Sorry Dolphins fan, we tried to look awful smart with pre draft maneuvering, making two synchronized trades with the 49ers to move out of #3 and move back to #12, and then the trade with the Eagles to get back up to #6. Did we get the best TE? Nope! Did we get the best WR? Nope! Jaylen Waddle is a good player, but the moves that we made don’t add up to the player we selected. We may have been able to get Waddle at #12. He will help our offense and be the player we hoped Tedd Ginn Jr. was for us. A dynamic return man and a a guy who will take quick hitters and turn them into big plays. He can be like Albert Wilson was for us in 2018 before he got injured. We can go back and forth about where Waddle would have been taken, but being at #6 and ending up with Waddle is deflating. Sorry, it just is. Grier and Flores get no pass.
With pick #18, I’m telling you guys, I knew we were taking Phillips. In our Mock Draft I picked Phillips because I felt he was the player we want here for our defense. I said it again last night. Although I was right, it didn’t make it any easier because I really wanted Najee Harris. We need an upgrade at RB, and if we somehow don’t end up with Javonte Williams, we will have failed again. I feel like we can have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds in every draft and still find a way to fuck it up. Quality over quantity. Right now I feel like we’re just getting quantity.
In our offense, Jaylen Waddle will be featured often. Tua Tagovailoa likes to get rid of the bill quickly and Waddle will be like Julian Edelman was to Tom Brady. He will help our offense. He will upgrade our return game because although Grant is electric, he’s so questionable about actually fielding punts and kick returns. His hands are suspect. Waddle is much more sure handed. I just don’t see a generational talent in him, and 2 guys went before him that definitely might be, Kyle Pitts and Ja’Marr Chase. We were at #3 and could have had either. This is my qualm. Everyone wants more picks, not me, I want great players, and I’m not sure we got ANY last night. We could have, we didn’t!
Jaelan Phillips is a Flores type player. He knows what he’s doing out there. When Grier took Charles Harris because he had a quick step, he did, but he had nothing after that. Phillips is the opposite. He’s a technician with a bevy of pass rush moves and he’s athletic enough to back that up. He’s fast, and he’s strong, and he’s very athletic. 6’5 260 and ran a 4.56 40, 36″ vertical, 10.5 foot broad jump, 4.12 20 yard shuttle, and 21 reps of 225 at his pro day. His Junior season and last season in Miami, he posted 8 sacks and 15.5 TFL in a shortened season. He’s the real deal, and we need the pass rush help, but we lost out on RB Najee Harris.
We got good players, players that will help our team be better next season, but we had a chance at elite. Pitts or Chase could be elite. When all is said and done, Waddle and Phillips might have very good careers, but Pitts and Chase could be HOFers. Time will tell. I try to be fair, I don’t want to be a rah-rah pom pom waving writer. I want to say it like I feel it, so I did. Go get Javonte Williams. IDGAF if we have to trade to pick #33, get him, because we need him!
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

No Najee or Javonte. Settling for the RB scraps once again in Miami
I saw a piece on Holland on NFLN earlier this week and they said he’s a big time DB who can play anywhere.
Boom, RB lament page turn!
how dare you guys question this impeccable F.O.!
Strengths
Looks, feels and moves like a pro player.
Versatility to move around in the secondary.
Proper eye balance between quarterback and route traffic from zone.
Adequate route-break anticipation from off-man.
Looks to smother and find entry point to play the throw at the top of the route.
Timing to open and sprint into phase with receiver.
High school receiver with excellent ball skills and competes hard for the football.
Tools for continued ball production on the next level.
Consistent punch and separates from perimeter blocks.
Flies into developing run lanes to greet runners near the line.
Makes centered, aggressive strikes as downhill tackler.
Flashed impressive punt return talent.
looks like a hitter
And a punt returner, so Waddle doesn’t have to do it full time
Weaknesses
Scouts have some concerns about long speed.
Loses coverage effectiveness as route progresses downfield.
Had trouble catching up once he got behind in man coverage.
Gets caught flat-footed at times.
A little labored transitioning from his pedal.
Average range as sideline-to-sideline tackler.
Needs to be quicker coming to balance and getting tackle-ready.
In 2019, pushed around at point of attack by Washington tight end Cade Otton.
What a tard Golic, devonta Davis?
Who’s going to protect Landon Dickerson from tearing another ACL?
DeVonta Davis
LOL
We just used a 1st last year on Igawhatshisname, and we just spent a bunch of money on Jones and Howard. I’m not keen on the pick
I hear ya, but if we were going Safety, why not Richie Grant? He’s going to be a BEAST.
We RAN to get the pick in. The FO sees something they like.
True…
Damn. I wanted Barmore.
And here go all the OL
40-Yard Dash: 4.46
How many pics have the bears traded away this year?
Too many, but they didn’t trade up to 4 or 6 and loose them all.
Bears drafting like their ass is on the line
Our defense is based on man coverage that’s why we load up on DBs.
Yeah, we can probably expect to pick a DB in the 1st 3 rds every year
Agreed, but we need more speed on the edges to get to the QB.
I keep telling you guys they love Jesse Davis
Carter at 50?
No, I would wait until the 3rd to look at rb again
i’m trying to find is draft projection, i have him as a 4th rnder?
He’s been a mid 2nd
It’s pretty awesome we’re only 10 picks away from picking again. We’re spoiled, lol
I’ve been watching the entire draft on nfl network for two days
And Rich Eisen has been on for two days
And after listening to him for two days
I’m beginning to think he hates his job
He’s the most arrogant prick I’ve seen on tv
And THERE guys my guy (and Son’s) Richie Grant. SMH
*goes

We RAN to get the pick in. The FO sees something they like.
They didn’t want us to think they wanted Williams
Center at #50.
Creed or Meinerz
Creed Humphrey
Gunner
Did we trade up?
No
That’s what it shows
We just did
Looks like we did to #42
Holland was #54 ranked
By someone.
Now we. Moved up?
mia moved up
We did
shelvin
disregard
It doesn’t say trade, but it is a commercial so
It’s not for a RB….lol
Speaking of UCF did you guys know that the new HC is Gus Malzon. Heuple went to Tennessee with Danny White who was our AD.
Owusu?
We moved up 8 slots
That’s a good pick
Eichenberg!!!
Good pick
Why did we pick Liam? Must be a Flores type guy.
There’s the OT, Stanger. 😉
Ok maybe the love is fading on Davis.
Golden domer in the house
Rhino called it on Eichenberg
Gave up a 3rd next year
What did we give up?
Did we give up our 3rd in 2022?
Yes, but didn’t we have 2?
Yes
Eichenberg… take it… has he ever played Center? lol
I can’t say I support grabbing players from the school’s with the worst college fanbases. First Alabama, and now we are going with guys from Notre Dame.??? sheesh I don’t want to root for these guys on Sundays lol
They did it for you, so you’d like those schools a little more😝
Lol
I hope we don’t draft anyone from Duke
That works, the 3rd next year
another reach, had him at #80
Lol
You did?
Your list sucks he’s another mid 2nd
is he?
These fans cheer, but haven’t got a clue who the player is
why didn’t we take moerig at 36?
We should have taken Richie Grant!
Welp, we started the run on Safeties (with the 3rd best), and again failed to get into the RB run. SMH
Will you make the pick, asshole
Was just tying that
lol, glad it wasn’t just me
2 pick in the 44th rd. What a doink
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/offensive-linemen
I’m NOT happy with the pick of Jevon Holland, but I LOVE the pick of Liam Eichenberg.
We just need to get a Center… AND a RB!
I like him he plays fast
Ball Hawk
I could see him and Jones becoming our new safety tandem
No he’s not what I had in my mocks or on my rating list. 😉
“If we’re just looking at the “best scheme fit” for Oregon safety Jevon Holland… Patriots — playing the same role as Patrick Chung did. Match to TEs. Carry seam routes. Drop down as a curl/robber defender. Make plays in space & impact the run game,” said Bowen.
I turned the volume down on the tv, when I looked up again drew Pearson was still talking
So we did get a Duck and a waddle kewl
Lol yes we did
lol
I’m sure Joe Burrow is going to appreciate waiting until mid 2nd round to address OL while his body recovers in an ice bath every Sunday
So Eich projects to be our RT, right?
I assume so
He’ll have to beat out Davis
LOL
Jenkins would have answered that question. 🐕🥃🥃
No idea but he played LT at ND.
They should make more OL highlight clips
What # is our next pick ?
80
Tanx
81
Ya know, instead of starting the run on Safeties @ 36, why didn’t we just take Eichenberg there? Then, once the run on Safeties began, we could trade up after the run began… later, and for cheaper, being we went for the consensus 3rd or 4th ranked Safety in Holland.
Sorry, but this seems to be a case of Grier getting too cute. I mean, NOBODY was going to take Holland @ 36… and we ran the risk of losing Eichenberg in the process.
No idea what you’re saying. It kind of makes no sense. LOL
I’ll make it short and sweet… NOBODY was going to take Jevon Holland @ 36, and it was very possible someone took Liam Eichenberg before we took him @ 42 (we traded up).
It doesn’t make sense to me.
We very, very likely could have landed Holland @ 42. Now we lost a future pick.
You know this how? We got both players anyway right. You seem to be looking to complain.
Did Owusa-Koramoha get caught wearing a gas mask?? or what?
right?
He’s a tweener and may not fit some teams D or scheme
What are the chances that Austin Jackson gets moved to RT and Eichenberg takes over LT?
As somebody who has seen every ND game for DECADES, Eichenberg is “the man” for OL at ND. Not the ‘talent’ of Quenton Nelson, but a leader and relentless to getting better. All the OL recruits are assigned to spend time with him. He was the ‘closer’. We got a good one here. Depth for sure! Fluker may be a one year “palayer-coach” for all we know.
Eichenberg is a better version of Davis so don’t feel too bad. I didn’t think he had the athleticism you’d like at LT in the NFL, so RT might be just right. His strength is in the running game anyway. He’s got some work to do in pas pro. Smart kid with a lot of experience at a high level.
WTF?
Did you forget Tua throws with his left hand
Brown’s keep building that Defense
they need them all to stop Najee. 🙂

Alright, allow me to create the visual for you of what could have been…
@ 36: Liam Eichenberg
@ 42: Jevon Holland (nobody was going to take Holland before 42, and we STARTED the Safety run by taking him @ 36)
We could have saved our 2022 3rd rounder. Do you understand what I’m sayin’, man? Seems to me we could have retained our 2022 3rd rounder, but Grier got cute.
And if Grier really wanted to part with our 2022 3rd rounder, he could have used it to trade up for Javonte Williams instead.
But he didn’t. The problem is fans get fixated on prospects for months and then get annoyed when the team doesn’t pick your guys. Remember we said we’re going to picks players nobody is talking about? Grier and Flores’ board is not yours. 😉
Jevon Holland would have been there for us @ 50.
Maybe… just maybe, we really like him, like… like like him. LOL
steve,
I don’t care much about protecting a QB’s blind side. That isn’t something I even think about when I look at tackles. This isn’t 1970. Pressure comes from everywhere, and QBs are moving around and rowing from different spots a whole lot more than they ever did. You need protection from both sides. Eichenbeeg is pretty good at certain things in the run game that will make him good at outside zone runs. He isn’t terrible at pass pro, but he will be challenged by the guys he faces in the NFL until he cleans up a few things. I have no problem with the pick.
You just contradicted what you said above
VERY HAPPY that the FO decided to go Offensive Line in round 2. NOT SURE if Eichenberg was the best available, but we’ll certainly know the answer by the end of the upcoming season.
——————-
TOTALLY BUMMED that we’ve IGNORED the glaring hole at RUNNING BACK SO FAR. Seems unlikely that the stud we’ve been looking for is still on the board. The kid from BAMA is both a good pass protector AND a solid runner, especially in 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 1 situations. He should THRIVE as a player for the Steelers!!
maybe we can get Dan Williams at 80?
Not likely, since we pick at 81😜
The only Dan Williams I know already is 80!
How drunk is the saints fan that they put in the chair?
As drunk as Goodell was last year
Lol
That chair must be covered in vodka
That way they dont have to sanitize it each time.
Looking for help for the title name of my next article. This one was RD 1 – Disappointing. Tomorrows? Gimme your best
Typical
‘Duped by Denver”
Armchair GM’s Strike Again!
What do we know?
“I have crabs”

If it all pans out, GRAND! And I certainly hope it does. Nobody will ever have to revisit these matters in 3 to 4 years, if that’s the case. Unfortunately, ALL of us are used to mind-blowing decisions from our FO over the last two decades.
It’s alright to question moves, IMO. It’s not vilifying, it’s just speculative. Imagine being a Browns fan! LOL
Why is there an elf on stage?
Lol, this is really getting to be a circus
I don’t think they are going to go back to Cleveland after tonight
Alright, you’ve got 3 types of NFL Draft fans… LOL
1) My team’s moves were 100%! We rock! Don’t question ANYTHING! RAH!
2) My team’s moves were the worst, EVER! We suck! Piss off, fan boys! UGH!
3) The people in between 1 and 2, and can have honest dialogue with one another.
And regardless of who one identifies as above, it’s going to take 3 to 4 years to ever know if the picks were good or bad. Patience is in order.
Bingo!!!!
4) The desire to question everything is real because it doesn’t fit my vision and my board is the shit. LOL
Lol
That IS true, Tim! I used to be that way about a decade ago, but I’ve learned better. But still, nothing wrong with having convo on our picks. It would be stale around here if everybody all nodded like sheep.
Alright, maybe more like 6 to 7 years ago, to be honest.
I am in the middle of a full on food coma. Fantastic grilled NY strip steaks with twice baked taters and maque choux. I don’t even care who pick next…
Do you offer delivery? 😀
LOL, only if you live next door
Dammit! LOL
last two drafts, players that were selected who haven’t done shit or no longer with the team.
it would appear we don’t have a clue.
Tua Tagovailoa, Noah Igbinoghene, Robert Hunt, Isaiah Prince, chandler cox, Curtis Weaver,
Bro! Last two drafts? You can’t make a judgment after a mere two years, and you KNOW it!
You LOVE to rile the peeps up, don’t ya! LOL
But seriously, ORob, I hope you’re feeling much better today, bud.
I am feeling better, thanks
i think you can make an educated guess watching them play or the lack of their playing time. Iggy & Hunt should be major contributors in reference to where they were drafted
steve,
Yeah probably…but only a little. Lol
***
I still find myself thinking in traditional terms. So, what I was thinking was that it appears the NFL still want their more athletic OT to be on the left side. I think you want athletic guys on both sides these days, but people still talk about guys being “LTs”. I’d say Jackson is the more athletic of the two. I think blindside has been less and less important over the past, say, 10-15 years. But, teams may still be running more to the right, I don’t really know. I still think of a running game going right more than left. For Tua, inside protection is more important anyway. He needs his guards to keep guys away from his field of vision and create throwing lanes.
Any thoughts on Rhamondre Stevenson?
Terrible name for your next article.
Lol
LOL – Seriously, seems like a tough runner, not on the same level as JW, but a guy who wears defenses down, a closer so to speak
He’d be a solid pick. I was wondering if we’d actually go for him, Carter or Meinerz.
LOL
The Texans are about to try to replace DeSean Watson with Davis Mills
We should trade with them again for their pics
I was hopping Ossai would fall to us….😔
Really would be nice if Dieter could be a good Center for us. Guess he may just always be a serviceable back up G and C
Cox, Melnerz, Michael Carter, Tylan Wallace, McNeil, Patrick Jones
That’s what I see left for us here
Trey Sermon
We had a Cox once , he was neutered and became Ballage (less)
Candy till the end
I don’t know much about him MIke but he seems like one of those backs who might be a step too slow to excel in the nfl
What are you all thinking in the 3rd?
Finishing up that last bit of steak and getting some more moque choux (the taters are gone). Probably at least one more rum and coke. Maybe falling asleep…
Maybe Meinerz… maybe it’s time for a RB
Michael Carter maybe?
For some reason, Michael Carter. Goes well with taters and moque choux.
👍
Bookman : I recall thinking Dieter was a great pick at the time … he’s managed to stick around , but never in the lineup
We all cheered the pick
My guy Alim McNeill to the Lions @ 72. Great pick for them.
Yep! Dan Campbell is building a physical team. Gee what a surprise. LOL
See. This Cowboys guy should read all their picks instead of that asshat Paerson.
The draft will end an hour earlier
Pearson’s head swelled after his great Dis of Philly when the draft was there … it was awesome , but he thinks he can catch lightning twice
not a bad pick by Houston in case Watson is in jail. Stanford Qb WAS the #1 player coming out of high school
Cowboys have also really helped their defense I believe

Quinn Meinerz. Get that O-Line SOLID. And in doing so, we can draft a RB later. Let’s make this O-Line solid enough to make an UDFA RB go for over 1,000 yards.
It’s really almost pointless to draft a RB now. Not sure they can’t get the same quality in the 5th
Exactly, Pig.
Bingo! That’s my pick too
Yessir!
That’s about the only strategy left… unless they think either Gaskin and Ahmed can go for 1,000 behind stout run blocking. What we really lost without Najee or Javonte is a guy who can ALSO pass block. That will be harder to find in UDFA …
Maybe they are really happy with Malcolm Brown ?! I dunno
Precisely, Rhino.
^ We don’t seem to put a high value on RBs. Maybe we should get used to that. Maybe we feel middle of the road RB by committee will be fine. If we block it the yards will be there.
I think they put the drunk saints fan to bed
Meanwhile, the Raiders have swapped pick #80 with themselves at #79 with the compensation being raffled at the Bellagio
What time?
Meinerz is still on the board correct?
And Carter?
Both I believe still there
if Jabril Cox is still there at 81 he’d be hard to pass up (no pun intended)
He’s kind of a LB/S hybrid
And we drafted a S last round
But he’s very good prospect
LOL
The Raiders are going to fuck us, aren’t they? They’re going to take Quinn Meinerz.
They already took yer Man leatherwood
Leatherwood wasn’t one of my guys, Manitoba. But I’m sure they will steal Meinerz from under us.
My bad 🙁
Atlanta will trade up to 80 and take him
LOL, I would hate the Falcons for LIFE!!!
Raiders don’t need an RB, who’s trading up?
