Game 14 – Jets @ Dolphins

Divisional rival game. Throw out the team records, throw out the last meeting between these two teams and also, throw away all the momentum of the 5 game winning streak. All that is in the past. What remains in front of the Miami Dolphins is a team that knows them backwards and forwards, there are no surprises, no secrets. Unfortunately for the Miami Dolphins, the one thing that the win streak afforded them was consistency. That went out the window when the entire Dolphins RB room tested positive for COVID. More unfortunately, it wasn’t just the RB room. We have potentially lost our star WR Jaylen Waddle as well as our star S Jevon Holland. Both of these players are huge part of what we do on offense and defense respectively. The pass game went through Waddle and the versatility and effectiveness of Jevon Holland doing everything from blitzing, to coverage, to playing near the LOS as a LB has been so valuable to the Dolphins. There is potentially good news as S Brandon Jones is questionable to return from ankle and elbow injuries Sunday. He’s logged 2 limited practices so it’s possible he can suit up. Jones isn’t Holland, but if I had to pick one of our safeties to replace Holland, it would be Jones.

Back to the consistency thing. We need Deiter in there at C and we need him to play well. We’ve had 3 different centers this season though I believe we’ve seen the last of C Austin Reiter who was waived this week. Greg Mancz who we picked up from the Ravens is IR/DFR which means he’s off the IR and designated for return. He’ll likely be the backup this week to Deiter who is wearing a precautionary walking boot. I’m really hoping Myles Gaskin can play. We know his limitations, as do the Jets, but he gives the offense some consistency which is much needed this week. If Waddle is OUT, and it sure looks that’ll be the case, DeVante Parker who is being rested this week and not practicing will hopefully be wearing his Superman costume under his uniform. The WR corps will be Parker, Wilson, Hollins, Ford and Williams. I would imagine TE Mike Gesicki would be in line for a heavy dose of targets this week although it’s difficult to say that with certainty since his targets have been anything but consistent.

Our defense will have to set the tone, and they have been doing that during the duration of this five game win streak. There won’t be the statue-like Joe Flacco at QB this week, it will be the much more mobile, much less experienced rookie QB Zach Wilson. To be fair, Flacco carved up our defense pretty well but ultimately it was his lack of escapability that did him in. Zach Wilson can move, but pressure will cause errors in judgement and poor throws. We need Emmanuel Ogbah, Jaelan Phillips, Andrew Van Ginkel to keep up their relentless pass rush. All of these guys have been killing it the last few games. If S Jevon Holland is OUT, hopefully Brandon Jones can step in and get the job done.

The Jets will likely get a boost for their run game as rookie RB Michael Carter will be coming off IR this week. Carter has played well this season and has been a definite bright spot in their offense. Bad news for the Jets is WR Elijah Moore is on IR and will not be able to play Sunday. He’s been the bright spot in their passing game which now features Denzel Mims who is desperately trying, along with the Jets to get going. The Jets will rely a lot on Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole and Braxton Berrios. Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson have been splitting RB duties but if Michael Carter is able to play, he’s the one to watch out for.

I don’t care what this game looks like on paper. Yes, the Jets are 32nd in points allowed with 397 (30.5 PPG). They are 29th in points scored with 226 (17.4 PPG). The Dolphins have made significant gains in both categories during the 5 game win streak. The Dolphins are now 25th in points scored with 254 (19.5 PPG) and really moved up defensively to 13th with 288 (22.2 PPG). When 2 teams know each other so well, anything can happen, especially after having the win streak snapped by the interruption of the BYE week. What could have been a week to improve our roster by getting healthy has turned out be a disaster with COVID infecting too many important players. It will take a lot for Brian Flores and his staff to stay focused and find a way to overcome the obstacles that have presented themselves this week. Hopefully Flores has this team’s attention and they understand the importance of winning E-V-E-R-Y * S-I-N-G-L-E * G-A-M-E. There are no week’s off, this team must win the rest of their games or the season is done. Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh would love nothing more to end this streak and have the Dolphins join them as another team from the AFC East OUT of the playoffs. This game could be a nail biter, so fasten your seatbelts!!

PS – Some good news most recently from the Stanger camp. Jon has improved since my last update. Things are looking up so all of you BLOG Cardiac Surgeons can rest easy and don’t worry yourselves about transplants and the like. Hopes and prayers to Jon that he continues to improve and get out of the hospital able to resume a normal life.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

    THAT-A-BOY, Gase!!

  46. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

MY take on this game was that is was a typical Jets-Dolphins game that featured SO MANY twists and turns. The addition of Duke Johnson kinda offset the absence of Waddle. NOW, we HOPE, both of them will be ready for New Orleans.

For the remainder of the season, the franchises that BEST HANDLE THE EXPLODING VIRUS SITUATION will have the best chance to succeed. SO I look for some draconian measures that will limit players’ exposure to this shit!!

And those who think it’s party time every day will pay a brutal price for their irresponsibility.

    MASKS ON!!

  47. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I love that I saw us run plays out of the I and offset I today.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It was nice to see some good rushing today but the Jets stink against the run so I’m not sure what to think of it.

      • Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I think it was great that were able to something “we were supposed to be able to do”

I am so often disappointed by this team, they will let the team that hasn’t run all year get 250 on them, let the running QB pass for a 153.8 rtg, etc.

It’s just nice to be able to run when we needed to. I’m certainly not waving pompoms for that Oline. (I think I see improvement though, so kudos there)

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I hear ya. The OL is very young so this is a growing season for them.

  48. New Age's avatar New Age says:

Really ugly win. Tennessee looked awful too so we might get to 9-7 but need a lot better the next three weeks. Hopefully we get everyone back because we’ll need all of them.

  49. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It was good to see Brandon Jones back today and he had a big sack.

  50. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Our D will rattle the shit out of Thill. I count that one as a win.

  51. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Tua didn’t dink and dunk today, but had 2 ints

Seems when he does throw downfield more he has ball security issues

Think I like the dink and dunk version better, but good to know he can get it downfield

Also think it had more to do with Waddle not playing, and having a running game

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Well the pick 6 was a dumb play with that field position on a short out route – you could see it coming. His other pick was off the mark over the middle.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

I thought Parker short-armed it…thought he was going to get hit.

Watched the replay several times and believe that was the case.

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Pick 6 that everyone saw coming! Not a safe play in that situation….clueless call

    Then, the dance….happy dude!

    • manitobafinfan's avatar manitobafinfan says:

Yeah that was a load to get back onto field

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He’s a fun player to watch and brings a lot of energy to the team. He’s definitely a core player.

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Except it’s the wrong kind of energy

He’s made a few plays over the years, that have cost us, because of that energy, one was him getting in the way of X picking up a fumble and running for a td, nullified by Wilkens touching it and being out of bounds

Last year it was a celebration in the EZ after a Preston td, that may have caused an injury

Today his overzealous activity seemed to bring the D down, not his fault of course, but he should act more professional

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I don’t really see it that way. Getting in the way of X picking up a fumble and running for a TD was a mistake, not because of anything goofy.

The celebrations in the endzone after a TD I see all the time in every game. Guys jumping on guys when they don’t know it’s coming. I always cringe when I see that.

Not sure how he brought the defense down?

As a football player he has a non-stop motor and does a lot of dirty work inside. He also does give us an option as a FB blocker or slipping out for a TD catch down by the goal line. That was the 2nd in his career. It gives opponents something to think about.

  54. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

    ^Wilkins’

  55. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

    Didn’t see a lot of X today and that’s a good thing.

  56. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Flores hasn’t lost the team. There’s something to be said about that.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Absolutely! This team is playing hard.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

I think the media and fans anticipate that more than the players actually do. I remember hearing some fans and the media murmuring about that earlier in the season, then I think when we were 1-5 Gesicki teeeted “trust the coaching”.

Games not going well for us this week

  59. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Can’t for life of me see how Wilkins’ energy is a bad thing….I love it, shit happens.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

      I gave 2 examples above

      • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

In other words, instead of using his head he sometimes acts like a bull in a China shop

The play he fucked up X td, it was like he said FU I want the fumble recovery, instead of a team td

I played in a summer basketball league in So Cal in my 20s, we had this guy that played 1 year for the Houston Rockets, dude was 6′ 1″ and could jump to top of the backboard, instead of trying to get any rebounds I’d just box out whoever was on my side or in middle and gave him all I could, instead of fighting him over them. Can’t see Wilkens doing that

Saw a sack today that Phillips just missed, but a teammate got, Phillips was more pissed he didn’t get the sack, than happy his teammate got it

It’s a team sport, you have to play like it

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

        Two bad examples….sorry. lol!

    • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

      Shit happens….live your life “carefully”?

Love the energy and can’t see for the life of me why that’s a bad thing….lol

  60. bailbondmike's avatar bailbondmike says:

Caught up on the blog. Went to game. Was a blast!!! Got nervous on the pick 6 but the defense was balling second half and Duke was feasting.

Tua was not very impressive today especially watching from the stands. The rookie TE looks slow and a wasted pick.

Now drinking on Dania Beach watching the moon rise.

    Beautiful!!!!!

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Agreed on Tua. He looked off, made some really nice throws but it surely wasn’t his best game. I liked some of his running though.

  61. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Ravens went for 2 again with the same results as when they tried against the Steelers

  62. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Harbaugh gives us another gift by going for 2 again down 1 in last minute

  63. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Tua did not have a great game but I did love the play where he lowered his shoulder and bowled over the safety

  64. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

We can’t expect Tua to throw for 80% comp rate, while throwing the ball further down the field

We scored 31 pts today, would you rather his stats were cleaner and we only score 21?

Wonder if they tried going downfield more, because it was the jets, he had more time to throw or Waddle out

    • bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

The ability to run was key. ORob is right. Run the football!!

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

As if ORob invented running the football is a good thing. LOL

      • Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Well, Orob’s not here and I disagree.

Orob knows it’s Tua’s fault because they crowd the box, overwhelming the OL, because of Tua’s weak arm.

For some reason, we are more successful at running the ball. It might have to do with improved line play and some more talent a RB. Maybe???

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

For me it isn’t really about how he should play. I just felt he was off a bit today. The TD to Parker could have been a better throw even though it was a really quick zinger slant. It kind of got on top of Parker who did a nice job catching it and making some moves to get in. But Tua did enough to help us win the game. Not all games are about stats. As we all know once you win nobody cares. 🙂

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

      Very good point Steve

  65. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Fuck the Ravens! Hate that team, glad they lost, arrogant fucks they are

  66. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It was great to run the ball so well today but the Jets are one of the worst teams against the run. Let’s see how we do against a much better Saints defense next week.

  67. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Steve, I think Phillips was pissed at himself he missed the tackle/sack. Not that he wasn’t happy that a teammate still got it. He whiffed. I’d be pissed at myself too.

  68. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Ugly win, but 6 in-a-row it is!

Once we get Waddle and Holland back (please, let’s not lose any more players to COVID or ANY kind of injury), we’re primed to run the table… thanks in part to the emergence of Duke Johnson, who is a great complement to Myles Gaskin.

Continue to play complementary football and if everything falls our way, we just may get a playoff berth this year.

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

PS… our uniforms looked awful today with the color tops on color bottoms. I don’t ever want to see that look again. Bring back the ORANGE jerseys once a year!

  69. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Duke Johnson isn’t going to do this the rest of the season. I hope he does, it was great to see, but I think it was just a nice day for him. He does bring a physical presence we’ve lacked but it was against the Jets in our house where he felt very comfortable

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

He’s got very little wear on his tires over the years, Mike E. He just may surprise all of us.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

He’s never really been anything but a 3rd down back and a depth guy in both stops at CLE and HOU. To expect him to all of a sudden be Lamar Smith is silly

  70. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

This is why I am still pissed at the 1-7 start! Every fricking year since Marino was in his prime, we have to worry about other teams results. The1-7 start still really pisses me off.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m not even paying attention to other team’s and the playoff ramifications. I worry about us winning every game and if we do we’ll see where we stand

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Yeah we’ve all been dealing with that early punch in the gut. The best way to look at it is this team didn’t fall apart like Krishna mentioned earlier. A heavily loaded veteran team might have. This team has so many young players still trying to prove themselves that they’re not even thinking that.

  71. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Piggy’s right about needs at RB, as in scat and power.

My thing with is with Gaskin’s vision resulting in many lost yards.

Duke saw it and hit it hard. He even dead stopped, looked around and got something positive with DL 2-3 yards deep in back field….he has vision.

Also, several times our RBs were hit in backfield.

Lindsay flashed one game and disappeared….wtf?

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I think you can see a big difference between Duke’s vision and Gaskin. Duke saw openings and was also great at setting up blocks. Gaskin tends take one look and go. Don’t get me wrong I really like Gaskin but I see him more as a 3rd down back

  72. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I just want to be clear that I am still really mad at this organization for once again being a mediocre team

  73. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Some day maybe we can start 10-2 or something? Smh @ 6-6, or whatever

  74. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

My favorite uniforms are the classic whites.

  75. CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

Crazy game today. We obviously came out flat and it took us the entire 1st half to get our shyte together. We completely dominated the 2nd half and only the pick-6 gave them any life.

Hello, Duke Johnson!! He just kept breaking tackles. I’m not sure the first defender to make contact with him ever made the tackle. I can’t wait to see if he can bring the same game next week.

  76. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Does anybody have any thoughts on signing CB Damon Arnette to our PS?

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Personally? I think we’re NUTS to have done so. He still has ongoing legal issues, too.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I guess PS money was worth the risk. I’m not a big fan of this move either.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Not particularly fond of it but low risk potential high reward move so I get it

    • CavalierKong's avatar CavalierKong says:

I think this is another Pets-like philosophy we’ve adopted a team. Talent is talent, bring ’em in, see if you can get them to buy into the system and you might score good talent at low cost. Not a lot of risk, you know the baggage they bring with them and are ready to cut bait at any moment. I wouldn’t have signed him though.

  77. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Here’s my question about Duke Johnson and I love the story of him being a Miami native and played at UM. Why does he fall out of favor with teams and has become a journeyman now? His rushing stats are solid not being the main back, but his receiving stats are really good.

You know where I could be going with this, right? Then what about… Deshaun Watson? Yes, that’s a different animal of sorts and we won’t be signing him to our PS, but with the ongoing legal issues? I can’t believe we signed Damon Arnette.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

That is a high risk but possible high reward move for a guy who would be the face of the franchise. Not the same thing. We didn’t invest 3 #1s in Arnette

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree with ya 100%… but I can’t believe we just hired someone who — on video — threatened to murder Raiders fans 2 weeks ago with the guns to show it. And, he’s got two additional legal issues to boot.

I can’t believe our franchise would stoop so low… just sayin’.

      —————
I don’t expect him to be Lamar Smith… but I expect him to be better than advertised. Check out his career stats and how little wear he has on his tires. And he’s an excellent receiver out of the backfield.

We just might… MIGHT have found an outstanding reclamation project. Time will tell, and one game certainly doesn’t make the case for Duke.

What I can ya for certain, though, is that he’s an excellent change-of-pace from Myles Gaskin: BOTH players ate today, and our running game actually looked alright!

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

We only need Duke to be better than Gaskin, he’s a true RB, not a scatback, he’s what we expected from Brown

  81. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

M – not saying Duke can’t/won’t help us. I just don’t think he’s going to be a hero and save our season.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Nobody us expecting that, but after having soft RB play all year it was refreshing to see what we did today

On a week we were just trying to field someone to run it we get our best rushing game of season

I’m with ya, Bro… I wouldn’t count on it, either. That’s why you and I wanted to draft a young RB last year.

But I’d like to give us HOPE! Who knows… maybe Duke can us to the playoffs!

He won’t be the hero we deserve but he could be the hero we need

  82. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Not many teams get consistency from their RBs, we’ve done Ok moving the ball without running it, we just need someone to keep the D honest and have a day like Duke did once in a while

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

I agree with this. However, I’d also like to be multi-faceted, meaning if opponents shut down our passing attack, we can actually have a chance by running the ball. In order to do that, we’ll need consistency from our RB(s) in the future.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And that ALL begins with the O-Line being consistent… which we would know NOTHING about in nearly 2 decades! LOL

I can’t seem to find any info on this at all. If Gaskin passes two consecutive COVID tests, he can play Sunday, right?

i doubt we’ll miss Gaskins, Waddle concerns me way more

Not sure how you can say that. Ahmed is OUT, Lindsay OUT, Duke Johnson has 4 carries, and ZERO receptions

LOL Rob, Duke had a nice day. Keep in perspective it was against the Jets at home in front of a lot of fans excited to see him. I enjoyed, but I’m realistic enough not to expect this magic every week

BRIAN IN NY; I AGREE with you that the Saints’ defense could give our O-Line fits. So far, they’ve completely nullified Tampa Bay’s potent “O.” Saints lead 6-0 with about 2 minutes left in the first half.
    ———-
MF-13; DON’T BE SURPRISED that the Dolphins have shown strong interest in Damon Arnette, who was recruited to play in Buckeyeville by always truthful Urban Liar. Liar, in his earlier years, recruited Aaron Hernandez to play with the Gators when he won two National Championships at Florida. To say that Urban Liar has ethical issues is a vast understatement. Meanwhile I saw Arnette’s father, Damon Arnette Sr., play at FAU in the early ’90’s. He once lit up the Buckeyes for 35 points in an FAU-Ohio State basketball game in Columbus. As far as I know, Arnette senior is a stand-up guy, which is more than I can say for his son.

Of course the current owner of the Dolphins has, and will, do NOTHING to stop the recruitment and signing of Damon Arnette, Jr.

    What a surprise.

  87. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Our D had better be ready to ball next week, because we are going to need them to keep the score tight- can imagine our offense doing much against this Saints D

  88. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Does anybody recall or even know why Coach Flores and Dave DeGuglielmo (<– our O-Line coach in '19) divorced at the end of the season? I haven't the answer, hoping someone here does.

Just exactly HOW was DeGuglielmo to succeed with this roster of O-Linemen?…

Offensive linemen, 2019 Miami Dolphins season
    76 Evan Boehm C
    68 Evan Brown G
    62 Shaq Calhoun G
    70 Julién Davenport T
    77 Jesse Davis T
    63 Michael Deiter G
    67 Daniel Kilgore C
    78 Adam Pankey T
    74 Keaton Sutherland G
    61 J'Marcus Webb T

Dave DeGuglielmo has had MAJOR success in the NFL, but he was let high and dry with this roster of ruin. Damn shame he isn't our O-Line Coach now, with all of the early-round picks on the O-Line we've spent since he left after the '19 season.

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

Methinks the coach had a disagreement with the FO’s talent pickers. And who WOULDN’T?? –Anyway, I’m guessing the man whose opinion counts the most sided with the talent pickers over the coach and, “POOF.” Googs was gone!–Just guessing, though.

  89. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Rob – yeah the Jets have been tenacious on defense, worst defense in the NFL. Enjoy the day, I certainly did

  90. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Why is it that every single time we get a NICE O-Line Coach, our roster of O-Linemen SUCK?

Why is it that every single time we get a roster full of young and upcoming O-Linemen, our O-Line coach SUCKS?

I’m TIRED of seeing this pattern!

We’ve had some of the greatest O-Line coaches over the last two decades: Hudson Houck, John Benton, and most recently Dave DeGuglielmo.

WHY DO WE CONSISTENTLY SUCK ON THE O-LINE?!!

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

MF-13; The answer is obvious to everyone except Steve Ross.

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

We were good with Hudson Houck when Ricky was here.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

But we all know what happened: Ricky ended up carrying the ball in ONE MERE SEASON (392), compared to what Duke Johnson has carried in his entire NFL career (463).

Interesting stat, is it not? 🙂

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

What do you think about the Manny Diaz hire? Probably as good as we can do after Pry left.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Because it’s not true. We’ve had some good O-Lines over the years. Just not recently in say the past decade – Philbin/Gase/Flores has been a struggle since 2012. But look at why that happened. Lots of turnover. Even Jake Long was a one contract #1 pick for us.

We’re also not the only team with OL issues. It’s rampant across the league.

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Tim, we’re the #32 O-Line in the NFL this year according to MULTIPLE sources. Not just PFF, not just ESPN, not just FO… but according to nearly every metric source out there, man.

And yes, our O-Line has been one of the worst in the league dating back nearly 2 decades. Yes… we’ve had some high points (2008 and 2009). But overall, we’ve consistently fielded one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL for nearly 2 decades. I’m not sure that’s even debatable, my man!

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

And yes, we were (by most metrics) the #32 O-Line in the NFL last year.

Dammit, we haven’t been able to run behind it and we damn near got Tua killed. Our leading rusher in ’19 was Ryan Fitzpatrick.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Come on M you can’t make a general statement like that with Tim lurking😉 he’ll go literal on you

  91. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The Saints defense will be a big challenge for us next week. Monday Night!!! I think our defense can contain their offense though. Has the makings of what we’re seeing tonight, low scoring defensive game.

  92. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Brady shown on the sideline after another 3 and out, telling his RB Jones not to go out of bounds, you gotta fight for every yard

Thought he had a 1st, when he caught the pass on 2-7

  93. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

LOL, the Jets defense stinks. Our last 3 games will be against the better defenses in the league.

  94. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

M13, I never said our OL was good this year. You post stuff sometimes like I’m not aware of anything going on. But it’s not accurate that our OL has sucked for two decades. It’s just not. The last decade, yes.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

It’s a general statement, would you say overall our OL over the last 20 years was good, average or mostly crap?

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

From 2000 through 2011 the OL was not consistently bad like it has been recently. They were actually pretty good a bunch of those years. We had many other issues. But I guess a decade of poor OL could make you feel like it’s been forever. LOL

    • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

We’ll have to agree to disagree then. YES, we’ve had a few years over the last 20 where we didn’t absolutely suck (as I mentioned, 2008 and 2009)… and I’ll give ya 2002 and 2003.

My scorecard shows 4 out of 20 seasons our O-Line didn’t absolutely suck… LOL. 😉

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

There is a difference between good, okay and really bad. 2000-2011 were the first two for the most part. 2012-2021 has been the last one. And we’ve churned it a bunch of times. I don’t get it either. LOL

      • mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

Do YOU have any insight as to why Dave DeGuglielmo left after the ’19 season, man? You usually eat these gat damn things! LOL

        I’m asking because I honestly don’t know.
