who is the elite player at CB….unless you’re saying Jones is our elite guy in the defensive backfield. I tend to separate S and CB. Also, I think this defense could possibly look very different in 2 years.
Is Suh here? If he’s let go for cap reasons, do the somewhat promising rookie DTs step up when Suh isn’t in there making their lives easier….or does their play level off?
Will Wake still be an effective pass rusher? If not, does anybody else become a yearly 10+ sack kind of guy? Nobody looks up to that right now. We also currently have nobody on the team who has practice fen they can play his position, especially like he does.
Do our young CBs improve? They aren’t exactly great right now. Tankersley has leveled off sharply. What’s Lippett come back like? They are all just kinda…meh.
Is Timmons still here? When Raekwon returns, is he the player people hope? People HOPE he’s good, but we have no idea yet. The whole LB unit is kinda up in the air…other than Kiko i’d guess….and he can’t cover my aunt. She runs a mean 5.8.
I think those are some of the questions we may be figuring out in a couple years. This defense consistently gives up big plays at bad times and are just as inconsistent as they’ve been for years. They have had moments, but I still don’t trust them to shut down a team when it matters.
Yes, I’m going by the DB unit as coached by Lou Anarumo, and Reshad is the elite player I’m referring to, bud.
ALL of your points are valid above. We’re going to have to draft very well over the next 2 years in lieu of age and salary. As we’ve seen, FA doesn’t buy championships.
Those are just some things i’ve thought about as I watch the defense this year. I think they definitely have played good at times, but there have been just as many where they went belly-up. All or none of those scenarios may be considerations in the near future…who knows? I’m just thinking on things. I don’t think it’s bleak or anything, but we need them to play better on a more consistent basis.
T.J. McDonald may also be close to elite next year. We have to hope Lippett comes back completely healthy and takes off where he left off when he last played. Howard and Tank both have to improve, and hopefully they will. McCain has had a pretty good season after a slow start
I see high hopes for our defense in 2018.
Without knowing who will be back on stopgap vet deals but can still play, here’s how I see it playing out.
Let them play together longer and see it jell more. The offense has to match them.
McDonald has looked pretty good for the most part. He is really good in coming up and hitting guys. His coverage skills may be a little shaky. Man, wouldn’t it be great to have 2 top end Safeties? We haven’t had a really good safety on the backend in a while.
It sure as hell would! If one of the CB’s could me consistently good, it could really be a great secondary
Any O-Linemen standing out for you this year in college?
I see Wisconsin’s Tackle David Edwards and Iowa’s Guard Sean Welsh have only given up 1 sack each all season.

More Rigel Spikes Retweeted Pro Football Focus
“Over the last two seasons combined when Matt Moore is under pressure, he has a passer rating of 84.8. That is second-best for healthy quarterbacks behind Tom Brady.” #Dolphins
According to the data I have in front of me, there’s only 1 O-Lineman in the NCAA (Division I) who hasn’t allowed a single pressure all year (minimum of 250 snaps). His name is Trey Martin, C, Rice, Senior, 6’2″, 300 pounds.
Can’t wait to get a hold of his tape; I need to know if he can run-block.
Keep in mind that often times and especially in college that centers don’t face elite pass rushers. Still an interesting stat to check out
Great Research MF13.
Rice (C-USA West) is a good program, but not top tier competition (They lost to Stanford 62-7.) nor even second tier (They even lost to Old Dominion.)
I am leery of trying to upgrade guys into the NFL from that far down in the talent pool.
To me a Center who allows a 5 sacks against the SEC is more likely to succeed in the NFL, because there won’t be that transition year or three where they are adjusting to the DTs from LSU or USC with multiple rush moves and experience in major Bowl Games.
Not that Trey Martin is not a good prospect worth looking at, I’m just tired of so many of our guys being developmental. Especially, you want a Center who can take charge and make the line calls and get to the second level without getting run over in pass pro or stood up in the run game by the bigs in the NFL trenches.
Woodford reserve is a great burbon. My favorite for the money that is. Maker’s Mark is pretty good too in the same price range
Knob Creek 100 proof is also a full flavored bourbon whisky with a wicked first hit and a nice burn.
Happy Thanksgiving you bunch of turkeys 🦃
Have s great day, enjoy
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.
We here in America have so much to be thankful for.
I’m thankful to have a blog to read that has such a high football IQ.
You all enrich my Dolphins fan experience and I’m thankful for that.
Happy Thanksgiving All!
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! Enjoy this holiday and remember why we celebrate as much.
My festivities don’t kick off until this late afternoon/evening with the fam, so I’m going to be doing more O-Line research today in the college ranks. Call it a labor of love!
NAPLES: I GENERALLY agree with your view of taking a college center from the SEC or the BIG 10 or another of the Top conferences over someone from Conference USA. Perhaps the same view is held on running backs, too. But, don’t forget, Alfred Morris, a small back out of FAU, ran for over 1800 yards as a rookie with the Redskins, and got over 1000 yards, I believe, his second year before getting picked up by the Cowboys and stuck behind Ezekiel Elliott.
Devin Singletary, the current star back for FAU, has Morris-type size (5’9″, 200 LBS) but is much faster than Alfred ever was. His 25 touchdowns leads Division I by a wide margin. And, with 3 games to go this season (counting a bowl game), he has a realistic chance of TOPPING 30 touchdowns! I’d take him in a heartbeat. But he’s only a SOPHOMORE!!
i look for Singletary to finish between #10 and #20 in the upcoming Heisman balloting. Next year, barring injury, he’ll finish much higher!
And, as for C-USA O-Linemen, there MAY be some bargains available in the mid to later rounds. I’ll be watching the bowl games VERY CAREFULLY, as I expect you will, too! Some FAU senior linemen, who have been opening holes for Singletary, might be available in the later rounds or as UDA’s.
yeah now RB is a position along with a few others (kickers and punters) (even QB, shockingly) where you can find good value in smaller schools.
A RB is far more of an independent operator than most other positions, which require max teamwork, And any kid with fresh legs, a burst, and a make-ya-miss wiggle can get yards.
although as we saw with Ajayi, problems still arise with those “big fish in a small pond” RBs who get to the NFL and want their usual 25 carries, no blocking assignments, and no pass catching (see Alfred Morris).
Picking up where I left off last night at the Center position. Arkansas’ Frank Ragnow is a pleasure to watch. MY notes…
— 6’5″, 319
— Team captain
— Dude can pull fairly well, wish he was a tad faster, though (I’m being picky, here)
— Consistently gets to the second level
— He can maul, but I’d like to see it more often. Very physical and pancake maker
— Seems exceptionally alert on every play
— Sometimes doesn’t finish off his assignment (coachable)
— Has the ability to open up big holes for the RB
— Doesn’t wear down by the 4th Qtr, maybe even gets stronger
— Holds his ground very well vs pass-rushing DTs (has allowed only 1 pressure all year on 189 snaps: out for the rest of the season with a high ankle sprain that needs minor surgery). He’s never given up a sack in his college career.
— Not a 1-trick pony: he can run-block AND pass-block
Ragnow has played RG for the Razorbacks (all 13 games as a sophomore in 2015). Thus, he has the positional versatility that we like.
If Ragnow kills the Combine and proves he’s back 100%, he’s a late 2nd/early 3rd Rounder, IMO. He could replace Pouncey at C or transition back to RG. As an SEC player, he’s seen some of the very best DTs over the last 4 seasons… and has never allowed a sack.
He’s on the cusp of becoming a “man-crush” for me; he’s a beast.
PS: he might be ready to go for the Senior Bowl.
PSS: Ragnow is an honor roll student, chose Arkansas over offers from Ohio State and Florida State, and I’m here to tell y’all he’s a day 1 starter in the NFL.
