If I was betting I’d take the Panthers, but I may be leaning towards Denver, if not. Kubiak has laid out a blueprint for how the Donkies can win in all 3 phases, I just don’t see it, rarely does the clear underdog win. More of a chance that they get blown out.

Going now to some bar to watch, but if I cared for the game I might go down to the LV strip and pay megabucks to see it. Anywhere from $100 to what ever you want to pay, is what the casinos are charging, but that’s not all some include a normally $10 buffet.

Panthers declared RB Cameron Artis-Payne, WR Brenton Bersin, CB Lou Young, S Dean Marlowe, RB Brandon Wegher, WR Kevin Norwood, and DE Ryan Delaire inactive for Super Bowl 50 against the Broncos.

Broncos declared RB Juwan Thompson, QB Trevor Siemian, S Lorenzo Doss, DB Taurean Nixon, DL Darius Kilgo, G/C Sam Brenner, and OG Robert Myers inactive for Super Bowl 50.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

The only teams Carolina faced that have a defense this year was SEA and HOU. The Cardinals (Carson Palmer) self destructed and handed the Panthers the game. This is really the first adversity this team has faced in many many weeks.

  18. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Well, so far Cam looking less than average against a real good defense.

  19. Broncos aint out of this yet
    HOLD ON!

  20. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

HERDFAN: Check your mail box!!! My article “WHY I’M NOT HAPPY WITH STEVE ROSS (AND HOW TO FIX THE MESS HE CREATED)” has been shipped to you. For brevity’s sake, I omitted my point of view that Ross’s current upgrade stadium plan LIKELY will be enough to get at least ONE MORE SUPER BOWL in the current stadium. But, had Ross done it right (with a totally new retractable dome stadium like Marlins’ Park or U. of Phoenix Stadium), he’d probably be looking at SEVERAL MORE SUPER BOWLS IN SOUTH FLORIDA DURING THE LIFE OF THE new stadium.
    ————————————————
wHEN THEY ANNOUNCED THAT A 1ST TIME Super Bowl referee would be in charge, I told Mrs. OD, “Look for several BLOWN CALLS that hopefully will be righted by instant replay.” BINGO on the blown call and BLOWN REVIEW of the good catch by Jericho Crotchery!!!–That blown call cost Carolina about 30 yards in field position, a key factor when Newton’s fumbled was covered for a TD for Denver!! Anyway, I’m rooting for Manning and the Broncos, but I’d hate to see the win tainted by a blown call and a blown review. Right now, that blown call is the difference in the game! –DID they talk about that at halftime (I was busy doing a chore for Mrs. OD, who is still hurting big time from lower back surgery)??

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

PS: Good thing the SB wasn’t played in Tampa today. VERY WINDY, winds of 30+ MPH and temps in the 50’s. All passes would look like they were thrown by P. Manning left handed!

  29. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Just goes to show you, a QB can look pretty effing bad when he doesn’t get protection, doesn’t have time to throw, and gets no running game. Cam is no different than any other QB in that situation, he just hasn’t BEEN in that situation in a very long time. Tonight he was, and he looked like a below average QB.

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

“DOESN’T GET PROTECTION, DOESN”T GET TIME TO THROW, LOOKS LIKE A BELOW AVERAGE QB …” Now, Mike, just WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? –COULD IT BE – – –

  30. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

PLEASED FOR PEYTON MANNING, a truly classy guy. Also glad Broncos won convincingly so that the blown call and blown replay weren’t as prominent as they would have been if the score had been really close. HOPE Manning retires after he achieved so much in his career. He is unquestionably one of the greatest to ever play the game. Me and Mrs. OD were in the Hoosier (RCA) Dome for his very first NFL start, against the Miami Dolphins. Manning looked very ordinary that day. He threw a “Pick 6” to Louis Oliver and the Dolphins won in convincing style. –That’s one program I wish I’d kept!!

  31. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

I thought the offensive adjustments by Carolina were nill and the gameplan just didn’t make sense to begin with. Did they really think they’d have time to run the plays they were running against Denver’s defense? Watching Cam fall on the ground when they called that PI on Norman in the endzone had me rolling though. Hate to see Peyton get another free SB but didn’t think Cam should get one either.

  32. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

HULK: Didja see that commercial of YOU and the mini-coca cola can?? You crushed that little can like like it was Tom Brady!!

  33. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Congrats to the Broncos and especially Manning. I wonder how much Budweiser paid him tonight? Von Miller is going to get paid. He’ll at least get franchised this season; he wasn’t going anywhere even before this game.

I watched the game at Buffalo Wild Wings, Morlon Greenwood, former Dolphin was there watching. Before the game when they announced Brady during the former SB MVPs a huge round of boos went out. The dick sitting at the table next to me had on a brady jersey.

  35. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Denver was the #1 defense in the league this year

This win and the afc championship was won by a great defense
Not a qb or poor OL play

If this win goes to show you anything
It’s that great defenses can still dominate the NFL
Not that Tannehill needs an OL….I mean come on…

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

They said before the game that the top D in the league has won 9 of the 11 SBs they’ve played in.

    • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Sure, it’s beautiful to have a great defense, but it’s also nice to have to have decent O-line. It’s OK though, if you want to stay in Cam’s ass, suit yourself.

  36. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Like I mentioned before the game, Kubiak said he had a plan of how to win in all 3 phases of the game, looks like it worked.

  37. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I enjoyed this game immensely. Maybe now we can appreciate our OWN QB a little more. This is what our O-line makes almost every defense we face look like.

Oh, and BTW – Evan Mathis had a pretty decent year. Yeah, we didn’t need him. Nope, we had the right guys on our O-line.

    • olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

A GOOD NIGHT TO BE AN AFL/AFC guy, Mike. Gotta admit, I never saw this coming (a 14 point win for Denver).

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I took Denver tonight in a playoff pool I was on. We were in 2nd place before the game, we may have won with the Broncos victory

  38. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

I am sorry, but Cam Newton is a dick!! Easy to be celebrating when you win…but when you lose…that is what really shows character

    • Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

Yup. He’s really showing his lack of maturity in the post game conference. This is why people don’t like him- it’s not his skin color, where he comes from, or how he plays the game. It’s his poor character.

  39. bookman11's avatar bookman11 says:

Sorry Son…but he just showed his immaturity

  40. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Defense still wins Championships even in the modern pass friendly NFL.

We got Suh, but we need a lot more on D. Plus we need a great game planner like Wade Phillips whom nobody seemed to want.
He knew when to attack & when to drop back and confuse them in coverage!

  41. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Bookman

Why be sorry? Who gives especially a fuck? He’s not our QB. He is a dick, and tonight he was exposed in more ways than one

  42. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Not a good game for Cam. Bad game plan not to have him attack the edge so as to slow down rush but he did not handle the rush well while in the pocket. Also when he had time he missed a number of throws high

  43. olddolphan's avatar olddolphan says:

Just finished walking the Greyhound. Very nippy and windy night for Tampa Bay. Football season is now officially over! Will focus on the NHL until spring training arrives in about 25 days. Also, in March, I believe, a judge in New York will rule on whether Tom Lady must sit during the first 4 games of the upcoming regular season.

    The Old Dolfan is OUT!

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The ruling was supposed to be in November or December when the season started

But it’s gotta come down some time
So March is as good a guess as any

  44. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I don’t know, if anyone mention Ted Ginn’s play in the SB, but I thought he was as big a reason why they lost as anyone. He had the ball go through his hands for an int, then the next drive a big 3rd down drop (alligator arms) that would’ve been a first down. The dude is just pussifiied, he went out of bounds several times costing his team valuable yardage in a game where it was at a premium.

    • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

      I agree

That big catch when he was in the middle of the field could have easily been a TD

He didn’t have a great angle
But with his speed I think it was worth trying to run for the endzone instead of the sideline

  45. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I don’t think it was a big deal that can walked out on the post game
I like to see more from an athlete
    But I don’t think it’s a big deal

He’s still a very good Qb
And I won’t ever understand the high standard fans have about him

THis photo made me laugh though

  46. D's avatar D says:

Manning walked out on post Superbowl when the saints bear him. Didn’t have a comment for reporters for like a day or two

  47. D's avatar D says:

What game were you guys watching. Denver’s OL wasn’t great, not even close, their guards, yes even saying Mathis were beat by short and lotulelei were killing them most the game. Nothing passing was working for Denver and the runs didn’t exactly kill them either. The defense scored and set the offense for field goals. Carolina pretty much shut them down and held them to field goals when Denver’s defense gave their offense the ball multiple time on Carolinas side of the field.

  48. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Yay for Payton and the Donkeys!

My brother lives in Colorado and absolutely hates the Broncos so he was rooting for Carolina. I was talking to him on the phone when the second strip sack happened to Cam Newton and Cam Newton showed no effort to recover it. My brother went absolutely apeshit. “He doesn’t deserve to win that piece of shit! WTF was that!? Etc, etc.”.

  49. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

My reply was that is what you get when you have a me first player. Look how great I am look how great I am I am Superman. Well now we see what it looks like when Cam Newton faces adversity. 55.4 passer rating. Supersham

  50. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

My reply was that is what you get Aqib Talib should not have been on the post game show with all his penalties he should have crawled into a box and shut up

also when are they going to get rid of Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders I cannot stand them the absolutely suck and bring nothing to the broadcast!!

  51. Rockphin's avatar Rockphin says:

Deion Sanders: ( unintelligible) douba lubba lubba lubba lubba HA HA HA HA”
Michael Irvin ( equally unintelligible) “Aaaaahhhh hhhhaaaa ha ha ha, bubba lubba dubba lubba HA HA HA HA”
Deion Sanders: “AHHHHHH HA HA HA Man, I love you man, hubba lubba douba lubba”

Completely worthless commentary and need to be gone from the post game shows

  52. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Last nights game once again reinforces the importance of trench play. Neither OL held up in pass pro & it shows w/ the QB performance from Manning & Cam. The difference in this game was the broncos OL was able to establish the run game while the Panthers OL had struggles the entire night. This should re-in force to our team that solidifying the front lines on offense & Defense should be priority number 1 this offseason.

  53. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Ginn did not play well but he was not the reason why they lost. He was not going to score on the catch and run but should had 10 more yards. The int did hit his hands but it was a poor throw, too hard and out away from his body so as to cause him to reach back.

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I really don’t fault Ginn for the pick as I thought it was a poor pass. I do fault him for the play in the 3rd where if he turned the ball upfield and challenged the safety he may of had a TD, but instead he ran out of bounds. Reminded me of Stills this year after catching a deep pass & instead of running straight towards the endzone, safety having bad angles, he decides to randomly try cutting back into the defense😂

  54. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

The way I see it is this. Cam got all the credit for bringing his team to the SB by his supporters, and there are a few here, you know who you are. Well, in the big game itself, he didn’t get it done. He finally faced a really good defense, and as I pointed out, his schedule this year was devoid of that save for SEA, and HOU. If Tannehill played like that last night, you would be all up in his face about how he doesn’t see the rush, he has no awareness, he can’t hold on to the ball, etc etc etc.

Now it’s time to man up, and admit that Cam sucked last night, and that while playing a great defense, not only couldn’t get it done, but played very poorly, and those supposed leadership skills he has were non-existent.

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Great post Mike! 10000000% spot on👍

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Pocket presence does not exist when there’s no pocket.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Thanks D-Bolt. Too many teams we played seemed like the DEN defense, due to our lack of protection.

      • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Horrible OL play & coaching didn’t just limit Ryan, but it hindered Lamar Millers run stats. If you looked on Twitter fans said Millers stats were bad because of horrible line play & coaching, yet when it came to the QB they used Omar logic & say the opposite.

  55. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

True that D-Bolt. Even when the O-line was run blocking well, we inexplicably went away from running the ball, which was insane.

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Yep! I think one of the telling factors of the previous regime is the fact Coordinators got hired as position coaches and position coaches dropped down to assistants on the NCAA level.

  56. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    D-Bolt

Isn’t that something? It’s all Tannehill’s fault. lol

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

LOL. I know how it goes….Saw a good chunk of the tweets etc you saw & just realized some people are just so jaded and irrational that there’s no helping them. Then I reminded myself and others that there were many in the fan base at one point who wanted Dan Marino traded in favor of keeping Scott Mitchell😆

  57. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

    So what’s next?

  58. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Well like Cam has said he is a little kid out there, when he’s winning he’s all smiles and happiness and celebrating and when he loses he pouts and acts like a sore loser brat. Show some humility, professionalism and respect for the game. But I’m not surprised by his actions at all.

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

The thing with Cam is when he’s losing he can be an asshole like Tom Brady. At least with Cam when he’s winning he engages with young fans at the games which I appreciate immensely. He is who he is….a person who can let his emotions get the better of him during good times or bad. It’s not a black or white thing, it’s a Cam thing.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Agreed. He’s the one who made it a black and white thing in the first place. Did anyone talk about a black QB when Russell Wilson was in the SB two years in a row? I don’t remember it if they did. Cam acted like he was the first black QB to have his kind of success and brought it upon himself.

      • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

LOL. Was seeing plenty of “White Privledge” tweets that went out last night including from Tito Tits Grimes.

  59. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Also what was Cam doing backing away from the fumble and then jumping in late?

  60. Ken's avatar Ken says:

To put into context: I like Cam Newton. I was rooting for Carolina last night, I don’t care that he celebrates the way he does, I like watching him play the game and he to me is the undoubted and deserved MVP of the league. However, last night Cam did not play well at all. Denver’s D is excellent and that is certainly a major factor but that said Cam missed on a number of throws, held the ball way too long. He looked off all night. I am not bashing him. I am not saying that he sucks just that he did not play well last night.

  61. BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Just get the defense working and we’ll be fine. Defense wins championships.

  62. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Dbolt, White Privledge tweets? What they forgot who the SB MVP was? LOL

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Guy deleted his tweets after I went after him:

@Dbolt48: @oterosavemoney @BONDZHUSTLA Good thing that Broncos team is all white🙄

@Dbolt48: @oterosavemoney @BONDZHUSTLA That Miller is the whitest player ever & Ware’s the second whitest. The Great Albino Duo in full effect!

  63. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

A lot of great players have bad games
    And bad post games

I don’t think Newton is any less of a player last night
It’s just sports and what happens

It’s good to hear Ryan Tannehill had a good game though…lol

That Denver defense is the real story

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I don’t think anyone thinks Cam is a bad player & I think everyone is saying he was a product of his protection like all QBs. Cam will continue to be a top shelf player as his OL allows him to do so. That’s what he did in the playoffs when he was virtually untouched until last night.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Denver’s D is awesome but you have to admit that Cam missed a number of throws and plays that were there. It was not just Denver’s D, it was poor play by Cam and a very poor game plan/playcalling by shula

      • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

I think the superbowl jitters got to him in the beginning. But the Denver D also rattled him a lot. He didn’t seem comfortable all game.

    • BoulderPhinfan's avatar BoulderPhinfan says:

Wade phillips is a heck of a defensive coach. I hope Joseph learned a lot from phillips in houston.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It doesn’t hurt having Miler and Ware on the edges though. Put average OLBs in that 3-4 defense and you don’t have the same results.

      • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Let’s hope. I guess one thing to be excited about is Phillips was Kubiaks 2nd choice as DC while Vance was his 1st, but he was blocked from taking the position.

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

What I don’t understand is why the Panthers didn’t have more designed runs by Cam and or roll outs so as to try to neutralize the edge rushers of the Broncos. Make them play more contain as opposed to letting them pin their ears back and come after Cam all game long.

  64. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

How did Cincy block Vance Joseph going from DBs coach to DC in Denver? Did the rules change?

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I’m not sure and I was under that impression, but it might have been a contract stipulation. Alls I know is it said he was blocked from that job.

  65. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

    This guy is an Idiot:

  66. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Ken, the Panthers did try a few designed plays but Denver’s DEF snuffed it out. They are a swarming defense.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I don’t think I saw 1 designed run all night by Carolina. I did not see a single roll out. I did see some read option but I am not talking about that. I am talking about putting the ball in Cam’s hands and let him challenge the edge of that D and force the D line to play more contain. Even if he doesn’t gain a lot of yards in the process.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

I thought they ran a couple of those and he got no gain.

      • Ken's avatar Ken says:

I don’t think so Tim. Even a lot of the criticism this morning, especially on Mike and Mike was that there were not that many if any desinged running plays for Cam.

  67. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

    Ken,
Denvers Defense was just to disciplined for the Panthers to get outside the tackles with the exception of The TD drive.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

But they still needed Cam to challenge the outside so as to slow down the rush. It would have set up other opportunities even if they did not gain a lot of yards in the process.

  68. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

I don’t think he’s any less of a player either. I never thought he was a great QB period. I think he had a great year this year, with a soft schedule, but really, before this year, I never thought he was great. Did you??? I thought he was a big, strong QB, who was fast, and very athletically talented, but I never thought of him as a top 10 QB. Some here made him seem like he was the best QB ever. He’s really not. He’s not a great leader either. That much was exposed. He’s good when things are going well, he disappeared last night when things weren’t.

Ken, I don’t think Cam running was going to change what Denver was doing on defense. They are too difficult to block and they just keep coming. That was the #1 defense all year and they proved to be just that in the biggest games.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

By having Cam challenges the edges running with the ball or rolling out you force the DE on that side to play more contain. The DE has to make a decision to go up field and pressure or to play contain. I think it would have set up some down field opportunities for Cam and the Panthers. I don’t really get why they didn’t try that.

The Broncos kept winning on the hustle plays which showed they wanted it more.

  77. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

Cam looked like he had been having an MVP party for 2 weeks before the game!

He was sucking wind in the end of the 1st quarter!

  78. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I honestly believed last night was going to be a passing of the torch game from Manning to Cam, but what ended up happening is Ware pissed on the torch while Miller beat the shit out of Cam with it.

  79. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Another great story line was that of Evan Mathis …
Went from being let go in FA due to contract demands in Philadelphia, is told by his agent to hold out for better options, ultimately signs with Denver and now has a ring.
Guy was drafted by the Carolina Panthers and played his first 3 seasons for them.
He also got passed up by the Dolphins this past year LOL (though he was signed by Parcells/Ireland back in 2008 to replace the injured Donald Thomas but ultimately waived. He blossomed in Cincy/Philly).

Talib cleaned up by dropping a big lincoln log in Cam’s face.

Back to Miami, if he’s available in the second round I’m picking up Kevin Dodd. Quietly becoming my favorite DE in this draft.

    • D's avatar D says:

im hoping at least one of these 4 fall to the second round. Lawson, Dodd, Bullard or Nkemdiche.

      • D's avatar D says:

I really want to go CB then DE if at all possible. Kaufusi is becoming my sleeper guy, someone i think id also be pretty OK with in the second round. I started really liking him more since Senior Bowl week.

  84. D's avatar D says:

Talib should have been ejected for that face mask. Also that hit on Cam was helmet to helmet, not just a late hit, he probably gets a fine for it. It was pretty blatant.

  85. finfanrob's avatar finfanrob says:

well it is finally the off season. i guess now the dolphins can move back to the top of the nfl. this is when they play their best.

Evan Mathis wasnt good in that game for sure. I dont know how he is a great story, except to people here who wanna go coulda oulda shoulda. He was better than our OG”s thats for certain, but so was about 75% of the NFL OG’s. Evan Mathis here wouldnt have made the difference in our season, just like Denver’s offense, with him in it, was nothing special.

Talib should have been ejected for that face mask.

didnt he say while on the post set with deion and co that he did it on purpose? if so, he should get fined and suspended some.

but then again it was post game and pretty much all i understood from deion, michael irvin and talib was. bluarkg goaiual gouahl gogogoa aahelgofhr gogauol ha ha ma bruutter

I don’t think anyone on either teams O-line could say they had a great game. Everyone got handled to a degree last night. Like you just said though, Mathis was a lot better than the G’s we put out there every week, on either side.

  89. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

    D,
As a pure 4-3 DE, I like Dodd the most out of that list. I like Koufy along w/ Nassib because for tall guys they get into the chest of OL and control them pretty damn well.

    • Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Dodd is one of those guys that produces more than his athleticism shows he can produce. He’s intriguing to me and does the little things against OL that wins the line battle (not to mention he has the size to compete against NFL OL).

      • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

He can bend the edge, rush the inside, lockout blockers, non stop motor, can string multiple rush moves together, but most importantly is his hand usage. He knocks blockers hands down quickly opposed to just running into the blocker like a majority of DEs. His ability to disengage from blockers is awesome.

  90. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    D,
Talib is dirty but I’ve seen far worse in a game from a defensive player without any kind of ejection.
Ejection in the NFL is usually only for fighting.

  91. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    D,
I’m not talking about Mathis being great or anything, I’m just talking about his personal career and how he started in Carolina and now wins the SB with Denver, a team he didn’t really plan on playing for this year but ended up doing so because of OL injuries/depth issues there.

2 late round prospects that should be decent 4-3 DE’s in the NFL!

  94. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Dbolt,
Agree with what you see in Dodd. It’s the arm/hand stuff that really makes a difference and puts OL off balance and unable to set themselves up to direct the block (they end up being defensive in their attempt to stop a DL who’s already dictated the rush direction).

  95. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

    Wyo,
I was looking at Vance Joseph’s bio a little bit ago and didn’t realize he was a DB coach for the WYOMING COWBOYS back in 2002; his first coaching position of his career (was a Grad Assistant from 1999-2001 at his Alma Matter, U of Colorado).

  96. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

Btw, it’s been less than 24 hours since the conclusion of the SB and I’ve already run into many butt hurt Panthers fans lol.

  97. Al in MIA's avatar Al in MIA says:

The thing that excites me about Vance Joseph is that in addition to spending a significant amount of time with Wade Phillips, he also spent the same amount of time if not more with Mike Nolan.

Al, Kubiak and Phillips were the ones who told Vance Joseph he was ready to be a DC in 2013 back in Houston. That’s why Kubiak tried to hire him last year in Denver.
