r is here to help you examine some of the prospects.
Today we are looking at the Running Back position. Like toilet paper, the running back position has a short shelf life but is always in demand, so teams also keep them in bulk.
The value of the running back position is not what it used to be. Before the Goodell/Brady/Peyton era, teams places a lot more value on running backs. But now, we often go a few drafts in a row without a running back taken in the first round.
There is a good chance that a running back is not selected in the first round in 2020. But the Dolphins are one of a handful of teams with multiple picks, so there is a chance the Dolphins take a running back at #26 and het their pick of the liter. If they do that, I can see the pick being D’Andre Swift from Georgia.
Swift is fun to w
atch. He’s a patient runner, who has a 1 cut style of running. On tape, Swift has a lot of productive runs after planting his right foot in the ground, making a cut and turning up filed. His top end speed is not lightning fast, but you wouldn’t know it when you watch him run, because this one cut style puts a lot of early separation between the tacklers and Swift
Swift is a good receiver too. If Swift has any weaknesses it’s ball security and pass protection. But he is a very productive and talented back and worth a late first or an early second round pick.
Don’t worry, there are plenty of other good backs. Like Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor. For most of the season I expected Taylor to be the first back off the board. But it’s starting to look like that isn’t the way it will shape up. That shouldn’t scare anyone. Taylor had a very productive career running behind some very good offensive lines with the Badgers. Taylor had 6,174 rushing yards in three years with 50 touchdowns! If that’s not impressive to you, go back to coveting hand sanitizer.
Taylor has good size coming in at 5’11, 219 pounds. But he actually moves like a smaller back showing the kind if shiftiness that projects well in the NFL. He’s been durable throughout his career even after carry after carry. He really has one glaring weakness: ball security. Taylor has had a few fumbles but he’s also had close to 1000 touches, so make sure you put it in perspective.
Sticking with big numbers in the Big Ten, another productive runner that might be off the board before the 2nd round is through is J.K. Dobbins, who had 2,000 rushing years 
in his final year with Ohio State. Dobbins isn’t as shifty as the two running backs we mentioned on this list. Dobbins is more like a tough lunch pail runner who is going to be consistently productive. He actually kind of reminds me of new Dolphin, Jordan Howard…so if you are thinking “change of pace” he probably won’t do that, but what Dobbins will likely do is have a very good NFL career.
Finally rounding out our top four NFL backs is Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Edwards-Helaire was kind of lost in the shuffle in terms of hype at LSU because of all the attention Joe Burrow received. But Edwards-Helaire was very productive for LSU. In fact he had over 1,800 total offensive yards. 
Some of those yards came through the air as he had 55 catches. He’s easily the best receiving back on this list.
A lot of people think of Edwards-Helaire as a bowling ball stout runner, and at 5’8, 209 pounds, he fits that mold, but really, both Swift and Dobbins aren’t much taller than Edwards-Helaire.
He is more quick than fast, but that quickness goes a long way to breaking a lot of tackles. On tape you can see his toughness on each carrry as he fights for yards. But on paper, what some people miss is that he is one of the best backs on this list in terms of ball security. He just doesn’t fumble a lot.
These are the four backs that are most likely to be selected before round 2 is over. But there are plenty of others backs in this draft, and we will take a closer look at them next time.

Yep, I remember. I wrote him off as JAG early in the season. He developed quickly and had two or three really excellent games, then evened out to a solid CB the rest of the year. He should only get better too.

He had a couple of nice open runs in the 2nd half, but a horrible play on a catch one yard short of the 1st down, ran outside instead of a time 1st down inside, like he could run away from someone. Very pedestrian like RB.

For years, and still to this day, most people bitched about the corruption in our govt, then we get someone who sticks his neck on the line, knowing he’s going to get a backlash, and tries to clean things up and all we hear from the haters is what the left and fake media are telling them.

Everything i have seen and just looking at the data from China, my guess is May is the month we should see light at the end of the tunnel and June should be the month that we start to get close to the source of the light. I feel by end of June this will be pretty under control.
Like i said above though, it really depends on people doing what the fuck they are being told. You cant ignore the governments notifications and then fucking call out government officials for the cause of it.

In general there is a palpable desperation to get Trump out of office and when you’re desperate, you will do anything and everything above and below the belt to make sure you accomplish what is making you so desperate. I think it’s pretty clear from what we’ve seen from the left and Democrats that this is the case. If I had to picture what the President of the US would be, Trump doesn’t hit on may of the points I would expect a President to be. He in some ways acts like we do right here, which is unbecoming for a President. His media and social media interactions are beyond bizarre, but I think the same way the Dems and left and liberal media are desperate to dispose of Trump, he uses social media to defend himself and get his message out. It looks childish and immature, because it is, but that’s his defense against the constant attacking he receives.
Our media is almost completely one-sided and has been for decades. It went from an institution which was supposed to inform us of news to a political arm of the DNP. We can’t escape it anywhere because our sports media is just as bad. PBS, all through our TV, everywhere. I don’t blame Trump for his tactics. He isn’t allowed the same defenses his opponents enjoy.

I think part of the disparity right now in states is exposure and population density. But generally I agree, states handle it differently. I think that’s a problem though in a global pandemic. A uniform approach, even if they are just guidelines, may be better. There are 10th amendment limitations to that, but there are also federal emergency powers that override those concerns.
Aside from that, I completely agree that people need to take it more seriously. A lot of that is our of the Federal, State or City’s hands. Some of it is just individual responsibility.

There’s no question the population density in NYC has been an issue, but even so you can’t say Cuomo has done a good job.

Again, I don’t blame Trump for the way its spread based on the information I know. I do think he was slow to take it seriously and a lot of people follow his lead. I think his priority was the stock market instead of public health. I think most of his daily press conference don;t offer much. But I think the spread in densly populated areas was inevitable.
Cuomo said he made a mistake in shutting everything down. But isn’t that what he was supposed to do? Very confusing. He also was very slow to take this seriously. I see an almost exact mirror with how these men responded except Trump was trying to prevent flights from China and Cuomo didn’t or possibly couldn’t? I know Trump has higher responsibilities and maybe better information but I don;t really see a difference in how they responded…just in how it was received.

A governor can’t shut down flights bc its federal jurisdiction. Likewise, I’m not sure the 10th amendment would permit the president shutting down schools. But I doubt anyone would have challenged that – still I don’t expect Trump to take that action either, that is for governors to do.

Biden, i personally feel shows signs of early dementia and i think if not for lack of other better candidates the democrats would not be supporting him. It’s not a word you see used a lot and I’d guess most people don’t know the meaning, but it suddenly became the word du jour in the last 24 hours. Saying someone is being cavalier is typically casting a negative light on someone’s attitude towards something. It’s a mild rebuke, but still not a positive thing, so that’s why the joke, etc.
Its wierd, and this is a lot of the reason text doesnt come across just like ya always want it to, but to me its more cautionary, not a rebuke. I dont tend to case many judgements, as much as i like to make people think about what they have said. If someone told me i was being cavalier i honest would immediately start looking at what i said to see if i could see their point. I dont at all take that word as a rebuke, either that or i see getting rebuked a whole lot less offensive than other do. I certainly see what ya mean though and i see the joke too lol, i just didnt put two and two together until just now.
It’s semantics so of course yours is a valid interpretation of usage too. Obviously, it’s all contextual.
When I’m being cavalier, it’s usually obnoxiously so, lol. For me, someone with a cavalier attitude by definition doesn’t care, so it’s always had a negative connotation in my mind. But it can easily be used as a cautionary, or a way of pointing out with intent to correct as well. Cheers 🙂

I think a particular coach or system a college may run can play a part in how a player is developed and used. But, you have to look past that when evaluating a guy for how you might use him. You can evaluate arm talent, intelligence, leadership, poise and whatever despite the system or coaching. It is part of the evaluation, of course, but you can still get a feel for a guy’s skills….especially these days with all the workouts and videos that are out there. Watching game film is just a part of it now. Were they developed the right way no matter where they went to college? Were they coached to be responsible and consistent with preparation and reliable?

Saban, as strange as he is in some ways, is a damn good coach. Alabama recruits guys who are Flores type guys…and yes has his pick usually…and Saban teaches them how to win. I have no problem taking guys from his program. But, he has, historically, not run a high scoring, high risk offense….because he almost always has a really good defense….sound familiar? If you start for him and are a leader of the team, you’ve usually earned it. I feel the same way about players from Iowa. Ferentz is a great coach but from that same tree/philosophy. I love that a player might come from a great coach, but I still may not like the player for my team.

Lakewood which is just about 15 minutes from me has been notorious for arrests for large gatherings. Thats what i have been saying. they didn’t get all those picks to hoard them, they got all those pick to make their move. This year i think for sure, they will take a shot at a QB trading up to do so if they have to to get them. I dont think they would think twice to give up all three first to move up to 1 and get that guy.and while i am kinda a hoarder myself, i get it, thats the whole reason we are where we are with the number of picks we have. We set ourselves to start this process this year and to start the process with a new QB of the future, and we added space to give us extra picks next year to be able to add more around him. I completely think that the actions im seeing from our team, and again, it makes total sense, just have to be open to the idea to see it,

This is just what I’ve read from a couple of sources, and I saw on a news broadcast, but I don’t know this for actual fact, so take it for what it’s worth. The covid creates respiratory issues and some symptoms similar to allergies, such as loss of taste, coughing, sore throat, etc, as well as fever, but it doesn’t create the nasal congestion, sneezing etc.
So if you have a stuffy nose, along with those other symptoms, it could be allergies. But in all honesty, who’s to say? Maybe you have both, so I don’t actually know how much it helps knowing covid doesn’t cause sneezing, lol.
