In the 2020-2021 offseason, the Miami Dolphins signed free agent C Matt Skura, who was not re-signed by the Ravens. I wasn’t a big fan of that move, I didn’t really have a lot of confidence in the Ravens castoff. Twofold reasoning here. When the Ravens let a guy go, there’s a reason. They are one of the best run franchises in the NFL and when they make personnel decisions, they’re usually correct. Unlike the move last year of bringing in former Patriot Ted Karras, this one smelled of we missed out on who we really wanted but we need to take someone. In walks 2019 Miami Dolphins 3rd RD pick Michael Deiter, #78 overall.
Deiter played all 16 games of the 2019 season at LG with 15 game starts. He played 93% of the offensive snaps that season. You have to go back to 2018 for Skura where played 100% of the snaps and each year his play has decreased. Of course it’s easy to say that Deiter didn’t play much at all last season, but 2020 is a mulligan due to COVID-19. There’s no official status yet that Michael Deiter will be our starting C but it seems clear that they wouldn’t mind if it worked out that way. The former Wisconsin road grader will be given every opportunity to take the job, and I hope he does just that.
Coming out of Wisconsin, Deiter played both left guard, right guard and center with the majority coming at center. Deiter is a bit tall for a C at 6’5 but the Dolphins had Mike Pouncey here for years who was also 6’5. Deiter can win at the LOS but has some trouble with second level blocks. I’ll take winning at the LOS for now. Deiter’s draft rating was “Good backup who could become starter” OK Mike, take the job and run with it! Deiter is signed through next season so we can get a good look at him this season and then we have next season to either decide whether he’s our future center or whether we need to look for another. Skura has a 1 year contract which to me says he was just an insurance policy that the team would use if necessary for one season.
As far as the other camp battles, Austin Jackson appears to be a shoe in for the LT position while at LG, my choice for RT Liam Eichenberg has been getting lots of snaps. I wouldn’t read too much into it, I still firmly believe that Solomon Kindley will be the starting LG. Robert Hunt has been at RG where I feel he will be the starter and Jesse Davis has been getting reps at RT. All this is very fluid though, guys need to get reps in and once again, I feel it will be Jackson – Kindley – Deiter – Hunt – Eichenberg when the dust settles. I do think there’s an outside chance that Jesse Davis starts at RT early but I think/hope that Eichenberg takes the spot.
GO DOLPHINS!!!

Van Ginkel sighting, that is good to hear!!!!
Page turn bitches!
Damn, TE Hunter Long carted off field with left leg injury.
Between Mando and Omar reporting different legs, I don’t know which one but the fact he was carted off don’t look good for the rookie.
that sucks, gesicki is still on the covid list, and shaheen seems like he doesnt care about others well being
we might not be as deep at TE as we hoped, depends on when gesicki returns
when he was Boston College’s leading receiver, tight end Hunter Long went down with what looked like a leg injury and did not return to the game against syracuse.
The one that everyone hates about camp and preseason-injuries
On tight-window throws (defined as less than one yard of separation), Tagovailoa finished first in the NFL in completion percentage (47.5), second in passer rating (83.4) and third in touchdown-interception ratio (5-1), per Next Gen Stats (min. 40 attempts).
At a clip of 24.4 percent pressure eluded, Next Gen also tabbed Tagovailoa as the No. 2 quarterback in the NFL at evading the rush (Josh Allen of Buffalo finished first at 26.1 percent while Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson and Arizona’s Kyler Murray finished third and fourth at 21.0 percent and 19.4 percent, respectively).

wrong link above, this is it
https://www.miamidolphins.com/news/2021-miami-dolphins-training-camp-preview-quarterbacks
Yeah, heard that. Interesting but thought it was because Jesse Davis got dinged a little but is back practicing. Maybe think they are worried about tackle depth without having to mess with the interior in Hunt and Eich.
We also lost Fluker. I think we’re just looking for some vet depth.
Losing Fluker is not necessarily a bad thing
Ken, I think we probably can benefit from some veteran presence in that oline room and also need a guy that we know can come in if necessary and may not be great, but also isn’t a train wreck.
Whomever we get to replace him will probably fit that same mold and not compete to be a starter, so in that sense losing him created a void we now need to fill. I’m just speculating, but that was my thought process right when I read that tweet.
Shaheen is the devil, lmao
lol hes not the devil, just much more concerned with himself over his teammates, not what we should hope for our TE;s
no word on Gesicki doesnt sound good, we might be out our top TE over this, but shaheen is concerned with himself, when he isnt really needed on the field
he might be out of a job if Hunter is not seriously injured
Fingers crossed it isn’t horrible news about Long.
agreed on that, i was hoping to see him on the field
“…rookie tight end Hunter Long reportedly got shoved out of play during an 11 on 11 period and crumpled to the field, where trainers inspected his left knee before loading him onto the cart. Long reportedly could not put any weight on his leg in the immediate aftermath of the injury.”
If serious, we may see Mayrick make the roster or possibly only keep 3 TE and solidify a spot for Hollins.
Assuming the worst, I think keeping an extra WR like Hollins who can also play some TE makes a lot of sense.
OMG y’all
BBM< read Shaheens comments, they are ALL , about himself, he never even mentioned his teammates or coaches ONCE
football is a team sport, no I in it
Reading something above made me realize- I can’t recall seeing Gesicki’s name called very much during these practices…
its a team secret what his status is, but he never came back from the covid list
Oh, right, I forgot he’s been on the COVID list. Cheers
Since the others TEs came off and he didn’t, have to assume he has it.
Fluker is a major liability in pass protection
Oh, well why do you think the Dolphins signed him then?
Maybe he makes a mean breakfast burrito…
lol never underestimate the power of a good breakfast burrito
I am sure chef Kong can make a better burrito. Fluker can be effective in the run game
“the CB had $1 million in Pro Bowl incentives and $3.5 million in additional incentives” — least X has to hit certain marks to hit the raise. Based on what someone posted up above have more to do with playing time than anything else. Guessing he is just gonna “walk off” the next sprained ankle.
Original report said 4.5 mil in total incentives, but I think it’s actually 3.5 mil in incentives and an increase to base salary of about 700k
Sounds like a win win to me
But when it comes to incentives, questions is what are they? Big difference btwn putting on a jersey on game day and leading the league in INTs.
Stang, I listed the details on the last page.
1 mil for pro bowl or all pro (quality of play)
750k for 70% playtime
750k for 80% playtime
1 mil for 90% playtime
Yeah, I think the 700k was comprised of taking away the fines and moving his bonuses by adding them directly to his base salary.
Sorry Cav — forgot it was you, but was why said the incentives look health related. Sounds like we aren’t the only ones worried about his knees, but also sounds like he is gonna get most of the money he wants if stays healthy. The Pro Bowl incentive is different.
The 700k, IMO, is money he would have or should have gotten anyway. Only extra money I can see are the incentives. I hope he achieves them!
I thought they waived Fluker with an injury settlement.
They did, that is why we need another vet backup.
Hey Naples!
Naples!!!
Good to see you man. And yeah Fluker is gone. Wasn’t exactly sure why became something to talk about either.
The reason it became conversation is up the board.
LOL — wasn’t bitching just wasn’t giving him a glass of water. 🙂
LOL, I’d consider that a double callback
Hey guys. Been missing you guys. Well I’ve been busy with life. My son got married on Cape Cod.
If Howard hits all his incentives he’ll make approx 16.3 mil, just over Jones’ 16.1 mil.
And Ken, totally agree, a win-win IMO. I knew we weren’t letting him go either (like you said earlier) unless we got a trade offer of at least two 1s (IMO). All the reports said nobody was willing to trade what we wanted to even consider it. So the real question was whether we would rework the contract or play hardball.
BBM, they waived the fines, but the money they moved from bonuses to base salary is for the 2022 season roster and workout bonuses (basically a slight increase to guaranteed money).
They added about 700k to his base salary this season for ‘the 17th game’. That appears to be additional money, not moved from anything.
I’m taking all this from that one tweet listing the incentives though. Sometimes the details we get end up being slightly different as more info comes out.
Very sweet girl, great parents. She’s a MBA CPA at a hedge fund in Newport RI.
Sugar momma
Congratulations
Sounds like some au pairs are in their future. And nothing wrong with that.
Congrats and good to see ya, Naples. Been awhile
If Hunter Long got carted off and couldn’t even walk off with a guy on each side cause of his left knee injury….. have to think bad ACL, MCL whatever injury. Sounds like the season.
Congrats Naples! 🍾
Not much out there as far as F/A tackles so not surprised they may be shopping for one via trade. Only f/a RT that rings a bell for me is Marshall Newhouse and LT Russell Okung. They are both 33 and may be done as why they are unsigned.
“I’m happy to be here.” — didn’t seem too happy before.
Thanks for clarifying, Cav!
🍻
Kong – what fines did they waive? For missing training camp practices? NFL teams can’t do that anymore, so that’s not correct if that’s what you’re talking about?
From missing minicamp. I think it said $93k. He didn’t get fined during training camp.
He didn’t get fined because he was injured. I promise you teams can’t waive fines due to holdouts
Mike, I promise you it wasn’t for training camp. It was for minicamp in June. Teams can fine and rescind those fines.
Yes that’s correct Cav. He was fined for the mandatory mini camp
🍻
Yeah my son Dylan designs nuclear submarines in Connecticut, so they split the commute and bought a house in Westerly, RI, which us where Taylor Swift lives on the ocean.
Hey mike great article. I like your proposed OL.
Thanks Naples
I want Eich at RT, which is probably the plan, but Jesse Davis is good enough to give him a fight to start. He should be great as 16th man all along the line.
Don’t see how you can’t want Eich at RT, but they’ve been playing him at LG. Wildcard in the situation is not Davis (know what we have there) but Kindley. Should be Eich competing with Davis at RT, but is not as Kindley lines up with the 2nd and 3rd teams.
Now we can concentrate on the season, shouldn’t be any more distractions
Yep, it’s nice this is resolved before our 1st preseason game. Now I can focus my worry on how injuries are going to affect us this year instead, lol.
Cancer in the locker room and the media was my biggest concern. Either wanted it done or him traded. They got it done.
Not really was worried about X being a cancer in the locker room. X has no history of that and it was a contract dispute. Those happen on every team and in every locker room. Players understand that. My biggest concern has been and always be injuries
I’m not worried about it any more. But yeah the injuries part is still there. One of the articles said they will renegotiate his contract after this season. Could be in for the same next year.
RIP Markie Post — she was a good/fun actress on Night Court plus other places and a stealth hottie.
If we add another OT so be it but…
We’ve got Hunt, Davis and Eichenberg to play RT, so not worried about the depth there, but Flores is a different animal he seems to overkill certain positions
And all of them can play guard too. Plus if came to it at least Deiter could play guard while Skura is at center. Will sort out as it will….Kindley is what am really wondering about.
See Kindley and Wilkins in the same boat. Every year Flores tries to light a fire under a young players ass, because he thinks he can get more out of them.
Each situation on who is playing 1st team may be different.
We know certain guys will start, for the positions where there’s competition don’t put too much stock into where players are playing day to day, it’ll all get worked out b4 the season starts
Not worried about Wilkins. He was playing at a high level and I expect he will again. I am worried about Kindley
steve — Eich has been playing Kindley’s position for like 8 days straight. All while not getting reps at RT. That’s one heck of a fire.
https://phinphanatic.com/2021/07/16/lacking-leverage-xavien-howard-needs-miami-dolphins/
I’ve also heard this on NFL radio any it wasn’t from Solomon Wilcots 🤣
But Wilcotts was right 😉
Mike, you understand it’s only training camp fines that can’t be rescinded, right? Training camp that begins in late July. And we all know he hasn’t been fined during training camp. He even said in his SM post that was why he was there.
The fines that were rescinded were for mini camp that took place in June. There is nothing in the league rules that says those fines can’t be rescinded because that is not training camp. I don’t know how to state it any clearer.
Ah OK, gotcha
You guys were just talking about two different things. Happens sometimes.
Stanger: Margie Post was definitely a hottie, Night court was a hilarious show … RIP
Maybe was cause how they dressed her, but never realized when she was on the show. Then saw her on something else after and was “damn she is hot.” Two others like that for me are Goldie Hawn and Meg Ryan. Maybe about how they “show” comedic actresses.
Dude, those are my girls that my wife would give me the ok if it presented itself.
Least back in the day all 3 were smoking. People like Naples just didn’t know it.
Plus my middle son’s wife is expecting her 2nd, which will be our 2nd grandson.
Always thought Markie Post was hot but think Goldie Hawn is Meh. Meg Ryan is “cute” but that’s it. Just mho though
Can tell you my exact moments on both of them. Check out Goldie in Overboard and Meg in Presidio. Won’t complain.
Stanger what you say is true, they try to keep everyone in boxes or roles. Lucille Ball actually had a terrific shape, but they acted like she was merely a clown.
In the 30’s and 40’s she was cast as a beauty…… even if never wowed me like say Virginia Mayo.
Glad they got a deal done with X.
Sounds like Long’s injury could be serious and that sucks.
Did someone get hurt at tackle that we’re looking for depth?
Fluker
We waived him like week ago though. Was just wondering why all of a sudden we’re looking for tackle depth. I guess the info. that we’re looking for depth just came out.
You know how it is, these guys just keep regurgitating the same crap over and over, but in this instance, until we actually have a full 9 man OL we just keep looking
Howard also received assurances from the club that it will renegotiate a new deal in late February or early March following the 2021 season in line with market based on the cornerback’s health and 2021 performance, Rapoport reported.
So if he gets hurt or plays poorly, I guess the team can reduce his contract🤔
LOL, I hadn’t considered that angle. Fair would be if it worked both ways. You ball out, you get a raise, you get hurt, you get a paycut…
Just a dumbass question….
So, if X get’s injured tomorrow and never plays again, under his new contract does he get paid out? And, does that affect our cap?
$6.775 million of the CB’s 2022 salary is fully guaranteed at signing.
This is his guarantee for next year, so if he never played another down for us, and wasn’t traded, he’d have that money from us or if traded the new team would assume that guarantee unless otherwise noted in the trade.
Thank you!
2021 is fully guaranteed at $12MM?
If so, risky business. And, good question on performance, “can reduce his contract”?
It sucks that Hunter Long went down with an injury… hopefully it’s not severe. To be painfully truthful, I don’t think we needed him, to begin with. Gesicki, Smythe, and Shaheen are a winning combo, IMO.
So to hearken back to Mike E’s last write, YES… we need to re-sign Gesicki. Our former blogger Brian and I were talking about and praising Gesicki before anybody else here even knew about him.
I hope Brian is doing alright! GO PSU!
I’m not a big fan of Shaheen, STs, but not a TE.
JMO, but I think many people sleep on Shaheen. He seems to be having a great camp, and aside from the FitzMagic catch of last year, he quietly amassed 3 TDs for us last season.
Tua seems to have formed some chemistry with him, via camp reports.
^
Didn’t really see it last year. Every year is a time for someone else to step up.
Hope he’s ok…
https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/sports/nfl/2021/08/08/dolphins-third-round-pick-hunter-long-carted-off-field-leg-injury/5531979001/
If Long is out any extended period of time, it makes the decision for Cethan Carter easier
Also more incentive to give Gesicki a new contract
^
You can’t dock players for getting hurt. LOL
X’s new contract does.
Because it’s incentive based but it’s not docking him for being injured. A lot of you guys seem to want to penalize him like he’s the only player in the league that gets injured. Both sides came to an agreement and it’s over. He’s on the team and now we can move on.
It’s not docking him for being hurt. It’s an incentive bonus to stay on field. He has to earn the bonus but he is not docked his salary
Maybe it is an old time expression but can’t be the only one who has heard of “dock your pay.” He’s not on the field and he gets paid less.
🙄
You also can’t ask for more money when you have 4 years left on your contract.
I read an article today that said they’re pretty sure this is the first time in the history of the NFL this has happened.
Anyway, the point wasn’t that it will actually work that way. The point was kind of jokingly pointing out the hypocrisy of wanting part of the agreement to be a reworked deal to increase his pay next year if his performance merits it, yet it’s a one way street.
Do you honestly think any of us actually think they’ll reduce his pay next year if he has a bad year? Of course not. Anyway, we always talk about how the team can do this or that, and the hypocrisy of it…well it cuts both ways.
And furthermore, from a certain perspective, Stang is right. Right now Howard has an appx 15.3 mil contract. By playing well, he can bring it up to 16.3 mil. If his playing time decreases below 90% then he starts losing money, so 😛 😛
By playing well? He’s friggin X. He’s one of the best in the business. 🙂
He has to make a pro bowl or be named all pro to get that 1 mil incentive. That’s what I meant by playing well. As long as he doesn’t get hurt, I think we can all agree he’ll be a top CB this year, lol. Probably won’t get 10 INTs, but he’ll do his thing.
He’s definitely motivated since he’s fleecing the team with his evil, one-way street 2022 rework agreement… 😉
He probably won’t have 10 INTs because this year he’s turning it up to 11. 😉
Hey, how about those NY METS???? Now I’m really starting to itch for football! SHEESH!
Ugh, tell me about it. My Cards are firmly entrenched in mediocrity this year. You guys are in a different boat though. You might take your division playing slightly above .500. And if you get in and deGrom is healthy, you can compete in the post season.
This is killing me, I freaking love baseball, right behind football. We were cruising along and then a fucking engine fell off. I get deGrom is out but what’s up with all the bats? We’re the worst hitting team possibly with the exception of Stanger’s Pirates with RISP. So hard to watch this team struggle to get clutch hits. The pitching hasn’t been there but w/o deGrom as the stopper it’s like the rest of the staff except for Tylor Megill and an occasional good effort from Taijuan Walker (today) and Marcus Stroman before this slide began they have thrown in the towel
Years like this remind me how spoiled I am with the Cards.
Hunter’s middle name was ” didnt last”
Mike, the Mets are in one of the most frustrating funks I can remember. They can’t hit.
Talking about contracts, what can Conforto expect to get in a contract season. He’s hitting .200 with 7 HRs. He might have to take a one year deal whether with us or another team. How can any team give him a big deal.
My guess is the Mets will tender him and he’ll take it so he can try and get a big contract the next season. Unless he has a great rest of the season, can’t see it going any other way
Tim, I think you know already, but I’m just goofing around right now. I mean, I am being serious about the hypocrisy, but like I said, the teams get to control so much with the contracts, if a player manages to leverage some of that control, I’m not bothered by it.
This actually played out pretty close to the way I predicted it would. I said give him 4 mil to make him higher paid than Jones, and if he has another good year, we’ll look at redoing his contract next year.
We actually did a little better because it’s a little less than 4 mil, and it’s incentive based, so we have some protections. He also gets 2022 guarantees, but in all honesty, what are we losing there. Is there really a strong chance he’s not playing for us next year? I don’t think so.
Yes and my comments were not directed at just you. Lots of folks have been grilling X about his injury history for over a month now as opposed to how good he is. I’m just glad they got it done and he’s on the team. He’s a difference maker and we haven’t had players like him in quite some time.
The injury history and his age are why you don’t sign X long-term with guaranteed money (yeah he is under contract but rest of the years are “cut” ones). The good is why he is one of the top 3 corners in the game. Seems that give and take is reflected in the new deal.
*correction* it’s actually around 4.2, not a little less than 4
Oho, so you think X is going all Nigel Tufnel this year? Hey, sounds good to me. Bring on the season, lol.
As long as X doesn’t play the drums, it’s all good…
These go to 11
Why not just make 10 the loudest? Well these go to 11. LOL
LOL @ as long as he doesn’t play the drums.
It’s one louder
The long pause and look as Nigel tries to digest what he’s saying about making 10 the loudest, then Nigel dismissing it with “These go to 11” kills me every time, LOL
BIG RED MACHINE!!!

—————-
But that is not accurate. He still gets his salary. The question is will he earn his bonus. It is them for me at work. I get a salary but if I hit certain incentives I get a bonus. If I don’t hit the incentives then I still get my salary but not my bonus
^
I understand, but his incentives other than the Pro Bowl mil are just for showing up to work. Not sure how “He’s not on the field and he gets paid less.” is wrong.
You’re twisting the words, and bashing the team for giving him incentives
Wasn’t aware did that at all. Thought the incentives were the exact way to go, including about playing time given his health history. Really confused cause completely agree with you but you are hitting on me for being wrong. Can you explain? Cause like said I’m right with you.
Anyone ever eat at a Bubba’s 33? We are getting one here in P-cola and opens tomorrow.
The 10 or 11 discussion reminds me of this scene. LOL
LOL, another great scene. “Seven. Minute. Abs.”
That’s like when you’re dreaming about Gorgonzola cheese when it’s clearly Brie time baby! LMAO!!!!
I’ll be rooting for Xzavien this year, but will be hoping he gets zero garbage ints
Figured I’d spell his name the way the U75s pronounce it🤔
What is a garbage INT?
When there’s no benefit
It’s 4th down the QB throws the ball 15 yards downfield, X picks it off and immediately steps out of bounds
So that was the case with his picks? I’d say no. He stopped a lot of drives and scores.
The past is that, who cares what he did last year.
Don’t want to see him get 5 ints this year, that gives us little to no benefit, and he uses them to get a larger contract
Stanger, X is 28 years old not 32. He won’t be 30 until the 2023 season. There seems to be this new thought that most great players in the NFL are 24 years old. Not the case.
Hard to be a good CB after 30 or so
You sure about that? Anyway if that is the case, we get 3 more years of X before he’s after 30 or so. 😉
I know how old he is, but corners age fast Was just giving the front office for doing a great job on the new contract. Do you think they screwed up?
No they didn’t screw up, they did what needed to be done. Man coverage is key to our defense and X is one of the best. You can’t build a team thinking what if he gets hurt. That can happen to anyone at any time. Guys get rewarded for performance, not what if the worst thing happens.
I think they did an incredible job on keeping X and how they structured the contract given the situation. One of the best performances by the Phins front office in years. Just not sure why you guys seem to be coming at me about it.
100% happy is staying with team , and it ain’t my money , I hope balls out
You kept bringing up his age as if 28 is old.
I agree with Tim, they did what they had to, but don’t necessarily think it was good for the team in the long run, but we’ll see how it plays out
Tim — am sorry for bringing up X’s age. I see it as something to consider, but could be wrong. And like said think the Dolphins handled the situation real well.
Sounds like you can swim over now Toba. 😉

How does Canada opening its borders for travel into Canada help Toba get out of there?
——————————–
He can just fly to Boys Town and come over like the rest? 😉
The confusion over all the scenarios is incredible… so yes apparently can fly south , then supposedly cross back by land air or sea … may need a negative test to go within 72 hrs, if staying south more than 72 hrs likely need another to get back in , within 72 of getting to border , then can be randomly selected on arrival to be tested … also we both have mixed vax , which is not yet recognized as fully vaxed by US, and some other countries…
Not sure why it needs to be so confusing,, 🤔
Our projected cap in 2022 is around 60M. Yes we know we have to re-sign some players but the cap to do that is available, as well as adding players not already on the team. We’re in good shape.
Meg Ryan in Joe vs the volcano 😍and Goldie Hawn in anything 👉👌. You’re killing me Stanger.👍🥃🥃
Stanger, no need to apologize, I’m not mad at you or anything. It’s just a discussion. 🙂
I just can’t figure out why what have said is getting people riled up. To me just simple facts. And do think they did an awesome job on keeping X and with the new contract.
Meg had a lot of plastic surgery lately so she now looks like a muppet but back in the day she had a natural beauty to her like Jennifer Anniston . I had a big crush on her 😍
#pinkpencil🐕
LOL
Maybe it cause they didn’t show off the hot bodies, but what Markie, Goldie and Meg had in common is that you almost thought if you met them in a bar you might have a chance. And could be cause they just played the sweet ones.
What bars where you hanging out in? LOL
Bars with at least a few girls that hot, but then never had a chance…. hence the difference. 🙂
To all of us, the X situation is over. He’s our cornerback so let’s get ready for some football!!!!
Didn’t see a single person unhappy about the X resolution. Think everyone is pleased.
As we should be. Even though many of us don’t think we’re ready to win it all just yet, you never know. That’s why they play the games. We’re not rebuilding anymore, we’re trying to contend from here on out. Go Phins!!!!
Except Orob who thinks the team caved…..
My Lord , the Davis family is a homely bunch
Well Mark Davis needs to be kidnapped and taken to a salon. I mean dude, what’s up with that? LOL
I am quite sure it has to be a toupee, it hasnt changed in years. Mustn’t own a mirror 😊
He’s a billionaire and that’s the toupee he rolls with? LOL
Stanger,
You good? Seems you’ve been rubbing a great many people the wrong way as of late, man.
I’m just fine M13. How are you doing? “a great many people?” Seems an interesting way to show concern.
Don’t see that at all, I think people just misunderstand his posts sometimes. Which happens to all of us. Stanger is cool as hell !!
Phindog, Stanger is one of my very favorites on this site, man! I highly respect him and cherish our relationship. He was one of the very first I welcomed on Omar’s blog.
Ok , cool as hell doesn’t make any sense, but Stanger is one of the coolest people you can ever meet.
Dog and couldn’t you and your fam more. Like M13 as well. Hoping sometime we get a chance to meet him.

Touché, sir! 😀
What are we really talking about here?
“He is definitely the best quarterback I’ve coached against. There have been quarterbacks who called their own plays, but it was nowhere near the same as what he did. He basically called every play by adjusting and/or changing the play once he saw what the defense was doing. He excelled at using the cadence and recognizing blitzes, and more than any one single offensive player, he forced us to change and adapt defensive game plans.”
— Bill Belichick on Peyton Manning
My new neighbors 👍
Dave plays all the instruments in all the songs and his wife Valerie is the singer. They are super cool people and told me they won’t crank the music up past 6 and I laughed and said once my music room is setup it will never be below 11 and he just smiled and said you are my perfect neighbor.🎸🎼🎼🐕
That’s awesome!!! LOL
Let me say this about Stanger. When a bunch of us decided to go to the MetLife takeover against the Jets which I believe was 2012?, Mike E picked me up at my house because I lived 10 minutes from there, we took the Haitian canoe. On the way we did impersonations of the Jerky Boys, I thought I was pretty good at it but Mike was better. So we finally arrive and meet up with Ken, Piggy, Brian and Stanger along with some of their friends. I remember Brian’s friend being weirded out that we were there because of a blog. LOL
So back to Stanger, during the game, he leaves his seat and comes back with food and beers for Mike and I because we were sitting together. That’s all you need to know about Stanger.
I sometimes bust Stanger’s balls, but I hope everybody knows that I truly do respect him.
Stanger bought us beers and food while we were in our seats and we didn’t even ask but I didn’t get any jerky boys and Mike E was there 😳
That’s all you need to know about Stanger. As for the Jerky Boys, you had to be in a Haitian canoe aka Mike’s Ford Mustang. LOL
That was a good day, especially since was just us and the Metlife takeover crew there at the end of the game. Hope people don’t feel the need to tell stanger is a good guy stories though. M13 said what he did for whatever reason. I don’t get it but he’s entitled to his opinion. Can I be argumentative?….. guilty as charged. Yet, pretty polite about it.
Peyton is considered the most cerebral QB of all time. I agree with that.
One time we were hanging out during Fest week and Stanger stole my ice cream and ate it.
Okay, never mind he’s the Devil. LOL
👹
Something I didn’t know when I woke up this morning. ♥️
In the early 1800s, the handle on a casket was a “huckle”. The person that carried it was a “bearer”. So what Doc Holliday should have said was “I’ll be your huckle bearer”. Not huckleberry.
We now call it a “pallbearer”. In the South of the mid to late 1800’s a huckle bearer was the equivalent of a pallbearer. A handle on a casket was called a huckle. Holliday, the gun fighting dentist, was raised in a genteel Georgia home, where he would have been aware of such a phrase!
Now you know the rest of the story!
I have learned something today. Now I can go to bed
🙂
Fucking Stanger
Stanger is a truly great guy. There was this one time, we were all just hanging out playing cards, and Stanger, all serious like says: “Do you guys want to go see a dead body?”
Ahh, well let me tell you, we went on the adventure of a lifetime, walking along railroad tracks, singing Have Gun – Will Travel, and running away from Chomper- the old junkyard dog.
Of course when we went to get food, Mike only had 7 cents to add to the food fund. But we made do and sure enough, when we reached our destination, we found a dead body…
Lmao!
He is a great guy!
Stanger will always Stand By You
Lol
Isn’t it always Mike who doesn’t have more than 7 cents!? I asked Stanger once, “why is Mike like that?” Stanger thought for a minute and said, “maybe because he always leaves his wallet in the same place and I fish for our lunches from it?”
Stanger taught me something that day. Something powerful and I’ll never forget it as long as I live. Stanger is a good guy in my book and I only read out of mine.
Working on a $100,000 bond right now. They only have 8,600 of the 10k bond fee so far. Also trying to get at least one cosigner who owns their home.
Dude, on his weekend off, flew to LA, picked up some weed and flew back to Pensacola to drive back home about an hour away in Alabama. While he was getting his 2 suitcases at baggage claim he got nabbed by the drug dogs. Turns out he had 68 pounds of weed in 2 big suitcases.
It’s time to stop making weed illegal in all ways. It’s only a gateway if you the individual makes that happen. It’s a fucking plant that does not need to be processed. Yet the fuddy duddies still can’t figure that out. End the madness!!!!
If weed isn’t for you, cool that’s your choice. Jack and Coke isn’t mine either. See how that works. I’m not a wine guy or many other hard liquors. I like beer. Yet we send people to prison for weed, really? Hypocrisy at its worst!
Without regard to the merits of legalizing weed, dude brings back 68 pounds to a state where it is still not legal? And he obviously knew it was illegal, so he had criminal intent (trafficking). If he just wanted some weed to smoke, he didn’t need to leave Florida. What a maroon.
Criminal!
LMAO!!!!
Omg!
My friends and I made prank calls back in the day because it could not be tracked. Now the detectives will be at your door within an hour. LOL

I am quite sure it has to be a toupee, it hasnt changed in years. Mustn’t own a mirror 😊
I’m in Westgate casino last night, a coworker was playing in a pool tournament.
Waiting for another coworker to show up, this body builder guy working in a sports booth sees my Fins mask and is asking me about my thoughts on the team, then he starts talking about Mark Davis saying he stayed at that hotel 2 years before the Raiders moved.
He brings up a pizza to Mark’s room and gets a $5 tip, then says I don’t want your $5 how about some tickets.
He’s ragging on him for a while…
Mark doesn’t have a hair piece, just a dumb and dumber haircut, but this guy sure did

part time Wilson has started 7 games in 3 years for the Dolphins, hes injured again, and has a 5.1 million dollar cap hit this season
I agree, David. He’s been a waste here. At some point, you wonder how a guy stays injured every year. He hasn’t ever broken 600 yards in 7 years and that’s playing in 75 games. You cab get that kind of production for a lot less money.
That’s why we need to keep 7 WRs on the team, they’re all constantly hurt, even Waddle was drafted hurt.
Keeping 7 we should be able to field a decent group each week
at least the space he occupies in your head is rent free
lol thats a dumb way to look at it
i doubt the Dolphins will consider that, to retain his benchwarming talent
im just pissed Mississippi passed up FL, that cramps my picking on Mississippi agenda big time, lol
Wilson was not injured last year he opted out and only got paid a stipend last year. He is back and practicing with a chip on his shoulder and balling out. This is first practice he has missed. Parker, Fuller and Williams have missed much more.
Wilson is a weapon defenses have to account for. He can burn you just like Waddle. Sure he is injured a bit but dude gives all when on the field.
This is his last season here. This is a prove it season for him. He has a good connection with Tua. Almost half of his contract is dead cap if released. May even cost us more if we trade him cause the majority of his pay is in bonuses. Of the 5.1 mil only 2.1 is base salary.
Let him sit a little during TC and keep him healthy and get every dollar out of him during the season as you can.
DO we really think Parker, Fuller, Wilson and maybe even Waddle play a full 17 games (16 Fuller) this season anyway.
Keep your weapons.
Add Williams to those 4 and I don’t think any 2 play all 16 or 17 games
Letting all these WRs sit a little bit during trying camp is what I think is happening.
Some may have injuries, but seems a very cautious approach
he was practicing limited in day 6, and was out yesterday
he was out the entire year last year, and gets injured in training camp
we should expect more than 7 starts in 3 years, and an injured training camp year 4 IMO
at some point we have to figure his value at near minimum, hes not what we need
He opted out due to COVID last year.
With the X restructure, looks like the focus is back on injuries
Long going down hurts more for his future development, than this year IMO.
TEs usually don’t make much of an impact as rookies, especially one that was someone buried on the depth chart.
WRs may be a different story or they may just be cautious with them.
Something to think about, but nothing to fret over
if Gesicki was in camp, i wouldnt even think about Long much
With the X restructure our cap has dropped down to 6.3m, we’ll get some relief, when the final 53 gets done and some higher paid guys, especially at WR are gone
Final number to carryover will likely though be only slightly higher, than what it is today
There isn’t a db in the league that can stop that Waddle route 1 on 1 from the video.
Only chance to stop it is playing zone with an LB sitting on it, and if they play zone he can sit down.
Expect to see this play in highlight reels throughout the season.
Put Waddle in motion, so at the snap he’s going full speed right away, if there’s space on that side he’s going to run a long way.
What I like about Flores is he puts guys in position to succeed
When you hear all the positive reports about Waddle

Sorry to hear the Dolphins caved and re-upped a one year old contract and promised to do it again in another year. It set a very bad precedent for the team and the league in general. That said, It’s not my money so as long at the front office can manage the repercussions of their actions, then all I care about is my team winning. (Which Massengill X gives them a better chance at.)
Long’s injury really sucks. It will set back his development. Hopefully it isn’t a serious structural injury.
I can’t wait to read later this week about how our guys fair in live practice against another team. It will give us a bit of a clearer view on where the running game and big uglies are shaping up. I’m just hoping for NO INJURIES!
Go Dolphins!
If they feel the need to trade for an OT, how about for a WR? We got more quality ones of those than we can keep.
What inspired the What the F*ck behind Lucas’ name?
He’s not that bad!
So I did a search to see what channel I have to be on to see next Saterday’s game against the Bears the this was the google results.
TV options:
ABC
NBC
CBS
Fox
NFL Network
So, basically every channel then? Thanks Google.
Cool song from my new neighbors.
Hope they ain’t your next door neighbors. Ever see the 2.5 Men episode where Steven Tyler moves in next door. 🙂
They live behind us and are cool people. Annette and her get along great. Haven’t seen the 2.5 episode with Steven Tyler but am a huge fan of him.
I’m sure they are cool as anything, and always great to like your neighbors. In the episode Tyler (who did a good job) was blasting music and practicing…. so was thinking about that song on level ten. But we ain’t 25 any more and not rock stars.
Interesting on how the Bears view our upcoming joint practices.
https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-who-will-be-tested-most-by-practices-with-dolphins
Interesting indeed. Must be tough for QBs to practice against our multi-front blitz heavy D. Wish some Dolphins writer would do a piece like that.
One Miami receiver who has been impressive in camp to date so far is Lynn Bowden.
Our beat writers and Bowden himself have said he needs to pick it up or he may be outside looking in
Bars or whoever lines up in practice here with the first team could be facing the new Nigerian Nightmare, Emmanuel Ogbah. The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder lines up at left defensive end in Miami’s four-man pass rush. Last year he had nine sacks, same number as Khalil Mack, 3 1/2 more than he had in any of his previous seasons in Cleveland and Kansas City.
