Their lack of big bats and defense is rearing its ugly head. The offense is becoming very tough to watch. I’ve had enough with Daniel Murphy. He is a horrible defensive player.
It’s tough. He is definitely a defensive liability, and if he’s not hitting, there’s no place for him. Not sure why they don’t bring up Matt Reynolds. I guess they feel like they owe Murph a long leash. I like Murph, but when he’s not hitting, he kills you.
Marlins recovered from bad start. Going through a mini slump right now with relief pitching but watch out this team can be dangerous.

We were 3-1, until 2 weeks ago we were short about 6 guys, so I got a few replacements, we just had 10 to play a double header, and it was UGLY! We were massacred. We faced the best pitcher, so there’s that, but we were awful in every phase. We didn’t pitch well enough, we couldn’t hit well enough, and we fielded worse than the previous two. We were “mercied” both games, 12-2, and 14-1. Like I said, UGLY! We had a BYE week for Mother’s Day, so we go into this Sunday’s games at 3-3.
So Dolphins found not guilty for tampering with Suh but Pats guilty for doctoring footballs. Ah, it’s a good day.

i remember when Marino was contemplating retiring the talk was (and who knows since Marino never said it himself) but the talk was he didnt want to go out like another HOF qb playing horrible. i dont know if it was Montana cause didnt he take the chiefs to the playoffs? i always thought it was Unitas cause he was so bad in S.D. Figured it was either that or namath, i believe he went to the rams at the end of his career and stunk it up, but namath was never mentioned in the same breath as Unitas or Marino so i doubt it was him

Tim, I agree A. Johnson has a slight edge, but I think Kamal Johnson and Deandre Coleman are right on his heels.
Kamal is very raw, didn’t get much PT as a senior, had issues, but the talent and body are there.
Coleman really interests me as a Phiilips type prospect out of Cal. He’s also 6’5, but a lil lighter 315. But he was very durable, I think he started most all his college games. So he won’t get the lazy label or injury prone label. He’s quick & can bull rush as well. If he can be coached up to not play too upright negating his leverage with his height, then I think he can be a nice rotational force and depth guy!
A.J. Francis 6-5 330 and Ellis McCarthy 6-5 325 are also in the mix.
I like Johnson as a backup to Mitchell, more of that quick shoot the gap type who also has good strength.
Yep, of course Francis is in the mix…but he needs to show consistency NOW. He’s been in the program long enough.

My brother is a Giants fan, and we were going to try to go to the game but a Monday night is a rough one as I’d have to take two days off of work.
Yeah I’m making it a mini-vacation. Will spend the weekend at my in-laws in Jupiter and then drive to the hotel on Monday, get settled in and go to the game that night. Drive back up on Tuesday and fly back that day as well if we can work it out like that.
My best advice — bring your bro to the fest and let him find his way to a Giants game at home. My guess is he’ll have a much better time overall. And the Dec hotel prices down here……you get the idea.

Ravens signed CB Kyle Arrington to a three-year contract.
The Ravens had been the favorites for Arrington since his release from the Patriots. His signing adds depth to a secondary that lacked proven options behind Jimmy Smith (Lisfranc surgery) and Lardarius Webb.

Been asked what I think of the punishment for the Pats and Tom Brady. As much as I try, I struggle to give an unbiased opinion. Call it Love for my Dolphins or my dislike for the Patriots. I can tell you that I didn’t like Brady’s brash behavior during that last interview.
Did anybody see/hear/read Terry Bradshaw’s rant about Brady? I heard he called him a liar and a cheater. Not sure where he got that from LOL but you know Terry calls it like he sees it.
He just tied Terry with the 4th SB, but all Terry ever got for his trouble was to be called a dumbass. Like Shula, he should be pissed.
Many players decide to declare for the NFL Draft early, but many of them do not realize how hard it is too make a roster. In the 2014 NFL Draft, a record number of 98 underclassmen, plus four more players with degrees, were granted eligibility for the draft. Of the 102 early entrants, 38 went undrafted (37 percent).
This year 24 of the 84 players went undrafted. The numbers are down quite a bit, thanks to the new rule in college football, but this still could have been prevented.

Declaring for the draft isn’t only about getting drafted, sure they all expect to, but a lot has to do with money, and not just right away, but the 2nd contract that comes a yr earlier. They also have agents pissing in their ear telling them how great they are.
Then they have the wrong agent. There is a process thru the league that has a draft advisory board that gives an assessment of where a prospective underclassmen would get drafted if they declared. It’s not fool proof but it’s a pretty good idea. The point is there is enough info out there for these guys to make a good well informed decision rather than just listening to some agent try to sweet talk them into signing on with them.
And family members, parents, trying to get a piece of the pie.

I was listening to Marciellus Wiley on Lebatard’s show on my ride home and he had the best expression of why from a player’s point of view that Brady should be punished. His quote was “I have never been mad at a player who beat me, but don’t ever cheat me.” That to me was the most articulate expression of why everything Brady and his supporters did, said, argued and what not is bullshit. If you can beat me then beat but don’t go outside the rules. That is what sports is supposed to be about.
Therein lies why Shula pulls no punches.
Wiley said it too in the context of someone who didn’t win a SB ring. His point is that he is not angry at not winning a ring if the other team beat his fair and square. He can live with that. What gets him mad is if a team wins a SB by going outside the rules. He went on to say how he lost friends when he found out they were using PEDs. He wanted no part of anyone who was doing that.

These young guys should be counseled to stay in college. I do see why RBs would want to get out early to keep the legs young and fresh and to avoid a catastrophic injury that might knock you down the draft a few rounds.

This has been something that they have been tinkering with for a while. Remember last pre-season they were experimenting with the xp being a 43 yard kick. My opinion is that the game is doing just fine. Don’t mess with it.
I agree and hate all 3 proposals, especially #1, if the cheats propose something they’ve got an angle to exploit it.
just make a TD worth 7 and not even have an extra point. What they are suggesting is ridiculous.
I like having the 2 point rule. It adds to the strategy of the game. If they do anything they should move the ball to the 1 instead of the 2 so as to encourage more 2 point attempts.

I am not buying that Mitchell is on the bubble. I think he is clearly in the mix as part of what looks to be a great rotation on the DL.
I don’t agree on Mitchell, it’s a reach at best, and Will Davis I wouldn’t think would be, but the numbers seem to say otherwise.
We signed and drafted a lot of DBs. Davis hasn’t really been able to see the field and he is pre-Hickey and pre-Tannenbaum. I think Davis is done.
DT Ellis McCarthy, WR Nigel King and I believe RB Dee Hart on our team from that UDFA list GD posted, but Hart is not listed on the official roster.

Yeah I’m making it a mini-vacation. Will spend the weekend at my in-laws in Jupiter and then drive to the hotel on Monday, get settled in and go to the game that night. Drive back up on Tuesday and fly back that day as well if we can work it out like that.
