SPENT MOST of the early evening switching between the Blues @ Lightning match and the Cowboys @ Saints contest. Early in the third period Tampa Bay scored to take a 2-1 lead. A few minutes later the Bolts’ defensman,Victor Hedman took an ill-advised penalty. You could almost see the smoke coming out of his ears when the Blues tied the game at 2. Hedman decided it was time to get VERY serious. In less than 2 minutes, this All-Star defenseman scored TWO GOALS to open up a 4-2 lead for the home team. It was awesome!! So, the Lightning cruised to that 4-2 win as the fans roared their approval. Beginning Saturday, the Bolts go on the road to play 3, count ’em, THREE games in FOUR DAYS!!! That’s INSANITY!! No team can play at the NHL level by playing 3 games in 4 days. Time for the league to get A LITTLE LESS GREEDY and alter their schedules to PREVENT THIS DANGEROUS STUPIDITY. Tampa Bay has already lost their two top players to injury for anextended period of time (Kucherov and Brayden Point). Time for them to cut back the 82 game schedule to where it was in Gretzky’s heyday (78 games, or less). And, in years when they close down the NHL to participate in the Winter Olympics, the schedule should be either lengthened or cut back to say, about 66-68 games.

But, alas, as Harry Truman said, “Common sense isn’t so common!” GREED will still win out.

The other big sports event tonight is the Dallas @ New Orleans game. So far, neither team has scared me with an over powering performance. Both QB’s have thrown several dink-and-dunk passes. They must have noodle arms, right?? Well, maybe Tarzan will make a special appearance at quarterback tonight and show us what a REAL MAN CAN DO AT QUARTERBACK, EH?

TIME to walk the Greyhound and get my puny arm and body to bed. Maybe, with a good night’s rest, this OLD DOLFAN will wake up with a cannon for an arm.

    GOOD NIGHT, Y’ALL!

Congrats to the Lightning, OD. After the Blues beat the Lightning the other night, I felt pretty confident going into 3rd period tied up with your boys, but the Lightning took control and earned the win to tie the season series. Cheers 🙂

As for the OL. They are very young. Not to mention the scheme thrown at them is difficult. They cant engage a lineman more than 1 yard off the los or its a penalty. I was trying to explain this earlier. Running an rpo is the issue. Instead of in a pro set where you have guys either pass pro or firing off the line. They dont know if its a pass or run. Anyway its what i had recently seen in a video

This isn’t…and was never gonna be…a down field offense. They drafted Tua because of his accuracy, brains and ability to manage the pocket and get the ball out. He does not have a cannon for an arm. Everyone knew his arm was average, but he can still make any throw he needs to make…most of which are designed to be short to medium range. I don’t even understand this conversation. It has nothing to do with this team or reality! Lol

Teams are getting pressure against us with 4 rushers most of the time. They aren’t and don’t need to crowd the box. They’re not constantly bringing extra guys. Our OL simply isn’t getting it done. A couple teams brought some extra pressure earlier in the year but that tapered off. There’s no way any OC with half a brain is gonna call a lot of deep throws with this OL, so why do we keep belaboring this?

I heard lindsay didnt practice today. Hes injured

  5. ocalarob says:

Rpo in college lineman can engage 3 yards off the line

How can people be so ignorant?
Im talking football and someone attacks me for my football opinion . So then they get attacked for attacking me. And on and on it goes

So whos at fault for all this disruption.

    • Krishna says:

Who attacked you for what football opinion? I thought we were talking about OL and others are as well. I don’t get it….

  8. Krishna says:

Our is young and maybe that’s been the plan all along. Deal with it and let them grow up together and gain experience.

Early on, our OL was being destroyed by a good pass rush defense and self-destructive…..but they didn’t against the number one defense last week.. We’ll see, still too many self-destructive plays last week, and hope for improvement this week.

And the coaches are young too!

  9. bookman11 says:

ORob, quit using the word attacked. You are unreal. Wow. You attack and are so offended at others who disagree with you

    On this day in 1985
Do I even need to tell you?
It was a Monday Night, the undefeated 72 were on the sidelines as Dan Marino shredded the then 12-0 Bears.
    It was glorious 💪🐬🐧🐽🔥😁

1985? Ah, those were the days. Listening to AFRTS radio broadcast to US forces in army and air force bases in the UK between 1:30am and 4:30am (because the internet was still a sparkle in it’s father’s eye, having not yet been born). Reception was awful and commentary was regularly interrupted by, at the very least, competition from an intermittently stronger radio signal of a Spanish radio station and an opera singer during the night. I listened in the dark, picking up between 50-75% of the commentary on bad nights and most on good nights. Somehow, using one’s imagination and strained hearing, events took on a much more vivid perspective versus seeing the hairs growing out of the centre’s nose as the ball is snapped in ultra-high, mega-data-loaded, 60fps high definition tv nowadays. When the ball bounced off Hampton’s helmet (I had to look it up to check who) I almost shat myself. I knew then that destiny would not desert us on that night. As you say son, truly glorious. I fell asleep with a huge grin on my face at FT.

I copy/pasted the comments from this blog and sent it to Jackson, since he’s finished filming Tolkein’s books and has some time on his hands. He’s mocking up a rough outline of the film and the excerpt from below is from the first day’s rushes.

At least on the D side of the ball, comparing the start of year (giving up 29 points/game) vs last 4 games total points is an improvement.

Everyone seems to be buying in and stepping up and coming back.

  21. Capt. Stubbs says:

Orob where on your back are you getting surgery? I had lower back surgery. I had 3 broken vertebrae and recovered nicely. Now I’m having issues with my arms they have poked, prodded me, shocked me,multiple MRI’s, and thousands of blood tests. Hopefully the 9th they will have some info for me.
    God speed on recovery

    Randy

No one is saying to throw a lot of deep balls, we’re saying there’s no fear in going deep, because of his arm

Once or twice a game would alleviate some of the pressure, but still there’s no fear, so they crowd the box, again and again

Once teams start to figure out they don’t need to rush more than 3 we’ll be dead in the water

The best complimented comparison for Tua has been Brees, who didn’t exactly have a big arm, but got it done with high percentage throws

I’ll admit nothing pisses me off more, than when a QB is inaccurate often. RT had those issues at times, and Dak has had more this year, than I can remember before, so Tua does have that in his favor, he just needs to be deadly accurate more often than not to be a good QB

Can Tua be that accurate for long spells? We’ll see and it will define him

    • Capt. Stubbs says:

I think Tua’s arm strength is fine. I believe he can make all the throws. He doesn’t have enough time in the pocket for any deep routes to develop as been said over and over. No he doesn’t have the arm strength to throw it on a line 40+ yards or so. However using accuracy with more of an arc gets the job done. NEED THE O LINE TO COME TOGETHER

      • Ken says:

I don’t get this arm strength discussion. Tua’s arm is fine. He has shown he can throw it deep, he can throw the out and he can zip into a window just like the TD pass to Waddle last week. This discussion on his arm strength is silly imo

  23. Capt. Stubbs says:

Not sure if any mentioned it already

WHOPPER’S are .37 cents today and tomorrow! Sounds like family night at BK lol
