Last year was a disappointing year for our offense. We only managed to score 19.4 points per game, and averaged only 331.7 yards per game. Both of those are too low to be anywhere near playoff contention. So let’s take a look at what we’ve done to improve our offense this season.
On February 8th, we made our first and wisest move of the offseason, terminating the contract of OT Jason Fox. On March 7th, we terminated the contract of veteran WR Greg Jennings. March 11th, we made our first effort to shore up the offensive line, signing OL Jermon Bushrod, along with OL Sam Young. Bushrod is a quality veteran OT, who played for HC Adam Gase with the Bears last year, while Sam Young was a swing tackle for the Jaguars. Both moves to improve the depth at OT, and in Bushrod’s case, maybe add in another challenger at the OG position. On March 16th, we re-signed backup QB Matt Moore.
We then signed WR Griff Whalen, formerly with the Colts, and the next day, signed OG Kraig Urbik, who started a lot of games early in his career for the Buffalo Bills, but in the last 2 years, has been a depth player, but still saw action in every game, but only starting 13 out 32 games. On 3/29, we signed TE Jake Stoneburner, and 2 days later, signed OT Ulrick John, formerly of the Colts. On April Fools Day, no kidding, we signed RB Daniel Thomas (now truly DT3, as this is his 3rd time with the team), RB Isaiah Pead, and also signed TE MarQueis Gray, formerly of the Browns, Vikes and Bills. Our last move for the offense was signing ERFA WR Matt Hazel.
It was pretty clear, this organization was not happy with our offense, and made plenty of moves to ensure the OL shortcomings of years past would not occur on their watch. Even before the draft, you have to admit we truly improved the depth on the offensive line, and would not leave our 2 tackles spots undermanned. Then came the draft . . .
Not since the dramatic fall of QB Dan Marino in the 1983 draft have the Dolphins received such a gift with a first RD pick. OT Laremy Tunsil was almost unanimously rated as the best player in the draft, although some had CB/S Jalen Ramsey rated equally or higher. Regardless, when you’re making your selection at #13 in the first round, you’re not expecting in the least to have the best prospect waiting for you to select them, but due to a social media snafu, Laremy Tunsil is ours. This was huge, not only for this season, but possibly the next decade or more. Make no mistake, despite hearing nonsensical assassinations of this kids personality, along with rumors of pre arthritic ankles, we got the best OL in this draft, hands down!

It didn’t end there though, the Dolphins were determined to improve this offensive unit, and in the 3rd RD, we selected Alabama RB Kenyan Drake. Not the workhorse of that Alabama team, that was Derrick Henry, but Drake is a very talented RB who is a shifty runner, and a good receiver out of the backfield, who also brings us special teams value, as he was the gunner on kickoffs. We then traded back into the 3rd RD, and in order to get back into the 3rd RD, we traded away TWO 2017 picks, a 3rd RD and 4th RD. The 3rd RD pick will be our normal 3rd RD pick, but the 4th is conditional, so if we are granted a 4th RD compensatory pick, that will be the pick that we give away. Either way, a steep price to pay, but I LOVE the player we got with that selection. With pick #86, the Dolphins selected Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo. Carroo is physical receiver, who compares himself to Anquan Boldin (but faster!). He has strong hands, and he scores TD’s, and was a big play machine for Rutgers. As excited as I am about getting Laremy Tunsil, I’m excited to see what Carroo can do for you, despite the fact that we have no picks next year. (j/k)

OK, so we probably went defense with the rest of our picks, right? NO! Gase was not in a daze, and his mandate to fix this offense was ringing clear in the Miami war room, as our next selection in RD 6, was diminutive WR Jakeem Grant, from Zach Thomas’ Texas Tech. Grant really is a small NFL player at 5’6″ 165, but this kid is ELECTRIC! Grant has reportedly, though not officially, run a sub 4.2 40 yard dash. The fact that he’s so low to the ground allows him to make unbelievable stops and cuts, his highlight reel is something to see.

So that’s it for the offense. NO! No it isn’t! We did draft a defensive player in the 6th RD, but never mind, we’re all about that Gase, bout that Gase, no defense . . . With our first of two 7th RD picks, we nabbed Western Kentucky QB Brandon Doughty. This kid lit it up last season, and no, not with a gas mask, on the field! Doughty completed 72% of his passes, with a high 9.4 YPA, over 5000 yards, 5,055 to be exact, along with 48 TD’s and only 7 INT’s. That’s a fabulous season in any conference, although we all understand that Conference USA is not the SEC. He has been compared to Chad Pennington, so hopefully the kid can stay healthy, unlike the great Chad Pennington. At worst, we’ve drafted Matt Moore’s replacement as Tannehill’s backup, and if the kid shows he’s an NFL caliber starter, it’s a great problem to have having 2 quality NFL QB’s.

With our final pick, our last but not least, we took UCLA TE Thomas Duarte. Another exciting addition to the Dolphins offense. I’m ready to personally guarantee that this kid not only makes the 53, but that he makes a little impact. He’s essentially a large, slightly bulked up WR who will be difficult for a LB or safety to cover. I expect he will be used as a 2nd TE or even in the slot. Duarte has reliable hands, and that alone should have him making the roster.

Overall, it was a pretty impressive haul for the offense, both in FA, and the Draft. We were very careful not to allow the O-line to be our undoing this season, as opposed to seasons past. We found many different types of weapons for our QB Ryan Tannehill, from the fast, shifty RB Kenyan Drake, to the alpha receiver Leonte Carroooooooo, to the electrifying Jakeem Grant and the sure handed TE Thomas Duarte. We’ve come a long way Dolphins fans, and of course, we need to reap the fruit of the moves we made, but I have to admit, I’m very much looking forward to see what we can be this season. I’m a little unsure if we did enough on the defensive side, but I do think the offense playing at a high level takes a lot of pressure off the defense, and now, with a veteran defense with some youth sprinkled in, maybe we’ll have a stronger backbone and resolve to not break like we did last season. All I know is, the season can’t start fast enough for me, I WANT SOME FOOTBALL NOW!!!!
I expect us to run the ball more than we have the last few seasons, and really, the run will game will be a full time participant in our offense, not just a first act. I don’t think we’ll be running the ball 40 times a game, but if it can be done to close out a game with a win, maybe it happens now and again. I know Tannehill has his doubters, but I think with adequate protection, which I expect him to get this season, we’ll see some real positive strides from our still young QB. With better protection, Ajayi and Drake running the football, Parker, Landry, Carroo, Stills, Cameron, and yes, even Duarte, I think there will be plenty of targets, and lots of success this season from this offense.
Here’s to the 2016 Adam Gase led Dolphins turning this franchise around, having a successful season, and more of those to come.
GO MIAMI DOLPHINS!

Not ever because we have 5 trying to block 8 and they stay in the same stupid fucking play anyway, they just suck…
Talent and basically that. LOL
Son
That’s definitely fair that the scheme sucked, and the play calling sucked, but maybe the OG’s sucked too. Urbik hasn’t started in 2 years in BUF, and neither Turner or Thomas has really showed they’re capable starters either. I like Douglas, I do think he has potential, but I’m not sure about him yet.
Injuries were a major factor with the OL over the last 2 years which was compounded with very poor depth. If our starters are healthy there is good talent on OL. However we have not our top 5 on OL for the better part of 2 seasons
That’s been a big factor as well of course but I think we finally got a lot deeper at Tackle and that should pay dividends.
I agree
Stanger still on here? Forgot to get my 2 tix order in….maybe I can ride down with SOS 😉
Is it now considered newsworthy and cause for concern when Manziel doesn’t show up for a party?
Herd,
Maybe for TMZ, but it SHOULDN’T be for a sports outlet..IMHO….he is not even on a team of any kind right now.
Who cares about Manziel anymore
Never been a more lost cause

Another case where a reporter takes the stats that back his opinion and conveniently ignores the ones that don’t. This article means nothing. If he wanted to write a real meaningful article on this subject he’d have to interview someone from our FO, but since they don’t have “contact” with Dion…

Jelani Jenkins is doing a rehab assignment. It appeared he hurt himself last week when we we’re watching practice.

Jay Ajayi’s hands are a little concerning. I know he caught passes at Boise State, but this ain’t Boise folks.

So far Kenyan Drake and Isaiah Pead appear to be the best pass catching backs on the Dolphins roster.

A great catch end zone by Jarvis Landry is surpassed by a better one by Griff Whalen.

Dion Sims with a nice, powerful TD catch from Logan Thomas, who needled it in.
he needledicked it in
LOL Tim would love this.

Michael Thomas with a sack on Tannehill, who was in shotgun at 5 yard line (hate it).
LOL, well at least it’s only practice. 😉
What’s up with our special teams?
They should be really good this year with Grant, Drake on returns and some new cover aces.

Gase on Neville Hewitt: “The speed is something we’ve been impressed with. The skill set is there.” #Dolphins
I’d think there’s been some hope that one of our 2015 UDFA LBs would challenge for a starting spot. Not drafting an LB kind of indicates that.
Go Hewitt!!! 🙂

Ryan Tannehill with a back of the end zone bullet to Kenny Stills for a TD. Stills has been balling all offseason IMO.

Byron Maxwell moved inside to defend Jarvis Landry and got roasted on a double move. Jarvis is getting very good.
We don’t need a 6’1″ guy playing the slot, it should be a mismatch.
They move guys around to see what they can do. I doubt he plays there much or at all during the season unless they like a matchup. I could see our bigger corners covering TEs in sub-packages at times as well.

Dolphins OL Laremy Tunsil (pictured) isn’t having a strong practice today. He got beat on back-to-back plays in team drills by DE Chris McCain and DE Farrington Huguenin. The first-round pick will have a learning curve.
Kind of hard to run block without pads. He’s still learning, like trying to show style before learning dance moves.

He’s saying he’s going to have to work his ass off to make the team,
Way too early to get too high or low about players in OTAs but I guess it’s all we have right now. LOL
Tannehill has no pocket presence and doesn’t see wide open guys down the field when he dumps it off.
We need to draft a QB next year.
Well that goes without saying. LOL
I kind of like Griff Whalen as our #1 Receiver
Hmmm… LOL
You’re killing me 😛
Billy Goat Griff
I don’t think I’ve heard a TD catch described as powerful before
You have to read between the lines and consider the source. Omar’s agenda driven post. It means he likes him.
Tim, you wrote, Way too early to get too high or low about players in OTAs. SB7 was playing off of that by saying, Griff #1 WR. He was joking, and you responded hmmmm
Yeah, pretty sure I saw an LOL after the Hmmmm
The lol doesn’t change the hmmmm. You can’t be confused and laugh at the post.
I never know when SB7 is being serious. Even when I know he’s not I’m not sure. LOL
Steve – You’re confusing me now
Tim wrote hmmmm, he was confused by the post, then he laughed at it like it was ridiculous. Well yeah, it was sarcastic, so it was supposed to be ridiculous,
LOL, Bigot Trump is the beacon of truth. From NBC.
“Trump said he’d raised $6 million for veterans, but that wasn’t true. He later claimed he never used the $6 million figure, but that wasn’t true. His campaign insisted Trump had contributed $1 million himself, but that wasn’t true. Trump said he “didn’t want to have credit” for the fundraising efforts, but that wasn’t true. He said he and his team were vetting groups they’d never heard of four months after the fact, but that wasn’t true.
Not to put too fine a point on this, but in a normal year, in a normal party, with a normal candidate, this is the sort of controversy that could end a campaign. Legitimate presidential hopefuls can get away with some dissembling and the occasional whopper, but Trump was caught telling obvious falsehoods about support for veterans’ charities.”
Campaigning is 90% bull shit anyways and the other half is… He got caught in a lie and was trying to play it off.
So did Trump raise $4M for veterans? I don’t care what he said, he still raised an awful lot of money regardless. You want to talk about liars, just stare at the ballot you will likely be checking in November
He doesn’t really hate or care about any of these groups or races, it’s about trying to kiss their ass, so they’ll vote for him. Hillary with all of her fake BS, Bernie with his free college that will never fly…They’re all politicians, so by definition they’re full of shit.
Yea at one point people thought social security or medicare was fake BS. They were wrong. If most of developed world can provide free healthcare and public college for their citizens why can’t we? Its not a lie. It can be done.
Now banning all muslims to enter the country or rounding up 11 million illegals and shipping them out or building a wall and having mexico pay for it is all lies and will never fly. I agree with that.
Well said Mike, proud of you.
Trump is a serial liar and a racist. Everyday he’s caught in a lie or making a racist, sexist remarks.
I guess we’ll see in November if the american electorate will vote for your buddy, Bigot Trump, to be the next president or not. If they do, that’ll be a real sad day for this country and the world.
I’m not one to get into political discussions but my plan is to vote based on the VP candidates. I don’t think either Hillary or the Donald will complete a term without getting impeached. Or worse….
You have to look past the BS and try to decide what the candidates real agenda is. I could be wrong, but Bernie and Trump want to shake up the scratch your back BS that they all do, and Hillary wants to line her pockets with foreign national or any dollar she can get her greedy hands on.
Boulder
It will be a sad day if either of them get in, but I’d take Trump over Killary in a millisecond
I guess you agree with all his racism, sexism and bigotry. SMH. I could never vote for someone that has so much hate for people that don’t look like them.
Just admit you don’t like hillary because she’s a woman and your masculinity can’t take a woman president.
I personally am not a hillary fan because I think she’s very hawkish in foreign policy but if a choice is between a racist demagogue or her its not really a choice for me at all.
Vote for Gary Johnson
Boulder, you’re the one being a bigot & liar by hurling off the cuff insults that have little substance, why because the liberal biased controlled MSM says so? lol
Give an example that Trump said or proves he’s a racist & sexist.
Have you seen what these so called feminist movement people are saying & doing?
How about other liberal anti-Trump groups? Talk about hate, violence, bigotry, & hypocrisy…SMH!
banning all muslims and shipping out all mexicans is not racist. That’s why every leader in KKK or white supremacists groups are endorsing Trump. Or his butler of 30 years calls obama a monkey. Get a clue.
He doesn’t want to make america great again. What he really wants to do is make america WHITE again. Just look at his agenda.

Trump ripped the band-aid off and has exposed the festering sore to the air.
People (the common sense hard working people) are sick of the BS in the beltway, & its bureaucratic authoritarian regimes it kowtows to all in the name of fleecing the masses!
Boulder
I doubt very much that Trump is a racist or bigot as you say. My father and grandfather both knew Donald’s dad, Fred C Trump, and he was a very good man. I know he couldn’t have gotten the bigotry or racism from his parents. I do think the guy speaks without an edit function far too often, and I think he’s a sensationalist, but I really don’t believe he’s a racist or a bigot. You can run with it if it makes you feel better, because if Killary is our President, you’ll need to continue to refer to those falsehoods to make you feel better about voting for Killary
I really can’t say if this is an act or not. Maybe he’s just playing to his base. But if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck. Its a duck.
He was never considered a racist in all the years the public has known him but as soon as he ran for president he’s a racist. Gee I wonder who’s behind that? Gotta stop him somehow and racism is always a good accusation to run with.
I’m not a Trump supporter either even though I like how he fucked up the republican party because they’re lost.
Boulder, the border has been an issue for a longtime going back several presidents….Carter even wanted to ban radical muslims coming in back in his day after Iran took many hostages, etc.
Today it has gotten a whole lot worse. It needs to be halted until we can at least get a handle on it, & start vetting illegals that want to come here ‘LEGALLY’, like so many hard working ones before them did.
It’s a slap in the face to ‘LEGAL’ immigrants that went thru the tough process to get here, to now see the open border floods of who knows what coming in. WTF kinda policy is that?
Are you housing any of them? Are you letting your kids play with them? Not knowing anything about them or where they came from?
Oh BTW, the Clintons were close friends of Sen. Robert Byrd.
Saw Hillary on video kissing Byrd a couple years before he died, at which time she expressed great sorrow of his passing, saying how he was such a close friend of theirs for many years & how he would be sorely missed….lol smh!
yes I would let my kids play with other kids regardless of their color of skin or their parents legal status in this country.
BTW building a wall is not gonna solve our immigration problem because most illegal immigrants in this country enter this country legally then overstay their visa. No wall can stop that. Actually immigration (legal or illegal) from mexico to US is net zero. They’re not coming here. Stop flattering yourself.
Your comparing Byrd, who was a senator in this country for decades, to David Duke? come on.
Byrd started a KKK chapter back in the day. Hypocrisy is an awesome thing. LOL
Trump has earned the title of a racist
I actually think its as clear as day with him
Racism is not necesarrily genetic….lol
*for those who don’t know…the so called distinguished (as Hillary called him) Sen. Robert Byrd, at the age of 24 became a Klansman. He then later went on to become a Klan leader.
But hey, close friend of the Clintons.
when david duke becomes a senator in a state for 30 years I’ll let it pass.
Boulder, so you believe in free healthcare and education? So do all the people in the medical institutions and education systems work for free? Just wondering how you get all that free? 😉
you don’t spend 1 trillion dollars a year on defense. We don’t need to be able to spend more thant the next 12 countries on defense when 11 of those countries are our allies.
How do you think other countries do it? magic? They tax the rich more and they keep their defense budget in check.
Aha!!!! So it’s not free.
I guess I rattled a Trump lovers hornet nest here. 🙂
I’m sure he’ll make a great president. Happy?
I also think building a wall is ridiculous.
tim, no its not free. That’s what civilized societies do. They give all their citizens certain rights for a cost to all. It’s called being human.
Not really, it’s called a handout for those who don’t produce and government is not real good at running much of anything but they sure can piss it away. I’m all for supporting our fellow citizens during tough times, but not lifestyles on the heels of others. I find that fundamentally unfair and misguided.
Rich people provide jobs but some look at them as enemies. Just like in every other walk of life, not everyone is the same; rich, middle or poor. But I guess it’s okay to broad brush certain people you want something from and believe have too much?
Take away the rich people and what are the majority of people going to do for a living? Most wealthy people are doers and producers, those who are not are usually content or lazy. That’s not a wealthy person’s problem.
I don’t view government the way you do and that’s fine. But to me defense is the #1 responsibility of government which we all pay for. Without that, everything else is doesn’t exist.

Well then you should be all in for Trump. Neocon Hillary is a huge part of the military industrial complex that promotes constant war.
Trump has said he doesn’t want to fight the Russians or Chinese.
Yet the BO regime & Hillary is in lock step with most of that, is in bed with the UN pushing hard for war against Russia, toppling other governments, & worldwide hegemony!
Trump is a ‘Nationalist’. Let’s Make America Great Again…ie. Fix what’s wrong at home and not worry about playing policeman around the world.
In fact, he’s repeatedly said, why should we pay for protecting Japan, Germany, & so many others all these years after WWII? He said they need to start paying us if they still want protection…Amen!

Duke is the one who said he endorses Trump, not the other way around.
Hell, if Trump was so racist, then why did Farrakhan endorse Trump as well?

Gary Johnson, the libertarian candidate, called Trump’s rhetoric racist as well
I posted a link at 6:27 PM last night
Johnson is no liberal
he’s a libertarian
who believes in small government
A part of his campaign directly attacks Trumps ridiculous rhetoric as racists (which it is)
This is not a liberal point of view, its a point of view from a reasonable person who is not trying to rally racists to support him
GDP, I like you, and I think you know that
I’m not intending to insult you in any way
but when you say Boulder is being biased by calling Trump a rapist its just way off point to me
People can definately be racists
not everyone accused of being racists is
I think we all know the term gets thrown around
but its very real with Trump
and I don’t think its unfairly thrown at him
Trump has earned it and should wear that title now
He chose to say what he has said and he should not be able to back away from that by having his supporters hurl insults back at criticism of him
This is his quote:
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
They’re rapists
read that again
They’re rapists
That is as racist as it gets
That statement makes someone a racist
Its not an argument I should have to make to anyone
Cruz and Rubio had mass deportation policies as well and they managed to make that point without calling a group of people rapists
there is no substantive truth to Trump saying that
and its exceptionally damaging to latinos
That’s just plain hate speech
In Gary Johnson’s case, he thinks immigration is good for the free market
its so refreshing to hear a political leader say that instead of relying on the irrational fears that minorities are rapists that some people have.
It takes balls for some to say that the fear Trump is relying on is false and based on racist beliefs beleifs held by some people
I think of or a long time people have overstated the problems immigration brings instead of the value
what Johnson is saying is probably the best thing I’ve heard in American politics in long time
The idea that a consumer who can be anyone of any background and is the strength of a free market is something we need to hear more of
but its much easier to placate people fears like Trump is doing by making up lies about who is coming to this country
Instead of a reasonable political point of view
Trump wants to attack everyone
Bernie Sanders wants to make everything free
and Clinton wants to exploit whatever she can
See what I said above about filtering the BS. There’s not going to be a wall, nor are the Muslims going to be deported.
it doesn’t matter if he can do what he says
if you can’t vote for some one believing they say what they mean – what can you vote for them for?
Its all talk when it comes down to it
I have to assume a candidate means what he says and isn’t just doing it to get votes
I’m not getting what you are saying
I just think you are taking the gravity of what he is saying less seriously than me
They’re FN politicians, they’ll say what they have to, to get elected. Where do you think all of the NFL BS comes from (around draft time)?

So call Clinton and Byrd a racist
don’t tell me Trump is not bc other people are racist
What’s the argument here
If you posted 100 posts calling them racists I probably wouldn’t say anything
and say I guess that’s your opinion
But when you say Trump is not a racist – I question what you are looking at
Boulder, Duke was a state rep of Louisiana and ran as a Democrat in the 1988 presidential primaries. He had to have support from someone. Both parties have dirt on their hands.

***********
He was a very vocal voice in questioning the current president’s citizenship
which was a racist POV in my opinion
but he was not considered a racist until he threw his hat in the political ring
but it doesn’t matter
He still has to answer to what he has said
A lot of people questioned Obama’s citizenship, and what made him qualified to be president? Where did he even come from? 3 years as an Illinois senator and boom he’s a presidential candidate? I never understood it. Senators don’t run anything, they examine, write and vote on policy. They don’t handle crisis situations which is the #1 priority of a president. That’s why most presidents were governors.
That said, Hillary will be the next president and that’s a sad result of the American people.
The birther movement was always racists in my opinion
I don’t care if a lot of people did it
a lot of people spoke out against segregation too…lol
After 9/11 people had a real problem with his name and questions about his citizenship. I’m not as sensitive as others with what people think racism is. It’s become so diluted that you can’t even express an opinion without it being racist.
Obama is half white (his mother) but all people could say was first black president, first African-American president. What is that? Is that racist too? I’d say so if we go by the same rules.
For the record my sister-in-law is black, mixed actually – she did the DNA ethnicity test and found out she’s also Irish. Her daughter my niece is also mixed but looks black, her Dad is Jewish. When Obama won I told them I’m glad you at least got to see a person of color reach the highest office in the land for that reason only because I did not support him. But it was special to them and showed them that the American people can look beyond that after years of horror.
Piggy,
Thanks to the precursor & yes I like you too, you’re a great guy. This is just friendly adult debate.
But give me a freakin break dude! lol
Re-read the quote of Trump you used as he’s speaking to a group of Latin Americans.
“They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
All that is true & documented my friend…we’ve covered this before.
A large influx of the ‘unvetted’ immigrants are Cartel members & other criminals that have…you guessed it, committed many crimes inside our borders, and yes, you guessed it again, Rapes have been a portion of those crimes.
But try telling those rape victims and their families, & the murdered victims families, that Oh it’s ok, those folks mean well. Don’t be mad at them or you’re a racist…smh.
My point is, Trump wasn’t speaking of all Mexican’s across their whole society. Face it, there are good and bad people in every walk of life.
I think you’re falling prey to the media’s narrative of twisting his words out of context. It’s what they do, it’s their agenda as they desperately try to bring him down.
Well, thankfully, polls show that it isn’t working with record numbers of millions of voters. Including many minority citizen voters as well
It’s why you don’t discuss politics, theres no right or wrong, people will believe what they want, and what is important to you isn’t to them.
They’re racists
WTF are you reading
I’m latino
I don’t want to spend my life explaining that I’m not one of the rapists….lol
Its irresponsible to talk about any group of people in this way
Its completely absurd
this statement is intended to be read so Trump can have it both ways
no one can say he said “Mexicans are rapists”
but he is basically calling people crossing the border rapists by using a pronoun in the next sentence
If I know the way pronouns work, and I think I do, they usually refer to the noun in a prior sentence
and which noun was that?
He is talking about people crossing the border
not some of those people
Its tricky
You just have be racists to believe he means all those people and its true
unlike you who believe he doesn’t mean all of them
and unlike me who believe its not true
not everyone thinks like us
we may not be racists and we can separate those things
but Trump is catering to people who may believe it means all and that its true
this is not a reckless statement
this means he is okay with those people supporting him
you see the semantics here
he is playing games with racism
and its my race
and will affect my race for generations
and for that he can go fuck himself
Lets not be stupid about what he said
Its a tricky statement meant to play into some preconceived beliefs
I don’t think Trump is a racist (I can’t believe I’m saying this)
But I’m calling him one for what he has said
and he has earned that
In terms of cartels I don’t want to spend to much time with it
but we have laws against rape and dealing drugs
and convicted felons are deported all the time
mass deportation or building a wall to prevent ANYONE from coming in goes well beyond targeting these people
the best way to target those people are the prosecute them for those laws
Its just convenient to speak about them when a candidate is advocating for mass deportation bc you are going to catch them with the same net you are catching the majority of immigrants this does not apply to
That’s a little too broad of a brush for me to consider a legitimate statement about immigration
Anyone that believes he’s talking about all people crossing the boarding, will believe what they want to. The issue isn’t that he’s mentioning all or some or a part of, it’s that they’re crossing the boarding illegally and Obama is doing nothing about it, nor has any president ever.
The bottom line is he’s trying to clean up all this crap that foreign nationals have been getting away with forever, but people only want to talk about he’s a racist or whatever, and those that agree with the people doing the diverting are naïve.
Politics is a dirty business. People fall for all kinds of stuff. But as soon as they lock onto their candidate, they can do know wrong even when misinformed. It really is disgusting.
The Preseason game scheduled for August 25 has been moved from Miami to Orlando to allow more time for the construction in Miami.
Who wants to go?
I’d like to make that one….which PS game is it? #2 or #3?
The first 2 are away.
Wow everyone thinks they are D today, but D-Day is in a few more days
LOL
Fly by is over
I have to get some work done today

Good point Tim,
I was for Rubio many moons ago, then I was for Cruz…but unbiased research from solid sources as well as the recent record on certain issues, opened my eyes on those guys as establishment shills.
Trump could very well become or be one too. Time will tell. But ya gotta love how he ripped the band-aid off all the others…lol. So now they scream racist, feminist, and who knows what, to discredit him.
BTW, Piggy, I really liked Gary Johnson during the last 2012 election, but he’s got some questionable things that I’m now a lil weary of….his VP choice for one. William Weld is an establishment insider who was also a huge fundraiser for Mitt Romney, another establishment guy.
It’s now clear Gary Johnson is another pawn in the desperation of the Establishment to take down Trump at all costs…..Oh, and they’ve got him also parroting the ‘racist’ narrative…it’s so silly…SMH!
Sorry to see you falling for it my friend.
Also Piggy, yes Sen. Robert Byrd was a racist in his adult life….don’t know if he died one, but anyone can have a change of heart I guess.
Also Hillary is a sexist, a liar, & an accomplice to murder, among many other crimes such as fraud & theft.
I’m not falling for it
I made a reasoned decision and think he deserves to be called a racist
some people earn it IMO
and Trump is definitely getting that from me
I can’t believe you are calling the libertarian ticket guy another pawn
especially since he also ran in 2012 and that had nothing to do with Trump
the Green and Liberterian parties are the antithesis of the establishment not a part of it
I’m so glad we have more than 2 options
that is the way democracy should be
Johnson’s VP choice is questionable to some for the reasons
Do you really think Trump is going to pick a nonestablishment VP?
Who is he going to pick?
Hillary is Hillary and Trump is Trump
One person’s digressions, true or not, doesn’t make another’s go away
What do you mean you aren’t falling for it? You already fell for all the BS the reporters and the news people are telling you. I thought you’d be able to think for yourself.
One more thing
Good luck with that.
https://youtu.be/dNqS890yXh0
I was going to counter with videos of criticism of trump
But I didn’t want to double the posts
there are so many to choose from
It’s ok, i’ve seen them all anyways….lol
Can we all agree that politics are bought and sold? Let’s not act like one or the other is going be sensational. LOL
Agreed, for way too long…but that is where Trump has resonated with record numbers for seemingly being the antithesis of that.
Mike, your new first baseman James Loney, the former Dodger, played in the 3A game I went to a couple of weeks ago. He played for the albuquerque Chihuahuas, and didn’t look very good, he seemed hurt, played like it too. In a game his team won 12-10 he didn’t do much, and wasn’t very good at first.
He’s way down on the depth chart. He’s an injury call up. The Mets are having more issues than I expected this year. They’re going to have to battle to make the postseason, there are quite a few good national league teams.
They may be battling the Dodgers for the last spot, they both don’t look so hot. The Dodgers have won 7 of 9, but they aren’t any better than a 500 club outside of Kershaw, so they’ll be about as many games over 500 as he is. He’ll be like 18 – 5, so if 13 over is enough…
I knew the Dodgers weren’t going to be very good, but I’m shocked the Mets haven’t looked better.
I’m glad we all got our politics out of our system, mostly, it doesn’t do anyone good, because the likelihood that any of us are going to agree with any of the opposing points of view are slim, which makes the discussion pointless.
It always goes that way but I guess it’s therapeutic to get it out of our systems. I rarely bring it up, I do however get drawn into it. LOL
Steve
Loney is a decent defensive first basemen, and he used to hit for average, but was never a power hitter. He’s just holding the place along with Campbell and Flores until Lucas Duda can get back, if he gets back.
When with the Dodgers he always seemed to hit just below 300, but not many homers.
I do think many people are supporting Trump because they are sick and tired of business as usual in Washington, and I am too, but I question whether a North East Silver Spoon Born-rich Billionaire Blonde multi-divorced conveniently serially bankrupted egotistical Mouthy Con-Man is the answer.
LMAO!!!!
I guess you could say he has experience. And you know why, because he’s a doer and a producer. Not all people can relate to people like him. Failure makes you stronger. He’s a goal oriented guy.
The one thing I always think about with Trump is, he’d love to turn this country around in a big way. That’s his goal. He doesn’t want to fail. He wants this to be the greatest of his egomaniac legacy.
To me not all pols are like that. Their specific ideology runs their day. To me Obama and Hillary are ideologists first, American results second. Trump is the reverse. American results are the only way to feed his ego.
Again, my opinion. I’ve said before, I’m leaning 70/30 not voting for Trump. But that compares to my 100/0 for Hillary. Do we really have to go into detail and relive her shenanigans as a college/intellectual demagogue, a governor’s wife, a 1st lady, a Senator and a Secretary of State? You see a theme for power here? I didn’t like her from day one and I voted for her husband the first time.
It has nothing to do with her being a woman by the way, Boulder! That’s a real broad brush right there. Not fair.
That pretty much sums it all up. I absolutely HATE the options we have. Can’t stand the thought of Hillary. If you can get past the long list of things with Trump and he is elected, I’m not sure how anything gets done. His own party hates him. How in the world can he get anything done with absolutely no support in the House and Senate?
That Orlando preseason game is the one traditionally with the most playing time for the starters (Game 3). That could be very interesting. I like that we would be getting another away game in PS since we open with 2 away.
I hate that we never had any choice for Democrat candidate but Hillary. I am so sick of having to defend or excuse or ignore or support her pantsuit feminism, bleeding heart welfare state, skirt-chasing husband, lawyer’s dodge-ball rhetoric (with apologies to my Big 3 friends on this blog), and Inner Beltway connectedness. And don’t tell me a starry-eyed yankee socialist living in a Utopian dreamworld is a valid choice.
LMAO!!!! You’re killing me in a good way. 🙂
“And don’t tell me a starry-eyed yankee socialist living in a Utopian dreamworld is a valid choice.”
Love it! LOL

Jakeem Grant, Kenyan Drake, Bobby McCain, Tyler Patmon, Isaiah Pead and AJ Cruz all got work on kickoff returns… Pead dropped two passes out of the backfield.
On a day that Billy Turner alleged that “anyone that knows football and knows our offensive line knows that we have the potential to be the best offensive line in football,” that group of linemen continued to have some problems with pass protection.
Laremy Tunsil, the projected starter at left guard, is also getting work at tackle and was beaten at least three times on pass rush moves today, by Chris Jones and Chris McCain and Farrington Huguenin.
Adam Gase, on Grant’s speed: “It’s impressive. I know a lot of defensive guys have made comments about how quick and how fast he is. It’s almost like we have to temper him down a little bit, because … You guys probably saw today (that) when we do some routes versus air, he can get a little bit out of control. It’s learning how to run certain routes at the right tempo. It’s almost like the illusion you’re running full speed, but you’re not really, and you’re under control and you can stop on a dime. That’s where we need to get him.”
The problem with Trump is he’s a rogue. Nobody knows what he’ll be as a president. Hillary has a political life and some of us can’t stand her. LOL
That said, Presidents don’t rule America or the world. There’s a lot more that goes on before it gets to them. They deal with the extreme and there is a structure in place on how that goes down. Look to your local reps first. Throw your fucking party hat down and say WTF?!!!! It’s become demented.
It’s only a matter of time until Jessica Simpson runs for president and actually does well. That’s how our society has become. We like in your face intel and react to it. Maybe we’ll vote in The Jonas Brothers as a trifecta president. They can entertain us during those boring state of the union speeches. LOL
Oy!
Herd,
I don’t think Trump is going to have much trouble with many of his GOP party…..lots seem to see the inevitable and are throwing support behind him so they don’t lose face with their constituents come time for their reelections…lol
Heck even Bernie supporters are saying they’ll flock to Trump rather than Hillary….he’s also winning over some demographics that were previously thought to be very barren for him.
Besides, Trumps strong suit is to be a unifier, and a negotiator, bringing differing sides together to make a deal, a truce if you will.
It could actually turn out as a good thing….or we get more of the SOS!
We know what the SOS looks like, so I’m willing to go another direction to see if it turns up some gold.
I’m also sure that after Trump did become president, then anything that falls apart from 8 years of BO will be blamed on him, the old pass the buck schtick….lol
Tim, the key thing too, is what type of cabinet of advisors & department leaders you put together….so far Trump has hinted at solid choices like Ben Carson for a cabinet position. Plus he asked Ben Carson to head his VP search committee….Oh wait, he can’t do that, he’s a racist remember?!?! lol smh
So anyways, if Trump fills out a real solid cabinet & advisory board, then he could be a very good leader for this country…IMO.
We’ll see. I think we’re in a weird time with who Americans look up to and rely on. I get it though. Just not sure I’m fully on board with it.
Didn’t Carson come out with some of the wackiest statements ever?
Cason is very well respected and sincere. He seems like a genuine man that has helped people his whole life…..I’m not going to be quick to knock him….besides, he too is NOT a career pol….that speaks volumes too!
Cam Wake worked in a helmet in team drills today, as he continues his comeback from a ruptured Achilles. “Cam Wake, he’s not really a normal human,” RG Turner said.
What has Trump ever unified? just asking …
Hotels, Casinos, Office Buildings, Beauty Pageants, Golf Courses and Reality TV Shows? LOL
riiiiighttt rotflmao
Trump is a business man and he is running his campaign the way he runs business…
As he should….good point.
BTW, reply on Ben Carson for Naples above.

You got the figurehead part right, or in many past cases, more like puppet…IMO.
But I disagree that Congress runs the country….it was supposed to be a great branch of legislature that was to a great equalizer in a checks & balance system….but more powerful 7 wealthier forces outside of congress is what steers them…again…IMHO.
I am always so glad when I miss the political debates. Lol
Tannehill for President!
The question is, would his cabinet be able to protect him?
LOL, I hope his cabinet can protect him…..tired of seeing Tanny on his arse.
Good to see Stills really working with Tanny in the offseason & now it’s looking good in OTA’s, in fact late last season Tanny & he connected on some nice deep passes, after missing some early on.
That would be a nice hook up to have as I think he’ll be the forgotten man so to speak with teams focusing on Parker & Landry.
and Carroooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Why do we have to get Stills confidence up? Is he intimidated by Carroo?
He should be!
He knows he didn’t have a good year, and since it’s a contract year, he’ll be doing whatever he can to get resigned, so yeah he’s feeling the pressure from Carroo3 and Grant.5
Stills in a contract year. I think that’s his main motivation to play well

Boulder
Give me your honest opinion on this . . .
Who do you think foreign nations (not our allies, but our enemies) would fear more, Clinton or Trump?
Our enemies fear hour military might. But I know our allies fear Trump.
Of course our allies fear Trump, he’s going to put an end to the piggybacking on the US and make their candy asses pony up their fair share. No foreigner will like him, that’s how we’ll know he’s doing his job. He’s going to put an end to a lot of the free rides, that’s why so many Dems hate him. Blacks and Hispanics and White trash will be crying it’s not fair.
No doubt on that one, but goes for our allies and me too.

Least we are only the dog twice at home on the opening lines.
——————————————-
Cantor Technology released the spreads for every NFL game in Weeks 1-16. Below are the lines for Miami Dolphins games.
Miami at Seattle Seahawks (-8.5,)
Miami at New England Patriots (-6)
Cleveland Browns at Miami (-7)
Miami at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)
Tennessee Titans at Miami (-5.5)
Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5) at Miami
Buffalo Bills at Miami (-1)
New York Jets at Miami (PK)
Miami at San Diego (-1)
Miami at Los Angeles Rams (-2)
San Francisco 49ers at Miami (-5)
Miami at Baltimore Ravens (-3)
Arizona Cardinals (-3) at Miami
Miami at New York Jets (-5)
Miami at Buffalo Bills (-3.5)
Hoping all these change significantly once the season is underway, and they see the 2016 Miami Dolphins are for REAL!
I want to be a dog, we haven’t done so well in the favorite role in the last 15 years or so.
I want to be good enough to be considered a favorite, week in and week out. That’s when you know you’re a good team
How do they come with this at this point? They’ve never seen this team play with this new coaching staff. All teams have changes year to year and injuries play a role in it too. Gotta love preseason predictions. LOL
It’s the opening line. Their best guess on what would make the money down even on both sides, but they will adjust from there based on where it does fall. More a view of the nation’s view of us than anything.
I guess if you want to bet in June on a team’s success and Vegas wants to allow it knowing less, they assume the risk
most of the spreads are not that huge
Opening day is a bit too large and probably a really good bit for the Dolphins
Even if the Seahawks are much better than the Dolphins, opening weekend is always full of games won on field golas between two teams that are mismatched
and its not like Seattle has an explosive offense to build a big lead early
I don’t know what the Dolphins will be
but I think they will lose game 1
but I think the likelihood of it being close is pretty high
I don’t know why its the biggest spread
The alternative is to wait until late August to set the lines and lose out on all the juice from people visiting LV.
Don’t be so enamored by a betting line.
LOL @ Trump ending free rides
his whole life has been a free ride
I’m almost sure that getting the world to hate you has never lead any country, empire or kingdom to success in all of the history of the world. But you guys keep on believing that talking tough and puffing your chest out is dealing with foreign countries is a good thing. If Joffrey was running for President you would probably vote for him.
LOL @ Joffrey

His world plan is interesting. He wants be Dirty Harry with our friends and Mother Theresa with Russia and North Korea.
and print money to get out of debt with China so everyone can piss there 401k goodbye
Yeah — the whole build and then renegotiate debt thing might have worked with bankers when his businesses were in trouble, but he seemed to have no idea it would mean the collapse of not just the US but the world economy. That he didn’t realize that is sorta scary for a potential POTUS.
I don’t think a contract is all Stills is motivated by. Players have pride. You don’t get this far just being motivated by money. Stills could be a really explosive component in our offense this year.
If Trump is Joffrey, Clinton is Walder Frey
LOL, another great choice.
I was reading about Whitewater (which I forgot all about) last night and its pretty seedy stuff
She may be an ugly version of cersei
She’s been involved in a lot of seedy stuff her entire career.
I think Walder Frey is more appropriate. At least with Joffrey and Cersei, you knew what you were dealing with. Clinton looks like a smiling sweetheart, but she’d have you killed while she smiles at you.
We have got to start winning more at home. It doesn’t seem like we’ve held a home field advantage in 25 years. Maybe it’s just me.
We haven’t been winning enough games period.
politics and GOT are a good combination because I don’t watch either of them
LMAO!
steve,
Bigot Trump wants to run our foreign policy like a mafia protection racket. You pay for protection. I’m sure our allies will love us.
they already pay for our protection
They get protection, but don’t for shit.
Don’t pay for shit
R u sure?
Which Rob Lowe only has Netflix? Cause that’s the one I am
Trump university is sleazy stuff. Trump being happy about the 08 financial collapse because he could make more money is sleazy stuff. Trump calling any woman, that doesn’t have a eating disorder, fat is sleazy stuff.. Trump wanting to monitor Muslim Americans based only on their religion is sleazy stuff. I could go on and on about how sleazy Trump is.
I’m actually surprised and disappointed that so many on this blog are voting for Trump. But I guess this is his base. White middle aged men that are afraid people of color are out to get them 🙂
I think I’m done talking about Trump here. We’ll see what the american electorate thinks of Trump in November.
You are right that most of the folks on the board are his base……and geez who other than this base hasn’t he offended? He’d be a sure loser except for who he is running against.
rather than assuming he has a base
I am going to assume he simply has not made time to offend everyone yet…lol
bigotry is exhausting
there are so many different kinds if people
and so many stereotypes to exploit
if the guy is a douchebag, in time, he will make his way to every group
Boulder,
Hey, I was shocked that so many people voted for GW Bush….the guy was as bright as a tomato and a colossal clusterfuk as a president, but people still voted for him…twice! We get what we deserve. Lol
He was nowhere near as bad as Trump as a candidate IMO
Autopsy results out. Not a shocker, but Prince died of an overdose of pain meds. Seems clear it was not a suicide though based on the circumstances.
I’m surprised people still think the candidates are any different. Also, is anyone on this blog actually voting for trump?
I’m voting for him to get kicked in the face on a twitter poll
Stanger
I heard Hillary didn’t like Prince . . . . lol
LOL — but think you have her confused with Trump. My sources tell me Trump is about to announce that Prince’s father was the guy on the Grassy Knoll in Dallas, right their with Cruz’s Dad. The white guy got framed and then shot. 🙂
Stanger
The only thing correct about your assertion is that Trump makes it clear what and who he likes and dislikes, he doesn’t hide like a snake, and have people offed like Hillary did.
No doubt Trump is quite clear about what he feels and agree on Hillary as well (the stories I’ve heard)…..but then don’t like either of them one bit.
And that is my big problem. Actually hoping Hillary gets charged with a crime and has to drop out of the race. Man is Joe Biden sounding good, least in comparison.
I’m not a fan of Trump, let me make that clear, but I’m less a fan of Hillary, and the Dem policies in general. I really ended up liking Kasich, and out of the choices we had, he would have been it, but he’s toast now.
And I have been GOP since Reagan. Still thinking Gary Johnson though. But then no doubt how your state will go and I am in a battleground…..which makes the idealistic vote harder. My push on the button for Pres actually could count.
I just think Trumps boldly confronts people he think he can get away confronting
and does not mind letting people see the fireworks
where as Clinton will hide the confrontation and the fireworks
I don’t think its anymore honest or unsnakelike
They all suck. This Country needs a good revolution. Where the hell did I put my musket?
Which Musketeer are you?
Found it. 🙂

Yes a revolution, that’s why so many are backing Trump, they’re tired of the same ole… This ass hole paying off that ass hole, so he’ll be able to sell his snakeoil.
The problem is
its replacing snake oil with another bottle of snake oil
from another snake oil salesman
Trump’s entire career has been paying off assholes after assholes to get the get his means just like any other politician
It’s different when you’re on the business side, it’s called smart business.
I’m really liking this Libertarian ticket. Anybody got any dirt or qualms on these guys?
Haven’t you been reading the blog for the last couple of days
Gary Johnson is the man and has publicly challenged Trump’s rhetoric about building a wall as a threat to the free market
Johnson is a whack job with no backing. If he runs he’ll get his 2%, and he’ll be a future trivia question.
stanger
I actually do have a Kentucky long file hanging on my wall that looks a lot like that. My dad built it. Now I just need to find some black powder. This damn government decided I can’t stockpile that either! Lol
Randy — you might be shocked….but never have touched a firearm in my life. Did have one pointed right at my forehead though.
Well I wouldn’t get far with a file….those bastards would have the nubbiest fingernails ever though. I meant rifle damnit.
