Lol….in CR sitting on beach finishing up a nice dinner with a few guero sours after watching the sunset and thought I might look to see how the Dolphins did….

    Not much has changed!

Dolphins seem to have sucked, again.

Orob is still clueless and gnawing on Tua’s bone…lol. Probably a better word to be used besides gnawing….

And, Mf13ss is still calling Stangerx out for baby bullshit….get a life, dude. There really is something wrong with your double-speak, passive aggressive approach.

Also, Mf13ss, you’re pretty clueless when it comes to stangerx. You’ve never met him and yet you espouse your disdain for him, and then cloak it as a political thing. You should really shut the fuck up…you come across gutless and stupid. Almost, like Orob.

    Lmao…back to pura vida!

    I’m out.

Not trying to shit on Tua too much but undrafted Cooper rush just had a 325 yard game against a solid Minnesota defense in his first game ever. He has better tools to work with and much better coaching but would a new regime look at Tua’s resume and think “We have to keep this guy!” I don’t think they will. I hate it for him, but I don’t think they will.

Haven’t seen it yet but think it’s going to happen sooner or later. LOL

  7. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

people always bitching about often injured players, this type of offense they’re running breeds injuries, lets see you run into a brick wall over and over, see how long you last.

  8. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

the field is cramped, this offense doesn’t use the entire field, they cram 22 players into a portion of it.
it’s the qb play and no downfield threat.

as i said earlier prior to the season, dc’s will take away your strengths and make you beat them with your weakness.
tua’s weakness is the long ball game.
that’s why he consitently throws for 200 yards a game.

watch his throws, they wobble. he is not an nfl qb due to lack of arm strength.

as long as he’s behind center this team can not win.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I can almost guarantee you said the same thing with Tannehill. The only season he threw downfield was the Ajayi season. Now he does it all the time with Henry and the TEN O-line. We have a sieve of an O-line, no run game, and he hardly ever plays with the same receivers on the field because they’re always hurt.

  9. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

a guy like watson with a serious arm and downfield threat will open up the field, his play will pick up the entire team, we will be able to run the ball, the D will play better inspired defense with more rest.

it all starts at the qb position, that’s why the entire team looks to be a mess, along with the coaches.

    Tua is the problem

  10. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

Rock, when do you ever see me say blow it up? I have no problem with it because what are we looking at in all phases? Yeah I like some young talent, but we’re not a good team.

I’m at the point where I don’t really care what we do. I’m deflated.

I can’t say that I have ever seen you say to blow it up. I don’t think I ever said that you have said it. Was this just a post to me because I have called for blowing it up and you are feeling that way now? I am just wondering what the reason behind addressing me about it at this point is. I don’t have any feelings about you addressing me about it, other than curiosity.

    Per Adam Schefter:
Houston Texans are prepared to keep Deshaun Watson past Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, even as many in the organization would like to deal him and turn the page, per league sources.

  13. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Joe Rose just came on the radio on his own show, he’s trying tom get back from Buffalo to FLA. He called the game on radio and he said Tua never had a chance. He had no time, and although he believes that Waddle needs to be running deeper routes than 1-5 yards, he reiterated that Tua just doesn’t have any time to throw a deep ball. He went on to say how Ed Oliver just mauled Robert Hunt all day long, how many missed assignments there were on BUF blitzes where guys slide over to pick up other rushers and then discussed how so many guys on this coaching staff are doing jobs not very familiar to them and how when we screwed up on those motion plays, the co0aches have to call time out, or the QB should call time out. Just poor coaching all around. He feels very much the same as I do, that we let BUF off the hook when they were clearly off their game, especially in the 1st half. Keep blaming the QB, this team is a fucking mess, and the QB could be successful with better coaching!

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

      Who is our best olineman?

The answer to that question outlines the biggest issue this team has on the field. (I’m counting coaching and talent acquisition separately, lol.)

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

From watching this team I’d phrase it as which O-lineman isn’t our worst. I might have said C Austin Reiter but he snapped the ball into Gesicki’s leg as he was in motion. I’m not sure we’ve had a bright spot from any of our O-linemen, which is a damn shame. I can only imagine that a high level O-line coach would have this unit playing so much better. I doubt we don’t have talent to work with, I just think the coaches are letting these young players down.

      • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

What is it? Four oline coaches in 5 years, or something like that? add that to our 3rd and 4th offensive coordinators under Flores, how can this team possibly have any continuity?

We’re such a mess that all of us have a different idea of what the biggest problem is, and I’m not sure that any of us are wrong.

Do the players suck because the GM can’t pick ’em?
Or does the coaching suck because the coaches can’t coach them?
Does the oline suck because they all aren’t good enough?
Does the QB suck because he has a questionable arm and can’t throw deep?
Does the defense suck because we have no pass rush?
What about our LBs? How often do they show up with big plays in a game?
Do special teams suck because…well I don’t know what the hell is going on there..
Does the owner suck because he can’t get the right guys in the FO?

I mean the list goes on and on and on, and honestly it’s difficult to pin down cause and effect. That is why ultimately I put it on GM and coach. The entire team suuuucks from top to bottom, for whatever reason.

We played a good game defensively yesterday until it counted

I don’t really understand what we are doing defensively

It seems like there are a bunch of guys on the LOS (5-6)

And then a bunch of DBs giving up a lot of room underneath
Once Josh Allen started to chip away with underneath passes we were toast

It seems like we do this every week

    Do we play any LBs?

Guess Florio now his graceful out. “I was right the trade was gonna happen but then…..” Or maybe the trade was never gonna happen anyhow and he just got a lot of clicks out of writing about it.
    ————————————–
A week ago, the Texans and Dolphins were closing in on a deal for quarterback Deshaun Watson. Per multiple sources, the Dolphins wanted Watson to settle the 22 civil lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions. Per multiple sources, once the Texans caught wind of the growing possibility that the 22 civil lawsuits would be settled, their price for Watson went up.

  22. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

We say we have no running game but that is only part of the problem. The problem is we don’t run enough. We go away from it so much. We only averaged just over 3 yards a carry. So what. We only had 19 running plays to RB’s. Teams who run the ball close to 50% of the time seem to have more success no matter what. Example:

Derrick Henry before getting hurt late yesterday carried the ball 28 times for a measly average of 2.4 yards a carry. They had over 30 running plays for the game. They won.

Patriots QB had all most identical #’s to Tua yesterday in completion % and yards and was credited with 0 scores, Tua 1 Score. Difference, we ran 19 times and the Pats ran 35 times despite averaging about 3.8 per carry. They won.

We have had a few games where Gaskin has averaged over 4 yards a carry but call 20 run plays or less a game.

The main problem with our run and pass blocking, IMO, is this RPO shit. Get rid of it! Our OL can’t fire off the line on run plays for worry they will get to far down field. Call a fucking run play or call a fucking pass play. Let the OL not have to guess what’s coming. We have some mauler’s on our OL who have to play Patty Cake (see Robert Hunt yesterday) with the DL in this scheme instead of bulldozing them and wearing them down..

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

All of our runs are draw plays on first down

If we run 10 times a game
It’s the same running play on the same Down

We haven’t had a lot a leads this year where we would put in a run heavy offense

But that said, the running game is atrocious – bc it’s pretty much a superficial running game intended to keep the defense honest, instead of a running game designed to gain yardage

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t think RPO is the issue though

I just thing the whole thing is designed poorly

It’s a spread offenses, with no real run game, and where we play multiple TE sets and all of our receivers run 6 yard hitches and curls

I don’t get it. If you are going to play 2 and 3 TE sets, why not take adavatage of that and pound the ball inside a little more

  23. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Kong said it best, it’s nearly impossible to identify what the biggest problem is because we’re basically failing everywhere. I keep hearing how great our defense was in the 1st half. Buffalo was flat and wasn’t playing well. How many sacks, tackles for loss, forced fumbles or interceptions did we have? The Bills were inept in the first half, they changed that after halftime and kicked our ass. Our offense and special teams let us down big time in the first half. We should have had at least 13 points.

I can’t stand thinking about this team, I hate it. There’s no easy fix. I don’t know if Flores is an issue as a HC, but his staff sucks and the truth is he probably has a lot to learn. Question is, do we give him that time or do we clean house and hire a new GM and head vouch? Flores clearly doesn’t know how to put a top notch coaching staff together

  24. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

We are 7 point favorites against the Texans on Sunday.
    Ain’t that refreshing!

  25. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

i dont think miami has to budge, watson wants to come to miami, miami has nothing to gain at this point in getting him,
the season is over for miami.
wait till the off season and then get him, if he really wants to be in miami his no trade clause will allow that. i think the Texans are the ones at a disadvantage.
if Miami’s offering three 1s, the texans are crazy not to jump on that.

    • son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

I doubt we’re offering three ones maybe three guys who were ones but I just don’t see it being 3 ones at this point.

  26. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

They have no idea how complicated it is to settle 22 civil complaints

It’s also completely absurd to believe that Watson’s sticking point on settlement is a confidentiality clause he’s only interesting in waiving after a trade…WTF!

He doesn’t want to settle the claims until he is traded?

That’s is certifiable bullshit from a lot of people who don’t understand the way the law works.

It’s not the nfl that should be driving that ship, it’s the law that should be

If any of that is true about Watson, he is the dumbest man on the planet not just a bad prospect to trade for

And Houston putting its thumb on the scale when they got wind of it, is really stupid too. Who were the Dolphins trading with?

The Texans got wind of the possibility that they might trade their own QB….okay…I would have thought they are the first people to know…but that’s just me I guess…

And the thing about the Dolphins trading being contingent on the civil cases only bc they can’t do anything about the criminal stuff is just insane. The only reason I buy that’s at all is bc the team is catatonically inept under Ross, so overlooking the importance of a criminal charge seems up Ross’ alley at this point. But to those of us who are rationale people – it’s not a minor detail

It sounds like Florio is making up stuff to cover for his earlier reporting

I wish the Dolphins would have closed this door a long time ago. The teams lack of focus shows up every week on the field even when the team doesn’t show up

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Obviously you can settle the civil suits, especially cause all brought by the same lawyer. But if the Texan’s upped the price cause of that is only they really don’t want to trade him now and think the price will be higher in the offseason. Clearly according to Florio was only going to happen cause Watson would have been traded.

Yeah — think he wants to walk away from all those stories with “was right, except….”

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Even if they are filed by the same lawyer
Every civil litigant has to be in agreement with each other
Good luck getting 22 people to agree about millions of dollars

that takes a lot of coordination and a meeting of the minds that is not conducive to and nfl trade deadline

I can buy into Watson’s agent and Watson’s lawyer told Florio these things and Florio ate them up without scrutinizing it, but it sounds pretty unlikely to me to reflect reality

It really just sounds to me like watsons people are floating stuff out there to get the best deal possible for him in a pretty shitty situation and some journalists are happy to report it, not alternatively, accurate reporting

It also sounds like the Dolphins have been willing to play but only after everything is resolved – which makes the Dolphins an inept organization

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Call me crazy but I think money can solve such situations. Imagine if the offer was twice the demand in each case and made clear was only open if accepted by the Nov 2 trade deadline.

Could not agree more that these stories are driven by Watson’s team though.

  27. D's avatar D says:

I’m here to tender my resignation to being a Dolphins fan until the entire front office and coaching staff are removed. I believe there has been little indication of change after first voicing my complaints of their recent actions and as such I do not feel change for the best will occur.

As this is the case I tender my two weeks notification. Out of respect for the organization I have loved dearly since childhood, I will honor these two weeks to the fullest and perform my duties as loyal follower of this team during that period.

In the end, the mishandling of controversy, in ability to follow through with development of top draft picks, and others horrible team management are at the core of this decision. The continuing failures in these areas represent the inability to identify and correct said issues and likely mean a further extension of these behaviors.

  28. D's avatar D says:

For my beliefs, this isn’t a Tua issue, they are destroying any chance of him working out here. It’s not the Defense, it’s loaded with talent and the level of failure from that group is so egregious you can’t put all of it on the players. The offense and deficiencies there are more apparent, but there doesn’t seem to be any solutions in sight.

Once you add everything up and look at it systematically, only one group touche all the areas of failure, that being the coaching staff. I believe the years of continuing failure reflect on the leadership, in particular the front office so, current team performance issues, coaching majority, player performance secondary, decades of under performance, FO and upper leadership despite the different groups involved the problem seems to be passed down.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I think that’s right

The owner for one, can’t keep his eye on the ball and is ready to chase the greener grass every time he looks across the street

      That’s fundamental organizational dysfunction

Bad owners can still be successful if they hire good people around them
But that’s a roll of the dice and he’s missed every time he tried
And it’s probably the same problem – chasing coaches that don’t want to work with him, etc

Owner basically doesn’t know when to step in when he does

He should have stepped in and said “who is calling the plays”? Before it ever became a convoluted issue

Flores experimenting with an unconventional coaching structure should have never stood. The person who could have put his foot down to that was Ross

I mean you give your football people control – but you don’t allow them to walk a tight wire without a safety net

And Flores giving this weird offensive structure seems like just an experiment to me

Same thing with Grier and some of those choices to part ways with vets. That’s taking a lot of risk. He was really confident with his picks . Missing on Jackson is one thing – but being that confident is another

And are Flores and Greir even on the same page
How did both of them think this OL was ready?

To me that kind of stuff speaks to fundamental disorganization

      And that’s the owner

And that’s a problem for us fans

It’s tough bc we can’t do anything about it

  29. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    To sum it up stanger

I think Florios source has always been Watsons people

And the Texans and the Dolphins have both been willing to entertain the idea, even at the expense of the success of their own teams in 2021 – which is malpractice by both teams

It’s just 2 horribly run organizations being manipulated by Watsons people. It’s not much different from the times before when Ross was taken for a ride

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Yep — think Watson’s agent has been pulling the media strings all along. Not sure what to take from it except Watson is completely open to coming to So Fla.

  30. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Here are the 3 most likely players to be traded before the trade deadline according to DolphinsWire.

    CB Xavien Howard
Asking price: At least two second-round picks

    WR DeVante Parker
    Asking price: A third-round pick

    WR Preston Williams
Asking price: A conditional sixth-round pick.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m not sure we’d get a 3rd for Parker with his history of injuries and I’m not sure we’d get anything other than conditional pick for Williams who can’t stay on the field either.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Parker is our best WR and under a not so much contract. Despite the injuries wouldn’t trade him for a 3rd. Williams either.

  31. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Some one posted this on Twitter

Keep in mind, this is one of the few times yesterday in the first half when we didn’t run a draw play on first down

It was a productive play, but this is our passing offense

Everyone is running routes a couple of yards from the LOS
They are basically flooding one side of the field short to open up the other side

It’s a quickm one option (Parker on this play) offense by design

That is how they designed it

  32. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Wonder what the price would have been without the payout.

“Monday the Rams shipped their second- and third-round picks in the 2022 draft to Denver for eight-time Pro Bowl edge defender Von Miller. As part of the deal, the Broncos will pay almost all of Miller’s remaining salary ($9 million of $9.7 million owed) this season.”

  39. D's avatar D says:

That play up there looks like most missed the biggest fucking reason that’s a horrible play. You see all three receivers? Not only are they all running shallow routes, they are running in the same space. Two of them are so close and running the same route they can literally be defended by one player. Those three guy were dead as possible targets right after the snap.

Then ya got shitty blocking from Jackson, so he can’t get through his progression to get back to Parker and even if you do it’s probably at most a 5 yard gain. The CB is already breaking on the pass because he knows that’s his only viable target.

    • D's avatar D says:

Not you guys missed it, people in the comments.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Piggy said the play went for 9 yards.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It did, the throw was to Parker

The design seems to be to get the defense on one side
And that frees up space for the WR on the other side
But if you ask me it’s really hard to get YAC if every DB is giving the team cushion

That’s how teams are defending us and why we are always having to covert 3rd downs
And are really getting a first down on early downs

Teams are just giving us space to work underneath
And then the drive takes forever to move the ball downfield

And all we need is a dropped pass or worse to crush the drive

And that particular play is one of the only plays where we didn’t run a draw on first down in the first half

        Usually it’s a run for 1 – 2 yards
Then a play like that on 2nd down
Then we have to convert a 3rd down and we have to run the same type of play we just ran on 2nd down

I think it’s pretty hard to keep a defense on its heels when you are running similar plays every 1st down and then a similar play every 2nd and 3rd down

That said, Tua has been really effective with those short passes

It’s just no way to break a game open IMO

That video is too long to hear stuff reiterating everything that is being said here. We all watch the games. It sucks!

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Ah! But it has nothing to do with the games we collectively watch! It has to do with this team being done in from the top down. All the people who wear a suit are responsible for what’s going on.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

It’s nothing but clips from the media interviewing coaches and players, media reports/tweets, and how it ALL ties together… and how it’s sabotaged Tua. I think you’d like it.

  44. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Piggy, the thing that keeps standing out to me is we look unorganized too often on both sides of the ball. Nobody on our team ever takes a play to the house on a big play 40+ except for that 80+ INT return by Roberts against the Raiders. Then we make mistakes ala penalties when we make a play and it gets called back. Not much is working for all sorts of reasons. 😦

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Those plays, especially the ones we see to Waddle, are designed to get big YAC

      But the design is flawed

When Parker catches that pass on that play, all the DBs are in position to make that tackle

No one is stretching the field on the okay – no one is running downfield

That play Is fine for converting a 3rd down
That play is also pretty good for setting up 2nd and short (but we really set that up)

But that play isn’t going to break for a big yards

It’s weird to me that they put 3 receivers on one side and had them all run to the same spot as Parker so all the DBs just know to keep the play in front of them

Even if you don’t think Tua will connect deep or if you don’t have confidence, don’t design a play where all your weapons are in the same part of the field and every defender can make the tackle….I don’t get that at all

But even that said, a play like that can be effective. And it was yesterday
But they can really string a series of effective plays together, other than on the first drive when the script it

To me that speaks to lack or organization

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I hear ya! We don’t play like a team that wants to take it to you. We play conservative and make mistakes. Not a good recipe.

  45. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I don’t understand how we haven’t been able to fully unleash Jaylen Waddle. I mean, he’s comparable to Tyreek Hill or DeSean Jackson, and he’s being utilized like Joe Philbin would utilize a player of his caliber… ya know, bubble-screen galore.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And actually, Adam Gase did the same thing to players such as Waddle… bubble-screen galore.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I know we have pass pro issues for deep routes but I hear ya, not once could Waddle beat a defense over the top. And if he can’t that’s now a problem.

I think Flores took a chance on some coaches, gave them a shot to run the offense and it has blown up in his face. The stuff we saw with this offense on Sunday was fricking ridiculous with guys running around like they had no clue. That’s coaching. That shit should never happen. We have people designing and running this offense that simply shouldn’t be.

A 1st round pick in 22 and 23, Tua Tagovailoa, Jaelan Phillips, Brandon Jones and some other mid and/or late round picks not confirmed – for fuckin Watson. Ugh!!!

  51. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

the problem with this offense is they have to design it for a weak arm qb, when was the last time tua aired it out to a deep rec?
opposing ds know this, they want you to beat them deep. they crowd the box, it limits the run and all you get is dink and dunk.
watch tuas throws, look at the speed, it takes forever for that ball to get there. it’s very obvious.

that’s why this offense sucks and they know it.

why else would deshaun watson be sought after?

    it affects the entire team

  52. ocalarob's avatar ocalarob says:

the problem with tua is he lacks the arm strength to attack every part of the field. he can only attack the short intermediate part. there’s no space for this offense to work in, everyone is cramped in tuas throwing range.

  59. New Age's avatar New Age says:

There’s no way we’d do well with Watson or whoever. This team is poorly constructed and coached. Those can’t be ‘worked around’. Think about what Grier has done outside of the drafts. We paid constantly injured Parker too much. We kept Wilson and Hurns even though they showed no sparks or even effort. We kept Williams even though he likes warming the bench. We didn’t already extend Gesicki even though he’s the @1 WR on our team this year and was the #2 last year. The guy is elite…so we keep paying Parker to warm up the exercise bike. Gesecki plays in the same NFL these worthless, always injured WRs do. He faces the same problems…and rarely is injured. His reward? Maybe we’ll keep you. What a bunch of retards. We got Greg Little…to never be active. Great job guys! You definitely deserve to run an NFL franchise.

Flores is desperate to keep defensive players with age and injury history…in an offensive league. I hope the next coach is an offensive guy that didn’t need to lean on Manning or Rodgers for his resume. Maybe Ross keeps his terrible talent evaluation out of it. I’d like to see the Rams OC get this job if he’d come here. Guy at least knows hot to run an offense. We are probably a turd option though He might want the better option….Jacksonville.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I honestly think Tua, Gesicki and Waddle are 3 pieces to build around

      Fix the OL
Being in a RB that can break plays
Get some receivers that stay healthy

But don’t do it with this clowns how coaching staff or this gm

      • New Age's avatar New Age says:

It’s definitely the backbone of a good young offense. We just need people who can understand how to use this talent. Greg Roman comes to mind as a guy who can remake an offense to his QBs strength and who understands the need for a running game.

  68. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

People are worried about the Watson trade happening before 4PM, but far more likely would be some other player. Probably doesn’t happen, but my best bet if it does would be X. And he did demand to be traded.

  69. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Florio should be banned from “journalism” because he just makes up bullshit

“As reported during Football Night in America, the Dolphins and Texans were closing in on a trade early last week, and Watson also was working toward settling the 22 lawsuits. The Texans then caught wind of that, and the price for a trade went up. With no deal in place, the Texans had the right to change the terms — especially if the Texans were considering softening their demands based on the legal uncertainty. With the Dolphins and Watson working to resolve the civil side of the uncertainty, the Texans had less reason to relent.”

So the team that is neck deep in the BS “caught wind” that the one roadblock that was supposedly stopping the trade was going to be removed and they decided to stop the trade themselves…..

  70. Capt. Stubbs's avatar Capt. Stubbs says:

I’m personally not sure what to make of this team right now. I know the consensus is to blow it all up. I just wonder if that’s the answer. Flores is still learning and being unable to keep consistency in coaches is killing him. None of the assistant coaches seem to be working. I think he thought he had a good core or possibly not, being most were promoted within. Bellecheat sucked his first few years. I personally don’t want another rookie Head Coach

  71. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

soooooooo, you see there are these ancient aliens that crash landed on earth 10 Million years ago and they have been secretly living in the middle of the earth (which is really hollow) These aliens genetically altered lower primates to become humans and have steered society through the ages all with the goal of birthing Watson so he could then fail at being the franchise QB in Houston and be traded to the Miami Dolphins.

  72. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

In all of this Watson drama no one has asked why? If Waston is so great why would they not want him?

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

Easy — the price tag. Texans been looking for a Herschel Walker deal. Even after the legal stuff came up.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So, if it was just the price tag and they really do want him, does he start against us next week? They are paying him $620K per week to sit on the bench.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

They could start up whenever they want, but the actual trade couldn’t happen till the off season.

  73. stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

    According to Barry Jackson:

“The Dolphins have decided that they made the right decision moving Austin Jackson from left tackle to left guard; he will play that new position for the foreseeable future, potentially well beyond this season.”

That’s great I guess. Just didn’t realize we had drafted a G that early. But suppose better than a total bust.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Tunsil played OG early in his career too

That’s not really a huge issue

believing he was ready to be the starting LT is still inexcusable even if they find use for him now

Now we have 4 OGs for 2 positions and 1 OT (I’m counting Eichenberg) 2 fill 2 OT positions

So the personnel needs weren’t filled to field an OL that can help them win

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

we had Brandon Albert a probowl LT at the time and Tunsil was a consensus top 10 pick until someone sabotaged him by leaking the gas mask video on draft day.

    • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

besides, wouldn’t the team need to get Watson’s permission on which GM to hire to replace Grier anyway? Isn’t that the BS that started all of this? A fucking player deciding he can veto the owner on who to hire? GFYS handjob boy.

      • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

I didn’t like it but a little more complicated than that. The Texans broke a promise to let Watson have input as to who the new GM would be. Watson didn’t like hearing “Hey meet your new GM” after that.

Doesnt really matter, we’re toast this year anyway

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

It matters to the extent that the team is completely unfocused on a plan to win after telling us in 2019 that they were going through growing pains in rebuilding

        Team is going nowhere fast

And every time some one up top decides they want a new shiny toy, it speaks to a complete lack of direction

How can they be scratching their heads and figuring out what they want to do on offense in 2021, after having a boatload of draft picks and time

It’s embarrassing. It’s a complete lack of leadership and Ross is at the forefront of it

  80. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So, you are Cal Mcnair and you have to pay out 10.5 Mil to a malcontent who wants to quit your team because he didn’t get a say on who the GM of the team would be. A Malcontent who the league has not put on the exempt list as a favor so you can try to trade him. The trade deadline has past. Do you ask for him to be put on the the exempt list now? Do you make him play? There is no impetus to protect him anymore this season. What do they do?

    • stangerx's avatar stangerx says:

What you want is for the league to suspend him. Don’t have to pay him at that point and each game suspended is one less game whoever you trade with has to deal with.
