OK, this is a shocker, no two ways about it! In addition to trading away our cornerstone LT, we also traded away controversial WR Kenny Stills (BUH-bye) and future draft picks, a 2020 4th RD pick and a 2021 6th RD pick. What do we get in return for all of this??? TWO first RD picks, a 2020 1st RD and a 2021 1st RD pick and 2021 2nd RD pick as well. and two players, special teamer DB Johnson Bademosi and OT Julie’n Davenport.
I don’t even know how to digest all this to be honest. Things look great for the future, although now we have to find a legitimate LT which will probably require a high pick. I realize we have now have 2 first RD picks in both next year’s draft and also in 2021, but now the rebuild seems to be full on, and it’s going to require some patience here. While the future looks promising, I have my doubts about how competitive our team will be with a poor offensive line.
I understand well that no player is “untradeable”. There is a value for everything, and GM Chris Grier felt he got more value than he could turn down for his best OL and really the cornerstone of our offensive line, then he did the right thing. Time will tell, because Laremy Tunsil is a great tackle, he was an excellent pass protector as well as a demon in the run game. Kenny Stills was a deep threat WR who has been making big plays for us since he got here, but in limited quantities. He probably should have been more during his tenure here, and his decision to speak up against Dolphins owner Steve Ross probably led to him being a part of this trade as well..
What I guess we all have to realize is that this year is definitely compromised. I would say we all had some doubts about our O-line with Laremy Tunsil, so those doubts just intensified w/o him. Is Zach Sterup our LT? Do our QB’s routinely get “Julienned” if newly acquired OT Julie’n Davenport is playing LT? Do we pick up another LT off the cut scrap heap? LG Michael Deiter’s job just got a whole lot more difficult, wouldn’t you think?
Next year’s draft should be exciting for us, but watching this season, at least for me at this moment, looks to be a scary prospect. I think we’re putting an inferior product on the field on offense, with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick starting behind what appears to be a very shaky O-line. We heard rumors about a locker room revolt if Laremy Tunsil was traded, I suppose we’ll see if that’s true or not. I hope it’s not, because things may tough enough for this team this season without that.

With only 3 DT’s on the roster, I think our DL will be really gassed by the second half in the Miami heat against the Ravens.
we only have ONE offensive tackle on the team other than the guy who lead the league at the OL Position in penalties and was 2nd place in allowed sacks last season. That guy is Prince a 7th rounder. Then we have guards playing Tackle and one tackle on the practice squad.
This could be a historically bad O line this year.
Good thing we only have Fitz and Rosen back there.
That is odd, but I expect to see some exotic looks, with less 4 down lineman than we saw in preseason.

I saw someone reference the link to the “Depth Chart” above. You mean the Lack of depth chart?
Do we have ANY OT’s on the team other than Julie’n Davenport?
On a completely different subject. What is with the fucking apostrophe in Davenport’s name? What is the purpose of a pause after the E before the N? It doesn’t even make sense structurally. Ignorance grows more popular every year.

Hey Rob, I didn’t pick the same score as David. Other than thinking that the Dolphins will lose I don’t see how we think alike. (unless it is our agreement that you are a dumbass)
that was a compliment!
Where is Ajayi playing this season?
Ajayi may need an injury somewhere to get a call, but at least he’s now healthy and ready to contribute
I’m more worried about Calhoun vs Davis, Davis played well in the preseason at RT
Davis is our best OL now that Tunsil is gone, but Deiter by season’s end may give him a run for his money. Kilgore is good enough. Calhoun is not long for his spot. Couch will have to do at LT.
More transactions will be coming before game 1, like PS guys going to the 53.
Will Lamar Jackson puke in the 4th qtr? Will his OL hold up in the heat? If we can keep it close…
I don’t know if he will be puking in the 4th but he will most definitely be limping.

Josh Rosen is the better player, but Ryan Fitzpatrick is the leader this young team needs right now. Fitzpatrick has experienced the highs and lows of football and the coaching staff is hoping he can keep things together in the beginning. It’s only a matter of time before Rosen takes over the starting job at some point during the season, but Fitzpatrick’s leadership should be a plus for the start of the season.
I mentioned basically the same thing yesterday. With the OL being what it is and all the player movement the past couple of days I really see no other choice than Fitz.

Here is my useless prediction for this season. 90% of our opponents will lose the game the week following playing us. (they may (ok, most likely will) beat us, but they will lose the following game)
(I’m excluding the Ravens who play the Cardinals week two)

—————————————————–
I think Calhoun is secure at his spot, for this year at least. Deiter is already our best OL, and id say Kilgore is probably the second best. The OL isnt spectacular but its serviceable. LT to me is the big ?, Davenport i think has the tools to be good but his rookie year was certainly rough. Have to see if he bounces back. If he does this OL isnt shit, its just a work in progress.
Didn’t know the Big Couch was a rookie last year, that changes everything. Tunsil struggled in year 2 playing LT, not to the tune of 12 sacks, but…
Sucks, but I will be on a plane and unable to watch the game.
That might be a blessing . . .
https://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/20190902/miami-dolphins-can-julien-davenport-learn-offense-in-seven-days-and-start-at-left-tackle
CAN Julian Davenport learn our offence in 7 days?
Not F’n likely!
From what I have heard, supposedly John Harbaugh is going to unveil his “new” offensive scheme this week that will up-play Lamar Jackson’s strengths…..
John Harbaugh: Ravens’ offense will be unlike any we’ve seen in the NFL
We will see John, we will see.
Someone already Re-introduced the wild cat John.
https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player/710/lamar-jackson
It is funny there are two articles about Jackson, one right after the other in this link.
The first says Jackson expects to run much less this season than he did last year and the next is the coach saying that he will be running a lot more than last year….. Ha ha
I don’t believe the narrative!
But I want the Tank! 🙂
It’s pretty sad (and telling) that nobody picked up the guys we cut before we got them on the practice squad??????
I’m sorta thinking we will see Durval Queiroz Neto on the 53 at some point…… even if not this year.
Steve – Your score prediction is absurd! How do you figure we score 10 points???
Lol
ORob, did you realize the Ravens are favored to win? And You still predicted Miami to win, with the offense putting 26 points on the board? With Fitz starting behind a Frankenstein OL?
No one here knows the scores every week before the games, if we did we would be vegas millionaires
Why they play the games. And yeah a lot of the predictions have a whole lot of homer in them, but you should get that. At one point you were saying we would hit the playoffs this season.
That was when he was looking through rosen colored glasses. (Why I still can’t understand)
When i made the playoff prediction i was in full blown tank denial, and thought Rosen would be named starter
But since then, Many players are gone, and
This team is unpredictable, we don’t even barely know the names of all the players yet, never mind if they can help us or not
I would love to see these guys crush the Ravens, I can’t stand the dirty birds as much as anyone else
But I have also checked out the Ravens team a little, and researched some of their sites
I feel like we are in over our head on this game, but in my heart I would love to see the new guys shock the world with a huge win
And Steve is right about games played, nobody knows the final scores until the games are final
I only predicted a possible outcome, not really one that I want
Correction, Stanger mentioned that, not Steve, 😎

Players are going for the moon
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Jane Slater reported Wednesday that the Cowboys and Elliott have agreed to a six-year, $90 million extension, per sources informed of the deal. In all, it’s $103 million over eight years, with $50 million guaranteed, Rapoport added. The team later confirmed the deal.
From CBS’s 100 predictions for season 100:
These are all you need to read
39. Dolphins finish with the worst record in the NFL
2019 is going to be a forgetful season for Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins. They’ll be lucky to scratch off three wins on the year and will own the worst record in the league when it’s all said and done. The good news is they’ll be in prime position to take any of the elite quarterback prospects as they’ll own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
— via Sullivan
40. Josh Rosen takes over as Dolphins’ starter following Week 5 bye
While he wasn’t bad in the preseason, Josh Rosen did not convince Dolphins head coach Brian Flores that he should be Miami’s Week 1 starter ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick. With that in mind, Flores decided to start the season with Fitzpatrick, who should be more capable than Rosen when it comes to navigating through the Dolphins’ daunting start to the season (they face Baltimore, New England, Dallas and the Los Angeles Chargers in successive weeks) before entering their Week 5 bye. Rosen makes his first start with the Dolphins at home against the Washington Redskins in Week 6, given him 12 weeks to convince Miami that he can be their long-term solution at quarterback.
— via DeArdo
75. Josh Rosen fails to look like the answer
You can blame it on another bad situation, you can blame it on Ryan Fitzpatrick’s persistence, you can blame it on Rosen’s flaws, or you can blame it on all of them. The ex-Cardinal will get a shot at some point in 2019, but he won’t come close to convincing Miami he’s their future.
— via Benjamin
100. Tom Brady retires
Forty-two years old. Twenty NFL seasons. Six Super Bowl rings. Four Super Bowl MVP awards. Near the top in nearly every career passing category. With nothing more to prove, and with the Patriots failing to make it back to the Super Bowl for a fourth consecutive year, Tom Brady decides to end a career that will go down as arguably the greatest in pro football history. While Bill Belichick will remain in New England, an incredible era in NFL history will officially end.
— via DeArdo
Been one of the ones saying Rosen will get his first start after the bye. Am hoping he does look like the answer though. Brady retire would be nice too, but actually cool if he waits one more year. We won’t be ready yet.
U75 as per usghe.
Josh Rosen, Miami Dolphins
Strengths: Rosen’s throwing talent and his ability to make big-time throws (tight window, down the seam, back shoulder, throws on the run) illustrated why he was a first-round draft pick in 2018. He can and does make every throw with a strong arm that threatens defenses deep, and he has the ability to extend plays and throw off schedule.
Weaknesses: There is room for improvement in the accuracy department, and, like we saw in his rookie season (19 turnovers), his poor decision-making was still evident at times during the preseason.
GRADE: B+. Rosen improved throughout the preseason and outplayed starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. Rosen earned the right to start in the season opener, but I understand why Miami is rolling with the veteran Fitzpatrick, whose experience will be an asset early in the season against two top-five defenses from 2018 (Baltimore and New England). Questions about Rosen’s leadership qualities and ability to stay disciplined with the game plan are still unanswered at this point.

Steve, its look like i was off, he was a 2017 4th rd pick. so i guess he has been in the league 2 years. effectively one year of playing experience i guess guess because he only has one year of playing experience. Also, it looks like he played last year at RT because he was moved there from LT when Seantrell Henderson got injured in September of that year. That could explain some of the issues he had protecting the passer, since he was playing opposite of the side he was use to. I looked up his combine stuff and it looks like he is a little bit heavy footed and raw. The technique issues that were reported at the combine, fixable, and hopefully our coaches can get that done. His physical traits are off the chain, and you cant train that. The issue with his footwork can sorta be worked on but those big plodding feet are probably never going to be elite, and the difference between a good LT and a great one is in the footwork and foot speed.

Kiko wasnt really good enough, football IQ wise for that system. He is a see ball get ball kinda guy and this sytem is all about knowing your role on any given snap and doing it. It takes better read/diagnose skills than Alonzo had. Again, that not really a hit on Alonzo, he fits some systems well, but i give him credit for realizing this wasnt one and not wasting our time nor his.
D — the one thing that is clear is that system fit is huge right now. My problem is don’t know exactly what is needed to fit the system. Darn sure gonna be a most different one though. And liked what saw in the preseason games.
to even think Miami will be the worst team in the league is stupid, We are not that far off from the team we had last year that was 7-6 at one point and we’ve improved in certain areas such as QB and HC decision making, Defensive scheme.
even more stupid is thinking we are tanking for Tua.
even if we were the worst team i highly doubt miami would take a qb with the early pick, they just spent a 2nd rnder on rosen and it takes more than a year to find out if he’s your guy, add the fact that he’s not even starting.
are we worse than the cards?
No way, I’ve seen a lot of their preseason games, and had to turn they off they were so bad. Secondary and OL especially.
we may be the first team in the history of superbowls to have a home game!
Give us a couple of years and I think we’ll be ready. Too bad the game won’t be in Miami
Hey everyone, I hope everyone is doing well!!
This is going to be an interesting season, to say the least. I’m hoping we at least have the fundamentals down and the players look to be playing as a team.
Wow! Welcome aboard Captain!
Where the F have you been my friend? But no name would rather see.
Good Captain – As I’ve said many times, I just want to see this team improve each week, and see a significant difference from the product at the beginning of the season and the end. That would include everyone doing their job properly and like you said fundamentals.
How have you been? Glad to see you visiting!
I’ve been insanely busy with my new Restoration and remodel business. Sorry I haven’t kept up.. going to definitely try to get in here much more. Looking forward to seeing some real football, not saying Miami will look that way lol!
Stanger ,I definitely would take that outcome “no name “
I see the fest is October 13th . I’ll probably buy tickets this weekend or wait until October 12 when they’re giving them away, j/k
Can get seats for you with us. Just $55 on like the 30. We can talk about it. Is your e-mail same as before? Mine is.

Sent you some info about the Fest but key thing is lean back, pop a beer and hang out on the board. 🙂
We pick up a DT and he’s sick of being here already? lol
Its that South Beach flu…. they’ll come around lol
i found 7 different power rankings, and every one of them has the Fins ranked 32
fins get no respect
Well at least we can’t get worse on our rankings
whats up Cap Stubbs, happy to hear about Your new business, been doing any fishing?
Oh yeah I’ve been doing it up this year
How’s the ac business
i sold the business, now im just doing sales
i have an offshore boat i keep near jupiter, hopefully its still there, lol
ive been trolling for grouper and pelagics,i did great in the winter and fall, but its been a slow summer, too many sharks
Very nice. I got a new baby boat, offshore boat this winter.
Where do u go out? I normally go Jupiter or palm beach, but sometimes I go down to boca or key largo
Sounds hypocritical
I always thought that too, sharks are hypocrites, always pretending to be fish but they aren’t, lol
Largo is my favorite, I spent 3 weeks there last December reef fishing, and trolling grouper with hard plastic deep divers.
The trolling for grouper is so much fun I forgot about dropping on the reef..
. My biggest gag was 39 inches
Not sure why we’re worried about our rankings. Being realistic, from the outside looking in, why would anyone rank us higher? If we were #29, would everyone feel better? Should we be top 10 just because? We have 2 QB’s with well below sub .500 records, the team was sub .500 before these 2 QB’s got here. and we did just trade away our starting LT on a line that was questionable at best to start, and that was with Laremy Tunsil. Who cares? This is a fluid ranking system anyway. If we beat the Ravens, we won’t be #32 anymore.
Because we are dolfans…. that’s what we do lol
Lol good answer
LOL – I’m a fan too, but maybe I’m just more realistic than others. The season hasn’t even started. I think by looking at the data available, we belong somewhere between 29-32. Keep in mind the tank narrative may be influencing a lot of people outside of FLA who make these rankings. They probably bought into that story.
I would feel a little better, if we could move up to 31 in at least one of the polls, lol
A Ravens win should do it
I’ve had a couple trips to marathon, islamorada and Miami. Catching the yellow tail and mahi bite. I’m dying for a huge bull on the fly. I hook up however they keep spitting my fly. Red snapper fishing… right out of ponce this year was amazing. Sometimes ft pierce as well, closer to the gulf stream. We also limited out scalloping less than hour for our 3 days in steinhatchee
I did well on yellowtails, muttons, and mangos, but not a single red snapper
Mahi are great eating and fight good, but grouper rules the fighting world!
Nothing fights pound for pound like an oversized angry gag grouper , when I got my first one, I was hooked and didn’t want to do any other kind of fishing!
lol. They spoil You
They totally pull like no other in the beginning then they kind of give up however I believe size to size pulling the reef donkey/ amberjack wins. Just not the best table fare. I just love the top water bite of the dolphin and the aerial acrobatics.
Yes, the AJ is a formidable beast, but I don’t like them because they aren’t good to eat
Grouper trolling a shallow reef is a different fight than pulling one up off a deep reef, it’s something to be experienced
Just an interesting note, if someone mentioned already, disregard.
Our defensive depth chart is done as a 3-4 base formation.
My goodness, look what the Hurricane blew in. My second favorite Captain.
Cap Stubbs — how is Cap Randy doing? He was a hoot.
Capt Randy is killing it he’s so busy and he’s still as crazy as ever. He may come down again
He could not have been more part of the crew. Which might just show how off the wall it is. 🙂
Hey herd !!! Hope everything has been great with you.
Captain Randy, he will put You on to some of the slimiest catfish You have ever seen, lol
Tell him I said hello
And left the rest of the cats for him, lol
Lol catfish Dave
It was nothing for us. Lost power for 4 hrs I think we were the longest in the state lol. The poor bohamians though
That was to herd on our hurricane
When you catch those grouper, do you eat them?
They go in the ice box, and when I get home, hell yes, very delicious
Stubbs, good to see you man. Glad things are going well for you. Would love to see you at the Fest. We all stay on Hollywood Beach now. Neptune Inn close to Margaritaville where some folks stay as well.
This hurricane was nothing (for us) breezy and a little rain.
Son are you still in the same place?
Yes I am
Naples I would take you grouper trolling in the winter, It’s not very productive right now, the grouper are too deep
Trolling is fun!! There is a local lady that kills them here in the intracoastal. She’s badass
It sure is, I love trolling for grouper, sometimes I get something else like kings, blackfins, wahoo, I’ve even caught some flag yellow tails and oversized muttons trolling
I have Capt Randy’ s Tug of War fishing charter friended on FB and always posting the daily catch. He’s staying busy and he’s bringing in the fish. It’d cool as shit to see his crazy ass again.
Yes, I was with You and Randy when You caught that big red, that was a nice fish!
Well Randy hooked it but that was the biggest fish I’ve ever tugged on.
Randy did put me onto a giant redfish, biggest one I had ever seen in that part of the river, and I dropped a perfect cast on his nose. He struck it, and missed the hooks, damn. He would have been way over the slot limit though
Yes that was good times. I want to say sorry to any and all on roadblocking the blog.
Mr knight glad to hear from you. Everyone else I missed like Naples, crazy rob, nj phin fan. Who I’m sure is the hulk or should be.im glad to be back with my crazy fans
A Captain sighting! Good to see you here man! Hope all is well.
Fest update: Chef Warren is doing the tailgate again. He acted like having a toddler made it tough….. what the F was he thinking? 🙂
Guilted him into by explaining it would be like Thanksgiving without Mom doing it. He’s a good dude. Show your appreciation.
Kiko not liking how the new defense is run kind of fits with what some here have said that he doesn’t seem like the sharpest guy, and this defense requires a lot of different assignments and thinking. We weren’t a fit for him and he wasn’t a fit for us.
I weep at the sight of such beauty
People can say all they want about QBs and Super Bowls but anyone who watched him play knows he was the best pure passer EVER!!!! He made throw after throw that boggled the mind. 🙂
Still possibly my favorite Marino game. It was a beauty. It was also a very exciting game
Yep! And his comeback.
Capt Stubbs, we rent a house at Keaton Beach to do our scalloping out of there.
I love the west coast so many hidden gems over there
Son, I think you posted a pic of that red you caught. Nice fish. Are they good eating?
Was pretty good, you can’t keep the big ones the range you can keep is like 17-28” or whatever. I put too much cayenne pepper though lol. It’s mostly the novelty of eating what you catch it’s not a fish you’d see to often in restaurants. We did get some keepers but the boss had to go back.
18-27 is the slot limit on reds

Capt. Stubbs,
GRAND to see ya posting again after such a long absence! Sounds like all is well with ya… welcome back aboard!
I feel like I missed how great The Man really was, because I was young and didn’t know better.
Everytime I watch old games/clips I am just in awe of how great he was. Nobody I have seen is even close to him.
#13 🐐
Those throws are just amazing. The one that freaks me out the most was the one where he had move backwards to avoid the rush and it looked so awkward and possibly painful, like one leg was stuck in cement, and then he fires a perfect laser right in stride to TE Keith Jackson (I believe that was that play, not sure). Tannehill couldn’t make that throw at a Fest just throwing the ball around with us in the parking lot! LOL
Yep. Just a flick and perfect
He once made a throw to Duper where the corner was all over him on a crossing route and Danny put the ball on his hip with a laser in the only place it could have gone. The corner was baffled how that was even possible. I believe it was the playoff game against the Browns when we were trailing 21-3 at the half in 1985 in Bernie Kosar’s rookie season and we came back to win 24-21.
Test
This is a fluid ranking system anyway. If we beat the Ravens, we won’t be #32 anymore.
Reply
Funny thing about those ratings. They don’t seem to be based on reality. Miami has OFTEN beaten teams ranked 10-15 places higher and will move up one spot while the other team drops one…..
If ya get a message draft has already happened ignore it , it stars in 10 mins
I drafted all the best players already. You saying I have to give them back???
Actually, the draft says less than 7 minutes

Because of his sword? Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. Herd you’re part of this crazy fraternity and know that I meant no disrespect. LOL
Because Captain Morgan is everyone’s favorite Captain. LOL
Captain, Captain
Is that a flintlock in your waistbelt or are you just happy to see me?
Good to see you Mr. Stubbs!

Redfish is a pretty standard menu item here in Texas!
I bet you we can get two first round picks for him…….
I we could he’d be gone! 😉
Guilted him into by explaining it would be like Thanksgiving without Mom doing it. He’s a good dude. Show your appreciation.

LOL, in his 50’s with a toddler. Best way to show our appreciation would be to cover for him while he snuck an hour nap.
One tired man these days for sure.
When I go fishing I usually catch one fish. Not red fish, not two fish or blue fish

People can say all they want about QBs and Super Bowls but anyone who watched him play knows he was the best pure passer EVER!!!! He made throw after throw that boggled the mind. 🙂
Reply
He just let the ball go and it went exactly where he wanted it to go. Didn’t matter where, boop it was there.
He was amazing!
I have to update my app so I may be late to the draft

I weep at the sight of such beauty
—————
That makes two of us weeping at the sight of such beauty, D. Thanks for posting this video.
Speaking strictly for myself, I tend to get accustomed and acclimated to the modern game by watching so much football every year. And even though I was raised on Marino (starting from his rookie season), I’m still astonished by how quickly he loads and unloads the ball… and with such velocity and precision to have his receivers catch the ball in-stride.
Re-watching anything Marino did… it reminds me of how truly spoiled we were to have him as our QB. I mean, there IS a very good reason as to why every QB we’ve fielded since Marino falls drastically short in comparison: there will only ever be ONE Dan Marino… and those of us fans who witnessed him saw a once-in-a-lifetime QB.
In MY eyes (and W/O the homerism), he’s the greatest QB who ever played the game. Period.
Ditto! John Madden’s favorite QB was Joe Montana when he became a commentator, but he once said if you want to see what an NFL QB who can make all the throws looks like, go watch Dan Marino practice.
YUP! I recall Madden saying as much, too.
IMO, I think the NFL (now celebrating it’s 100 year anniversary) needs to define eras.
Maybe a little something like this…
I. Pre-merger era (1919-1966)
II. Merger era (1967-2000)
III. 2K era (2001-current)
*
I. Pre-merger era (1919-1965)
II. Merger era (1966-1999)
III. 2K era (2000-present)
Another moment about Marino I remember that was in 1984 was PIT OLB Jack Lambert thought he had Marino sacked and as he got up to celebrate, something caught his attention. The pass was completed for a nice gain and he looked so frustrated. LOL
Remember this was an era where QBs still got knocked around, not like in Bradyville. Sorry to say but it’s true.
Do NOT be sorry to say, man. And in Marino’s days, the diminutive Clayton and Duper were knocked around, too. Nothing like this “2K era”, where receivers can’t be touched within 5 yards of running their routes.
It’s truly AMAZING how great Dan Marino was!
Yep! Some of my football fan friends can’t seem to put Brady in that era and think that sluggish flatfoot would have never survived. He wouldn’t have. He would have never made it to Brady. Just my opinion but I’m sticking to it. LOL
Besides the competitor in Dan, the arm and quick release… he had elite pocket awareness and footwork.
WELCOME BACK CAPTAIN STUBBS!! IF memory serves me right, the last time I saw you was at the first Fest—is that right?
—————-
MY prediction for Game 1. To quote Clubber Lang, “Prediction? — PAIN!”
Ravens — 30
Dolphins — 13
—————-
The first episode of “Tank For Tua” is a success. And a near full house will be there to see it.
The following week features the sequel to the “Miracle in Miami.” We all know most sequels are worse than the original. This one is no exception.
Patriots — 38
Dolphins — 6
The Patriots game will be the last sellout of the season in Miami until the Super Bowl.
Show me? 😉
ROSS HAS ALREADY SHOWN ME he doesn’t have a clue for over a decade.
I PRAY this is the FINAL INSTALLMENT of his REIGN OF FUTILITY.–OUT for tonight.
OD. I’m more focused on what Grier and Flores are doing and I get it. It’s tough to accept but it had to happen. We’re not void of some nice talent but we have more work to do, and in 2020 we’re going to be loaded and in good shape in 2021 as well. Teams can turn around quickly because of the cap system and acquiring extra draft picks. 2020 is a huge offseason for us. Two 1’s and two 2’s along with probably over $80M in cap space annually. What I mean by that is you can add 8 FA/players at $10M per to turn around your team. Sure there will be a big fish along the way too. Now go back to the draft. The 2020 Miami Dolphins could be scary. 🙂
Capt Stubbs
Thank you Sir for the shout out.
Great to see you back on here and doing so well in the real world, too.
Up in Charleston where I am from they go out to the gulf stream, which i did once,
but that is waaaayyyy the hell out in the Atlantic.
Then there’s all the back bays, mud flats, and brackish sloughs.
But I know nothing on the subject of fishing.
I am an idiot and ignorant about the sport.
Down here in Naples a lot of guys swear the best tasting fish is snook,
but for some reason there is no commercial market in them,
so you never see them in restaurants, like they’re endangered or something.
People leave a snook light on under their docks in the canals
and catch them on cotton and bread dough. (I think)
Does any of that make sense?
I have zero expertise in fishing.

about grouper
I am hyper allergic to grouper, perch, and turbot.
anaphylactic
My throat swells so that my airway closes up, and I can’t breathe.
I can get that just from being in the room where the oils are in the air
such as on “grouper night” or all you can eat grouper fest..
I can detect grouper at quite a distance as my lips start swelling and itching
and my throat gets scratchy at 20 feet from a grouper sandwich.
I get red splotchy hives all over my face and neck and chest
if in the kitchen with them cooking
and if i touch the meat, my hands swell until I can’t touch any fingertip to the one next to it.
I love redfish, bluefish, pompano, mahi mahi, salmon, bass, trout, flounder, cod,
snapper, swordfish, tuna, and many other types of fish. I eat fish at least twice a week.
just not grouper
why do you think they call them “GAGS”
Go Dolphins.
Woot woot!
From the night owl… LOL
This is our current roster breakdown:
OL 9
TE 3
WR 5
QB 2
RB 5
FB 1
DE 3
DT 3
LB 8
DB 11
K 1
P 1
LS 1
I don’t think it will stay like this all season and maybe there is more in the hopper on the DL. The interesting thing is it seems like we want to be fast for week one – against Lamar Jackson
Telling that we have 6 DL and 8 LBs, that screams we’ll be using 4 man fronts a lot less often, than we did in preseason. Notice I didn’t say we’ll be using more 3-4 than 4-3.
I expect to see a lot of exotic crap this game. Stop Jackson and that goes a long way towards winning.
We may do it slowly (as in not right away), but I expect to see an LB heavy D, like the Chargers used against the Ravens in playoffs.

You guys who “just can’t see how this team is worse than last season” read that article.
It’s not just trading away Tunsil. Rosen will take over week 6 after the bye already at 0-4 And will be running for his life the rest of the season
Your first clue to the reliability of the article, is the SS part of the link!
That U75 article doesn’t take into account we’ll be doing whatever it takes to slow down the passrush.

damn cheap owner!
The cheapest, I’m embarrassed being a Fin’s Fan.
🙂
Carrying 5 RBs is a good sign of success, it would appear this coach wants to run the ball and that’s always a good thing.
It’s a good sign they believe in the talent at RB too.
Can’t wait to see Laird play, he may be the 1st down back. I’d like to see him play some FB.
i’ll believe it when i see it, if Drake can remain the #1 RB on this team, my hats off to the coach.
he’s in a contract year, i would be surprised if we gave him his next contract, i would think we would trade him.
