All I asked for was a plan. Even though I belong to one of the the most prestigious Miami Dolphins Fan Blogs, oddly enough I wasn’t privy to the plan. Despite extensive conversations that I’ve had with Chris Grier, he and I are great pals, he never told me. He’s that good! Seriously though, it’s not the guy I wanted, but I’m thrilled to have Josh Rosen as our QB.
Just think how bizarre the circumstances are how Josh Rosen ended up on our roster. The 10th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft to the Arizona Cardinals did not have a great season last year, but when you look at the team he played for, and take into consideration that the HC Steve Wilks was fired after one miserable season, it’s easy to understand what Rosen was up against. Full disclosure, I didn’t want Rosen last year, and I preferred Dwayne Haskins this year, but I reiterate, I’m thrilled he’s a Miami Dolphin.
Josh Rosen is a highly intelligent QB, and that should fit right in with Chad O’Shea and what he wants to accomplish. If we’re following the Patriots model, be smart with the football, don’t turn it over, and get points on every drive. No pressure for Rosen to start immediately, but I’m thinking Fitzmagic is going to have a fight on his hands to start the season. The compensation we gave up is minimal, the #62 pick (practically a 3rd RD pick after our trade down) this year and our 5th RD pick next year. That trade back also netted us a 2020 2nd RD pick in exchange for our 4th RD pick. Well worth it!
Josh Rosen the QB was rated as one of the top QB’s in last years draft, rated by some as the top QB. He’s NFL ready, he knows how to stay in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield, not on the rush. He can process an NFL offense easily with his football intelligence. In 2017 for UCLA, he completed 63% of his passes against the blitz. He doesn’t necessarily have a better than average arm, but neither did Tom Brady, and he turned out OK.
So now we have a super high character, physically talented, dominant DT, and add to him a highly rated QB prospect with one year of NFL experience under his belt (even if it was a miserable year!) In the 3rd RD we selected Wisconsin OG Michael Dieter. 6’5 307, there’s nothing special physically to mention, but the kid can play. He’s played all 3 interior positions at Wisconsin as well as 14 games at LT where he was a first team All Conference pick.
So far I have to say we’ve accomplished an awful lot so far. I honestly wonder what is going on in Josh Rosen’s mind. I hope he embraces this most unique opportunity with unbridled enthusiasm. It’s almost like we saved him, he should feel born again (Not religiously!). I hope he comes here humbled and thankful for a wonderful new start and opportunity. Hopefully he’s our successful starting QB for the next 10-15 years. GO DOLPHINS!
#staythecourse
PS – ARZ has paid all of Josh Rosen’s bonus money, so we’re getting a great financial deal as well!
PPS – Toba – Thanks so much for the photoshopping my friend, I appreciate it man!

I’m checking out early this evening with some work to do.
Peace to Tim, Krishna, Wyoming, Naples, and D! Have a great evening, gents!
Peace and thank you.
“It’s a hard dynamic… you’re trying to focus and get mad and put everybody on edge in practice and then he comes up and pinches you on the booty,” Venables said. “It’s like, ‘Hey man, this ain’t the time. I’m not happy.’ It’s the dangdest thing. But that’s who he is and so you certainly want to promote that. But he knows when to really get serious and when not to. But he’s got a very playful, fun-loving spirit.”
Wilkins converts a fake punt:
http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=14475409
in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma no less.
He had to spin around to catch a bad pass way downfield, then he smashed through the tacklers for yards after the catch.
It was not an easy catch and run. And, for a big guy it was pretty impressive.
Wilkins takes a direct snap on a DIFFERENT fake punt and geets the first down rushing around the corner.
https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/10/15/13294210/christian-wilkins-clemson-defensive-lineman-touchdown-fake
Later in the same game, he bulldozes a blocker and blocks a FG try that would have given NC State the lead in the game.
He has both caught a TD pass and run for a TD.
LOL….sorry naples….do you have any vids of strip sacks, TFLs, fumble recoveries, batted balls?????
Tell it, Dan.
doin’ charity work … see any other first round QBs doin that shit?
if so, then they are in the classy group with Rosen.
Myles Gaskins scored 62 TDs in college.
That’s a lot.
His sack celebration is Cam Wakes!
Thanks Wyo.
Krish
I ain’t makin this shit up.
I know you’re not…….that’s why i’m laughing. He’s a player, but I just want him to be the best IDL in the league, an impact player, one who can change the game…..not a running back or the fridge. 🙂
Thank you, wyoming85!
Hope he brings a seriousness, a leader’s mentality to the table. The most important position needs that.
That was for Rosen.
Naples — you have a serious Wilkins mancrush going on. Screw what his actual jersey number is — but this one now. 🙂

He said he was partial to 42 if nobody cared?
Will the league let that happen….. or are you saying that one college carry qualifies him?
I have a beautiful #42 white Charles Clay jersey that lasted a year. LOL
One of our fine upstanding Beet writers asked him yesterday in his meet and great with the media.
I don’t know what the official rules are?
Thought limited what numbers you can get by position. And 42 sure ain’t DT.
Wow, tough to watch without a tear in the eye.
Wilkins is one of my favorite Dolphins already, I’m very happy he is here
LOL
and he’s from Massachusetts so he’s used to the cold in NE.
overcoming what would make most men bitter

wyoming85 — what a tragedy for Wilkins and what a great Mom. Learned from that he went to one of my school’s archrivals. Must have been some days for the guys on our team then. Not talking serious football powerhouses. His and my school had like 500-600 kids.
Gaskins rushed for 100+ yards in a game half the time … 26 games out of 52.
That’s pretty good.
He’s definitely a good back!
Go to Youtube He has many clips and video’s on him!
I don’t want to post them all.
He’s such a Pats’ type back.
Another on that will make the 53!
This year anyway
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oveKLe-xMyk
We don’t have a bonafide pass rusher, but I think we start off with a lot of wasps who swarm and can in blitz/stunt packages.
I think the makeup of this defense will be closer to a 3-4 than a 4-3. The multiple is real but that also means 3-2-6 often.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001028761/article/josh-rosen-congratulates-kyler-murray-on-no-1-pick
Need OL and DE. They are going to be adding some in a few weeks when they dont count against comp picks next year.
Just reading some “bird droppings”…..ARZ picked first and Mr. Irrelevant in the draft. Odd I thought, but interesting
ER sure hope we find one or two gems you noted we need in UDFAs.
How about 94…vs 42? The “heart” of 1942.

This is true on several levels.
There is no downside.
OD says rooks have no experience. Rosen does. Bob says Haskins was a 1-yr wonder, Rosen had a real college career.
Hey at a minimum, we needed another camp arm to run the 4 practice squads every team has each spring training and TC.
Hey we needed a backup since our starter is 37 years old and our other two QBs have zero and tiny NFL experience.
Hey we got a former top 10 draft pick. And still only 22 yrs old. Still coachable.
Hey our HC said he likes smart players and needs a game manager who will execute the game plan and pre-snap read the D. That is Rosen’s set of major competencies.
Multiple Multiple Multiple the HC said and Rosen does not have one (or two) go to throws or players like the slot or the deep ball or the TE or the check down..He spreads it around.
Worst case, we got a backup for $2M/yr. How much did Osweiler get last year? 6?
What are the chances Rosen is an upgrade over Oz?
Rosen did not get injured with the worst line in the NFL. He’s durable!! He’s not short and not skinny. He has quick shuffle steps but isn’t a running QB like RG3.
He was said to be the best pure passer in his draft class, and would have been the 32 QB this year by many analysts.
PLUS …
#2 QB in 2019 not 32 LOLOLOL
might as well start now
https://walterfootball.com/draft2020.php
Well we are supposed to pick first?
So our options are as wide open as you can get!!!!!
Volin should look in his own backyard. They’re not to savy either.
^too
Naples, I like the Myles Gaskin pick also. IMO, Gaskin = Henderson as the same type back except Henderson seems faster and less mileage. They both have great vision and have the same patience to set up blocks then make something happen with a quick gear. Both great receiving backs. For smaller backs, they both can put their head down for the tough yards.
Like the signings of:
LB Terrill Hanks
DE Jonathan Ledbetter
T/G Ryan Anderson
LB Tre Watson
I don’t know much about the others but I really like our direction.
O could see Hanks, ledbetter, Calhoun and Anderson making the 53, Watson likely too
Williams too.
Ledbelly could be a starter if he has any quicks at all.
At least till we draft a superstar next year.
Shaq Calhoun is a pretty good OL out if Mississippi State.
He has a really good chance of sticking.
We are going to have a young team all learning and growing with one another, together. That will make for a strong team base
the thing i like about this new philosophy is high ticket FAs get guranteed money, the kind of money that sets them up for life so there’s really no need for them to give it all they got, some may even avoid contact as a priority vs these young guys who are not set foe life and will run thru a brick wall for you.
My only concern about Wilkins is what happens to his personality
when he isn’t winning every game like he did in high school and college.
I mean it is going to take us 3 years from here to the Super Bowl.
Can he stay upbeat through the 6-10 this year,
then 10-6 and one and done in 2020
before we get to being the 13-3 AFC champs?
did we get our LG and RT? i sure hope so
dee-turr and prince
We got 3 starters out of this draft. A starting DT, starting LG and a starting QB. Plus, we got Gaskins as another offensive weapon. So, we did well. And maybe we even found our starting RT in Prince. I wasn’t a huge fan because he took a huge step backwards from his jr to sr year and, like they said on ESPN, he seemed to become somewhat of an underachiever.
So, if you take a look at his jr yr you can see he has the physical tools to be good and hopefully our coaching staff can bring that out of him.
In the end, we may have come away with 2 starters on the o line and that would be great. I’m thrilled with the outcome at this point. We’re still not there yet and I can imagine they’re going to add some talent when teams start making cuts but we’re definitely going in the right direction.
In year 3, we should be at the top of the division, IMO>
seems like chandler cox will be our new short yardage rb, 6’1″ 236 lbs!
the NE way…a FB
Gaskins seems like a powerful rb, at 5’9″ and 205 lbs, good at catching passes out of the backfield, can he pick up blitzes?
He absolutely can NOT block.
That is why he fell so low, in addition to the huge mileage on his legs.
So they need to make him an early release option in the passing game, or a deceiving draw runner, gadget guy,
not a max protect guy at all.
That’s at a Big Time program too.
It’s funny to see Flores in the presser downplaying the addition of Rosen to the team when, inside, he’s jumping for joy.
Rosen would need to go to Miami and just not give a shit in order to lose the starting job. The first day he steps onto the practice field and they see him out there running the offense they’re going to know he’s the one.
We also dont have to suffer through a rookie QB thrown into the fire.
Fitz is probably saying “Shit, I better lose this gut”. LOL
No what is funny is you projecting your rose-colored emotions on the coach
The FO said the goal for this draft was to get 3 starters, on paper they’ve accomplished that. Add to that a 3-4 OLB passrusher with wheels, a starting FB, if there’s such a thing, a scatback with good college numbers and a project at RT that has great size.
I dont know much about any of these guys outside of Rosen, but the consensus seems to be the draft went about as well and can be expected, plus we added draft picks next year.
My biggest concern with this offseason was we weren’t going to have a bright outlook on the future. We seem to be sitting pretty with a possible franchise QB, 400 draft picks next year and a billion in cap space. Oh and a coach-FO that seems to have vision.
It’s going to be interesting but my bet is at least one, if not two, of these guys at DE are taken to a different level with this coaching staff. The expectations are low but NE always had a way to get more out of their players than anyone else. They had over 13,000 snaps played last year by players they selected 4th rd or later.
I have a bunch of friends that are Jets fans, they are very impressed with what we did in this draft. Very interesting that Darnold , Allen and Rosen are all now in the AFC East
All 3 teams drafted First Round Brady killers at DT also.
sayonara Dynasty
Hopefully . . . It seems we have been saying similar things for a long time, and they just keep chugging along. I get your point though.
You talk about a sleeper pick – we got Rip Van Winkle
Coach ’em up, talk of tanking is greatly exaggerated
Not that you guys have forgotten this,
but a little bit lost in all the various trash about a QB,
ditching cap hits, sitting out FA, the draft drama, etc. etc.
is that Flores is a tough, steely-eyed disciplinarian who don’t take shit off nobody.
Nobody plays soft for him.
a la Bellicheat.
Flores is a winner out of the ultimate victory machine.
His last game tape was a virtual shut out in the frickin SUPER BOWL.
Again he will put the baddest ass grown men he’s got on the field.
For example, he will kick Prince’s ass Day 1.
He will never tolerate that Under-Achiever shit.
I agree. If we still had the same coaching staff(s) we had in the past I wouldn’t give Prince much of a chance but with the guys who are here now, if Prince is going to succeed, it will be here.
So true, what a different feeling we fans have about where we are heading now. I’m excited and glad that we got one of the Clemson DL, the best one. I think he’ll be a huge spark for us and the kind of leader we haven;t had in quite some time.
So we have Fitzpatrick, Rosen, Ruddock and Falk in our QB room right now. Maybe we bring in an UDFA, who knows.
Signing Fitzpatrick is looking even smarter now. If someone’s QB goes down before trade deadline, we could and probably would trade him for another late pick next year.
Oh, that’s where you were going with that. I was thinking we dont need him now, and it really makes no sense at all to have Fitz play.
we had what appears to be an impressive haul of UDFA’s as well. Thanks for all the updates Wyo and M, much appreciated.
BBM
Not that that made the Rosen thing happen,
but I do think the coaches were not pleased to see Fitz
arrive with a seemingly low-care attitude.
I bet Flores will rip him on that.
“We do NOT tank,” Flores said. “We intend to win every game.”
All coaches say that,
but are YOU gonna get in Flores’s face and disagree?
I think not.
He’ll walk you to the door first minute you give up.
they can downplay it as much as they want but they KNEW they were coming out of this with Rosen. we’re dealing with a different breed here in these guys who are running the show now.
There’s no reason to tank to me it looks like we are still the second best AFCE team,
I could see that too, but Rosen would have to play like a top 10 QB first, we’ve taken a huge talent hit.
So which guy on the defensive line will be the next Trey Flowers this season? I think it’s Hendrix
I’d like to see them get Harris going and being productive
Harris needs to have a breakout year or he’s done, to my way of thinking.
The rest of the league needs to stop wimping out at B&B’s feet.
We’ve done our part for years, splitting home and home most times.
It’s the steelers and chargers and such that cave like bunnies, not us.
If the rest of the league had the same percentage WL as we do against the pasties*,
there would be no 666 Super Bowls.
I’m not even considering the “rationale” that “worst case scenario” we’ve got a cheap backup if Rosen doesn’t make it as a starter. He IS the future of this franchise. There is no doubt in my mind. The kid is light years ahead of what we’ve had here over the past 7 yrs so I don’t even understand the comment.
I was being a little bit sarcastic there, Lou.
well, it’s not you. I’ve read that comment numerous times since we’ve traded for him on Twitter. it’s almost like those people want him to fail so we can get “their” qb in 2020 and they can say “see, I told you so”.
Gheesh. We’re even getting props for selecting Van Ginkel.
He’s an interesting pick-up. Looks versatile and with good size and speed.
evaluating the trade for Rosen i came up with this from the point value chart
we gave
2nd ………………….450
4th…………………… 76
5th next year ……..22
…………………=…..548
we got
2nd…………………… 284
6th…………………….. 22
2nd next year ……..330
…………………………634
we gave up our 2nd for Rosen 634 – 284 = 350
548 – 350 = 198….
198 = 3rd round…..79th pick in the draft
the conclusion is we gave a mid 3rd round draft pick for Rosen
Great math, even exact value will depend on where the Saints pick ends up. And I’d say we gave up a low 2nd for Rosen — that it only cost us a mid-3rd is cause the FO did some mighty fine bargaining.
I’m hoping Rosen really embraces this opportunity and comes in here very hungry to succeed, takes the reins of this team, and never looks back.
BBM I disagree!
If a QB goes down and the Fins get a call They could get another 2nd and a 4th for Rosen and say FU to the haters!!!!!!!!!
Dude,
Rosen isn’t going anywhere. He IS the future of this franchise.
You are delusional and in for a major disappointment, Of course you’ve already formed your opinion in stone lolso maybe you won’t be disappointed
You’d rather trade Rosen than Fitz?
Not me.
Steve, we may have taken a talent hit but I don’t see it as so severe, we return most of our starters with an upgrade at QB (no matter who plays), I think any talent loss is mitigated by better coaching and scheme to offset it..
I think the reason Gaskin fell so low was the combination of milaeage and size
I think he is good enough to start for us
But I would be surprised if he has a very long career
If we used Gaskin as part of rotatio (which seems likely) it will be the first time in his career he gets a break…lol
And that seems he can’t pass block (which might be part of the size thing). That also might be part of why we drafted him and a true FB back-to-back.
I think if you think we took a talent hit, it would have to include Suh and Landry. (and Pouncey?)
I don’t think losing Wake and Gore at their ages was a big deal, and I love both those guys.
Losing Jawuan James was a really really big hit that i wish we had not taken.
But it’s just one OL, although a really good one. One player lost is not a talent drain.
Cap casualties happen to every team every year.
Otherwise, who did we lose that was so talented?
Sitton? Maybe. But he played one game for us, so ….
I agree with this except for James. James was a tackle that needs a TE stacked on his side or his weaknesses get exposed . Elway overpaid
I feel We need a RT that doesn’t need a TE babysitter, he should be able too block without some other man helping him out
I was really disappointed we didn’t re-sign James, just created another need on the OL. I understand why we didn’t re-sign him, they didn’t think he was worth that kind of money, and they might be right. Losing Wake lost us a bonafide pass rusher, we also let Branch go, and traded Quinn, so we did lose a bunch of pass rushers, even if besides Wake they weren’t great for us.
James was a panty waste. We’d have a 2nd and 3 and he’d get called for an offsides or holding.
Discipline… Is something this team has been lacking.Another box checked, with Flores
WHEN I SEE that Miami’s penalties are down significantly I’ll agree with you.
UNTIL THEN it’s just talk.
SHOW ME.
Wilkins should have been jumping higher than a Goodell when we got Rosen. Took the passed on Haskins for Willkins thing off his back right quick. Might still be on him to an extent, but the bigger one going forward from this draft will be chose Rosen over Haskins.
I disagree because if Rosen doesn’t work out and we tank we are in good position for Tua, Herbert or Fromm next year
We take one of them and still takes the heat off WIlkins though cause focus would be “why Rosen?”
I really like how we managed the draft. No crazy DT3 or Caroo trade ups. We managed the trade down and trade with the Cardinals to perfection. We addressed needs but we were always around BPA with whom we picked. Perhaps most importantly we built good draft capital next year. The guys we picked have not played a down yet and may not work out but I really like the approach and process of how we went about this draft
I’m just say the Fins aren’t gonna get a call for Fitz?
But they will get a call for Rosen!
And by then we “should” have figured out whether he’s going to be the guy?
Or we are going with a 2020 QB!
Fitz is going to net you what? a 5th?
I was just going down the path we started this off-season.
Stockpile 2020 picks!!!!!!!!!!!!
gotcha
but I think Fitz could only get a 7th in trade.
And if we are parting with Rosen, he will only return us a 4th-5th at best himself.
Then keep him!
will be in the drivers seat of that conversation also!
I only see these UDFAs so far:

This is the funniest tale of the Rosen pick I’ve seen,
“The Cardinals are on the hook for Rosen’s signing bonus, so the Dolphins owe Rosen $6.2 million total over the next three seasons. That’s third-string quarterback money. Even in the worst-case scenario — Rosen has to start throwing lefty after he mangles his right hand trying to fish a fallen Hot Pocket out of the break room garbage disposal, he alienates his teammates by peeing on all the toilet seats in the bathroom on a near-daily basis, and he plays with the pocket presence and awareness of Ryan Tannehill — the financial risk is as minuscule as you can have in a potential starting quarterback.”
Cardinals really mishandled the trading of Rosen
I think they did ok. They got a 2nd even though he was a dead man walking.
They made him a dead man walking
It’s unprecedented that a team takes a QB in the first one year and that casts him out the next year for the shinier QB
It’s a win-win-win deal, baby.
Only loser is Fitz and if he stays with us all year even just as a back-up, then he’s a winner, too.
Ya, it’s no skin out of his wallet!
I think what’s refreshing with this team is that it’s a fresh start and a new direction. We’ll likely be a different type of football team than we’ve had in recent years even if there will be some growing pains. I’m looking forward to watching it grow. 🙂
We lost Amendola, 3 DEs, RT, G, QB, another OL. Son, no discounting allowed 😉
Can we be better than last year, of course, but this is the paper time of the season, and we’re last on paper in the division.
Thank God we lost the QB, You can call that discounting but as soon as he left to Tenn we got better
Here’ to the Gaskin fans!
https://twitter.com/PFF_RyanSmith/status/1122262250855829504
I heard a report that the cardinals barely even explored trading Rosen until hours before the draft
Imagine that – you had 3 suitors you could have pitted against each other for months to maximize the return
Instead, you didn’t explore it until the 11th hour
Two of those teams were off the market within hours
I think the cardinals completely flubbed up the situation
The media isn’t being tough enough on them
The cardinals traded up in 2018 to get Rosen
It’s not a new regime – it’s just a new coach
Keim has been their GM since 2013
WTF!
Imagine how furious dolfans would be if the Dolphins did what the cardinals did
I mean don’t get me wrong
I’m happy we exploited it
But holy venereal fuck Cardinals!
Only possible logical reason for what they did was that they were still exploring trading the first pick and thought actively shopping Rosen would destroy the value of it. Someone will claim that at some point, but they can’t go strong on that now. Murray was always our guy has to be the line now.
Yes – maybe that’s why they wanted to see if somenone would offer them a great deal for the first pick
I do think you can do both, shop Rosen and announce that the first pick is for sale
In theory, they could have executed both if they don’t mind waiting for a QB
They were too busy trying to hide the fact that they were taking Murray.
Yeah but why?
If you are the first pick, what’s the point of hiding who you are taking?
Remember when we drafted Jake Long
Totally agree with my wise porcine friend
Exactly! The local media is killing us anyway! 😛
The local media guys have become so annoyingly negative in arrogant ways that I get so turned off by it. I still go them for info. but I find myself closing articles before I finish reading as soon as I see the bullshit.
I did hear there is a stipulation that you can’t actively call the number 1 pick yours unless you have him signed but that’s only a technicality it was obvious to everyone they wanted Murray and blew it on moving Rosen.
They could have traded Rosen and traded back in the first round – one doesn’t preclude the other
If you want teams to offer value for the first overall pick, they only have to believe you are willing to listen
When it comes to negotiation, you don’t have to pile on uncertainty
Once it exists, it’s in the air, and the other side knows it’s a threat to their interests
The local media is South Florida is really bad
Does anyone remember the last time Omar or Mando actually broke a story?
I usually hear it first from some on in the national media
I’m pretty sure everything I read about the Flores hire was not from local media
They’ve been this bad for a while
But it’s really piled up now with some of the guys doing it becoming relics
The good ones usually move on to other teams
We get stuck with Omar and Mando who offer nothing you didn’t already know and opinions that are rarely insightful
LOL… so true.
The national media outlets usually repeat the stories from Mando and Omar, unfortunately.
By the way, this may be a bit too over the top for some tastes, but the Dolphins May have passed on haskins knowing that he would be selected but washington and knowing that would take one team out of the market
They may have expressed interest in Daniel Jones knowing the Giants would not risk him falling to 17 and take him at 6
I’m not saying they did – and it’s smoke season and a lot of stuff doesn’t work
It getting Rosen at the price we did needed a lot of things to fall into place
Naples,
No, Ken, pundits, me, and a lot of other people are right. The Cards mishandled this as much as humanly possible. The reality is that Rosen still had decent value and they probably would have just kept him once 3rd round offers were the only ones provided. Grier completely fleeced them while winning the QB he wanted. There’s a reason our draft is rated an A+ if Rosen is included. It’s probably the best QB deal the past decade.
Where Zona fucked up. No pre-draft shopping of Rosen. They tried to keep everyone in the dark but no one was buying it. 95% of mocks had Murray #1 and we know NFL FOs knew the same thing for at least 6 weeks. Miami and several other teams had been in talks for weeks over Rosen. They should have had a concrete plan and probably a deal in place by Thursday. night. Which leads into my next point.
They had no clue their market would dry up so quickly. How do you not know 2-3 other QBs will be picked in the first round? It happens every year. How do you think that affects the Rosen market? Really, really stupid. By the middle of the draft, everyone knew Miami was in the drivers seat. Arizona lost all leverage at that point. They didn’t have a clue and it fucked them bad.
Finally, they treated their franchise QB from a year ago like trash. Kept him in the dark, lied to him, and didn’t even have the professionalism to set up a trade in advance. They didn’t even give him the tools for success while throwing him in the fire last year. It’s a terrible look and makes other FOs, players, and maybe even the owner wonder if he’s got the right people there for success. My short answer is, NO. This FO will will be short-lived because they’ve screwed the pooch multiple times in just two years.
I agree on all points
Indecision will kill negotiation
You have to know what you want to do as a FO. Being the #1 pick is an advantage
When a team comes up to #1 – that doesn’t have to happen on draft day, that can happen weeks before
The Cardinals look foolish
Also they treated Rosen like 🗑 during the process
Yeah, you posted my answer a lot quicker than I did lol. They probably could have at least gotten a mid range 2nd and planned how they would use that pick weeks in advance. The GM said he fell in love with Murray after film study which was probably finished in March. He’s had a really long time to come up with a plan. He could have told Rosen the same old story all QBs know. New coaches want their own QB but we can make sure we put you in the best situation to succeed. Much more classy than what they did. If they don’t value QBs, which players can trust they will value they either?
Grier looked like cat playing with a mouse on Friday. Not a good look for them.
Ben Volin was real good one. I wish he would come back . . .
Another solid Dolphins guy who ended up on the Pats roster.
Agreed
I’m going to move to FLA and steal one of those guys jobs! Anyone have connections?
I know a guy who knows a guy who has a cousin
That’s a start! lol
i can send You the address to Sun Sentinel, lol
i have a couple contacts that work for the SS< but they are in marketing and ads, not personell or HR.
i used them when I had My Boca office up and running
i used to get Dolphins club level tickets for free, but i dont have an office in Boca anymore, so no more club level tix for Me
Wyo – Would teams even think that Rosen would be available? If a team had an injury, would they call the Bills and expect to be able to get Josh Allen? It seems you don’t think we want Rosen to be our franchise QB
I am happy we made the move we did!
But never forget the team that just drafted him @10 Shopped him for an upgrade!
And they should know more about him than anyone????
I don’t know one way or the other??????????
But we were playing the what if game?
I’m not saying anything other than my thoughts on that particular question!
BUTTTTTTTTTT!
We are still rebuilding!
Like I said by then we should have done OTA’s, and Pre-season. We should have a good idea if he’s going to be the answer or not!
IF he’s not keep stockpiling draft picks!
Not sure if you guys outside the tri-state know who Kim Jones is, she works for WFAN in NY as well as the NFL. In an interview with Dave Gettleman, she asked Gettleman a question about Daniel Jones and Gettleman said “Listen Dahlin’, we’ll see” A lot of people found that very disrespectful.
She does NFLN cut-ins on the Giants
Yep. They thought hit was very condescending that he called her darling.
i dont know the guy , but he sounds like a dinosaur
Sad story.

Grier’s job is just about done now it’s up to Flores to capture this team, breathe life into it and get them all on the same page. He preaches the right things constantly so I have no reason to believe he won’t have success – we want the SHOW ME for once.
From what have read — one thing am convinced of is that Flores is a great position coach and player motivator. What am not sure of is if he will have the Xs and Os without the evil genius looking over his shoulder. Oddly enough — it’s a flip from what was thinking about Gase.
I just hope Haskins doesn’t tear the league a new ass
Me too!
Suh is still available, just saying
Hyde put together ten takes on our draft from “experts.” Only thing for sure about them is that they loved the value in getting Rosen and that some will be proven wrong and some right.

Son you worried about not having enough time to worship Cam and Dwayne??
It could become taxing on my time
I saw Endgame last night. I wanted to love it, but despite some really great moments, it wasn’t nearly as good as Infinity War IMO.
Christian Wilkins will be perfect for Miami when we are practicing in the Miami August heat.
He is the waterboy!,,,,,,,,
On fall Wednesdays, when Suffield’s junior varsity football team played its games, Wilkins served as the water guy.
“I took a lot of pride in that, too,” Wilkins said, smiling. “All those boys were well hydrated.”
He’s a unique guy.
yes. theres an old saying, the way You do one thing, is the way You do all things
Wilikins takes alot of pride in being the best waterboy, guess what,
he will take alot of pride in being the best DL for his favorite team, Miami!
Son,
I really like Haskins and he’s in the NFC so it won’t hurt quite as bed but Grier, being a Parcells disciple, probably never would have picked Haskins until the value was almost ridiculously high. That’s the narrative that helps me sleep at night, lol. It hurt seeing him passed on but Rosen has a lot of the same tools and is a bit more athletic as well.
I don’t like to parrot the media perspective, but I also can see Rosen having massive improvement in just his second year. I hope Shea is that guy for him. but I know he will have better support than in Zona. The NFL also does everything it can to help these young QBs succeed.
I’m really excited to see him in action. I’m not sure if we have the WR tools he needs yet but Fitz will show us that. Fitz knows how to use his tools and was a fantastic addition. We should really know where our offense is at even if he only plays 4-5 games.
If Wilkins was off the board we may have gone there but Wilkins and who he is and what he brings to this team is very tough to pass up. We got a natural leader and productive, versatile player. I’m good and looking forward to Rosen becoming better than Allen and Darnold.
WTF is wrong with people???????
Sad. I posted the story earlier.
Wyo – I honestly think the Cardinals just made a move to get the QB that their new HC campaigned to get. I think Kingsbury just thinks Murray is the perfect QB to run his offense and Keim gave him what he wanted. I don’t think it was a knock against Rosen. I also don’t think we look at Rosen as a commodity, I think we genuinely want him to be our starting QB
I definitely think they want Rosen to become their franchise QB. He’s going to have to compete for it though. As will every other player under Flores. The “nobody is a starter yet” motto.
Rosen IS the future of the franchise at qb. We are NOT tanking and we are NOT drafting another quarterback in the 1st rd next year. Ain’t happening. The narrative is some of the dumbest stuff I’ve ever heard said about this team.
I for one am not going to think Rosen went from Meh to world beater since I watched him in college.
But I’ll keep an open mind, and I’ll hope he pans out!
Just like I did with Tanny!
Rosen can feel free to change my opinion!
And I REALLY hope he does!
Was a low risk investment (potential NFL QB-wise) with a potentially high return.
Oh I loved the move!
I see no downside at all!
A FEW SORDID DETAILS FROM THE PALM BEACH POST”S coverage of the Robert Kraft affair:
“A Jupiter police detective testifies that the Orchids of Asia Day Spa was an “illegitimate business” after he watched…8 men got off a golf cart and went inside. One of the men came back outside, did a “Touchdown Jesus” celebration with his arms raised to the heavens, then went back inside. Later, Detective Andrew Sharp interviewed some of the 25 men charged with soliciting prostitution and found out the business had an “early bird special” that provided a discount on sex acts for men who showed up before 1 PM.
This report further details how Kraft’s high profile New York based law team subpoenaed 30 witnesses for this second class misdemeanor case in an effort to supress the release of tapes of Kraft’s participation in sex acts at a house of prostitution. However, Detective Sharp did testify that this was not a run-of-the-mill prostitution business. “It was a criminal enterprise,” he further stated. Thus the need to install tape recording equipment at this place.
On Jan.19, Kraft’s chauffeured Bentley limousine was pulled over immediately after Kraft’s visit to the spa. Kraft asked the officer “if he was a MIAMI DOLPHIN’S FAN ?” He then showed off his Super Bowl ring while explaining he had to fly to Kansas City the next day for the AFC championship game.
Kraft returned to the spa the next day for another sexual encounter. The report stated that “Time was of the essence so the sexual act began immediately.” Kraft promptly finished his business and got to Kansas City in time for the game.”
WHAT A GUY!
“Kraft asked the officer “if he was a MIAMI DOLPHIN’S FAN ?” — LMAO. Did Kraft think that was gonna be a winning Q with the cop?
no disrespect to You OD, but the stories getting old to be honest. the draft just happened, exciting times are here!
i dont want to be thinking of some really old rich douchebag patriots guy getting penis gratification, lol
he should be banned from the state, kraft sucks!
The trade between Miami and Arizona for Josh Rosen on Thursday is a WIN-WIN because, not only did we get an additional 2nd rd pick by trading down first and give up just a #62 in the 2nd rd this year and a 2020 5th, we got ourselves our future franchise quarterback!!!
THAT is why it is a WIN-WIN. No other reason.

Great math, even exact value will depend on where the Saints pick ends up.
___________________________________________
I used the 25th pick in the 2nd rnd to approximate as i know N.O.’s will be a good team
Fair estimation — and probably similar to the one the Phins used. Way minds work, the Saints were probably thinking #32.
Grier went to the Panthers in the 3rd
