PS: today is a very good day to stay off of Dolphins Twitter… JUST SAYIN’!
We have run with Mostert and Wilson, but the Pats have a very stingy defense.
What’s our rushing Offense ranked again?
Like I said, we aren’t able to run proficiently and with regularity, forget about today’s game against the vaunted Patsie* Defense.
We just never got to where Coach McDaniel wanted us to be in terms of a rushing Offense.
If we don’t get in, some team that will at least have won one game of the last 6 will have won which is better than what he have done. It’s just such a damn shame that Dolphins fans can’t enjoy a worthy playoff contender
I agree 100%, except, we may win one in the last 6 and Not get in if the Pats beat the Bills.😉But your point is well taken
We’re 8-8. As middle of the road as you get. Don’t see how when the wins fell mattering much other than predicting playoff chances.
In retrospect, it’s kind of funny. Prior to the season, everybody was like ‘Coach McDaniel is going to run the ball 65% of the time! OMG! How will the Cheetah, the Penguin, Gesicki, and Wilson feast?!! And OMG! Tua can’t throw the ball in the air over 20 yards!!!’.
Still can’t run at will behind this O-Line. We occasionally can catch a Defense sleeping where Mostert will rip off a few 20-yarders, but if our passing game is shut down, we’re done.
Passing game is shut down = no Tua
Stanger, I’d rather root for a team that won 5 of 6 to make the playoffs than a team that lost 5 of 6 and just made it. I’m pretty sure you can see the difference between the two scenarios
I’d rather be that team for sure, but I’m stuck with mine…. which yeah want to make the post season.
We need to give this coach time. I like his concepts. I think we are in good shape.
I think we blow out the Jets and get in.
We haven’t seen our team blow out anyone. Unless Tua starts and finishes the game, I don’t see that as a possibility at all.
I don’t mean to brag, but I have been right for the last month or so. 😉 Trust me. Lol
Well, I’ve been wrong for the last 6 weeks, although to be fair, I didn’t think we’d win today, but definitely don’t listen to me. lol
Lol. Trust me. We will win.
Bye-bye, stej: out of the playoffs.
😆
This…
https://twitter.com/NFLonCBS/status/1609706481318006784?s=20&t=-EhP_uwxYTsFJWOvSV-Nng
We could feel good about the way the last two seasons ended, becisse we started off so horribly, pulled it together and finished strong. Yes, there were some clunkers towards the end, but we won the majority of our games to end the season.
You know what made this day even better? I just lost the championship in my FF league on a FG in OT to lose by 1.36 points. He also has NE’s D, which scored a TD against us.
We dominated in all stats but lost the turnover battle and missed a FG.
We have to be dead last in the NFL in getting turnovers. Just guessing.
That’s what made our defense good the last 2 to 3 years. I don’t think that is sustainable over the long haul. Yes, the turnovers are potentially, but not the way we were scoring touchdowns defensively
My take on the season.
We were looking good at 8-3 with a lot of promise. Durability killed us along the way. The secondary has been depleted. The OL has used at least 12 different guys. None of our QBs can stay healthy, they all go out. We only win with Tua.
We’re losing the battle of attrition and our special teams are not good. We’re a shell of a team that was 8-3.
When does it end for us? WTF?!!!
If the Bills lose to the Bengals, guarantee they rest players next week vs Pats.
Why?
DON’T KNOW how the Jets can get up for the next game given their elimination from the playoffs today. Meanwhile, I’d have to say the Pats’ chances in Buffalo, given that the Bills will be playing for home field advantage for the AFC playoffs, are slim.
Here’s hoping that Belicheat gets his butt kicked in what figures to be the Patriots last game of the season.
Sounds weird to say “Let’d Go, Buffalo!”
Sanders can’t even make the shorter kicks now days.
We only have 4 picks in the next draft for positional players because we will have to use a draft pick on a kicker.
I will defer to Rock on that one.
That’s his scouting department. 😉
IF the Jets game next Sunday is 1:00 PM, I’ll probably miss most of it driving on I-4 back to Tampa. Even tho’ I still hold out hope IF Tua is cleared to play, it might be best if I miss most/all of the game.
Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
With Teddy Bridgewater breaking a finger on his throwing hand, figure he’ll be unavailable next week. Tua Tagovailoa is still in the concussion protocol, as well.
Looks like it’s Skylar with the playoffs on the line
Wow
Yeah, it really puts the team in a tough spot because if Tua does clear concussion protocol, they are going to catch a ton of shit for playing him.
Guinness please
Sure
We have given up 393 points this season which is worse than the 2-13-1 Texans. Dolphins are 2nd worst in AFC but only 2 points better than the 4-11-1 Colts who have given up 395 points.
Wow
Bri – does anyone really give a fuck what other people think? If he’s cleared to play and he wants to play, he should play. We can’t be held to different standards. Fuck the optics. If Ross cared about optics he wouldn’t do the dumbest things he’s done. He just wants to win. I also understand we’re under a microscope precisely because of what Ross has done, but we have to do whatever is best for the team. If doctors clear him it’s up to him and the team to make that decision, no one else
Side note:
I have tonight’s game on mute so I don’t have to listen to Collinsworth.
Smart!!
Every team has its injuries, but for fucks sake, I don’t think any team can come remotely close to what we have had to endure this season.
When it comes to concussions what I’ve learned from listening to the experts is, rest and extra time off has nothing to do with anything if a person can pass the tests. The brain has already healed and it’s not like a knee issue or other physical issue. There is no injury any longer. But everyone has become a concussion expert and thinks shutting the player down is the key. That’s up to the player who passes the test and decides how they feel.
That puts the Dolphins in a tough spot even if they follow the protocol. Doctors, Tua and coaches agree Tua is fine, but the media says no. Everyone has a voice even if they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Shits getting old, Cheats must lose or tie or we’re out
If cheats lose, Pitt loses 1 more we can get in with win or tie
Or just a cheats loss and our win
Broken finger for Bridgewater
I’ll take another beer, thank you Ken.
Mike,
I don’t know if they give a fuck, but I do know that they are under more scrutiny becuase of the way the first one was handled
There’s no doubt we’re under more scrutiny, but are we willing to lose a game if our player is medically cleared and wants to play? I sure hope not
I do as well. It wasn’t that hard of an impact, which is concerning, but I can’t imagine he’d be out two weeks. Who knows. Ideally we would have won today and rested him for two weeks until the playoffs, but, you know, that’s not our team.
2023 Unrestricted Free Agent QB’s under 35 y.o. (there are more than this and this is no specific order)
Lamar Jackson
Teddy Bridgewater
Jacoby Brissett
Jimmy Garoppolo
Daniel Jones
Case Keenum
Mike White
Baker Mayfield
Geno Smith
Mason Rudolph
Taylor Heinicke
Jarrett Stidham
Cooper Rush
The game plan was good. The bodies were lacking today on both sides of the ball
I thought we played well enough on D- we only gave up 16 points. A few costly mistakes , but it should have been enough to win the game.
The D folded as usual. 90 yard drive when it mattered to put the game away
^
I also knew early on that Sanders inconsistencies were going to hurt us in a big moment
You’ve been saying it all year and you were right. He lost his mojo. He was the best kicker in the league in 2020. He’s been unreliable since.
BB Mike – only one game, but I really liked what I saw from Stidham today against a damn good Niners defense
^ I remember him playing well as a backup when he was in NE. He ame up with the Raiders coach so I am sure he gets resigned by them. He’s got some game.
D was the first to say Stidham was being underrated.
He was pretty bad when he played for NE.
Our RB room will be close to empty come the offseason.
2023 notable UFA RB’s (no order)
Raheem Mostert
Jeff Wilson
Myles Gaskin
Salvon Ahmed
Saquan Barkley
Devin Singletary
Tony Pollard
Miles Sanders
Kareem Hunt
Rashad Penny
Josh Jacobs
Jamaal Williams
D’Onta Foreman
David Montgomery
… among others
Too bad we won’t have enough money to upgrade.
I suspect both Mostert and Wilson will both be back
I can see that.
Looks like Mike White will be the starter for Jets next week.
The Steelers- that’s a team that knows how to play when it counts
They have to win next week and get a few losses from a few teams, but that’s the way to get into the playoffs, on a high note, not like our team that can’t find a way to win one game in 5 weeks!!!
I listen to WQAM many mornings on Audacy, and there are just a barrage of commercials, mostly the same ones day after day. You’d swear that the pharmaceutical companies are running a fear campaign, it’s one fucking vaccine after another that they want you to get. COVID, Prevnar 20 for Pneumococcal Pneumonia, Flu shot etc. Have they ever tested what happens to a person if they got all these shots in one year? Sheesh! Next thing sporting goods companies will be advertising football helmets for people because you never know when a brick may fall off a building . . .
Bri – You’ll be happy to know that the Joe Rose and his crew all agree with you that no doctor will clear Tua because of all the potential backlash that the doctor may face if he gets hurt again. Trump is an ass, but that’s one thing he has right. The media is a monster, not a one of them gives a flying fuck about Tua’s health, they just eat up the controversy whether they were right or wrong.
Not that we deserve to be in the playoffs after 5 straight losses, BUT … struggle on we must …
will have to cheer for Bills to beat Bengals so that they will be motivated against Pats (to seal top seed and get that bye). Worst case scenario for us is a situation where Bills rest players.
Because Chiefs play last game vs Raiders on a Saturday. If Bills lose tonight and Chiefs beat Raiders on Saturday, we can expect Bills to rest players vs Pats. Cincy would own tie break for 2nd seed anyway so there really wouldn’t be anything for Bills to play for.
In fact, we not only need Bills to win tonight, but Chiefs to win Saturday to create a “Bills need win over Pats for top seed/bye”.
AND THEN we can lose to the Jets and really ruin the off season for fans. lol
Barry Jackson
@flasportsbuzz
Definition of fatalist: “Someone who believes that people cannot change the way events will happen and that events, especially bad ones, cannot be avoided.” After decade after decade of this stuff, I wonder how many Dolphins fans are now fatalists, mentally wired to expect worst.
I can answer that Barry a LOT
20 years of mediocrity and he thinks we are fatalists? Maybe he just doesn’t understand what consistent failure looks like?
This team may pull off the biggest collapse in Dolphins history. I’m thinking it does and I’m questioning everything including a coach who leaves three of his top players out in a must win situation. He reminds me of Dave Wannstedt. Player coach who did everything he could to be their buddies. It at least got Dave a 41-23 record, but we were never a real threat to win the SB. If he keeps a terrible ST coach, I’ll question even more.
If Tua doesn’t play the entire next season, I think it’s time to bail….maybe on the whole organization. Grier loves buying injured goods that sit around eating money. X was a huge waste of money. Same with Byron Jones, Trey Flowers. I know one thing. I stepped back and have only watched about 1 game a week and not always our team (mostly). I enjoyed it. I may see if I can break this habit. Never really been fun since Marino left. That’s most of my entire adult life. Almost half this season was ok…against mainly terrible teams. Sounds really familiar. We can’t beat average teams consistently, much less good ones. We beat two teams with a winning record this year. Not even close to good enough.
That’s a good point- I was worried about the whole “cool coach” persona translating into a head coach- much easier to do when you’re an assistant . The shine has definitely worn off of the Wonder Boy.
Mike,
Yeah, the media in this country right now is definitely controlling the narrative on a lot of topics. It’s concerning.
That sucks. Scheduling can kick you in the ass. Pats/Bills game and ours go off at the same time and not a problem.
——————
“Buffalo has a chance to play for the first seed in the conference, but if the Kansas City Chiefs win the day prior, the Bills won’t be able to leap over them and could rest their starters for the playoffs.”
That’s only true if Buffalo loses tonight.
I’ll trust you on that. Was written in the article as just that, but not like reporters have been wrong before. Especially on the salary cap…. they blow numbers on those all the time.
Yeah, probably a bit of lazy reporting. The Bills beat the Chiefs earlier this season, so they own the tiebreaker.
For the Bills to play their starters against NE we need them to win tonight and the Chiefs to win on Saturday.
Probably won’t matter anyway. I’m not sure this Dolphins team will beat the Jest without Tua.
Thanks for that. Talk about lazy… didn’t do my own research.
I truly anticipate next week’s game doesn’t matter and I am not sure I want it to matter
We’re just not that good a team. We have a pretty good offense if Tua is playing QB, and that’s really it. The rest is crap.
The D has talent but not sure why it sucks so much
It’s mainly our secondary that is made up of backups and average talent.
It’s also scheme
What about the scheme?
Your Miami Dolphins are 2 point favorites agains the Jets.
Regarding our Defense, ponder this…
If we had a healthy X (he hasn’t been healthy since about week 3: groins), Byron Jones (hasn’t taken a snap all season), Brandon Jones (IR), Nik Needham (IR), Trill Williams (IR), Emmanuel Ogbah (IR), Trey Flowers (IR), and Bradley Chubb has been injured as well… we’d probably have been a top-5 Defense this season.
YES, injuries happen and ‘next man up’, but this is a complete disaster in terms of the injury bug. We’re talking about losing multiple Pro-Bowlers on our Defense here.
THAT is why I say it’s very difficult to pin the tail on Josh Boyer, especially being he runs his Defense first through the Secondary (just like Nick Saban does, remember?). And it’s our Secondary that is the most injured unit on the whole team.
I see your point, but SF has had just as many, if not more injuries than us, and are winning with a 7th round draft pick at QB. You have to figure it out. That’s on the coaches, or maybe the GM for not having depth. It’s certainly not going to get better trading draft picks away.
I wish I had the answers, my man, but I’ve got nothing concrete. This team is devoid of fortune at every twist and turn.
Kind of reminds me of a quote from Rosie Lopez in ‘White Men Can’t Jump’: “sometimes even when ya get it right, you’re wrong”.
I’m absolutely sure I butchered the actual quote, but ya get the gist.
Agreed and the defense only allowed 16 points in NE. It’s hard to win with 2nd and 3rd string QBs. Our OL is also banged up.
Totally agreed, Tim. I’m not so sure our O-Line has actually improved (as banged-up as it has been), being Tua gets rid of the ball so quickly after the snap… so there’s that for pass-pro.
We are also the #32 team in the NFL in rushing attempts and #26 in rushing yards.
For the supposedly ‘run-first’ Mike McDaniel, that sure as hell seems as though he doesn’t trust our O-Line.
Our OL has definitely been better than in past years but we’ve had to roll guys in and out all year, especially at OT. How many guys have we played at OT this year, 5, 6, 7?
M13,
I sure as shit hope that our coaches and GM have the answers, or we are fucked.
On another note, are you watching the PSU game? Singleton just ripped off an 87 yard run. I’m excited to see Allar moving forward. Clifford is solid, but doesn’t have that “it” factor like McSorley did.
Tuning in now!

Exactly. All teams have injuries. Every year, the Niners deal with the same thing we went through this year. They have been decimated with injuries the past couple years. They are still a prennial playoff team, damn near made the SB last year, and have an excellent shot this year even on their 3rd QB this year, a freakin rookie.
The Bills lost their best CB for the 1st half the season. They lost both their starting safeties (also top notch guys) by game 3, one for the season, the other is in and out of the lineup. The’ve had guys miss games on the dline. They are freaking 2nd in the league in defensive PPG. We’re 27th.
We’ve been bad on defense and STs since game 2 of the season. Even with backups, you still expect to see improvement and the team to just get better as a team. That is what good teams do. Other than our Tua led offense, the entire rest of the team has been bad all year, hasn’t improved, hasn’t shown up in big games, etc.
We’ve got talent on both sides of the ball. But our talent hasn’t shown up on defense (I’m exempting the dline from this statement). How many INTs has Howard dropped this year? When was the last time Holland made a game changing play? Rowe? Baker?
The 49ers and Bills are better than us and have been building their teams longer than us with their coaches. It’s not the same situation. Our backup QBs are not playing as well as Purdy. The eye test shows you that. We’ve lost every game our backup QBs have played in at 0-4. Bridgewater has not looked good and Skylar doesn’t look ready to play. He plays hard and competes but he also looks overwhelmed way too often.
However the season finishes, McDaniel and his staff will know this team better than they did coming in. So hopefully we’ll make some moves in the offseason that upgrades some voids that they feel need to happen.
Tua’s situation is key moving forward. None of us know the answer to that. The only injuries that kept him out of games this year were concussions or perceived concussions. We’ll see what happens.
They are clearly better teams. We aren’t a good team. The difference in your view and mine, is I see we’ve been building personnel for this same defense for 4 years. That is why we retained Boyer. So I do see it as the same situation. Crossman has been part of the STs coaching staff since 2019 as well.
The turnover was on offense. I can easily give a pass to the offense for being substandard without Tua. Bridgewater who has been a $10 mil waste of money who has given us nothing and Thonmpson is playing like a rookie.
If you ask me we lost the last five primarily because of poor QB play as the major reason. Our second half scoring has almost disappeared and we’re turning the ball over a lot while not getting any turnovers. Too many nonproductive drives with tons of shitty passes and missed opportunities.
Brandon Jones was a tough loss for us on D but guys have played really pretty well considering. If our D wasn’t getting hung out so many times they’d fare much better but they’re constantly going back out after a three and out or a turnover while our offense is in mud in the second half. We should be scoring around 30 points a game, we had 14 with a minute left yesterday before scoring our only points of the half after a second half shutout at home vs GreenBay last week. Can’t win like that especially when you turn the ball over.
You giving STs a pass too? We’re averaging 20.8 in our last 5 games and giving up 27.4.
I don’t think your wrong that QB play has been the biggest factor in those 5 losses. Tua was just off against the Niners. I think we beat NE by two scores with Tua, and beat GB if he doesn’t turn loopy in the 2nd half. But I don’t give the D a pass. They crumble in every big moment.
How about they go out and win a game for us when the offense is down? Nope, not once in the last 5 games could they put the team on their back and hold a team under 20.
*you’re
If Tua was good to go I think we beat the Pats easily. The Pats didn’t do much on offense. We’re just in a fucked up situation right now.
Yep!
Maybe we can sign Brett Favre for this Sunday’s game
How could you even consider a long term deal with Tua at this point?
We’re at the same place we seem to always be at.
We need a Quarterback – Still
Nah too early for that. Tua is only in his 3rd season. No big contract is in the mix until 2025.
Really only one more year then you have to take the fifth year option
Right not a big contract.
Really bad injury to Damar Hamlin right now. Wishing him well.
Oh man this is really bad
Omg
Not sure if Ken has posted this, but think it was one of my biggest concerns starting the season….our defense is not good…
https://www.yahoo.com/news/dolphins-defense-failed-every-moment-154918806.html
Sonny, the only thing more ridiculous than giving Tua a long term contract is Dolphins fans clamoring to bring Jimmy G here next year. Go from a young QB who can’t stay on the field to an old one??? WTF
I’d find a way to sign Lamar if the Ravens don’t tag him. Maybe they say enough and go sign Carr.
Lamar doesn’t stay healthy either.
Scary injury to Hamlin .. apparently doing CPR on him for last nine minutes on the field
Yeah. This is not good
🙏🏻
Holy shit.
Oh man they’ve been doing CPR on him. 😦
Prayers up for Hamlin
What happened to Damar Hamlin?
Wa involved in a tackle, stood up afterward
And collapsed backwards on the field
Damn, that’s awful. I see they suspended the game. Not sure if they continue this game tonight
I would not be surprised if it is postponed and restarted at a later date ..
It looked like it was head to head on his tackle attempt. He got up and then collapsed.
And it really wasn’t a vicious collision .. very strange .. we joke about the Bills and Pats players getting injured but never wish anything like this on anyone
I thought Higgins helmet caught him in the chest
I think you are Correct, but I saw harder hits earlier in the game .. just a freak incident. And really hope the guy is gonna be okay
Horrible…
Oh man, hoping he’s going to be ok.
The collision — which really didn’t seem too violent — isn’t what put Hamlin down, being he got right back up.
It is what put him down. Sometimes there can be a delayed reaction in medical situations.
That’s fair. I’m only trying to say that Hamlin wasn’t knocked out cold upon contact.
Some people have yet to see the play in question. That’s where my comment comes from.
Here’s the video.
Hamlin got hit on the chin with the helmet and in the chest by the pads. Maybe he was knocked out and his heart was impacted where he had no oxygen. I’ve seen stories where young baseball players got hit in the heart with the ball and died.
I am thinking spinal cord injury
Too early, Dr.
That’s what I was thinking Tim. There is an exponentially small window during the heartbeat where an impact can kill. I’m not an expert on this, just have read about it when it happened.
Yeah when the brain goes out and the heart stops pumping you’re dying.
I just fear the worst on this
M13, you ever see boxers get rocked, then get up and stumble falling and they’re out. It’s not always on impact. Boxers have died in the ring.
I don’t think you’ve seen my comments above, being not everybody has seen the play we’re all talking about. I was providing context that Hamlin didn’t get knocked out cold.
That doesn’t matter. I posted the video above.
What do you mean it doesn’t matter? LOL, the context ALWAYS matters!
Yes, this shit is bloody serious and I’m not downplaying it.
Not good…
Yeah, he was on oxygen when he left the field- he can’t breathe on his own
Game officially suspended
Beer for you, Brian. NICE WIN for PSU!!!
Thank you sir! Yes, a very good win. Let’s hope we can build a program to compete with Ohio State and Michigan. They have built up the OL, and have two studs coming next year. I like Allar a lot, two very good freshman RBs in Singleton and Allen, solid TE group – would love to beef up the receiving corps.
Official
M13, please stop continuing with being knocked out cold. That’s what doesn’t matter. It could be 3-4 seconds down the line. Geez man!!!
Just saw the video…he was hit in the chest pretty hard…wonder if it’s related to his heart….oh my.
Yes whatever physical trauma he suffered he lost oxygen.
Possibly Traumatic Cardiac Arrest, heart gets bruised and goes into arithmia, Dr Seigl relayed
That’s what I was thinking….you stop the heart, no oxygen to the body, everything shuts down…
Yep
It’s like shocking the heart when it’s in fibrillation, but in reverse and stops it…
Whatever it was this is just horrible to see.
Unfortunately, it looked way too familiar to me….
HERE’s how I predict the NFL is going to react (in conjunction with the NFLPA);
The regular season ended tonight. The current standings will be the FINAL regular season games. Teams will be seeded according to where they stand RIGHT NOW.
The final weekend of regular season games WILL ALL BE CANCELLED. This will allow the players and the league officials to say, “We’re taking this week off so that everyone connected to the NFL, the players, the ownership groups, and the families of ALL OUR PLAYERS, can say their own prayers and try to console EACH OTHER in this regrettable and tragic situation. It is our hope that the Playoffs eventually will take place at the times and places we hoped they would be. The League will carefully monitor this situation. If it becomes necessary to take other actions, the league will inform the public of exactly what those actions will be. For now, we will focus on the hoped for recovery of the player involved.
Hopefully wiser heads will prevail in this time of need.
I AM OUT FOR TONIGHT
I don’t see that happening. As sad as it is life goes on. The NFL did the right thing ending the game. But the season will continue. Why would they cancel the last week of the regular season and than resume the playoffs?
OUT OF RESPECT to the player and his family. PLUS, I don’t think the Bills organization will be willing to play this coming weekend.
REALLY OUT THIS TIME!!
Okay but the next week in the playoffs will be fine? That’s not fair to thousands of people still competing. Based on what you’re saying the season should be cancelled.
NOT TRUE.
Your post was basically saying the Dolphins won’t make the playoffs because they’ll have no chance for that win in week 18. The regular season ended tonight.
The NFL is not canceling the season. Maybe they will continue the game tomorrow night. There is way too much money out there in TV contracts, sponsorships, salaries, etc. The NFL is a business, and tough decisions need to be made.
Of course not. A tragic incident for one player is not going to end the season. But it could not continue tonight.
Just read that Hamlin’s “vitals are back to normal. They put him to sleep and out a tube down his throat”. Per his Marketing rep
That’s good news even if he’s not out of the woods. I hope he can still live his life even if it’s not about football.
THAT’S OUTSTANDING NEWS, Brian! It now appears likely that the NFL season will go back on schedule and that just this one game will be cancelled.
There’s no chance this game will be canceled. They’ll probably play tonight, this game has huge playoff implications.
The question is now is he breathing on his own and is there neuro devastation
This is an excellent article.
https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2023/1/3/23536685/damar-hamlin-buffalo-bills-cincinnati-bengals-monday-night-football?utm_campaign=theringer&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
Fingers crossed he can make a full recovery. I saw the Fabrice return on tv. Very emotional, but he’ll never play again. And of course Christian now plays for Man U and is doing well.
$3.7m dollars and counting donated to his foundation. Blake Fergusson donated and tweeted as below.
3rdd paragraph of the article says it was a no contact event. Not the same thing at all. Wiki says an autopsy determined it was an undiagnosed arteriosclerosis.
So who exactly is exploiting, Olbermann?
I mean WTF? You don’t even have to read much of the article to see it isn’t the same thing. What a complete asshole.
That was for Olbermann, not Ken.
Just an idea to finish off the season:
Give the two teams a tie
Add two more playoff teams
Have 3 top teams on bye (KC, Buff, Cinn)
The winners of the wild card week play against the bye week teams in round two
🤷♂️
Those three would be top three no matter who won and even including next week. Not sure how this effects the NFC
Never mind there would be an odd number of teams week two. Who knows what the hell they’ll do
I really only see two legit possibilities. They either cancel the Buff/Cincy game and say ‘it is what it is’.
Or they play it today and say ‘sorry, you play the last game on a short week.’ I can’t really see them playing tomorrow, then again on Sunday.
If they don’t play it tonight, I think they’re cancelling it.
As far as just football goes it really needs to get played
No doubt it is a massively important game. Not just for Buff and Cincy, but for KC, and even for NE, Pitt, and us. But what else can they do?
They can’t postpone the playoffs for a week to give them time to play.
They can’t force these teams to play twice in a really short span of time (imagine if another player sustained a big injury in that scenario).
I guess they might get away with playing tomorrow and having them play again on Sunday, maybe they make the Sunday games involving Buff and Cincy evening games. That’s 4 days of rest. Playoff seeding might be locked in, so both teams could play mostly backups on Sunday.
IDK, man, I don’t see any good options if they don’t get that game played tonight.
for what it’s worth
I just read some members of the Bills returned home to Buffalo Tuesday morning. Can’t see them playing tonight.
I read most of them have. They stayed til after midnight then flew back, though some stayed in Cincy.
This game isn’t being played any time soon. The NFL were widely (and rightly) slammed for not postponing it for an hour. They are going to have to be seen as caring about player safety and paying lip service to it now to make amends.
Was it that long before they made the decision last night? I didn’t tune into this stuff happening until I read it on the blog last night. Crazy
Didn’t watch the game live – when I woke up this morning, I came on the blog and Twitter and refreshed each but scrolled backwards in time to when I went to bed. After following along on here for a bit I switched back to Twitter as there was a lot more details on there.
At first it was reported that the NFL told them they had five minutes to warm up again, then it was reported the refs might have said that then it went to the NFL never said any such thing. In chronological order:
If this gets through the attachment filter it will be a 2nd Miami Miracle
My original comment is awaiting moderation so I’ll break it down:

Guess 7 attachments was a bridge too far ! 🤣
It looks like the coaches took matters into their own hands and forced the NFLs hand. Good for them.
Yep – both coaches took their players off – see main tweets above.
Was responding to what you posted, but didn’t make that clear, lol.
From the article (emphasis is mine):
As Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk noted, the NFL postponed its entire season by a week following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. There is typically a bye week between conference championship games and the Super Bowl, but that was eliminated in 2001. One option for the NFL would be to move the Bills-Bengals game to this coming weekend and push Week 18 and the entire remainder of the NFL schedule — except for the Super Bowl — back a week.
Another possibility the NFL could entertain is canceling the Bills-Bengals game altogether. Playoff seeding could then be determined by winning percentage, with Buffalo and Cincinnati having played one less game than the 30 other teams. Florio says the NFL was prepared to take that approach in 2020, when there was a risk of games being canceled due to the pandemic.

Third option could be rescheduling last night to following weekend , postpone playoffs a week and week 18 plays as planned 🤷♂️
That actually makes more sense than moving all this weekend’s games.
I completely forgot about the week between conference games and the SB. They can get this game played if they want to.
It only gives us one week to rest before the SB though? Will that be enough?
(Evil lmao)
If the game isn’t played KC would get the #1 seed with a win in week 18
Buff #2 with a win against cheats
Buff catches a break to move to 2nd seed instead of a loss last night
When I was in law school a guy got hurt bad on the other team. He didn’t get hit bad but the glancing impact ruptured some artery that brings blood to the brain (wanna say cartaroid, but that’s the only one I know). Guy collapsed. He went to the hospital for surgery but learned a week later did OK.
After the ambulance had left we (mainly me… was club Pres) said “OK lets get on with the game.” They said, “No way. Game over. We’re going home.” My thought was “nothing we can do and it’s rugby damn it.”
So opinions can differ in such situations.
I’m with you on this, but with the pussifucation of American, that group would’ve had Goodell’s balls
Well the one thing I learned for sure is it takes two teams to play a game.
I think they’ll play tomorrow night.
So much for that.
Mike/Rock – Finished the Firemane series. Not sure that I liked it.
I like it, I’ve been reading the Master of Furies very slowly, but I like it
I take this to mean week 18 will be played as normal, and they will decide whether or not to play Bills/ Bengals after the fact.
If the Bills lose to NE and the Chiefs win, then the Chiefs get the #1 seed no matter what happens with Bills/ Bengals, and I’m betting they definitely cancel the game at that point.
Honestly, after thinking about it, being this close to the playoffs, I don’t see the NFL moving them back a week. I think it’s still a good chance the game gets cancelled no matter what happens.
Posting this because it addresses week 18- as of now, no changes.
I think this means the league hopes we lose so they can just cancel the game
Why does it matter what we do?
I don’t see a way they can reschedule the game, that makes any sense
I think you are right it doesn’t matter the Bills Patriots is what matters
Not this shit again
For once I agree with Omar
I don’t get the fund raiser for Demar. He has insurance thru NFL and makes millions, why should middle class people send money to him?
It was to his charity.
Makes sense a little now
The Bills fans sent money to Tua’s charity when he got hurt
It’s one thing, that half the league’s QBs have been Injured this year, it’s another, that Tua has been out multiple times each year
Wasn’t out as a rookie. Was out for once 3 games last year and 2 times multiple games this year
Fitzpatrick, Dolphins keep Jets winless with 20-3 victory
— Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two touchdown passes while starting in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins kept the New York Jets winless with a 20-3 victory Sunday.
11/29/2020 – AP
This is exactly why the Tuna elected to build the O-Line (see Jake Long) before selecting the franchise QB back in ’08. Makes no sense to draft a franchise QB with no O-Line, unless ya want the QB to end up with DCS* ™ (David Carr Syndrome).
Liam Eichenberg is quickly playing himself out of a job in Miami.
Christian Wilkins has 90 tackles as a DL which is the most in a decade. It seems he’s been racking up tackle records for DT and DL since he entered the league. I think he set the rookie record.

M13, please stop continuing with being knocked out cold. That’s what doesn’t matter. It could be 3-4 seconds down the line. Geez man!!!
——-
Yeah, I never continued with the “knocked out cold”. I explained my OG realtime comment (not everybody had seen the video and for those who won’t), and everyone seemed to understand but you.
You kept going BACK to my OG realtime comment (which had already been explained) as if we weren’t learning anything new as fresh data was pouring in. Then in poor taste (according to most people in the world), you posted the video to… prove me (wrong) right?
Bro, I’ve got a very short memory and I ain’t mad at ya, but WTF was that last night? Maybe we got our wires crossed or something, but GEEZ MAN is right! I made a mere and casual observation early, didn’t play doctor to say it meant anything, and you kept it going for no clear reason whatsoever. Why?
My comment wasn’t meant to be as harsh as you took it. You mentioned him not being knocked out cold like that mattered. You said it more than once. That’s why I used the boxing example. Sometimes there is a delay. Then we found out this was more than that as we learned he was being administered CPR which is the heart not pumping and he wasn’t getting any oxygen.
How did “geez man” get you so riled up? We’ve all dealt with much worse than that on this blog. LOL
Hamlin was revived twice on the field.
We all hope he can live a normal life even without football. Hopefully he doesn’t have brain damage.
I know it’s speculation but I am not optimistic. The fact that there was no announcement from the hospital or the family about his prognosis is ominous. They may just be waiting the 24 hours to confirm no brain function before ending heroic measures. That was the assessment of a health care professional I know
Ken, you’re a pragmatic guy and what you said here is what I’m worried about. This is when people hope for miracles.
Hamlin has to be kept prone on stomach due to fluid in lungs due to damage to lungs from chest compressions
Ugh!!! I’ve heard that chest compressions are violent even though you’re trying to revive someone. It’s a Catch-22. You have to do it to save a life but it can also have dire consequences. Very sad. 😦
