The Wedge Scouting Report: Mackensie Alexander, CB

Wedge here for Toots SuperGlue!

Ever had one of those days?

Nothing can withstand the gravitational forces you pass through.

Everything comes to pieces!

Well that’s when you need your Toots SuperGlue!

TOOTSGLUEAD

TOOTS is the Glue you can rely on like superstar cornerback Mackensie Alexander.

Just apply a little bit of Toots Superglue to you broken Photon Belt or your best Wide Receiver and like Magic you are back in space again or pitching a shutout on the football field.

Toots and Alexander are airtight and won’t let anything come between them and the receiver, including bombs!

MackensieAlexander5

Alexander was one of the most highly ranked high school prospects coming out of high school.  He was talented then, he is talented now.

Toots won Space Ship Saver of the year last millennium.  And it still saves Space Ships!

Some think Alexander will be the first cornerback taken in the draft!  Some also think Toots will glue a moon to a planet!

Before the combine Alexander declared to the NFL “I am the best cornerback in the draft”…cocky, you bet!  True….maybe!

Cornerbacks need to be confident, and Mackensie certainly is.

And I am confident Toots will permanently glue anything it touches!

NCAA FOOTBALL: SEP 12 Appalachian State at Clemson

Guess how many interceptions Alexander had at Clemson…

The answer is ZERO.  Guess why?

Yep, you guessed it, no one dared to throw the ball near him.

Like Toots Superglue which never breaks down.  Toots is permanent and not safe for your kids to play with.

Alexander is true shutdown defensive back.  And Toots will kill your pets if they eat it!

MackensieAlexander4

Alexander is yet another prospect with Florida roots, hailing from Immokalee Florida.

I don’t know where that is but its probably full of football fields.

Toots, on the other hands, is harnessed out of the semen of dead lifeforms!

At the combine Alexander didn’t run the 40 but or really any drills at all except the bench where he benched 225 pounds 11 times.

At the Saturn New Products Fair, Toots glued an alien’s tentacles to his own pancreas 11 times!

FBC: Russell Atheletic Bowl: Clemson vs. Oklahoma

Let’s face it, if you are an NFL Team you need a Mackenzie Alexander on your roster.

And if you are an intergalactic agent, you need Toots SuperGlue in your spaceship!

Get your Toots SuperGlue now…look for the sexy alien on the label.

StickTootsGlue

Oh…and one more thing now you can get new MAX Toots SuperGlue.

Speaking of which…if Mackensie Alexander was an Alien Weapon of Destruction, he would be a bottle of MAX Toots SuperGlue!

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have “inquired” about free agent WR Andre Holmes.
    He’s 27 6’4 210 with 4 TD’s the past 2 seasons & a nice 14.6 avg per catch.

Son, any intel on CB Josh Robinson MIN who was from UCF? He’s visiting with us.

  4. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

I’m getting the sense that a lot of fans are happier about what the Dolphins are doing then they initially were

With the Williams signing and the trade it looked like the Dolphins were Best Buy shoppers on Black Friday

And Willaims probably upset some people bc he is a big name and he is rumored to have quit on his team last season

    But I love that player

After a couple of days you can see they are spending wisely though

People will be upset about loosing Miller, OV, Matthews and Shelby
But the only one that really bothers me in that bunch is Miller
And I understand the logic to not wanting to pay a RB too much

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Let’s hope CJ Anderson sticks. That will certainly soften the blow of losing Millertime.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

        Yeah
        But I’m looking at RBs
Maybe in the 3rd round even

        Jordan Howard
        Alex Collins
        Devontae Booker

Wedge might have to start featuring some RBs

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Agreed. I’ve already moved on from those players, they’re not Dolphins anymore so I wish them well but they can also fuck off! LOL

  5. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

Now that we have a lot of cap room

    Where do we spend it?
Can we give some of that room back to Suh (restructuring again) and help avoid a higher cap hit in 2017 or 2018?

  6. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

The patriots are going to sign Chris Hogan (7-11)

    That was predictable….

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

  7. son of a son of a shula's avatar son of a son of a shula says:

Josh Robinson is fast as GD said. He was a hell of a punt returner at UCF too. He also had a great bowl game going up against AJ Green and Georgia and got the best of him and UCF won (2012 Liberty bowl).
I’m not too familiar with how he’s done in the league but getting FA attention means he must be doing something right. Probably a depth player moreso than a starter.

  12. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

The Jaguars have discussed moving SS Johnathan Cyprien to linebacker.
With the addition of FS Tashaun Gipson to shore up the back end of the defense, the Jaguars are playing around with the idea of getting Cyprien even closer to the line of scrimmage. Even when he entered the NFL, Cyprien was viewed as a box safety because of his severe deficiencies in coverage. Teams saw what the Rams did with Mark Barron, turning him from safety into a weak-side linebacker, and Barron just cashed in with a five-year, $45 million deal on Wednesday.
    _________________________
Welcome to defenses trying to adjust to today’s pass heavy NFL.
Maybe this is where a guy like Gary Shamiel can earn his way into some defensive snaps. He’s our 2nd year safety 6′ 217.

Glad you’re on. Gotta ask you . . . Do you feel like the Midkemia series is a bit geared towards kids? I’m enjoying it, but I feel it’s not nearly as mature as GOT

  15. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Pretty much agree with Piggy’s 10:44 a.m. post. I initially did not like the trade but overall signings have not been bad and pretty conservative in general. I think our biggest mistake was letting Miller go and going after C.J. Anderson in his place for not much difference in money. That is a significant downgrade in talent imo. I like the Williams signing, the Bushrod signing and the Abdul signing.

  16. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

I got ya pig…no 🐒💩, but a dolphin butt fucking or getting butt fucked by a 🏈 is good👍 The search is on!

I’m really interested in whether Kiko can have a positive impact on D. Jordan and actually help him become a productive player for us. If so that’s like getting 3 players for those 5 spots.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

It would be wild if Jordan got his shit together and helped us at DE. We could use him. I’m not going to rely on him, but it would be cool.

  18. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Son

The way I see it with DJFF, if Philbin couldn’t reach him, no one can. lol

  19. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Ken, downgrade? CJ Anderson is a very big part of why Jughead rides off into the sunset with a 2nd Ring to match his Goober brother.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

….and you say it’s not much difference in money???
We offered Anderson more than $2M less per year.

    • Ken's avatar Ken says:

Serious downgrade in talent imo. Miller is head and shoulders a superior back to Anderson. Miller is more explosive, he really developed as a receiver and Miller was also very good in pass protection. Anderson was the defacto starter for Broncos last year and essentially lost the job and became a rotational player. Once he did that his productivity increased. But first half of the season he did nothing last year.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

He had conditioning issues. I agree he’s not as explosive as Miller but his production is very similar because neither back has ever had a heavy workload.

      • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

He started slow off with an injury. He’s only played significant snaps for 2 yrs in the NFL. He’s still ascending as well.

  20. Ken's avatar Ken says:

Going to play some hoops. BBL. Peace.

  21. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Counting on Dion FF is like Browns fans hoping Josh Gordon gets his crap together, wish in one hand and…….

  22. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Miller didn’t accept our offer and left.

  23. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

I remember banging the drum for this guy a year ago, then MF13 got behind it too. If he stays sober, he can be a very good MLB.
    ____________________________

The San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur reports the Raiders are interested in free agent ILB Erin Henderson.
The Jets also want to re-sign Henderson. Henderson was out of the league in 2014 but rejuvenated his career with the Jets this past year, grading out as PFF’s No. 14 inside linebacker despite playing just 232 snaps. He was top-nine against the run after displacing Demario Davis in sub-packages the final month-plus of the season. He’d likely play the MIKE spot in Oakland.

  24. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I think it’s possible Dion FF could turn it around. Some players finally see the light, and get their shit together. I wouldn’t bet on it, but he could be very good for us if he does.

  25. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

So I guess during a radio interview Tannenbaum said the current plan for our LB core as it stands is Jenkins & Misi starting OLBs and Alonso is our MLB.

  26. dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

@FinsInsider: Tannenbaum said the process is just beginning – there will be a lot more trades, a lot more cuts and a lot more things happening.

I can think of a few difference makers to insert into that LB unit

  29. The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

    Tim

    Lee is a Sophmore
    but yeah He’s need polishing

    but he attacks!
    Sometimes a little wrecklessly
but we can use a LB who attack the LOS

  30. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

LOL @ Piggy on Misi getting injured in week one.

In all seriousness I do think we will draft a LB by day two and maybe one late and a couple as UDFAs. Then let them all compete and it will work itself out.

  31. sb7mvp's avatar sb7mvp says:

Bring on the LBs in 2016. The more the merrier. Hopefully Joseph can get this unit playing up to potential and Alonso can return to form. We’d have a pretty solid defense up the middle with Suh, Alonso, and Jones.

  32. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

I’m very hesitant to rely on Alonso, I hope we draft a MLB, and then have the flexibility to move people around.

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Why, because he had that one knee injury? The one this year was a sprain and not serious. The guy is an excellent LB.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

It still compromises his knee, even if he didn’t have a second surgery, a partial tear is still a tear. It’s weakened, and it can tear all the way, more easily than a healthy ligament.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Mike, it’s not still a partial tear. It’s healed, he’s played on it several games since.

  33. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

    Browns waived QB Johnny Manziel.
Predictably, the Browns couldn’t find anyone to give them anything for their off-field embarrassment. Manziel will now pass through waivers and likely go unclaimed. He’ll probably have to sit on his hands until his off-field matters get resolved, as Manziel has an ongoing domestic case in Texas. To this point in his career, Manziel has been more worried about getting hammered drunk than being good at football. He allegedly showed up drunk to the facility back in Week 16.

  34. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

    Piggy

Really – Relying on Alonso and Misi to make it through an entire season is comical. Keep drafting LB’s!!!

    • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Alonso has only been in the league 3 years. People act like he’s been in the league 7 years and misses 6 games every year. He’s our MLB.

      • Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Not really a good argument Tim. At least if he was in the league 6 years, and played 3 full years, you’d have that. He’s missed 21 out of 38 games. That’s a bunch. He’s missed more than he’s played.

      • The Flying Pig's avatar The Flying Pig says:

we just need to draft LBs

I’m not pooping on the moves

        but we need young LBs
you are giving these guys too much credit for being able to make it through the season

in the end, these sort of things have hurt us in the past

maybe we draft guys that don’t play in 2016
        but so be it

we can take the BPA when we pick
        or even trade down
we can afford to develop talent bc we have guys with experience

but we can’t get caught with our pants down if they repeat what has happened last few years

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Mike, of course they’ll draft a LB or two. But first you set the table before you start dishing food onto a plate.

  35. Mike E.'s avatar Mike E. says:

Tim – Gotta run – I’ll check your response later.

  36. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Mike, when you blow your knee training in the offseason you’re going to miss 16 games. So saying what you’re saying is misleading. He’s played in 27 games and missed 21 so that’s not missing more than he’s played. LOL

Von Miller blew his knee a few years ago and missed the season, how’s he doing?

  37. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

No matter who you draft or sign in FA. They can get hurt, even if they never have before. It’s called a contact sport for a reason. That’s football.

  38. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

  39. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

The only injuries you need to worry about are chronic ones that cannot heal. Alonso spraining the knee he had surgery on isn’t uncommon. He missed 5 weeks the first year off of the injury but finished strong. Not sure why we should worry about him. The same with Albert who played 14 games last year. They both should be good to go with no issues.

    Browns waived QB Johnny Manziel.
Predictably, the Browns couldn’t find anyone to give them anything for their off-field embarrassment.

they should have contacted the fins. everyone knows they are push overs when it comes to negotiations. hell they probably could have gotten four or five draft picks from the fins

  41. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Piggy, I don’t think you have to worry about not adding more LBs. But you should also be excited that we found at worse some really solid depth and STs guys as UDFAs last year. Alonso is tackling machine at MLB who has great instincts. We should draft at least one LB to push both Misi and Jenkins. Who knows we may sign a LB in FA. He won’t be a top guy but more competition.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Like I said the other day. I look at Alonso & Maxwell as extra draft picks we got & we doubled down. We ARE going to draft another LB & CB. We don’t need WR’s, DT’s, TE’s, RB’s, or QB’s early this draft.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

        Agreed.

Another thing about Alonso is that he didn’t injure his knee playing football. it was doing a drill in the offseason. So it’s not like he gets banged up all the time playing the game.

  42. Wyoming85's avatar wyoming85 says:

  43. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Patriots signed DL Frank Kearse, formerly of the Redskins.
He announced the signing on his Instagram page. Kearse logged just 76 snaps last year and probably won’t have much of a role if he makes the team.

  51. D's avatar D says:

Ken, Piggy in particular as moderators of this sit and men of the law may i present a case for formal ruling in the matters of inappropriate posting.

First as a formal declaration of my guilt with regard to events that occurred on the 10th of March, 2016, i did participate in a set of juvenile antics that were deemed by at least one of the ruling members to be “out of line”. I fully admit to having posted at approximately 4:36 pm EST as somewhat graphic youtube clip of a Gorilla eating his own excrement and then sharing it with another, smaller Gorilla. I also admit prior to post it, i knew this was not subject the blog was specifically created to contain, i understood the graphic nature of it having been tricked into viewing it previously, and i recognized the level of immaturity i was exposing having posted that link. I do apologize for such action but i would like to bring argument against the general reprimand that ensured and call for a more formal declaration of the rules regarding said postings.

Part 1: Precidence, and lack thereof.

It is true that previous action did exist that have brought previous rulings regarding content of sexual or exploitative nature. I will therefore submit that the post of a Gorilla eating his own excrement does not indeed qualify as either, unless by suggestion of your own, there are people attending this site that could qualify either as such. This of course would not be relevant to this case, as no proof for such an individual exiting among this blogs users has ever been made aware, and its only been somewhat suggest/proven that FFR qualifies. Therefore, my actions, under the general precedence set, was not in violation.

    Part 2: Disclaimer

While many times there is a general lack of disclaimer for such posts and many times users are caught off guard by the content contained in posting, with regards to my posting, this does not apply. I refer therefore to the original posting where strategically placed above the YouTube video was, and i quote: “Monkey see….monkey eat do do”. This should qualify as not only a warning, but an exact description of what a user might find if they decide to venture forward with watching this video. I accept no responsibility therefore for anyone who did so venture, and become offended by the contents within. I submit therefore there is legal precedence that the disclaimer provided was sufficient to avoid any punishment.

    Part 3: Temporary insanity.
I will also plead temporary insanity with regards to the events that led me to post that link. I submit as evidence this:

Notice the evidence that if you are hungry and have not eaten a snickers, crazy things happen. On the day in question, i was indeed hungry, having missed lunch and it was 3:36pm CST. I also had not had a snickers bar. Citing the link above, and the repeated examples that snickers provides, i say this is proof that i was indeed temporarily “not myself” and therefore i was not in control of my actions.

I would like to close with a petition that rules regarding the posting of inappropriate material be made aware to all users of this blog, defining not only what constitutes inappropriate (since most of us seem to not have that line) and what form of posting is acceptable. YouTube videos for example have to initiated to play then, where as an animated gif and some of the types of links are not. Will a simple disclaimer in that situation be adequate or should the post of such links be forbidden as a whole. Finally a ruling as to what type of woman is appropriate to post should be determined as it seem to carry a lot more offense posting a woman who looks like this:

    versus one like this:

keeping in mind discrimination based upon beauty is indeed frowned upon.

Thank you to the governing body for continued dedication to preservation of content and quality of this blog, and to the jury of my peers for their contributions of their own that hopefully make my arguments hold.

Patriots signed WR Chris Hogan to a three-year, $12 million contract.
The Bills declined their right of first refusal on the 27-year-old slot receiver. Since Hogan is a former undrafted free agent tendered at the original-round level, the Bills receive no compensation for his departure.

Miko is a piece of trash. I lost respect for Grimes a while back when he was asked about her actions and he said something to the effect of “It doesn’t have anything to do with me”. Ummmm, yeah it does Brent. She’s your wife and what she does is a reflection on you.

    • getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Will be great to finally see the young guys start to step up.
He was great while here. Thanks Brent for your service, but the circus will now open in Tampa.
      Good Luck to ya!

    • dbolt48's avatar dbolt48 says:

Yeah that shit-tard threw anyone under the bus when Brent sucked this year. The London game it was Ross’s fault because the game was in London all the other games it was the safeties fault or it wasn’t Brent’s guy in coverage even though he was on him the entire play until he got beat. By the the end of the year you could tell Reshad Jones was fed up with it by his subtle tweets at the end of the year.

Buccaneers signed former Giant Robert Ayers: 3-years, 19.5 million, could get to 21 million, per source. Pass rusher for Bucs.

Now that we have a lot of cap room

    Where do we spend it?
Can we give some of that room back to Suh (restructuring again) and help avoid a higher cap hit in 2017 or 2018?
    ——————————————–
It always amazes me when I see a post like this. What do people not understand about rollover money? Do they not know it exists?

  73. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

I see Hogie signed with the cheats. The Bills didn’t resign him, because he drops too many passes.

  74. getterdone's avatar getterdone says:

Jaguars signed CB Prince Amukamara, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year contract.
The 27-year-old (in June) 2011 first-rounder will slide in opposite Davon House. It’s surprising Amukamara had to settle for a one-year deal, but he has a lengthy injury history, and hasn’t always quite lived up to his first-round pedigree.

Meh, they can have him. When is healthy enough to be on the field he got ROASTED by Landry. Giants D was worse than our by far last season.

I see Stinky is going to play savior this yr.

  78. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

Not sure what Philly was doing last yr with Alonso and Maxwell, but that’s what you get on D with a college offensive coach as your head coach. Whenever a player is rumored to be going to the Cheats all we here is how great they’re going to be in that system, that’s because Billicheat gets it. He knows how to use players in his system. It seems the teams that pay all the money to get FAs don’t understand this simple principal. Take Ireland, all he did was signed guys, didn’t care what it cost or if they fit.

Rexie wow, WTF was he thinking last yr putting Mario at LB?

  79. steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

    Maxwell’s contract was slightly redone:
Maxwell, who was set to receive $18.5 million in base salary over the next two seasons ($11.5 million guaranteed), will now earn just $17 million in salary, but $13.5 million guaranteed, according to sources.

His base salary will be $8.5 for each of the next two seasons, instead of $8.5 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2017.

Alonso’s contract was also redone, I believe for 2 yrs $5M.

I really like the CJ and Bushrod signings, because we know they fit in Gase’s system, and Williams excels in a 4-3. Tanny must have a woody after finally getting what might look like a real Oline.

Wasn’t Bushrod released by the Bears because he failed his physical?

  83. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

    Steve,
Everyone gets the rollover money- it’s not really that complicated. Do YOU understand that if we spend it all that we have no money to rollover?

  84. Brian in NY's avatar Brian in NY says:

For the record, I think 7-11 is going to be very effective in NE’s offense. 50-60 receptions.

  87. Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

As for Jordan being traded to SF anything is possible but Chip Kelly doesn’t have final say on personnel in SF. So GM Trent Baalke would have to be on board.

But if it did go down I wonder if it would be another trade for a player?

    • steveccnv's avatar steveccnv says:

      What an idiot:
The Dolphins are banking on a third-, fourth- and seventh-round pick being awarded to them next year. Why?

Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive

The compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through sixth rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.

      • Tim Knight's avatar Tim Knight says:

Well it’s probably projected on our loss/gain in FA this year will be a heavy loss difference. We lost OV, Miller, Shelby and Matthews to pretty big money. Our only gains would be Abdul-Quddus, Young, Bushrod and Anderson at the moment. Maxwell, Alonso and Williams don’t count because they weren’t UFAs.

      • jetsssuck's avatar jetsssuck says:

we will be well positioned nect yr to win the off season championship
