Dear Earth,
The 2015 NFL Draft is Thursday. I’m so nervous… Its not just about the draft. Its also because the deadline for my report to the Alpha Alien is due. I’ve thought about it for months. What will I report to the Alpha Alien? What did I learn is the best way to destroy the Earth?
Well, you will be relieved to hear: I’ve decided to spare Earth…at least until after the 2015 NFL Draft. I’m going to file a report with the Alpha Alien. But I’m going to tell him that I created a new way to destroy the Earth which involves the slow decay of their culture until Earthling Brains turn to mush.
But I won’t do a thing. I don’t have to. Keeping up with the Kardashians has been on TV for years now. The Alpha Alien will give me credit for that and I get to watch football a little longer.
To celebrate, let’s take a look back at all the prospects we scouted this season!
The Wide Receivers
The Linebackers
And More Linebackers
The Defensive Backs
The Big Men
And the Tight Ends and Backs
Enjoy The NFL Draft, Its only 2 Days Away!!!

Nice work Piggy. I really appreciate all the hard work you put into your scouting reports!
Ahem- it was Wedge who wrote these analyses…
Shane Ray = one stupid mother fucker
get busted for possession of marijuana 3 days before you become a top 10 draft pick. Stupid fucker just cost himself millions.
Was just going to post this Rock:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000488426/article/ray-cited-for-misdemeanor-marijuana-possession
I wonder if Gregory and Ray get pushed down past us, and the playmakers or OL we are looking for gets taken earlier?
Off to work; have a great day all!
It’s probably not good for us to have those pass rushers get in trouble
Can’t believe both ray and Gregory w ere so dumb
The big difference is Ray carries his stupidity to the field while Gregory is sound on it. I think Gregory still goes top 12, but Ray takes a big drop.
What did Ray do on the field that was so stupid?
I think Gregory might be the best of the edge guys
But right now Dupree and Beasley are looking really good as the first couple of edge rushers off the board
He gets boneheaded PF penalties. His final bowl game he got thrown out in the first half.
Correction, it was the SEC title game
“REPORT: Miami Dolphins “covet” top running back prospect”
Are these continued reports an attempt to get Arizona or Dallas to trade UP to our spot? Way too many “reports” floating out there.
I know a few fans of the Dolphins that covet Gurley
Its no smokescreen to them
Shane Ray – Oy!
I’m excited that I’m actually going to be able to watch the 1st RD. I haven’t seen it since they changed the format to Thursday.
Pig,
In regards to edge rushers, Beasely looks like a Wake clone with how he bends that edge.
I actually have a fond memory of Walker calling me after we took Ryan Tannehill at #8. I was driving home from work, hoping to get home before we picked, but I didn’t make it. I was just turning on to my street, and my phone rang, and we were both so happy because we finally drafted a QB.
Hopefully Dupree moves up and takes Shane Ray’s spot in the top 10. I wonder how far Ray falls because of this. His stupidity is just amazing to me.
Heard a guy on Mike and Mike about 10 mins ago speculate he could fall into the 3rd.
WOW! That far? That’s a monumental fuck-up by that kid. I’m not sure I heard correctly, but I thought he will face a 2 game suspension after he’s on a team. Is that right? Did you hear anything about that?
I bet the Steelers planted the weed in Ray’s car.
Lol
I thought they were set up to take Dupree
Now looks like Ray or Gregory might be there guy
Maybe they plant heroine in Vic Beasley’s suit in draft day
Great job the last few days Pigsgerald, much appreciated.
Seconded! Thankus Piggus Oinkustus!
No problem
FYI
Check out Thursday ‘a scheduled post when you get a chance and add your input
Is this where I’m supposed to say something like “The Pigmeister- piggyshopping copies!”
I’m going to load Ask Mike for tomorrow when I get home.
You didn’t just say that. LOL
I don’t get it
lol!
Piggy, good job on all the prospects. So now we know we’ll get none of them. LOL
Piggy, good job!
Shane Ray deserves to be a 3rd rounder. What a #$%^%, $^&%%, etc. I hope it doesn’t mess up our options too bad but there are plenty of talented guys out there.
Mike E, think total immaturity humor. LOL
Ah, OK.
I wonder if the NFL starts to soften on ganja due to how many players seem to be doing it. With states making it legal in recent years it’s not so taboo anymore.
You’d think they’d care a helluva lot more about illegally deflated footballs, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Mike,
I don’t know about the suspension. I’m not sure I agree with this any way. If the guy ess a qb I might see it, but he’s a lineman. Besides, I’m not convinced the stigma is as harsh as some might want it to be. The stuff is legal in several places as it is. Some of the more conservative teams may drop him, but I’m not sure they all feel that way.
I still want to know how the Patriots organization and especially Bill Belichick weren’t aware they had a murdering thug on their roster. Oh wait, they did know what kind of guy he was because players knew. Maybe Heath Evans can touch on this when he takes Belichicks balls out of his mouth.
Maybe Shane Ray gets drafted by the broncos or the Seahawks…
Exactly.
Someone is going to be very happy Shane Ray fell to them. Someone late 1st RD is gonna say F— it, I’m taking him.
It’s the perfect set up for NE if they choose to take him. Just think about it, Shane Ray in a Patriots uni = immunity from league punishment.
Like Aaron Hernandez never failing a drug test when he was using everyday?
Ray’s marijuana activity doesn’t affect Dupree at all. Dupree always been the better player. To me Shane Ray is a tweener that is more a 3-4 OLB than true DE.
He’s got that 42″ vertical that Wake has to give him that explosion off the edge. He’s like a bigger version of Wake.
He would never be arrested for drug poss in A state that legalized it
Honestly I think the nfl is behind the times on marijuana
But whether Ray or Gregory falls is not an NFL issue
It’s a choice for the GMs to take The risk or not
So there are 32 different ways to view it
I bet a few of them are more he willing to take the risks
If I were a GM with a top 10 pick and I was in the market for an edge guy I WOULD take that risk
The country is still behind the times with marijuana and the NFL tries to stay within that confine as to not lose fans due to looking pro-pot.
The NFL is actually behind the country IMO
A lot of polls show the majority of the country favors legalization
I’m not surprised to see the law take a long time to change. The legislative process is slow – that’s just the nature of the beast
Also I’m not so surprised to see the nfl to change with the times (albeit they could be a bit faster) sometimes a big business is almost as slow and buerocratic as the govt (libertarians throw tomatoes at Piggy)
But my point is, the opinions of those players in this case are by much smaller organizations (the teams)
And not as red tapey (I made up that word). In some cases the decision of who to draft rests with one person
So don’t be so sure those players drop
Matt Light on Aaron Hernandez:
“He was a different duck, and I knew he was a different duck from day one. I typically avoided that kind of a character. The thing that I always tell people is it sheds this negative light, and it overshadows what really is the heart and soul of all of our wins and our legacy, and that is we have really good quality individuals. Unfortunately there’s always one in the bunch.”
Interesting looking at the WR drill times.
Kenny Bell had a faster 3-cone time than Cooper & White (Parker & Perriman didn’t run the drill at either the combine/pro day; Parker because of his foot injury & Perriman because of his hammy).
Justin Hardy had the best 3-cone time of any receiver it seems within top 25 WR rankings at Nfldraftscout.com (6.63 seconds)
2nd best was WVU’s Mario Alford (6.64 sec). Bell ran his in 6.66 sec.
Bell looks like a good prospect. From NFL Draft Scout Dane Brugler says he’s got thin pegs and skinny wrists. I just found pegs funny. LOL
Justin Hardy seems like he’s going to be the guy every knows is going to be good but he’ll go 3rd rd maybe 2nd.
Both Bell & Hardy will make GMs look really smart.
Question
D
Oops
Here is the ?
does anyone know of the NFL can punish/suspend propsects?
Or can they only suspend/punish guys under contract?
The later make sense to me
If so, there is no risk at suspension based on pat events for drafting these guys unlike Hardy and the cowboys
I don’t think they can punish them before being officially part of the league.
Piggy, I should have said our government is behind the times with marijuana because many pols are idiots and can’t get out of our way.
Yeah I agree
FWIW, even if politicians were a bit more bold
CHanging the law can be a slow process
But most politicians are nore compromising than bold

We still have paranoid conservative religious types (notice i said ‘conservative’ religious because there are liberal religious type who don’t have same views) in this country who like to stereotype and create fear mongering by saying it’s a gateway drug (or that legalizing drugs in general will create mass usage).
Portugal was blasted years ago when it decided to decriminalize ALL drugs and here they are today with similar drug usage rates prior to such action.
Is Portugal completely decriminalized?
Agreed.
Dbolt, I get the feeling Hardy will be like Landry. Doesn’t blow you away with measureables but is a damn good football player and WR.
Piggy, for you.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_policy_of_Portugal
Piggy,
12+ years ago I think they decriminalized personal usage amounts but still search/seize distribution + prosecute for things outside stated ‘personal’ quantities .
They don’t want to be a drug supplying port.
Will Brinson on CBS has us trading up to #7 with CHI and drafting Kevin White. I could deal with that.
Yeah I’ve seen that. What do you think it would cost us?
Maybe a pick this year and pick next year? I don’t think we’d trade our 1st and 2nd this year, that would kill us this year. Probably our 1st and 4th this year, and our 1st or 2nd next year, or maybe Dion Jordan. That would be ideal.
Piggy
I was driving and I wasn’t totally paying attention to the radio this morning, but I was listening to NFL radio, and I could swear I heard that Ray could face a 2 game suspension. I could totally be wrong though.
One thing I like about Bell is that even after scoring a 4.42 sec 40 time at the combine he decided to run again at his pro day cause he felt he can best that time. He did, posting 4.38 sec and improving more importantly his 10 yard split from 1.57 sec to a beast mode 1.47 sec. For perspective, Dorsett ran his 40 again at his pro day improving his 10 yard split from 1.54 sec to 1.48 sec.
Any fans of Lockett (KSU) here? He reminds me a bit of Wallace with the way he operates and catches lol. I’d imagine he could cause fits with his speed with Miami having Jennings/Landry/Stills out there.
Love Lockette. He reminds me more of Desean Jackson on the field. He’s a better person & teamate though.
I’m feeling 80% sure that Miami won’t take WR with pick 1.
You can end up being 100% right or 100% wrong though. What do you think, OL or CB?
Because of the depth at the position?
Tim,
In regards to Hardy I think he will be more like Antonio Brown. He has a few more physical gifts than Jarvis, but Landry is a better WR on contact
You think Hardy is a good fit in our offense?
I like this about Hardy for our offense.
“With more teams running the ball out of three-WR sets, some coordinators will see value in the way Hardy gets after run-blocking assignments.”
I love draft teks draft for us.
RD 1 – La’el Collins OT
RD2 – PJ Williams CB
RD4 – Gerod Holliman
RD5 – Jake Ryan OLB
RD5 – Gabe Wright DT
RD 6 – Chris Conley WR
I think we’d likely have to swap Conley and Holliman. I think Holliman might fall, and I think Conley is likely a 3rd – 5th RD pick.
Agreed
Jake Ryan seems like another Jordan Tripp.
I probably would not give up next years #1 to move up 7 spots
But I would give up our 1st a 4th and next years #2 pick
I would prefer not to, but I’m not in charge (At the moment) I’m working on it . . . .

Hardy & Agholor are custom fit for this offense. They are plug and play ready from day 1…..even more so than Parker, Perriman, & Strong.
BTW – In that same draft teks draft, Jets got Beasley and Agholor in the 1st and 2nd RD’s respectively.
That be one helluva haul for them.
I think the Jets are going edge pass rusher in the 1st.
D-Bolt, yeah, those are 2 very good players.
I think it’s really important that we get a great WR, not just one that fits this offense. Who knows if “this offense” is even here next year? Get me a great WR, and I’m sure he can play in any offense.
As I’ve mentioned before I find Hardy to be like Antonio Brown & see Agholor as a much faster version of Randall Cobb.
Whoever we get at WR I just hope the guy is productive. Oh yeah that goes for all our picks. LOL
Yep. Need contributions especially from early picks like last year.
I love this story. More mom’s should be there doing the same thing- probably dads, too:
https://gma.yahoo.com/baltimore-mom-smacks-son-taking-part-violence-142918402–abc-news-topstories.html
Rioting is not the answer but there sure are a lot of people who enjoy doing it. SMH
Not to make light of riots, but why in the hell when photos come out of people looting convenience stores they have their arms full of cigarettes, but even worse….Wise potato chips? If you’re going to do that at least come out with some Lays chips that aren’t scorched like the Wise brand!
More people from the community should’ve been focusing on protecting it instead of watching dipshits rip it apart. How many young children and elderly community members are lacking necessary medications because of the destruction of that CVS pharmacy? The sad thing is the community members who did this and watched it happen will turn and blame the police for not stopping it.
They don’t think of stuff like that when they got their thug on.
Maybe if she wasn’t smacking him as a solution to begin with, his first instinct to solve a perceived problem (police brutality) would be to act violently towards the police
I applaud her efforts to teach him right from wrong and stop him from immediately attacking the police
But violence as a solution can be a cycle
She has probably been smacking him for spilling milk her whole life
How else does she expect him to act out when he sees something he thinks is wrong?
Without knowing their relationship we don’t know. It’s just as possible that her son was a jackass follower.
Shane Ray now automatically enrolled in behavioral portion of Phase 1 of NFL’s substance abuse program, sources tell ESPN’s Mark Dominik.
Yep he’s fucked
Dbolt for the ethical stealing of chips during riots. LOL
You know it!!!!
McShay still pushing Gurley to us @14.
That’s because he’s Little Head McShay and arch rival of Count Chocula. LOL
Little Head McShay just fired one up and the Count is grinding his fangs. LOL

DBolt
We have knowledge she smacked him to stop him from doing something
I suspect there is a bigger problem based on that fact
I don’t know anything else about her – I admit that
I hesitate to praise her for her actions though
It’s a generalized comment by me about using violence as a solution
So it doesn’t deal with specifics
But I feel comfortable based on the facts we know to draw a conclusion without looking at more
Or maybe this made her freak out that he was involved because it’s not like him.
Maybe
I doubt it though
All parents/people have breaking point though, so it’s possible
But hers came while her son was pelting rocks at the police?
I doubt it. I doubt it’s the first time she hit him.
Like DBolt said and I acknowledge, we don’t really know
But I’m not going to praise some one who first instinct to stop violence was to use violence
That’s my point
I will not argue law here, but what you call violence may be an attention getter. People respond to different things. I don’t think in that situation she was going to be able to stop him and try to have a reasonable conversation with him.
Pig,
The pelting the police with rocks might push any parent over the edge as that could lead to the police shooting in retaliation. As a parent if I saw my son or daughter doing something stupid like that, there’s a 99.999999% chance that 5 across the eye would be coming. I do not believe in abuse, but I also believe some instances require a wake up call.
She didn’t “smack him to stop him from doing something”, she smacked him BECAUSE he was doing something, the implication being she felt he was doing something she did not think he should be doing. That’s all you can assert in that instance.
But I was not admiring her “violence”, I was commenting on the fact she went down to collect her child and advise him his behavior was unacceptable. We can discuss the semantics of it if you like, but it was not my motivation.
I’m not arguing law
I’m a lawyer
But I discuss other things
It’s definitely an attention getter so I agree
She has to do something to get him to stop ASAP
She probably could not have calmly discussed it with him
But she probably didn’t have to start hitting him either
Hitting him is probably an emotional response by her
Just a guess by me
I bet he would be such a little shit if she had not done that a dozen times before
It’s an assumption by me that she has done it before
But if you guys think this is the first time she hit her son, I think you are being naive
ultimately what DBOlt said about not know their relationship is correct
I’m just saying “not so fast” in praising her
I said that piggy only because I knew you would be much more attuned to the legalities involved- I had no intention of embarrassing myself more than I already do!
Maybe she was just being a parent and saw her kid in a situation that no matter the outcome turns out bad for him. He either gets arrested or he gets hurt. A parent would try to protect him from himself.
Pig — all those pictures up top are a tribute to all the hard work that Wedge has done. Please thank him for that, as well as waiting till after the draft to destroy the planet.
Piggy, you should have flown to Baltimore to make the people happy.
Lol
But I want a helmet just in case
In court but I must take a moment to say fuck you Dion Jordan. Suspended for 2015 season. Fuck!!!!
What?
UPDATE from Adam Schefter: “Dion Jordan, 3rd pick in 2013, is being suspended for 2015 season for another substance abuse policy violation, league sources told ESPN. “
@AdamSchefter: Dion Jordan, 3rd pick in 2013, is being suspended for 2015 season for another substance abuse policy violation, league sources told ESPN.
You fucking idiot. Well there you have it. Bust!!!!
well now we can offically call him a bust. What a stupid fuck. Thinking he could dilute the NFL tests……
Let’s go Shelby, Fede and McCain. I also wouldn’t take pass rusher off our list at #14 now.
Now comes the question, trade up still make sense if you can get a guy like Fowler….still think our DE position is deep enough to deal with that, but it does make it an important position to address somewhere in the drat.
I think our FO is open to anything to improve the team.
Yeah i just saw that too….jesus, there it is, zero trade-ability and zero value, cut him and be done with this shit.
Yep!
@RapSheet: Dion Jordan’s looming suspension comes from a diluted sample, source said. Creates a new position of need for Miami.
I dont think it changes it to a position of need, Jordan hasnt been integral anyways, but i do think it makes us shift at least one pick towards getting some guy to develop
Nice going Dion Jordan
Maybe we can draft Shane Ray
@AdamSchefter: Dion Jordan will not appeal his suspension. It stands. Out all of 2015.
Our version of Gordon and Blackmon….. filth be gone.
@AdamSchefter: Interesting part is that Eagles and Dolphins were nearing a trade for Dion Jordan. Then came the diluted sample and suspension. So no deal.
Fuck!!!!!!!!!
I guess the team already new about the suspension
Which explains press conference and the absence from voluntary camp
He doesn’t take it seriously. We’ll see what he has in 2016. I don’t know we will cut him, but maybe. If he’s suspended, does he count against the roster?
No and he likely lost a lot more money.
Cut Jordan’s sorry F’n ass and just be done with him
I’m pretty sure they will just cut him now
It’s pointless not to
Agreed
That might be exactly what Philbin does. Me — I’d keep him and run his ass ragged on ST’s next year.
Seems that Dion Jordan is striving to be the best he can be……which would be champion of the Dolphin’s all time bust list.
Off to a deposition I will be on later to vent
I don’t think this creates a need, but it depends on what value we put on Shelby, Fede and McCain.
I would like a stud pass rusher with Suh
I know we have wake
But we can be a great defense if there are other good players around Suh
So I am strongly considering a pass rush
Vernon is there too. No doubt edge rusher is on our board and probably always had been.
Right now I’m just happy that those three players on the Dl who have actually shown more than where they were picked.
Mike E will be burning a jersey tonight. Piggy you should join him. LOL
@AdamHBeasley: It does not. Silver lining! RT @Jorgethe3: @AdamHBeasley does Dion Jordan’s salary count against the cap even if he is suspended?

Thanks Dion. Thanks Ireland. Thanks coaches. Epic fail.
Why are the coaches at fault, the guy isn’t responsible. I wouldn’t even blame Ireland for him being he was universally considered a top 5 talent. Blame Jordan.
Haven’t really been following the draft much. Who’s the guy I should be rooting for us to get at 14? Kind of feels like I’ll be hoping for a trade down.
Piggy,
In regards to the question of law above, I only mentioned it because I knew I would be overmatched in such a discussion, not that I anticipated a legal discussion, but to avoid it! Lol
Jordan’s trade value right now…….and I’m only talking about the jersey.

God damn it. Ireland really fucked that one up. (Dion fucked up more so because Ireland couldn’t know that Dion would be a drug addict.) SMH at another 1st round bust.
Ireland’s 2013 offseason has gone down as a disaster though, we’ve rid ourselves of most of it. Geez!
So we get Jordan’s cap hit back for this year?
$5 million in space
I think you are wrong. See below
Rock I saw that also, but with him getting suspended for the year if Miami cuts him then they can go after the $3 million in his signing bonus.
Tim,
The more the situation plays out the more it appears Ireland is at fault. Building in the language to his contract about drug suspensions voiding chunks of his salary makes you believe there were ongoing issues w/ Jordan at Oregon. This was the language that he was fighting the Dolphins during his training camp holdout and the language stuck.
hmmmm, i wasn’t aware of any drug suspension language in his contract. But he already got his signing bonus which is on the books as dead money. I think the most we can save is $2.27M
@corryjoel: Dion Jordan’s suspensions in 2014 voided the $5,485,522 of 2015/2016 guarantees in his contract, which makes it easier for Miami to cut him.
salary $585,000 signing bonus $3,335,420 (likely still on the hook for) $1,690,210 roster bonus -( might get out of)
@AdamHBeasley: It does not. Silver lining! RT @Jorgethe3: @AdamHBeasley does Dion Jordan’s salary count against the cap even if he is suspended?
his salary is only $585K he already received most of his money in a signing bonus.
Rock, Jordan’s bonuses were voided from his suspension last year.
@corryjoel: Dion Jordan’s suspensions in 2014 voided the $5,485,522 of 2015/2016 guarantees in his contract, which makes it easier for Miami to cut him.
But he already received his bonus. when he signed. he got a check for $13,341,680 the day he signed his contract….
It doesn’t sound like that. It was probably prorated.
Rock, I doubt Jordan gets to keep his bonus this year.
@AbramsonPBP: If #Dolphins keep Dion Jordan and he actually returned in 2016, they could in theory have him play for free to recover signing bonus money.
@AbramsonPBP: Bright side for #Dolphins: Dion Jordan’s $5.3 million cap hit in 2015 will be wiped off the books during the year-long suspension
@ProFootballTalk: One-year suspension will cost Dion Jordan more than $5.5 million in signing bonus and salary, per league source.
And we were worried about Mcain?
James Walker @JamesWalkerNFL · 21m21 minutes ago
Sources: Dion Jordan suspended for entire 2015 season http://es.pn/1HOc51o
Fuck you Jordan. Hands down the worst pick in Dolphins history.
Can’t disagree.
Hey we have $5.3M more in cap space to use on a legit player.
Geez I wonder if this is where the blame coaches mantra for Jordans problems starts again.😑
I think it exonerates them from being so perplexed on how to use Mr. Complexity. We now know Jordan wasn’t a dedicated player and was a drug using jerk.
LOL. Those who hate Philbin will still try to incorporate him into the blame😆
Why is Dion reminding me of someone else right now?

A little white box? LOL
Don’t ask me why the delay….I’m the tech ignorant one.
Jets fined $100k for tampering with patriots on Revis.
They should lose a draft pick. $100k is like a nickel for Woody Johnson.
No draft picks lost…
Well we can afford a decent OG now! 😦
Are there any?
DJ = DUMBASS JERK
WTF!!!!
I know right??? People looting stores for Wise potato chips!
It’s crazy when there are Lay’s sitting right there.
Dbolt, Boulder will blame Philbin. LOL
There’s others who’ll do the same
Watch the asshole pundits say that’s a lack of leadership and coaching while ignoring Aaron Hernandez. I’ll fucking find them and throw dog shit at them if they go there. LOL
Has it ever been reported what he is using ?? is it always for same substances ? or is just dabbling in everything under the sun ? Not that that changes anything…

Hopefully all they find is a bag of chips containing olestra and spend the rest of their days with a leaky anus.
LOL
It wouild be funny watching them all slip on ass juice.
Many of the then looted the rite aid across the street for bulking agents and wet wipes
Toba — Jordan’s first fail was for a performance-enhancing substance. Then there was a question on whether he’d get reduced from four games to two cause of some tech glitch in the NFL policy, which apparently meant Molly was only worth two games. Welker and a bunch of others got that, Jordan did not. And this was at the time Jordan gained all that weight in the offseason.
The second was for an unspecified substance abuse, adding an additional two games. That shouldn’t have been a PED……but whatever it was it was a second strike. And apparently football goes by baseball rules on how many you get.
