Wow! How long has it been since I’ve posted an image of Dolphins vs any other NFL team? One day you’re sweating in your car in New Jersey with the A/C blasting because it’s nearly 100 degrees outside (most likely 130-140 degrees in the car), and the next, the Dolphins are playing their first preseason game. Unbelievable! If you’re like me, and know most of you are (at least in this regard), you can’t wait to see this team suited up and playing football again. You want to see the dynamic between Tua and Hill, you want to see if the offensive line is for real, after all the personnel changes and position changes. You want to see this defense performing like they’ve been together for a while (they have!). So what are some of the things I’m interested in seeing besides the obvious ones I’ve already outlined? I’ll tell you.
I know WR’s Cedrick Wilson and Preston Williams have been stuffed down the depth chart, and some fans have already written them off. I’d love to see a healthy dose of both of those guys. WR’s 6’5 225 who can run, and make contested catches don’t get discarded unless they have personal issues, injury issues, or both. Williams has had both, but his salary of $1.3M is totally palatable if he’s got his head on straight and he’s healthy. We brought in Cedrick Wilson from the Cowboys because he had a great season with the Cowboys playing the greater majority of snaps in the slot. Keep in mind that last year, we had our TE Mike Gesicki in the slot often but in McD’s offense, that likely won’t be the case, so Wilson Jr. has a good shot of seeing lots of playing time. He’s a veteran who knows how to run routes, find soft spots and make plays. I hope “EZ” Erik Ezukanma is as great as fans hope he is, but until the lights are on, don’t put him ahead of Wilson Jr. just yet.
The depth at DL will be tested somewhat with the release of DE Adam Butler, who did not pass his physical. Porter Gustin (formerly of the Browns), and Owen Carney Jr. a rookie out of Illinois are the backups behind Emmanuel Ogbah, who will probably be quite limited in his snaps for obvious reasons, so we’ll get a look at if what we have is sufficient, or if we need to address this with another FA pickup. In the offensive trenches, we’ll probably see a couple of plays (if that) of our starting O-line, which is LT Terron Armstead, LG Liam Eichenberg, C Connor Williams, RG Robert Hunt and RT Austin Jackson. Besides the surprise of Connor Williams at center, this how I expected our O-line to be from the get-go.
I don’t think preseason game 1 will reveal all that much, but I’m still interested to see which RB starts, who gets the most action and in what situations. Which back gets the short yardage carries, which back is in on 3rd down etc. To me, the most important thing is staying injury free. If you have bad game, fix it and do better next game, just don’t get hurt. I would like to see Noah Igbinoghene show something positive, anything really. Just give me a pass break up, an INT, a strong tackle or forced fumble, give me something. We all hope the new O-line doesn’t resemble last year’s line at all. I’m curious to see Teddy B and Skylar Thompson, who should both get lots of playing time. Oh yeah, I want to see our offense with a FULLBACK!!! I want to see Hunter Long make a bit of a splash, show us a lil sumpin’. Will Durham Smythe be the next top 10 balanced TE in the NFL? How will our ST’s look with so many big departures and new additions? Will Mostert be an electric returner and will Hill get some action back there too? Lots to see tomorrow at 7:30PM if you can watch it live, or Sunday, 8/14 at 7AM Eastern time on NFLN. Enjoy the game! Football is BACK baby!!!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

The Offensive Line Skeptics already have something to talk about.
Iggy took out the 2 other tacklers
Who was that CB?? #35
Dick Cutmefirst
D’Angelo Ross
To reiterate what BBMike stated, Larnel Coleman, IMO, needs to develop a LOT. As is, he’s not a legit NFL backup LT.
I don’t know if it’s the bleached hair but Duke Riley looks like he is all
Over the field
He is
Tampa TD
Phillips getting handled
Pushed around
Darden is that kid Rhino and I talked about from North Texas.
Wish I could see the All-22 on that TD pass, but it sure seemed to me that Iggy was lost.
Whole secondary got beat
Looks like Iggy was supposed to have the coverage on that TD
IGGY beaten like a rented mule.
I’m using a vpn, chose Miami as my location, I’m streaming the local coverage.
Took me half an hour for my laptop to boot up and install all the updates I’ve not installed. Been awhile since I used it. 😂
👍 nice work
Great to see you Piggy! You’ve been missed.
Oinks
Does Tyler Johnson not understand how stopping works
3rd string Tampa Bay QB leads them to easy touchdown against Miami’s defense.
OH BOY!!
—————-
I HOPE Ross turns this team over to his daughter tonight!!!
That was a great play action fake
I see Micheal Deiter has been pulled from Center on this new drive.
I’d keeping an eye on Deiter… thought he was meh.
oi
52 yards for Sanders after a sack
14-6 Tampa
I guess they already took Jackson out from RT also. That was Smith getting beat at RT.
We barely have a starting caliber OL and certainly don’t have a backup OL.
Exactly
I wonder how Travis Wingfield is going to be able to put a positive twist on PS1. lol
Preston Williams was in on that last series and didn’t look like he got targeted once.
Not good!
I guess I need to do some preseason laundry. 😂
I think we have just about seen the last of the top half of the roster for this game.
There you go!
You just needed to threaten laundry. lol
Right?!?!
Bowden sighting!
Bowden in the end zone on first down. Way to go after a pick throw it right in the end zone. I love McDaniel
^^
Bowden, baby!!!
Then he went for 1 and I love that too
14-13 Tampa
1:44
2nd
Eguavon
TD empty hand
20-14
How ya doin?
Sam Eguavoen is — and has always been — a keeper.
Agreed he belongs here he helped build it
He has missed at least 3 tackles so far tonight!
2 too extend Tampa drives!!!!!!!!
I really like Trask.
I hate him today
I really like Trask
Skylar Thompson wants Bridgewaters job and that’s all I have to say about that
Yes he does
He can have it!
lol
You’re funny as hell
ISU
He’s been productive
He showed toughness after the catch also
First half
Positive – Skylar Thompson 10-12 for 122 yards and 1 TD
Negative – We had -2 yards rushing on 4 carries until Gaskin ran for 5 or so on the last play of the 1st half
WE have only had 1 penelty!!!!!!
Another positive!
YUP! That’s another positive!
Today is just to whet your whistle next week will give a good indication of what we’re going to try and do. On both sides of the ball.
First half (to echo BBMike)
Positive: Skylar!
Meh: both sides of the ball in general. I was looking at Michael Deiter closely: meh, despite his foot. I was looking at Iggy closely: meh/negative, just wish I had the All-22 to see what had happened on his assignment on the TD pass.
Negative: our O-Line (albeit without our STUDS) sucks. I can’t judge our RBs when our O-Line sucks that badly.
I’m doing the first brisket on my new Traeger next week 🐬
Cheater
Because of my previous history of being a jackass, I feel I need to ask pardon to be a TYLER FN THOMPSON fan. LOL
I’m not going to. I just had a passing feeling.
You can join but it’s Skylar
SKYLER! !!!! FN PHONE
in my phones defense I am slurring
Kicking to us
Lol
OB Dolphins ball at 40
Bowden for 30
Bears ears perking watching Bowden

Thompson to Bowden Feet out of bounds Field goal good
Pggy’s favorite play! 😉
what happened after the bowden catch? Next thing I know it is showing the Bucs with the ball from the first half
You went back 40 minutes
Hope your doing good Piggs , all the best. 🌞❤️🐽
🐖💨
Sanders tacks on
23-14 Fins
Alright folks I’m out
Gonna meet a friend for a few 🍻
Thanks bro
We need to move Iggy to safety!
He’s way more natural there!
Maybe but no way he supplants Jones and especially Holland
He’d be a good 3rd though
Might be his best way to make it
Ross got burnt again, I think
?????
By that little fuckface posing as the owner. I think.
Nice play on a contested play. Bucs TD
23-21 Miami
We need to move Iggy to safety!
———————
I think his instincts are lacking
Seems to be a better tackler/ run defender than any ball skills I’ve seen
Maybe he’s a linebacker
Maybe he’s a runningback
He’s very athletic he must be good somewhere
Wyoming,
Ross the CB got burnt again
Ah Yes he did!
Just got confused for a second!
Thought maybe you were going t go full on OD????? 😉
Indecisive while bailing the pocket Thompson comes up a yard short. Fins punt
Trill Williams walks off injured
^
Dang Trill Williams down. Looking at the ankle
Finally get to see some EZ
We are definitely deep at WR
Surprised we haven’t seen RB White
He came in and lost 5 yards
1st bad throw by Skyler
Yep, couldn’t tell if arm or ball got tipped but he got lucky
Sanders is money from 53
26-24 Miami
son of a son of a shula says:
August 13, 2022 at 10:08 pm
He came in and lost 5 yards
—————-
Oh, I was distracted at work and didn’t realize that was him
Big Sack
3 Dolphins there
Nice return by Bowden Find at mid field
Fins
Still can’t run a screen play for shit!
yep
CB Ross may have had a worse game in coverage than Iggy though he has played much more than Iggy as he leads the team in tackles at 6 for now.
Trill Williams down again and it looks bad
Looks like a knee
Damn, he’s crying. You know it’s bad
Gave up the 4th and 12
Should have called TO.
Miss
Miss
Miss
Dolphins win
49 for the win
Dolphins ice him
Lol, I’ll take it
26-24
Suck it Bucs
Doink!!
Doink! 🙂
Lol
I know it’s preseason but it’s still a win to me.
Go Dolphins!!! 😍🐬
W’s are the best! No matter when you get them!!
Don’t know why he didn’t decline the penalty to make it 4th down but whatever
I hate to see Trill Williams go down like that. He was making plays all camp.
He was probably our best defensive player in the 2nd half. He was always around the play. You could tell by his reaction, he knew it was bad right away. Fingers crossed it’s not season ending…
Ouch
🤞
The way he was crying has me fearing the worst
Ok Ok
That was one of the best 1st PS games where both teams got a good look at their 2nd and 3rd string players with one backup QB getting a start to finish look. Lots of tape on those players for coaches to evaluate.
I’m concerned about Trill Williams on that play where he blew up the play. It looked liked he had an awkward finish.
That was one of the best 1st PS games where both teams got a good look at their 2nd and 3rd string players
—————————-
I thought that also.
VERY,VERY ENTERTAINING, especially for a preseason game. My most lasting impression from this contest will be Kyle Trask possibly cementing his status as the successor to Tom Brady in Tampa Bay!! Trask was REALLY GOOD!!
But give credit to a scrappy Dolphins team that somehow doinked their way to victory in a game I thought they were going to lose. It was a gutty performance!
Meanwhile, the offensive line was just as bad as I feared they were. We are STILL 2-3 players short on the O-Line. And the running backs had NO CHANCE to show what they had because the blocking JUST WASN’T THERE!! Buffalo’s D-Line would have destroyed Miami’s O-Line and running backs tonight!! And Tua would NOT have had enough time to throw many long range bombs behind this porous O-Line. THAT was the most depressing reality.
We will never see the lineups we did tonight in RS games. This was a depth fest. Coaches on both teams have game tape before the 1st round of cuts and go from there.
I’m glad Trask gave you your money’s worth! 😉
OD, Trask did impress me also.
Remember we had 2 days of joint practices with the Bucs. I’m sure both teams decided on the same thing. It was a let’s take a look at our depth game. Entertaining game for a 1st PS game.
Kyle Trask was a 2nd rd pick in 2021 playing in his 2nd season against 7th round rookie Skyler Thompson in his 1st PS game. From a management standpoint I thought Thompson was solid. Trask is the Bucs backup QB, Thompson is trying to beat out Bridgewater.
I agree
We didn’t try to run very much. It looks like the plan was to get a good look at Thompson and this group of WR’s.
Yep! And who can play our scheme on defense when called upon. K Sanders got good work in too.
Good night y’all. Will look for the news feeds in the morning to see what the talking heads have to say.
#’s that stood out to me on defense were – 22, 32, 33, 41 and 53. On offense it was a mixed bag. I saw those other numbers all night.
Rock…
Is there a forth?

Grammar wise-commas are a law unto themselves. Basic rule, is to use one when reading aloud, one inserts a comma when pausing. A semi colon is used after a string of commas. A colon when denoting a list of things. Ellipses are used when joining 2 sentences or a sentence and quote. A long dash is used when a long pause is required. Oxford commas were fashionable and still used by some editors, but are now out of fashion, due to the cost of printing a book.
Grammar sucks almost as much as the use of commas do. In other words guess like I do.
Damn…I was a bit late on the comma debate. Oh well!
Wow, Todd Bowles has been eating well since he’s been in TB. He looked more like a DT than a DB.
All them long hours in the office eating baked goods and burgers. lol
Saw Iggy get burnt on a simple crossing pattern, didn’t even show any recovery speed once the receiver caught the ball.
All the athletic ability in the world and he doesn’t know how to use it. Auburn should have keep developing him on offense.
Iggy also in coverage on the Bucs first TD.
That was like total unawareness on his part. He was in zone but dropped all the way back into the EZ. He saw the WR but still gave him a 10+ yard cushion and didn’t react to the WR until the ball was thrown. That is why I said I feel his instincts are lacking.
