It has come to my attention that the Dolphins may not have a draft entirely compromised of linebackers.
In fact, maybe they use free agency to address linebacker.
Well, that thought hurts me deep in my pulsarspheres…but it’s a fact I have to accept.
So in my sadness I turned to an Earth Movie to wash away my troubles – Tombstone
A great movie about Wyatt Earp and his companions taking on the Cowboy known as –
Emmanuel Ogbah!
Wyatt Earp came to the town of Tombstone and became the lawman of Tombstone.
But little did Earp know that a Cowboy from Nigeria would also come to town.
Earp thought the best way to preserve law and order was a high octane passing game.
Ogbah had different ideas as to what was right for Tombstone.
The 6’4, 274 pound Cowboy tallied 10 sacks in 2014 and 12.5 in 2015.
He was pass rushing beast at Oklahoma State ruining Earp’s plan to rule the West with that ariel attack.
And when Ogbah gets to the quarterback, well he doesn’t exactly tickle the passer.
It helps that Ogbah is a fast big man. He ran a 4.63 in the 40 yard dash!
I’ve seen Ogbah compared to NFL pass rushers like Charles Johnson, Datone Jones and Vinnie Curry.
Some scouts think he might be a better run stopper than a pass rusher because he is not known for his explosiveness.
But I say to quarterbacks “Tell them Ogbah’s coming, and hell is coming with him!”
Im my version of Tombstone, the Cowboy buries all the lawmen.
Okay, I took a few liberties with this version of Tombstone. But I think you know where I am going with this.
If Ogbah was an Alien Weapon of Destruction. Well in this case its more of a memorial….

You’re probably correct here. I’m still ok with it. Miller is too valuable in my eyes to let walk over a couple of Mil one way or the other.

One interview every 15 minutes from early morning until late at night every night of combine…… do the math lol.

I think Bennett is a pretty awesome TE, full package, he is a good receiving threat and he is a beast in the blocking department. Probably the best overall TE in the league. I can only assume ya mean as a receiving threat because there are better receiving TE’s but put the two on the field at the same time, especially int he red zone and you have a wide open playbook chock full of opportunities.
We apparently are met with Noah Spence at his pro day, as im sure a lot of teams did. Vivii Teofilo repped out 43 of 225 today n his BP, was reported that his first 35 seemed effortless and he gritted out the final 8. Appaently a lot of people got sick at the combine, some tired to gut it out and others didnt, a few people times/scores might have been off as a result.

I agree, I think he can be that good. He started finding daylight 2nd have of 2014 and you could see it coming then he breaks that 97 yard TD last game against the Jets and continues with a few more in 2015.
He’s been a 15.5 touch guy his last two years. I’m increasing that by 5 minimum. That’s 80 more plays and there will be some more big plays in there.
Which opens up the passing , which then makes the running game even more effective. Got to run first, then all else falls nicely into a great flow for play calling on offense.
If we get the OL settled we can be very explosive on offense with Tannehill, Miller, Landry, Parker, Stills and Cameron. We have lots of different skill sets. Speed, quickness, size, hands, arm strength. We have all of it.

They are not expensive since you only have a scanner in this case no scanner, then a printer which you would have anyway, and the only difference would be the touchscreen customized for consumers instead of its employees.
I worked for NCR after college and they have been a major manufacturer for POS systems in the retail market. Use to be based out of Ohio but moved to Atlanta because of tax credits. Self serve hasn’t been accepted as hoped. Another problem is consumers bypassing the scanner to get items for free. RFID was implemented but stealing customers buried items under large dirt bags,mulch, and items that don’t transmit (block)radio waves (aluminum foil).
They are all over the place

Exactly why I kept saying his production that year was a red herring. This kid is not a double digit sacker unless he works against guards. He cannot beat LTs consistently. Still don’t know why we didn’t keep using him inside, coming through the A gaps after 2013. He’s simply not worth keeping at the kind of money he wants…not even close. I can’t believe they’re even considering it.
Let’s see what other teams offer him.

I think there’s a big difference between playing 3rd down in college and the pros. It’s not about rushing the passer so much as covering the middle zone and getting sideline to sideline. I’m not sure he has the quickness or speed to do that in the NFL. I love how he plays, but I think I’d look for a more impactful player at #8. I’m just not sure Ragland will be changing games and making big plays…solid, yes…but I want more than that with a top 10 pick.

Lawson and Spence. Some feel Dodd is going to be better in time, has only played football a few years and has more of that prototype 4-3 DE size at 6-5 275 where Lawson 6-3 270 and Spence 6-2 250 are in that hybrid DE/OLB size.

I have mixed emotions about going after Williams. I like Williams as a player and I think he can be a high quality DE. Better than OV; But I don’t like the idea of going after high priced FAs. This team has done that over the last several years and it has gotten us no where. We need to sign role players in FA not the big name guys. Build thru the draft and sign the role players in FA to round out the roster. I am so tired of us winning in FA and not on the field and if we sign Mario Williams it will kind of have that same feel that we have had over the last several years.
I doubt it would be a long term deal for Mario. 2 years maybe $15M.
I would be on board with something like that but I think Mario is looking for a pretty big deal. He won’t command what he did last time but he knows he will command even less next year. I think he is probably looking for a pretty hefty 3 year deal because after that his market value goes down.

I do agree with not liking to go after high priced FAs. Do you think $6-7M a year is too pricey for Williams? I guess I’d be okay with that on, say, a 2 year contract.

what is the highest a team could get for a comp pick? I think I have seen 3rd round before. A third rounder for someone we drafted in a later round would be a net gain if we could sign Mario. He probably wouldbe highly motivated playing against Bills twice a year.

I’m not sure you want “safe” at #8. Frankly, anybody chosen in the top 10 should be a safe pick. I know that isn’t always the case, but it usually is. I think you look for game changers. Guys who get INTs or sacks for you on defense.

I just saw the Beasley tweet about not having to break the bank to sign Williams. If Beasley is correct about that I am on board.

It is kind of a mystery how the comp picks work, but if you let a starter go, and pick up another one at approximately the same price, and they have similar production numbers, they pretty much cancel each other out.
It’s not a mystery how the comp picks work. If you are the Patriots the league awards you a high draft choice every year. Everyone else – meh you get what you get and dissent will not be tolerated.
