…Still no pads

Dolphins Camp

Day one of training camp is in the books. Dallas Thomas has already been replaced, lol, and Michael Preston is our start WR. Forget DeVante Parker, Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills or the “Juice”, Preston caught two long bombs on the first day of camp and has been elevated to hero. This will be day two of practice today meaning there won’t be any hitting again. All we really want to see is the hitting. Dallas Thomas won’t lose anything until the pads come on nor will any one else. It’s one thing to know your assignments and be technically sound but as a lineman you have to move bodies so we will soon see who does.

It sounds like by all accounts that the energy is high, the attitude of the team is excellent and that even talk of having lofty expectations isn’t causing anyone to run away screaming. Word came out yesterday from Coach Philbin that NDominant Suh himself was taking 2nd round pick Jordan Phillips under his wing and that Suh had him working out with him. No problem there, thanks big man.

Suh is here, everything is different now!

No you di’ent

#strongertogether

All in all day one was taken as a positive, onward and upward for these Dolphins!

All the stories and comments in training camp about this guy working with the one’s or two’s is all nothing. It’s meaningless at this point. That’s why I was talking about the Mets all day. Hopefully they’re not meaningless soon.

Jarvis Landry is considered the “front-runner” to keep the Dolphins’ punt return job in 2015.
Landry will assume every-down duties at receiver, but he remains the Fins’ best option on kick and punt returns, as well. Landry ranked fourth in the NFL in kickoff return average as a rookie. Landry’s low aDOT (Average Depth of Target) in some ways caps his fantasy ceiling, but he set a 105-catch pace over the final nine weeks of 2014 and has added value in return-yardage leagues.

  43. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Seahawks signed QB Russell Wilson to a four-year, $87.6 million contract extension that includes $60 million guaranteed.
Wilson gets a $31 million signing bonus and is signed through 2019, his age-31 season. The deal is short compared to other quarterback contracts, but gives Wilson another potential bite at the free-agency apple when he’s still theoretically in his prime as a quarterback. Wilson’s $21.9 million annually in new money makes him the second-highest paid quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers ($22 million). There were whispers Wilson was aiming for a fully-guaranteed contract. He settled for 68.5 percent of it guaranteed, which is still better than any other quarterback. The Seahawks will now turn their attention to MLB Bobby Wagner.

I have it on good authority that the dolphins and Drew Rosenhaus have not even begun to talk about an Evan Mathis contract.

    Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero
Evan Mathis is waiting for right opportunity & money and is willing to wait. A vet like him isn’t lessened by missing some camp.

    Armando Salguero @ArmandoSalguero
Dolphins want to see Turner, Douglas, Thomas do before making any move. And they don’t want the youngsters to worry about a vet addition.
