By Dr. Bruce Banner
So last week Hulk watch President give State of the Union Address and Hulk reminded that Constitution make President every year have to go tell congress what the state of the union is. So Hulk think maybe every year after season over Hulk should tell you what is the state of the Phins. So Hulk now tell you.
Ladies, gentlemen, and Fin Fan Rob, the state of our Phins is not good. Hulk know that many of you think that some quick fixes in this off season and that this team can compete next year. While Hulk knows anything possible Hulk here to tell you that competing next year is not likely. There are deep flaws in this team that are not likely to be corrected in one off season. Let’s start on offense.
Is four scores and seven points so damn hard to get? The offense average less than 20 points a game. That no going to work in today’s NFL. There must be more productivity at just about every position.
Hulk look at QB and remember that a house divided cannot stand. There is no more divisive figure to Phin fans than Ryan Tannehill. We hold these truths to be self evident: That he has passed for over 4,000 yards, completed over 60% of his passes and has had a 2-1 or better TD to interception ratio for two consecutive years. We also hold these truths to be self evident: That he seems to play his worst ball when the game is on the line in the 4th quarter and has failed to deliver against divisional foes more often than not. So Hulk and Phin fans everywhere wonder do we have a QB? Hulk still believe Tannehill can be franchise QB and even though Tannehill did not take the big jump forward that many expected this year he did show good deep ball this year, especially late in year to Parker. This next season is very important for Tannehill’s, Gase’s and Phins’ future. If Tannehill no progress then retooling project might just become an all out rebuilding project.
Now running back is an area where Phins got good production but Hulk foresees trouble next year. Under utilized Lamar Miller is going to be a free agent. He has shown enough productivity over the last 2 years that it is likely someone will come bidding for his services and that someone is likely a contending team such as Indianapolis or Dallas who both need a running back. So Hulk not counting on Miller being back. That leaves Jay Ajayai who flashed in limited opportunities but he have history of injury and behind him there is little depth. Hulk think running back once again become position of need.
Then there is the offensive line which is doing it’s best impersonation of the Maginot line which the Germans went right around with ease in 1940. Branden Albert is physically ailing and does not look like the player he was 2 years ago. He cannot be counted on for 16 games. Jawuan James followed up a promising rookie season with an injury plagued 2015 that saw him miss most of the season. That left Jason Fox as the defacto starting RT and the results were miserable. Fox is at best a single game alternative as a backup and not a guy who can be counted on for multiple starts. But as bad as the tackle play was this year the interior line play was worse. Hulk think it time to acknowledge the Dallas Thomas experiment is over. He just no good. Jamal Douglas won the other starting guard spot but lost it just as quickly as he won it. Billy Turner took over at guard and showed skill at run blocking which is unfortunately only half of the game and unfortunately in the case of the Phins more like a 1/3 of the game. So the offensive line remains a major weakness for the Phins.
Hulk happy to report that one area of offensive has positive news. The WR position has been turned from a deficit into a surplus. Jarvis Landry has set both team and league records over his first 2 years in the league and while not a burner he is an outstanding route runner and always seems to make the first defender miss and picks up good yards after the catch. Devante Parker overcame an injury plagued start to his rookie season and really flashed ability over the last several games. He has inconsistent habits in terms of effort and route running but you can see an exceptional skill set. He can get open deep, he can fight for the contested ball and he can run after the catch. He and Landry can become the cornerstone of a stud WR tandem for years to come. Kenny Stills provides a good #3 WR who has good speed and flashed the ability to get open deep. Rishard Matthews was very productive early then started to fade before getting injured. He is a free agent and likely not to be re-signed. Hulk think that we may want to pick up another WR for depth.
TE, all Hulk have to say is ugh! The state of the Phins is not good at TE. Cameron looked lost and failed to have significant impact in red zone as expected. Dion Sims seemed to have regressed as a receiver. He have some notable drops, in particular in game against Giants where he was miserable. Hulk think Phins need to get better TEs.
Hulk now turn to Department of Defense where despite massive spending the level of performance reached a new low. Phins spend lots of money for Suh who although he play okay he no worth what Phins pay him. Now Phins are burdened with his contract for the next several years and that may impair ability of Phins to sign other free agents. Suh was supposed to take up double teams so as to allow other players to make plays. Suh did that but no other players step up. Suh also had numerous off sides penalties. Earl Mitchell also seemed to lack in making impact plays. Again if Suh is getting double teamed Mitchell should be making more plays than he did. Jordan Phillips flashed promise as a rookie showing ability to generate inside pressure and a good knack for getting his hands up so as to bat down a number of passes.
At defensive end Hulk think we may have seen last of Cam Wake. He tore Achilles tendon and his recovery at his age is uncertain. Also his contract may be too large for someone with declining skills. Then we have Olivier Late & Low Vernon. Yes Vernon show ability to generate pass rush but he also have way too many personal fouls for late and low hits on QBs. Hulk not sure his sack yardage out gains his penalty yardage. Vernon is a free agent and Hulk has heard some pundits say the Phins will franchise Vernon. That would make Hulk very angry to tie up so much money into a DE who has produced middle of the road statistics. Hulk think DE is a position of need in this draft and free agency. This especially so when you consider the once promising career of Terrance Fede who went from being unblockable during training camp to being inactive over the last several games of the season. So the state of the DEs is not good.
If the state of the DEs is not good then the state of the LBs verges on abysmal. Only Jelani Jenkins is of NFL starting caliber and his play last season was not up to the level it was the year before. Koa Misi is best suited as role player and not as a starting LB. He just lacks the quickness necessary to play the position. At MLB Sheppard look lost at times. He has the physical skills but not the instincts for the position. This may be the greatest area of need on the team.
In the defensive backfield Reshad Jones is the only impact player we have. Jones had an excellent season and Hulk very angry that Jones no go to pro bowl. Hulk also very angry that rest of defensive backfield still on Phins roster. Brent Grimes while still has a knack for the interception but any WR with a modicum of speed can get behind Grimes. Jamar Taylor can now officially be labeled a bust. Of all the other CBs only Lippett flashed some potential late in the season but he remains very raw and largely untested. CB is a major area of need.
Finally there are the special teams. Matt Darr seems to have filled the large shoes of his predecessor. Andrew Franks has simply not kicked enough field goals to be properly evaluated. He shows a good leg but Hulk no trust him just yet. Landry is an outstanding punt returner but Hulk prefer he no return punts because he so good as a WR. Hulk think Phins need an upgrade at KR.
So there you have Hulk’s state of the Phins position by position analysis. The bottom line is Hulk see too many areas of need, OL, TE, DE, LB and DB for a quick turnaround. Hulk predicts he be very, very angry again next year. And remember vote early and vote often.

Soooo….Mike and Tim hate the signing I gather……LOL
It’s huge in a lot of ways. Reportedly, he turned down more to come back to the Mets. I like that.
Tim
That really changes the entire complexion of the season. The lineup has depth again. Every bat is better with him in the lineup
Broseph… we’re going back to the WS. 🙂
We have a solid shot right now
Who’s Broseph? Your closer? 🙂
Mike, what would be your Mets core lineup?
Granderson, Wrigjt, Cespedes, Duda, Conforto, Walker, d’Arnaud, Cabrera
I don’t like Cespedes in the 3 hole. LOL
Granderson-L, Wright-R, Conforto-L, Cespedes-R/Duda-L…
I want Cespedes getting more AB’s. Also, Conforto isn’t a proven hitter against left handed pitching.
“My goal is to continue to make sure the team loses so OD can keep referring to me and my associates as the Doofus Brigade”
It’s all about Tannehill, if he can become a clutch QB, then we’ll make the playoffs next yr, if not it will be the same ole…It won’t get done by himself though, Gase will have a lot to do with it.
Mike E, the Mets are a powerhouse right now. Coming off of a WS loss sucked. But the 2016 team could be dominant. Go Phins!!! LOL
Cespedes came from the other league are tore it up for the Mets, but that’s not who he’s been in his career, he got hot and the pitchers hadn’t seen much of him, but that pitching staff…
BIG signing for the Mets last night, despite Steve’s negativity about it! Of course Cespedes isn’t going to be as hot as he was when he first got here, but just as important as his bat is the protection he will provide the rest of the lineup. Im glad someone in the Mets organization realized that we needed to sign a big FA, and I’m also glad that Cespedes was willing to stick around for at least another year with bigger offers on the table.
Hope you folks in the northeast are safe & hunkered in. Guess I won’t bitch about the 31 for a low tonite in Fla.
Thanks GD. We’re actually not even getting a flake where I live- it’s mostly coastal.
I can’t believe I did a mock draft this early:

It’s so damn exciting man. I woke up in a great mood, knowing the Mets will be for real this season again. They didn’t drop the ball, they put their balls on the table and signed the bat they needed. What a difference from years past! LET’S GO METS!!!
Exactly. I was so pissed off when the weren’t looking hard at some of the FA available. I was thinking “Great, we have this incredible pitching staff that will only be together for so long, and we aren’t even going to try to acquire and big bats to help them out”.
Steve
Cespedes doesn’t have to be as good as he was in the 2nd half. He gives the lineup so much more length, and everyone around him sees better pitches. That’s a big way he transformed the team, it wasn’t just his performance, he upgraded everyone else in the lineup.
Bri
I was thinking they were going to trade a pitcher to get a bat, and that still may happen at some point in the next couple of years. No way we keep all of that pitching, it’s incredible, Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, Matz, Wheeler, Monteiro . . . Can’t keep all of them. It’s hard to keep 3 big pitchers, let alone 5.
Yup. I wish the owners weren’t in such dire financial straits right now. I would have loved to see Mark Cuban make a play for the team. Ownership is too stubborn to give up the team though, even if it doesn’t have the means to back the team financially right now. I’d like to see them keep Degromm and Syndergaard long term though.
My guess is as soon as Wheeler shows he’s healthy, he’s going to be trade bait.

Good mock, fills just about every hole. Even got a lil Gronk in there.
Piggy,
I recall you doing a scouting report on Jalen Ramsey before the season began. I remember being impressed with him and saying something to the effect of “I really like him, but we won’t be picking nearly that high in the draft next year so we won’t have a chance to draft him”.
Lol
I guess you are kind of right since he might go top 5
Brian, nice mock draft, but I’d hate to spend a 3rd round on a QB when we have so many needs now on defense.
Thanks. It was a bit of a homer pick, but I’d probably take a flier on him in the 3rd without my allegiance to PSU. I’d love to bring in some competition for Tannehill via the draft.
I don’t think you will see anyone brought in to compete with Tannehill this season. I do think it is possible you will see someone to be groomed as a backup and or possible stopgap should Tannehill not progress next season
I basically have reserved one of our 7th rounders for drafting a FB who allready has a brother in the nfl
Both JJWatt and Gronk have brothers who are FBs and will be available late

Ken,
No one is taking Tannehill’s job this season (his salary prevents that), but my idea for bringing Hackenberg in is to give him a little push so he doesn’t feel to comfortable, and at worst maybe Hackenberg develops into a solid back up.
I don’t see us going that early for a QB and I pray it’s not Hackenberg
Naughty Herd….must be the frost bite 😉
Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 8: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
Round 2 Pick 11: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
Round 3 Pick 10: Kyler Fackrell, OLB/DE, Utah State
Round 4 Pick 9: Josh Forrest, ILB, Kentucky
Round 5 Pick 8: Deon Bush, FS, Miami (Fla.)
Round 6 Pick 11: Harlan Miller, CB, Southeastern Louisiana
Round 7 Pick 6: Brandon Doughty, QB, Western Kentucky
Round 7 Pick 10: Cassanova McKinzy, ILB, Auburn
I’d love Tunsil there, but I highly doubt he lasts that long.
lol, yup, that’s why I had to take him. Maybe a rumor made him slip. 😉

What’s the problem? No worse than Rockphin’s avi I have to see a good deal of the time.
LOL, butt yours is hairy…eww
I enjoy Rock’s avi as much as you enjoy this one.
You hetro you!
You getting a lot of snow Herd?
Mike and Brian, we’ll have a major league lineup with Cespedes from the start with all 4 starters right from the get go as opposed to the half minor league lineup and two starters we started with last year. Big difference. This team is going to be tough to beat.
So I guess we got a foot already and it’s not done. Yikes!
18 to 19 inches in my front yard from what I can tell…it seemed to be up to my knees when I stepped in it. Definitely is higher than the snow boots I have…brrrrr.
and it’s still snowing but seems to be slacking off.
That’s a lot of snow. It can look pretty, but not when you have to negotiate living in it with your daily routines.
ESPN Jets reporter Rich Cimini does not expect impending free agent ILB Demario Davis to re-sign with the team.
A third-round pick in 2012, Davis took a step back in his first year playing in Todd Bowles’ scheme. Still young and with some good play on tape in 2014, Davis should be able to find a home early in free agency. Davis had 89 tackles in two sacks while starting all 16 games last season.
___________________________________
Kinda have my eye on him as a FA the Phins could use.
He was drafted by Mr. T too.
He’d be a good LB to sign away from a division rival upgrading our LB corps and weakening theirs. 🙂
Agree, is why I’m key on him. Then draft another LB.

What do you think of the Cowboy Yarbrough for the Phins?
He’s about like McCain
To small for a 3-4 OLB but he gets a lot done on effort! Not fast enough to go around the edge
He would get destroyed by a NFL OT or a TE
He’s got a lot of hart though!!!!!!!
http://draftbreakdown.com/players/eddie-yarbrough/
I have the weather channel on and they say Tunnelton WV has reported 34″ of snowfall so far (most of any town)
Tunnel a ton of snow just to get out….sheesh
GD, yeah if we added a guy like Davis and drafted another LB in the top 3 rounds along with Jenkins, Misi, Hewitt and Vigil, we could have a nice LB corps. Hewitt impressed me and I think he could turn out to be a real diamond in the rough as an UDFA.
Al, you ready for the Mets to tear up the NL East? 😉

Well we went to the WS with a lesser team than we have now. The Mets have a better lineup and starting pitching to start the season than they had last year. The defense is better and bench is deeper too. We need to find one more reliable reliever.
This team has 100 win potential.
Here’s the edge rushers

They are bringing in the fences at marlins stadium and also lowering the wall height…going to be 5 feet high in one spot I heard

Oh man the Jersey shore is a mess with flooding. The tidal waves are at dangerous levels.
Sounds like a ‘situation’. Hope he gets swept away…lol
LOL, no seriously it’s bad.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/flooding-strikes-jersey-shore-massive-snowstorm-wallops-east/story?id=36467962
That is bad. I could deal with being snowed in/under, but water/flooding is the worst.
Praying for those people.
You guys in the north east doing this?
LOL, I saw that.
Piggy must be snowed in. NYC looks to be getting it bad. Guess he’ll have to fart at home indoors now.
I’m glad my in-laws went to my brother-in-laws house which is in the Trenton area. They’re 85 and usually snowbirds but my mother-in-law is sick and the doctors are better up north. They haven’t experienced this for 20 years.
We’ve got probably over a foot now and it’s still coming down.
Andrew Abramson @AbramsonPBP 18m18 minutes ago
With the Danny Barrett hire, #Dolphins coach Adam Gase has now filled out his offensive staff http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/01/23/dolphins-add-former-ucf-interim-coach-danny-barrett-to-staff/ …
Well most fans wanted a blow it up and they got it. I know Tannenbaum is still here after one year lol, but we have a new GM and coaching staff with only Rizzi carrying over as the STs coach. He deserved to be retained, his unit was the best on the team last year with a rookie kicker and punter.
I think retaining Rizzi was a good move for Gase. Rizzi knows the team, was asst. HC to Campbell, handled a lot of team itinerary as well as coaching the STs. He’ll be one of Gase’s captains.
It’s at least 15″-20″ right now, and it’s not supposed to stop until about 1 or 2AM
I can’t even tell right now with the drifts but it’s still coming down.
Snowmageddon…WOW.
But be glad it’s snow. Some of the states south of you are having or had bad ice storms, that and the flooding on the coastline.
PFF OL Rankings for 2015:
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/01/20/pro-ranking-all-32-offensive-lines-this-season/
31. Miami Dolphins (32nd)
Pass-blocking rank: 29th
Run-blocking rank: 32nd
Penalties rank: 25th
Stud: While Mike Pouncey is the best of this bunch, he didn’t even need to have anything close to his best year to be the stud here.
Dud: Is it time to call an end to the Dallas Thomas experiment? He graded worse in 2015 than he did in 2014, and struggled whenever faced with semi-decent opposition.
Summary: On the plus side, they moved up a spot. But that was due more to the Chargers being that bad, rather than Miami getting better. Given how much money and how many high draft picks the team has spent, it has to be considered a monumental failure that they produce as badly as they do.
32. San Diego Chargers (29th)
Pass-blocking rank: 32nd
Run-blocking rank: 31st
Penalties rank: 29th
Stud: Joe Barksdale, and it wasn’t close.
Dud: The seven lowest grades on offense belonged to linemen. None more so than Trevor Robinson, who had the lowest grade of any lineman in the league.
Summary: Just terrible. Injuries hurt them to the point they had 12 players take snaps on the line, and nine feature for more than 100 snaps. That kind of lack in continuity is a killer, but still doesn’t explain how bad this group was. Big-money signing Orlando Franklin didn’t produce, and former first-rounder, D.J. Fluker, is not impressing. They just haven’t got it right on the line and it shows each and every game.
Run-blocking rank: 32nd? I thought they were actually pretty good at it when we attempted to run the ball.
I thought the samething…the low ranking must be because of the few attempts.
I sure hope we find a way to keep Miller. I like Ajayi, but we can’t put all the eggs in his basket.
Combine those bad OL numbers with the fact that the Phins were near 32nd in stopping the run & you get a sense why this team was not able to win games.
Losing the war on both sides of the trenches is never going to get you far in the NFL.
GD, we will either re-sign Miller or sign a low tier vet and draft a back 3rd rd on.
Right, but I rather keep the proven player that’s still very young. Even if it costs more than usual. We’ve overspent on other players before with less results.
If I’m Tbomb/Grier, I find a way to make it work. If I’m Gase, I’m demanding that they keep him! 😉
Agreed. Someone posted a FA contract projection and Miller was in the 4 year $18-20M range. I’d do that in a heartbeat, he’s earned it. He’s our most explosive player. 241 touches for 1,269 yards and 10 TDs – 8 Rush and 2 Rec. Big explosive plays as well.
This from PFF:
Stud: You think the Richie Incognito moved paid off? Not only did he show no signs of rust, but he was our top-ranked left guard on the entire year.
Always wanted Richie back. Where’s Martin playing these days?
Yeah, Philbin & Ireland blew that bigtime….UGH!
The NFL and social media fucked us on Incognito. Ireland had nothing to do with letting Incognito go, he was fired at the end of the season. We couldn’t retain him for PR reasons.
Yup, political correctness over done.
He called him a fag, He’s a bully, Whaaaaa. He must be burned at the stake now….lol
“They are bringing in the fences at marlins stadium and also lowering the wall height…going to be 5 feet high in one spot I heard”
Al — that would make sense. The way they had it last year reminded you of a Kansas wheat field. Good for my Bucs ranging outfield, but not sure why they would do that……especially with their pitching.
Don’t worry about the Bucs, the Mets are taking the NL. 🙂
We are starting to get some good snowfall here in CT. Not like you guys in Jersey or NYC or WVA for that matter but looking like we are going to get 10″ Thinking about going in the hot tub. I always love doing that in the snow.
It’s getting heavier here. You’ll likely get a lot quickly.
Stanger:
Just say not to Richie. The guys a cancer. He may be a pretty good OG but trouble has followed him just about everywhere he has been. Give it time in Buffalo something will blow up there with him too.
Incognito and the Ryan brothers. LOL
Exactly. LOL
LMAO, I can just see those 3 @ the local strip club.
He’s a taunt no doubt, but i would have kept him….even if I didn’t want him to be the leader of the OL. How you feel about the guard situation last year?
It was the incident at the golf club that bothered me most about him. He is just a bad person. There is no excuse for his behavior and ultimately you can’t have him on the team. I don’t care how good he is.
I agree on the golf club. That was the one that really got me. But if you are going to kick off all the lunatics off your squad you can’t field an NFL team.
When does FA start this year?
Middle of March?
Ken, have you seen the Jersey shore due to the tidal waves?
I try not to watch reality tv. LOL. But no I have not. I hear it’s pretty bad right now.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/flooding-strikes-jersey-shore-massive-snowstorm-wallops-east/story?id=36467962
Wildcards on defense:
DE/OLB Jordan and D. Moore pan out as edge guys for us.
LB Hewitt and Vigil are legit.
DB Taylor and Aikens rebound.
Don’t care on Moore. He is a major head case. I don’t think he is long for the league.
That’s why I considered him a WC. He’ll only be 24 when the season starts and already has 3 years NFL experience. He has talent at 6-5 250.
We need one guy to become a player out of Jordan, D. Moore and C. McCain.
We are getting rocked with snow. We’ve gotta be 15-18″ now.
No signs of stopping.

—————-
Yeah TIm — they very well may. Good for you guys for signing a stud next year for about as much as 30% of the Bucs’ 2016 payroll. Must be nice to be you guys. We just don’t have that choice.
Bro, we’re a big market team that has been acting like a small market team for years. Alderson is a magician. He pulls gems out of a hat. 🙂
The Bucs payroll is $75M?
It was $90 mil last year. So maybe the 30% should have been 28%,,,,,,,,but close enough. 25th in the majors.
Does anybody here have the Amazon Fire Stick? I just purchased it and installed Sports Devil. It allows you to stream any live sports straight to your TV. It appears to work perfectly, which makes me think I can get rid of DirecTv and save $1500 per year. It seems to good to be true.
I’m just wondering if anybody else has any experience with this, and has had any issues or has warnings or words of wisdom to impart.
I have it and the buffering is horrible.
Ah, I was wondering about that. I’ve been playing around with hockey games and it’s worked perfectly, but nobody watches hockey, lol. Sites streaming football will get a lot more traffic.
I have one, but I don’t know anything about this SportsDevil….tell me more. I’d love to tell Directv to take a hike. I use it for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu….works fine. If it weren’t for my kiddos and Sunday ticket, I wouldn’t have satelite or cable.
Sorry Mets baseball talk. 🙂
This is a potential Mets lineup on any given day. If they stay relatively healthy and who knows, with their pitching staff, it would be hard to imagine them not winning at least 95 games.

OF Ceciliani (L) 3-5
The Pitchers are probably good for 2-3. LOL
Shall I post the Braves roster? 😉
Go for it. Enjoy your 75 wins. LOL
Tim Moore is not a WC for us. The Giants were desperate for pass rushers in a race for the division and they let him go during the playoff chase. Moore is not a realistic option. He is not even worthy of consideration
But I think Campbell is right on Coples tho. Hopefully the new coaches see it that way and they can get new life out of him. After he restructures of course…lol
Coples is a serviceable DE with size at 6-6 290 and pretty good athletic ability. $2-3M type guy.
Well yeah he is, we acquired him for 700K per this year. No biggie. Like I said, one of the 3 would be good.
Herd,
It’s a little bit techy, but there are some good instructions online (i’m not a techy, so if I can do it anyone with some tech knowledge can manage it). You basically enable your fire stick to be accessed by your computer through the wireless network, and install kodi onto the firestick. Once you have Kodi, you can load up all sorts of add-ons including sportsdevil. So far it looks fantastic to me. I’m loading up watchseries now to see if that works too(which lets me watch all tv programs).

Here is one set of instructions for installing sports devil.
LOL @ Kong discussing his fire-stick with Herd. He thinks it looks fantastic. Look at all the loading he’s doing. LOL

I’m a huge fan of Coach Adam Gase! Can’t wait to see what the next few years hold for my Miami Dolphins! #newbeginning #toughertogether
That’s a nice unsolicited endorsement. That or he wants to stay employed by Finsider….lol
I’m sure D. Moore will be a camp body early on, unless we go crazy on DE’s in the draft.
Even if Wake takes a big pay cut to remain, he won’t be ready till about game 6 of the season…IMO.
He’ll likely open on the PUP, or even IR/designated to return.
LMAO, Tim.
When I was typing out “fire stick”, I knew that wouldn’t go untouched, lol.
Tim, 75 wins? Yeah, probably, they’re in a rebuild. 2017 is the target year to win the NL.
Besides, your condescending remark just jinxed the Mets. I wonder how Mr. Hand will feel about that? 🙄
GD, what condescending remark?
I admit I’m cocky about the Mets. If there is no real bad stuff that happens to the pitching staff this is a 95-100 win team. Cespedes wanted to stay here because he knows playoffs and excitement will be here. 🙂
I’m so happy for you guys I can hardly contain myself….lol
Enjoy it while it lasts.
Two teams won more than 95 last year in all of MLB……..and one of them was not the Pirates. How many did you predict the Dolphins to win last offseason?
The Mets had two young stud pitchers in Harvey and deGrom and half of their lineup was Triple A talent to start last season.
This year it’s four young stud pitchers in Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard and Matz.
Not only did this team taste a Championship title, they competed for it. They now know what it takes. 90 wins last year with that team, I can easily see 97-100 wins this year.
I can see that too. Was just pointing out the odds are against it. Understand why you are excited about the signing though. I’d take the Mets over the Pirates right now…….would still bet you they don’t win 97 or more though. That would be a suckers bet. There are 32 teams and one breaks a 100 every three years or something.
Mr. Miko Grimes: This guy’s allowed to wear the pants on Sundays-Saturdays.
Tim,
I think the Mets will win between 90-93 games this season. 100 games is A LOT to ask!
Don’t mind Tim
With all that snow outside, he is sitting there typing on his computer like Jack Nicholson in the Shining on his typewriter.
Lol!
I’d be surprised, if they didn’t win a 100.
The Mets won 90 games last year with a minor league lineup for 2/3rds of the season. The 2016 team is far superior. You heard it here first. LOL
…and second…and third…..
LOL, just bustin on you.
Must be nice to cheer for a team that actually is a contender.
I have the Dolphins, Brewers and Bucks..:(
Mine are Dolphins, Dodgers, Lakers and Kings.
The guy sitting in front of me at the Chargers game was a Dolphins fan from Palm Springs, I had been talking to him for much of the first half when I heard him tell his cousin next to him, he was a Dodgers fan. I said I bet we like all the same teams, and sure enough we did, he was pretty surprised, he’d never met anyone that likes those 4 teams as their favorites in each sport.
Wow, way to go out on a limb there Timmy. The regular lineup by itself isn’t much better than average, it’s the pitching staff that makes the Mets the NL favorites.
Tim is probably a little more confident than I am with the Mets. I totally understand his logic though, because the lineups we were trotting out there in the first half of the season in ’15 were a joke. It wasn’t just Cespedes that turned the team around in the 2nd half, it was having a lineup full of major league talent when we acquired Kelly Johnson and Jose Uribe from the Braves, and then brought up Michael Conforto from the minors, and David Wright became healthy enough to play. That all came together at the same time, and it made a huge difference in the run production. Now with the acquisition of Cespedes and Neil Walker, we can put out a quality lineup almost every day, and that added to the starting pitching talent we have should bring us a very good season.

I’m a huge fan of Coach Adam Gase! Can’t wait to see what the next few years hold for my Miami Dolphins! #newbeginning #toughertogether
————————————————————————–
I’d never heard of Gase before the season ended, but after listening to him and the write ups about him I can easily see him as being the next great young coach. It’s the creativity, dedication, and understanding in general of how to run an offense that does it for me. It may take him a while to get things going, but once he does…Either that or someone is doing a great smoke job on us.
I don’t know anything about the new coaching staff!
So I’ll just share whatever info I get and wait for the season!

Go Denver knock the patsies out.
Go Camolina win it all!
I am headed to the port to get on my cruise to the sunny warm Caribbean I could not have picked a better time to go with temperatures in the 40’s here in Florida!!! I may be able to stop in depending on the Wi-Fi situation on the ship but if not everybody have a great week go dolphins
Nice! Have a great time Rock- you deserve it!
Awesome Rock. All you have to do is know what time dinner is and your cabin number, buy that unlimited drink package, and don’t fall off the ship.
LOL @ Bookman
Steve, I agree it’s about the Mets pitching. My point about the lineup is that it’s made up of all major leaguers now and not Triple A guys like it was for a good portion of the season last year. They also have some pop at every position. Alderson built this team on power pitching and power in the lineup.
We are all Gumby fans today……even Ken. 🙂

Wyo, two guys we should be looking at from that EW Shine GAme is Graham Glasgow the C/OG that Jim Harbaugh’s been praising all year, he looks really made for an OL. & the LB De’Vondre Campbell from Minnesota, I like his long frame with speed.
Both cats should be late round gems!
I am getting on the ship now. This may have been a mistake. I appear to be the youngest person waiting to board LOL.
LOL — you got to talk to me more. After my divorce I went on a cruise, but it was a singles cruise. Not saying the talent was great but everyone was looking to hook up. 🙂
Hey GDP — we are all Peyton fans today.
Dolphins hired Danny Barrett as RBs coach.
Barrett played 15 seasons in the CFL as a quarterback and slot receiver. He served as UCF’s interim head coach after George O’Leary resigned with four games left in the 2015 season. The Dolphins recorded a league-low 344 rushing attempts in 2015. Lamar Miller led the team with 872 yards and eight touchdowns but he’s headed for free agency.
_________________________________________
Son, I like this hire.
BTW, we got to try and keep Millertime & then work the wheels off him!
Even though he isn’t a player its nice to have a UCF connection on the Fins. I hope Barrett does well along with the rest of the new staff.
Rock if you hit on my mother I’ll whoop your ass, lol
She’d probably do it for ya…man overboard. lol
Lol
Stanger, yes I’m a Donkey fan today. I want the Cheatriots to lose in humiliating fashion!
But I fear Belicheat will stack the box to stop the run & force Gumby to beat them with wounded ducks. He’s thrown a lot of INT’s at Mile High this year….ugh!
The evil genius is just that…….and that game plan makes sense. I like the weather forecast though.
“Showers, possibly a mix of snow and rain, are expected to begin between 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.”
Wouldn’t that even things up if it turned into ground and pound and dump off?
Go Gumby!
LOL — and I know how painful that was for you. 🙂
I have nothing against Peyton. I just thought at the time that his injury history made him a poor investment. I wanted a young QB who would have a longer window to play at a high level at.
And your call on that could have been exactly right at the time, even if you are talking to a guy who has a “Peyton to Miami” T-shirt. Interesting to think about what a different world it would have been though. With that one move…….80% of all the football posts on this board in the last four years would be erased and other ones in their place.
Have fun Rock
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Raiders could move to San Diego for the 2017 or 2018 season.
Schefter’s source called the potential move “very viable.” The Raiders-to-San Diego possibility was first reported two weeks ago by ESPN’s John Clayton following a private discussion with Raiders owner Mark Davis. The Chargers are fully expected to join the Rams in Inglewood (CA), creating room for the Raiders in San Diego. Even after missing out on Los Angeles, Davis seems dead set on leaving Oakland. The Raiders have also been linked to San Antonio, but San Diego is a more realistic relocation option.

This is becoming nuts. The NFL is gonna screw itself up.
Gonna be weird saying or remembering to say, we play the Los Angeles Rams & Los Angeles Chargers, or how bout them San Diego Raidaz….what’s next, the Hackensack Jets or the Toledo Titans….smh
Stanger, yes, I saw that forecast for Denver & that’s my hope. That the Pats have some costly turnovers. But Denver runs the ball much more soooo……
I didn’t check……but lets hope for high winds too, but not medium ones. 🙂
Let’s just hope Vonn Miller and DeMarcus Ware get to Brady early and often.
It’s pretty sunny right now with no clouds anywhere
So a Dad and his 3 young sons pulled up in front of my house just as I was ready to go out and shovel and asked if I needed my property shoveled and I said hell yeah. Dad had a snow blower and the 3 kids had shovels along with me. What would have taken me 4-5 hours of back breaking work was done in 45 minutes. I paid them 50 bucks and was glad to do it. 🙂
I was then able to help my elderly neighbor clean his cars off so he could snow blow his driveway etc. It couldn’t have worked out better. I can watch some football now. 🙂
Funny how lil things in life can work themselves out. Good going.
Yeah it was awesome. We got pounded with about 2 feet.
Sounds like Dad was trying to teach his sons the value of good work. And good for both him and you. I’m sure you were real happy to pay the four of them the equivalent of $10 an hour for what it would have taken you. And it freed you up to do good work yourself. Win and Win.
They said $40-50 and I happened to have a 50 dollar bill so it was perfect. The Dad was doing it for them to make money, not him. So the kids really made 16.67 each for less than 1 hour. 🙂
Boulder, it’s supposed to be 50% chance of rain later today with 12mph wind @ Mile High. How far are you from there?
Got my tickets for the Senior Bowl last night. Gonna take my oldest kid. Should be fun.
Good for you and your son. Teach him how to scout talent better than Ireland did.
Daughter
Sorry for making the sexist assumption, but even better. Nothing like a woman who knows football.
OD says kick Tbomb in the nads while you’re there.
Uh Oh, trouble in paradise…
“Several sources” tell the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Packers coach Mike McCarthy is “fed up” with GM Ted Thompson’s “unwillingness to take a chance and reinforce the roster with veteran players.”
Ian Rapoport ✔ @RapSheet
#Dolphins safety Reshad Jones, who probably should’ve been in the Pro Bowl already, was just added to the game now.
__________________________
Congrats #20, you sure as hell earned it.
Awesome. He deserves it. A Ravens fan at that game asked me, “who is #20?” I said “that’s Reshad Jones…he should make the Pro Bowl but probably won’t cause our team sucks.”
He has another year like 2015 & every fan in the NFL will know who #20 is.
SB7, well the Bills just hired the first female coach so you never know. 🙂
That’s not as encouraging as I think you meant it. Lol.
Will she give Rex a foot massage?
ESPN’s Ed Werder reports Tony Romo plans to undergo surgery on his left collarbone, which he’s broken three times since 2010.
He’s not going to last much longer. He can’t handle being slammed to the ground anymore.
I think we really forget or overlook how lucky we are to have a ironman @ QB.
Most QB’s would be crippled with all the hits Tannehill has taken the past 4 years.
Digging out of the snow. My kids have been out shoveling, they got my car and the upper driveway where I normally park cleared out yesterday afternoon. The snow was powdery yesterday, but now it’s perfect for making a snowman which is what they are doing now. School is already cancelled for tomorrow. I’ve been cleaning out my kitchen cabinets since yesterday and still not finished. Sometimes it’s good to be stuck inside for awhile and get things done I don’t seem to have time for otherwise.
