I can’t get enough of this running back class this year. So many good ones, from the top tier which I have as Barkley, Michel and Guice to the Day 2 and Day 3 guys.
One interesting back that has caught my psychic eye is Kalen Ballage, The Arizona State Running Back.

The Positives: He’s another big back available in the 2018 draft. At 6-3, 230 pounds the Arizona State Senior is a lot to bring down. Ballage is a very good athlete, that large frame is pretty well spread out on a big body.
There were times when Ballage took over games at ASU including a 2016 game vs Texas Tech where he scored eight touchdowns. YES EIGHT! That actually tied a college football record. Seven of those touchdowns were on the ground on only 13 carries. In that game when you gave the ball to Ballage he was more than 50% likely to score.
Ballage had an impressive 44 receptions in junior season. He’s quite a versatile back. He runs well, he catches the ball well. Ballage actually had a bunch of direct snaps out of the wildcat at ASU and was very productive.

The Negatives: Despite that impressive single game vs Texas Tech, Ballage doesn’t have eye owning career stats. In his four year career he never crossed the 700 yard mark and that’s playing in at least 10 games a season.
He’s also a bit of a dancer. Albeit he is a big back who has showed the power to move defenses after contact, often times Ballage doesn’t aggressively attack the offense. Some people will cite his patient running style as a strength and it certainly can be. For what its worth, this “dancing” only occurs behind the line of scrimmage. Pray you don’t square up with Ballage in the open field. OUCH!

The Alien Dust: I think he is one of the most underrated running back prospects in the 2018 draft. He might have gone higher if he came out last year, but this year’s class is so deep, it pushed him down a bit.
What really jumps out about Ballage is his versatility. He’s not just a big North and South runner. The guy can run outside and inside and can be quite a weapon in the passing game showing the ability to run a variety of routes. He could be the next David Johnson.
Ballage would be quite an addition to the Dolphins and he might even be available on Day 3.

This versatile weapon reminds me of one of my most fundamental weapons – the Thermos Blaster!

You can watch his highlights here!

Oink
Nice job Piggy/Wedge – Why do you blast Thermoses? Do you have mental scars of being picked on at lunch in elementary school? lol
Had a bad experience with a rectal thermometer
Please – no details
Yes Piggy.
I think I always forget to thank you for your and your crew’s scouting reports.
So……Thanks! Good as always.
Oinks everyone
Great write Pig — you sold me on Ballage, even if we keep Williams. And glad to hear the RB class is so deep….nothing like stocking the stable. And back-up RBs play special teams.
They can do everything really.
It’s great to have 3 good RBs bc they are likely to see the field a lot given their verstatily, ability to play ST, frequency of substitutions and vulnerability to injury
Oink and agreed
Get two RBs from this class
I honestly didn’t not think 2 RBs is a bad idea
Especially bc we have 2 7th rounders and 2 4th rounders
One can be a bigger back like Pettway who will be available on day 3, or maybe a FB like Flowers – or a big back that can play FB or pick up short yardage
I think it depends on how the coaching feels about Damien Williams
He’s been great for us, but maybe his usefulness has run out
I also think Drake may have issues with durability if we use his m like we did for the last few weeks of the season (we had no choice but to use him this way)
So I think it would be great to see his carries per game reduced
NIce write up Pig. A couple of comments / questions;
1. what is a “phrame” is that like being “phat”?
2. WOW 7 TD’s in one game. We have whole stables of running backs that don’t score that in a year (16 games)
3. LOL @ the first picture of him stiff arming the defender he looks so “dignified” kind of like a butler carrying a tray of drinks, extending his are “one moment please sir” He definately doesn’t look like he is strugling or that fending the other guy off is an effort at all.
Phrame is another sign that I am getting old
I wasn’t sure. LOL. I thought about looking it up in the “urban dictionary”
Man, you see her phrame? She is phat! (Phat = Highly attractive / Excelent according to the Urban Dictionary)
One Moment please Sir. I will be right with you.
He’s very polite
Lusaka’ s brother?
We should be so lucky
Beat me to it, I was going to say not as polite as Lou
Douchebag
8 TDS Rock
Here are highlights from that game
but only 7 on the ground. I was referring to the dearth of rushing TD’s from our RB’s.

Son, if we went 12-4 without Landry how would you feel a year from now?
—————————————–
Id feel the same way as i do now, that the two things aren’t related to one another.
So the Dolphins signed Defensive backs coach Tony Oden from Detroit today. I hope it is a good hire. Taking a quick look at the stats (out of context of course) Detroit was 4th in the league in interceptions (19) but middle of the road in the rest of the team stats on defense. I hope he can coach up our young guys!
Happy Birthday Cameron Wake! 36 years old today!
That you see on the video of him “dancing” behind the line isn’t dancing, its jump cuts. His Legs never go east west from one another, so that are jump cuts and his momentum never dies or is shifted laterally. He also seems to have really good acceleration and for a back his size his speed is pretty good. He reminds me of a little bit smaller version of Derrick Henry. Henry was so big that when he was leaving people in the dust he hardly looked like he was moving. His long strides made it deceptive until you watched the Cb falling behind chasing him. Thats similar to what i saw with Ballgag. He doesnt run too upright, he isnt afraid of taking the contact to aother player. If he is a decent receiver, he would be a very good pickup.
Sorry for the reply of the non reply post.
Kalen Ballgag!
Rock, he did a really good job with Darrius Slay. Slay was a guy i thought was pretty good our of Miss State, though i felt Jonathan Banks was better. Slay has turned out to be pretty much a steal in that draft while Banks, coached by TB’s crew was an absolute bust. Part of that is the player, but a good chunk can be attributed to coaching too.

It may just be a cut or 2
“Dancing” is not always a bad thing
Some backs are just a lot more aggressive that others
I think this might be a guy who is occasionally caught behind the LOS
At the same time I think he might get bigger runs as a result
I don’t think he accelerates very quickly when compared to some one like Barkley, Michel or Guice
But those guys are special
Generally most of then layers in profile I like
And I’m just forcing the negative stuff
At one point in his career he was benched (which I didn’t mention) not sure the reason why
But in general he hasn’t had any great single seasons
That might just mean fresh legs
Ballgag did seem like he was being polite asking that guy not to get in his way where he would have to then run him over. Probably not as polite as when Joe Flacco generously paid for everyones meal at the ball he was attending that Sunday……

hmmmmmmm
We are not allowed to state the obvious without being called Tannehomers
elite players? mmmm
Read the article. It doesn’t call him an elite player
you can call me a Tennehomer all you want. I AM a Miami Dolphins Homer. I freely admit it. I like Tannehill and think he is better than he gets credit for. I guess I’m a homer.

Yes, can I help you?
So I did a google search of “Phrame” and it appears that a phrame is a “smart” licence plate frame with electronics that enables in-trunk delivery, on-demand services, car-sharing & secure radio-frequency-proof car key storage. I still don’t know what that has to do with Kalen Ballage.
We I already edited it but I do like the idea of coloring Ballage to a smart license plate
I thought that article was more than fair
I don’t think there is a question that Tannehill’s absence hurt us
Particularly in light of what it says at the end about the poor quality of replacements
Big falloff after Tannehill whether mentioning Cutler, Moore and Fales
Imo that’s why it’s important to bring in preferably draft) a QB this offseason
We have a decent QB in Tannehill
His backups suck
Maybe a young QB challenges Tannehill and wins the job
Maybe Tannehill gets better
Maybe it’s just a career backup
Either way all the results are good for our future
Ken, you are allowed, its just Tim that isn’t because his Tanne-homerism is visible from space, although now its somewhat shaded by his Jarvi-hateraid
LOL
I still find it hard to believe that 36 is considered old and time to retire. I WISH I was 36 again…(and knew what i know now)
36 would be a dream for me
36 would be Jerry Koosman
we were 6-10. so what are we talking? 8-8. at best, 9-7. and that’s only because Cutler didn’t have a camp. If Cutler had a camp we’d probably do the same thing. not saying Cutler is great. Just keeping things in perspective.
9-7 would probably have gotten us in the playoffs and no I don’t think Cutler with a full camp would have been any different. Cutler was what he always has been – inconsistent
sure he would have. how can you even say that? ANY quarterback misses a total offseason program is going to take time to get acclimated to playing and even though Cutler may have know the offense he didn’t know the personnel.
So Cutler had 19tds, 14 ints in ’18 and Tannehill had 19tds, 12 ints in ’17 but Tannehill would have made THAT much of a difference. So you’re saying Tannehill would have made up for the lack of scoring on offense we didn’t get from the running game? Highly doubt that.
It would be impossible to put a number on more wins
But i don’t believe we would have suffered through some of those miserable offensive games (saints, ravens and the first half of most of the season) with tannehill at an
The article says we went to average to one of the worst without tannehill and I think that sums it up
That probably would have lead to more wins
But trying to pinpoint 7, 8, 9 or 10 wins is kind of meaningless – it’s just speculative and wins and losses sometimes have a lot more to do with the flow of the game
If tannehill passed for 400 yards and took 6 sacks and threw 3 interceptions it’s orobably going to be a loss – but we will be talking about mistakes and not how pathetic the offense looked
I don’t consider him a difference maker so if we had the same running game and we weren’t scoring via the ground like we weren’t compared to last season then I just don’t see how having Tannehill in there would have made a difference.
It’s not like we were going to get an extra 7 or so td’s thru the air with him at qb compared to having Cutler in there. That, to me, is being realistic. I don’t know how you can realistically think that he’d make up the difference and I doubt his presence would have helped the run game.
Good write up, Piggy. I’m not a big fan of tall RBs but I read that he’s someone the Dolphins met with. Not sure if that means much as teams try to meet with a lot of players.
It means nothing if we look at the last few years
They meet with everyone
Who knows what’s on the board when you pick
I would meet with everyone if I was a GM
You’d think Landry was Jarvey Weinstein the way Tim hates him. lol
My Super Bowl Prediction: A complete dismantling of the Pats by the Eagles with the MVP being one Nick Foles who throws for 4 td’s. Final Score: Eagles: 38 Pats 9
Of all the backs I’ve looked at so far for this team there are two I like best. Ronald Jones of USC and Chase Edmonds of Fordham.
Jones is fast
Hey I did point out that Landry had the same amount of FF points as Davante Adams which is the contract he’s seeking. 🙂
Was it a PPR league? 1/2 PPR?
Nope, just yards and TDs. We use an older scoring system. We don’t have a flex or defensive players either.
Why do you hate Landry so much?
Is this an intervention or an exorcism?
So the new coaching staff seems to be complete.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article197394919.html
Now they just need a player like Landry to build around
😛
Now we’re ready to play Ballage!
I agree it would be difficult to say how many more wins with RT, but as Piggy said I don’t think the offense would have been so awful. Remember RT was in his 2nd year in the offense and had all the OTAs and most of TC. Cutler was getting his reps mid preseason and during the early part of the season. I also think that’s what we saw with his dead arm. It happens in TC but for him it hit during the early part of the season. Anyway, this shit season is over for them and let’s hope we get back on track and back to the playoffs.
but in what way would things have changed? the play calling was still terrible. the run game wasn’t giving us any support in the early part of the season. we weren’t scoring on the ground. I don’t understand how his presence would have changed ANY of that.
I don’t get crazy about play calling. I just think the time it took for Cutler to get up to speed hurt the overall offense. But it’s not worth spending too much time on it because it’s not something I want to keep thinking about. LOL
Tannehill doesn’t get credit or blame for doing a damn thing last year because he wasn’t playing. People are forgetting that we played a much harder schedule this year than last too. Ignore it all you like, but it matters. We also had changes all along the OL throughout the season. A LT that was not good. We had receivers disappear. We had next to nothing in terms of production from the TE position. We traded away our pro bowl RB, and our running game wasn’t nearly as productive as last year. The difference in our scoring was actually a much bigger product of our diminished running game than the QB position. And a coach who seems to be required by law to throw a WR screen every fourth play. Of course Tanny being out had an impact…but so did all that other stuff and more. This offense was a disappointment on every level, and it ALL impacted wins and losses. If it were really just all Tannehill, i’d actually be less concerned. It wasn’t.
****
Going forward, Tannehill will rarely be the reason we succeed or fail. He never has been. He’s a piece player….not a difference maker. We need a lot better performance by this offense overall if we’re gonna go anywhere. Just Tannehill coming back isn’t gonna do it.
I think he makes us better. He was playing really well when he got hurt. I’ll just leave it at that. 🙂
I think he makes is better but overall I agree
There are other pieces too
And the reality is we can do better at QB as well
I just think he would have been better than what we had in 2017
Tim hates Landry, but LOVES Tannehill. 😀
I like both of them. 🙂
I know, I think your mind has gone into self preservation mode, you’re slowly cutting the cord on Jarvis mentally, because you know it’s less likely that he signs with us. I know what’s going on. lol
When we resign Landry, I bet Tim buys his jersey, his T-shirt, Landry mugs, Landry letterhead…all the works
LOL Piggy – I think you’re right!
Nope, I’m waiting for a good player to wear 42 so I can replace the name Clay and save my nice jersey. LOL
Before RT went down he was 12th in QB rating, 6th in comp. pct. and 8th in YPA. His game was on the rise but some people just don’t accept it. If he can get back to that we will be fine. 🙂
It doesn’t matter how many times we say it, people don’t take stock in that for whatever reason

🤪
Where’s the article about us being 2-7 without Ajayi?!!
This is getting old with Ajayi. The offense stunk with him and everyone else.
Because it was a one year snapshot of what Tanny did against extremely weak competition. You can’t claim that’s what he is or isn’t just because of one year’s performance.
I only claim that he could be that QB, not that he is that QB
I say the same thing, his game was trending up. Randy doesn’t want to be wrong about him that’s all. LOL
Extremely weak competition? It’s the NFL dude. LOL
But our running game significantly improved after we traded Ajayi
Wrong spot. Supposed to be in response to M13
I have maintained he’s an average QB. Even assuming he can be 12th the rest of his career, that makes him an average QB. I am right about him already. I’m hoping I end up being wrong.
***
Nice try though.
Most QBs in the league are average or worse. There are only a few elites. That goes for just about every position. I was also just BB/JK. 🙂
Strength of schedule is such a strange statistic. If I understand it correctly (someone correct me if I’m wrong) SOS is based upon the win / loss record of this years opponents based upon the previous seasons record? There is so much movement up and down every year it is almost irrelevant. Every NFL team has professionals on it who want to win. Fluke bonces and referee interference is ways to much into it too. Jacksonville helped everyone’s SOS this year but lowered it the year before.
weighs SMH freaking Siri. Come on.
Randy, what’s your opinion of Eli Manning?
Tim,
So what? Would you rather play NE or Cleveland every week? They’re both NFL teams, but they aren’t equal. This idea that the competition doesn’t matter is just crazy talk. We played the easiest schedule in the whole league that year. It mattered.
Actually…….
http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/201479/2016-nfl-strength-of-schedule
Your statement can’t even be taken as hyperbole
We play NE twice every year so there’s that. I don’t buy into the schedule stuff anyway. Never have. Just like when it comes out and people say oh look at how tough it is this year. Most teams change from year to year. Most games are competitive. They are all pros.
yup, I pretty much said the same up the page.
Rock,
I’ve never been a big fan of Eli.
Well, then I’ve got nothing…..LOL I agree. I have had the great QB / average QB argument with friends and family about him. I think he is average who was lucky enough to play on really good teams and get lucky again to beat the patriots twice in the SB.
Tim,
I’m watching hockey, so my ire is up! Lol
***
I look at it this way. There are 32 teams. 1-10 are the better than average guys. 11-20 are the average guys. 21-32 are the worse than average guys. I know that’s simplistic but that’s why I say he’s average. He’s been rated in that 11-20 range almost his whole career. I say average….it seems like people hear something else. It’s like I claimed he was Henne-like or something. Lol
Although Randy does have a point about some teams. If you saw the Browns or Jacksonville on your schedule the past few years you put that in the win column.
Rock,
That was in April. By the end of 2016 season, we had played the easiest schedule. I am pretty sure I read that somewhere. If i’m wrong, it won’t be the first time.
Randy, our SOS was 11th in 2016 and 6th in 2017. (hardest)
I dont think you can call Tanny trending up or down because he trends up and then tdown and back up and own again all the time so there is no trend there are just a bunch of small streaks of improvement between instances of regression, i mean that’s why he is a approximately .500 QB. I do think he pieced together his longest streak (like 5-6 game) towards his last games in 2016, but is that a trend or an extended streak? Im not saying i expect him to suck when he gets back i just cant see how one can be optimistic about him being successful either, there is no real trend.

————
Gase is 14-8 (.636) career with Ajayi starting at RB
Gase is 8-5 (.615) career with Tannehill starting at QB
If it’s getting old with Ajayi, it’s getting old with Tannehill; it’s a two-way street and both players are/were valuable to us.
You watched the games where nothing was working on offense and we were getting shut out and scoring very low in points. If you think Ajayi was the key reason we had the wins we had so be it. I do not. The defense had more to do with it then him.
Also I didn’t say anything about Tannehill and wins and losses. In fact I said not sure how many more wins we would have had with him, I just think the offense would have been better.

————
I beg to differ, man. Drake had a couple of breakout games, but that’s it. We finished ’17 at 3.9 YPC, down from 4.5 YPC in ’16.
Not comparing to 2016. However in 2017 our running significantly improved over the period of time after we traded Ajayi. Yes in 2016 the running game was better but I am just looking at last season
Yes… I agree over the course of ’17 we got better at running the ball.
Gee. Then I hope we keep our o-line intact.
Tim,
Then why bother setting up schedules where the worse teams play easier schedules? Why ever do any sort of bracket in sports and instead just throw everyone into a hat? I agree that a team can only play who’s on your schedule….so, in that sense, the schedule “doesn’t matter”. That is true, but it doesn’t mean every team you play is equal in talent or equally good. That’s a different thing. It’s harder to beat good teams than bad ones. I’m not so sure why that seems illogical to some. I’d rather arm wrestle Barney Fief than Arnold Schwarzenegger! Lol
Hey, listen. I’m the one who said I’d be fine going into the season with Tannehill as the starter this year and didn’t want to waste a first rd pick on a quarterback. Outside of Rosen or Darnold I really don’t care to draft any of those guys who are being talked about in the first rd.
My only point was that I just don’t see him making a huge difference if he was playing vs Cutler. I don’t think Cutler is better but I don’t think either is the answer.
That being said, I’d rather use our draft picks to build a team rather than pick one guy who everyone thinks is going to magically solve everything because it’s not going to happen. We’re not there yet and we’re not going to be for at least a couple more years. Pull back on the reigns and just build a frickin team.
Tanny IS on the team. Ajayi is not.
I beg to differ. Ajayi IS on the team. The Super Bowl team.
Rock,
Yep, and I think a harder schedule this year impacted our record too. It goes both ways. I’d just like to see us be able to consistently beat the good teams in the league.
Cleveland could be a much better team next year. They have some good players, a ton of draft picks and money. Not saying the turn around JAX had, but maybe a 6-10 or 7-9 team. That’s a big improvement from 1 and 0. LOL
I give them two years and they’re competing for the division
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 11: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame (A)
Round 2 Pick 10: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State (B)
Round 3 Pick 9: Tyquan Lewis, DE, Ohio State (B)
Round 4 Pick 11: Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Isaiah Wynn, OG, Georgia (A)
Round 6 Pick 9: Kurt Benkert, QB, Virginia (A)
Round 7 Pick 5: Skai Moore, OLB, South Carolina (B)
Round 7 Pick 11: Godwin Igwebuike, FS, Northwestern (A+)
Not too shabby!
Thanks, I’m bored at work, it’s dead here.
So long as we get our O-Line fixed, I think we’re going places. Drake will be a BEAST and Tannehill will have more time to throw. I really think it’s THAT simple… and re-sign Jarvis if our cap space will allow it.
Hopefully they feel it needs to be fixed. Hopefully they don’t look at the running game getting better as the season progressed as a reason to keep the o-line intact and not make any changes.
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 13 (WASH): Roquan Smith, ILB/OLB, Georgia (A-)
Round 2 Pick 10: Billy Price, C/OG, Ohio State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 12 (WASH): Mark Andrews, TE, Oklahoma (A-)
Round 3 Pick 9: Braden Smith, OT/OG, Auburn (A)
Round 4 Pick 11: Chase Litton, QB, Marshall (A+)
Round 4 Pick 30: Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State (A+)
Round 6 Pick 9: Dimitri Flowers, FB, Oklahoma (A+)
Round 7 Pick 5: Van Smith, SS, Clemson (A+)
Round 7 Pick 11: Joe Ostman, DE/OLB, Central Michigan (A)
If I were a betting man, I’d say the Bills will select Billy Price in the 1st round to replace Eric Wood, who just retired.
Could be?
That will drop someone else too us in the second!
Don’t worry M13
We are drafting a RB
And I’m currently practicing voodoo so some how Derrius Guice falls to the 2nd round and we draft him
So we can take Nelson in the first and Guice in the 2nd
Then we can all forget about Ajayi
If you’re going to take a RB in the 2nd round… RASHAAD PENNY!!! 😀
Guice is my guy
I think he’s the best player in the draft
Nothing against Penny (who I think would be a great addition) but Guice is my kind of RB – he’s fiesty!
There is no shame in playing well against a lesser SOS. That is what good teams are supposed to do. Beat the weaker teams.
I really don’t think the schedule was that different between the 2 seasons
The nfc south was tough – but we beat the falcons
We can’t control the schedule. I have given up whining about the schedule and strength of schedule. All the team can do is try to beat the teams on the schedule
The only thing I that bothers me is cold weather games in the road
But the teams we are playing haven’t traditionally made a huge difference
When teams are really bad they still compete against us
If we draft a RB in rounds 1 or 2 i’m gonna kick tannenbaum right in the vagina.
Round 2 is a great round for RBs
It always has been
You don’t get a LeVeon Bell on Day 3
As much as I LOVE Rashaad Penny, he’s too rich for my blood in the 2nd round. I agree with ya, Randy. I wouldn’t touch a RB until the 4th round, TOPS.

You’ll get ZERO complaints from me if we land Guice: he’s NICETY (<– Bootsy Collins' term)!
Unfortunately I’m hearing talk that he goes top 10
But Guice falling to us in the 2nd round is the stuff of pork dreams
https://youtu.be/m2LOimNkKqo
Piggy,
That’s probably true, but I think we have bigger needs.
We have a lot of needs
I have OL, LB, TE, RB and QB as my tops
I wouldn’t mind another pass rusher
But we have 5 picks before round 4 is through
If we
Go OL early, I think it’s okay to make a “luxury pick” Round 2
I call it a luxury pick bc it’s round 2
If it doesn’t happen I still think we can nab a good one in rounds 3 or 4
But I suspect the 2nd round prospects this year will be among the top nfl RBs in the next few years. It happens to be a good crop of RB
So round 2 knocks you out of contention for a player like Barkley but a lot of teams won’t spend a 1st rounder on a RB – so you have 2nd round RBs who may be among the drafts best players
It’s almost like getting an extra 1st
And now for my obligatory, annual statement: I wish the Draft came before FA!!!
I think we can wait on a RB a little later than the 2nd rd. That’s just me.
I know we can
But those higher rounds really might nab us a special player
I tend to think it’s a good draft for RBs and some of the best players in the draft are RBs, so very good Football players will be available in the 2nd – and they will be RBs…lol
I think we have a special player in Drake. I don’t feel the need to get a RB early. I agree we need depth at the position but we have bigger needs that I think we need to focus on in the early rounds
I don’t think Drake is special
I think he’s a good RB
Prof Lou,
Have you soured a bit on Logan Woodside as I have?
Kurt Benkert didn’t hurt himself any in my eyes!
I kind of have Benkert, White and Falk tops in my Dolphins wishlist
I heard Guice is an ecstasy freak. He beats his girlfriend. He has hidden knee problems. He’s got a video out there of the “one time” he was bi-curious. He took money from a college booster. he, he
he smokes weed from a gas mask
Piggy:
I think with a full year as the featured back he will be something special. He has crazy speed and is an excellent receiver. Over the last 5 games he looked like a stud
He seems like the kind of back that can break a big play at any time

I would not wait on OL or TE in this draft. I have a feeling there will be a run fairly early on both.
Redskins have traded for Alex Smith. I was sure he was gonna be a Brown , no qhere fir Cousins 🤔
Now where for ^
Jets
Good god i hope not .. both for his and our sakes.. i know Son has a preferred destination 🎉
I hear Denver is all in for Cousins
That makes more sense in my eyes
Would also be a good fit
He is your #2 after Cam right ?
We could have him and Keuchley
Can Kuechley play OL ?? 🤡
Probably better than some of the guys we have
Lol unfortunately true.
Did anyone else know Trump was doing a State of the Union speech tonight? Lol
Yes I’m trying to ogle Nikki Haley
HEy OD ya wearing yer Winnipeg Jets hat tonight ? Good game so far

She’s the Secratary to the UN
Randy how are the Wild doing tonight ?
Sorry OD 👍😎
Sooo, just curious…are axe throwing cages at bars a thing where any of you live? There’s a place here that has them. I’m just thinking, alcohol and axe throwing….what can possibly go wrong?
They are in NYC
My friend keeps trying to get me to go
I’m not going near axes with a a few beers in me
https://www.kickaxe.com
Toba,
They won in a shootout! It was a good game. They’ve struggled this year. Hoping to just find a way into the playoffs eventually.
Kewl. They play us tough all the time.. we beat Tampa 3-1. Also a good game.. jets are like the Vikings were for ne allvyear. I keep waiting for realuty to kick in but they just keep goibg.. I finally bought the Viking hype before they played Philly , bastards
herd,
Do they couple the axe throwing with the “Bring your ex to the bar” night, at least? Lol
It’s not prohibited that I know of…hmmmm
I think Cousins could end up in Cleveland only because Dorsey said he doesn’t like starting rookie qb’s.
scratch that. not only for that reason but when you consider the Browns have all that cap they can sign a qb in FA and free up their top picks to do whatever they wish with them. then, if they feel like it, they can trade down a couple spots.
Just think if the Browns do go after Cousins. That throws that entire top ten out of whack and may not make some guys available to us at #11.
I just keep thinking that if qb’s begin to fall because the Browns sign Cousins and there’s a couple there at #11 maybe that trade with BUF could actually happen. It would probably be unprecedented for two teams in the same division to make a trade like that but God would I love to have those two picks.
Cousins will follow the money…..pretty simple. Who is gonna pony up the most….. another over priced FA…..
well, teams who have a huge amount of cap space like the Browns can afford to go out and spend a lot of money on a guy like him and if they can win with him then, to them, he’s worth it.
they sign him and it frees them up to do things in the draft rather than go after a qb. so, that is probably another reason it’s worth it to them. so, overpriced or not, it puts the Browns in a much better situation then they would have been in previously.
I envy the Browns situation right now. I’d love it if Miami had all that cap and the draft picks they got. We could build a dynasty with what they’ve got there.
I don’t envy winning 1 game in 2 years. There is no guarantee the moves they make will pan out. They should get on track but you never know.
I just meant I’d love it if WE had their cap and their picks. But, with our front office being a bunch of fuck ups you never know.
Oh I hear that. Jackpot!

The #Redskins gave QB Alex Smith a 4-year extension worth $94M, source said. He gets a whopping $71M in guarantees.

Well, will you look at that? Now that’s nuts.
Yeah it is. Gruden and Cousins must really hate each other…..
LOL!!

The #Browns tried to trade for #Chiefs QB Alex Smith, sources tell http://cleveland.com , but he’s going to the #Redskins instead per @TerezPaylor
RT17’s salary isn’t looking so bad now….. can’t wait to see what Cousins gets…..absurd.
With the way QB salaries are inflated, I think RT’s salary is just fine. …Suh on the other hand.
Let’s just hope the brass doesn’t do something stupid during the draft. Just need to keep their heads on straight and get players who can help the team and not go for the big splash and screw up the future of the team.
Ireland is gone…..lol
but Tannenbaum remains
Tannebaum hasn’t screwed up the draft yet……
He traded all our picks for Caroo
yep. 7 of them.
Caroo is the worst. How is he not beating out the terrible receivers in front of him? We gave up an entire draft for this guy. He’s not Hershel Walker. Sheesh.
yeah, an entire draft.
I still say we didn’t miss on him and it’s as much on the coaching staff as anyone.
My problem isn’t with Caroo, it’s with the position. With the way the league is now, unless you have the next Jerry Rice, I don’t like trading away picks or using 1st round picks on WRs. …same goes with RBs.
he was a 3rd
I also said trading away picks, not just 1st round picks.
I believe they swapped picks. Not the same as trading away picks.
well, we got a 3rd and traded away a future 3rd which isn’t worth as much and a 4th and we took a guy that we had on our board as a 2nd rd prospect. it’s unfortunate he hasn’t seen the field much but I can’t fault them for the logic. that’s BPA. they had him as the highest rated guy on the board at the time.
we also gave up a 6th in the same year but who cares about 6th rd picks.
So the Browns apparently backed down when they heard the $ that was being thrown at Smith by Washington. Good move on their part.
…from Sun-Sentinel
“Miami traded the team’s sixth round pick (186) this year, and the franchise’s third- and fourth-round pick in 2017 to the Minnesota Vikings to get back into the third round to select Carroo, who caught 122 passes for 2,373 yards and 29 touchdowns during his four seasons with the Knights.”
I believe that counts as trading picks…
As far as deserving a 2nd round grade or being BPA, we’ll see.
you can look at it anyway you want. when you trade a future 3rd to get back into the current year’s 3rd rd you’re going to need to sweeten the pot a bit more. thus the future 4th and current 6th. but, again, a 6th rd pick isn’t worth shit so that’s non consequential.
if Carroo had two good seasons we would have been singing their praises for making the move. unfortunately it hasn’t happened yet and that’s why it’s a problem.
If you read my first post on this subject again, my problem is trading away picks for any WRs. …unless you’re looking at the next Jerry Rice. With the way the league favors the passing game, I put WR near the bottom when ranking positions. I believe you win in this league with QBs, OL, DL, and DBs.
ya think??? Does it even matter who says it? Swapping, trading, same shit. We surrender 3 draft picks in return for an entitled bench warmer who hasn’t done shit in 2 seasons
entitled?
Alex Smith only plays for red hued teams. 49ers, Chiefs and now Redskins. He would look funny in a Lions uni
That’s a deep football analysis for a Wednesday morning
Even worse in Chargers powder blue. Or Titans Navy and powder blue.
Hey how about this stat the Eagles were undefeated without Ajayi and had two losses with Ajayi… so does the W/L rocod with or without a player really mean something, if it does like you guys are saying, then the Eagles became a worse team because they traded for Ajayi.
LOL – Oops! There goes that theory!
