The Dolphins looked like they answered the call against the Bengals. The defense played a very good game, really limiting the Bengals offense. The Dolphins shut out the Bengals in the 1st half, leading at the half 14-0. Talk about a tale of 2 halves, Ryan Tannehill completed 12 of 18 attempts for 114 yards and 1 TD, in the familiar short passing offense. All was well for the Dolphins, even through the 3rd quarter, although I thought they were a couple of plays that gave the indication that the wheels were ready to come off the tracks. The first was the ST’s hit by Martell Spaight, which at the time when the flag went up, I nearly lost my mind. It was a completely legal, legit hit, and I thought they flagged it for a late hit out of bounds, but it turned out, after the hit, Spaight was jawing at the Bengals returner Alex Erickson, and was flagged for a 15 YD unsportsmanlike conduct. That was #1. That moved the starting field position from the Bengals 14 yard line to the 29, big difference, especially after the Bengals struggled for 3 QTR’s.
Number 2 was just a few plays later, the Bengals were at midfield, and Dalton threw a short pass to TE CJ Uzomah, and Uzomah had to go up for the ball, and Dolphins safety T.J. McDonald came from behind and hit Uzomah a few milliseconds after the ball went through his hands. It wasn’t a vicious hit, McDonald contacted Uzomah with his hands first to his back, but he was leaping into the player, and then he eventually knocked the player to the turf, but not in a dirty way at all. That was called for the 2nd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for 15 yards, and in my mind, that’s where the unraveling started.
The Bengals went on to score a TD on that drive, 30 yards of Dolphins penalties, which ended with Dalton hitting RB Joe Mixon for an 18 yard TD to start the 4th quarter. Then the real scary stuff happened. Grant returns the kickoff to the 19 yard line, and Gore on 1st down is stuffed after a 2 yard gain. 2nd and 12, Tannehill is sacked by DT Geno Atkins for a loss of 8, the ball now at the 13 yard line. Tunsil was injured at this point, and he was replaced by swingman Sam Young. Tannehill found Drake in a short pass over the middle, and Drake picked up the 1st down gaining 18 yards. At the 31 yard line, Kalen Ballage got his first carry of the game for 2 yards, and then IT happened. With Sam Young struggling to block anyone really, and the Bengals sensing the weakness there, they overloaded the right side, and sure enough there was immediate pressure on Tannehill as soon as he took the shotgun snap, and he attempted to roll right, and there was additional pressure from that side as well, and Tannehill inexplicably while attempting the throw the ball away, threw it low and it hit the helmet of RG Jesse Davis, and caromed into the waiting hands of DE Michael Johnson who returned the INT for a TD, which tied the game at 17-17. No excuse, that was a terrible play by Tannehill, who could have thrown it to the sideline out of bounds.
I’m not going to bother giving the blow by blow any further, I can sum it up with Sam Young couldn’t block anyone, The Bengals had all the momentum, and we don’t have a QB that can rise above everything and bring us back. Ryan Tannehill is not the problem, but I now believe he is not the answer. We’re not an explosive offense, we can’t put 40 points on a team, and the way the NFL has evolved, I think you have to. Too many things have to be aligned just right in order for Tannehill to succeed, and I think we’ve tried and continue to do just that, but in this league, the QB has to have that confidence, that killer instinct that I think Ryan Tannehill doesn’t have. He’s not a terrible QB, he’s just not the type of player that can lift his team, and I’m certain this will be his last season as the Dolphins QB.
This week can be extremely ugly, facing the #1 defense in the NFL, very likely without our starting LT Laremy Tunsil. The Bears are allowing the 2nd fewest points per game, 16.3, which is pretty close to what we score per game at 19.8, good for 28th out of 32 teams in the NFL. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. The Bears incidentally, are scoring 27.8 PPG, but that’s a little skewed due to the 48 points they hung on TB before their BYE week. Rookie QB Mitch Trubisky threw 6 TD’s in that game, but the 3-1 Bears don’t really score like that consistently, and they don’t have to with that defense. The Bears probably send fruit baskets and flowers to Jon Gruden weekly for trading Khalil Mack to their team.
This is a game we have no business winning, and yet for some reason, I have a feeling we hang around in this game, and possibly even win it, just because it makes no sense. No prediction this week, who cares anyway. It’s bizarre to look at the NFL standings, and see the Miami Dolphins there at 3-2, 1st place AFC East. I think about Jakeem Grant and how much more important he becomes each week, and then conversely, I think about Devante Parker and how close people are to saying “Who?” when you say his name. Are 1st RD Dolphins WR’s cursed? Yatil Green anyone? I think about the defense, and realize that this is probably the last year for Cam Wake, and I get the feeling he doesn’t have that storybook ending here. Shame, he deserves it, but I think maybe father time has finally reined the big boy in. I think about the young players we have on defense that are coming on, Jerome Baker, Minkah who started out great, Raekwon who needed to shake off some rust after being out last year, Xavien Howard, who is a top 10 CB, Vincent Taylor who keeps on getting better and Davon Godchaux too. Add in good ole Bobby McCain too. I guess what I’m saying is, draft a QB in the 1st RD next year, there are some really good young pieces to build around. Next year, always next year. I know, I know, we’re 3-2, probably soon to be 3-3, but we will win the Fest game, because . . .

Piggy
It was more than you came off as primary play had to scramble and go to a secondary receiver.
Amendola fell down
Ref fucked again
It doesn’t take a great diet to perform our jobs, we aren’t word class athletes.
But most successful athletes have specialized diets and workouts, they know the importance of it even if some others may not be aware
All I hear in your last few posts
Nice payback
That wasn’t PI on Minka
We have 19 first downs, 350 yards, and 21 points of offense. It’s the best offensive game we’ve played all year…with a backup QB. Tannehill needs to sit.
ABT
Anyone but Tannehill
Big stop here
Or not
Why can’t we run for a short first down like that?
Parkey needs to miss to pay us back for abandoning us.
Damn !!
I thought he had that
☹️
Lots of hands on hips. DL looks tired.
I never played NFL football, but Cameron Wake has, and at 35 years old.
let’s see what he says about diets importance, its a lifestyle for him along with his workout routine.
Miami Dolphins DE Cameron Wake explains what it takes to be elite
Jason Lieser
the one question he’s tired of is when people want to know whether he ever takes a cheat day. Not only is that an indulgence he doesn’t take part in, he’s past the point of even wanting it.
“It’s a lifestyle,” he said this week. “I’ve decided many years ago that this is going to be my life if I want to be successful. To me, every week off that I’m taking is a week that some other guy is not, or a week that I’m stepping back or a sack that I’m going to miss or a play that I’m not going to get. It all comes down to what it’s worth.
“If I told a rookie, ‘Listen, if you never drink a drink of alcohol throughout your entire career, you’ll have 15 more sacks for the years you’re playing. Is that worth it to you?’ Some guys say yes; some guys say no. ‘Never have fried food for your 10 years and you’ll make X more money.’ Some guys say yes, some guys say no.
“To me, even if it’s one sack, one play, it’s worth it. Because 10 years from now when I’m not playing, I can have all the cheeseburgers, all the beaches, all the everything, because I put the time in now to put myself in a position that I can have all those things. But if you try to do it the other way around, you won’t be in that position to even enjoy the stuff that you’re working towards… It’s 24/7. It’s just a lifestyle. It’s my life and it won’t change until I stop playing.”
It’s now my turn to laugh at You guys ignorance thinking diets aren’t important, LMAO
Suggestion, Next time research the subject before commenting blindly , and You won’t look like one of our coaches, lol JK
WTF WAS THAT
The score or David’s post?
🤔
Bro wtf
He was wide open
I wonder what Landry’s diet is like? Why do I feel I’m about to find out?
🤔
You already should know what diet he has😎
I though that was a replay
son,
Yes, Amendola got knocked off his route and Brock was able to maintain his composure, keep his eyes in the rest if the field and find somebody else. That doesn’t usually happen on plays like that. Stills also did a real nice job of continuing to try to get open. Nice play.
We have at least one huge defensive breakdown every game. We’ve had two today. I’m not sure where this problem stems but it’s a huge problem. Wide open!
I can’t imagine a dumber defense on 3rd and 9
Inexcusable
FUCK YEAH !!!!
Wow
Now can we play defense?
Are you kidding me!!!!! Fuck Yeah!!!!!
Holy Pork
Wow!
Holy shit
I turned away to google athletes and their diets and we are tied again
I don’t think Landry could do that!
🤡
He never got touchdowns? Lmao. Ok
He did get 220 first downs in 4 years, set NFL records, and had 9 TDs last year..
This doesn’t mean other recovers suck, but he sure as hell never sucked, always excelled, every week without fail for rook contract minimum wage
Where was Wilson the other losses? He gets paid every week right? 😎
Wilson plays great sometimes, and is a non factor in others, wtf
Gase needs to continue finding roles for our speedsters. With the right QB and playcalls, we could be similar to KC. 425 yards of offense today. Yes!!
Need the ball D
Go get it
X
That was nice
Defense (stomps trotters) Defense!!!
Change QB’s and look how much better the oline got. Amazing.
son,
Ding, ding, ding
Woooooooo
Holy phucking shit
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Howard must eat a beet salad
😊
So cam wakes a liar too? Lol. I bet you wouldn’t call him a liar to his face
When did I call him a liar?
You didn’t, other have by joking diets aren’t important.
his comments in diets importance should be respect even if mine aren’t. Which is dumb cause I’m saying the same thing he is.
Wake has played his ass off for this team, and knows what it takes to be successful
Going to celebrate by eating Lard
Pig
Nice job refs
Fucking idiots
Let’s run a bunch of screens after a turnover
No one will know what’s coming
What do ya do here ??
Osweiler just put up the highest passing yardage in a game for a Miami QB this year. He is tied for the most TDs in one game and all of them were forward throws and not shovel passes. We are going head to head with a good team and I’m not already dreading the outcome. What a game.
Jesus, is there a reason you can’t call a running play?
David — good food is a definite plus.
But
I like good food and that and my talent got me a
so-so high school career and no more.
Nice punt !!!
Overtime is our friend!
Way to go refs. So I guess tripping a receiver is just fine and dandy. Fuck you!!!
For all my squealing about Gase
I will say this – the way this team is built for speed
Is a lot of fun and works a lot too
Just drives me crazy that everything has to be a big play
I want to see some stead drives
Wtf refs suck, they must have wanted OT game for ratings
Come on we get the ball. Do it, do it, do it… do it!!!
What a game though. The trip on Drake is still pissing me off though.
That and the hit to Gore’s head pisses me off as well.
That was BS
Lol Naples, I hear that.
it also requires other things too like size, skills, etc
But it was fun playing high school football huh
This game is happening and some of you are talking about nutrition. WTF?!!!! LOL
I hate the OT rules. Unless we come out and score a TD!
Let’s go dolphins!!!
I HAAAAAAATTTTTEEE that play call.
BS call
Play call and penalty
That was a bad call by the ref.
Oz missed a first down there.
By design
Well that was a nice break 😎
wow we finally got lucky.
OMG, we don’t usually get those kind of third down conversions, maybe we can steal a win out of this one
We will Gore you!
Gore , Gore Gore
See, it’s okay to run the ball.
Wow, OL blew em a new a hole on the Gore run play, wtf this game should be ours now!
At least these announcers are not saying they are in South Beach.
Just give Gore the Ball
Gore has 95 yards, if he gets the next 7 will top a hundred, and win the game too
Yes
Now just run it up the middle with Gore
Gore fot mr thw win
One more yard! The longest yard!
Piggy wants one more Gore carry
Who is with me?
Oink for the win!
That was just a dumb call
Dumb play
Are you kidding me? WTF???
Well that sucks
I mean why don’t you just snap the ball and push for a yard
Fucking morons
do we win on a safety?
And they prolly get it at the 20 as he was laying on goal line
Nothing wrong with that play call. Davis blew his block and Drake should have secured the ball.
If it’s just a sneak or a regular handoff – how hard is it to gain 1 hard
It’s a dumb play call
You just increase the risk of something doing wrong when you try to be too smart
Fuck. They should have just QB snuck it in
We have picked up 2 3-1s with QB sneaks and we had 3and inches
Fuckin Osweiler is 6-8 with long ass arms just extend it over the plane
oh man we don’t ever get it on the one?
Shoulda ran gore again, wtf bad play call .
We only needed one friggin yard for the win!
It wasn’t a bad play call it should have been a TD he just fumbled
They shouldn’t have even handed off though that’s just a chance to fumble as is. QB sneak makes the most sense on that play.
Yes and know QBs are not natural ball carriers they can make the same mistake
The playcall resulted in the wrong guy carrying the ball, we should have fed the hot hand, Gore. Gore earned one more carry imo, and he would have likely scored
Gore was gassed
Gase brain is swimming in toxic waste to not calla gore run from the one,
he should be fired if we lose this game beacause he drank too much flouride
Gore was gassed too himself out
Piggy,
You’re assuming the QB sneak would have worked. It wasn’t the playcall that sucked. It was the execution. If Davis makes his block and Drake has 2 hands on the ball like he should inside the 5, that’s probably a TD.
QB sneak was definitely the smartest playcall there.
If it doesn’t work it’s 4th down
You don’t increase risk Randy
That’s fundamental shot
Gase is a moron
If you fail
So what
You kick a FG
You don’t risk giving up the ball by calling a tricky play
You definitely don’t transition the ball from one player to another
This coach is a dumb shit
Eveyrhing has to be cute with him
Just run a 1 yard play
So what if you get stuffed
At least you have the ball
If it didn’t work you call another play on the inch line
Agree with Randy
put Grant deep for a runback of the missed FG.
here’s hoping Taylor or Branch can block the kick,
I’ve never seen such unprofessional garbage from an nfl coach
Every coach who coached for the last 50 years is laughing at him
You play the percentages
No good
D,
Did you see the interior penetration? A QB sneak would have gone nowhere. I’m not saying calling a QB sneak wasn’t a viable call too but the play that was called worked. Drake should have had 2 hands on the ball. No excuse for a fumble there.
Thanks Punky
We would never second guess the coach if gore scored a TD. Veterans know how to make plays in crunch time.
But Yes, I agree Drake should have secured the ball, why do we play so stupid?
Frustrating
Nice job Parkay
Way to go Parkey!
When you call a run play from the shotgun at the 1 yard line
You take risks
Unexessary risks
It’s a really bad play call
Forget about the execution
Wow.
