There’s hope. While there are many things compromised by the deep roster purge, there are glimmers of hope. The first half of this game it wasn’t that obvious which team had just emptied its roster and which team was probably a contender to be the best team in their conference. The Miami Dolphins actually had an edge in T.O.P. in the first half, 16:11 to 13:49. The first drive looked nice yet K Jason Sanders failed to convert the FG to give the Dolphins their first lead of the season. Despite the fact that we didn’t score, it was evident this team had a different feel with QB Josh Rosen at the helm instead of Ryan Fitzpatrick. There was confidence, aggressiveness, and in general there was life in this offense.
The defense wasn’t especially strong, but in the first half they were in the game. There’s still no pass rush, and we don’t look great against the run, but the Cowboys high powered offense was held in check in the first half. You want depressing? This kills me by the way. I know it’s early in the season, but here are the 3 sack leaders on our team. All newcomers, John Jenkins, Vince Biegel and now Taco Charlton who has played only one game are all tied with a grand total of 1 sack! Not one Dolphins defender who was here last year or longer has a sack. That’s ugly. I guess I was wrong about Taco, he’s better than what we got (Ugh!).
DeVante Parker still remains the enigma he’s always been. He’ll make the wonderful contested catch with a very low chance of success, and then run an easy crossing route with no defender within 5 yards and allow an easy floater to go right through his hands. That could have been a TD. Preston Williams seems to have passed him on the reliability chart and it seems that Rosen and Williams have good rhythm between them. Jakeem Grant was extremely amped up to play in front of his home crowd in Texas and his hands were even more amped up, dropping not only another punt but a couple of passes too. How much longer does Grant get to field punts? That should be a legitimate question.
It’s only 3 games, but I can’t think of one guy on our defense who has been impressive. What happened to our LB’s Jerome Baker and Raekwon McMillan? They have been quieted to the point you forget they’re there. Sam Eguavoen who made lots of noise in preseason has come back down to earth. Yesterday was different, the Cowboys made our best defender Xavien Howard look like Eric Rowe for a game. They picked on X all game and were successful doing so. This is one X would like to forget, but I’m sure Rowe was thankful to have the pressure off him for 1 week. To be fair, Eguavoen led the team in tackles yesterday, but there hasn’t been an impact play all season. I’m wondering if Christian Wilkins blew his load trying to body bump Roger Goodell at the draft because he hasn’t been seen nor heard from since. It’s still early though so I’m far from panicking about him. Charles Harris though, oh boy . . .
I laugh to think how many discussions we’ve had here about which RB is better suited to be the feature back here in MIA. I’m pretty sure after 3 games that we haven’t seen him get regular playing time, because it’s clearly not either Kenyan Drake or Kalen Ballage. While Drake has the runaway speed he’s too much of a finesse runner. While Ballage has the size he’s too much Sta Puft for me. He goes down as soon as he sees the graham crackers coming. Also, both are supposed to be good receivers out of the backfield and this season they just keep dropping the ball. I think it’s just a matter of time before we see more of Mark Walton and Myles Gaskin. We’ve also been economical with our use of FB Chandler Cox and I’d like to see that change too.
Rosen is the reason. If you’re tuning in this year, you’re probably watching to see how the young QB fares, or you’re a masochist, either one. I think he brings lots of promise. I’m not sure if he can be an elite QB but he looks like he belongs on the playing field and his arm talent might be the best since good ole Danny boy. Granted, that isn’t saying all that much, you’ve seen the list of QB’s that have been here since ’99, it’s fugly! I said I wanted improvement every week, and although on the scoreboard it was just a tiny increment better, I know we were competitive, we could have been ahead. The 2nd half things unraveled, but when you’re looking for positives, you have to take them where you can find them. Maybe by season’s end we can put 2 halves together and play a solid game the whole way.
GO DOLPHINS!!

We’re trending upward. I expect we’ll actually keep it relatively close against the Chargers all game, then after the week off, we’ll vie for our first victory in Washington.
Let’s go Dolphins!!
Not in Washington in Miami that’s the Fest game
Whoops, my bad. It’s a fest game too? Oh yeah, that’s a win.
Third!
Yay!!! Something is not wrong in Miami. Um…..what was it again?

Whoops, my bad. It’s a fest game too? Oh yeah, that’s a win.
Is it? I haven’t been to all the fest games, but the only one I remember us winning was against Houston when we took it to them for 40 points in the first half. (man that was great)
We lost to Greenbay on the fake spike play. (SMH)
I don’t remember the outcome of the rest.
We beat Buffalo 28-25 in ’16, beat the Skins in ’11 20-9
Also beat the Jets in ’17 28-25, thanks to Ryan Fitzpatrick! 😛
LOL, I’m calling on the power of the fest and holding on to some shred of hope we can get a win this year, and the Redskins may be our best shot.
I really don’t want to go winless, especially the same year the Pets go unbeaten…
Homeraide obliterates the memory! Didn’t read the warning on the label?

Good article!
Oh Wait???????

OH sorry I read that as lick?????
SHHHHHHHH Don’t tell anybody! It will interrupt the whining! 😉
That’s awesome to read.
I previously stated he’s been invisible, but in all honesty I haven’t been catching much on the lines. I don’t have DirecTV this year. I’m streaming the games on firstrowsports, so I don’t have the luxury of going back and watching the games again like I usually do (2nd viewing for me is watching line play).
I’m glad to know my previous statement about him is wrong, and he is showing up 🙂

We play three other winless teams (winless so far) in the Steelers, Jets and Bengals so there is that.
I figure we got a good shot against Cincy and the Jest. We probably have 4 or 5 games with a shot for a victory. First one is coming up in 3 weeks.
Nice write Mike E

Whew finally some post worthy news!
Yeah yeah yeah Empowering blah blah blah
i don’t think the williams miss in the endzone was a drop, the defender got his hand in there and dislodged the ball.
i’m really liking the Rosen deal after seeing him play, rifle arm and great accuracy on those deep balls, elusive.
way better than tannehill.
starting off against 3 good contenders in the ravens..pats..and cowboys and a lot of the OL wasn’t here in training camp is why we are getting hammered.
we seem to be getting on solid ground now i expect this team to get better as the year goes on.
i think we’ve already hit rock bottom and are on our way up.

Good write Mike, now I don’t have to write about the game, you said it for me.😀
Thanks! Is that right? We share like opinions on what’s happening?
You saw what I saw. Once Drake fumbled I knew the momentum would change. We can’t afford turnovers like that.
I didn’t see all of the game late, why was Howard ejected?
Apparently they said he threw a punch. It was an open hand slap/shove to the helmet of some WR
He got into an altercation didn’t look too serious to me, but he was ejected anyway. I didn’t think much of it. He was clearly frustrated.
Oh okay thanks for the X info.

Tough day (to say the least) for #Dolphins CB Xavien Howard in Wk 3
Howard shadowed Cooper in coverage (as expected) but allowed all 5 targets thrown his way to be caught for 70 yards & 2 touchdowns (2 penalties as well)
28.9 overall grade was the lowest of his career#FinsUp

To go with the ejection he was half-assing plays too. Was just a really bad game for him, i hope he bucks up.

Home at last
Glad to hear that Ken. How are you feeling?
I feel good just anxiety about what caused this to happen and follow up appointments to come to figure that out
Ken – I hear that. Not knowing is scary. Do they have some theories?
Ken, glad you feel good and hope this is behind you.
Thank you Tim
I keep forgetting Wilkins changed his number to 94 from 97. I do remember 94 being pretty active in the game. He didn’t play great, but I did notice him so I have to disagree with Mike that he hasn’t been seen or heard from. 😉
That was pretty impressive that he could do that and he did an admirable job. He played LT in college quite a bit.
Maybe Mark Dixon 2.0?
I would like to get is former Wisconsin teammate in next year’s draft, Tyler Biadasz.
I meant to give props to Deiter. I thought he played LT at a much higher level than Davis has this year. Not sure if Davis should really get that job back.
I think the coaches are still trying to find the right 5 with all the personnel changes made late before the season. I’m more concerned with the run blocking than pass pro. Rosen had a pretty good pocket often enough although we also did a lot of max protect. Did you see that one play where Drake knocked Quinn or someone else on their ass on a double team? The tackle blocked him first and then Drake leveled him.
I mentioned it on the blog as soon as it happened. No one else caught it. He totally blew him up. Davis started to engage him and then he went by and Drake just throttled him! I kept asking if anyone else saw that. It was awesome!
I saw it and was like whoa Drake that was friggin impressive.
I think the coaches are trying to figure out the right 53. TIFI
Did it take me that long for me to get snarky again?
Ken, with the roster as currently constituted it’s probably hard enough to get the right 22
Maybe we should line up 22 on one side of the ball it might give us a chance
Ken, no doubt we’re going through growing pains with the roster purge but I do see some positives even though we’re not ready to compete with quality teams. This team has no experience playing together and no prior success to fall back on. It’s all new. That’s why I keep saying the 2020 offseason is going to be huge for us. But before that, I’d like to see more progress throughout this season.
The Purge- the movie?
JBB. Near death is bringing out the smarminess in me
Understood. 😉
Redskins OL looks as bad as our own
If I were Flores, I’d move Davis back to the right side and play Dieter at LT and Chris Reed @ LG.
Why did they give Davis a contract extension?
Because he’s durable and reliable. He’s not a great player but he’s versatile and that’s important on the OL. His contract is middle of the road and he’s needed during this transition. He may not be on the team in two years. Or maybe he becomes the #6/7 flex game day OL in time. I think he gets too much criticism. Not every player on a team is a top talent. No team has that.
The first 3 teams we played are 9-1 and the Ravens gave the Chiefs a game. We all know we’re not on that level. We have to change our mindset from the last 7+ years. We were never on rebuild mold but try to compete and patchwork areas along the way. It never happened. We were mired in mediocrity. Blowing it up isn’t easy though. 😉
Build on the best of what you have and go from there.
Build on the best you have was Tunsil and Minkah. Davis has never been anything more than a ham and egger. But they are paying him like he is a ribeye steak at a run of the mill steakhouse
We may have a chance against the Skins
Toba – Thank goodness I’m 3-0 in my other FF league. You spanked me like Adrian Peterson with a switch!
lol. Yes it was a nice recovery after stanger took down both the missus and myself in back to back weeks
We look a lot better with Rosey back there than Futz.. is it possible he throws a Hard To Catch Ball ??
Our WR were dropping some right in their mitts .. one even get our guy in the face mask
2 major swings yesterday.. Preston TD being stripped away.. and the on side kick being perfectly executed and not counting due to a phantom off side .. don’t get me wrong, there was more mistakes than that which also impacted the score , but those two were turning points
Ken : I think we will hang close and have a shot at a win VS Chargers …
Glad ya got home as well .. hospitals suck , but do serve a valuable service ..🙃
That will require us to play defense
Ken, Davis makes $5M per for 3 years. Tunsil and Minkah have nothing to do with it.
Over $100M in cap next year, three 1’s, two 2’s and potentially two 3’s with a comp pick. We’re building a new team. It’s tough to go through it as a fan in the first year.

How do ya know we wouldn’t have paid “elite LT money” for Tunsil? We got an offer we couldn’t refuse, and executed the trade for two #1s and a #2. And all the while, the whispers were making rounds in the locker room about a mutiny beginning… and we now know it was Minkah who wanted out after we traded Tunsil, along with Kiko.
It’s been reported that the locker room was officially lost after we traded Tunsil, AND that the FO didn’t know how the locker room would react after doing what they did. We got an offer we couldn’t refuse, and THAT is what happened.
Thanks for the recap. LOL

————–
If you can say that with a straight face, you don’t know football. I assume you said that with a HUGE smile on your face!
I don’t understand how some homers could defend Ryan Tannehill for 7 straight years in Miami (uh, different coaches, same team, familiar faces), when Case Keenum has been on 4 teams (new Offense, new players, new concepts) in each of the last 4 seasons… including taking the Vikings to the NFC Championship game in 2017.
Case Keenum is still a starter, and Ryan Tannehill is a mere backup to a mediocre QB.
And YES… that Washington O-Line is nearly as bad as ours!
They listened to people say how stupid they were for 7 years too!
I’m guessing you will have to bare that burden for Case! 😉
M13, stop taking Case Keenum so personally. He’s playing tonight. It’s not about you or anyone else. If you can go with the young QB and see what you have, do it. Lots of QBs with experience are not the answer.
Naples :,it’s not like I’ve been close on any predictions yet this year 😊

This is the kind of shit floating around the internet!
“Miami, FL (AP) – A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Miami courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Miami Dolphins, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.”
That’s not even funny.
That’s a lot of guys playing the whole game.
Linebacker Sam Eguavoen, who played in front of family and friends at AT&T Stadium, was on the field for a team-high 84 snaps — 72 on defense and 12 on special teams. He and Baker were the only two Dolphins players to play all 72 snaps on defense, while CB Eric Rowe played 71 and CB Xavien Howard played 70.
On offense, linemen J’Marcus Webb, Michael Deiter and Daniel Kilgore played all 72 snaps, while wide receivers DeVante Parker and Preston Williams each played 69.
For the first time this season, special teams captain Walt Aikens did not play the most snaps on special teams, that honor going to Chris Lammons. He played 22 special teams snaps, one more than Aikens. Vince Biegel, James Crawford and Patrick Laird were next with 19 special teams snaps.
how is this not a touchdown?
he caught the ball and took 3 steps before the defender dislodged it, should have been challenged.
i wonder if flores didn’t challenge that call purposely wanting to lose?
when he gains control of the ball two feet are touching the ground, then he takes another step still maintaining possession before the ball comes out. he has satisfied A…B..&…..C.
THAT WAS A TOUCHDOWN!
___________________________________________________
A player who makes a catch may advance the ball. A forward pass is complete (by the offense) or intercepted (by the defense) in the field of play, at the sideline, or in the end zone if a player, who is inbounds:
a. secures control of the ball in his hands or arms prior to the ball touching the ground; and
b. touches the ground inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; and
c. after (a) and (b) have been fulfilled, performs any act common to the game (e.g., tuck the ball away, extend it forward, take an additional step, turn upfield, or avoid or ward off an opponent), or he maintains control of the ball long enough to do so.
I agree that the play look d like a TD. Like a posted at the time it happened what is a touchdown anymore!!? If that play had happened on the field of play instead of in the Endzone they would’ve called it a fumble not an incomplete pass. How could it not be a touchdown ?

———————————————–
I would like them to try Webb at LT, Davis at RT and Dieter back at LG. Part of it may be wanting a Webb back at LT, i must admit lol. Seriously though, Davis doesnt have the footwork nor athleticism for LT if Deiter can hold down that spot im happy as any to see him moved there. LG though is also an important position so i hope they have a good plan for filling that. Id prefer that Davis go back to Rg if Deiter stays at LT, and them figure out who they think is best to be at LG out of Calhoun, Idsdora and Reed.
I thought at first same thing about the catch, and i dont think you can challenge something thats already reviewed, or at least it probably isnt going to get you anything, i mean they are already reviewing it. I think the ref’s on situations like that should call TD and then under review reverse it if it doesn’t appear to be. Since they ruled it incomplete, now they have to clearly see that he had possession before it was knocked away, and i really dont know if they had a camera angle that showed that. All plays like that should be called scores, and reversed on review, that needs to be the new rule.
The angles I saw while watching the game showed him have possession with 2 feet down, one after another and then another step and the defender knocked it out after the third step. Couldn’t understand how that wasn’t a TD
Agreed Mike. We got screwed on a bunch of calls in that game.
The phantom off sides on the on side kick especially
We did get screwed on the onside kick call. And the no call on the Hurns hit. That was a clear hit to the head of a defenseless receiver. It’s exactly the play they are trying to get rid of.
It wasn’t review because it wasn’t called a TD on the field (not sure, you might have been trying to say that in your post). Flores would have had to throw the flag for a review, but I personally think that would have been a ‘stands as called’ decision.
Although I didn’t think they’d overturn the TD call last night, so maybe they would overturned ours.
No way they overturn that incomplete into a TD. It was not clear enough. The ball was moving before it was dislodged. And it’s Miami….. we don’t get those calls.
You give us a TD on the Williams play, take away the bad call on the onside kick, Drake doesn’t fumble, Parker and company don’t drop 4 passes in the 1st half, and Sanders hits that first FG, it’s a completely different game.
That is a lot to wrong for a team in one half of play.
(…a lot to go wrong…)
I don’t know why I’m dropping words from all my posts. Looks like I picked the wrong day to START sniffing glue.
????
There is never a wrong day start
Right? I was just trying to explain that to my wife.
You really need to get on that, how can you expect to work your way up to paint, if you dont get your tolerance for glue up.

It’s funny how quickly the narrative has changed to we can’t lose enough! LOL
If this team starts winning games it’s not the end of the world. LMAO
I am enjoying these Mondays where I’m not disappointed
Knowing you are going to lose is the way to go in terms of productivity on a Monday
I won’t be disappointed if we win. Like Piggy said, I’m not disappointed when we lose. I expect it. I we win it will be a pleasant surprise.
^ if we win
If we win Rosen might be the answer and if we don’t then tank for Tua
He might be the answer anyway. It takes more than just the QB to win games
Well true I think Tua is the real deal and I wouldn’t pass on him unless Rosen flat out balls which might
It’s to the point where I don’t know what the rules are anymore. Should Williams have had a TD? No idea! I thought you can’t tackle head to head like the play that got Hurns hurt. I see holds in every game I watch that aren’t called then they call some ticky tack shit. It’s to the point that it is what it is and that’s it.
When I saw the Hurns hit live I thought it was clearly helmet to helmet. When I saw the replay from a camera closer to the LOS, you can clearly see the defender is going to catch the ball and collides with the receiver. Whatever his intent was, the hit itself should have been flagged. The TD calls these days have been confusing forever. If you start in the field of play as a ball carrier you can have the ball knocked out the millisecond you pass the goal line, but if you are a receiver, the rules get ridiculous
Yep!
I guess Tank Carradine is just a body and the team doesn’t really think much of him. He was released again.
I must be in the minority. I thought the Hurns play was just good football. Shit happens.
I always thought that you can’t hit head to head regardless of how it happens. Players are supposed to be cognizant of that. They want to cut down on head injuries yet this play resulted in a player being concussed and knocked out of the game. Hurns caught that ball and the only reason he dropped it at the end was because of a head to head hit that many people are denying ever happened. The announcers went out of their way to say I saw no head to head when it clearly was. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.
I didn’t think it was a head to head really. They just ran into each other. I saw no intent, just both guys at full speed going for the ball.
But to be honest I see much lesser get called almost every game.
Defenders have to be cognizant of that. The Safety had no shot at the ball as we saw, Hurns caught it. That’s why I said I have no idea what the rules are anymore.
Before the rules got sissified it was just good football, but he clearly hit the receivers head, and intent doesn’t come into play. Under the new flag football rules that is a penalty all day every day…unless you’re playing the Dolphins.
^
What do think the ruling would have been if Reshad did that to Edelman? 😉
Castration
Our LB can’t even hit Brady legally without a warning from the ref. Rashad would be castrated and forced to live in exile.
Yeah Piggy
I’ve had no Fins hangover this year. It is a bit refreshing… haven’t wanted to kick a puppy all season.
Phindog is relieved
I also have noticed that since I have absolutely no expectations for the Dolphins this year, I am enjoying watching all the rest of the games a lot more than usual. I am not doing the incessant ‘how does this game affect the Dolphins playoff chances’ thing I do every game all year long, so I’m just kicking back and actually enjoying the football, lol.
I’m really only rooting for the Pets to lose a game and the Browns to implode. Other than that it’s all good.
Once you know that your sports team is rebuilding, you change your mindset of expectations and now it’s about watching young players and progress, not necessarily wins and losses.
Yeah, it’s a strangely freeing experience.
I’ve been through this in baseball and hockey. You don’t want your teams to do this often but sometimes it’s necessary.

I must be in the minority. I thought the Hurns play was just good football. Shit happens.

I agree with this. It was a whack of a hit, but the defender was going for the ball (he has just as much right as the receiver to do so) and the two player collided. It wasn’t a tackle with a hit to the head, it was just two guys both trying to make a play on the ball. Totally legal.
and I think hurns was concussed when his head hit the ground and bounced subsequent to the bang bang hit while going for the ball.
The defender saw Hurns but Hurns did not see the defender. Why were the announcers so quick to say I saw no head to head? It was clearly head to head regardless of intent. I felt like they were doing a Dallas coverup. But that’s why I also said I have no ideas what the rules are anymore.

The most in-depth evaluation on Rosen’s debut you’ll find (still working on the graphic).
This evaluation is pretty much what I saw. I had to keep deleting replies to koolaid drinkers who were getting all wet and tingly down there from his mediocre play.
Well you don’t like Rosen to begin with so there is that. 😉
He is a Dolphin now so I like him. I just didn’t like him coming out of college and was against us wasting a 2nd and 5th round pick on him. Now that he is here I am rooting for him. Perhaps I am more critical than others in my assessment because I never had google eyes for him.
Their face masks hit. He didn’t lead with the crown of his helmet. JMO but it looked like a clean bang bang play to me.
You’re not the only one who thinks that.
You can’t hit helmet to helmet when tackling a defenseless receiver. It doesn’t matter if it’s leading with the crown. But like you said, Heath is clearly going for the ball, so I see the point you are making. Will it not be considered a ‘tackle’ since they were both going for the ball, so helmet to helmet doesn’t matter? Gotta admit, at this point I’m not sure what the rule is.
I guess we’ll find out if it’s legal on Saturday when they hand out fines, lol.
Alright, I’ve watched it fifty times now, and am waffling. I’m not even convinced Heath sees Hurns. He’s looking dead on at the ball.
Googoo eyes not google eyes…. freaking stop auto-incorrecting my typing. (took me 4 times to write auto-incorrecting (5 times LOL)
99 times out of 100 that helmet hit is called a penalty on the field.
What’s funny is very few fans jump ship. They get angry, bitch and moan but they always come back when things are better.
im happy Mark had a discussion , and i respect him, but starting Fitz for 2 games was right?
its impossible that starting Fitz and mismanaging Minkah is the right direction IMO
maybe he meant he left the stadium in the correct lane, lol
exactly what was discussed as being the right direction? its a big secret? i wish Clayton would have expanded more
He’s telling people to shut up and support the Dolphins while they go through this rough patch
The last thing he should do is expand more…wtf
disagree
On Sunday against the Panthers, Kyler Murray threw for 173 yards on 30 completions. According to ESPN Stats & Information, that is the lowest yardage total in a game for a QB with at least 30 completions in the Super Bowl era. Only seven of Murray’s 43 passes traveled beyond 10 air yards. Only one of those was completed.
I am not exactly blown away with Murray. I suspect he won’t pan out
D
So that’s why I said move Davis back to the right side, where he was before Tunsil left.
I think Webb played well at RT and Dieter played well at LT, so leave them there and move Davis back to RG where he has played his best ball.
Then i personally think Reed deserves a shot at LG, since Isidaora has a hurt foot and Calhoun was so-so at best in his first activity all year.
I will be going to the Chargers game this Sunday with a contingent from the SFla Clemson club.
If enough of us buy tix, we get a post-game meet and greet with Wilkins.
I’ll enjoy the game anyway.
Let’s pray for Rivers to pull one of his 3-pick specials that he has every 25 games or so.
That’s really cool. I hope you get to meet him.
I hope you bring the team some good fortune as well.

what are You talking about, Fins are still in the playoff hunt, only down 3 games, lol
yea no playoffs this year, where is Dick Vermeil, playoffs? PLAYOFFS? lol
Jim Mora
god its been so long, maybe i should google it up, lol
vermeil was the one crying, lol
when Tunsil and Minkah were drafted, did the right direction include trading them for picks and tanking 2019?
both Tunsil and Minkah were considered excellent picks, and now both are gone and the Dolphins cant even compete. true we have 3 first rounders next year, does anyone have confidence the Fins will get it right this time? what happens if Miami trades away the 2020 picks in 2021, and tank 2021, to get more picks for 2022? this is like kicking the can down the road,
obviously this strategy destroyed the team, and the season so far.
as far as next year, the strategy of stockpiling picks?,
is worthless if the FO is clueless again
every time the fins get first round picks they get snakebit, Jordan, Harris, Parker, and now Minkah and Tunsil are gone , ALL of those names were top picks, now all of them are gone
exactly why do do we think Miami should nail the 2020 draft, and manage the players properly?
they have not done that in the past, it would be a first
so the Fins toss a season in the garbage, and their future depends on a bunch of fuckups doing their job next year, , what could go right?
correction, Parker and Harris are still there
unfortunately
So keep doing the same old same old? None of us will know how it all pans out until we see what they do. Speculating about what if they fuck it all up is no different than speculating what if they fucking nail it. We didn’t break up a good team so just go with the flow and hope this time we do build a good team.
hopefully the same guys that started Ryan Fitzpatrick and mismanaged Minkah , and traded away first round picks to tank seasons, get everything right this time,
OK
its something they have not been able to do before, good luck,
hope for the right direction in the future, but fork over the money now, the fans got the message

Rockphin says:
Look at the :07-:08 moment. It looks like Hurns can see Heath. He wasn’t defenseless.
You can throw a flag for H 2 H on every play if you take the linemen into account. They are constantly colliding in close quarters and going facemask to facemask / helmet to helmet. Thing is they are linemen so it’s over looked, but those 300lb guys hurtling themselves at each other as fast and hard as they can are banging heads pretty hard. . From the way that play went it looked like Hurns would have been banged up even if Heath hadn’t hit his facemask to facemask. Hurns’ head bounced off the turf
It doesn’t matter if the receiver can see the defender, that isn’t what determines defenseless. Can the receiver defend himself from the coming blow is what determines defenseless, i.e. does he have time to react to the impending contact. Hurns was reaching for the ball and just corralled it when he got hit so he did not have time to protect himself, therefore he was defenseless.
As for the linemen, the rule doesn’t apply to them.
IMO the only way this isn’t a penalty in today’s NFL is if the NFL says since the were both going for the ball it doesn’t constitute a ‘tackle’. And I now do agree with you that they may rule it that way.

I feel that way about that QB from Alabama
Tim, there is no doubt the Fins are loaded as hell with picks and cap space next season, this is one of the Dolphins highest picks in a draft in recent memory, maybe the highest ever.
i can hang and see what happens with that
but what really bothers me is the tanking on purpose crap, i dont believe in it, i think the team should start the best players at their proper positions and do everything they can to win, even if the talent is lacking
Rosen WON the starting position in preseason, but starting Fitz was confirmation the tank was in, IF there was any doubt before
i just dont believe in starting second stringers and playing minkah at LB is trying their best to win, obviously it had horrific results in hindsight, Flores knew what was what, and failed to coach at a level that is even competitive in the NFL
the losing and mismanagement is much more concerning than the 2020 draft IMO
this used to be a proud franchise
the flip side is, even if Rosen started game one, and Minkah stayed at FS, the fins are still 0-3, but the games would have been closer, and the Dolphins would have at least looked like they were trying to win
losing on purpose is what i really dont go for
You thought we were trying to lose on purpose in the Dallas game? Really? We were a fumble away from leading at the half. Did the team tell Sanders to miss the first drive FG, tell Drake to fumble on the 7 yard line, tell the player (?) to purposely go offsides to ruin a well executed onside kick?
no, i think we were trying to lose the first two games starting Ryan Fitzpatrick over Rosen
game three, was much closer with Rosen, until the defense collapsed
Two games with Fitz is trying to tank a 16 game season? We lost to 3 teams who are 9-1 combined and BAL gave KC a very competitive game. Yes the blowouts sucked and I did not expect that but it’s not tanking. Stop! That’s a media created narrative that fans jump on board with. How else do you start over and rebuild without cleaning house? Jimmy Johnson let a lot of our best players go in 1996 but the difference was Marino was still there.
