A Sonny Football Fantasy
NDominant Suh
By son of a son of a shula
Ndamakong Suh is a Miami Dolphin. Has that sunk in yet? I honestly still can’t believe that it’s true, that one of the premiere marquee players in the league and a Son favorite is actually on our team. Well here’s how his first season in Miami played out in this Sonny Fantasy.
It’s late January in 2016 and the Dolphins are in contention to go to the Super Bowl all they need is one more win. Leading the way is a stellar Dolphin Defensive line led by none other than Ndamakong Suh. Suh has wreaked havoc across the NFL in the 2015 season; he’s been by and large unblockable and considered by most a shoe in for Defensive Player of the Year. The first in Miami since Jason Taylor earned the honor following the 2006 season.
NDominant Suh as he began to be called was the main thrust for a Miami team that had trouble passing the 8-8 mark the last couple of years. With 75 tackles, 9 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 2 which he recovered and his pick 6 TD were amazing and he allowed the rest of the defense to make plays while garnering so much attention. Suh consistently fought off double and triple teams to make big plays. It was his presence that allowed a middle of the road defense to soar to dominance.
Suh came to Miami as a free agent with the intention of putting together a Championship laden career and to cement a place for himself in Canton as one of the games greats. Without wasting any time Suh went out and established himself and the Dolphins defense as one of the best in the league. Bringing back memories for Dolphin fans of the famous “No Name” defense opponents found it almost impossible to establish a running game with Suh clogging the interior of the line. Passing wasn’t much easier as teams found themselves engulfed in a relentless pass rush which featured Cameron Wake having his best season as a pro earning 16 ½ sacks and a third consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl.
It was the Dolphin Defense that led the way but a much improved Offense under second year Coordinator Bill Lazor showed that Miami was on the way to being a powerhouse. Rookie running back Todd Gurley who led all rookies in rushing and is in the running for Rookie of the Year was the missing piece for the Dolphins who became a team capable of running the clock as they dominated opponents in time of possession. Another key for the Dolphins was the health and well being of the offensive line which for the first time in several seasons wasn’t besieged by injuries. Ryan Tannehill built on his previous three seasons by turning in his best season as a pro and leading the Fins offense to the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 season.
In his latest interview Coach Joe Philbin had this to say about Suh, “In all of my years of coaching and being around football I have never seen a more dominant season by an interior lineman.” Philbin likely had his job saved by Suh as he entered the season where many considered it a make or break year for him. With the signing of Suh, Philbin took advantage and put together a playoff squad poised to battle for the chance to play for a Lombardi trophy.
All is well in Miami.
I have a couple of FU’s to give out:
The guy at the store: I’m putting my card into my wallet, you can see that, so you don’t have to shove the receipt under my nose and say “here’s your receipt. FU, I know.
To Apple and this facacta safari browser: Why don’t you have an end button or why don’t you go back to where I was after I refresh. I hate scrolling ALL the way down every time, it’s not even scrolling it’s like finger banging your phone – FU.
And FU to the Patriots, simply on general principal

Titans signed WR Hakeem Nicks, formerly of the Colts.
The NFL’s version of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Titans love old, run-down, has-beens. Add Nicks to a pile that already included Harry Douglas, Anthony Fasano, Kam Wimbley, and Shonn Greene. Nicks tried to rehab his value in Indianapolis with the game’s best young passer last season and still did little, struggling to a 38-405-4 line before seeing his snaps cut in favor of Donte Moncrief. Nicks is just 27, but plays like he’s 37. Even for disappointing Justin Hunter, Nicks is unlikely to provide serious competition.

We did good getting Jennings….but I knew he knew he still has Game, so he sidestepped teams like this & Jax. He wants to win going out.
LMFAO
@RapSheet: Not ideal RT @MikeGarafolo: From me and @alexmarvez: Greg Hardy involved in verbal altercation with Cowboys teammate Davon Coleman today
@flasportsbuzz: … And that would put DEs Beasley, Gregory (if they fall) as options at 14 besides the 4 CBs; 2-3 WRs, La’el Collins, Gurley,Gordon,Shelton
4 CBs????
I don;t think 4 CBs are an option at 14
maybe 2 are
I don’t see us going after Shelton now at all.
He’s a good player who might drop
Its really starting to look like Jordan will not be a part of the team in 2015
That would be a blow, more cause of the waste than what he might bring to the table. I’m hoping it is draft smoke to make other teams think we might take a DE or OLB.

You guys in Fl. see this about gas skimmers?

NDominant Suh – not one comment, I came up with that my damn self.
LOL — it’s good. So good I was left in typeless awe. 🙂
yeah, yeah
Its oinking nice
Ndominus SUH
Write you’re own fucking story, lol
I’ve contemplated writing one, but it would be a very U informative one like most of my posts 😄
yeah, I didn’t get anything back with Donkey Kong Suh either, so…
Tough room
Well I came up with “SpurMania”..
Ok, no I didn’t- but still…
“If you’re winning 37-0, or losing 37-0 is that player the same guy,” Mike Tannenbaum said about finding players with fire and heart.

Okay its not just me – its my class – but you can see me int he pic
Awesome, you’re looking good man
My head is shiny from sweat…lol
Very nice- very ethnically diverse. How American.
Nice pic of you……you look like you are just waiting for the next play to get some QB lunch.
The girl in the pic below the one you are in looks great
one of the differences between contenders and non-contenders is that contenders don’t give up a 1st and a 2nd for a player that they dump 2 years after drafting. SMH.
Right now everyone is saying we’re getting rid of the stench of Ireland out of this organization. I’m sure in a few years we’ll be saying we’re getting rid of the stench of Hickey and Philbin.
You either get rid of the stench or you get our LBing crew from last yr. Sometimes you have to take a step back first. I think we took one back and several forward.
Eeyore
sooo, my wife took our home computer and printer last week. (Agreed to in the divorce agreement) and my boss heard about it and says “how are you going to work from from home without a computer?”
I said, well I’m going to get a new computer.
“when?
Well boss, whenever I can. It’s not on the top of my priorities right now. You know, it goes mortgage, utilities, credit cards, then food, then everything else and then a new computer.
“Get with Brad (our comptroller) and let him know what kind of computer you are looking at. He has his connections through the IT guys and he can probably get it cheaper than you can.”
Ok boss.
an hour later…”Did you get with Brad?”
No, he isn’t in yet. He doesn’t come in until 9am.
“well get with him as soon as he gets in”
Ok
an hour later……”did you get with Brad?”
No he was busy when I went to see him with the tax people for the audit.
“get with him”
Ok
an hour later…..”did you get with Brad?”
yes, he said he will get with the IT guys and price out some options and then get back to me.
“have him get back to me”
Why?
“because if I’m going to buy you a new computer I want to know how much I’m spending.”
Huh? “you heard me, I’m BUYING you the computer, now go back to work”
Thanks Boss. I appreciate that. “Well you need to have one so you can work from home”
…….Ok boss thanks
Look at that a break for Rockphin. Way to go boss man
Cool beans. Sounds like you are appreciated.
So the new computer came UPS today and I was in the lobby when the UPS guy arrived and he asked if I could sign for the package. I looked at the box and said to myself “this is my new computer” It was addressed to Brad so I brought it to him and said “I think this is my new computer” He says “well let’s see” and opens it. “Yep, that’s your new computer”
COOL I say. Gimme! He says “NOPE. It’s not yours until I give it to you.”
HUH? What the fuck does that mean?
“It means that IT IS NOT YOURS UNTIL I GIVE IT TO YOU.”
Come on many stop fucking with me. Gimme.
“Ok, here you go….you can have it now…………OR you can wait until Monday when the IT guys have installed the extra 24gigs of ram I bought for it, installs the new print driver for the new wide format color printer / scanner I bought you too, installs the new office suite software, word, excel, outlook, etc which would cost you about $250.00, sets up everything so you have no problems and then you can take it…..”
Hmmmmm I’ll take it Monday thanks.
“I thought you’d say that”
ROFLMAO!
NICE working my ass of finally pays off besides in my pay check.
One nice thing about the schedule: “The Miami Dolphins….don’t play any games against teams coming off a bye or a Thursday night game.”
Good, that happened almost every week last year.
I was going to check that. I figured after last year they would try to dick us the same way this year. Good to hear!
Rock, The worm has definitely turned for you…
Great Movie…
That is cool Rockphin
Occasionally we get appreciated
Now stop blogging and GET BACK TO WORK
(Piggy cracks whip)
ROFLMAO!! I ALMOST feel guilty…..almost.
Our company instituted a drug free work place policy last week. I ignored the papers that HR put in my box. The HR lady comes to me and says “you need to sign these papers” I said, oh, yeah, I was busy. I’ll get to it.
when she left my office I went to the bosses office and said, we have an issue. “Sigh, what now Martin?”
I’m not going to pass any drug tests man…
“yeah, I know pot head, you are exempt. I will make sure you do not get selected. now go back to work and win me some projects”
Okey Dokey boss man. Thanks!
LOL
I get away with more shit than any other employee here.
steve,
I just hope Jordan doesn’t become a probowler for another team. That would just piss me off majorly because it means this FO was not competent enough to understand how to use him correctly.
Yes Jordan is very complicated. How about being at the voluntary workouts with the rest of your teammates.
Lets hope he doesn’t tear it up with another team.
Well, there goes my Mychal Kendricks for Dion Jordan speculation.
NJ.com’s Mark Eckel passes along a “rumor making its rounds in NFL personnel meetings” of the Eagles trading Sam Bradford to the Browns for the No. 19 overall pick in the draft.
The Browns already offered No. 19 to the Rams for Bradford, prior to his trade to Philadelphia. St. Louis didn’t accept because it wanted a quarterback, and wound up acquiring Nick Foles. The Browns are “still said to have interest” in Bradford. Per Eckel, the rumor has the Eagles then sending Nos. 19 and 20 — plus Mychal Kendricks and Fletcher Cox — to the Titans in exchange for No. 2 overall, where Philly would select Marcus Mariota. Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole reported Friday that Bradford currently believes the Eagles may be planning to trade him.
ps. If the Browns make this deal, they’re beyond stupid. Ray Farmer….rotflmao
LOL @ Son on Eeyore
Jordan not showing up….is anyone else nervous he blows a drug test? Then trade value is SHIT!
It’s possible, but I question his desire to play this game.
Right, which means desire to sit around doing drugs.
Dennis Hickey said #Dolphins must keep Ryan Tannehill “upright”
Lets see, Jordan is a lazy fuck with a poor attitude and drug issues, but none of this was evident to our stellar talent evaluators who were so impressed by this budding superstar that they traded up for him … Thanks Jeffy…
Chris Wesseling at NFL.com brings it harsh about if the Phins are shopping Jordan.
“It’s fair to question if Jordan will bring anything more than a mid-round pick in return. A thin-framed pass rusher without an NFL position to date, Jordan is also one more failed drug test away from a lengthy suspension.”
what a waste of talent.
ENSENADA, Chile (AP) — Twin blasts from the Calbuco volcano in southern Chile sent vast clouds of ash into the sky, covering this small town with thick soot and raising concerns Thursday that the dust could contaminate water, cause respiratory illnesses and ground more flights.

LMAO
Bat
It does seem like a dramatic turnaround with Jordan
I never heard a thing about a poor work ethic until this week
I think part of the negative is a little overblown
Are we really discussing Jordan’s “trade value”? .. That goes in the category of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Climate Change
Kelly seemed to really want him, but that was a year ago.

Piggy … Just hard to believe that a player who had no real position, marginal college numbers and an apparently flawed character was so coveted by the imbeciles running our draft.
You forgot – was coming off an injury
He was pretty highly ranked on most websites before the draft
So I don’t know that it was a reach or anything like that
Bu maybe other teams saw what we didn’t
Here is the salt int he wound – maybe Oakland saw nothing special and was willing to move back . actually Oakland’s pick was even worse than ours
If he doesn’t get us anything in return, just keep him
footnote* I said the same thing about wallace
Piggy …LOL ..I forgot about the injury ..that’s a big selling point for Ireland …

LMAO !! Remember when Jeffy Boy had all those picks and $$$ a few years back?!? I will NEVER understand anyone in their right mind defending that turd when he drafted possibly the BIGGEST bust in Fins history, Dion Jordan.
ummm Teddy Ginn JR…..
Ted Ginn Jr. actually played in many games and I believe single-handedly beat the NY Jets on a Monday night game returning 2 kicks for touchdowns….nuff said.
LOL ….
http://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/jeff-ireland-should-get-fired-after-dolphins-collapse-against-the-jets-6537013
You might feel pity for him
But Ireland wonders what his 40 time is…
Bat, Jordan was considered top 5 by just about everyone and there weren’t any red flags except he needs to refine his skills and get a little bigger and stronger. Not sure what’s going on with him.
I didn’t mean to leave out the shoulder injury.
Honestly I am worried that if we give up on him he flourishes elsewhere
No question he was considered top 5 talent prior to our move up
If Jordan fails as a Dolphin and succeeds elsewhere – I’m inclined to blame coaching, not Ireland
If eh just fails all together, I will blame Dion Jordan and maybe Ireland a little
If he succeeds for us, I will celebrate patience….lol
I’m hoping they’re just being coy about Jordan who hopefully was told not to show up because he’s being traded, but we didn’t want to say it. I’m holding out hope that this is not a major clusterfuck.
Me too, that was my first thought when he didn’t show up day one.
So the Miami Brass declines to comment on a player not attending VOLUNTARY workouts and the media and many on this board run with it. “all signs say he won’t be with the Dolphins this year”
COME ON!!! some of you like to wallow in negativity more than piggy loves to wallow in mud made from beer!
It might be beer but its beer from someone’s rear
Jordan’s stats: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/15800/dion-jordan
Don’t know who this guy “Richner” is, but I wish he had been our GM
Richner pre-draft report
Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon
In 45 career games, Dion Jordan had a total of 49.5 impact plays for an average of 1.10. This ranks 19th amongst all pass rushers in this year’s draft class. Jordan failed to show up against quality competition; instead, he made a few highlight tape moments against weaker, less formidable opponents. Below is a chart that shows the teams Jordan registered a sack against last season (five in all), and the opponents’ NCAA rankings in terms of sacks allowed AND the average number of sacks these respected teams gave up per game last year.
Sacks Allowed Rankings Avg. # of sacks allowed per game
Fresno State 78 2.2
Tennessee Tech FCS 2.0
Washington State 120 4.8
Arizona State 102 2.9
Avg. 106.3 3.0
The highest-ranked team is Tennessee Tech, but they play in the FCS level of college football. On average, these teams gave up close to three sacks a game last season. To put this in perspective, the National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide allowed, on average, 1.64 sacks a game last season, which ranks them 46th in the country.
Of the roughly 150 current and former elite pass rushers in the NFL that make up our Pass Rushers Report, only 28 of them had 14.5 or fewer sacks for their college careers. This accounts for only 18.6% of the players in the study. In the report, I recommended that teams focus on players who have achieved at least 18.5 career sacks in college. There are a total of 98 players who have achieved this mark, which is 65.3% of the entire collection.
Dion Jordan had 14.5 sacks throughout his college career, yet NFL scouts and media are enamored with his length and athleticism. The question I keep coming back to when I read scouting reports on Jordan is, why didn’t he showcase this speed and athletic prowess during games? Hard to imagine that a player who was ranked 85th in the conference in tackles per game at 3.67 is going to be a top ten selection. He was ranked 19th in the conference in TFL, third on his own team. Lastly, he ranked 21st in the conference in sacks at 0.42 sacks a game. Yet, when he lines up across from the likes of Joe Thomas, Russell Okung or Joe Staley, scouts believe he will have no problem getting after the quarterback?
Imagine getting paid to write a story about this
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000487983/article/tannenbaum-hickey-owns-final-say-over-draft-roster
I want to draft Gurley because if we don’t, either San Diego or Baltimore or New England will and we have to play all 3 this year and frequently thereafter. I would hate for him to go all Adrian on us and be in the way of us getting deep in the playoffs, so we are always saying “we could’ve drafted him, but we took a whatever instead.”
We can get corners and linemen and receivers every year. We need a superstar. Even if an OL would be better for us this year than a RB, just having Gurley’s career be with us instead of the cheatriots is reason enough to draft him.
(I know he might go to Dallas, but that is less of a problem for us.)
We play Dallas too
We have to play the guy Baltimore, New England and San Diego draft anyway
even if its not Gurley
I dount the Cheats draft Gurley
I recall this vividly — don’t remember Dion Jordan doing squat to help us win any games:
In the Ravens games I went to in 2013
Jordan caused the pressure which lead to the Jones interception
which gave us the lead for the game
Ask Son and Stanger we were sitting together when it happened
We had a late lead
Then Jordan didn;t play in the final series
and the Ravnes went down the field and set up a FG to win the game
But Jordan made 1 big play as a rookie to help us wint hat game
I never understood why our brilliant coaching staff had him on special teams and not in the games to pressure the QB. I’d be rooting for him if he was not a complete moron and got himself suspended twice in one season. Maybe he’s just immature idk.
I kind of feel like we’ve barely seen Jordan play
He made some plays as a rookie – when they played him
Then he was suspended for 6 games
then they didn;t use him much
he started the final game of 2014 at OLB
but they rotated him with wheeler every other series
Why would they do that?
we know what wheeler is
It was the last game of the season with nothing on the line
Just play the fucking guy
If Jordan goes elsewhere I bet we regret it
When does it become about Jordan and not everyone else? He didn’t do much when he did play. Why play him more?
I mentioned that above
See my 4:13 post
I’m not inclined to blame an athlete who doesn’t even get a chance to play
He actually made some plays in 2013 as a rookie
I also mentioned 1 of those big plays above
get him on the field
We all know what Jordan was in college and what’s been so far in the NFL. He was ranked high in the draft based on potential. The fact that he has issues are really on him and nobody else. Not sure why people continue to want to blame Ireland for everything under the sun. The Eagles likely take him at #4 and that’s why Ireland traded up to #3.
Cause he was coming off an injury at Oregon and Ireland moved up to get him anyway — which many questioned. Turned out to be not so good…just one of many screw ups by Ireland during his tenure.
He was healthy later in the year and all of last year so that wasn’t the issue with him. You don’t draft a guy just for the first part of his rookie season. Jordan has other things going on that are on him, not Ireland or anyone else.
Here’s a diet tip:
Buy Pumpkin Pecan Waffle soap from bed bath and beyond
wash your hands with it and keep your hands near your face
you’ll lose your appetite completely and are likely to vomit from the obnoxious odor from that crap.
(i just threw a full bottle away, sorry wifey that shit is nasty)
My wife bought some hand soap I don’t remember what it was but I told her it smelt like stale body odor. LOL
WTF is a pumpkin pecan waffle?
Gross
“Not sure why people continue to want to blame Ireland for everything under the sun. The Eagles likely take him at #4 and that’s why Ireland traded up to #3′
Yes, Jeffy was forced to act in order to secure the most coveted player in the draft. The NFL landscape would have been clearly tilted against us had he passed up this opportunity while Jordan led the Eagles to several championships …lol
That’s not the point.
The Flying Pig says:

Honestly I am worried that if we give up on him he flourishes elsewhere
That’s my worry as well. I hope we don’t just give him up for 5th rounder or something like that.
then he plays
and flourishes
if that happens – that unquestionably exposes bad coaching
but on the other hand, if he does nothing – its about Jordan and to a lesser extent (b/c I do think he was a top 5 prospect) Ireland
every mock draft I saw that year had him as a solid top 5
Pumpkin Pecan Waffle Factory
True, LMAO
Piggy, Jordan hasn’t earned more playing time. This idea that you just throw a guy out there in games regardless of what he shows in practice is not how it works. Him not being at the workouts with his teammates tells you a lot about who he is if it’s his decision not to be there. Wake and Vernon are there and they’re ahead of him.
I’d be there so as not to piss off Suh
I don’t know Tim
He is just the latest Pariah in a long list of Pariahs that are jettisoned off
That is not how you field the most talented team you can
He costs nothing to keep
If you don;t get a good value for him – let him compete with the other players to make an impact
I’m just tired of this team looking for the next whipping boy on the roster and going through talent like a poodle eating a laxative laced burrito
Maybe the people evaluating who should should play are wrong?
At some point some one miss evaluated Jordan
its not all on Jordan
You are oversimplifying it
some one either fucked up in coveting him
or is currently fucking up in treating him as disposable
a 180 like that is not all on the player
I think you’re just disappointed in Jordan and you’re looking at every reason but him for not being up to par. It makes the draft value we used to get him devalued and your jersey of him becomes a floor rag. LOL
#draftboardclusterfuck
From Todd McShay prior to Jordan being drafted:
“Jordan does have the potential for greatness, but he also has the potential to be a bust in the NFL. He’s a raw prospect who began his career at Oregon as a receiver and tight end, and when he made the transition to defense he didn’t produce at the high level typically seen from a No. 2 overall pick (14.5 sacks in his three years on defense). “
Man, people still wanting to talk about Jeff Ireland must be a disease or something. Holy fuck, let it go. Jordan getting suspended last year was all on him. Blame everyone else just like much of society does. SMH
Honestly he made many idiotic choices and this team did not improve because we lacked talent in many areas — that is on him.
We didn’t even need a DE, I never understood moving up to get him. I rooted for him and still hope he does well but Ireland tried to get cute and so far it hasn’t paid off.
uhg….have an ok weekend all.
only 8,895 minutes until the draft!! about two hours after that many of you will be going ape shit with negativity again.
We might be doing the Gurley dance!
Gigi, so you just feel like criticizing Ireland, not really discussing Jordan. LOL
No we are discussing Jordan who is tied to Ireland cause he is the one who drafted him. He is another player that Jeff drafted who played multiple positions in college: Sean Smith, Ryan Tannehill, etc.
Well he hit on Tannehill.
Anyway Tim – you should know by now that any chance I can trash Jeff Ireland — I will!!
Really? That is yet to be seen –
Just for the record
I’m not talking about some one should be fired or not
I’m just saying I don;t see the point of parting ways with Jordan unless you get something in return
he may end up being a bust, but I doubt his story is done yet
and it costs nothing to let it play out
Of course I was the last person to give up on guys like Pat White and Mike Wallace
but I just really want to hear a lot about what a bad player Jordan is right now
I think its more factually accurate to say – we don;t know what he is
I agree, I hope he goes ape shit this year (here not elsewhere)
I’m not going to hold my breath.
Gigi, I saw Tannehill play well last year and I don’t think he’s even reached his ceiling yet. But the team needs to play better to get to the next level.
Suh in the middle with Wake and a Jordan that lives up (or even close) to expectations on the edges would be insane
Just think about it
You don’t unload rookie contracts b/c some one is a diva or something
Look at Pitt with Mike Wallace
They kept him through his problems until he was a free agent
then they let him go
Sometimes you just have to tolerate BS from players and milk whatever value you can from it
Wallace was a cheap 3rd round pick.
Even first rounds picks are relatively cheap with the rookie salary cap
this is nonfactor IMO
Jordan’s problems are 100% on him. He has refused the many offerings to work 1 on 1 w/ JT, he’s decided to take the PEDs, and he decided to use whatever drug he did. He’s blessed with unbelievable talent, but thus far blessed with worse decision making ability.
Maybe Jordan just isn’t that good a football player or that into it. That would suck but it’s possible.
Maybe Vernon is way better than we could have expected
but we don’t know yet IMO
and that is what matters more
Well he’s definitely got the arrow pointing the wrong way.
BTW
If we are talking about work ethic and draft prospects
I think its worth mentioning guys from each side of the spectrum
2 guys that I have heard have been rumored to have great practice habits and are passionate about the game are:
1. Jaelen Strong
2. Laken Tomlinson
2 guys that I hear the opposite are:
1. Jalen Collins
2. Sammie Coates
Dbolt, you’re right.
Jordan has a million dollar body with a .10 cent head on his shoulders.
That is true Tim
Check out this illustration of Jordan’s arrow pointing the wrong way
LMAO
Yeah I’d say that’s the wrong way
@corryjoel: Dion Jordan’s suspensions in 2014 voided the $5,485,522 of 2015/2016 guarantees in his contract, which makes it easier for Miami to cut him.
that also makes it easier for them to keep him and pay him less doesn’t it?
If they want to.
If that is true then what might be up is they are telling him, “time to redo with some serious performance/character clauses or yes we will cut you.”
The other Gurley mon…hmm, teams are concerned for his knee, but not so much Gurley’s.
CBS Sports’ Rob Rang notes that teams are “concerned” about Florida junior RB Matt Jones’ surgically-repaired knee, “which could push him into the late rounds.”
“Some teams are concerned about his surgically-repaired knee — which could push him into the late rounds – but he is a powerful and surprisingly patient runner with better vision and burst than his frame (and production) would seem to indicate,” Rang wrote. The 6-foot-2, 231-pound Jones led the team in rushing, with 817 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. The Florida prospect also showcased good hands out of the backfield, but only posted 11 catches for 65 yards and one touchdown last season. With such a deep running back class, Jones should be selected on day three of the draft.

@OmarsMistakes: He’s been saying for a month guys. Mike’s staying here… http://t.co/Auj5CEu3Rh
@OmarsMistakes: Thanks for the warning, Omar. http://t.co/UNOZXPs8O0
The good thing for Miami at least is that they currently don’t ‘need’ Jordan (he doesn’t start). They have a rotation of DE that can handle the load in 2015. It does suck if he doesn’t pan out but it’s not the end of the world.
Agreed.
Wow Omar’s on a roll. LOL
Don’t know much about him but maybe this guy can be the short yardage RB some people want around here LOL
UDFA projected player:
“Undrafted
Terrell Watson, Azusa Pacific (6-1, 239, 4.50) — Breaking all of Christian Okoye’s school records, Watson feasted on Division II competition and although he isn’t a quick-twitch athlete, he’s quick-thinking, reading blocks and anticipating daylight with his run instincts. Watson is a smart, physical grinder.”

Tannehill made 3 tackles and caught a pass from himself last year.
Ireland always said we need versatile guys.
How can you fault him?
OUt for now…take care peeps.
Jahn…GO WARRIORS! lol.
Omar Kelly is Wrong @OmarsMistakes
The purpose of this account is to point out the many mistakes, or embarrassing moments, that come from South Florida’s most obnoxious sports writer, Omar Kelly.
———————–
LMAO — wonder if when Omar sent this guy to the corner he had an idea which one he’d end up in.
The 2 OL we just signed instantly become our 2 biggest OL and biggest guys on the whole team except for Francis.
Interesting. Sorta what you want out of guards.
I say we put Dion Jordan @ TE cuz we need another one and he would be good at that position in the RZ. Did he not play TE in college at first?
Son
NDominant Suh
holeeee shit.
I love it.
Omar Kelly does not understand that apostrophes do not show plural except for things like “Bobby got all A’s and B’s.” SMH
I find some of the commentary about Jordan to be revisionist history. Most here were very excited when we drafted him. I was pushing hard for Lane Johnson, who, while not worth trading up to 3 for, would’ve at least contributed.
Now it’s sort of like “What a bunch of fuckin’ idiots for trading up to get this loser”. Than it was “Finally they showed some conviction and are trying to win”. The hatred for Ireland has remained constant of course. But than again, I guess hindsighted flip flopping has too. LOL…
I feel my conscience is clear. Did not like the trade-up…… and I wanted Ziggy.
Mine is too. I liked his physical talent and wasn’t bummed when he was the pick, but I was hoping right up until they announced it that they’d say Lane Johnson.
If Jordan was a reach at 3 to start with I’d understand all the rage, but sometimes when a consensus top 5 player flops, the fault lies with the player and not the team who drafted him. Whatever it is now, Ireland is gone, so I really don’t see the need to berate the team over his failure. He needs to be in the fucking building, and the fact he’s not speaks volumes.
BTW, I liked Ziggy for us before we traded up. I knew when we did he wasn’t going to be the pick, but I also advocated drafting him if we sat tight in that draft.
Reason I didn’t like it wasn’t the value at the spot, it was the fit for us. But then that’s just that draft. Even if not as strong, I talked Gholston too.
Agreed. Jordan is the only one failing here. It happens in life. I remember making an article on the other side based off from people’s posts and most were bitching about trading up for Lane & then were ecstatic when we drafted Jordan. Shit happens & you can’t measure a guys heart.
I was content to let Dion develop. He could play ST, TE on 2-pt conversions and trickeration plays inside the 5 yd line and send him on kamikaze attack on every FG as he has shown he can block those.
Then he would be ready when Wake retires in 2018.
I saw the versatility and potential, just not at #3 overall.
Forget about him being the number 3 player picked in the draft, is he an asset or not? I was pissed when we gave up on Ginn, because he was a great return man. Jordan at worst is a stand out STs player, so he should at least be a Fin this yr, as for next when I think his salary escalates, that’s a different story.
No doubt…it is what it is. The new wrinkle is that he hasn’t shown up and the head office is dodging Qs.
Wow Al. Diggin DEEP for the Azusa Pacific Running Back. I went to JC and than transferred in the end, but APU was the only 4 year school that recruited me to play football. It was right after Okoye came onto the scene in the NFL.
Lol Jahn! I took some computer classes at Citrus College, which is on the north end of the block from APU. Amazing anytime I hear about anything from that school.
Tannehill had a 92+ QB rating last year, threw for over 4000 yds, competed 2/3 of his passes, had better than a 2:1 ratio in TD/INT, and rushed for more than 300yds at a 5.6+ per carry average (2nd leading rusher on the team).
ALL of those stats are benchmarks for quality QB play.
If all 53 players played their position at that level last year,
we would’ve won at least one playoff game.
👍
Naples
I wanted to reply to you before but I was busy at work. As far as Gurley is concerned, he might turn into something special, but as to whether he’s a perennial superstar, hard to say. What I can tell you is I don’t think DeMarco Murray is a superstar, but he sure played like one behind that excellent Dallas O-line. If you thought Murray was a superstar before this year, then disregard this, but if you didn’t, we could make any number of RB’s look like a superstar too if we draft La’el Collins.
ALBERT – COLLINS – POUNCEY – TURNER – JAMES
I see 1500 yards on the ground behind that O-line from Miller, if we feed him enough.
Piggy i have never heard a bad thing about Collins in that regard, Coates i have heard and seen things. Coates when plays were away from them wasn’t all out selling it but i think he was well respected among teammates and coaching staff so im pretty sure that means he wasnt a lazy ass. Justin Hady and Jaquiski Tartt are two players when i was watching film that REALLY stood out to me as people who bust ass 100% of the time. I would like either of them on our team just because i think they are that kind of character people.
I think with Coates, he’s moldable. I’ve heard he’s a high quality person and a hard worker. You are right about not selling plays when he wasn’t featured, but don’t think he’s a malcontent. Also he was better selling in 2013, so I wonder if he took it easier due to his knee being banged up.
Just when you think you’ve seen everything, you get the opportunity to see everything. 😉

Which coincides with the time that you realize everything is not meant to be seen. 🙂

I was in same boat with you then.
I think this was a crummy draft year. The first 3 have struggled badly. Also 6,8,9,10,11,12,14,16,29 have all played below potential. The best pick of 2013 is Travis Frederick.

I dont get the revisiting of Ireland’s fuck ups. Agree or disagree with it, the picks arent magically re-appearing, he isnt going to disappear and someone else re-appear in his place becuse you wanted the pic to be different. Just move on, we are rid of Ireland, and probably before too long rid ourselves of Jordan. I think we can get at least a mid second rounder for him or even package him with our second to get a first, but he doesnt have great value and we will never get back what we gave up. Just deal with it lol.
I was along for the ride with the Jordan pick. I was shocked. I was happy, because when you make a move like that, you figure we had to know something. I actually wanted Des Trufant in that draft. He’s started every game at CB for ATL, and he has 5 INT’s in 2 seasons. Not bad.
i knew we would have to trade up for Ansah so i was hoping that was the name that was called when we traded. I wanted Trufant if we stayed put.
That’s cool. I remember me and Momma wanted Des. I was never hot for Ansah, although I probably should have been. He’s a very good player.
Mike E
I like La’el a lot. I do NOT like the Safety named Collins.
Last year Tannehill was our 2nd leading rusher.
When the QB has almost TWICE as many yards as your 2nd Tailback …
That is a DANGEROUS stat.
This is why the other day I said Miller going down is a very scary thought.
We need a RB who can pitch in 5-600 yds, not make Miller rush for another 5-600.
Then he will be history fast just like Arian Foster etc..
or Tannehill will get hurt trying to be our 2nd string tailback in addition to 1st QB.
Look at how often Michael Vick got hurt.
We have Damien Williams and Mike Gillislee, who I believe are both capable RB’s behind Miller. Believe me, I will be really excited if we draft Gurley, but I was also really excited when we drafted Dion Jordan.
Landon Collins i think is going to be a good safety and he is the hybrid type that would really work for us, i dont think he is a 14 pick, he is about on same level to me as Tartt and as i said before i really like how Tartt plays.Tartt is going to make people scared to cross his zone.I like Cody Prewitt a lot too, he seems to be sliding a bit in the draft rankings and if he is available in round 4 is a steal.
I like Prewitttt and Tartttt but not Satan’s minion. He is slow and confused against creative formations. Plus he has stone hands.
This could happen if Gurley falls to #14, or maybe a top 10 DE or DT slides.

The realest trade partner I’ve heard for Miami is Dallas, which has pick No. 27 in the 1st, No. 60 in the 2nd, and No. 91 in the 3rd.
So why would we want to give a HoF player to Dallas so they can get to the Super Bowl, while we get 3 more good guys who will get us to 9-7.
D
Des’s 3.85 20 yard shuttle is sick man! I knew he ran that fast, so I just checked it out. That’s insane acceleration!

but if you don’t like it that’s fine,
just post it here so the other guys can help me understand it.
Naples, who’s the HoF player? Surely you don’t mean Gurley who’s yet to take one snap in the NFL….lol
Here’s what I think about the curious case of Dion Jordan.
1. He was told not to report because we’re trading him.
2. He’s not that self-motivated and chose not to show up because he doesn’t have to.
3. He’s still got some issues going on that aren’t good.
I think he’s being traded also.
I could also say I HOPE he’s being traded.
Tiny robots climb walls carrying more than 100 times their weight. Like a friggin horror movie…lol

Could you have not predicted that LeBron would be a HoF player when he was still in HS?
or Luck would be while still at Stanford?
Many people did, and they were all right.
Luck is in the HOF? 😉
Do you doubt it will happen?
Mike E, you’ve soured on Jordan like I have. It sucks but he’s turned out to be a disappointment thus far.
We’re pretty deep at his position so I can see us moving him. Maybe his work ethic is not very good at the NFL level when it becomes a full-time job where in college he could just go through the motions on talent and a much lesser work week. Maybe he doesn’t like to work that hard.
Lindsey Soto on NFLN right now is smokin’ hot today
