After only 5 games, and that’s all it is folks, the resounding answer is he’s not the answer. At the moment, he’s more of the problem by far than the answer, but it is only 5 games with a new team, new OC, and a whole lot of receivers he’s basically playing together with in only 5 games, and one of the WR’s he seemed to have a nice chemistry with, WR Caleb Douglas, has been injured for the last 3 games. This past weekend, a bunch of us were at the Bengals game and we did not like what we saw from Malik Willis. In general, he seems to have a very poor sense of field and game awareness. While his escapability is a plus, his awareness seems to be a major negative. For instance, he escapes a sack, rolls to the right (which seems to be the only way he rolls away from pressure is to his right) and avoids a sack (temporarily) and then he can’t find anyone open and he’s way outside of the pocket and just has to throw the ball away and instead takes the sack. This would be fine if Willis was a rookie, but he’s a 4 year veteran and has made 27 starts. He should have had this drilled into his brain by now.
Another play that had me scratching my head was the 39 yard scramble by QB Malik Willis and for some reason, with no defenders in front of him but 2 defenders chasing from the sides, he decided to slide. To me, there’s no justification for that. He’s not a superstar QB on a team that’s headed to the playoffs and one play isn’t worth it. For all we know he might have scored on that play if they couldn’t catch him or bring him down. He could have protected the ball and taken it until they dragged him down. I was watching the Chargers vs Broncos, and believe me, I’m no Justin Herbert fan, but that guy finishes runs and takes contact. Yes, the Chargers are also 0-5 right now, so before you get yer panties in a bunch, I’m aware of that.As far as I’m concerned, this team could lose the next 5 with or without Malik Willis at QB, so play to win and finish the play.
Is there any chance that by the end of the season we think Malik Willis deserves the right to compete for the starting QB job in 2027? Sure, there’s a chance, but is it written in INK that he’s the starter no matter what? HELL to the NO. I don’t know where we’ll be drafting next year, I don’t know if any of the QB’s who will be eligible to drafted in the 2027 will legitimately be worthy of the #1 pick if that’s where we finish. It’s too early to decide anything right now on both counts, the future of Malik Willis and also which, if any college QB’s will deserve to be drafted #1 overall. Right now, Miami U QB Darian Mensah has played the best, and right behind him is Indiana QB Josh Hoover. Of course there is Arch Manning, Julian Sayin, Dante Moore, but Manning hasn’t played great and there’s always the chance he decides to play college ball for another year.
What I’m basically saying is we kind of just have to let things play out. If Malik Willis is still playing like he is now in Week 17, then I don’t care what Sully and Haf used to think about Malik Willis, they can’t put their heads in the sand and mark him down as the starter for next season, they have jobs to play for and keep. This year they get a mulligan, but if they don’t bring in an upgrade at QB over Willis if he has the same kind of season he’s been having, they won’t last here very long. They must, and will be held accountable for what they do in 2027. We’re still 12 games away from the end of the season, lots more to see from our QB and the rest of the team.
Our 2nd RD pick ILB Jacob Rodriguez didn’t have a stellar game this past weekend. He was beat for a TD twice, by both Cincinnati Bengals TE’s, former Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki, and then the other TE Tanner Hudson. Rodriguez has been so good, but Sunday’s game was sobering. Despite the 1 TD victory, None of us at the game felt the Dolphins were really in this game. Joe Burrow had far too much time, a repetitive theme that occurs each week. It appeared that DE Chop Robinson got a big sack but he was called offsides and it was nullified. Bengals RT Amarius Mims is huge, 6’8 350 and he seemed to engulf Chop on most plays, I was watching through binoculars a lot during the game to see the action better. Coming into this game, QB Joe Burrow had 7 TD’s and 3 INT’s. Now he has 11 TD’s and 3 INT’s, we made it easy for him. CB Juju Brents was evaluated for a concussion after a helmet to helmet collision. Both rookie CB Chris Johnson and last year’s 5th RD CB Jason Marshall took over on the outside for Juju Brents.
Hey! Did I mention that our special teams still really suck??? We deferred after winning the kickoff and immediately starts with an 81 yard kickoff return by Bengals KR/PR Dohnte Meyers, all the way to the Dolphins 10 yard line. How about this stat? The Bengals average starting point of al, of their drives was the Miami 49 yardline while the Dolphins average starting point was their own 24. If you want a positive, I’ll give you RB Ollie Gordon. To be fair, I’d wish he would stop celebrating after a 10 yard gain like he just scored the winning TD. In fact, behave like Green Bay Packers HC Vince Lombardi preached, when you score a TD, act like you’ve been there before. RB Barry Sanders always just handed the ball to the referee after scoring a TD, so after a 10 yard gain, just get back in the huddle and get into the endzone before you demonstratively celebrate your success. Just my 2 cents. K Riley Patterson missed an extra point, and this after we had converted a 2 PT conversion on the previous possession. I don’t like our K, P, and I definitely don’t like our ST’s Coach Chris Tabor. He needs to be on thin ice, because we can’t afford to spot teams much better field position and still expect our young squad to win games. ST’s is a young players game, and we have that in spades. Get it done!
Anyway, let me know your thoughts on Malik Willis, what you think we should do at QB next season, who you like at QB in the 2027 NFL Draft, and who you think can replace St’s Coach Chris Tabor
GO DOLPHINS!!!

This season is what it is and already some of you are looking to bench guys. How did so many of you go from this team is not going to be good to we must make changes to win games? This team is building experience every week, they have no prior experience together. Remember the word? 😜
It seems to me that probably half the time, Willis is throwing while on the run. That’s not a slight to our O-Line… he’s just not pulling the trigger on his early reads, if he’s even reading early. He’s had ample time to throw the ball most of the time, with the exception of Awful Austin’s whiffs.
This is a Malik Willis issue in terms of accuracy and reading the field. Generally speaking, one is going to be less accurate while throwing on the run: bad mechanics, horrible planting, throwing off the back foot, etc.
He’s got to settle down some and plant after his drop. Instead, he’s got happy feet and ends up dancing/running around in the pocket… then throws on the run.
No, he’s not 6’5″… he’s 6’1″. Maybe he’s trying to find better passing lanes? I dunno, but he’s got to start planting and delivering more accurate throws, IMO.
As I stated yesterday, I don’t believe all of this is Willis’ fault, but he’s most certainly not guiltless. EVERYBODY needs to up their game, gain chemistry/trust, and play smarter football.
Great time for our BYE week to re-evaluate how we’re executing football fundamentals.
Mike E,
As I stated yesterday (I know you were at the game!), there are a plethora of reasons why our Offense has yet to click… starting with Malik Willis.
I think he still has the opportunity to become everything Sully and Haf imagined, but it’s (THE WHOLE TEAM) a work in progress. Until everybody gets on the same page (they will, eventually), we cannot successfully evaluate at this time. JMO
Watched the highlights, and not that it really matters one way or the other, I think Riley Patterson’s extra-point was altered/deflected by a Bengals defender.
It’ll go down as a missed extra-point, but I’m not sure Patterson straight up missed it.
Almost need to see a different view to be definitive on this one.
I’ve only been able to see 2 games. One, the OL looked like they struggled. In the other, I thought they held up okay. There were issues, but the QB performance wasn’t their fault.
I watch lots of other games since I never get Miami on my channels. I see almost all QBs getting pressured. I’d say there are maybe 2 or 3 teams who’ve looked solid on the OL. I still favor big, strong pocket passers, but you gotta be able to move these days. You don’t need to run, but you need to manage the pocket and avoid pressure.
How many QBs coming out are guys with the physical talent and size to be able to do everything but need polish? We would appear to have time to coach up any QB we draft. There’s no reason to force him to play. Frankly, I wouldn’t be bothered if they took 2 QBs in 2027.
Thanks M – our perception is that he is not seeing the field well at all, and then sometimes even when he sees it, he’s reacting way too slow. Is he too short to see over the line? Possible, we saw Kevin Coleman get separation and by the time he either saw it or or threw it, no way we could know, he threw into coverage too damn late. I’m not sure if this is something he will get better at, I have my doubts, but I’m willing to give him the season to figure it out, or at least most of the season
He’s most certainly not hitting any hot reads or first reads, as Tua used to do. Dunno why that is. It may have something to do with Willis not throwing to a spot. He waits until he can verify a receiver is open.
SO many possibilities as to why it’s not worked out to date. Good time for a BYE week.
Mike E,
Here was my post-game feel on Willis. Questions, not answers. I think these questions need to be addressed, at least internally…

Observation: it’s rather obvious at this point in time that Bobby Slowick is NOT coaching Malik Willis to throw it to a spot on the field, ala Tua. Instead, Slowick is rolling with Willis’ style of play: see open receiver, let ‘er rip.
EVERYBODY has noticed that Willis is holding onto the ball far too long… why is that, exactly?
There MUST be a reason as to why Willis’ numbers are awful in the passing game so far this season, and I’m certain it’s correctable. I’m not absolving Willis of any blame, for he’s got a LOT to fix, starting with his footwork. IMO, he’s still a PROJECT… but with MASSIVE upside.
Yes, our BYE week comes at a good time for us to reassess, fix, highlight the highs and lows, and to reinforce football 101 (too many foolish penalties, for one).
It’s WAY too early to shelve Malik Willis. We MUST ascertain IF he’s our QB of the future. The sooner we figure that much out, it will determine whether we should address QB early in the ’27 Draft.
If Willis isn’t our QB of the future, it’s likely going to take the full season to render that decision… due to the contract we $igned him to. Now is not the time to bench him. Now is the time to see if he has what it takes to get out of the hole.
And for whatever it’s worth — in spite of his miserable day today — he brought us back to make it a one score game.
I think you understand that in no way am I saying Willis needs to be benched. I think you give him the season unless he really is just not showing any progress and you want to see how McCord can play, but that should be at least Week 12 or so.
Agreed.
I just asked Kurt Warner if he could do a breakdown on our Offense, as he had last season. Doubt he does it, being we’re not an interesting team this year. We’ll see what happens…
LaFleur designed a very specific offense for Willis. It was a very basic, run heavy, easy RPO game. It fit Willis perfectly. It isn’t necessarily how you win in the NFL now that teams know what Willis can do.
@Novig
No Falcons QB has made it through 10 passes without throwing an INT:
Cooper Rush: INT on 7th pass
Jack Strand: INT on 1st pass
Michael Penix Jr: INT on 3rd pass
Tua Tagovailoa: INT on 3rd pass

————
You lost me with this last sentence. Meaning, I don’t know what you are meaning to say.
Are you saying we can win with Willis under a LaFleur-style Offense, or are you saying the NFL has already figured out Willis?
Who’s Malik Willis’ go to guy? Malik Washington in that Welker/Edelman role, I see that. Who’s the next option? It’s just developing. Achane is gone. The entire offense is trying to learn each other. There is no history here.
^^^
EXACTLY! I even told a fellow Phin fan coworker today that Malik Washington reminds me very much of a young Davone Bess.
Fact of the matter is that the Chris Bell chemistry is just beginning (didn’t think he’d start the season!), and the Caleb Douglas chemistry is already there… but he’s missed the last couple of games due to injury.
It’s WAY too early to judge Malik, IMO. And like you stated, Tim… our #1 playmaker in Achane is lost for the season.
Tim – it’s more than just who is Willis’ go to guy. He’s not seeing when guys are open and he’s late when he does. He’s also been mostly inaccurate. We’ll see if he gets better when Caleb Douglas gets back, but he’s got to be better no matter what. What were your thoughts on his slide on his 36 yard scramble?
I didn’t see a lot of open. We’re rolling out rookies and 2nd year guys all over the roster.
For the record, and for the 3rd or 4th time, I’m sayin’ that Willis CAN do better. Make no mistake: he shares blame for our Offense floundering. He’s got to do better. Fix your mechanics, Malik.
He needs to fix his brain and start playing QB, instead of chuckit ball, that he’s been playing
I don’t care for Brady as the color commentator, but he’s been saying for years, you have to take the free yards you’re given. Its why he threw very few ints
Protect the ball, by taking the easy way, more often than not
I don’t know what Willis was thinking sliding. However we don’t get back in the game without him.
Truth.
And we would not be behind in the first place without him sucking. It sliced both ways.
M13,
The Rams are really the only team who have gone to more 2 TE sets and been successful. Other teams have copied them with less success and another team or two focus on heavier packages a bit more. Very few teams run it often. But, it has become a bit more used since the Rams went to it. Copycat league.
The whole point of running 2 TE sets is that you force the defense to defend the run or the pass…and you make them pay if they choose wrong. That ignores the fact that the Rams also have some of the best WRs and QB in the league. The Rams can exploit it. If you’re a team who nobody fears can throw the ball, then it’s kinda defeating the purpose. Teams will just stop the run and let you flounder in the passing game.
Teams know Willis can’t beat them with his arm out of the pocket. So, the run/pass threat that comes with 2 TE sets disappears.
Rams have the receivers/TEs that can block and catch passes, so when in 12 personnel they keep the D guessing
Saw a video a few months ago, that showed how they do it better than anyone else
M13,
I think the NFL figured out Willis years ago. Fans might hope he all of a sudden becomes something he’s never been, but I’d guess teams already had a pretty good idea of what he can and can’t do.
Not sure how you can come to that conclusion, when his issues, you’d think are correctable, and he hasn’t started enough games to say he can’t fix it
I expect we see a different Willis after the bye
He had support in GB and was able to play his playground style ball
Slow mental processing IS NOT correctable.
Slow mental processing is not correctable. Not in a significant way at least.
Malik played his worst game, even though we scored on O the most points of the season
Things that make you same hmmm
Every QB has bad games, this one was for retarded reasons, but its a sign of a good QB inspite of bad play he still scored
Weren’t the Bengals up by 3 scores after 3 quarters? Did we come back or did the Bengals just glide to a win without worrying too much if we put up numbers and scored a couple TDs with the last one in the last minute? I didn’t see the game, so I don’t know.

Watching MNF every time a QB dumps the ball off to his checkdown, I’m thinking Willis would hold the ball
They need to take him, like a little kid, and have him watch tape of how other QBs do it. Mahomes would be my first choice
*****
It drives me crazy that he’s not checking down
he’s missing a lot of open receivers and he’s not taking what the defense gives him – he’s basically making the game harder for himself
One of the concerns with Willis coming out was that he played hero ball and didn’t take what was there. Whether that was because he can’t read the field or can’t process fast or whatever….that’s been an issue since college.
Absolutely! Mark Schlereth pointed that out the entire game.
Coming out of the bye having Bell and Douglas could change everything on offense.
Happy Birthday Sonny! It was good to see ya pal!
Happy Birthday Son!! Have a great day!!
It’s all about timing and many of these guys haven’t played much together. However, Willis was off most of the day I agree he didn’t take what was there. It was one game and we were in the game until the end.
Happy Birthday Son! 🍰
Happy Birthday, Son!
Not sure how you can come to that conclusion, when his issues, you’d think are correctable, and he hasn’t started enough games to say he can’t fix it
I expect we see a different Willis after the bye
Why? you think his mental processing ability is going to suddenly speed up in one bye week when he has been slow for 5 years?
Happy Birthday old man Son
you finally reached the age where I can take you
Did not
oh, you say that now when we have screens between us. 😏
nice write up Mike. I feel like if Malik doesn’t start playing better and move the offense at some point there is gonna be QB change. He is on a shorter leash than Hafley lets out.
BTW happy birthday Son. hope you’re having a fantastic day!
Happy B-Day, Son! Make it a great one.
Justin Herbert is playing like a rookie. It’s not easy and so much goes into it. Steve Young said it took him 40 games to be the guy.
It’s the McDaniel effect. LOL
😂 he’s actually been regressing before MM.
Yeah, Steve Young and Rich Gannon are 2 QBs who had their best years in the 2nd half of their careers. Remember, Steve Young played for the LA Express for 2 years and TB for 2 years before being Montana’s backup for several years.
I believe Steve Young also said as a QB you need 40 starts to really get it and Brees said 50.
Most interesting…

These are some of the most controversial statements said in the newly unsealed Brian Flores memo made for the Raiders.
“Needs someone strong at the top to reign in some of his worst behavior.” “He once threatened violence to his GM and made irrational demands during an ownership meeting.”
“One long-time senior team executive said, ‘He may have changed since, but he was the worst hiring decision we’ve ever made.’ Another President of a club refused to talk about him.”
“He was able to build a strong friendship with a billionaire’s son which gave him opportunities to socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar and upper-class individuals.”
“Has little people skills, lacks self-awareness and can sometimes exhibit erratic behavior.” “His personality is unpredictable – not sure who is going to show up.”
“Wants to be a CEO-type Head Coach but micro-manages in a negative manner.”
“Chip on his shoulder – can be a dictator with players, coaches, and can even be difficult with ownership.”

Roster Moves | We have waived wide receiver Ryan Miller and claimed wide receiver Jared Wayne off waivers from Houston. We have also signed defensive lineman Jordan Jefferson to the practice squad and released defensive lineman Mazi Smith from the practice squad.

Roster Moves | We have signed quarterback Brady Cook to the practice squad and released running back Jarquez Hunter from the practice squad.
At least now we know why we signed PSU standout Kaytron Allen. No idea why Jarquez Hunter didn’t work for us.

And the fun has just begun. Guaranteed he’s going to squeal on either Silly Shit (Puffy) or Suge Knight… perhaps BOTH.
Prediction: he gets murdered in jail.
BBM,
Haven’t seen ya post in several days, Brother… that’s unlike you at this time of year. Hope all is well with ya.
That hurricane went through his town. I hope just the power is out and nothing worse.
Here’s a headline some stupid fuck wrote
Deandre Ayton’s passing gives further evidence…
The story was about the assists he got in the last Wizard’s game compared to last year on the Lakers
Thanks for the B-day wishes. You guys are awesome.
Hey! Finally got internet back. Got power back after only 3 days. I am so stupid for not switching from using a cable company for internet. All is well though. Spent the first couple days helping the old people who live around me. I didn’t get to start on my own yard until 2 days ago. lol No structural damage to house or sheds. We were just on the west side of the eye so the worst of it starts about 10 miles easts of me. Our highest gust where I live was only 102mph and that was from one band that lasted about 30 minutes when the eye hit Ft Walton and Destin. Something must have happened to the cell towers near me because I couldn’t even use internet on my phone.
Back to some football!
I am happy to hear you are all good! we were worried for a few days.
Try this again. Word press is so fucked up!
I am really glad to hear you are all good. We were worried about you for a couple of days there! Happy you are fine.
Happy belated birthday Son! Mine is in 4 days, #62.
Talking about Willis. Him not having anticipation on throws is not the problem. There are a good number of successful NFL QB’s who throw without having that skill set.
His problem is his height. Short QB’s can be successful if they have good anticipation. When you don’t have good anticipation and you are short, that’s not a good combination and that problem will never go away or can be fixed. He will only get better if the passing game is tweaked to fit his skills more.
Willis is a little shorter than Tua. He’s actually only 6’0 1/2. The left side of the OL is 6’7 and 6’7. The right side is 6’5 and 6’5. He has to be able to see the open guy and he can’t or struggles with it. He’s not going to be able to see a TE checking down in the soft spot of zone coverage just on the other side of two OL who are 7″ taller than him.
The farther the receivers are down field the vision gets a little better but the problem still exists. Unless the check down is in the flat, he is not going to see it.
No matter how much I like Trinidad Chamliss, I can’t pull the trigger on a another short QB.
LOL, when she mentions the Dolphins, she is putting on an Ohio State jersey over her Dolphins jersey. Is that suggesting they should draft Jeremiah Smith? I don’t know but lends me to believe that.
BTW, you will love her last joke. LMAO!
I loved this pickup. He was my fav of the 2 Penn State RB’s.
Yet Malik Willis can never see him open….
Or the ball gets there late
Conner Weigman continues to impress with his accuracy and with his legs. I love his quick release. He is climbing my draft board every week. From last game.
Can’t wait for this weekends matchup with Drew Mestemaker and Oklahoma State vs Conner Weigman and Houston.
Houston TE Overmeyer is interesting also
This is getting so frustrating I am just going to stop trying to post anything here.
If this post doesn’t go through, I quit.
It went through
I wish we had some control over WordPress

BBM,
Great to hear you are safe and sound, Brother! And same here: I prefer Kaytron Allen over Nicholas Singleton in the NFL. To me, that’s an outstanding signing for us.
Curious to know why the Redskins released Kaytron and why Jarquez Hunter didn’t work out for us after all.
I think the Redskins were going to re-sign him to their PS but it blew up in their face.
RE-SIGN! YOU DID IT! 🤣😎
Props, bud!!!
I despise trying to look like a ‘grammar nazi’, but that’s one that always gets to me… resign vs re-sign, being they are polar opposites in employment condition.
Kadyn Proctor is going to be a good one for us.
Pressures allowed (per PFF, threshold of 50% league snaps)
Patrick Paul: 12 (#39 of 63 Tackles)
Austin Jackson: 19 (#61 of 63 Tackles)
Jonah Savaiinaea: 8 (#24 of 54 Guards)
Kadyn Proctor: 10 (#31 of 54 Guards)
Aaron Brewer: 5 (#9 of 31 Centers)
We’re looking fairly good on the interior, but our Tackles aren’t up to snuff in pass-pro… especially ‘Awful Austin’.
Run-blocking efficiency (per PFF, threshold of 50% league snaps)
Patrick Paul: 60.7 (#38 of 63 Tackles)
Austin Jackson: 55.3 (#51 of 63 Tackles)
Kadyn Proctor: 69.3 (#18 of 54 Guards)
Jonah Savaiinaea: 51.5 (#46 of 54 Guards)
Aaron Brewer: 76.0 (#3 of 31 Centers)
Again, our Tackles aren’t up to snuff in the running game. And this is where Big Jonah suffers the most.
ALL of this could change as our O-Line continues to gel, but ‘Awful Austin’ is going to get voted off the island, as it were. And I hear that some teams might be interested in trading for Austin? For what, a conditional 12th rounder? I’m hearing nonsense.
Prepare to draft a Tackle no later than day 2 of the ’27 NFL Draft, unless we throw $$$ at a FA Tackle.
By the way, Patrick Paul has GOT to do/get better than what he’s done thus far in ’26. Franchise LT? I’m not seeing it to date.
I have mentioned getting the Rams starting RT in free agency. He’s not top dollar but much better than Jackson. He’s also still young coming off his rookie contract.
Patrick Paul and Kayden Proctor are going to be the left side for years to come. Fuck the nerd grades, it’s bullshit!
Yep!
Here we go Brewers, here we go!
WTF is up with WordPress??? Couldn’t post earlier this morning.
GO BREWERS!!! Fuck the Dodgers!!!
Same here. I thought Bookman broke the blog with the Brewers post. lol
The curse of MM
Herbert is the 30th ranked QB in the NFL. Willis is #27.
Justin Hebert used to be a good quarterback. He isn’t one right now. He co-leads the NFL in interceptions (seven) and turnovers (nine). He is also the first quarterback in NFL history to start 0-5 with an interception and multiple sacks taken in each of his team’s first five games, per CBS Sports Research. He also doesn’t have a single touchdown in the fourth quarter this season, while giving the ball away six times. Herbert and the Chargers’ offense are currently broken. (-1)
I read an article about what the Dolphins could do in free agency. Really not worth posting. First, he talks about Sully in that:
“However, there are a few key tenets that he has already made clear. The main two are:
He will not compromise on either.”
Then he goes on to mention 3 players who have character issues in the article, one being Puca Nacua who will cost big money.
Second, he talks about spending big money on Puca Nacua and drafting Jeremiah Smith to have Douglas, Nacua, Bell, Jeremiah Smith and Washington at WR. Why Nacua? Just add Smith and save the money for elsewhere.
Never in the article does he address free agent OL.
I did like the thought of adding TE Sam LaPorta that he mentioned. Jeremiah Smith, Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Malik Washington with Sam LaPorta and Will Kacmarek at TE and Achane would be nice!
Another player who could be a possibility he mentioned is Packers CB Carrington Valentine who appeared in 49 games with 30 starts for Hafley in GB. Valentine is currently GB’s #2 CB behind Rookie Brandon Cisse.
Keeping tabs on QB Conner Weigman, I am starting to like Houston senior TE Patrick Overmyer, 6’5, 240. Through 5 games he has 33 rec for 400 yards and 6 TD’s. Good running after the catch.
They say he runs in the 4.5’s.
Screw Arch Manning and Dante Moore who can’t put the team on his back.
Give me Conner Weigman as a day 3 steal. Again 6’3 210 and he has many traits that will transfer well to the NFL in his arm talent, quick release, pocket presence and ability to escape/run and progression reads. Through 5 games he has thrown for 1428 yards with 15 TD’s to only 1 INT. He also has ran for 177 yards and 6 TD’s.

Picking them up #1 & #33 would be unlikely.
Not that Kiper is the know all guy.
I see Mensah as QB1. I think if they all enter the draft, Mestemaker could be the 2nd to 6th QB taken. This simulator Mensah, Moore, Manning and Sayin went in the 1st round. I chose Mestemaker over Carr this time at pick #33. If Mestemaker keeps it up, he should go in the 1st round.
This still sucks toads.
I have to completely leave / close out of the site and then sign back in again to see if my posts go through. Just refreshing the page does not show my posts. I have to actually close out the tab, log out and then log back in. AFTER EACH POST!!
Is that with just your phone or with computer also? I have no issues like this when I use my computer.
PC and Iphone
The 2 people who’s rankings I never go by are Kiper and McShay.
This will be the first week we do not lose a game….
NEXT week will be our first win…
WHAT?!? We actualy have OL depth?!?
WordPress is likely maintained by silly people. It’s a fucking blog, what’s the fucking issue with allowing people to type and post a link? 😂
“silly people”… 🤣
And not definitively one way or the other, rather “likely”!
🤣
😂
WordPress is entering the chat….
I have talked with an agent. I have been able to describe some of our issues and he was able to see for himself what some of them are. It would be helpful if everyone could post their grievances so we can maybe can get things back to ‘normal’.
Some of the things I mentioned:
Backspacing causes an entire comment to be deleted prior to posting.
Having to log in over and over and over.
Sometimes not being able to add to or edit a comment prior to posting, cursor disappears and have to start over.
Please add to this list EVERYTHING you can think of. I know my list isn’t complete.
THANK YOU, HERD!!!
Here’s an issue I commonly have: WordPress says I’m currently logged in, so I post. But when I try to post, it says I’m not logged in.
So I have to log out, and then it asks me if I really want to log out. That would mean I’m already logged in, right? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE, WORDPRESS!
Hey herd and everyone, Tony here. I’m one of the developers behind this comment box. Thanks for the list, it pointed us right at what was going wrong, and we just pushed some fixes that should be live within the hour.
If you sign in with the WordPress.com button, your comments were getting treated like an anonymous visitor’s, which is why so many landed in spam. They count as coming from your account again now. That should also fix the page jumping to the top and your comment not showing up until you refreshed a couple of times.
The backspace thing is fixed too. Undo was grabbing way more than it should, so whole comments vanished along with the cursor. Now it only undoes the last thing you did.
The Thursday morning when nobody could post was a separate bug, fixed the same day.
One small favor: if you use the WordPress.com button, log out of the comment box and sign back in once. That way the spam fix kicks in now instead of in a few weeks.
If anything’s still acting weird, reply here with what happened and whether you were on your phone or a computer, and I’ll take a look.
This morning, none of us were able to post comments.
Rock has mentioned posts disappearing
Also, not being able to get posts through, they were going to spam
I expressed our frustration as clearly as possible to the agent. He’s going to look at some things. We might see some changes in the comment box to try to fix things. It’s already tomorrow where he is located and with it being Friday, he is supposed to be back in touch perhaps on Monday.
Now we wait…
Thank you kindly, Herd. You are appreciated!
Quite honestly, I think we’re going to see a better Malik Willis after our BYE week. Why? Because the FO and coaching staff (along with the rest of the NFL) can clearly see that whatever we’ve been trying to do in the passing game isn’t working… and we have a BYE week to address/correct some issues.
I’ve traditionally despised early BYE weeks, but with the way our passing game has been (not) going, it’s the perfect time to make adjustments/tweaks for Malik Willis to succeed for the rest of the season.
NO guarantees from me that Willis is suddenly going to become Superman. However, if we look at the tape from the first 5 games this season, there is MUCH we can decode/decipher/analyze and improve upon… and hopefully FIX.
We’ll see what happens…
Maybe but I also don’t have total confidence in Slowik to get it done.
Noted, and agree.
I have a feeling that Slowick won’t be our OC next season.
No one has been able to teach him to read the field so far. What makes you think an extra week will do the trick? I predict we see the same guy against the Jets.
What I do like about Slowick is he sticks with the run and he takes deep shots.
I DO like that as well.
I just wish Malik Willis would take the easy yards in order to move the sticks.
Make no mistake: deep shots are necessary to keep opposing Defenses honest… and Willis has a cannon.
You would think during the bye somebody would give him an ultimatum, take the free short yards at times or you’re going to the bench
Yeah it’s on video.
Chris Grier I think wrote this article
https://dolphinstalk.com/2026/10/miami-dolphins-2027-roster-changes-rebuild/
You don’t go for it in FA, unless you have a very good QB, thats ready to take the next step with the additional talent boost
What did we do previously? Used FA everytime to be competitive, I guess to make the playoffs
If that’s Sully and Hafley’s goal, just send them back to GB
That was the article I was talking about earlier that I didn’t care to post. Yes, you shouldn’t go for it in F/A unless you have your QB.
However, if the players are young and you sign them for like a 4 year deal then it makes sense, like Sam LaPorta and Edge Young.
Herd – Thanks for taking care of the blog issues! You’re the best!
^
Brewers!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow a sweep .. congrats to you.
Unbelievable!
Congrats bookman!! Way to represent our division
Nope, no change yet. Still have disappearing posts.
Yup, wordpress is still trash.
Congratulations Bookman! So glad you beat the Dodgers, I hate them as much as I used to hate the Patriots
I see the one major thing that needs to happen during the bye week but hasn’t happened and probably won’t, fire the ST coach.
Loser – STC Chris Tabor
We have our first coach on one of these lists, and it’s been a long time coming for special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. Between the punting, kicking, returning, and especially fielding, this has been a horrific start to the season for the Dolphins, and the blame needs to fall on someone.
I agree he should be gone this week
Hey everyone, I ironically caught this comment waiting to be approved.

Thanks MikeE!
I don’t want to log out and log back in right now because I don’t remember my wordpress password and don’t feel like resetting it right now.
Is there anyway we can convince Tony to stop changing things, so we can follow a consistent method when we post….lol
I think for most of us the frustration is partly because this is a new thing
I miss the days of being able to post gofs and photos with ease just by including them on the chat box – I don’t know what that ever changed
I also miss just being logged on when I’m here and posting instead of having log in all the time
I feel like some of the things WordPress is doing is in theory creating better quality but in practice just always changing things around and leaving it for us to figure it out
Emoji issues. It doesn’t happen with me, but others have issues with emojis in that they appear HUGE! It would be funny if it wasn’t so annoying. I’ll try to find a recent example for reference and link it if needed.

Lmao that’s funny he got hung up in approval
lol
That one I can explain. We hold the first comment from a new person in moderation to keep spam off the board. Once the first one is approved it shouldn’t be a problem going forward. I think we’ll still have an issue with multiple links in the same post. If my memory serves me correctly we have that set at 3 links per comment. That’s why some of the mock drafts get held up with a link for every player. I know posts with less than 3 also get held up as spam and I have no clue why that happens.
Piggy, I think you and I both liked RB Jerome Ford back when he was in the draft. The Dolphins had a workout with him 2 days ago even though we had already picked up Kaytron Allen from waivers. Carlos Washington is the only RB on the PS but they currently are no roster spots open on the PS.
I know they are going to constantly churn the PS looking for guys, but I wonder if RB Wright could be a trade deadline candidate. He won’t get us much, but it could be a possibility.
Sully’s been busy. We also worked out this week:
QB Jacob Clark, 6’5, 230 who was a 2026 UDFA out of Missouri State who spent the off season and TC with the Raiders.
CB Cobee Bryant, 6’0, 180 who was a 2025 UDFA out of Kansas who spent 2025 on the Falcons PS. He was activated to their 53 and appeared in 7 games with 102 snaps on defense.
CB Dwight McGlothern, 6’2, 185 who was a 2024 UDFA out of Arkansas/LSU who signed as a UDFA in 2024 with the Vikings and made their 53 man roster and appeared in 5 games. Again, on the Vikings 53 in 2025 and appeared in 8 games. In 2026 he was released in TC with an injury designation. He’s healthy now.
Center Jaren Kump, 6’6, 315 who was a 2026 UDFA out of Utah where he appeared in 59 games with 40 starts. Started at least 1 game at every position on the OL. He signed with the Bears as a UDFA after this past draft and spent the whole off season and TC with the Bears until final cuts.
Edge/OLB Jahfari Harvey, 6’2, 255 who was a 2025 UDFA out of SMU though he played most of his college career at the University of Miami. He signed with the Raiders in 2025 and was on their PS and activated for 2 games.
LB Jeremiah Moon, 6’5, 249 who was a 2022 UDFA out of UF. He has spent time on the PS and active rosters for the Ravens, Steelers and Panthers since 2022 and appeared in 26 games with 2 starts. He was a ST ace at UF and been a quality ST’er in the NFL also.
TE Messiah Swinson, 6’7, 259 who was a 2024 UDFA out of Arizona State. He signed with the Packers and spent 2024 on their PS. Spent 2025 between the 49er’s and Cardinals PS. Spent this off season and TC back with the Packers but released at final cuts.
OT(RT) Da’Metrius Weatherspoon, 6’6, 306 who was a 2026 UDFA out of Syracuse. He was in the Bills off season and TC but released at final cuts and was on the Patriots PS but recently released.
BBM – I was talking with Sonny (Son of a son of a Shula) at the Fest. You know his affinity for big boy QB’s. He’d probably be smitten by QB Jacob Clark
Or the one I just posted about below
Well, I got him with the 33rd pick but, in reality, he won’t last that far.
“In fact, Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski recently projected that the Dolphins will land Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker with pick No. 3 overall.”
“Mestemaker has arguably the best physical toolbox among next year’s quarterback class,” Sobleski wrote. “He’s also a gamer. He presents the arm talent to attack the entire field when working inside and outside the pocket. Once his plus-level athleticism is added to the mix, he becomes a threat to break contain and make plays with his rushing ability.”
