Game 1 of the 2022 preseason was different than I expected. I definitely didn’t expect to see Skylar Thompson the entire game and I also didn’t expect that the majority of starters for both teams would held out, but that was the arrangement the 2 teams made, or at least I believe that’s the case. Being that there are only THREE preseason games as opposed to FOUR (due to the new CBA), this will probably be the dress rehearsal game, as preseason game 3 used to be. We did get to see some starters on the O-line last week and I thought the guys looked pretty good overall. Yes, they were going against Tampa’s second string and sometimes 3rd string, but in preseason, those guys are busting their ass to make a name for themselves and trying to earn a roster spot, so the fact that none of our O-line guys struggled is a good thing. Skylar Thompson did everything he could to try and make the roster, and I think it may end up being a tough decision in the end. Tua hasn’t proved he can play an entire season and stay healthy, and Teddy Bridgewater is obviously more accomplished, but Teddy B is on a 1YR contract and putting Skylar Thompson on the PS leaves his open to be snatched by another NFL team. Hard to say the Dolphins are going to the Superbowl with Tua, can they get there with Teddy Bridgewater?
We had some guys show up nice in game 1 on defense, namely LB Cameron Goode, LB Duke Riley, and LB Sam Eguavoen who had an INT. The secondary was pretty ineffective, as both Gabbert and Trask shredded the Dolphins defensive backs. Noah Igbinoghene did not have a good outing and it’s getting less likely each week that Iggy finds his way onto the roster. The Dolphins did sign veteran CB Mackensie Alexander, former 2nd RD pick in 2016 by the Minnesota Vikings. If Byron Jones is fully healthy, Alexander will be competing for the 3rd CB spot with one of my favorites, Nik Needham. At worst he’s a fine depth guy who despite not starting a ton of games (25 in 4 seasons), he’s done it and has enough game experience. I’m holding out hope that Byron Jones can be healthy and start the season playing, rather than on the PUP.
We’ll get to see Tyreek Hill and Waddle on the field together in a game for the first time. That’s exciting! I would like to see the O-line keep up the good work they started last week. No other unit on this team concerns me more. Getting reps together and playing well will give these guys confidence going into the regular season so I’d love to see them succeed. I still think we have a lot of talent on the O-line, namely Austin Jackson and Liam Eichenberg. Terron Armstead, Connor Williams and Robert Hunt have already established themselves. One shout out, OG Solomon Kindley had a very strong game against the Bucs. That’s great news because he’s a real mauler, and the fact he played well in this blocking scheme is great for us because he’ll give us some nice depth. Anyone who’s seen this kid in the run game remembers how nasty he is.
On the defensive side, the secondary is the unit to watch. To be honest, it’s the D-line and LB’s that I want to watch, but we’ll see if Mackensie Alexander gets some reps and how he fares in our defensive scheme. I have a lot of confidence in our defense, but the Raiders did some shopping in the offseason too, and now they Davante Adams and our own pal Mack Hollins, along with one of the peskiest slot receivers in the game, Hunter Renfrow. Not sure how much those guys play, but Adams and Renfrow are a handful! Oh, and they happen to have one of the best receiving TE’s in the game in Darrren Waller. The Raiders defense is no joke either, they have the talented DE Maxx Crosby along with newly added Chandler Jones. Our O-line has a tough task against these, and will provide a stout test. Not sure how much Josh Jacobs plays but he’s a load, and rookie Zamir White is a tough runner as well, I know some of us were hoping he’d land here. The score of the game and who wins is unimportant, but how we get there tells the story. Hoping we play strong and remain healthy!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Not a huge shocker…. just ask Turtle.

Gary Busey is facing four charges, including two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, by the police department of Cherry Hill, N.J. The actor was visiting the town during the weekend of Aug. 12 to Aug. 14 to attend the Monster-Mania Convention at the Doubletree Hotel.
During the time of the convention, Cherry Hill police responded to a report of a sex offense at the Doubletree Hotel. After investigating the incident, detectives charged the 78-year-old actor on four offenses: two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempting criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree and one disorderly conduct count of harassment.
Well
Good time to see if we have some depth at LT. As a 2021 7th rd pick Coleman missed the season last year.
Important guys not playing Howard (we can’t afford an injury with Jones out), Waddle (nicked up, no reason to play him) and Armstead (he gains nothing by playing PS and too valuable)
Almost time
Found a sports bar in Brooklyn that tells me they will be playing the game
I guess?
Has anyone been watching Mackenzie Alexander?
I hope he’s doing okay – he’s very talented
Maybe he can make up for the Iggy miss at CB
well
GameTime FMU’s
No Hill and Mostert tonight.
They are lighting up Iggy
Fucking Office Depot commercial
That was easy
Can we just cut iggy already
D had plenty of chances to get off the field no thanks to Iggy on about 3 plays.
Iggy let at least 3 big plays beat him.
I’d cut him at half time.
1st down runs for losses will be my downfall
There’s that run game….
Larnell already has his thumb up his ass
That was outrageously impressive by Tua
Seriously great throw by Tua at Gesicki’s feet, to save a loss and a hit
we got nothing on that first down
But I love plays like that on first
Gesicki can’t break a tackle for shit
I guess that’s it’s for watching Tua
I am really trying to like him. But he just doesn’t look natural. Maybe it’s the left-handed thing, I don’t know. It just seems like he’s struggling and nothing looks smooth.
You don’t need to like him
You just need to watch him win
Starters need another series or 2
Minus Iggy
Needham hurt his hand
Damn!
Didn’t look too bad
well that was a drag of a series on offense.
The Raiders seemed to have a lot of free runners on both running and passing plays
So, who are the F/A CB’s left??
I always thought Stidham was underrated
If Crossen can cover like that 3rd down stop we don’t need Iggy to develop on roster, put him on PS
^
Go home cameraman you are drunk
lol
Nice hole. Should have been a better run
A running game!
A juke move for 1st down, it’s been a while
Why were they filming the roof for 10 minutes?
Nice progression by tua
He wanted to go deep so bad though
Did we sign Sony Michel?
Yes
I am out of the loop
He looks disinterested
Can’t get a 3rd and 1
OK, which one of Ross’s FO gurus is responsible for drafting IGGY?? — Or was it Parcells ??? —Probably NOT!!
———————-
IGGY may be the biggest bust since the late ’80s when Miami drafted Sammy “the fumbling machine” Smith out of Florida State in the 1st Round of the draft.
I want to run it to convert
Some say these are the mistakes that preseason was made for…
Dammit Coleman
Someone must see something in Larnell, I sure don’t
, put him next to Iggy on the PS
He’s thinking too much. I think. lol
Or he sucks
Fist pump
Can’t even get highlights or score of Dolphins-Raiders game here in Pasco County. —-Have the Dolphins surpassed 3 yards yet in running the football??
No. They are actually running backwards to give the I know everything fans something to talk about.
Coleman is no bueno
Well, he was an UDFA. I think
There’s Piggy’s roof shot again
Cameraman, “Oooh, hey, tennis courts”!
C’MON MIKE, Ross is damn proud of those tennis courts. Kinda like the Williams sisters (1% owners of the Dolphins) arriving at the game just before kickoff and traipsing across a red carpet to their private box at the stadium. That guy Ross sure has his priorities straight, doesn’t he??
Mid season form!
Needed that!!!
Subs on D are in now
Cuts are in
Alexander beat on that. He must be rustyyyyy
Fuck, now Crossen hurt.
Redwine playing 40 yards deep and still going back, then can’t tackle
Crossen hurt
Looks like just an owie.
Jenkins with a big bull rush
Gustin has been making plays all summer
Bustin for Gustin!
Who is this Gustin dude?
AVG
Lustin for Gustin!
Fair catch with no one around, Bowden…
HEY WYOMING; Take a CLOSER LOOK at that photo!!
Midseason form, indeed!!
Almost as many cheerleaders present as there are fans in the stadium!!
If this Gustin dude pans out, I may have to rethink my 1st round mock. Been going DE/Edge so far.
May have to focus on OT in the 1st next year, (Ya think)
I’ll settle for a new owner whose last name isn’t ROSS.
Heck of a start for bridgewaterd
It looks like they had the safety Blitz called on the Qb Waggle
Classic Madden result
Gesicki blew that blocking assignment – not very surprised.
All he does is make great catches!
Stille almost got there
Mackenzie!!!!
Good rep by Alexander on that one
NFL Network with down and distance on the field, can’t see it and never know the down
Who thought that was a good idea?
I have to stream here at work
Poor Teddy having to play with this backup OL
RIVER
All he do is make plays
Are we purposely not practicing running the football?
It didn’t work but imagine that reverse with Hill and you can see where we are going
Cethan Carter got blowed up trying to make a block
He was grabbing not blocking, poor effort at best
Amendment
Imagine that reverse and then that screen with Hill
Gesicki with his 2nd drop
57 yards down the middle!!!
Sanders
Our D seems like they’re playing Ike shit, but only given up one T(Iggy)D
Gesicki not looking like a top 10 TE
Doesn’t want to be traded
Duuuuke
Crossen playing again
Duke Riley
Duuuuke Riley!
4 U(s), that’s a beer
I’m liking the defensive depth so far.
Tua – 1 FG
Teddy – 1 FG
No worries. Skylar will get us a couple TD’s in the second half.
Skyler is actually Steve Ross in disguise
Don’t jinx the young man
Kohou is another one I want to see more of
Miiiike
Teddy kind of stares receivers down
And has reaction speed of Brisket
60+ FG coming up???? lol
If Bridgewater was out backup last year we would have been in the playoffs
I will agree
All day in the bread basket
Nice
You see!
You see what I Oink!
You see what I Oink when I praise bridgewater
Nice gain of 6 inches on that run
That’s a fumble we got lucky
That was a fumble
But I guess it’s preseason
Bridgewater throwing the reciever into the hospital!
For the second time (first was Gesicki)
That was the same as the Gesicki hit/incompletion.
ALmost.
could be overturned
Fumble
