2026 Season – Week 5 – Bengals @ Dolphins

The Dolphins host the Bengals for our annual FMU Fest!! We’ll have a smaller “Mob” this year but we’re still here and cheering for our first win of the season. I know there will be a large contingency of Bengals fans but I have a good feeling about this week. We have been improving and I feel like were getting closer to putting it together well enough to get a “W”.

We do get DT Kenneth Grant back this week although I’m sure he’ll be on a snap count as this will be his first game action of 2026 including preseason. WR Caleb Douglas is still OUT but hopefully getting closer to action. With Achane OUT for the season, RB’s Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright will have to pick up the slack. I believe WR Malik Washington will continue to get more targets without Achane.

Let’s hope our guys can pull one out for the home crowd, and of course, the FMU Festers!

GO DOLPHINS!!!

    Speaking of Arch And Texas

there is one good thing out of Texas in terms of the passing game

    Cam Coleman is pretty amazing

although Jeremiah Smith looks amazing, I think if we end up trading down, can Coleman is an excellent WR who has playmaker written all over him

Or, it seems that SOME are posting, but only after I refresh the page TWICE

I post something. It doesn’t show up. I refresh the page, it isn’t there. I post it again, sometimes it shows, sometimes it tells me I already posted that, sometimes it just doesn’t do anything. Then sometimes when I refresh TWICE after posting, then it will show up. WTF?

Bell was invisible for most of the game yesterday. Two targets ZERO catches. One end around for 26 yards.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Probably a lot of that falls on Willis

Bell was productive when he was featured on the end around play
we had 114 team passing yards

      🤮

  4. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I would be upset at all if we traded down form a very high pick and ended up with Cam Coleman and one of the top pass rushers

then trade up from the 2nd round to take a QB

I really hope Malik plays better bc I would love it if we are not desperate for a QB this offseason

WHY DO HALF MY POSTS GO TO SPAM!? I DON’T EVEN HAVE ANY LINKS IN THEM!!

No reason not to stick with Willis for the year….I’m not so sure about next year. You paid him a lot of money…get your money’s worth. Also no reason not to take a QB in the draft. By March everybody will be hyping 1-3 QBs as top 5 guys and probably another 2-3 as first rounders. It happens every year. It’ll happen again. It’s on JES to find one worth taking.

Hopefully, we won’t be picking in the top 5 repeatedly but you gotta at least try to upgrade the position when you have such a high pick. The position is just too important nowadays. It dwarfs every other position….sadly.

Just another observation about Willis’ accuracy…it’s really bad.

Several receivers had to change direction because instead of leading them to the open space, they had to change direction and look over their back shoulder to get near the ball….it was bad…lol

  8. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

We’ve got a new whipping boy! Carry on.

  9. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

TK…that’s not remotely in the ball park

  10. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

Just a fresh, live eye view. I stated up front he needs to be coached up as he’s clearly not there. One can provide constructive criticism without whipping them….facts

  11. Krishna's avatar Krishna says:

This not a good team yet, but we do play hard. Nothing wrong in looking for better players at every position….I think that’s called building a team…lol

i feel like we probably will get a new OC next year as well. The offense we’re running requires quick passes. this is not what willis does. he steps too far back then a lot of times he passes off his back foot. he really needs to work on his mechanics.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      Yeah

Our OC is a holdover from the prior regime and the offense pretty much stinks – so it sort of makes sense

  13. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

We are last in the league in passing yards, passer rating, passing TDs and comp %

    That’s pretty bad

  14. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Worth noting that most of the rookies looked pretty good yesterday when given the chance

Chris Johnson looks like the real deal to me

  15. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Someone did a new mock draft, mocking the QBs out of the top 5

And they mocked Cam Coleman to us at 3

and they graded the team based on their mock

    And gave us a C

does that make any sense at all – grading a team, and grading them poorly, for your own mock draft?

    People are desperate for clicks….

I would pass on Coleman in the top 10. He disappears way too much for a top-10 pick. Jeremiah Smith is heads and shoulders above him right now; also, I would take Becker over Coleman too.

  16. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

So, is it that I cannot post or that I cannot reply? Test

  17. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Man, word press if fucked today. Post not there, post not there, close the window, re-sign in, oh, SOME of the posts are there.

  18. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

I am not taking a WR in the first round.

I will lay money that Jeremiah Smith never wears a SB ring.

  19. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

    @DavidFurones_

Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley says there’s no thought of benching Malik Willis at this point. “We’ve played five games, and Malik is our quarterback.”

  20. mf13ss's avatar mf13ss says:

It seems to me that probably half the time, Willis is throwing while on the run. That’s not a slight to our O-Line… he’s just not pulling the trigger on his early reads, if he’s even reading early. He’s had ample time to throw the ball most of the time, with the exception of Awful Austin’s whiffs.

This is a Malik Willis issue in terms of accuracy and reading the field. Generally speaking, one is going to be less accurate while throwing on the run: bad mechanics, horrible planting, throwing off the back foot, etc.

He’s got to settle down some and plant after his drop. Instead, he’s got happy feet and ends up dancing/running around in the pocket… then throws on the run.

No, he’s not 6’5″… he’s 6’1″. Maybe he’s trying to find better passing lanes? I dunno, but he’s got to start planting and delivering more accurate throws, IMO.

As I stated yesterday, I don’t believe all of this is Willis’ fault, but he’s most certainly not guiltless. EVERYBODY needs to up their game, gain chemistry/trust, and play smarter football.

Great time for our BYE week to re-evaluate how we’re executing football fundamentals.

    NEW BLOG UP!!!!

  22. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

This season is what it is and already some of you are looking to bench guys. How did so many of you go from this team is not going to be good to we must make changes to win games? This team is building experience every week, they no prior experience together. Remember the word? 😜

  23. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Watching MNF every time a QB dumps the ball off to his checkdown, I’m thinking Willis would hold the ball

They need to take him, like a little kid, and have him watch tape of how other QBs do it. Mahomes would be my first choice
