Neither player added makes the Dolphins a championship team, but hopefully the sum of what we had before this offseason, and what we’ve added during the offseason does add up to a championship team. At first, signing Sony Michel didn’t inspire me. After a couple of weeks, I realized that improving the depth on this team is important. It’s not a matter of is Sony Michel more talented than Mostert or Edmonds, it’s more a matter of we need guys who can carry the rock, and have done so in big situations. Michel fits that bill. Michel doesn’t need to be a superstar, he just needs to be able to step in and play if called upon. Bringing in LB Melvin Ingram fits that same bill. He won’t need to be the primary pass rusher, or edge setter. On the other hand, if we have a team in a bad situation, a 3rd and long, it will be great to have Ingram on the field, especially if it’s in a big spot in a big game, because he’s been there. One thing you can say about most of the guys who have been here is that when it’s been a big spot or big game, we’ve yet to step up and meet the challenge.
I give Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel a lot of credit for how they’ve transformed the roster, and just as importantly, the aura around this team and organization. There is a tremendous amount of positivity buzzing around this team that hasn’t been present in decades. I liked Brian Flores because he seemed like the tough minded guy you wanted to be your coach. One thing he lacked, and it seems severely lacked was vision of the big picture of what the whole team needed to be. Of course we haven’t played a game yet in the Mike McDaniel era, but the philosophy is out there, and it’s tangible. We don’t know exactly what we’re going to be, what our identity will be, but we have a pretty good idea, and I’d bet when the games start, we’ll see that just about all of us at FMU will see what we think we’ll see. Patience will possibly be necessary because implementing a system in today’s NFL isn’t that easy, with the limited amount of team practices, which has been drastically cut down from years past. Still, we’ve seen teams like the Rams with Sean McVay start quickly, and maybe that happens here too.
On 3rd and 1, 4th quarter and against the Bills, game tied with 3 minutes left, I don’t have a problem giving the ball to Sony Michel. He knows how to play the game and understands his responsibilities. He’s a young veteran RB coached by two great coaches too, Bill Belichick and Sean McVay. He’s been on winning teams and knows what it takes to win. I want that on our team, which frankly to this point, clearly doesn’t know what it takes to win. Melvin Ingram too. He will help our defense, he won’t lead our team in any statistical category, but his locker room presence, and presence of mind on the field will be invaluable. We have talent on this team, but these guys need players like this to show them. Sometimes I’m a little slow on the uptake, because the Michel move didn’t impress me on the surface of it. Pair it with Ingram and the light finally came on for me. Sorry, not sorry, we’re all in, and these moves help us to stay in throughout the season. Lean on these guys in big situations and other guys will see what to do and be interchangeable with them as the season progresses. That’s what we need, we need our guys have all the talent in the world to learn what it take to win. We can’t step on the field against the Bills and get blown out every time and expect to win a playoff game later on after the season. I look forward to this season more than any season in quite some time. Hope you do too!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Mike you’re right .They’re my views too. Nice write up.
Thanks!
Michel brings some toughness to RB corp and Ingram is simply a very good player still at this stage of his career. The veteran leadership they bring is invaluable, somethime needed and lacking in spades last year. Couple them to Armstead etc. and this team has to be better.
Mike,
Good article as always. I have no clue if McD is as talented as people think but the positivity is a welcome change. Instead of undercutting the QB for half the season, he has all kinds of support and weapons. Good idea with you #5 QB pick.
We aren’t value picking or pushing everything towards the defense but making an actual potent offense (on paper). I’m also very excited but mainly to see what this coaching staff does with these young players. Can we be the team this year that goes from nothing to the playoffs? Can we finally win a playoff game?!! I hope so but even if not, this team seems better than the last 2 regimes at this point in the season. Let’s hope it transfers to games.
Thanks New Age!
Good article Mike E. And yeah Michel and Ingram are the kind of signings that good teams make. Proven vets on short-term rentals. We may not be a Super Bowl competitor yet, but these guys sure want to act like we are. Makes me feel good about making the playoffs.
Thanks Stanger!
Well presented summary Mike E. I obviously share your enthusiasm.
I cut you some slack on the Sony thing because I think, with the sheer volume of additions to the roster, it’s easy to get numbed. But Sony Michel is a #1 draft pick with Super Bowl experience.
… …
It’s also hard for me to hold in my mind all the new guys. I mean, I remember being thrilled to “steal away” Ced Wilson from the Cowboys, and now I barely remember what a nice fit he’ll be as WR3.
… …
For me, the signing I have to keep reminding myself may actually be the biggest change for us, and one we won’t really appreciate until we start playing games, is the addition of a FB.
We did not even have one on our roster.
But Ingold is a highly rated player and will be very valuable to us.
Because McDaniel really really likes to use the FB in his game plan.
Thanks Naples!
Good oinking write up Mike E
I DO NOT think the Ingram singing is likely to fail for us. These sort of veteran pass rusher signings happen every year and it’s usually a competitive team
That just looking to add a rotational player. Every good team can’t get enough pass rushers. Are a good team? 🤷♂️
But we are gonna need an extra pass rusher if we are
The Michel singing is really interesting, we are only a few years removed from him being considered a prospect equal or almost equal to his college teammate Nick Chubb who’s tearing it up for the Browns
It’s tough to tell with RBs bc they often fade fast. And Michel is more of the speedy type who might not be able to do much but spell the RBs, but that might be enough
Why do you think the Ingram signing will fail for us?
I don’t. I fucked up, i edited my post but I wrote it as a double negative and forgot one of the negatives….lol
I think it’s then-posits. I think it’s likely to be a good signing
Re-read it now….lol
LOL
Thanks Piggy! Not sure if it will be a fail. Like I said, he’s not going to be a stat guy, I think his presence means more than that.
Good write, Mike.
Piggy, I don’t go to the beach much but LBI is the area that I go to when I’m down the shore.
Thanks Tim!
Man it’s hot out. I’m actually rooting for the thunderstorms later this evening.
NICE ANALYSIS, MIKE. But not enough emphasis has been placed on Miami’s inability to plug the remaining holes in the offensive line. We are 1 or 2 injuries away from having one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL for the coming season. And I doubt that adding a couple of guys who get cut by other teams is going to change things all that much.
—————–
Sure hope I’m totally WRONG on that one!!
———————————————————————
MEANWHILE. does ANYONE REMEMBER that the Tampa Bay Lightning were UNDERDOGS to the Toronto Maple Leafs? – – OR does ANYBODY REMEMBER that the TBL also were underdogs to the FLORIDA PANTHERS before the puck drop for the first game of that series??? – – Well it’s all water under the bridge now because`the Bolts just took a 3-0 lead in their series against the Panthers with a convincing 5-1 victory today at Amalie Arena in downtown TAMPA. A Lightning win in tomorrow’s 4th game would advance Tampa Bay to the Eastern Conference Finals agains the winner of the Carolina Hurricanes-New York Rangers series that’s likely headed for 6 or 7 games.
The goal of a 3-PEAT is one step closer to reality!!
———————————————————————-
Let’s hope our new coaches can coach the young guys up on the OL and the new scheme is more productive.
OD — I reserved a Fest ticket for you based on you saying would go last year. Was I right in that?
Nice piece, Mike E., and thank you for the efforts.
Stay the course….a couple of bumps along the way, but psyched on where we are at….
OD
I do worry about an injury to Armstead. Besides X, that’s our most vulnerable spot.. Even Tua has a better backup.
Any team that loses a top player is gonna have issues and have to play through it. Very few teams have superior depth. But we do have some solid depth throughout the roster, just not at every position.
Depends who we’re playing, from weeks 5-12 any injury we get we’ll be fine, if we get one at the start or end it could be the difference in a W/L
Wow I was really a few margaritas into my Sunday with that 2;55 post
Lol..that’s what I was thinking….it was a wtf moment. 😂
Jaelan Phillips has said he wasn’t overly happy with his rookie season. Gotta like that because he actually had a nice rookie season. He’s hungry to play even better this year and this guy has a massive upside.
OD – Tough crowd sir. We did bring in 2 starters on the O-line. Like I’ve said many times, they’re not going to scrap the 2 young OL we drafted early in 2020 and 2021 (Jackson and Eichenberg). Teams don’t do that, they coach them up, and we have brought in a number of coaches who have O-line experience, as well as a new O-line coach. We already had Robert Hunt who I believe has pro bowl potential at RG.
LT – check (Terron Armstead)
LG – check (Connor Williams)
C- ? Michael Deiter
RG – check (Robert Hunt)
RT- ? (Winner of battle between Jackson, Eichenberg and possibly 2 others). Whoever wins that battle will be better than they were last year and hopefully good enough.
I have no idea but I would not be surprised if Eichenberg is at LG with Williams at C, Jackson at RT and Deiter as a backup C/G.
That would be a disaster
I think it’s going to be
LT – armstead
LG – Williams
C – deiter
Rg – hunt
Rt – Eichenberg
Connor Williams is a huge asset bc he played LT in college at a high level and both guard positions at a high level for the cowboys. So if there is an injury he can be moved around. He is even listed as backup center on our depth chart
And we have Kindley & Jackson as depth
I’m sorry, but I think giving up on young OL is a disservice to the team and I love that we brought in 2 OL and JUST 2 OL….and very good 2 OL
I think Jackson will be the RT, but if they don’t like Deiter, (despite the fact that every other NFL team asked about Deiter this offseason), Tim might be right that Williams could be the C, and then Eichenberg would be the LG and Jackson at RT.
I think we are not done yet on bringing in FA talent at OL
Eichenberg playing LG between Armstead and Williams is not the same as playing between Jackson and Deiter or one of the other three centers. The same with Jackson at LG last year when he moved inside and Eichenberg moved to LT. There were no proven OL on the team last year other than Jesse Davis, and he’s not a top tier starter. It seems we all agree Hunt is the best young OL.
YOUNG STANGER: I’ll have a reply for you re; the Fest in a in a few days.
Piggy’s Pre-Memorial Day 2022 Predictions
Dolphins: 17-0 in reg area season. Win the Super Bowl. Average margin of victory 42 points.
Bills: Josh Allen regresses and decides to retire by October. In appreciation of his efforts the people of a Buffalo name a sewage plant after him.
Patriots: Belicheat tries to teach young Mac Jones the way of the Sith, but young Mac turns on him and decides to play within the rules. Since he sucks, he throws 32 interceptions to 7 TDs. All 7 TDs are against the jests
Jets: By the 3rd week of the season die hard Jet fan Rick Astley circulates a memo titled: “You did it! You made me give you up!” Having no chance at fielding a competitive team, the highlight of the season is when Kyle Wilson finally shaves.
Let’s go Dolphins!
🏆🐬 🐷🐬🐷🐬🐷🐬🐷🐬🐷🐬🐷🐬🐷🏆
LOL!!
works for me, except I want a couple of those picks to go to us!!!
The TDs all go to the jests. We get about a dozen of those picks
thnx Piggy
hey man, is it just me or have you been doing a lot of traveling in the last year or so?
not prying and no comment is necessary … just seems you’re having a lot of fun … which is great of course
I wouldn’t say a lot of traveling
My first flight in 2 years was in March when I went to Seattle
But last year I took a lot of long weekend trips when it was warm. Stuff within driving distance and I’ll do that again this year
For instance this weekend I’m going to ashbury park for medial day but that’s only a 90 minute drive from me. I think I’m,entioned Canada a couple of days ago, but that won’t happen now now that I’m booked for ashbury park
Last couple of years I’ve mentioned a few other places like a lot of Long Island beaches, Rhode island, CT, NJ.
I went to GA near near jeckly island during covid too – but I drove
I was planning on going to DC to meet my brother before his Australian adventure but now we might have to out that on hold
So yeah I’m taking long weekends a lot of the time. I work for myself so I can afford to do that. In my industry you bill for a phone call and an email. So I can still make money on a Friday afternoon when I’m traveling
That’s awesome.
Ken, I know you’re down on our OL and some of the young guys, but like Mike said we’re not moving on from them at this time. We need to see them in the new system with new coaches in their 2nd and 3rd seasons. Not many young OL coming out of college are ready to go right away. This group needed a veteran presence and they added that with Armstead and Williams. If the coaching staff is not overly concerned about them, I won’t be either at least at this time. 😉
But your lineup has them all out of position on top of the lack of talent
Nobody is out of position. Williams always worked at center in Dallas. Jackson has always said the side doesn’t matter, he’s played all over the line in his college career. Maybe Eichenberg is not a tackle. I don’t think all OL are defined by position or one side or the other. I’ve seen it mix and match many times over the years. I’m not saying Deiter can’t be the center, just wouldn’t be surprised if the starting 5 was not what we pencil in.
Just because someone has worked at another position doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t be out of position. Williams is an OG. That is his best position. Playing OC is not his best position and it screws up the rest of the OL
Just got done killing another queen hornet, the second one in 5 years. Knocked it out of the air with a spare 1″x2″ (about 30″ long) piece of wood, then squashed the hell out it on the ground with the piece of wood after it was stunned. Thankfully, it was on the 2nd floor where I’m doing some remodeling and now it’s nothing more than a splat of bug juice mixed with sawdust.
This one was close to 4″ long, geez! In the back of my mind, I’m wondering if it was a ‘murder hornet’. I hate those mofoz.
If they’ve any bigger you should consider riding it
And if this guy shows up – kill him, no questions asked

M13, are you in the Stroudsburg area?
———-
Nah, man. I’m about 1 hour west of Stroudsburg.
Oh okay. Right, you’re in the Bloomsburg area right?
I’m in that general vicinity, yup.
I know people who went to school there.
Ken, Deiter locking down the center position and Williams at LG is the best case scenario, we just don’t know yet. I don’t care about the configuration, just play better. 🙂
The scheme on offense is going to be completely different. That’s a lock. A FB is going to be a part of it. More under center pro set type stuff. McDaniel is not going to reinvent anything. He’s going to run what he believes in. It’s the Mike Shanahan offense. Run the football, spread the field laterally with boots, waggles and motion/movement, and set up down the field passing plays.
I still believe we will add another in FA we have the cap space for a reason
I wouldn’t be surprised by that.
Haven’t seen Dbolt here in some time. I just KNOW that he and I have come across one another back when I lived in Bloomsburg! He worked at the Denny’s there, and I used to go there all the time in my college days. What a small world!
Don’t get me wrong, Dbolt and I follow one another on Twitter and he’s all good. I just find it crazy that back in the 90s, we probably knew one another in some capacity before we reunited here as Phin fans.
Same is probably true of Prof Lou… we probably ran into one another once upon a time before reuniting as Phin fans here.
So here in PA, we have predominantly Eagles and Steelers* fans, obviously. We also have G-Men and stej fans, due to them being our next-door neighbors. However, there are so many Dolphins fans up here as well.
Only rationale I can come up with? Dan Marino went to the University of Pitt.
M13, Dbolt and D have been missing in recent times. I hope all is well with them.
All is well with Dbolt… as I said, he and I follow one another on Twitter. But D? Yeah, man… he’s been MIA for some time. I hope he’s alright, too.
RGS (Rich) has been MIA all draft season… I hope that cat is alright as well.
If you were not a Dolphins fan but as an objective NFL fan, what would you think of our roster?
That’s a difficult task that you ask for us Phin fans, for REAL! LOL
As objective as I can possibly be to my Dolphins blood, the only concern I would have is the RT position. If that is remedied by coaching (and it CAN be done!), this Offense is going to be difficult to stop… minus a ‘power-back’. Tua is going to be that guy we saw at Alabama, now fully healed with the ability to chuck the rock 60 yards (all air) down the field.
Our Defense should be a top-5 unit in the league with its continuity and additions (see Melvin Ingram and Channing Tindall), coupled with the continued emergence of second-year players like Phillips and Holland. A fully healthy Raekwon Davis is set to emerge as well.
Don’t want to sound like a ‘homer’, but this roster — on paper — has all the makings of a team that can not only make the playoffs… but also go deep in the playoffs.
*knock on wood* Keep the injury bug away from us.
I agree! It’s not that hard to do. The offense for the most part has been totally revamped. The defense is growing as a unit.
The Fins have a weenie arm QB, can’t run the ball, no OL, TEs that can’t block, WRs are always hurt, the D is mostly soft can’t stop the run
, kicker missed the most kicks in league last year, punter is too old, HC is a rookie, DC won’t be able to stand on his own 2 feet
LOL
That’s pretty close. We haven’t done shit in 20 years, last 4 HCs were dysfunctional, rookie HC, QB that hasn’t shown anything per the talking heads, bad OL, desperate to get speedy WR, defense has looked terrible against the Bills for several years.
Some good vets, smart coach, decent middle of the road team but not there yet. Need to see more before I’ll jump on board. That’s wha6t I’d say if I was an outsider.
New Age, the potential of the Dolphins roster on paper just like the other AFC teams is just as good. Other than the Chiefs and okay put the Bills in there, nobody in the AFC has shown any consistency. I think we’re right there in 2022.
Also acting like Tyreek Hill leaving the Chiefs can be replaced easily and is no big loss is ridiculous. The guy has been a 6 time pro bowler and 3 time all-pro since he entered the league. He’s one of the best playmakers in the game and now that’s he’s in Miami people are trying to water him down.
Hill was great before Mahomes. Just saying. 😉
This is probably the most talented roster we’ve had since the early 2000’s
Barring catastrophic injury, like losing your goaltender who was playing out of his mind, anything less than the payoffs is going to be a disappointment IMO.
I agree and think there was some type of payoff or bounty to take out the goalie😉
LOL, I was going to correct it, but I didn’t want Tim to yell at me. 😉
Unfortunately, almost no one but Blues fans care that the Avs just stole this series from us. Like Berube said, just look at Kadri’s reputation. They are supposed to be the best team in the league and they gotta pull that shyte? I’ll be rooting for the Lightning once the Avs finish us off.

___________________________________________________
We have added some talent to a team which nearly made the play-offs a few times, but routinely folded under the first signs of pressure when it mattered, and has no “muscle-memory” of winning big games at all. This team will be led by a rookie HC, who has yet to prove he can walk the walk. Nowhere near ready to take the cheese here. (I’m sending a few crates of crackers and some red wine to the Fest though, as the FMU-ers are gorging on it! 😉😁)
I understand your concerns. But the past doesn’t play a role in this current team’s future.
2nd undefeated season with a Super Bowl ring at the end in NFL history.
You going to be in Key West on the 6/19 weekend?
I’ll be in town from the 17th to the 20th
I’ll check. I have a concert somewhere around around then.
Phelon didya manage to catch that post about the fantasy writers from 2 days ago? I have 3 authors you may like to explore.
I saw the posts – Who are the authors?
MF13,
You ever hang out at Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland?
Check out how they ranked our OL, higher than QB
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ranking-2022-nfl-offenses-a-new-team-takes-the-crown-after-chiefs-packers-trade-star-wrs/
And of course 65 yr old Brady has a top rating as does the Bucs O
If this is how our O ranks, 19, we’ll be a playoff team this year
Tua getting a 3 and Hurts getting a 4 is ridiculous though
I’d give Tua a 3.5 as bare minimum and probably should be a 4, or at least he will be a 4 once we see him in this new O
Some of you are really underestimating our team
I think the Dolphins might be so good in 2022, they give us two Lombardi Trophies
🐬 = 🏆 🏆
Look how good Buffalo has been the last 2 years, and their playoff diaper is still wet
I’d settle for 1 or seriously even a playoff win
Me thinks we will get that playoff win
Honestly, more than anything I want sustained success
So if we are a legitimately competitive team in the postseason – that’s all I want
If we can just get to that place when you are perennially in the post season, we are gonna win a super bowl
But for the last 20 years we have been perennially around .500 with a few horrible seasons sprinkled in, and then a “rebuild” and sometimes we make a run at being the 6th/7th wildcard team in every few years
I think a first year coach can get you over that hump.
It’s time
It is time
What will be fresh is having a decent run game.
Wonder if they will sign Reuben Foster? THey had him in for a visit.
Our new O will be pretty boring at times, just as the 49ers was at times, don’t let some of the writers fool you
It will however be more productive
Along with a better running game will be more O plays and TOP, but points a game won’t be much, if we’re more ball control
The D should love it
Nice write up mike. I do think this team has playoffs potential but I’ve thought that many times. I need to see it to believe it now.
so he gets to DJ?

I don’t know if you ever played starwars battlefront II but Bossk is one of the characters you can play in the online version
And he has all these quotes that are just super creepy
If you were worried about monkeypox, this might make you less so.
“Dr. David Heymann, who formerly headed WHO’s emergencies department, said the leading theory to explain the spread of the disease was sexual transmission among gay and bisexual men at two raves held in Spain and Belgium.”
Don’t take a blistered dick in your butt and you’ll be fine
But I don’t have eyes in the back of my head. Oh wait a minute 🤔
“Xavien Howard has been the best cornerback in the NFL over the past two seasons when lined up in press coverage, judging by PFF coverage grade. Those grades are a play-by-play recording of every snap in coverage before they are translated to a 0-100 scale. Howard has given up some yardage into his coverage on those plays, but he has also more than made up for that. Passes targeting him when he has been in press coverage over the past two seasons have generated a lowly 42.2 passer rating, less than half the average of all passes leaguewide.”
— Sam Monson of PFF
He surely benefits from our D scheme, when it’s working properly
For years we saw cheats players go to other teams and stink it up, then back to the cheats and business as usual
Think that’s because there are too many Jeff Ireland’s out there, that think all you have to do is acquire talent and not system fit players
X was already very good before Flores brought our current scheme to us. He made the pro bowl in 2018 and was also 2nd team all-pro.
Some sound advice there Sonny! 🤣

Yes. I think I have posted that before. I love robot chicken
I love the temple of doom theme….lol

I love that one too!
Ravens signed LB with unfortunate name
Zach Sieler was a gem we plucked off of the Ravens PS a few years back. That dude is a good player.
On paper. It doesn’t always end up that way. Just being in the AFC is a tough schedule. Lots of good teams with playoff potential. Let’s hope the Dolphins are one of them. 🙂
It’s kind of crazy that the bills, Patriots and Dolphins are all top 5
But the jests are not
I feel like maybe PFF is overlooking that the jests don’t play themselves twice
ESPN labels the safety position as Miami’s biggest hole on the roster:
“The Dolphins’ weakest position remains safety. Their best player at the position, strong safety Eric Rowe, is in the last year of his deal.”
Yeah okay. Someone at ESPN is not doing their homework.
They really didn’t even lift a finger on that research
It’s unreal how ignorant some of the people are that cover sports.
This was one of the comments from that article.
“That right there proves that the ESPN pundits do not do their homework, Holland and Jones might be the best pair of young safeties in the league. Big swing and miss ESPN.”
Oh that’s rich. Damn
lol, unreal

Just sayin’… if y’all have a problem with the sports media (*raises hand*), y’all should have an even BIGGER problem with the American political media (MSM) at large (*raises hand*).
The sports media have too many teams to cover and just throw stupid shit out there because they don’t really know enough about all the teams.
The political media all have their personal agendas and basically stick with their ideology regardless of anything that happens. I don’t watch or listen to political pundits anymore because it’s so obvious where their bias is. My lack of trust in them to acknowledge the truth is a waste of time. That goes for both sides.
Son, in your words, anyone sleeping on our defense will experience “pain”. 🙂

Any Festers with #54 jerseys, fly the flag for Zach!
That’s the 1 jersey I have wore it to last years fest
That is pretty surreal. I’ve been struggling with which new jersey I should get for myself. I got my wife a throwback Waddle last year and really wanted a throwback Holland for myself but they don’t have one.
Just yesterday I was going through jerseys and trying to decide on a new one. I have a window with two tabs up, an orange Zach and an aqua Zach. I guess that is my sign. Now I just have to decide on the color…
If he doesn’t get in with the support of a giant ape, we may as well accept he’ll never get in?

I think the espn writer also writes for nfl
After Emmanuel Ogbah and Christian Wilkins, there isn’t a clear third starter on the defensive line. The Dolphins have enough bodies to rotate plenty, but this isn’t an area of strength.
Guess Davis and Seiler are chopped liver
He did say this though
It’s remarkable how quickly New England’s defense has decayed since a great 2018-19 run. This looks like the worst Patriots Week 1 group on paper in about a decade.
Wouldn’t be surprised, if the jets finish ahead of the cheats
This is only Saleh’s second year, but general manager Joe Douglas was hired in June 2019. This roster is Douglas’ vision fulfilled, in its best shape in years, with few obvious holes. The Jets just need Wilson to pan out.
Steve did you and I hang out and play pool at D&B last year? Are you the one Sonny was getting jealous of? I was high as a kite and had a beer buzz going too.
Yeah, yeah that’s it, I’m the one that kicked…
Didn’t go to D&Bs, was in Miami visiting friends from HS, that I mostly hung out with after HS
Whoever it was did kick my ass in pool so you could have passed it off. LOL
It might have flown for a couple of hours…until someone rated me out or I would’ve actually had to play you at another fest
I used to be fairly good, but haven’t played much the last 20 years and mostly suck now
Ah, wasn’t you then. LOL I drunkenly remember upsetting Sonny because I “ignored him” all night, there was someone I hadn’t met at D&B that night and I spent a good amount of time playing pool with him.
If it was you, go ahead and give me shit for forgetting, but let me know who you were. LOL!
Rock – You we’re playing pool with Krishna.
LOL….yes I kicked your ass pretty good…..and I especially enjoyed beating Mike E….lol.
Of course, now all the pleasure is gone since you were so wasted. Maybe, I was too…lol.
When I see Jevon Holland in videos, he’s got that world is my oyster look in his eye, like he’s made it, then he talks and acts like he’s got a lot of work to do…just a refreshing personality/player to have
On the other end of the spectrum, when I see the agenda driven me first Omar in videos…just wonder when he’s literally going to put his ass clown hat on an blow the party thingy that unroll as you blow it🥳
^
The difference between the Snowman and the Braided coconut, Steve, is one shows you how good he is through his actions and the other has to tell you. QED.
LOL
Cedrick Wilson Jr. was picked up during free agency, and he can fit the bill as a gadget player, during his time with the Cowboys, they used him increasingly on punt returns every season, he has completed every pass he’s thrown, all five of them, and one for a touchdown.
https://phinphanatic.com/2022/05/24/can-miami-dolphins-ever-enough-gadget-players-offense/
I’m more interested with Ced being our PR than gadget plays, but if SF is any indication we’ll be running lots of trick plays

HC Mike McDaniel Tuesday May 24 media availability thread

Coach on the Melvin Ingram signing – In conjuction with the scouting department, Chris, myself, the scouting staff felt very excited to have the opportunity to add him to the team. Been in big games. Great guy for a young team can be very impressionable and a play maker to boot.
Coach says Jon Embree was the originator of the orange jersey idea. Players don’t give critique and feedback on the play list because the argument is … if you have a gripe, become the practice player of the day.
Coach talking about QB evaluation is must listen. Will share later, but it’s an in-depth look at some the variables that go into it.
McD gives a great explanation of the value of the FB, a position he’s seen in his O’s since Day 1 of install on his first job in 2005
1 advantage of a FB is that you have a backfield player that can give you different #’s on each side of the C depending on the direction he goes.
Asked abotu Tua, Coach said the word that comes to mind is instictiveness. How Tua thinks about the game of football through the lens of the QB position, it’s hard to describe, but Coach McDaniel says he now has a better feel for what people said about Tua and that instictivenes
Coach on cross-training on the OL.
There’s not a greater way to learn the intricacies of the offense than starting with different alignments and assignments.
Sorry that was
Wilkins must of been jealous of Seiler getting the orange jersey so he busted his but and got it himself.
2 birds with 1 stone
How to get the players to STFU about the practice music and to get them to practice hard
You are right!
He seems proud to be wearing it.

Ima just state this as an undisputed fact (I know those don’t exist anymore) Tua is a better QB now than Chris Simms NEVER was.
Saw that last night on YouTube, but didn’t watch it
He’s always got that sour puss look on his face, like someone is disputing him, even when he’s the only one talking
IGBO SIGHTING
If Hill and Waddle don’t make Iggy better, nothing will. Good thing for Iggy practicing against them is it will make 2/3’s or more of the receiver’s he will face in the NFL seem slower.
They are not just WR’s with speed but also tops in route running combined with elite speed.
LOL
makes you look like a freaking linebacker
Did I get stuck in the Spam filter???????
???????
3rd times the charm I guess
Rock, I guess Tua was out sick today, but who is this Skylar Thompson they keep talking about?
“Thompson had his share of impressive throws in team drills, notably a nice hook-up with Jaylen Waddle over the middle, a 60-yard touchdown to Braylon Sanders with an accurate throw some 45-50 yards downfield under pressure, and lastly a nice throw over the middle to tight end Mike Gesicki in the final team drill of practice.”

I may have to check him out and post some of his highlight video’s. 😉
He’s a practice squad guy that won’t be here next season.
IDK he’s got an IT factor
Coldplay?
When writers say stupid shit about teams you know they don’t watch the games.
I used to read the preview magazines before the season starts, couldn’t wait to see what they wrote about us, then realized all they do is parrot the beat writers of each team
A lot of these national guys still do that today, sometimes they get an old report, think that’s what happened in the article about S being our weaklink, it was going into 2021
The only problem with that is he said Rowe was in the last year of his contract and that wasn’t the case heading into 2021. That’s the case this year.
He’s a practice squad guy that won’t be here next season.

lol
Bridgewater is here on a 1-year deal. I think Thompson becomes our #2 next year.
If that’s the plan, it’s a risk to put him on the PS. We’d have to keep 3 QBs on the 53.
The most recent PC with McDaniel sheds some light into his football knowledge and how he views the game. It’s on the official site.
I’m trying to post an interview of Myles Gaskin from the Miami Dolphins YouTube page. Says I’ve already posted it here, but it’s not showing up. Why is that?
And NO, I don’t believe I’m being censored, seriously. For whatever reason, it’s just not being posted.
I’ve gotten you’ve already posted that a bunch of times over the years. Try writing something you have not said along with the link.
It’s just the pure link, period. I didn’t add anything in terms of my own words.
I see Wyoming had a problem earlier with a link he was trying to post.
That’s why I said add some words to it, it might help.
I had trouble earlier too MF13
Yessir, I noted that a minute prior, my friend. Thank you!

THANKS, Tim! Your advice worked!

We had another horrible school shooting in Texas today. It was an elementary school and 14 kids are dead and one teacher is dead. The shooter was an 18 year old HS student and he was killed. SMH
Our society is in outright decay. Can’t discipline kids today for fear of ‘parental abuse’. Drugs are rampant in nearly every school. Teachers are teaching children of sexuality in fucking kindergarten and the government is behind it/them.
I know you, Tim, don’t want to hear it, but this country is moving far away from Godly principles… and by design. When parents live in fear of disciplining their own kids, something is fundamentally wrong with that society.
I’m not going deep into it but people with Godly principles have done a lot of evil shit forever. That’s not the problem and I don’t know what drives young dudes to do this sort of thing and I don’t claim to know how to prevent it.
Discipline begins at home, with family values. Unfortunately, said ‘family values’ have been replaced by governmental regulations and a media that no longer puts out quality TV programming surrounding the family.
In short, what we digest (TV, internet, movie, music, etc) becomes ingrained in us. Our children have been digesting BS for far too long now. It’s truly become a “me, me, me!” world, instead of thinking about others and the lasting impact they have on others.
And some people are just not wired right.
The shooter killed his mother than drove to the school and shot young kids and a teacher.
😦
The internet and social media, how they are interwoven into our society and impacting it, how to manage their influence with our youth, how they have changed what being young looks like, how they directly impact growth, growing up, and the transition into adulthood.
But this sort of thing also went on before the internet and social media was prominent. Columbine was 1999.
There is a big difference between one offs and a new state of being.
Agreed with CavKong.
Hollywood had decided to end cigarette smoking in their movies, huh. Yet, they CONTINUE to depict gun violence in their movies and video games.
Yeah, there’s a problem there… and they want to ban #2A. Any questions?
That I agree with. I’ve been saying this for years.
AMEN!
The toxicology results came back for Dwayne Haskins. His BAC was .24 and the cops have figured out he was partying hard at a club before the accident. Not a good condition to drive in and keep in mind he was out of gas on the side of the road at like 6 AM. Also had Ketamine in his system.
He’s an NFL QB….. why not just get a car and driver?
24 years old.
I don’t remember, did we ever hear anything about them not having a phone or something? Why wouldn’t you just call someone?
He called his wife…. that part has been in the articles. Also in the new one I read is that he was driving with a “female companion.” But who knows — could have been a cousin to take care of the rental car.
These kids were 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders. 😦
I don’t think it was white supremacy as his name is Salvador Ramos. He killed either his mother or grandmother first then went to the school. Ugh…
Agreed, I doubt it was another liberal, democrat, nazi white supremacist in this case… at face value. But who knows? It’s too early to determine anything.
I think it was young kid with a lot of problems who wasn’t wired right. I’ve watched a lot of crime shows based on real stories and a lot of the time the parents know their kid isn’t right and no matter what they tried to do to get them help it didn’t work.
It’s deeply saddening, my man. 😦
It’s awful at the highest level. 😦
Kids 8-10. So horrific you have to start thinking mental illness. But the shooter is dead, which means we may never know. Won’t be a trial.
Why wouldn’t there be a trial? *AHEM*, wrongful deaths? The system will probably go after the parents. And if the gun used was one of the parents’, they’ll be sued into oblivion by either the state or via class-action lawsuit.
Nice world we live in.
Then ya have the CLOWN Alex Jones, who merely opined on the Sandy Hook tragedy… and he lost $50M via lawsuits. There’s $$$ to be made via tragedy, and lawyers are sue-happy to control the mess, sadly.
Way-too-early Dolphins 53-man roster projection

https://sports.yahoo.com/way-too-early-dolphins-53-161541811.html
He has us keeping 10 LB’s…. that’s a lot.
We’re not keeping 10 LBs. He also has 54 players listed.
LOL
This is an amusing article. Atlanta is trying to prop up their shutdown corner Terrell by listing the WRs he shut down. It has Waddle listed as 0 yards. Only problem is according to the stats Waddle had a decent game (7 rec, 83 yds)and was covered by another CB 87% of the snaps. The bonus is I bookmarked the site that had coverage numbers as a useful tool for future arguments, lol.

I’m not going to name the players but this is what our roster breakdown could look like.
OL 9
TE 3/4
WR 6/7
QB 2
RB 5
DL 6
LB 7/8
DB 10/11
ST 3
Covid is over mass shootings are back
Nothing is over. We’re just piling on. We live in a crazy world.
If you want to get in touch with Ricky Williams…. look up Errick Miron in the phone book. He had his name legally changed about a year ago.
He’s a unique dude.
Why do that, to make Ricky’s phone number (and home address) public?
Can’t a man or woman just live in privacy, without the media pounding down their doors?
Ricky talked about it in the interview. He changed his last name to his wife’s name out of respect and him being a celebrity. The last name is hers. The first name is what it always was. As to privacy — he was more than willing to talk about it. Seems on him.
It’s already a public story. That happens to celebrities. You and I can stay off the grid in a lot of ways. Not so easy for popular people. Millions of people don’t know who we are. Millions of people know who Ricky Williams is and that’s probably why he changed his name.
We’re going to see more remote education and people doing less big crowd functions. Humans adapt but it doesn’t happen overnight. It will never be perfect but you’re going to see a change in behavior in time.
^
This touches somewhat on what I was talking about earlier with the internet and social media. My original post on the subject was more in response to MF13s comments on the current state of our society, not necessarily a comment singularly on school shootings.
I think school shootings have become mass shootings because of the internet, etc. People have a blueprint, more incentive, and a host of other reasons. But I agree with you in that some people are wired wrong, and regardless of influence, it takes a person being wired wrong to do what that kid did today (I know he’s 18 and technically an adult).
I personally believe our society is going through a major shift because of technology. It’s inevitable and required. The fact is, kids growing up today have a completely different experience than they did when we grew up. The way we interact, the things we can do, the resources available, the list goes on and on. Our society needs to, and will, adapt, but it’s a process, and not necessarily a fun or comfortable one.
Who knows how long it will take, but I think we’ll be seeing a new ‘normal’ every few years or so for the foreseeable future.
To touch directly on what you say in your post, if I were raising young kids in today’s world, my wife and I would have a long conversation about it and we’d likely agree to do something similar to what my youngest did for high school for the entire educational period, at the very least. She learned remotely 3 days a week and went to school 2 days a week her Jr and Sr years.
Those last two sentences were a mess.
I was saying what my youngest daughter did for her last two high school years, we’d want to do that for any younglings school years from the beginning.
Kong, well said and I get what you’re saying. Nature adapts to what it takes to survive.
It’s already happening. Some people don’t go to stores and malls to shop anymore, they use Amazon or other delivery services. You can watch sports and other entertainment on all types of media devices. But if you want to go to the beach, see the Grand Canyon etc. you have to pick your ventures and deal with the fate of the obstacle course that is life. Sad but true.

If that’s the case — that he publicly advertised his name change — then alright. Guess I missed that interview.
I respect one’s ability to have privacy. Seems to me you’re trying to keep Ricky from having his privacy, that’s all.
I’m just surprised that Ricky didn’t say what you said, to just look in the phone book to find him, his address, and his home phone number. That way, people could stalk him.
Have enough for Errick Miron to know he will do what he wants. He took on his wife’s name cause his celebrity gave him more attention than her and was proud of it.
You can look up a name, address or phone number and find out who lives where very easily. When you’re not a celebrity not many people are going to look you up.
HE WANTS A PRIVATE LIFE! What’s so hard to figure out?
And “Seems to me you’re trying to keep Ricky from having his privacy”? He didn’t have to talk about it in the interview. This wasn’t some TMZ thing. So basically saying you are wrong about both my intentions and Ricky’s.
I give up, Stanger. You must be right.
Thanks M13,,,, II at least am convinced I am. So now there are two of us.
