Draft Day 2020, and Day 1 is in the books! Definitely some surprise picks, and one pick a big surprise due to the position it was at. I have felt for some time that if our FO and coaches were satisfied with the medicals on QB Tua Tagovailoa that we would be hearing his name for our team. The great part is, we didn’t have to trade up, we just sat quietly at #5 and made the pick.
With our 2nd pick, I honestly did not have Austin Jackson as my top choice at that point. I was well aware of his story and I think he’s a great kid, he’s only 20 years old. I had Andrew Thomas, Jedrick Wills, Tristan Wirfs, Mekhi Becton and Josh Jones all ranked ahead of Austin Jackson. That doesn’t mean anything at all though, less than nothing actually. Jackson is a high quality character man, of this there is no question. He’s also very talented, and he can likely play either side, LT or RT. He has very good feet and moves well and is an excellent athletic prospect. He just needs help with technique. I think the biggest reason I wasn’t looking at him is because I’m not sure how much of an immediate impact he can make. I felt the other players could step in ASAP and play well enough from day 1.
Our 3rd and final pick of the day I did not see coming. Never had him on the radar. Noah Igbinoghene is a fine DB prospect, although he has only 2 years of experience on defense because he converted to a DB from WR. His bloodlines are strong with 2 Olympic athletes as parents. He can play outside at corner, he can play inside in the slot and has played a little safety too. With the players we currently have on the roster in the secondary, he gives us a lot of matchup versatility. Now I have to practice saying his name! IG-bin-OG-A-nee Like Mahogany but with an Igbin instead of the Maho.
So now comes Day 2, and we still haven’t addressed a few positions that I feel we need to. I was crushed when Cesar Ruiz went to the Saints at #24, two picks before our pick. It’s totally possible that Igbinoghene would still have been the pick, so maybe I should take solace in that. In any case, center is a position of need, and the next best player is Lloyd Cushenberry. At RB, Clyde Edwards-Helaire is off the board to the SB Champion Chiefs, leaving less than a handful of top RB prospects. D’Andre Swift is the best, followed by Jonathan Taylor, J.K. Dobbins and Cam Akers. After that, I think you’re looking more at complimentary players, not guys that can be your primary back. Jordan Howard is already coming off an injury, we need to find someone who can be a feature back if need be.
I’m hoping that taking DB Noah Igbinoghene stifles our need for secondary help. I don’t want another pick on a safety, let’s get some pass rushers and defensive tackle help. As D pointed in our draft article, there quite a few guys who should be available to us in RD 2-5, DE Jonathan Greenard (RD 2), DE Jabari Zuniga (RD 4), DT Marlon Davidson (RD 4) DT Nick Coe (RD 4). We need to get some interior DL filler and some pass rushers.
Here’s hoping we can ALL be happy with Day 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft!
WTF, but that piece of shit we had last year…
At least we know this guy has a good chance to make it.
Well, that’s quite the page turn post.
Here is his highlight video
Lol
You are funny Pig. I would like to see vid of him making tackles on returns.
Pig you’re killin me. I can’t see to post eyes watering 😂
ROTFLMFAO
LMFAO
Blake and his brother Reid have held down the starting deep snapper job for the Tigers for the past eight seasons. Reid was a four-year snapper before moving on to the Buffalo Bills after the 2015 season. Blake redshirted that year (after being named top high school snapper in the country as a junior and senior at Buford High School in Georgia) and has been a reliable special teams ace ever since. He was a team captain in 2018 and 2019. Ferguson is a Type I diabetic and has worked with various charities to raise awareness for the condition.
Grier is crushing it!
He ran a 5.07 at the combine
So there’s that….
246 is all that’s left. Our draft is done. 🙂
251 comp still shows as ours too
Lance Zierlein: “One of the top long-snappers in the country, Ferguson has a great shot at following his brother into the pros. His snap accuracy on punts was a little down from 2018, but it’s not something that will kill his chances. He’s the likely leader in the clubhouse as the long-snapper most likely to be drafted (and make a team long-term) this season.”
He’s probably going to play for us for 2 decades though
I thought we had 3 7’s and traded one of them away?
I thought so too
Hopefully we punt as often as LSU did
BLAKE FERGUSON LSU LS
He was a team captain in 2018 and 2019. Ferguson is a Type I diabetic and has worked with various charities to raise awareness for the condition.
Overview
One of the top long-snappers in the country, Ferguson has a great shot at following his brother into the pros. His snap accuracy on punts was a little down from 2018, but it’s not something that will kill his chances. He’s the likely leader in the clubhouse as the long-snapper most likely to be drafted (and make a team long-term) this season.
There goes Peoples-Jones
Lance Zierlein — is our new long-snapper. Just hope he is as good as Denney, who never made a mistake and still manged to get down field in coverage. Few of them can do that.
Lance is the analyst Blake Ferguson is the LS
None of us will know the difference anyway
Cool enough — Blake it is. Hope I only see his number in replays when he tackles someone.
We have 246 and 251 left
So we do have 2 picks left
Let’s Go Blankenship K, Ga
Cooper Rothe Wyoming K
Update?
100% complete. Restart now.
The Pats and Bills have taken their kickers. We better go get one! 😉
A LS over a WR like Peoples-Jones or RB Benjamin? I guess that is the patriot way
At this stage, I’m not sure the difference between the UDFA and draft picks is huge
The competition for the top specialists will be high as opposed to skill players
So it kind of makes sense to draft a long snapper now
Sent the LS video to my Chargers friend, he laughed, but is bustin my balls now.
I hope the Pats are in QB hell for the next at least 20 years now
Me too
Karma!
It’s sucked for us!!!!!!!!!!!!
The jests had a good draft but honestly they stunk it up in free agency
And still have Gase
Homer
He’s actually really good!
Jerry Jones “personal assistant” is helping him with technology
Jerry wants to know what button to push to pop her buttons. lol
Denney was replaced last year. He’s no longer in the league.
At least he came from Long Snapper U (LSU) 😂
Tooo funny
LSU
Long Snapper University
LOL
HOFINS🐬💯
Blake will want to beat Buffalo really bad!
Family bragging rights! 😉
I’m stoked !!!!! (After watching Blake Ferguson’s highlight video)
That’s because who couldn’t stop looking at his ass😘
Yup!
LOL 🙂
246, only 47 more picks.
There is this!
Of course that’s probably 1-200 odds annually?
What a stupid stat, who comes up with this shit? Oh wait, U75.
I think it’s funny that Goodell is in his every day clothes, while Wingo is suited up.
Wouldn’t mind getting Thaddeus Moss in the 7th or UDFA if he makes it
Man, they are like 12 or 13 picks behind now
Lol that guy knocked the guy down, helped him up and then al.ost knocked him down again lol
I was laughing at that too
He was like bam, oh, hey are you alright? ok, Bam
Lol I know. He fucking uprooted that dude I think it scared him he thought he killed the guy. Oh wait play is still going on, get back down.
Uhg, I just thought about having to listen to Mondoh and Dohmar talk about how Tua should be playing all this year.
O look at what they say, more Mando than Omar, but I hardly listen to them. Like background noise I can pay attention to when there is something worth pay attention to
WTF happen with Prince Tega. I mean he was never a top guy for me, I wasn’t as high on him as most but this is kinda rediculous at this point
I was thinking late 3rd to 5th round.
I was leaning to third, but it’s 7th now, pretty much and he is still there
I wonder if Tampa will fined for Brady’s inappropriate contact with coaches this offseason?
Is it me or does round 6 seem like it is taking fucking forever?
it’s no you
That looks like an interesting series to watch. Anyone watching it already?
Looks like Tega just went off the board
Jake Hanson gone
so do we have pick 227 or not?
No
246, 251
WELL get ready for all the experts’ grades of team “A’s” draft or team “B’s” draft. Yes, a clear majority of the teams will get something like an “A” or “B+” when, in reality, about half of the teams will discover that most of their picks were absolute flops!!!
I tell ya it’s just GREAT that these “experts” can project all these picks weeks before ANY of these guys participate in their first NFL camp!!
Now THAT is what I call “FAKE NEWS!!”
Exactly!!! LOL
It’s all about team results, not draft grades.
There goes Kamren Curl.
Oh no!!! LOL
I agree OD these pundits don’t know shit. I saw someone gave us a D+ for Raekwon Davis. Here’s a guy who competed at the absolute highest level in college as a starter on one of the very best teams but his draft grade is a notch above a failure when we take him in the third round.
2nd round #56.
Thanks but still fuck them D+. Kiss my ass
LOL
I’m a Raekwon Davis fan, mentioned him as a potential pick for us prior to the draft and called it at #56 between him and A. J. Epenesa who went two picks earlier. 🙂
There goes ENOOOOOOOOOOO
LOL
oh well
At the moment we got Breida, we no longer needed Eno.
I still think we should give TE Hunter Bryant a try.
Lookout Ryan Tannehill.
Titans just got Cole MacDonald who threw for like 12,000 yards this year.
It was in Hawaii though, so n/m
Perfect situation for Cole McDonald. Kid has some potential. Needs a little work on his mechanics.
We took Phillips in the second and he was some great steal we got. We get Davis, who to me looks like a better player, in the second and he gets a D+.
This was a tough draft to predict but they really did the right thing for the success of the team. It’s in Coach’s hands now. Well that and Corona.
Social Distance people we must preserve football season.
Both needed a fire lit under their asses when they come out of college,
but I think Flores can light better fires
and Raekwon Davis apears to not suffer the babyfat problem Phillips had.
I think Davis pairs well with Wilkins. Nothing is coming easy from Godchaux either. You win that job Davis and we know you mean business.
And WTF is a D+ anyway. You pretty much suck but in a good way? LOL
It’s a grade a pussy who never played gives
Son — I know dit about grading players till watch them every week. But I do know that they filled out the roster real well. Also notice a long of big on potential and maybe not as polished guys. They weren’t drafting for just the 2020 season.
That’s why I’m loving this draft so much now. They laid out what appears to be the makings of a very solid foundation.
Including last year draft especially Wilkins.
Cole McDonald would have been a good backup candidate for us. I think Tenn is a good spot for him too
Let the Long Snapper competition begin!
This pisses me off, actually.
John Denny was great, and there was no need I can think of to have replaced him.
OK so he had a great career,
and maybe he was aging in ways the coaches saw in close-ups.
It’s sad though to pit two friends against each other when there is no chance for both to make the team, not like 2 linebackers.
What did Taybor do badly last year?
It’s exciting to see how we addressed every team need between FA and the draft. We don’t know if the players we picked up will all be the answers at their respective positions, but we brought in new blood every place we needed it.
If Flores can avoid a sophomore slump, I don’t see any reason we can’t compete for a playoff spot this season, especially with the added WC.
Lack of time together will probably be the biggest hurdle. I don’t think there’s going to be a problem getting the locker room charged.
“It’s a grade a pussy who never played gives.”
This is not only funny, it’s spot-on.
Props to Son.
^
Dallas just drafted their next Tony Romo
It’s competition Naples. I bet Taylor spends the rest of today doing sit-ups instead of playing Madden.
We brought in some big mean bastards though didn’t we? I love it.
Big ugly!
They certainly are both lol
Is there any lefty QB out there?
I’m very pleased with almost all of these draft picks, trades, and FA signings.
Yeah that runningback was a good add. Veteran backfield while the line gets settled.
Son, I can’t think of any but there is a strong arm fast mobile QB in Steven Montez from Colorado left.
I’m just thinking to get another lefty in camp so everyone sees more lefty balls
I bet Randy Moss is shocked his son has not been drafted yet.
Or maybe he could tell, since he knows what NFL talent looks like.
Anyway, I’m surprised.
Is Thaddeus too spoiled for us to draft?
That’s another QB I thought the Pats might yake
Take
Fun is just about to start with the UDFA period. Don’t think we will bring in as many this year with all the picks we had
We’ll only have 6 or spots left
Zach Shackelford Texas C/OG / Williams Old Miss
Jared Pinkney Vanderbilt TE / Bryant Washington
A Navy man
Malcolm Perry
He’s a triple threat QB
They showed him as WR and it threw me off. He was fun to watch with Navy. That’s a real interesting addition.
Here comes the next version of the Wildcat. 🙂
Malcolm Perry!!!
Did we just draft Crash Jensen ??????
He’ is my all time favorite player!!!!!!
I wonder if we’ve asked when his service is up?
Or if they gave him the athletic “delay” to play and the serve the remaining??????????
No he’s eligible I might be wrong but he is somehow able to play football. I heard something during one of his games.
We traded then pick…lol
That’s all I could do was laugh!
What happened at 251?
Guess we’re done!
I think our own 6th next year went in the Tunsil deal. So good.
I would’ve done that with the other 7th too. I was hoping that’s what happened with the trade.
Now, remember this, we want Seattle to lose all their games this year😁
Another Jakeem Grant but more of a RB as well. Another Julian Edelman?
There ya go Son
4.63, put him in the slot, but he’s quick and shifty and a good trick play guy.
Wonder, if Wilson hasn’t fully recovered yet, he wasn’t explosive in 2019, like he was before?
Here we go
Who did we get from Seattle?
2021 6th
6th next year
A 2021 6th round pick
It had to be a player trade
Oh ok
Benito Jones dt ole miss
Jr Reed to Jax
Thaddeus Moss hell yeah
Nm on Moss wasn’t real. Donnell Stanley is though
Did we sign them?
Stanley OC/OG South Carolina
2 signed
frickin Seattle took the TE I wanted with that pick we swapped to them.
Converted WR who outgrew the position into a very fast TE.
oh well.
Benito Jones DT Ole Miss
Donnell Stanley OC/OG South Carolina
Lol Pete prisco has given us C+ or lower grades on almost all of our picks
Malcom Perry is an explosive weapon !! Glad we got him 😎👍🥃🥃
Yeah that’s a cool pick
Seattle got your QB BBM
Tyshun Render DE Middle State
Benito Jones DT Ole Miss
Donnell Stanley OC/OG South Carolina
I don’t follow this line some of you, in fact I get most of my player evaluations and draft info on here, but I like the draft position wise. QB, DBs, trenches, and most importantly a long snapper for Rock.
Congrats OD, we finally spent pics on the OL.
At least we got one player I have been on the bandwagon all the way back onto.the college season
Benito Jones DT Ole Miss
Donnell Stanley OC/OG South Carolina
Tyshun Render DE Middle State
Nick Kaltmayer OT Kansas State
So we have
1a
1b
2b
2c
3
4
5
6a
6b
7
Next year
If this OL, DL and Secondary works out
Think about the quality skill position players we can add next season
No doubt 🐕
I love how it went overall……………… TRUST THE PLAN !!!!!
GO COACH FLO…….GO FRONT OFFICE ………. GO MIAMI 🙂
D, who was my QB? The gunslinger with shitty foot work? Gordon, LOL
Yes
D, anyone sign QB Steven Montez yet?
Not that I see so far
Spoke too soon. Redskins
Bryce Sterk DE Montana State
Benito Jones DT Ole Miss
Donnell Stanley OC/OG South Carolina
Tyshun Render DE Middle State
Nick Kaltmayer OT Kansas State
Bryce Sterk DE Montana State
Stanley might can make it as a backup OC
Moss and Montez signed with Washington
It’ll be tough this year for UDFAs to make our team this year, too many draft picks rgar have the upper hand.
I could see Benito Jones making it
Stanley might make it as a backup OC
We need the Tim depth chart to see how we did.
LOL
It’s coming. 😉
I think Perry could make Wilson expendable
I watched him a lot and he just makes big plays every time he touches the ball. The kid is special and a big playmaker.
I was going to post that earlier, but I think Wilson was healed last year, he should be much better this year. He’s a big weapon, if he’s back to form. I think they may have cut him already, if they were going to.
Offense – 25
RB – Howard, Breida, Perry, cox
QB – Fitz, Tua, Rosen
WR – Parker, Williams, Wilson, Hurns, Ford, Grant
TE – Gesicki, Smythe, Myarick
OL – Jackson, Flowers, Karras, Kindley, Hunt, Deiter, Davis, Isidora, Calhoun
Defense – 25
DL – Ogbah, Lawson, Wilkins, Godchaux, Davis, Weaver, Strowbridge, Sieler
LB – Baker, McMillan, Van Noy, Biegel, Grugier-Hill, Roberts, Van Ginkel, Eguavoen
DB – Jones, Howard, Jones, Rowe, McCain, Igbinoghene, Fedejelem, Needham, Parker?
ST
Sanders, Haack, Ferguson
Includes all draft picks 10 FAs and Breida. I can see all 22 of these new comers making it. A few frindge guys like Taco or some DBs might push some guys out, but not too many.
Where is the wide receiver/qb we drafted?
Perry I put him with the RBs, because I hate the ones we had on the roster.
Malcom Perry doesn’t live up to NFL standards physically but he’s a really good football player. Think Wayne Chrebet. Over-achiever that has to prove themselves everyday.
We drafted some beef on that offense line
Cap hits based on 2019 guys from same selection # + 5%.
Tua – 5.6 – adds 4.8 to cap
Jackson – 2.46 – adds 1.7 to cap
Igbinoghene – 2 adds 1.25 to cap
Hunt – 1.4 – adds 650K to cap
Davis – 954K – adds 204K to cap
Jones – 800K – adds 50K to cap
These guys don’t count now against the cap, because they don’t qualify for top 51
Kindley – 718K
Strowbridge – 556K
Weaver – 556K
Ferguson – 556K
Malcolm – 556K
8.65M is roughly our net rookie cap hit. This is just an estimate, with Tua being a QB his number may be slightly higher, and I believe the raise per year is 5% it may be 10% which wouldn’t significantly raise the number more than 500K – 1M. Also this is only for the current top 51, so 2 more guys will be added to the cap, but if all the rookies make it those bottom 5 will lower the cap a little over 800K.
Glad to be back at the camper enjoying a campfire tonight reading about the draft.
FU Covid!!
Someone that talks to the media via social please send my net rookie cap to them and tell them what I said, they’re all U75s.
Curtis Weaver is the wild card. Edge guys on the bubble be on notice.
I’ve got him penciled way in already.
Gaskins, balage& laird are good rbs hard for me to think they will all be gone , howard& brieda are locks
Laird once in a while will run over a little guy, but mostly the opponents front 7 kick his ass. He’s got no speed, no moves and no power. He’ll catch the ball a little, but he’s not an NFL back, Gaskin is too small and has some of the same issues. Ballage has some tools, but his vision is so bad. Enough already with these losers.
Need to do something with josh Rosen, I don’t think you will be good for him to take up a roster spot, or maybe Fitzpatrick goes?
Again, look at the picks we made, our FO isn’t selling out to make the playoffs this year, so leave Rosen on the team, basically waiting for Fitz to be done Tua taking over and Rosen the backup.
I’m sure there will be a push to get tua to start
Relax, if Tua is ready we’ll all know, no reason to rush him. For sure Fitz will have one of those typical 3 or 4 int games and they may put him in then. Also if we start slow again you might see an all out release of Fitz or just a benching.
It seems every time we need to ease into a season we get brutal first few games, like last year, and 4 years ago at Seattle at NE. I expect it again this year. Opener at home vs NE or SF or KC.
Malcolm Perry could be our Edelman.
Perry doesn’t have that same short burst quickness Edelman has that allows him to get separation, but he definitely has nice agility and wiggle. If he’s 70% of Edelman that would be good enough
I am glad the NFL is not releasing the schedule until early May, gives us fans another milestone to look forward to in our sports starved world
Bookman did ya pack all yer weekend clothes in yer Mug ??
Glad ya have a happy place to get away to
Lmao! No, I didn’t need THAT many clothes. I hope you are doing well in the Great White North.
I’m curious to see how many prime time games we get. I would expect the schedule makers to believe that Tua won’t be starting in the beginning of the season, and that would be simply precautionary. I’d like to say that we give him a full year of not playing but I really can’t say that with any certainty. Despite the fact that I think we really improved our club in the trenches significantly, I won’t be surprised if we get snubbed for prime time this season.
I hope none.
Me too, I prefer early games on Sunday.
Watched rerun of Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Brady and Krapp and crew in the 3rd row. Is this how they’ve been able to pay him half his value? In college it would be an NCAA violation.
Huh? You don’t think Brady could afford his own ticket? If you and your friends went to a game would you think people would assume the richest guy there paid for everyone else to go?
Would you hang out with the owner of your company, if he wasn’t paying? You k iw how the other half lives.
I wouldn’t hang out with him just for the price of a ticket I can afford myself. I would pay for my own ticket and hang out with him if I thought he could get me things to advance my Career and build a brand. Nothing to see here, is my opinion
DT Benito Jones, who signed with us an UDFA was the 7th ranked DT on NFL.com. Isn’t that odd? I wonder what the reason is
Bookman thanx yes, doing alright. I still go to work, wife is working from home going stir crazy … for the most part we need something we go get it .. she likes to have plans and events to look forward to , and those are either cancelled or on hold , so she’s not taking it well.. I find tooo many events on my calendar piss me off so I’m doing okay fine 🤡
Good to know you and the Mrs are doing OK. I get to work during this because we make essential products. It does get old with things getting canceled, especially when we just get to Spring…..those of us who hibernate anyway during the Winter, really need the Spring, and normality, but I guess we just have to make the best of it
Watching Ballers, even those idiots call it the underwear Olympics.
I mean who came up with that retarded name? Shouldn’t it be called the NFL Olympics or the Underwear NFL? The combine mostly resembles track and field from the Olympics, and in track and field they wear similar clothes like they do at the combine, so by saying Underwear Olympics makes no sense.
I think you over think things too much at times.
Probably
Didn’t call ch this during the draft but this is at Jacob Easons house lol, live via draft.
Good for you older brother!
Miami Dolphins
Draft picks: Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa (No. 5 overall), USC OT Austin Jackson (No. 18), Auburn CB Noah Igbinoghene (No. 30), Louisiana OT Robert Hunt (No. 39), Alabama DT Raekwon Davis (No. 56), Texas S Brandon Jones (No. 70), Georgia OG Solomon Kindley (No. 111), North Carolina DE Jason Strowbridge (No. 154), Boise State DE Curtis Weaver (No. 164), LSU LS Blake Ferguson (No. 185), Navy RB Malcolm Perry (No. 246)
Day 1 grade: A
Day 2 grade: B
Day 3 grade: B
Overall grade: A-
Draft analysis: Miami needed a franchise quarterback and offensive line help coming into the draft — and they got both within the first 18 picks on Day 1. Add in a starting safety and run-stopper, and the Dolphins acquitted themselves well over the first three rounds.
Kindley is power incarnate but also has some mobility for his size (6-6, 337 pounds) — not unlike the guard they signed to a big free agent deal, Ereck Flowers. Strowbridge strengthens the outside of the defensive line. Trading a fifth-round pick for 49ers running back Matt Breida may turn out to be a really good move if the tough runner can stay healthy. Perry has the work ethic and athleticism to succeed in the backfield, as well. Weaver has always had the potential to be one of the best edge rushers in this draft class — if he takes care of business, watch him power past tackles to consistently get after quarterbacks.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001111711/article/2020-nfl-draft-final-quicksnap-grades-for-all-32-teams
That’s for you Tim
I know how you love draft grades! 😉
Nate Davis, whoever the hell that is, at USA Today gave us a C. He couldn’t explain it and he described how loved some of our picks but nevertheless a C, lol.
The big criticism I read is the Austin Jackson pick bc it’s a “reach”
Some on in Vrabel House was caught on the toilet
An you see it on the pic?
Taking a Tannehill
Who goes to the bathroom with the door open?
WHEN YOUR HOUSE IS GOING ON TV?
His whole family is there….it has to be a set up
I gave the draft a b+ maybe even down to a b-.
I think I will like Noah’s career, but we should’ve taken swift or helaine with that pick.
And the LS pick was atrocious.
Also nearly every pick has an asterisk for injury or lack of experience or unrealized potential or whatever, especially Tua,
So that and not taking a TE bring it down from an A.
I agree with everything you just said
Only thing I can figure is they didn’t like those RBs culturally. As longterm Fins.
Anyway
They have draft capital to get superstar skills players @WR and RB next year, with Jordan Howard and Breida easily dispensable then.
Why do they call it ‘taking’ a dump instead of ‘leaving’ a dump because you’re not taking anything anywhere.
Aiight Mr. Carlin.
I really hope they have a plan for that gadget kid in the 7th.
I would love to see some Slash and Crash plays.
Your first look at the new OL via madden on PlayStation…lol
way cool
In case you are wondering
That’s two first rounders
One second rounder
One fourth
And one 6th
could end up being a third for that 6th if Dieter is in for Karras at Center right?
Since we have some of these players here now …
The Clemson 2018 defense might go down in history as the best college defense ever assembled, based on drafting ratings at least.
The Alabama offense that Clemson’s defense listed below held to 16 points will end up with 9 first rounders.
LS grade F. Guess they didn’t see how bad the guy we had last year was. Let’s ask Sanders what he thinks of the pick.
Should’ve never let Denny go.
Even Brady can’t play forever.
I’d like to see the 3 rookies + the 2 FAs start day 1 on the OL. We know a couple of them are really good run maulers, so if nothing else our run game will be better, and in the passing game it can’t be any worse than last year. Fitz can manage, if the pass blocking breaks down. Get this line seasoned for Tua.
yep I do believe that’s the plan.
How many games before Tua steps in?
16 I hope, otherwise 2020 will be another waisted season. If he comes in early, that likely means Fitz is who he has been in the past, one good year followed by a mulligan season.
Or Tua pulls a Russell Wilson and starts game one, but I don’t see that happening, if nothing else because of his previous injuries.

Even Brady can’t play forever.
>>>>
You have no proof of this.
Just watched Austin Jackson vs Iowa, Epenesa had 2 1/2 sacks, but Jackson looked good against him the entire game. First sack he got fooled, Epenesa cut inside straight to the QB. Second sack was a 3 step drop QB didn’t throw it quick, Epenesa reached out and knocked the ball out of QBs hand. The half sack was in garbage time, the pass rush flushed the QB right into Epenesa who was the only guy on the play that was being blocked.
Jackson has good feet, has the strength to stop the bull rush, but could use some fine tuning. He’ll be fine on our left side, but not great.
Naples, RB Tavien Feaster signed with the Jags as an UDFA. Jags also signed UDFA RB James Robinson the 5’9 219 bowling ball I was hoping we would sign.
Feaster has a lot of talent.
I was sorry to sse him transfer away from Clemson, and I think it hurt both him and us.
Michel and Chubb played together at Georgia and then went to the pros.
i think RB is different than QB. I don’t think a guy is forced to transfer like that.
One RB in college or the pros usually doesn’t need to get 75 % or more of the carries, unless your team is gonna lose otherwise,
like especially if it’s the playoffs or something.
Damn, Rams signed UDFA RB Xavier Jones. He was another I hoped we would have signed.
NFL.com is fucked up. This is they listed as our UDFA:
Miami Dolphins
WR Kirk Merritt
WR Matt Cole
WR Preston Williams
TE Bryce Sterk
OL Donnell Stanley
OL Nick Kaltmayer
DT Benito Jones
DL Ray Lima
DE Tyshun Render
CB Nik Needham
Williams and Needham were last year. Idiots!
They didn’t do a real good purge job.
Son, I had forgotten about RB Tony Jones, ND. He signed as UDFA with Saints.
Damn, Edge Bryce Huff went to Jets as UDFA.
I see why we took Igbinoghene in the 1st, he’s is a very good cover corner. He’s not real motivated to tackle, but he can, when it’s his man. He gets right on his man at the LOS and doesn’t give much separation. He has good instincts in zone coverage, and the quickness/speed to close.
Putting him in the slot will work, but his strength is outside man. He actually might be really good in the slot, because he plays so tight you may not see a lot of free checkdown throws his way.
Our secondary is going to be insane. It should make the front 7 look much better than they really are.
We didn’t want to sign these guys, that became UDFAs, in the 7th, why all of the talk about getting them? These guys have about a 2% chance to make it.
Camp bodies. Also, Preston Williams and Nik Needham were UDFA’s last year. Like someone said yesterday, there are 17 UDFA’s in the HOF.
We also still have, TE Myarick, OG Calhoun, LB Terrill Hanks, and S Hartage. That’s 6 UDFA’s from last years crop that made the team either on 53 or PS. Now, with our F/A additions and draft this year we will be saying bye to half of them probably.
QB’s Blake Barnett, USF and Mason Fine, North TX are still unsigned. Mason Fine is shorter than Brees.
Brian Lewerke, MSU, also but was not to crazy about him.
BOOKMAN—-Thanks for the kind words. But I’m so sorry it took this franchise 11 seasons before they made a commitment to produce a top quality Offensive Line. How good COULD Tannehill have been behind a decent O-Line?? We’ll never know for sure. BUT, his performance last season with the Titans strongly suggests that Miami could have been a legitimate playoff contender for most of the years he was here. And that big GOOSE EGG the franchise has for playoff wins the last 19 seasons would have been erased a long time ago. Steve Ross WASTED AN ENTIRE DECADE NEEDLESSLY. Thank goodness he’s finally seen the light!
———————————–
YOUNG STANGER—-So it seemed to you I was making Miami’s draft picks from my living room chair?? Well, not exactly. But I AM GENUINELY PLEASED at the direction this franchise has taken under Flores’ leadership. ROSS was very wise to chose Flores after a string of failed Dolphin head coaches. THIS TIME, ROSS GOT IT RIGHT!! –BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!
———————————-
Let the run to the playoffs begin!! – – GO FINS!!
2 OTs in the first 39 picks and then a trade up for a G to boot….. yeah was thinking you had hacked the Dolphin’s draft system. 🙂
And “ROSS was very wise to chose Flores “…… talk about the burning bush of a new era!
RB Reggie Corbin, Illinois, still unsigned.
RB Rodney Smith, Minn still has not signed with anyone.
We might be out of spots by now on the 90
I liked Ledbetter, too bad he got hurt and ultimately released. At least we made up for him between FA and the draft.
Dang, toughest little dude in college football is still unsigned 5’5″ AZ RB JJ Taylor.
TE’s Luke Farrell, Ohio State, Cheyenne O’Grady, Arkansas, Joey Magnifico, Memphis and Mitchell Wilcox, South Florida still unsigned.
OT Trey Adams still unsigned.
C Zach Shackelford, Texas still unsigned.
I am going to stop there. This was updated at 9am but have already found to mistakes.
I’m really rooting for Malcolm Perry. And comes with a different kind of work ethic to him. Played the guys from West Point at West Point in college. They beat us and after the game they hosted a party. Guess they knew in rugby that was required. Best food ever had at an after game….. but no booze. Academy rules. We were like WTF till was explained. He had a most different college experience and chose it.
Being a retired Navy guy, I’m crazy about the pick!
They said Minkah was a swiss army knife…… thinking he could be whatever the navy uses for that on offense.
YS: The company I worked for 20 years ago had a customer who was an instructor at West Point. I used to meet him at a convention in White Plains every year. I asked him What’s it like to have a class room full of Army cadets? He responded, “for a professor, it is a dream come true. EVERY PERSON IN THE CLASS IS TOTALLY COMMITTED TO BEING THE ABSOLUTE BEST HE/SHE CAN BE!”
Self-selected obviously, but throw in no parties to worry about and demerits for missing class….. heck yeah a prof’s dream.
ANY SPECULATION on which jersey number TUA will select???
I’m guessing his Alabama number 13 is out of the question. (Jake Scott and someone named Marino.)
————–
May I suggest “5?” as in the overall 5th pick? –I don’t think Von Schamann would mind.
Was a stream about this the other day with lots of different answers. My thought was #2. Willing to give the magic of that one to Tua. 🙂
I’m thinking TUA might get a “kick” out of either #2 or #5.

QB’s Blake Barnett, USF and Mason Fine, North TX are still unsigned. Mason Fine is shorter than Brees.
I thought Fine was the 1st rd pick of the cheats😉
I give Jackson a pass on some weakness lasst yer.
I mean c’mon man, he had his bones drilled and drained in the summer.
Even I’d give up a sack or two after that.
And before that, he was a teenager playing major college football.
I heard that might’ve been an issue. Would’ve liked to have seen some 2018 film.
Watching him against Iowa, I didn’t feel strength was an issue. Epenesa seemed to give up most plays, think he lulled him to sleep on his first sack.
Someone posted that same JJ Taylor (Andre the Giant) video during the draft. I like those tiny powerful RBs, so quick always a mismatch.
NEW BLOG UP!!!!
I would hope they speed up Raekwon Davis a little bit, he’s got no twitch off the LOS. He’ll be a nice addition to the DL, but He likely would’ve been there with the next pick. We should’ve gone RB there.
