Game Wrap Up:  Cowboys @ Dolphins

image

Well the Dolphin offense put up a whopping 210 yards and gave up a TD by throwing an interception to Rolando McClain deep in their own territory.

So you can guess the result on Sunday.

Lamar Miller averaged over 6 yards on the ground on Sunday.  So it only makes sense that he finished the game with 7 carries.  Looks like the Philbin gameplan will linger with the 2015 Dolphins.

image

The Dolphins had a shot after Jordan Cameron caught a TD right before the half.

Then Stills caught a TD to tie it at 14 points.

But at the end of the day the Cowboy made plays late and the Dolphins did not.

The Cowboys won 24-14

Piggy, here is the thing. Let’s take the science project. If my child was working on a project, I would see it, I would know about it. If It looked like a bomb, or a gun, or something that is not allowed, I would be calling the school, the teacher, and probably going to school with them to make sure there is no misunderstanding. And the students know what is allowed as well. It’s covered at the beginning of every school year. You have to fill out forms and sign, both the child and the parent, that you understand the school handbook. I can’t imagine it’s all that different anywhere else than it is where I live.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

bad judgment on the part of the parent for not thinking about that

but you can’t plan the bad judgment by the school
      you can’t rely on that

in fact, and its been a while since I read the story, but as i recall there were a lot of intervening points where it almost didn’t come to an arrest

I think focusing on the mistakes they make and jumping to the conclusion that it was therefore planned – is just too hard for me to believe

it really doesn’t matter if he was not supposed to do it
the reaction is what lead to the ordeal/lawsuit
and I don’t think that is so easily manipulated
      much less by child

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The science teacher already warned the kid to not show that to anyone else, good job, but it looks suspicious. The kid didn’t obey that teacher and pulled it out in another class and that teacher freaked.

      4 Mistakes were made.
      1. The parents were ignorant.
      2. The first teacher should have taken it from him and reported it and explained it to the principle/faculty to give a heads up but he/she didn’t.
      3. The kid didn’t obey the teacher.
      4. The second teacher who saw it overreacted as did the school cop.

Yeah okay, make this family rich with taxpayer money. The kid’s going to study abroad in Yemen or something. Go study and STFU!!!

I don’t know where that number comes from

I still don’t believe the child and family planned to manufacter one

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I’m going by what FFR posted. What does one has nothing to do with the other mean? He doesn’t deserve to become wealthy because of it. I mean that’s completely asinine. Has his life been hampered, no, he’s gotten more opportunities from it.

‘its hard to get that result’

well, it is hard for you to get it. not others. like herd just said i am sure they knew what they could and couldnt take to school.

and this wasnt a science project. this was not a school project. he built this on his own and took it to school to show it off to some teacher.

  7. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Yep, different time…different world. I’m not so sure it’s a better world though. It seems like fear rules our lives. But, I know I’m sounding like the old man on his porch again. I’m gonna go back to ripping Tannehill and watch while you get blamed! Lol

  8. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

    Piggy:
Bad judgement by the parents? It’s working out pretty well for them. You can’t tell me with all that has happened in schools with shootings that it wouldn’t be expected that the police would be called over something that looked like a bomb.

What’s it called in legal terminology? Contributory negligence?

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      it would be contributory negligence
but it might be a means to mitigate the damages somehow

Everything I read showed that most of the teachers knew and understood it was not a bomb
read tim’s post above (8:51) that’s a pretty good recap of the facts

If you know its not a weapon, I’m not sure why the police are being called
and even if they are called, if they identify its not a threat, then they probably won’t arrest anyone

a lot of adults defiantely overreacted on this one

  9. jetsssuck's avatar jetsssuck says:

brady may get hurt if this continues. He got some hits 3-4 times in 1st series

  10. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

And BTW I deal with manufactured cases all the time in my job
I am fully aware it happens
and I have to respond to it

but these facts are so dependent on the way the school reacted
at the end of the day, even if the parent and kid hoped for that reaction (which I find hard to believe) that reaction still happened

and if you think that’s okay – then fine, you are entitled to your opinion
but the gifts and the pres invite – that’s b/c of that reaction
not bc some one thought it might occur or planned it to occur
that response is from people that don’t like that the kid was arrested for making that clock
it doesn’t matter how much mudslinging you do about the intent (which is what this is IMO)
its still not something many people want to see happen in a school

it really doesn’t matter if they planned it (which sounds cuckoo to me – but whatever)
its the result that got under some people’s skin (and others not so much)

    • herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

piggy, I’m really not trying to pick on you. But it’s more a thing with it being at a school. Security is a big deal. Used to be, I could just go to my kids school, walk in the door. Now, I have to stand outside, press the button, wait for them to see me on the camera and unlock the door.
Anyone who thought there wouldn’t be a reaction, police called, the whole thing….that is crazy with things the way they are. And if the police are called to a school for a bomb threat, it makes the news. From there, well, you see what happened. 20 years ago I would have agreed with you. It would have been far fetched. Not today.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

That’s sad. My daughter went through that in HS when we moved to a new town. She had the freedom to leave in one town as a freshman and then had to have a badge and couldn’t leave the grounds until she was a senior.

When I was in grammar school even the early grades, I walked home for lunch and after school with friends or alone. I didn’t live far away, close actually but look at where we are now.

  11. Randy's avatar Randy says:

Do you have to show that you’ve been harmed in some way to win a lawsuit? No, I’m seriously asking because I have no idea. In this case, how was the boy harmed? Or does that not even matter because someone(the school district?) will just cave to media pressure and pay them? Is it enough to just have your feelings hurt? Was he slapped around when they arrested him?

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

damages are a component to every lawsuit
you can argue mental anguish or something that you can’t see
      or damage to his reputation

but if its not bodily harm
      I think its a lot less $$$

think about things like sexual harassment
there might not be any damage that some one can see
but we put a # on it in courts to stop it from happening

I’m not sure it will play out that way when its said and done

but in many lawsuits, the damages some one wins are more about stopping it from occurring again, rather than what the victim actually deserves

If he won and donated it all to charity would you feel differently?

well I think that is where reasonable minds differ in opinions

but that doesn’t not = to me that it was a set up
and I think people want to believe that b/c they feel the same way – buts its really hard to believe IMO
You have to expect a lot of missteps by the people around you to get that kind of result

  26. herdfan's avatar herdfan says:

You can’t apply reason to this. It is unreasonable to think that schools have to be fortresses today, but they are. I volunteered at my son’s school last year, and we had active shooter drills. That is unreasonable. But it’s also reality and it’s necessary. So if someone who broke the rules gets upset over the consequences of breaking the rules, oh well…lesson learned.

well no. not for me. it has nothing to do with the $$$$. i posted it the day it happened and i said from the start that it was all bs. all a set up and pre-planned. that the kid was wrong and he was the person responsible for what happened to him. that, he or his family knew from the start what was going to happen. you can judge all you want, but i said that the day i saw the story in the media. i was told then how wrong i was, yet wow, magically now there is a 15mil lawsuit.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

If “Clock Boy” had been a white child and the other circumstances were exactly the same does anyone think there would have been such an uproar? On the contrary, the school officials would probably be praised for their vigilance in protecting the other children. …And Obonehead would most certainly not have invited him anywhere near the White House. Just another case of PC run amok and cynical dirt bags trying to cash in.

The tuition and the job market aren’t on the same page

yep, and i know a crazy thought here. i mean better then just making it free for everyone and increasing the national debt even more but how about structuring college where if one want to become a teacher it doesnt cost the same as if some one want to become a doctor.

so then if a southern all american dad allows his kid to go to school in an all white long t shirt to the ground and a white cap in a basically black school nothing is wrong wih that, we dont want to racially profile anyone.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      These are private lawsuits

i totally agree with you there bat. but this bs of racial profiling is that, just bs. it has been around for ever, it isnt something new. we all do it every day in life.

This whole conversation is stupid, Campbell was thrown into the fire, never been even a coordinator and Omar talks about if he was a good coach. Even Belilcheat lost in Clev, so by his logic Belilcheat should’ve been labeled not a good coach. Just because he isn’t biting as a pup doesn’t mean he won’t be a good coach.

With that said I don’t think Campbell has what it takes to be a good HC, he just isn’t smart enough.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I understand that, just wishful thinking. I think the NFL was taking a page out of the NBA’s book tonight by not showing controversial plays. First half Buff. gets a first down on 3rd and 4, only to be called back by illegal formation with the RT too far off the LOS, I see that all the time and not called, why call it there? The catch by LaFell that was reviewed they didn’t show the ball after he rolled over, they showed it initially before anyone had a chance to really see what was going on. I haven’t seen replays show so little in a long time.

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I think it’s preplanned, but I’m a little perplexed with why the Pittsburgh officiating crew is giving the cheats calls tonight. The biggest no call was on the Hogie long pass, that was textbook PI, the CB didn’t look back, faceguarded, and the ball hit him in the back. The idiot Tirico says because it hit him in the back it wasn’t PI, Gruden agreed, or maybe he should’ve said because it hit him in the back it was PI.
