The Dolphins traded down 5 spots in the 2nd round from 47 to 52.
They acquired two more 5th round picks and gave up their 6th round pick
With the 52nd Pick the Dolphins selected
Dolphins’ Remaining Picks
4th Round (114)
5th Round (145) (149) (150) & (156)

They have such bias for certain teams they didn’t even mention our last pick but the interrupt a guy in the middle of a sentence to cut to cowboys pick
Tim.. How many 5th rounders are expected to suit up game day. These for the most part are development picks. I’d put his tall as on the practice squad or special teams..
Waller prewitt artis-payne and Kevin white would be a very nice 5th round
Felaccio just cum off the board
Fellatio I meant
We thought you were just watching something else with a spitter !!!
Harrison and Matias must really suck?
The raiders just picked a OG I’ve never heard of
Jamil Douglas “might make most sense for a zone scheme that utilizes athleticism and angles.”
Hmmmmmm
Looks the part with broad shoulders, trim middle and good balance. Quick off the snap. Plays with good leverage in pass protection to absorb bull rush, good flexibility and core strength. Slides well laterally and looks to help teammates when not covered up. Flashes a nasty streak, taking defenders to the ground.
Good mover to and through the second level. Can hit the moving target and readjust beyond the point of attack. Above-average agility.
Yep!
Reading Wyo. link above from an NFC West Scout, more than likely looking for a power OG, which we don’t need, so the weaknesses don’t really matter in a ZBS. I don’t agree with them anyways after watching the tape. I think he can start right away, if he comes in and gets to work with the idea he’s going to start.
A natural athlete with good feet he fits best inside because of his height, weight and reach.
phindog, I’m just saying we already have our 5 WRs and some other guys competing to sneak in and beat out a Matthews like LaRon Byrd who is 6-4 220 – it was reported the coaches liked his progress before he got hurt last year.
If they keep dicking around Jay Ajayi will be there in the 5th
Great all around back!!!!!!!!
What does dicking around mean? Waiting for your pick to be up?
There goes Jake Ryan
Ben Heeney still in the board
Better take our LB soon
Or not. Do you really expect a 5th rd LB in this draft to jump past who we have? I don’t.
I know, I know, both Bryan Cox and Zach Thomas were 5th rounders. Good luck with that. LOL
Pigs there are some LB’rs as good as Jake left!
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2015/tracker/by-round#dt-by-round-input:4/dt-tabs:dt-by-position/dt-by-grade-input:2/dt-by-position-input:lb
Heeney me!
Tim
What you are doing right now! 😉
?
Smelter gone
There goes the Smelter!
Imagine
Actually drafting an OL who is actually projected to play OG in a ZBS instead if the highest ranked OT on the board
That would be a disaster right…
😉
Which is why we’ve been struggling the last few yrs, our guys didn’t fit the scheme, but this yr the Hickster got rid of all those guys.
The linebackers I like all run a 4.6 40 so they can play ST and knock the shit out of some little return man and also cover RB and TE short routes.
128 Mike Hull, ILB, Penn State 6’ 237
151 Alani Fua, OLB, BYU 6’5 238 4.59-4.73 40 18 reps (for Special Teams)
196 Bryce Hager, ILB, Baylor 6’1 234 (4.6 40)
263 Jeff Luc, ILB, Cincinnati 6’ 251 4.6 40 (for Special Teams)
465 Quayshawn Neeley, ILB, GaTech 6’ 236 8 INT 4 def TDs
Tim.. If Waller and Byrd can unseat any WR’s on our team I would love it. Competition is great and hopefully we keep the best and cut the rest.
Why try to replace someone that doesn’t need to be replaced when we have others that need to be replaced?
Smelter sounds like soemthig that oozes from an orifice
Pass
Actually, it’s “Smelt-Her!”
Smeterlink is German for butterfly, there’s this joke…
AT LAST AN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN!!! – – We need AT LEAST one more O-Line selection in this draft to help plug the other hole at the other guard position. HOPE Benson can work miracles otherwise our O-Line will resemble last December’s O-Line (Tanny shits in his pants!).
Billy Turner is our other starter and he’s nasty, no one left on the board will unseat him.
I def feel we should draft an mlb even if we aren’t expecting we are getting a starter. We are thin there we need depth at minimum
OD
Then likelihood of a 5th round pick being more ready to start next year than Billy Turner is about 1 in 100
We defiantly don’t need another OG
I’ll take $10 of that action, Piggy. I am telling you RIGHT NOW that if we draft at least 2 O-Linemen today, ONE of them will start at least ONE game in 2015. DO WE HAVE A BET??
Nope
We have a Suicide note from me if it happens
It would be a stupid move
Harrison may be a motivational issue guy. I said this more than a month ago, he is this years seantrel. All the talent in the world but no idea if he gives a shit about Hus profession
phindog, nobody is cracking the lineup of Landry, Stills, Jennings and Parker. Did we forget we drafted Parker at #14? LOL
Outside of injury.
I know who our 5th rd LB should be. 2014 5th rd pick Jordan Tripp who already has 53 man roster experience.
I expect him to be in the mix to start, he’s been working hard to get stronger. I hope he’s been doing it legally.
Are you nuts?
Naples you don’t like Pollard from USC?
The safeties I like are all ball hawks so get us some turnovers.
103 Derron Smith, FS, Fresno State 5’10 200
124 Cody Prewitt, FS, Ole Miss 6’2 208
184 Gerod Holliman, FS, Louisville 6’ 218
and the CBs left I want are
Ifo and
155 Charles Gaines, CB, Louisville 5’10 180
Lol
Christopher Price
Shaq Mason’s full name is Shaquille Olajuwon Mason. That is fantastic.
I’ll just throw this out there. With our four 5th round picks we go OL, RB, LB and DB.
Sold
Wyo
Sir
wadr
Here is why I do NOT like Pullard:
“Lean-muscled with a thin torso and maxed out build. Not a power player and can get eaten up by blocks and lost in a crowd. Needs to finish once he makes contact, throwing his body around but not consistently breaking down properly. Will whiff in the open field at times. Average hand strength, hugging and wrestling to the ground. Questionable cover instincts and often a step late, lacking make-up speed on vertical routes. Too reactionary and not an instigator. Too many undisciplined penalties on his resume, including several facemask and holding calls. Kicked out of 2014 Stanford game for targeting, launching himself upward with his helmet.”
plus he is slow and a prima donna
Thanks for the tip!
Cobb gone. That hurt a bit.
I agree, but I think Varga may be a better fit for our power runner.
True dat.
Tim.. I don’t expect any of them to unseat our starting WR’s.. I expect them to upgrade the backups and practice squad WR’s. Isn’t that what you try to do with late rounders ?
She farted and I Smelter
When the dogs begin to Smelter…
Good Pull Man !!!
I would still be happy to draft RB Karlos Williams. I am slightly surprised that Jay Ajayi is still there or did I just miss him being picked?
Bone on bone, severe cartalidge damage from what I hear
ohhh jesus..that’s sad.
Ben heeney gone
Fuck you Raiders
Chris Kouffman @ckparrot
Jamil Douglas was cleanest, best pure guard play for Miami & best position fit. Other candidates had position and/or desire question marks.
I am bummed we missed Blake Bell, but he went too early for us.
I would like to try CJ Uzomah as a TE.
Auburn wasted his talents.
Have a feeling he goes undrafted, but I def agree with you that he is better than Auburns offense could show
UDFA for Uzomah works fine for me; he might need a yr on the practice squad anyway.
Naples derron smith I think is off the board
He is still there
When did he go
I liked Spaight too!
Tim
Jordan Tripp is exactly the reason we need completion at LB
Lol
Competition
There goes Amos 😦
OD
If we draft another OL I will bet you $10 he won’t start over Billy Turner
See above
Agreed. He wants to take Douglas in the bet too, which I wouldn’t do. I can see Douglas unseating Dallas Thomas and Turner starting on the other side. Albert, Douglas, Pouncey, Turner, James.
I know this sounds like a Kool-Aid suck up homerism, but I honestly think we got exactly the 4 guys so far we wanted. I know they loved Parker more than any other WR and he loves us. I know our DL coach loved his interview with Phillips and Jordan prayed we would take him. And they reached out and took the third rounder so you know they wanted Stills, and this guy Douglas’s profile reads like the perfect ZBS OG.
It’s time in the draft where we try to get guys to replace high priced players that may not be retained, DE comes to mind OV will be an FA, Shelby and Wake has a high cap #.
We can draft DE next year and go early. That would be smarter. Safety though definitely needs to be addressed lb too
Amos gone
My prediction for our 4 5ths
TE
2 DBs
LB
I think rb CB S and lb
Well there will be several S to chose from! 🙂
On deck!!!! I have a good feeling about the 5th round crop. Our analytics program will show it’s worth. I will not be even a little surprised if we glean two starters from the next 4 picks!
Starters of the future or this yr? I agree on starters of the future, you should be able to get 2 future starters out of 4 5ths.
5th round is the last round where you might expect a guy to contribute this yr, others can, but the odds are so high. There’s still good talent left on the board, guys that can play STs and rotational guys.
We are next..
As I mentioned before I’d love to see prewitt waller Kevin white and tiwan Jones would be solid.
My chart still has Derron Smith available, but there are some skips at the bottom of the 4th. What happened there?
Not Mycole! My draft is a shambles without my mycole
Did the vikings forfeit pick 143?
never mind i meant Giants but never mind
Smith, Derron FS 5’11” 197 Fresno St. 5.7
Drummond, Kurtis FS 6’1″ 202 Michigan St. 5.4
Holliman, Gerod FS 6’2″ 213 Louisville 5.4
Prewitt, Cody FS 6’2″ 217 Mississippi
Come on down!
Tull from Chatanooga maybe?
There is the CB, they have liked him all along
But do you like him?
I like the Douglas pick a lot. Now let’s kill the 5th round.
Did we just draft someone we already have?
LOL !!!
No this one is a Bobby
See below. We should be so lucky.
in the mold of Brent Grimes…undersized ballhawk CB.
Nice
now there are more than one McCain on the CB roster… lol
Another McCain!
You can get that Jersey without a number and be pretty safe!
I mentioned Bobby McCain this morning
He might not be conch material
But his name defiantly sounds like something I should sing after playing some harmonica
(Singing). This is the story of good ole Bobby McCain
The undersized CB from Memphis
(Harmonica solo)
Steve…yes…starters at some point during their rookie contracts. If two of them will be there, then both should be contributing right away on ST, or in backup situations IMHO.
I can see McCain starting in the next 4 yrs, and in the slot counts.
But good ole Bobby McCain probably means no Ifo
(Piggy throws the conch in the ocean)
Oh well
Grimes clone as you say with 12 INTs, 5 returned for TDs and a 20 yd average on return of INTs.
That’s great, but can he cover?
Stefon Diggs to the Vikings
(Piggy bows)
Cheats trading out again
Oh no another McCain! LOL
We will still have at least 2 of the before mentioned S on the board when we pick! 🙂
McCain also returns kickoffs @ 25 yds a pop. i do want someone to take that off Landry’s plate.
BOTTOM LINE Undersized slot corner with instincts to anticipate and the twitch and ball skills to do something about it. Much more comfortable processing and attacking from an off position and loses effectiveness when forced to play with his back to the ball. His 19 passes defensed and 11 interceptions over his last 22 starts are indicative of his athleticism and talent to play on the next level but he could be scheme dependent.
This kid is an athlete. Not super straight line fast, but combine TOP PERFORMER in Broad Jump, 3 Cone, 20 yd shuttle, 60 yd shuttle.
May as well go out on a limb, Steve, I think this kid will be one of the two starters we see coming out of this round.
McCain is stronger than Grimes with 17 reps of 225 and weighs a muscular 195 lbs.
Piggy, a bit surprised about Ifo TBH
Me too
We have a ton of McCains now
The Miami a Dolphins McPAIN defense!!!
Can he cover?
In his last 22 starts he had 19 PDs and 11 INTs.
lol and the packers found the thinnest woman in Wisconsin to announce the pick
Hundley to the Pack, let them have him, seems to work for them (grooming QBs for other teams).
Jahn, good points about McCain’s size and the analytics dept. in this round. We watch how this league works, you need quick twitch corners to cover those quick twitch pain in the ass WRs.
Thanks, I’m excited about this pick. Can’t wait for the next 3!
So we have the three McCains now. I guess Bryce gets Br. McCain, Bobby gets B. McCain and Chris gets to be simply McCain McCain. LOL
We’re doubly on deck
I’m not buying that McCain is strictly nickel
Me neither. Whos the lock opposite Grimes that he can’t supplant?
They say that about all undersized DBS
But all of our CBs are undersized
It’s counterintuitive, but it seems a viable answer to gigantic WRs is quick twitch undersized CBs. Reminds me of when I played Waterpolo in college. Smaller point players defended the larger holeset players (like a point guard defending a center in basketball) and it worked.
Who said he was? He’ll be given a shot to start, but Coyle doesn’t start rookies.
I think Coyle starts who are the most game ready. He’s played plenty of rookies every year.
That’s a great pick by the Packers. They know how draft and develop QBs. Rodgers learns from Favre, Hundley learns from Rodgers. Little downside risk.
Yeah, very solid backup for Rodgers the next few years.
I love Hundley good player
How ’bout the FSU TE here?
That is what I want
There goes Tull
A defensive playmaker, McCain doesn’t look like much and won’t win many foot races in the NFL, but he is quicker than fast with suddenness and body coordination to reside in a receiver’s shadow and make plays on the ball. He is a tough and willing run defender, but undisciplined and missed too many tackles on film.
A vocal leader with appealing football character, McCain’s on-field production as a cover man (11 interceptions the last 22 games) can be linked to his off-field preparation, working hard in the film to recognize offensive tendencies and run routes better than receivers.
… has to be kicked out of the film room …
You know what I like about this kid McCain. …works hard in the film room. His off-field preparation is very good.
LOL, Naples beat me on the film room quote.
Did the clock just run out on us ?
Did we just time out?
Lol
Wtf
Before McCain
All of our other picks were above 6’3
Away..
Effin spell check..
Jay Ajayai!!!
Wow
Well, that is a good pick.
